louis refuses to hold other people's babies. he excuses it with not wanting to drop them or not knowing how to hold them but we know he still has the memory of nearly eating his nephew very present in his mind. he also doesn't know how to act around small children. often he chooses to ignore them or actively removes himself from whatever space they're sharing. this is not only due to the fears associated with his biological family (nearly hurting his nephew and/or scaring his nieces) but also because childhood reminds him of fatherhood and claudia (it particularly hurts him to see any sort of displays of affection between fathers and daughters when he's out in public) . all of these topics still affect him very deeply.
