i love that phoenix is smirking during this scene. i know i've talked about it before but god i really do think choosing "not guilty" at the end of farewell my turnabout when everyone involved KNOWS that if matt engarde is found not guilty shelly de killer will hunt him down and kill him is the ultimate power move on phoenix's part. not to mention the scene that plays out is ten times more interesting than the scene that plays if you plead guilty. phoenix looks a scared-shitless matt engarde dead in the eye, KNOWING what will happen to him if he walks free, and he SMILES. and then he hammers the final nail into the coffin: congratulations! you're free to go!
