Fargo (1996) was the 'snow film' that immediately came to mind when I wanted a snow related instafilm shot. The snow in Fargo not only dominates the film visualy (with the usual brilliant cinematography from Roger Deakins) but acts as a metaphor both for the bleakness and simplicity of Minnesota life and for the films storyline of things hidden and revealed. The snow ultimately reveals more than it hides. Money is buried in it and blizzards hide everything - but cars and people stand out in a white landscape, and blood stands out most of all. Similarly all is revealed in the plot as our not-so-simple cop heroine (Frances Mcdormand) discovers all, and our sadly all-too-simple criminal (William H Macy) has nowhere to hide. Watching Fargo

Hey guys, I just started this morning watching this movie, Fargo. i just downloaded it yesterday after see its nice rating at imdb that is 8.1.

This is a 1998 American crime and black comedy film. The story line is not full of surprise. So this is the plot, what is a spoiler for you if you have not watched it yet.

There’s a sales car that have a money problem, he want get the money from this father in law, that is rich. The problem is how he think he’ll get the money. He hire 2 people to kidnap his wife, and ask his father in law’s money to get his daughter back.

This 2 hoodlum asked for car to do this and 80 grand. The car they got first to kidnap a man’s wife, and 80 grand later. In the process moving the man’s wife to their hideout, they, because of the situation, killed 3 people, an officer and 2 civilians. (There’s a big problem here)

By the occurrence of homicide, the police start the investigation. (The police is quite real and smart I think). Because of the investigation, the hoodlums ask for money to the man. Then the man ask to his father in law, and his father in law insist that he will give the money directly to the hoodlums in exchange of his daughter.

At the place of agreement (where the man and one of hoodlum meet), instead of him, his father in law came with the money. The hoodlum got surprise and killed the man’s father in law and took the money. The man come not long after that and move the body of his father in law.

On the other side, the hoodlum startled when he found a millions dollars in the suitcase, not just 80 grand. So he took the 80 grand, and buried the rest in the middle of snow. He back to his hideout and found that the man’s wife already killed by his friend and he too killed by his maniac friend.

Not long after that, the police found the hoodlum’s hideout and arrest the one that still alive. They also arrest the man who tried to escape the other cities.

So that is the story. The hoodlum, the police, and the man played their role well, especially the hoodlums i think. Sometimes they’re quite funny. The police is a girl who is pregnant, which is kind of special.

You’ll laugh sometimes when watching this and maybe, i hope that the hoodlum got away from police chase. Hahaha.. This is not an action film, no romp, and just few shotguns firing. There’s something I like in this movie, that is the scene. It all snow and white and empty, i mean the road. I like that.

This 1996 movie is based on the true events in Minnesota at 1987. In the first of the film, there’s written that the story line is true to respect the victims.
