I FINALLY LIVED LONG ENOUGH TO GET A SPORTS ANIME ABOUT A SPORT WHICH WOMEN PLAY AND IT SEEMS TO BE VERY AWARE ABOUT HOW FRAGILE THE POSITION OF WOMEN SPORTS ARE IN THE WORLD!

Like literally, when men keep losing, they are still supported and loved, but when women start losing matches, people leave stands and stop watching. This anime basically has that thing as an introduction and I already love it so much for that.

Pacing is a little weird and cutting between charas too, but there is just a lot of separate talented players from different teams which have to be introduced, so I get it. It gets a little chaotic, but soon they will all play together and damn! <3

GAY VIBES ARE STRONG IN THIS ONE! Ahh, I really like this anime. It is so nice to finally see girls in a sports anime taking a spotlight, while guys are just commentators watching the matches (hehe, they are Onda’s friends, so they know how good she is and praise her a lot and root for her a lot). And what’s more this anime also kinda lies down two pairings in like 3 first episodes.

Soshizaki x Suo and Onda x Ito. Soshizaki basically promises Suo that she will never play alone again and even goes to the same school as her to fulfill that promise. She wants to support and enable Suo to be as good as she possibly can, because nobody in Suo’s previous team could actually reach the same height as Suo and match her up to actually support her, thanks to what she ended running ahead while her team was left behind. Onda and Ito on the other hand are a rival ship. Ito is considered a prodigy, while Onda didn’t show till now that she is actually good to anybody from her school and during the match, so her sudden “awakening” hits Ito straight in her heart especially hard, because she was outmatched by a girl who nobody heard about before, a genius who literally came out of nowhere and had stolen the spotlight and Ito’s heart.
