As I sip my morning latté and write this, I know I’ll soon be stepping into the crisp, icy air—last night’s temperatures dropped to -23℃ (-9.4℉).

I was looking forward to it...

Today was the last time I would see my history teacher before the fall break. But life doesn't always work that way...

I was riding my bike to school when I saw a group of kids on fatbikes approaching (you know, the ones that go faster than an e-bike and have those really big wheels). One of them tried to dodge a puddle by riding on my side of the road. She bumped frontally into my bike at full speed. I now have a blow in my wheel. I could barely ride my bike after that. I couldn't even ride it fast enough to get to school, and it would be pretty dangerous as well, so I had to go home.

I would have never made in time for his class if I tried, so I didn't get a chance to see him. Now I don't only have a sore back and shoulder, I also won't see him for another thirteen days...
