The Red Carpet is a three-in-one extravaganza: an exhibition, a fashion show, and an awards ceremony. In the fashion show, participants from our dressmaking and millinery classes create stunning clothes, hatinators, and fascinators, which are then modeled on the runway. This is a dazzling display of creativity and skill.

Our exhibition proudly displays the magnificent work produced throughout the year, allowing the community to appreciate our journey and the progress made by our talented participants. It's a testament to the hard work and dedication that goes into every piece.

The awards ceremony is a heartfelt moment where we honor the creativity, dedication, and exceptional achievements of our women. It's a time to recognize their journey and celebrate their contributions to the Skilled Hands Organization.

Over the years, the Red Carpet has grown and evolved. Our first event was held at the Vine Community Centre, followed by an impressive second event at the New Art Exchange. We returned to the Vine Community Centre for the third Red Carpet, and this year, we're excited to host the fourth edition at Djanogly Hall, Sherwood Rise, on September 28th, 2024.

This year, we aim to elevate the Red Carpet to a new level by transforming it into an annual fundraising event. By doing so, we hope to raise the necessary funds to continue providing valuable services to women in Nottingham.

For the fourth Red Carpet, we're planning a spectacular fashion show that will highlight diverse cultures and showcase the remarkable skills acquired by our participants throughout the year. We'll also appreciate and award the women who have excelled in their craft, acknowledging their dedication and hard work.

In addition to the fashion show and awards, we will exhibit and sell some of the beautiful creations made over the past year. This is not just an event, but a celebration of creativity, community, and empowerment.

To make this year’s event even more exciting, we're considering adding live music performances and interactive workshops where attendees can try their hand at various crafts. We also plan to have a silent auction featuring unique handcrafted items, with all proceeds going towards supporting our programs.

Incredible. the host at this event brought the energy to the crowds during the fashion show and was kind to do photo ops with the attendees which was really cool. #MollyBalloons Fashion Show- November 15, 2019 The Molly Balloons fashion show is one of the great events to attend in Kansas City, Missouri.  This event brings together many creatives of art and fashion from of local & soon to break out designers to the national fashion stage. This year the Molly Balloons experience took place at the Truman event space. I bought my ticket in hurried expectation for a fantastic Friday night of fashion, fun, revelry, and great collaboration. This event surpassed it. I was truly transported to another realm up in the heavens. I was transported from the mundane typical Friday nights in Kansas City to a place of wonder, fun, socializing, and of course people watching. LGBTQ friendly environment, safe space where you could have true fun and freedom.  It an awesome safe space to express yourself much like in my hometown of New Orleans, Louisiana. The large venue that the Truman provided was transformed and opened a portal into the world of @MollyBalloons.  A Fantastic set up which included soft pastel lights of the rainbow. Prime color was seen, and I experience seeing shades blue, aqua, red, green sprawled in between the darkness of a nightlife venue and event. As I proceeded on my own with my trusty camera bag past the ticketing desk, an arch way made of tangerine balloons greeted me and brought into this strange land. The runway was setup European style with no raised runway in the shape of a T.  An amazing piece was a backstage wall that reached from the floor to the ceiling of various sizes of Balloons.  Adjacent to the wall, was a neon cube with black background where selfies could be taken.  Plenty of access to the bars with amble staff ready for your order.
