I feel like something changed in Laura here. something about Sooraya's devotion to Allah and her faith in him. Because this has to be the moment that Laura decides to take her place. I think she finds Sooraya's faith in Allah as some sort of sign of strength, something that she herself could not achieve due to her past. She decides here that Sooraya needs to live, because she believes that Allah does not want her to die.

i hope NYX utilizes Laura well. She desperately needs something new to her story. A new villain, a new arc, a new direction, whatever it ends up being. I wouldn't even be mad if there was a new characterization, something to get away from how recent writers have been making her personality just like Logan's.

how tf is Laura gonna get into college. Is she going to tell them she was educated by people in the lab she was created in by mad scientists. and briefly went to a "high school" but then dropped out to be on a murder squad

Even if I don't like the way she had Academy X treat her, I think Liu was right in that Laura needed to get away from Utopia and the X-Men at this point in her life. After Academy X and X-Force there was just too much she had been through, and they all only knew a certain version of her that she needed to move past. If she was going to heal, she couldn't be around the people who only knew her as X-23, the vicious weapon that they had controlled and directed at certain targets instead of treating her like a human being. That had to be the next step in her story, so that she could come back to the X-Men later on as a changed person.

ough I feel like Laura could've had the biggest crush on Sofia because she would've seen all the Good things in Sofia, the fact that she never gives up hope that people will like her, that she sees the best in everybody, that she's able to Help people, and she would be so attracted to Sofia's hyper empathy and hyper emotional side, but she would be So blind to the parts of Sofia that are violent and selfish because what she thinks of as violent and bad traits are so different to the way Sofia exhibits these traits. And I feel like she would kind of lose herself in falling for Sofia because Sofia is straight and such a completely different person who ultimately wouldn't be good for her. Just thinking.

I really love this outfit. I love the pants, the fingerless gloves, I love how it's a lot more masculine and a covering a lot more of her skin than most of her outfits from her early days. this is so much closer to the goth Laura I imagine in my head.

this is so out of character for Nori and Santo, especially Nori. She of all people would not treat Laura this way, her whole mentality in the Kyle/Yost run of Academy X was protecting her generation at all costs, making sure none of them were killed or traumatized any more. My thoughts are that she would empathize with Laura more than anyone else. And Santo may be a little insensitive sometimes but all in all he is an understanding and sweet guy.
