Jack grinned, a little more wicked than intended, but what was he supposed to do? After all he did love putting on a show. "Supply in demand is a dangerous game mate, you wouldn't want to know what someone like me, might have paid for someone like you." It was all lies of course, Jack had usually been too plastered drunk or too exhausted to sample what the other ports had to offer, but it didn't stop him from being a bastard about it right now. Jack rolled his eyes, bored of Godscobh and its pitiful excuse for pleasures. "Meh, clubs are boring and tainted most men like fresh meat." Jack sniffed, adjusting the collar of his jacket as he tried to play it cool, the foolish drunken bastard no one payed any heed to, that's who he was, that's who he'd stay. "Directions." he answered flatly. "East is the sea, west is land."
Jack folded his arms across his chest and lazily sighed, it was true, no one else had swung by with any offers worth snatching up, no one had stopped at all. He'd half hoped Hook would pass with an odd job, or an old friend would return with money owed and a reason to spend it. But again he found himself alone, misery in search of company. "Well its still early they might come by later." He retorted, like a smug school-boy answering back his teacher. "Lizzy" he repeated "Sounds like bitch." Jack was satisfied enough with that, Cruella hadn't warned him off yet and who was he to pass up a free drink? "Please, old Ella loves me. Better yet she loves the money I don't have--that's where you come in my friend." Jack grinned, another playful, wicked & teasing smile. "Pleasure to meet you Peter. I'm Jack and if you're paying I'll call ya' whatever you like."
Peter let out a long, verging on exhausted, sigh. " you talk as if you have experience with it. were the pretty ones with blue eyes what you paid for back in your sailing days too? " he knew that he was being a little pettish with his questions now, rising to the bait in a way that usually he didn't like to, but he couldn't help himself; patience had never been one of his better qualities. " and if you're looking for people to call you pretty again, I'd recommend trying a club instead of the pier at night; I imagine handsome ex-sailors are surprisingly popular there. " a small flicker of surprise crossed his features as the other man managed to correctly deduce his ulterior motives - something he hadn't expected in his current state. " if everyone out here is offering something, then what exactly are you offering? since you’re out here too. " he questioned, turning the attention away from him in a way that was second nature to him by now.
poking and prodding for a reaction had been half of peter’s childhood, when he’d jumped at every insecurity he noticed or grated at every annoyance just for the flicker of excitement that came from the split second vulnerability that followed, and he could recognize that same desire in Jack’s sneer now — as if he was chasing after the same fleeting high of feeling that peter had been all those years. he let his gaze size him up, briefly torn, before deciding to give him a small taste of what he thought he wanted. " oh, I’m sorry - would you like all of the details so you can compare it to all of your other wonderful offers for the evening? " he swept one of his hands across the area around them to seal his point, the waves crashing against the pier their only noticeable company in sight. " lizzy? " he repeated the obviously familiar nickname once he heard it, knowing the beginning of a story when he heard one. " alright - we'll go to Deville’s instead, then. and I'll pay. assuming you haven't done anything to get yourself banned there too? " with an understanding settled, he reached out with his own leather glove covered hand to grasp the other man's calloused hand. " peter, by the way. in case you'd like to call me something other than pretty boy for the rest of the night. "

“it’s so quiet here” (for mrs. potts)

tender smile, a hand resting at the junction of the prince’s shoulder blades. ❝—- isn’t it ? i like to come here to think. ❞ with the village’s memory of their royal restored, there was little peace anymore. over the years she, && certainly the other occupants of the castle, had grown so used to a stagnant lifestyle. the peace of the woods was a pleasant break when they were not bustling.

Adam gives the woman an unimpressed look.
"Will that tiny ass bleach pen help get rid of this massive coffee stain?" he asks in a mocking tone. "You'd have a better chance bleaching my hair with it."
He pinches his shirt to pull away from his chest. Jesus fuck! This is just the icing on a piss cake.
Ariel was running late. she'd had no choice about the matter, in her opinion; she'd been on her way to her shift when she'd caught sight of a hermit crab wandering the beach just off the road, no shell to call home. she couldn't just leave the poor thing like that, of course, but she didn't expect that Ursula would be quite so understanding about the fact that it'd taken her almost twenty minutes to find a suitable shell. at least she'd gathered a small handful of extra shells that the little guy hadn't liked enough to call his own; they'd make nice additions to her small collection.
hearing her phone buzz in her purse, she groaned at the audible reminder of her responsibilities. pulling it out, she began to read the text from Ursula with increasingly furrowed brows. however, before she could reply, she felt herself collide with someone unexpectedly. letting out a sharp gasp of surprise when her lack of awareness causes her to bump directly into someone standing on the sidewalk, her eyes widen as she takes in the state of him and what she's done. " oh, my. I'm - I'm so sorry. I wasn't paying attention and I - " forcing her panicked rambling to a halt, her hands hover above his now ruined shirt as she tries to frantically think of a way to fix this.
" I think I have something in here somewhere. " she murmurs, her phone forgotten as she begins riffling through her purse for the bleach pen that she kept with her almost constantly - a side effect of her outfits being such a central figure of her job. " aha! " with a small cry of success, she tugs it free from her purse with a smile. " will this help? "

Jack scoffed, tired and bored and drunk and just in general not in the mood to play mind games with gigolo's, or pimps, or whoever he was that stalked onto the pier. "Pretty boy is supposed to be a compliment. Plenty of sailors would pay handsomely for those oh-so blue eyes. No one calls me pretty anymore.." he huffed in addition to his bad tempered judgement. It was true though, as Jack was ageing, or more like wasting, so was his good looks and quick wit. All sinking into a wrinkled, bitter old man with a drinking problem at thirty eight, miserable and pathetic. "But you offer something 'else you wouldn't be down here." he mused, lips parting to a knowing smile of ulterior motives.
"Oooh a place, how vague and inviting." Jack sneered, this was probably the longest conversation a person had held with him all week and yet he couldn't help himself to push and prod for a reaction. Perhaps it was to feel something, perhaps it was just because he was a bastard. All Jack knew was that the waves were moving the pier and the handsome man with the bright blue eyes was not a male prostitute. Jack eyed up the man, he had nothing on his person worth stealing and had enough of his wits about him to block a punch if it happened. "If it's free I'm in." He replied flatly, but extended out a scarred, tattooed, calloused hand to shake. "I want your word on it that you'll pay though. And it cant be at the Pearl--old buzzkill Lizzy don't let me in anymore."
Peter had been called a lot of different things in his time, most of them unrepeatable in pleasant company, but pretty was new to him - even when coming on the end of a bitter, hopeless scoff. His brow quirked at the sound of it, an amused quirk to one side of his lips. " pretty boy? " he repeated, casting a quick glance down at himself. " well, that beer you were having may have tasted terrible but at least we know that it was strong if that's your best guess. " strong enough to not only fail to recognize him but to mistake him as one of Ursula's unfortunate souls, if the look on his face was any indication - a lapse in judgement that was actually good for him in this instance; the less people knew and recognized about him in the long run, the better. " because there's a need for everything in this town but I'm sorry to disappoint you, that's not exactly something that I offer. "
watching as the man downed the rest of his beer afterward, he tilted his head with a soft exhale that was half laugh and half sigh. he had clearly underestimated just how many beers the man had downed before his arrival, if the tipsy sing-song tone of his voice was anything to go by, and he couldn't help but wonder what had gotten him here in the first place - an unfortunate pastime from his work that always left him for a curiosity to every unclosed story just out of his reach. " I know a place. " he answered simply, " and I think I could use a drink too. so, the way I see it, you can stay and choke down the rest of whatever beer you've got left or ... you can let me apologize for my judgmental tone and get you something better. what do you say? "
#fcrevermcre#ch:peter pan#c:peter001#oooh this is getting exciting! apologies peter that jack is such a dickhead

Jack scoffed, a bitter, hopeless cough that was drowned out by the waves crashing and overlapping each other. A steady rhythm he found himself drawn to, choosing the calling of the sea over any kind of manmade music. Even the squawking seagulls and distant yelling of deckhands didn't bother him, at least not when he was almost six beers in. "A pretty boy like you wandering the pier?" Jack asked with a raise of his eyebrow. He knew the face in passing, but most days he was too obliterated drunk to remember details like names or tragedies. "Didn't know there was a need for that kind of thing here.." Jack mused, his mind drifting to the Sea Shell and all of Ursula's offerings.
"Y'know mate, you can say that but it does feel a lot like judging." Jack explained, downing the rest of his beer. He turned to fully face the man in front of him and rested his empty bottle on the wooden ledge. "It feels just a teeny-tiny bit judgmental" he continued in a tipsy babbling sing-song. With a long burp that shook the cobwebs off his mind Jack let a lazy smile cross his lips. "That sounds like you've got an idea or two to share."
Peter had found some of his best contacts by the pier throughout the years. Something about the water seemed to always draw in the lost souls from around the city - and he seemed to always know how to lure them back from the water's edge afterward, like a silent partnership that usually left him with a new acquaintance that owed him a favor or two.
Tonight, however, had been almost suspiciously quiet. But just as he'd begun toying with the idea of heading back to base a little earlier than he'd planned, he heard the sound of beer being tossed back and let the sound carry him toward what he'd been seeking - a lost soul at the water's edge.
Taking in the sight of the man before him with concealed calculation, he spoke only when he heard the man's grunt of annoyance. " neither, actually. I was down here looking for a job when I heard you choking down that beer. " he murmured with practiced charm, selling his false story with practiced ease. " I'm not one to judge, you know, but it felt like my civic duty to intervene and remind you that there are better drink options out there. They might even be enjoyable. "
