hi i've seen your posts about body weight and I as a fat girl, was wondering if you are open to talk about it or give advice about it
I have been struggling real bad with it lately, I thought I was ok and had been for a few years, turns out I hate my body so much and you seem so confident, you got any advice? would you be open to talk about it in dm's?
feel free to ignore this if it's uncomfortable tho
Hi :3 um... so. I struggle with my own body weight a lot. I wont really talk about the bad thoughts that lurk about.
Ive been overweight since I was a wee lad. It especially hurts when my meds make me constantly hungry. Like I am always fucking hungry. So I just snacked the day away without any thoughts of consequences. I still eat these meds to this day. I am still as hungry as ever.
Id say I wont have very awesome advice? Because what I would normally do when those bad thoughts do happen is... post nudes on my kinky tumblr? Which, you know I dont expect others to do. Im sure there are healthier ways to express yourself than to go on tumblr and do shit like being half naked. However there are tons of gorgous women who dress in lingerie and post on tumblr all the time. You kinda just need to know where to look.
Ive also been trying to loose weight. But its more for a health thing since Im close to being diabetic and Im super duper not down for that myself. Im already tired of the meds Ive eaten I dont want to have to subject myself to stabs of insulin.
Im not on a fad diet of any kind. Im just eating 1200kcal a day watching as my weight slowly goes down~ I calculate all of this stuff too.
There's also the difference in how being fat and being unhealthy are wildly different. There's also that thing on how genetics have a say in the weight a person can be. But that is not my expertize at all! But you can be more than welcomed to go search and read up on those.
Ive been more open to exposing my skin a little at a time? Like wearing a bikini while in the pool when Im exercising. Ive been very recently trying to get corsets to work out too! Altho whether you like it or not there will be stares from people. But I would say start from the clothes, buy stuff you think would make you strut a runway. Dont just buy tshirts and pants and call it a day. Find a top in your size and fucking go for it. (Altho I understand many curvy people will not be able to find it cheap and Im just saying if you are desperate for the cash.... you can try Shein. Which I understand many Americans are banning and all the problems with fast fashion into overproduction but they do have many plus size clothes that most store dont normally have for people like us so you know its entirely up to you! But I was close to tears when I bought something and it just.... fits you know? Just dont go all out and buy their entire stock. I buy 5XL on there and dont worry about the number being so high, its probably based around the chinese style with their insane standards)
But hey look, people are going to judge no matter what ok? They always will. They will always find a way to trash talk. Its hard to ignore them, I get it. But theyre not you. They dont know if youre trying to loose weight or whether the food youre eating is a reward for having done a week of gym. Id honestly just say the fries are delicious and they should try it and we move on with our day. Its like online haters, you dont waste an hour of your life justifying things to them, so you have no reason to need to justify things to irl people.
I do hope this helps a little? I dont mind dms if you have any other questions of course :3

Chicwish Fashion Haul: A Comprehensive Review of Latest Trends
Fashion trends may appear completely arbitrary and chaotic to you if you're not familiar with how they originate or with their general cyclical nature. However, fashionable trends frequently have deeper meanings and are affected by previous trends.
For instance, compared to the 1950s, short skirts and more androgynous forms were popular in western society during the 1960s. The modest, conservative, and traditionally feminine clothing that women were required to wear in the 1950s gave rise to this fashion. Furthermore, the fashion of the 1950s reflected the expectations placed on women's behavior and roles in society.
Fashion trends are cyclical because they are all responses to previous trends, which create a pull and push amongst them all. Everything is a reaction to a response to a response. Not to mention the fashion trends that exist within subcultures.
If you are looking for the clothing items based on latest trends, Chicwish is a leading online fashion portal that strikes the right chord by offering the best in fashion clothing. From tops, dresses to outers, bottoms, lingerie, swimwear, jewelry, sweaters, and plus sizes, Chicwish has it all. The online fashion portal offers the best of both the world- style and durability. Another unique thing about Chicwish is its steadfast commitment to environment protection.
For those looking to buy the most fashionable clothing products from Chicwish, below are some popular chicwish reviews on the internet. Let’s have a look at them.
I was shopping around for a guest wedding dress when Chick Wish pops out on my IG stories, they had exactly what I was looking for, I ordered the dress and a couple days later it was at my house's front door. The website is very easy to navigate and the check out process very smooth and simple. I love my new dress. The price was in my budget and the quality is very nice, especially the cut and length of the dress. – Lorena L.
I ordered my skirt on 14 Dec and it arrived today (21 Dec). I live in the UK. I love it! Good material, beautiful fit. I am a UK size 12 on the hips but I don't have a skinny waist, more brick shape than pear. I'm a 14 upper body. I ordered size L. It fits snugly around my waist, no more mine pies or it won't fit for Xmas. I'm super happy with it. It's classy! Would use Chicwish again. – Rachael P.
I ordered a black jumper with love hearts on this jumper, which is beautiful and soft and well made. The red jumper is lovely to. Custom service is brilliant. I made a mistake and emailed them thinking it was another company. I'm truly sorry about this happening. I will definitely be ordering again. I ordered 3 jumpers all just as nice as the other. I ordered 5 psirs of socks, those great quality also. Thank you for your support. I have learning difficulties and autism, and get confused. So sorry. B – Berny L.
Had a pretty good experience with Chicwish, the materials are much better than other companies from China (skirts) and the color represented on site is pretty accurate too. Customer service is fast to respond, which is always a pleasure, and helped exchange/refund easily. Would love them to have a depot in Australia so to help with returns as shipping back to US is costly. – Jamie L.
I order size XS for both blouses and skirt and it's perfect fitted on me. Im 165cm height and 52kg weight. Good quality of materials, feel so comfortable and light, the colour looks real pretty. I definitely become a big fan of this shop! Both skirt and blouses can be matched with any other clothes. I wear a skirt with black sleeveless shirt to work and received a lot of compliments as well as the blouses i wear it with white short skirt and it lift up my look perfectly. – Chira M.
The Conclusion
For several years, Chicwish has been helping fashionistas choose the most stunning and affordable clothing. If you have recently bought something from Chicwish, you can share your view in the form of a Chicwish honest review.

Straight size, to Plus Size, Acceptance and back to Straight Size
CW/TW for discussions of weight and size changes. Not much weight numbers, but definitely size numbers.
Note: All sizes will be in UK. For US conversion, subtract 4
Chubby childhood, going up, up again, got rid of all my smaller clothes and now I'm back down, missing tonnes of lovely clothes. Typical!
I had a rough childhood, without too much detail, as a Neurodivergant Mentally Ill child, you can imagine what I was going through. Food was a BIG source of comfort for me, possibly bordering Binge Eating Disorder and I'm only figuring out control/balance.
My Personal Size History
Throughout my life, I've ALWAYS been the second biggest or biggest in a room/group. From about age 9 I started wearing women's size 8's and 10's. I always wore the 14-15years in the children's section, which I put a positive spin on "because I was so mature, like a grown up" (yes, 15 was the PEAK of maturity in my eyes. I used to lie on Movie Star planet that I was 15 to seem cool and mature).
At about 16-17 I was about a size 14. Throughout school, Covid-19, college and my collapsing mental health, I went up to a 16-18.
Then after a really rough personal time an 18-20 (depending on the garment/brand).
Self-Acceptance
I started to accept my new size and get rid of some of the old, smaller garments that I was hoping I would fit into one day and I bought clothes that were a little loose so I wouldn't have to rebuy anything.
I became more active/aware of plus size/fat issues, worked on being inclusive of all bodies as possible. (And I still do). I also started actively using the labels of the plus size community and really loved engaging with some of the in-jokes from online.
My New Size, the Here & Now.
Today, I write this as a size 12. No longer plus size (at least, not in Europe). It has been a really strange process with a light grief of my plus size Identity.
I think I should have a proper funeral for my identity. I had really grown to love it in some ways.
Don't be mistaken, I think being a 12 and losing all that weight is great! I've put a LOT of effort and I'm overjoyed to start seeing results. I get such a sense of inclusion that I can march into any shop I want and pick up things in my size.
The Other Size of the Hill
I think it's just a mourning process of change and that the grass is always greener.
For example, I'm a regular charity shop patron and I use second hand fashion reselling apps quite a bit. Around the time I went down to a 14-16, of course, suddenly EVERY charity shop was BURSTING with gorgeous dresses and pants in a size 18. As I've discussed before, money isn't exactly plentiful in my life and it's not a rational nor worthwhile decision to buy garments that won't fit me for very long nor is it feasible to take in most of my garments.
So naturally, the sight of all these stunning pieces did have a twinge of longing.
As is well known in the plus size community, fat girls will wear their items to shreds because nice, fashionable plus size clothes are hard to come by and generally quite pricey.
But straight sized women don't really have this issue as much. And when you consider the consumer habits of Western teen girls who are growing up and outgrowing clothes, there's often a surplus of their lightly worn tacky club clothes (see the Shien-pocalypse for more examples)
All this to say, it's clear the grass actually isn't greener almost all of the time. It was just a moment of 'grief'.
The Future of my Fashion & this Account
As I discussed in my second most recent post, I'm having a style revamp! Mainly, because nothing fits me well and historical fashion is generally quite size adaptive (or at least can be made to accommodate size fluctuations more easily than modern fashion).
I hope to continue my body positivity/neutrality no matter if I'm a size XS or an XL.
If anyone has any advice on the themes and struggles discussed in this post from articles, blog posts, videos, documentaries, films or any other kind of media please let me know!
Thank you all for taking the time to read this post

It Is Time To Look At How The Modelling Industry Is Evolving For The Better By Examining The Evolution Of The Industry
Modeling has existed for centuries, but in the past few decades, it has undergone a drastic change, and there are several things to consider. Photographers at one time used this as a means to capture the beauty of the human form, but today, the industry is one of the largest in the world and models from all walks of life participate it. In order to better understand where we've been and where we're going, let's take a look at where we've been.
What is the evolution of modelling as a discipline
In recent years, there has been a dramatic increase in diversity among the modeling agencies. In the last few decades, the many shapes, sizes, genders, and ethnicities of the models that dominate magazines today have changed dramatically compared to the white, thin, cisgender women during that same period. As a result of changing attitudes about beauty standards and a better understanding of how those standards have impacted people throughout history, the beauty standards have undergone a change at this time. Previously, what was once regarded as an exclusive club open only to certain types of people is today much more open to all types of people.
There's no doubt this is great news for models, but it's also great news for consumers, too. Brands can better represent their target audiences by using a wider variety of models, showing the audience that they are seen and valued by society in general, with a more authentic representation of their brand". I think that this shift is particularly important if you consider the important role modelling plays in popular culture-from fashion trends to beauty standards-as well as for the recognition of brands in general.
The Future of Modelling
Modeling agencys looks to have a bright future in the upcoming years. It is true that digital platforms are not only able to give aspiring models more opportunities than ever before, but they are also able to make it easier for established models to find work quickly and efficiently without having to wait for traditional agents or agencies to contact them. A number of platforms are also helping aspiring plus-size and nonbinary models become more visible than ever without having to use traditional outlets such as magazines or runway shows. This further expands the diversity within the industry as well as the access to opportunities that had not been available to them before.
During the last few decades, the modeling industry has come a very long way and continues to grow and improve with every passing year. As the entertainment industry embraces diversity in its various forms - body types, gender identities, and race - not only is the industry creating more positive representations of different types of people, but it is also opening up new routes for those people to access opportunities they may not have otherwise been able to access. In the future, there is no telling what amazing things will come our way as long as we continue pushing boundaries and challenging outdated notions about beauty standards and continue to push the boundaries of what is possible in every area of life.
Modeling Industry Future Embracing Diversity: The Importance of Diversity.
There are more opportunities than ever before for models due to digital marketing.
It has become more possible than ever for models to build their own brands and to reach out to a bigger audience. It is due to the fact that the company can produce the content on its own without having to rely on agencies or brands for their support, which is why they have become so successful. As well as this, social media platforms such as Instagram allow for models to interact directly with fans and followers, allowing them to build deeper connections with their audience while building up their personal brand as well as those of the brands they work with (e.g. There are many clothing lines (e.g., clothing collections).
It has now become easier for models to establish their own brands and reach a range of new audiences than ever before.
It has never been easier for models to build their own brands and reach a wider audience than they currently have. There is no doubt that digital marketing allows models to build credibility, which is essential when getting jobs in the industry these days.
Also, models are able to connect with other agencies and models in different parts of the world, so they can find work in a wide range of countries and cities much easier than they would be able to do in their own country.
Using the Internet, models are able to build their own brands and build their own followings
Using the internet, models are able to build their own brands in a very short period of time. Models can reach a wider audience than ever before, and they have more opportunities to build their own websites, social media accounts and online stores.
As part of digital marketing, models can also create a portfolio to display their work as well as provide information about themselves, such as their contact details or their rates, if they wish to work with clients.
It is a great idea to market online in order to build credibility for your business
If you're looking for a way to build credibility and get your name out there, online marketing is a great option. It is possible for people to see your work and judge you based on what they see when they look at it. It is a great idea to show off your portfolio, so that people see what kind of work you are capable of and what kind of projects would fit your wheelhouse and what kind of locations you prefer.
Aside from showcasing their physical features, models are also given the opportunity to showcase their personalities through online marketing. It might be possible to translate, for example, that someone likes how funny or thoughtful someone is when they talk on social media sites like Instagram or Twitter into real-world sales opportunities in the future if they notice those traits in their posts.
Investing in digital marketing is a good way to ensure your future career success
There are many advantages to digital marketing when it comes to building your brand and reaching a wider audience. By using this product, you will be able to get more clients, build credibility and market yourself and your work more effectively. It is also possible for models to gain exposure in the fashion industry through the use of digital marketing. They can promote themselves on social media platforms such as Instagram and Facebook to gain visibility in the industry.
Models who are interested in digital marketing should invest in building their portfolio with professional photos so that they have something new to show potential clients when they meet them at events or conventions like New York Fashion Week (NYFW).
Internet is a world-wide marketplace that is open to all
The Internet is an online marketplace that is global in scope, and models are now doing more than ever before to establish their personal brands and reputations. It also allows them to reach out to a larger audience than they ever could before.
The ability to market products and services online is a powerful tool that can give models more opportunities than ever before.
There are more opportunities for models in the digital marketing world today than ever before. Digital marketing allows models to build a brand and reach a greater audience than ever before. Models can use digital marketing to build credibility and get the word out about their work faster than ever before.
By using the tools of digital marketing, models can showcase their talents in a way that are authentic and relatable to potential clients and fans, so they are able to promote themselves effectively on platforms such as blogs and social media platforms.

Abridged history of early 20th century Chinese womenswear (part 3.3: 1920s-accessories, hair & makeup)
Source here
Previous posts in the series:
Part 1: 1890s
Part 2: 1900s & 1910s
Part 3.1: 1920s-silhouette
Part 3.2: 1920s-design details
Shoes
By the 1920s, foot binding was obsolete and increasingly rare, so most women had normal sized feet. In the first half of the 20s, women wore what seem to me like modernized versions of 19th century Chinese shoes, usually flat or low heeled pumps made of fabric or leather. These could be plain or decorated with light embroidery (in contrast to the heavy embroidery on shoes of the 19th century).

Ad from 1920
By around 1926 these were completely, utterly replaced by Western women’s shoes, which were usually mid or high heeled pumps or Oxfords (T straps did exist but were not common, please stop this stereotype immediately). These were characterized by pointed toes and curved heels. There are plenty of people on the Internet who understand historical Western women’s shoes better than me so please get this information from them.

Accessories
Chinese and Western accessories were all socially acceptable and could be chosen depending on the person’s overall style and preference, much like in the previous three decades. Those who opted for a more modern Deco look could wear scarves, pearl necklaces and Western earrings. For a Chinese look, jade earrings, hairpins and flower headpieces could be worn, although these became less common in the 20s than they were in the 1910s. Jade earrings were really popular among all women in this era though. Wristwatches could be worn, replacing the pocket watches popular in the previous decades. Jewelry was, in general, just really popular.

Undergarments
As I mentioned earlier, Chinese women began wearing Western undergarments around this time and they were quite innovative in this period. Undergarments could have many different forms depending on which company they were produced by, but the most common options were either a slip dress/petticoat with thin straps or the combination of a camisole plus a pair of drawers. Some curvier Western women wore elastic girdles in this period to flatten their chests and bums in order to achieve the fashionable flat look, Chinese women did the same because the 1920s Chinese silhouette was also very flat and no emphasis was placed on the breasts whatsoever. The flat chested look has been in vogue since at least the Ming Dynasty and Chinese women had history of wearing breast binding undergarments to flatten their chests, so this trend conveniently continued into the 1920s until it became obsolete in the 30s. There is a great article on breast binding in China here, it’s in Chinese but I think Google translate works just fine :)

Hair
I have minimal knowledge in hairstyling, but I can say with confidence that 1920s Chinese hairstyles were mostly contemporary Western hairstyles with Chinese touches. Short bobs were the most popular, including variations with bangs. Bangs could be continuous like those of Western women, or they could be a single section in the middle of the forehead. Side parts existed as well. More conservative women would keep their long hair and roll them into buns or rolls at the back. Toward the end of the 20s fingerwaves became increasing fashionable too.

Makeup
Visible makeup became more socially acceptable in the second half of the 20s, although it was still quite subtle by 21st century standards. China did have a long-running history of cosmetics manufacturing and women throughout Chinese history have used makeup, but in the early 20th century handmade Chinese cosmetics were not able to compete with the quality and quantity of chemically, industrially produced Western cosmetics anymore. Chinese women emulated Western makeup to match fashionable clothing and used products from Western companies. Visible makeup only became popular very recently in the West as well, so makeup companies were just beginning to innovate. A noteworthy trend was the thin, elongated eyebrows that required women to pluck their natural eyebrows and darken them. Red and mauve lipstick shades were quite popular, usually applied according to the natural shape of the lips, with the center being slightly plumper than the sides. Women applied light pink blush liberally in a large oval shape, eyeshadow of a similar hue to the blush could be used and it was also applied quite generously to the entirety of the eyelids.

If you’ve made it this far I just want to say thank you for reading, it gives me so much motivation to write about this subject seeing that some people actually would like to know about it. There are a lot of things I need to verify about the 1930s so it may be a while until I could post part 4, but I will try to get it done as quickly as possible. Byeee

Sorry but as a plus size girl it’s easier to buy clothes from SHEIN because they have a lot of good size options there for us that are at affordable prices I understand that people don’t like fast fashion but it’s really hard to go to stores and other places to find clothes when all these skinny girls end up taking the oversize clothing to wear because it fits their aesthetic and end up leaving us plus size girls with no clothes and no options
people didn’t really start having a problem with Shien and fashion nova until it became more marketable to plus size women and suddenly everyone was like “oh my god no it’s fast fashion and it’s really bad to buy from them” but yet some of y’all still shop at Zara and forever 21 and any other big corporation and give your money to them…. The point is basically everything is like fast fashion and everything is a corporation and everyone is the bad guy so I might as well look good
I actually don’t have an issue with fast fashion. I understand that I can afford to NOT buy from them so I try not to, but I 100% acknowledge that there are a lot of people out there who are not in the financial situation to prioritise quality and ethics when it comes to purchasing clothes. And just as you said, the industry still has a massive issue with sizing. That coupled with the recent surge in thrifting (as a trend) has resulted in very limited options for plus-size women. My biggest problem with fast fashion has always been the consumerism side of it. It’s partially got to do with quality but since a lot fast fashion revolves around catering to trends, majority of people who purchase those ‘trend’ pieces that these brands ripped off the runaway don’t end up getting more than a handful of wear out of the item and throwing it away after the season is over. I myself still purchase certain things from Zara and H&M, I just try to cut down to make sure that I only buy what I think will fit into my daily style and closet in the long-run.
Idk exactly when SHEIN started getting backlash (I can’t speak on Fashion Nova because while I understand they do what Zara/H&M/Forever 21 do and rip off what’s happening with high fashion brands, my main issue with SHEIN lies elsewhere). I personally find it harder to swallow what they’re doing because they’re probably (and currently) the biggest perpetrator of ripping off smaller, indie brands and artists. If you’re ripping off Prada/LV/Chanel etc. then yes, that’s also bad but copying designers who are struggling to sell anything to any consumer, period, is way worse to me (because they can’t afford to take legal actions vs. bigger corporations/brands). The ethical side of it (not paying workers or providing them with proper working condition) is also horrible but then again, nearly all fast fashion brands have committed similar offence, so I don’t want to go too much into that. I’m perfectly fine with anyone who shops from these brands because the economy is in the shitters atm, but I think the bigger problem with SHEIN as a whole is that they’d rather do their poor man’s project runway to distract consumers from what’s really happening bts and hand out 100k to an emerging designer than work with/hire/compensate/credit other emerging designers they’ve been ripping off. Also, 100k is NOTHING compared to what they’ve profited off knocking off said designers AND that amount is not even close to being enough to support a start-up brand. Further to all of this, the people we should really be dragging are the judges who have signed on. I’m disappointed in Jenna Lyons and Law Roach who have in the past, been vocal about sustainability and lending a hand to indie brands, and Khloe K because you know she doesn’t need that cheque

The Constant Struggle of Cuteness
I feel like, this morning, I need to talk about body image. Body image, and the constant barrage of conflicting messages around body image that I, as a midsize woman, receive and dissect every day.
First of all: midsize. Was this even a term five years ago? As “plus size” has become more ubiquitous and more accepted in the past decade, “fat” has been reclaimed, and “curvy” is suddenly more of a feeling than a descriptor, the terms I used to identify with as a teenager now, somehow, no longer apply to me anymore. I’m not sure what happened in the past decade; in high school I distinctly remember almost always being the largest woman in the room. Since then, whether it’s due to perception, self-confidence, age, awareness, or just... overall changes in the population, I now find myself distinctly in the middle.
Note: I’ve been a size 12-16 my entire post-adolescent life. For one brief stint after college I could fit into a size 10. But before and since, 14 has been the mainstay numeral in my wardrobe. My steady friend and most accurate guesstimate across brands as to what my body may fit.
14, despite being the most (so I’m told) “common” size amongst women, was for many years infamous for being the most left-out, in-between size in clothing stores. In juniors’ stores (marketed toward teens: your Charlotte Russe’s and Forever 21′s), 14 would translate to the non-existent XXL: with “XL” usually falling in the “12″ range. In Plus Size or Women’s stores, 14 is a 0X; 1X is most commonly measured around a “16″ size.
About 5 years ago I found a fashion youtuber who made a video decrying the variation of a size 12 across different brands. And I’ll agree: sizes vary a lot from brand to brand, despite there being a base similarity in most big brand stores. She, like me, found herself living in this dreaded size 12-14 fashion purgatory, this no-womans-land of sizes. And even here! The numbers can’t be trusted!
She called herself “midsize”. She looked a lot like me. And at last, I had a label I could consistently search and see body types that I could identify with. From what I can tell, midsize is the chosen moniker for fashion influencers sizes 8-16, with of course, varying body shapes and compositions. For example, many of the folks I follow on instagram that claim “midsize” wear a VERY different bra size from me- so to find “fashion inspiration” I can actually act upon from midsize influencers, I also have to bring in a few accounts that allow for more top-heavy-friendly designs.
Despite all of the overwhelming positivity and diversity now available to me as a midsize woman (for example, almost all plus-size brands now start at a size 10-12 (00X-0X), and most “regular” retail brands now extend to a XXL), I can’t help but go back to my first observation: I’m no longer the largest woman in the room. While I don’t consider myself particularly unhealthy, I also know I’m not passing any presidential fitness tests any time soon. I find it difficult to run for extended periods of time. My joint strength isn’t nearly what it should be to support my weight. While muscular, I have a lot of extraneous body fat that adds strain to my daily life, and all my body’s systems: skeletal, endocrine, muscular, cardiovascular. This isn’t good. I’ve worked for years to try to find ways to get stronger, lose weight, and improve my overall health- in fact, the difficulty I faced when trying to lose weight was what led me to discover that I have PCOS and a few hormonal hurdles to maintaining a healthy body weight.
But when I try to research how best to approach health and weight loss with PCOS, the studies are few and far between- and when available are fairly inconclusive and far from thorough. I’m left to follow MORE accounts of personal success stories, all of which are biased toward one product or another, one lifestyle brand or book tour, all of which are antithetical to every other product, book, or brand I’ve seen before.
On the one hand, I’m grateful to see more body types represented in the media. It IS helpful to my self-esteem to normalize the bodies of women both my size and larger than me (even if there’s still a prevalence of too-smooth skin and too-round belly buttons). But I also worry about how we tend to conflate feeling good about ourselves to being healthy. They aren’t the same. And we’re letting commercial forces tell us that it’s okay to be unhealthy even when attempting to BE healthy: mentally or physically.
Time to come clean here: for the past year, I’ve been experimenting on and off with a carnivore lifestyle, which, OBVIOUSLY, many people assume is super unhealthy, much like the stigma around Atkins in the early 2000′s. Honestly, it feels a lot like Atkins did back in the day: lots of bacon, burgers, steak, and eggs. Quite literally “zero-carb”, as opposed to just “low-carb”. While low-carb isn’t really new anymore, and many people can see carnivore as a logical step past the surprisingly universally accepted ketogenic diet, I was amazed to discover just how much the “science” of the trendier diets of the past decade (paleo, keto, whole-30) don’t match up to the scientific, accepted nutritional advice of the actual medical community.
Last year I started going to a weight-loss clinic at the behest of my OB-GYN in an attempt to get my PCOS and weight “under control”. I’m gonna spoil most of the rest of this rant by saying this was a pretty dumb idea for someone like me. This clinic was created around those with extreme weight issues, for whom psychological care and bariatric surgery are the most “effective” forms of treatment (again, according to the health care system that seems determined to sell it, but I’ll talk more about THAT another time). The nutritionist I met with gave me the same spiel I’d read time and time again from every weight-loss specialist book I’d bought, despite me relaying to her my decades-long struggle with traditional diets and fat-loss strategies. A ketogenic diet was never recommended to me, nor any kind of actual dietary changes to help with hormone balance/control: I was prescribed metformin (a drug for insulin resistance most commonly prescribed to type 2 diabetics) and told to eat a low-fat, high-fiber diet.
I didn’t lose any weight. My periods didn’t regulate. I just stopped gaining weight as fast... although I did eventually gain back the 12 pounds I’d lost from my first 2 months on carnivore.
The truth is, that treatment plan, that clinic... it doesn’t exist for someone who is trying to change their body chemistry. It might work for folks that are so obese that literally ANY form of mindful eating will help them lose 200 pounds. But let’s be real: if I lost 200 pounds, I’d weigh 6 pounds. I’m a tall, muscular woman with some fat that has tried all the recommended diets for fat loss. Through them all, I fight cravings and energy loss, mood swings, and all the symptoms that come with PCOS. The ONLY thing I’ve found in the past 10 years that actually helps with my PCOS?
Regular exercise, stress management, and a carnivore diet.
I’ll also point out that when I DID lose a considerable amount of weight after college (due to what I think was a combination of 1. getting enough sleep for once, 2. intermittent fasting, and 3. regular hiking), it was also easier for me to maintain my weight and many of my PCOS symptoms went away. It wasn’t until I switched to a HORMONAL BIRTH CONTROL method that I then gained back all of the weight I lost (and then some) and once again began fighting uncontrolled PCOS symptoms. They compounded on each other, and made it harder and harder to get back to any kind of “normal”.
So, I’m back on carnivore. In addition to more stable energy, noticeable reduction of PCOS symptoms, and slight weight loss, I also just... hurt a lot less on carnivore. Along this journey I’ve finally realized that I do in fact have a chronic pain problem. Whether it’s due to chronic inflammation, past injuries, or food sensitivities, I’m not really sure: but I know when I eat carnivore, my chronic pain all but goes away. Recently, I’ve been recovering from a back injury, so there was of course some pain associated with that (as well as a break from regular exercise, which I plan to get back to once I’m cleared by my chiropractor), but the daily body aches, numbness, and discomfort?
Gone.
I’ve got regular periods when I eat this way- like, ACTUALLY one a month like I’m supposed to have. My facial hair growth slows down, even thins out. My focus improves. I sleep better, and actually follow a normal circadian rhythm. What’s total bananas is that I’m not the only one who experiences this: MANY folks who’ve tried this way of eating report daily quality of life improvements.
I’m not going to say everyone should eat this way; I’m not even going to suggest that everyone with PCOS should eat this way. But I WOULD love to see some actual RESEARCH done on this way of eating- or even better research on a ketogenic diet! I’m so frustrated by the lack of medical research on nutrition, and in particular the lack of action to curb the universally-accepted-to-be-unhealthy nutrition standards in America. While I won’t say it’s hard to eat carnivore (cause like, all diets are hard), I have noticed over the years that NO ONE IN OUR COUNTRY IS HEALTHY anymore- except for those whose JOB it is to be healthy. And this isn’t a coincidence!! Almost all cultures that have adopted American corporatized food structures are chronically unhealthy, and much, much more fat than they used to be.
I agree that being fat isn’t always a personal failing, and I’m so, SO glad that more and more figures in our media diets are representing the diverse catalogue of body shapes and sizes reflected in our world. I’m happy that my future daughter won’t be fat-shamed the same way I was as a little girl, and that she likely won’t be told (like I was) that she’s too fat to be what she wants to be when she grows up, despite not actually being all that fat.
BUT. Fat representation is not the hill I want to literally die on. I’m not willing to throw my health, my comfort, my ability to be active, away for my “right” to eat ice cream every day. I’m sick of being marketed to constantly as a garbage disposal. I’m not just here to eat and diet and wear clothes.
I’m here to LIVE. I’m here to plant gardens and make art and take walks and enjoy the seasons. And I can’t do a lot of those things if I’m constantly sick and in pain. And it’s way harder to enjoy not being sick and not being in pain when all we know to do as a society when spending time together is... eat food.
What frustrates me is, I think so much of this really comes down to marketing, corporate profit-mongering, and the way our political system is set up to make laws for companies instead of people. I think capitalism is making us fat and unhealthy, to sell us sugar and diets and medicine and surgeries in an endless cycle of crap. I don’t really have much more to say on that, I don’t have sources, except like... well, look around you. Look at the system we have. Look at what we’re told to do to escape it. And look at how many forces are there to take us right back to the beginning of the roller coaster when we have a little success.
Side note/conspiracy theory time: I actually think liposuction might be a more safe and effective (literally EFFECTIVE not just safe) form of “weight loss surgery” in helping folks with actual, permanent weight loss. Hear me out: while I will fully admit I can’t remember where I read any of this (as I’ve read so many scores of information regarding health and weight loss over my lifetime), I seem to remember body fat working something like this: it’s really easy for your body to make new fat cells, but very difficult for your body to destroy them. So, when you gain fat, it first occurs by your body filling your fat cells with fat, until they can’t hold anymore, and then your body makes new fat cells, which makes it easier for your body to hold onto said fat. The best way to “reset” your body’s fat threshold is to literally destroy or remove the fat cells. And, I assume, if you adopt more healthy habits AFTER having liposuction, your body would be less likely to create more fat cells than it was when you lived an unhealthy lifestyle.
Bariatric surgery is incredibly invasive and dangerous, and almost always ends up reversed by bad habits and your body’s natural ability to STORE FAT AND STRETCH YOUR STOMACH. It’s a temporary solution, and often proves to be ineffective in the long term, and leads to many unfortunate complications over time, not to mention the recovery from that surgery is LONG and TOUGH.
But liposuction (the most COMMON FORM OF PLASTIC SURGERY, I’ll add), is the only “weight loss” procedure (despite not being labeled as such- it’s “cosmetic surgery” even though it most definitely WOULD result in weight loss, right?) that actually removes fat from your body. Literally takes the fat cells away so your body can’t fill them up again, without once again needing to create more.
But bariatric surgery is covered by insurance, and liposuction isn’t... despite the fact that removing weight and fat from the body would be a more instant and potentially effective cure for obesity and its underlying symptoms, and being a simpler procedure overall, as well as extremely common.
So like... why is being fat something poor people are forced to endure dangerous surgery and super long recoveries and lifetime habit changes to overcome, but rich people just get to have their fat vacuumed away? Sounds sus to me.

Review: One To Watch by Kate Stayman-London
There are few things I love more than an empowering romance, featuring a woman who looks a little like myself and that’s exactly what I knew I’d be getting with this book.
Bea Schumacher is a highly successful fashion blogger who is madly in love with her best friend -a man she can’t have. When she writes a post damning the lack of diversity in dating show Main Squeeze, the producers of the show contact her and recruit her as the star of the next season. As the first ever plus-size addition to the show, Bea is ready to use this opportunity to boost her career and smash America’s presumptions of fat women but could she also find love in the process?
Bea discovers her love of fashion during a gap year trip to Paris and it changes her whole life. Fashion and its importance to her as a plus size girl continues to crop up throughout the book and it’s something that I could fully relate to. It’s easy to think that the skinny-obsessed fashion world alienates many bigger people but I’ve been obsessed with clothes and cultivating my own style, since I was a tween. When you don’t look like the models wearing the beautiful dresses you want to buy, finding what looks good on you becomes a whole experimental process and that’s something that I’ve always really enjoyed.
There is a lot of exploration of how it feels to be fat in a predominantly skinny world and how fatness, particularly in women, is perceived by society. Of course, this isn’t news but it really hammers home the othering of those whose looks fall outside of the very small criteria that qualifies as conventional beauty. Bea feels slightly out of place and unwanted in any given room and I know that's a feeling that will resonate with anyone whose physical appearance stands out.
Amidst the relatively recent trend for female empowerment, particularly on social media, it’s sometimes hard to believe that everyone who is lifting you up is genuine. This is something that Bea struggles with and it comes from a lifetime of being overlooked and/or marginalised. The disbelief that anyone could honestly believe you’re beautiful is so strong that it can sabotage any potentially positive relationships. This becomes a running theme in the book and it becomes apparent that self-love is the key to Bea finding her happy ending.
I wasn’t expecting to have some ace/aro representation in this book but I did the biggest smile when it showed itself! I won’t say which character is ace but when they reveal themselves, a lot of things make sense. There is also some genderqueer representation that I would love to see developed, should there be any future Bea novels. Both representations are done in such a sensitive wonderful way too, so props to Stayman-London for that.
One To Watch is a cute, heartwarming love story with an inspirational powerhouse of a protagonist who you can’t help but root for. There are even a few jawdropping twists to keep readers on their toes and a fantastic cast of side characters to fall for. It’s a refreshing and thoroughly entertaining book that champions body positivity and self-love while villifying the narrow-minded bigots.
One To Watch by Kate Stayman-London is out now in eBook and audiobook and will be published in paperback by Two Roads, an imprint of John Murray Press, on 7th January 2021.

Vlog of Interest
DANI DMC is a plus Size Model, You Tuber, & Confidence Activist. Her vlogs aim to give body confidence to young girls and women. She talks about things like relationships, bullying and where to go to buy plus sized clothing that works for plus sized women.
I like Dani because she’s sincere and even though its predominately aimed for plus sized people, the message she’s giving still resonates with everyone. On her YouTube banner the tag line is ‘fighting for you to the love the parts of you no one claps for.’ she also promotes other plus sized models on her channel, for me, this gives a sense of sisterhood and shows plus sized girls they aren’t alone. This is very important because the narrative for women like this is usually an isolated ‘odd one out’ story.
The only problem I have with her vlogs is that it promotes fast fashion brands. However, in a book I've been reading ‘how to break up with fast fashion’ it encapsulates the plus sized women's struggle, in a world that’s only recently started catering to plus sizes, looking for plus sized, sustainable brands is another hurdle for them to be accepted into the fashion landscape.

My story is going to place in prehistoric times and I cannot find any information on the existence or status of plus sized people that I believe is neutral and not fat-shaming. Most sources say there weren't any, since better diet and a lot more exercise, but I doubt that, to be honest. Should I just say screw it and add plus sized characters anyway or would you suggest finding scientific sources first?
Mod Miri Note: Hi folks, there’s a lot of talk in this post about body size which I can be triggering for some readers, and with tumblr’s tag system being pretty unreliable, I just wanted to put up a quick warning in case that would be an issue for any of our followers who may want to skip this post.
Feral: Yes. If you want to include plus sized characters, include plus sized characters. First of all, waist size is not actually a great indicator of physical fitness level. Second of all, at some point in prehistory humans evolved and when we did that, we evolved to store fat; this was likely for a reason. And third of all, no one is going to care if you do or do not find "scientific proof". The truth is, people have been people for as long as there have been people.
Tex: I would suggest to first figure out why you are defining things in the term "plus sized" - Google's Ngram Viewer finds that this wasn't in public circulation until almost 1950, which means that the vernacular would be entirely different the further back you go into the past. Wikipedia's article on "Plus-size clothing" indicates that the origins for this size group in fashion had comparatively very recent roots.
"Plus-size", "curvy", "big and tall", "stout"- these are all euphemisms to refer to a body type that is considered larger than the normal range. Human bodies are delicately-organized organic machines, and while they can tolerate a wide variety of stressors, they can only tolerate any given stressor for a certain amount of time before it damages the body - sometimes permanently, and fatally, if it's allowed to go unchecked.
The human body is built to be within a certain weight range for given heights - despite the flaws of the BMI, with its difficulty in telling apart muscle from fat (and which type of fat), it's still a good tool when used in conjunction with other diagnostic tests. To be overweight and to be obese are separated by very thin lines, and is better discussed in @ucsdhealthsciences' post "Fat but Fit: a pleasing myth or something else? ".
Given the comorbidities of being either overweight or one of the three grades of obesity, carrying more fat on your body than your body can safely tolerate is quite literally dangerous for your health. Prehistoric peoples rarely had the luxury of idleness or having someone transport them instead of walking (or even riding a horse/similar animal). Walking in and of itself is ridiculously good for your health, to the point where exercising in the form of a gym or even manual labor can be a marginal part of one's exercise routine if someone has a choice about it.
I don't know why you doubt that a better diet and more exercise wouldn't reduce the occurrence of overweight/obese individuals - excess weight from specifically white fat has serious detrimental effects on the body and has a tendency to kill people off:
- "Study in mice suggests drug to turn fat 'brown' could help fight obesity"] from the University of Cambridge- Wikipedia- University of Virginia Health System - National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases - "The Definition and Prevalence of Obesity and Metabolic Syndrome" by Atilla Engin - "Prevalence of polycystic ovary syndrome in Chinese obese women of reproductive age with or without metabolic syndrome" by Liang, Peiwen et al.- ittybittykittykisses, archived version - Stanford Health Care - PDF "Mechanisms, Pathophysiology, and Management of Obesity" by Steven B. Heymsfield, M.D., and Thomas A. Wadden, Ph.D.- "Review of Childhood Obesity: From Epidemiology, Etiology, and Comorbidities to Clinical Assessment and Treatment" by Seema Kumar, MD and Aaron S. Kelly, PhD- "A Proposal of the European Association for the Study of Obesity to Improve the ICD-11 Diagnostic Criteria for Obesity Based on the Three Dimensions Etiology, Degree of Adiposity and Health Risk" by J Hebebrand et al.- "Health Effects of Overweight and Obesity in 195 Countries over 25 Years" by The GBD 2015 Obesity Collaborators - "Study of nearly 300,000 people challenges the 'obesity paradox'" from the European Society of Cardiology
The Archaeology News Network has an article about prehistoric obesity, and how it relates to fat storage in humans - the mutation of the uricase gene that was originally meant to help ancient humans survive famines and seasonal periods of low food. "Evolutionary history and metabolic insights of ancient mammalian uricases" by James T. Kratzer et al backs this idea up and goes into some further detail. "Archeologia dell’alimentazione umana [PDF]", or "Archaeology of nutrition" in English, by F. Gregorio and M. Sudano (abstract also provided in English) talks about how the human genotype has changed as diet and sedentary levels shifted.
Perhaps you're thinking of the Venus figurines as an example of "plus size"? But that's still not quite right - many of these figurines are meant to display what fertile women look like, especially pregnant ones (peak fertility for a great many cultures, but also a temporary state for women), and real-life steatopygian body types are mostly restricted to either parts of Africa or parts of India, often by tribe.
In China, and I believe parts of Asia with similar cultures, fat under the chin heralds many good things - possibly because it meant you weren't starving and thus had enough food to be considered wealthy. Your mileage will vary on that, because China and many other cultures frown upon consumption unto excess for a variety of reasons.
People with more weight on them than average for their population, historically, have access to more food - which means ruling families, wealthy people - and once it was invented, (wealthy) farmers. But many cultures that were around in prehistory didn't have those kinds of societal structures, and pre-agricultural societies were inherently on the thin side because they were nomadic (which meant lots of walking), and had a diet primarily of gathered fruits/vegetables and whatever meat they could hunt down. It's usually the carbohydrates and other complex sugars in processed grains, such as breads, noodles, and bread-beers, that incite weight gain which is difficult to slough off, so it's something you need to keep in mind when worldbuilding your prehistoric societies.
If you want these kinds of body types in your worldbuilding, that's fine, but I would recommend that you don't try to view the past through the context of the present - life was very different back then, for very legitimate reasons, in ways that are neither wholly good nor wholly bad.
Saphira: Tex effectively nailed it, but I realize that you are likely writing "Plus-sized" characters into your narrative for representative purposes. You see how people under that title are treated in our current era, and you want to give them a more positive experience through your story. This is benevolently spirited, and so I understand your frustration with the situation. Being that history is not giving you a foothold for your vision, it's time to try another method.
Let's take a look at the Venus Figurines! They were made to represent women with bounty of life within them (as they were pregnant). They were also structures that represent faith. It gives us a fun, and positive, perspective on figures who are plus-sized. If we add a few degrees of separation, we get a foothold! First step: Pregnant people are plus sized. Second Step: Plus-sized means fertility and life. Third step: Anyone representing that plus-size is a bringer of fertility and life.
If Humans didn't have that plus-size due to their lifestyle and resources, then they may have idealized it. Look at how the renaissance models their women. They are plump and wealthy. Would not the people in your era feel similarly? Would they seek out, would they dream of, someone with that stature? Would they have a divine figure with those attributes? "This Venus figure represents a woman who is pregnant." "This Venus figure is not a pregnant woman, for it does not give birth to human children. Instead, it gives birth to vibrant fields, fresh water and honeybees."
If you are using divines or magic itself, you can find ways to representing plus-sizes in more creative ways. If you are working in a natural world, you can represent them with faith, or impressions of other creatures (like the bounty of a fruit, or the strength of a bear). Honestly, if we can worship skinniness through the art of Photoshop, others can worship the equally idealistic forms of the plus-size and all the wealth it represents in a pre-historic era.
Constablewrites: Another thing to remember about the Venus figurines is that recent scholarship has argued that they aren't just pregnant women, but they're self-portraits of pregnant women. That is, what was generally assumed to have been created by someone else *koff* men *koff* as an idealized depiction may have in fact been a way for women to explore and understand their own changing bodies. Perspective is critical when talking about beauty standards.
And Tex's point about the connection between economic status and beauty really needs to be underscored. You can see the point in history where a white person with a suntan went from being someone who worked outdoors (which meant they were poor and therefore undesirable) to being someone who could travel somewhere sunny and lounge around outside (which meant they were rich and therefore desirable). People are inclined to look for a mate whose children will be healthy, well cared for, and prosperous; the outward indicators of that status, whatever they might be in a given society, end up being conflated with an abstract idea of beauty.
Feral: As Tex, Saphira, and Constable pointed out "plus sized" has a wide definition (and can mean as small as an American size 10 depending on the brand), and it's important to also remember that "prehistory" has a wide definition - specifically a 3 million+ year definition. Prehistory covers everything from the first stone tools 3.3 million years ago to maybe somewhere around 5,300 years ago. Kinda. Prehistory means "before written record" and runs through the Stone Age, Bronze Age, and Iron Age, which all end in different places at different times.
So, what this means is that depending on which epoch your civilization falls under, there may absolutely be the necessary agriculture and division of social class that have been brought up. Narrowing down when and where you are trying to base your worldbuilding in will help you as you develop you characters and do further research on a variety of issues that may come up.
Another thing to consider is that you're probably not going to be describing your characters as "plus-sized" in your story (and if you did, all your readers would have different concepts about what that actually means), so the clearer your idea of what the characters' body shape (aka "where mass tends to accumulate"), the easier I think it will be for you to describe the character to your reader in a way that expresses what you specifically mean when you're thinking "plus sized." The fashion designer Justine Leconte has a great video to teach people how to recognize different body types using celebrities [Youtube]. It is geared towards fashion and what to wear based on your body type, but the knowledge is still helpful.
You might have seen this post on Tumblr with the body shapes of all the greatest athletes in the world that might also be helpful for you. But ultimately, I stand by my original point. This is a topic that no matter what you choose to do and what evidence you use to back up your choice, some of your audience is going to have a problem with it. So, just create your world and characters as you see them.

Things To Keep In Mind While Choosing Plus Size Women Dresses
Things To Keep In Mind While Choosing Plus Size Women DressesEarlier, plus size women sacrifice their desire to wear their favorites clothes. Now, it's time where plus-size women can able to wear whatever they desire or comes to their mind. Many fashion designers are designing a wide range of clothes that cater to the needs of plus-size women. No matter what size your body has, the only thing that matters the most is your fashion sense. You need to create your very style statement where you can become an inspiration to other plus-size women. It's time to make your very own rules while ignoring what people might think. From choosing horizontal stripes to the bright colors, you should love any ounce of yourself while breaking all the stereotypes. Many plus-size women are still unaware of the different fashion possibilities. That’s the only reason plus-size women stick to their simple routine instead of trying something new and fashionable. You should feel guilty about not choosing sensible and fashionable clothes in the first place. Just like the old saying “It's never too late” Do you just want to look stylish and glamorous in just one night? Well! For that, you need to buy stylish clothes that match your style statement. You must buy stylish clothes to look glamorous. Do you want to know how will you do that? Ponder upon these following points.
Avoid choosing horizontal strips
Many women don't really know this, but horizontal stripes make you. So, staying away from these is a must. No matter how much you are in love with horizontal strips, don’t buy if you are not comfortable in it. However, it totally depends upon your body type. Try once before you make any decision. It's never too late to make your style statement at your workplace or party The best part about the strips, it has the cleanest line that can be paired with any classic pattern.
Try to mix prints
Mixing different prints is fun and exciting. Try to mix and match different clothes that can give you a classy and stylish look. With geometric or African prints, you can bring back life to your boring clothes. Mixing them also shows the fun part of fashion. Make sure that you are mixing the right print in a sensible manner without making a blunder.
Don’t buy something that doesn’t fit
It is so not done to hold the clothes that no longer fit you. Holding them in the hope that they will fit you once again is very wrong. Its high-time to say good-bye to the clothes that don’t fit you any longer. It's time to become a realist and honest with yourself if your clothes don’t fit you then donate them in the charity. You should never get disheartened with the fact that your clothes don’t fit you rather you should be happy that your clothes are in good deeds.
Go for skinny jeans
Many plus-size wonders that skinny jeans are for skinny people. This is wrong in so many ways. If you are the one that wants to look different than other people, then you should definitely try skinny jeans. This will give you the ultimate confidence in your body type. IT All Started With Ice Cream
Happy Lowman x Plus Size Reader
Warning/Triggers: Feeling a little insecure.
Requested by the beautiful: @a-kay4711
Pics are not mine.
When he seen her he froze. She was the most beautiful woman he had ever laid eyes on. He watched as she played with the little girl that looked just like her. “Mommy… Ice cream?” she looked at her taking a deep breath. The ice cream she pointed at was expensive and at the moment she needed to get the necessities. “Not today baby.. Mommy is on a budget.. Soon my love I will buy you the world. Even if it is just us.” Happy was surprised when the kid didn’t cry, instead hugged her mom, knowing she was upset. The little girl wrapped her fingers around her moms pointer finger as they walked down the aisle. “Happy you coming?” Tig called from the other aisle. “I will meet you guys back at TM..” Tig looked down the aisle seeing the woman and little girl. “She is beautiful.. Nice and curvey. MM..” Happy punched his brother in the shoulder, walking to grab something down the aisle.
“Hunny get in your car seat, so mom can pack in the groceries.” Opening the door for the little girl, you helped her buckle in. Shutting the door after you opened the truck to your Durango. “Hmm.. mam..” turning your head you seen a tall man, wearing a Kutte. You knew who SAMCRO was, everyone in Charming did. You had been thankful to them, with donations they helped you raise for the school you helped at. “Hello!” you smiled to him gently. Happy took a deep breath, he was unsure how to say this without being an asshole that was kind of stalking the conversation. “I… umm…” he rubbed his right hand over his bald head. “You umm?..” You chuckled a bit smiling to him. “I.. I got this for the little one.. I noticed she liked it in the store..” He handed you a grocery bag. Opening it up you seen the ice cream your daughter had wanted. Happy was prepared for rejection, calling him a name maybe, thinking he could possibly have over stepped a boundary. “Oh my gosh.. Thank you..” He seen slight tears spring to your eyes. Grabbing him, you hugged him tightly. You felt him freeze slightly and then hug you back. Happy could smell your perfume, you smelt some where between heaven and heaven. “What is your name?” “Happy.” He held out his hand. “Y/N.” you shook his hand. “This is Kayleigh. Kayleigh hunny, Happy bought you your favorite ice cream.” He nodded watching as the toddler turned around a bit smiling to him. “Thank you sir!” She smiled, giggling and slightly kicking her feet at the thought of ice cream. “Umm… can.. I.. ask you on a date… if..umm… your single?” you thought about how nervous he was. He looked like the man who would constantly get chicks. “Me..?” you pointed to yourself looking around. “Yeah… you are so gorgeous…” “Your joking..? This is not a sick joke right..” you felt confused. You thought you where pretty, but this man was apart of Samcro. You often got your SUV taken care at TM. Always seeing the smaller girls walking around. You had nothing against them, it just was not you. “Not at all. I understand if you don’t..” “Sure..!” you took out your phone, Happy took out his aswell. “Here..” Grabbing the phone you input your number, Happy doing the same. “Tomorrow night? Seven?” He smiled asking. “Wonderful!”
After laying Kayleigh to bed for the night, you hurd your phone go off.
Happy: “Hey Y/N. Still on for tomorrow?” J
You: “Sure thing Happy! I am excited!”
Happy: “Me too. Sleep well beautiful!”
You: “You too handsome! Here is the address for tomorrow.”
{Current Location Icon}
Smiling you finished doing the dishes, walking to your bed room to get ready for bed. Falling asleep.
After eight hours of work, you went home to see Lyla waiting to watch Kayleigh. “Hey baby, how was daycare? Thanks for picking her up Lyla!” “Mommy we painted animals..” you looked at the picture with a bunch of blue and yellow blobs all over. “Wow! Lets put it on the fridge!” Kayleigh ran into the house, grabbing a Nemo magnet, putting it on the fridge next too another hundred magnets. “Mommy needs to get ready for a date.” Kayleigh nodded going to the couch. “Mommy, Cinderella!!!” laughing you put on her favorite movie.
Hearing the doorbell you walked to the door. Looking through the peephole you seen Happy standing their with a bunch of flowers. Opening the door you smiled. “Hey Happy!” opening the door he looked you up and down taking a deep breath. “Fuck… your beautiful.” He looked you over seeing the clothes fit your beautiful curves to a T. He could not help but imagine all sexual scenarios that could carry out. “Happy!!!!!” Kayleigh ran around the corner seeing him at the door. “Mommy flowers!!” you smiled as Happy handed them to you. You knelt down showing them to her. “Mm.. smell good!” she looked to Happy, grabbing his finger, pulling him in to follow her. “Sorry..” you whispered. “All good!” He smiled a bit as the girl brought him to the couch to watch Cinderella. Lyla appeared around the corner. “That Son is unlike any of the others, very complex.” She peered over the wall. “Well thanks for telling me about him Lyla. Also.. thanks for being my best friend.” “Single mommas stick together!” “You have Opie..” you laughed a bit. “You have Happy..” She smirked. Walking back to the living room you seen Happy singing with the Godmother. “Bbbity bobbity boo!” him and Kayleigh singing along as she spun around holding his finger. He laughed watching her. She decided to wear a pink tutu, blue leggings and a pink shirt and who where you to stop her fashion sense? She was two! “Happy you ready?” he looked too you nodding. “Bye Kayleigh.” “Aww… no leave Happy..” you seen your daughter sad as he stood up. “Hopefully your mom likes me enough to come back.” Chuckling at that he walked to you, Kayleigh hot on his heels. “Mommy.. like Happy!”
The first date was amazing and so was the twenty after that. He found out your ex was a douchbag, wanting to track him and kick his ass. You found out he did not the best stuff for the club, still caring about him anyways. Tonight was the night you met the club. You stared in the mirror, taking off another outfit throwing it against the mirror. “UGH!” you groaned. You wanted to look perfect meeting his family. “What’s wrong girl?” Lyla walked, sitting on the bed holding Kayleigh as they both looked at you. “I can not find anything to go in.. all those girls always looking at him when I go to get the car serviced.. ugh..” you sighed. This was not like you. Usually you would flick a girl off, but today was not one of your best days.” “Sit down, let me do your makeup first. I promise, no porn star makeup!” you laughed a bit. “I have never judged you for what you do! Hell I am trying to get by!”
Arriving at the club house, you called Happy to meet you outside. He had recently got out of church and was not able to pick you up. Getting out of the SUV you felt your nerves getting the hold over you. You flattened your outfit down. You seen the door open and close. Happy walked out in a black t-shirt, jeans and his kutte. Looking as mouth watering as ever. He flicked his cig out striding to you. “Fuck baby..” He held your hand having you twirl for him. “I am going to have to kill a few fuckers today..” He mumbled, slapping your ass gently, kissing your cheek. His hand held securely around your waist. You molded into him as you both walked into the smoke covered club. He led you over to a group of guys. One whom you met because of Lyla. Opie bent down kissing your cheek. “Fuck Happy.. she is a dime!” you looked over at the black, curly haired man. “Welcome lass.” You looked to a man with scars that adorned his face. He was very handsome, giving you a gentle smile. “Thank you!” “Hello beautiful!” a blonde man stood up from the stool. You read his kutte. ‘President’. He grabbed your hand kissing the top of it. “Watch it charming.” You seen a brown headed girl smile at you. “Hi, I am Tara.” She held her hand out to shake yours. “Hello, I am Y/N.” She nodded smiling. “Whoa! Who is that!” a mohawked man came in. he smiled a huge smile at you. “Juice!” he held his hand quickly. “Y/N.” Happy pressed you closer to him, eyeing his brothers. “Whoa, calm down killer!” Tig slapped his shoulder. Happy froze at the nickname. Lyla had already told you the truth about what he does. You laughed a bit. He bent down kissing your lips. “We are going to get some drinks.” Happy pulled you with him. “Did you tell them I was curvy and they wanted to make me feel better?” He laughed nodding no. “No, I told them you are mouth watering and they better keep their fucking dicks in there pants!” You smiled taking a sip of the drink Happy got you. Walking to the pool tables you sat next to Tara. Both of you chatting. Agreeing to go shopping with you and Lyla. You told her about you daughter and Kayleigh. She was shocked at how good Happy was with her. You told her about the first date and walking to find him singing and twirling her. You at first thought it was just to get you and in bed that he was being nice. Then you learned he loved kids. You told her he often talked about Abel and Thomas.
After a few drinks you where dancing with Happy. His hand on your hips, kissing your neck as you grounded into him. “Gotta use the rest room.” You looked at him. “You can use mine in my dorm.” You nodded following his instructions. You seen a girl pass you. “Why you..?” She looked you up and down snarling. “Because, I am a classy woman. I don’t need to wear a bra and panties to get mine.” You smirked walking into his dorm.
Drying your hands you walked back out. Happy sat on the bed waiting for you. “Man that croweater could not shut up about you after you ignored her bullshit.” You laughed a bit sitting in his lap. “I have nothing against women who wear certain clothes.. but no reason to be a bitch..”
Two years later.
“Girls, I am home!” You walked around the corner to see Happy walk in kicking his boots off. “Dad!” Kayleigh ran to him, hugging him. He kissed the top of her head. She pulled him to her room. Stopping to kiss your lips deeply. “I love you mami!” you smiled to him. “I love you too little man.” He put his hand on your stomach winking at you. He continued to follow Kayleigh to her room. “Mom..” you looked down to see Kayleigh holding her favorite bear. “There is something on it..” you see the small arm of the bear having a ring around it. Happy walked in looking at you with a smile. “You said you didn’t want a huge engagement when I brought I up.” He read your face as disappointment. You looked at him surprised. “Marry me?” “Your not doing this because I am pregnant right and feel stuck and no other way out?” He laughed a bit, always testing his reasons. “No. Because I love you.. I wanna grow old with you. I want to see our kids grow old.” He smiled kissing you deeply as you nodded yes. “YAY! I can’t wait to tell Grandma Gemma!” You laughed watching as your daughter danced around the kitchen, Happy grabbed the ring from the bear sliding it on your finger.
It was hard in the beginning but you where so glad you daughter wanted that ice cream that one day. Happy was so hard against other people, but loved you more than words. His thick beauty. Your life was full before with just you and your daughter, friends and family. However, Happy made you feel so much more happiness than ever before.
