Hey there, guys! I've been looking at your RP for a few days now and I absolutely love all the work you've put into it. I love all the backstory of Nova Pangea and all the work you've put into literally creating a society from scratch. I really want to apply, but I have a few questions before doing so (just for plot-purposes): are education and healthcare in Nova Pangea universal and free like England/Brazil or is it like the US?
Hello, hello!
Thank you for the compliment, it really warms our heart whenever we read something like that, and we hope you don't mind we'll post this question on our main blog, it's just so others can have access to this information as well!
In answer to your question, yes. Nova Pangaea provides free education and free healthcare for all. Granted, that are private educational institutions that are more specialized in one field of education or another, but these also offer scholarships and financial student aid (that will not make you spend your whole life paying your student debt either)!
Thank you for your question!

hi hi!! this looks amazing! in case i missed it is the rest of the world still hostile towards supernaturals?
Hey! While we wouldn't say the world is hostile towards supernatural beings, there are still groups that hunt them down outside Nova Pangaea, therefore, it is advised to hide their true selves outside the country. However, Nova Pangaea has been around for 330 years. It is part of diplomatic accords, they do trade with other countries, etc, just like, for example, Canada would.
In order to keep the safe haven promise the roleplay offers, those groups of hunters are not allowed in the country, thus making it is just safer for supernatural beings to live as themselves without fearing any particular prejudice of sorts within NP borders.
We hope this has answered your question and if you have any more doubts, feel free to shoot us another message!
Thank you for the compliment, by the way!

in the world of astoria are there still places where supernatural creatures have to hid their existence? like outside of the country of nova pangaea that is? like would it be realistic for my human character to have married someone in their past not knowing / being told by them that they were a supernatural being?
Yes, everywhere but Nova Pangaea they’d probably have to hide their existence. Nova Pangaea as a whole is a safe place for supernatural beings to be themselves, but anywhere aside from NP they are in danger of meeting someone who doesn’t like supernatural beings and would eventually hunt them. So, yes, it’d be common for people to have relations with humans and hide what they are, or just share it with their loved ones and keep it hidden from everyone else.
Hopefully this help, and if you have any more question, we’re here for you!

how common is vervain in this country?
Hi! Seeing as it's a flower much like all of the other flowers, we would say it's not banned in the country (much like wolfsbane and lakspur). There are several home and beauty products made with these different plants that cater to different species, as well as potions, too. We'd also like to think they're used in researches funded by the Helios Project.
So, take it as something you're allergic to: if you're a vampire, you won't buy a body lotion that contains vervain, for example. Or if you visit a friend that has an air freshener with vervain (I personally own one and love its scent), you'd be able to sense it. Granted, it would not kill a vampire to be in a room where the air freshener has a vervain scent, but they would react to it. Maybe their throat would itch, maybe it would make them scratchy. Something light and not extreme nor harmful. The harm these plants do, happen when they're consumed in great amounts.
We appreciate the question and we hope to have helped!

does nova pangaea have kind of countryside-ish districts/towns/etc?
Hi! That’s a very interesting question.
Since both Nova Pangaea and its provinces are rather big, it’s not hard to find little picturesque towns in the countryside. In our map we only named the capital of the provinces, however, that is not to say that there are only these cities in the country.
And, considering that Nova Pangaea also has part of its economy provided by the agriculture and livestock, it is safe to say that you can find farms throughout the whole country.
We hope to have answered your question, and, if you have more, feel free to send them our way!

So is the knowledge of the supernatural like public? Does everyone know they exist
Hello! Yes, as stated in our plot, they do! It’s common knowledge about the existence of supernatural beings worldwide, the difference is that while they are free to share what they are in Nova Pangaea if they'd like to, outside of the country they are safer keeping their nature as a secret due to the fear of their species that still exists in the world, which most times, grows into prejudice and hatred. Therefore, someone could be aware of supernatural beings existing, but not knowing that their neighbor is a concubus, for an example.

hi there! i love all the work put into the history and setting of this rp! it looks amazing. and, on that sense, i have a question: how does nova pangea figure into the global context? like how does it interact with other countries? it doesn't need to be like a really complex answer i just wanted to get a feeling of how it works because the narrative is so interesting i couldn't help but try to imagine it lol
Hello! First of all, thank you for such an interesting question, and sorry we took a while to reply, but we were thinking on how to answer it properly.
But to put it simply, Nova Pangaea is a country like any other. They have a seat at the United Nations, they’re part of environmental accords, they’re also part of groups of emerging countries, etc. Nova Pangaea also trades with most countries and have diplomatic agreements, as well as embassies in different nation’s capitals, however, much like in our reality, there are some countries that dislike others or don’t trade with others. The same happens with NP, because there is still prejudice against the supernatural, thus creating some tension among certain countries.
One more thing we can point out is that, international representatives are most likely to be humans due to safety reasons. So, diplomats and ambassadors are most likely (though not exclusively) to be humans rather than other species. Their international sports delegations are all human in order to show good sportsmanship and to keep the competition fair.
To summarize, since Nova Pangaea has existed for over 300 years now, it has been able to integrate the international community by now.
Once again, thank you for your question!

there's a certain enterprise responsible for Helios Project? If yes, it's possible to apply as the CEO?
Hi! First of all, thank you for your question! We’re always excited whenever there’s interest in one of the social programs we created for the roleplay!
To answer your question, there is not an enterprise responsible for the project because it’s a governmental project, so all of the tests and researches are financed by the government. However, there are private investors involved in the project. So, if you’d like and if that works for you, you could apply as a CEO of a company of your liking and have your character be one of the investors financing the Helios Project.
Another option we could give, is to have your character being part of the board of directors of the ARCR, which is a private institution and it’s where the researches for the Helios Project take part.
We hope that helped and we’re looking forward to reading an app from you!

if I wanted my char to have lived his entire life in a different city in nova pangaea before going to astoria, can I create info about it? or can you share something about them?
Hello, we thought about it for some time and yes, if you'd like to create a few things about the provinces your character lived prior to Astoria, you may. I (Admin Vee) will just give you a few information that as an architect and urbanist I ended up creating about the other provinces in Nova Pangaea.
New Seofonac is the administrative province of Nova Pangaea, as stated in the plot page in our roleplay, therefore it's really important for the country's business, see it as any of the big cities out there, such as New York, Melbourne, São Paulo, London. The highest buildings and the most important companies stay in New Seofonac, so it's usually the city people go to if they're being transferred to a new filial of the company they already work on, or if they're moving to Nova Pangaea for job opportunities. It’s also where the Parliament Buildings takes place and where it’s the Presidential palace, so there are also plenty of opportunities in the political field at New Seofonac.
Oakheart and Streatham were the second and third provinces created after Astoria in the country, therefore they also hold plenty of historical events and they have important in its matter. The heart of Nova Pangaea alongside with New Seofonac, so: Streatham, Oakheart, Astoria, Willowdale, Perthlockry and Aramoor are provinces that are usually the ones tourists and immigrants head to if they want to get to know more about the country and to find a new place to live, for its beautiful beaches (if it's one other cities in which its neighborhoods are places in Nova Pangaea's coasts) on their east side, the culture, the opportunities and its lively neighborhoods gave those provinces strongest selling points, but be aware that those are also the most expensive provinces to live, you may find something cheaper but those housings are rare compared to every other provinces in the country.
Another thing is that, keep in mind that Nova Pangaea's south is warmer than its north, so any of the provinces below New Seofonac have a warmer temperature during spring and summer unlike those above New Seofonac and the same goes to winder and autumn, which are colder on Nova Pangaea's north provinces.
Some choose Southwold as a place to rent or buy a house to spend the holidays when they want to be apart from the big cities. It's a province with small neighborhoods, most of them family friend with a small number for their population but still with kind and welcoming people. Its neighborhoods that are close to the coast are filled up with big houses.
Ampleforth and Safer Keep are also provinces with a few neighborhoods, most of their are are still intact due to the nature that are preserved until nowadays; part of Nova Pangaea's cultural heritage, it's forbidden to take it down.
Most of Nova Pangaea's provinces, inside my head, are a merge of Portugal's, USA’s and Italy’s most important cities. So, when you're trying to picture something for your characters' hometown if they lived their lives in any provinces in Nova Pangaea, this is how helpful we can be, I think. But we're always willing to share information or to brainstorm with our future players.
Again, sorry that I rambled and wrote a lot in this answer, but thank you for this message. We appreciate it and we can't wait to have your application in our submit box!

What's the weather like in Nova Pangea, or Astoria, more specifically?
Well, not that we’re big experts on the weather but, we’d suppose it’s similar to that of east coast U.S.A as the size of the continent reaches from the very top almost at the same level of New Hampshire and Maine, all the way down to the tip of Florida. We could say it’s colder on the west, while the east side of the continent shares a weather more similar to that of Portugal and northwest Africa but much milder. The east side of Nova Pangaea probably receives some storms similar to hurricanes during the mid-summer, mid-autumn season. It wouldn’t snow much but temperatures do drop enough during the winter for there to be some sporadic snowfall, perhaps heavier on the north. I cannot see it being a very hot country, but it could suffer heatwaves that bring some harsh weather every now and then, especially during the summer.
Astoria, being further up north, and leveled to the states of Virginia and Delaware, probably shares a similar weather. Not exactly the same but it can give you somewhat of an idea to go by.

You say that it's pretty hard for a non-Nova Pangaean to gain access to the country, but is it the same the other way around? Would it be difficult to leave if you're a native, or is that much easier? Like can you still go for a romantic vacation in Paris or something?
Hi! So, you know when you’re applying for a tourist visa to the United States? You have to go through an interview process (at least for us in Brazil is like that). You fill out an application and you schedule an interview at the embassy and everything. It’s the same process when applying for a tourist visa to Nova Pangaea. When you’re applying for a citizenship visa, the process is much more thorough and strict. It’s the same principle. They have to be more thorough with background checks and everything in both occasions though because of possible threats to the supernatural species. Say, someone who’s been known to be against the supernatural won’t be gained access to Nova Pangaea, when it shows up in their background check.
If you’re travelling to a country that doesn’t require tourist visas, then it should be easy. But if said country requires you to have a tourist visa, then you as everyone else around the world go through the same process. So I’d say, sure. You can still go on a romantic vacation and come back without much trouble.
Hope that helps!

Is Astoria/Nova Pangaea influenced by cultures around the world? Say there are areas that are heavy with different cultures alike those in say, the Middle East, or the various countries of Africa? Or does Astoria/Nova Pangaea have its own culture that's not like the rest of the world? Also is there a particular reason the official language is English?
Hi! I’d say that Nova Pangaea, as well as Astoria as a cosmopolitan city, are influenced by cultures around the world, yes. I mean, they have access to other cultures and I’d say people tend to adapt to the Nova Pangean culture.
As for your second question, is this like, for example, Chinatown in New York? If so, then sure. I mean, people immigrate from all over the world to not only Astoria, but to Nova Pangaea itself, so I think that it’s something prone to happen, especially in a cosmopolitan town. As for the language, well, given the fact that the founders of Nova Pangaea, as it’s stated on our plot, came from the United States, and also, because our threads would be written in English, we thought it’d be best to leave the official language as English.
Hope that helped!
