✔: A plot you would love to play out with your character

I’d love an actual early 1900s AU where Miles can literally be a muckraker journalist in NYC. That would be super fun for me, since I love writing historical settings. I’d also like a plot where Miles never did make it out, or the Walrider won’t allow him to leave the asylum, so he’s trapped there (with or without the Walrider). Uhh, threads with younger Miles as he’s exploring his sexuality would be good too — maybe trying to get intimate with a woman that first time and it just failing miserably and he ends up embarrassed as hell and trying to make up excuses for why he’s so uncomfortable.

✖: A plot you would never do/can’t do with your character

Answered! I’m really flexible with plots, so I’m willing to do almost anything as long as it’s in-character for Miles to do and doesn’t involve butchering my muse (metaphorically speaking; perfectly willing to butcher him literally).

☣: A pet peeve about roleplaying

When people format their posts so fancy that I can’t actually read what they write. I’ve only run into this once, thank god. I don’t mind formatting — I format my own posts — but when it’s so intricate and fancy that I can’t read what you typed up, and I have to do all this shit to your reply to make it legible, that’s where I have to stop writing with that person. If I can’t read it, I can’t reply to it, it’s really as simple as that.

☠: Something you dislike about your fandom

There is a LOT of romanticization of rape in this fandom thanks to Gluskin’s popularity. And I like Gluskin as a character, I find him intriguing. I just don’t like how most of the fandom portrays him or excuses the abuse. I also dislike the blatant erasure of female characters from both the writers and the fandom. It’s canon that Lisa is basically the only thing that got Waylon through that place and out of there alive, and yet the fandom just seems to ignore the fact that he’s married at all. People would much rather erase her entirely and make Waylon gay than focus on the importance of their relationship and it bothers the hell out of me.

Of course, there are a few Gluskin writers who portray him wonderfully, just like with any other muse. He’s not impossible to portray well. I just really don’t get the Eddie/Waylon popularity and a lot of it honestly squicks me out to the point where I have to close my computer and take a break from tumblr before I trigger myself.

➸: Something you like about your fandom

How racially diverse most users make the cast of characters. I’ve seen Iranian or Latino Miles, I’ve seen Japanese or Korean Waylon, and even in a lot of the fanart where Waylon is white, the artist makes Lisa a POC. It’s really great that most of the fandom doesn’t insist on white-washing the characters. I myself prefer Waylon as Korean, but I don’t have a preference for Miles, and I honestly just love any art portraying either of them as POC.

☮: Something you’re confident about with your writing

Uhh. I’m not actually that confident in my writing abilities. I guess I have decent sentence length variation? And I’m good at breaking things up into paragraphs? I’m also pretty okay at writing sad/emotional scenes when I get on a roll, but I have to be in the exact right mood for it.

♫: An argument that you’re sick of hearing

I honestly have no idea. Maybe the argument that people use their OCs or muses in general as mouthpieces for their opinions? That’s not true at all. I mean, with Miles, he’s an extremely liberal character, this is pretty much canon. But I also write Norman Bates, who is a misogynist and a serial murderer who targets women who look like his dead mother, so??? Yeah not true in my case at all. Of course, some people do reblog political posts and whatnot OOC on their roleplay blogs, and that’s fine, it’s their blog. But when they’re reblogging it as their character’s interests, that’s a different thing entirely. Mun does not equal muse. My opinions don’t always line up with my character’s opinions.
