In the stillness of the night, Fang was jolted awake by the soft sound of crying. Peeking through the blankets of the fort, she found Kailey, huddled alone, trying to hide her emotions.
Not wanting to confront her directly, Fang grabbed her book from her bag, a clever excuse to slip into the fort. “Can’t sleep either?” she whispered, ensuring her voice was gentle. “I was thinking of reading a bit to tire myself out. Want me to read out loud?”
Kailey sniffled and nodded, wiping her tears quickly. Fang settled down next to her, opening the book and keeping the mood light. As she read, they traded small talk and some giggles, Fang’s voice weaving a cozy atmosphere that momentarily pushed away the heaviness.
Eventually, curiosity and concern got the better of Fang. “Are you okay?” she asked softly, lowering her book.
Kailey hesitated, her eyes shimmering with unshed tears. “It’s just… my mom and dad… they broke up. My brother Korey and my dad are living somewhere else now.”
Fang felt a twinge of empathy wash over her; she didn’t fully understand the feeling, but she knew it must be hard. “That sounds really tough. I can’t imagine going through that,” she said, placing a comforting hand on Kailey’s knee.
Kailey nodded, her expression softening. “It’s just… everything feels different now.”
Fang took a deep breath, determination lighting up her eyes. “You can always come to me if you need to talk, okay? No matter what. I’m here for you.”
With a shy smile, Kailey held out her pinky. Fang hooked hers around it, sealing their promise. “Pinky swear?” she asked, and Kailey nodded, her smile growing a little brighter.
“Pinky swear,” Kailey echoed, the weight on her heart feeling a little lighter.
They settled back into the cozy fort, a comfortable silence wrapping around them. As Fang closed her eyes to sleep, she felt grateful for her friendship with Kailey, knowing that they would face whatever came next together. Poses By: @seameww pinky promise? posepack

The four girls sat in a circle, Fang clutching her pillow as Cassy prepared for her story.
"Okay, listen up! This one’s about the Haunted Hollow," Cassy said, lowering her voice dramatically. "So, there was this forest where people would go missing… like, straight-up poof!"
Fang's eyes widened. "Like, no snacks or anything?"
Cassy rolled her eyes, smirking. "Exactly! One night, a group of kids dared each other to go in. As they walked, they heard whispers: 'Help us!' and 'More pizza!'"
Emma snorted. "What—pizza? That's terrifying."
Cassy continued, trying to keep a straight face. "So one kid vanished, and the others ran out screaming. But guess what? Turns out he just tripped over a root and fell into a pile of leaves!"
Olivia laughed. "Were the leaves whispering too?"
“Maybe!” Cassy giggled. “But now they have to live with the shame. Nobody talks about it anymore, but they always check their shoelaces before entering a forest so they don’t trip again!”
Fang buried her face in her pillow, laughing. “I’m never going into the woods again—too many hidden roots!” The girls erupted into giggles, the spookiness of the story fading into their cheerful camaraderie. Poses By: @simsgami Simblreen day 1

Kailey twirled around, her ponytail flying behind her as she spun to the beat. Fang, Cassy, and Thistle joined in, their laughter and chatter filling the room.
"…I swear, Tommy Thompson thinks he's so cool just because he wears a backwards hat," Cassy said, rolling her eyes.
Fang giggled. "Yeah, and don't even get me started on his haircut. It looks like he stuck his finger in a socket!"
Thistle snorted. "Ew, that's so mean! But true."
Kailey grinned mischievously. "I heard he tried to impress you at recess, Cassy, but ended up tripping over his own feet."
Cassy playfully hit Kailey on the arm. "Shut up! That was one time, and it was an accident!"
The four friends continued to dance and tease each other, their laughter and gossip flowing easily. As they twirled around the room, their friendship and camaraderie were palpable.
Suddenly, Fang stopped dancing and looked at the others with a sly grin. "Okay, let's make a pact. Whoever gets asked to the school dance first gets to tell everyone else what they have to wear."
The other three girls squealed in unison. "Deal!" Poses By: @welcometowillowsworld Let's Dance

Kailey crawled into the blanket fort and spotted Fang playing with a collection of dolls, her black hair spilling around her like a halo.
“Hey! What’s going on in the kingdom?” Kailey asked, a grin on her face.
Fang beamed. “They’re having a tea party! This is Princess Sparkle, and she’s the coolest!”
“Cool? I think Princess Sparkle needs a new recruit,” Kailey said, leaning in. “What’s the entrance exam?”
“First, you must tell the funniest joke in the land,” Fang declared, holding the doll dramatically. “If it doesn’t make her laugh, you go to the dungeon!”
“Okay! Why did the bicycle fall over?” Kailey paused. “Because it was two-tired!”
Fang burst into giggles. “That was awful! You’re in!”
“Phew! Just call me the queen of comedy,” Kailey said, striking a ridiculous pose. “What’s next?”
“You must have a dance-off with the royal cat!” Fang pointed to a stuffed animal.
Kailey stood up, channeling her inner performer. She wiggled her hips and flailed her arms, making Fang laugh harder.
“Great moves!” Fang shouted, clapping. “You’re definitely royal material!”
Kailey plopped down beside her, catching her breath. “Can we start a royal dance club?”
“Absolutely! And we’ll need a secret handshake!” Fang replied, her eyes sparkling.
As they shared silly banter, Kailey felt a warmth bloom inside her. Amidst the chaos of her life, she realized she’d just found a true friend. Blanket Fort: @doodlefae / @doodlefaecc Blanket Fort

Fang fidgeted in the back seat as Sage pulled up to the curb in front of Thistle White’s house. The music from inside pulsed through the night air, and the bright lights spilling from the windows made the scene feel all too vibrant and alive. Her heart raced, feeling smaller than ever next to the lively glow of the gathering.
“Remember, just be yourself,” Sage said, giving her an encouraging smile in the rearview mirror. But Fang struggled to focus on his words. All she could think about was how effortlessly cool Cassy, Kailey, and Thistle seemed. They were the kind of girls who made everything look easy, their laughter spilling out of the house like music she wished she could dance to.
Stepping out of the car, Fang took a deep breath. “Okay, just pretend you don’t care,” she whispered to herself, trying to channel her brother Tai’s easygoing attitude. Tai could walk into any room and act like he owned it, and she wondered if she could find even a fraction of that confidence.
As she approached the front door, she could hear Cassy’s bubbly laugh mixing with Kailey’s playful teasing. Thistle opened the door before she had a chance to knock, her bright smile lighting up the evening.
“Fang! You made it!” Thistle greeted, her excitement genuine.
“Yeah, I’m here!” Fang replied, putting on what she hoped was a cool grin—one that mirrored Tai’s casual confidence. Inside, though, she still felt that tightening in her chest.
Cassy turned to her, a friendly spark in her eyes. “We were just about to start a movie! Want to join?”
“Sure, sounds fun!” Fang replied, her voice steadying as she stepped inside. She tried to project nonchalance, but the laughter and banter made her acutely aware of how she felt like an outsider in their effortless cool.
Kailey tossed her hair over her shoulder and shot Fang a grin. “What’s your favorite movie?”
Fang bit her lip, suppressing the urge to overthink her answer. “I like… um… action movies!” she blurted, hoping it sounded casual enough.
Thistle raised an eyebrow in surprise. “Really? I didn’t know that about you! Any favorites?”
“Yeah! Like… um, ‘The Fast and the Furious!’” Fang added, suddenly realizing she was rambling.
“Nice! I love those,” Cassy chimed in.
Fang felt a small rush of relief, her heart softening as the girls welcomed her into their lively world. Maybe she wasn’t as uncool as she thought. If she could just lean into that feeling of not caring as much, perhaps—just perhaps—she could be more like Tai, even if it was just for tonight.
As they moved to the cozy room, Fang tucked a stray hair behind her ear and settled into the group. Maybe it wasn’t about pretending to be someone else at all; maybe it was just about being here, laughing, and enjoying the moment.

In the cozy visiting room, the sound of clacking tiles filled the air as Hao, Sage, and Fang sat around a small table, a Scrabble board in front of them. The atmosphere was light and filled with laughter.
“Okay, Grandpa, your turn! Let’s see if you can spell anything that’ll redeem you from the last game,” Sage teased, smirking as he set down a tile.
Hao feigned offense, adjusting his glasses dramatically. “I’ll have you know that I have the vocabulary of a much younger man! Besides, did you really just play ‘JAZZY’ on a triple word score? You’re just trying to show off!”
Fang giggled, her eyes gleaming with mischief. “Yeah, Dad! It’s almost like cheating!”
“Cheating? Please!” Sage replied, grinning. “I’m just expanding my linguistic horizons. Now, what about you, Fang? What brilliant word are you going to drop?”
Fang concentrated, her tiny brow furrowing as she scanned the tiles. “How about… ‘CAT’?” she declared, placing the letters confidently on the board.
“‘CAT’? That’s the best you can do?” Sage chuckled, shaking his head. “What do you want, a medal for mediocrity?”
Hao leaned in, chuckling as he added, “At least she’s sticking with her strengths—maybe it should be ‘CUTE’ instead!”
Fang put her hands on her hips, her face animated. “You guys just wait! When I win this game, you’ll both have to call me ‘Queen of Scrabble’!”
“Deal!” Sage laughed, ruffling her hair. “But then I get to be king of snacks!”
“Only if I get ice cream!” Fang shot back, grinning as they continued their lively banter, the warmth of family echoing all around them.

As they entered Silver Lining, Sage could see Fang sitting tall on his father’s shoulders, her face lit with excitement. She looked like she was on top of the world, and Sage couldn’t help but smile at the sight.
“Hey there, superstar!” Sage called out as he approached, lifting Fang off his shoulders to give her a hug. She squealed in delight.
“Sure, what’s up?” Sage asked, kneeling down to her eye level.
“I got invited to a sleepover party with the girls from school,” Fang confessed, shifting her weight from one foot to the other. “But they’re all the ‘cool kids,’ and I feel… kind of uncool, you know?”
Sage raised an eyebrow, genuinely surprised. “You? Uncool? That’s impossible! Fang, you’re the coolest kid in Willow Creek!”
Her face brightened at his words, a smile beginning to break through her uncertainty. “Do you really think so?”
“Absolutely! You’ve got the best style, a great sense of humor, and don’t forget how awesome you are at sports! Those girls are going to be lucky to have you at the party,” he assured her with a wink.
Fang beamed, a newfound confidence in her stance. “Thanks, Dad! I guess I can give it a shot!”
“Of course! Just be yourself, and you’ll have a blast,” Sage encouraged, giving her a playful ruffle of her hair Just as Hao came down to meet them in the lobby. Poses By: @starrysimsie Piggy Back Rides

As the lights dimmed until they faded into darkness, Fang let out a relieved sigh. She had almost let her anxiety get to her, but now, cozy in her sleeping bag, she felt safe and snug.
“Goodnight, everyone!” Thistle called from her spot across the circle, her voice warm despite the shadows.
“Night, Thistle!” the others chimed back, sleepy smiles spreading across their faces.
Fang snuggled deeper into her pillow, feeling the comforting presence of her friends nearby. The chatter and laughter of the evening faded into a peaceful silence, wrapping around them like a warm blanket.
One by one, the girls drifted off, their breathing becoming soft and rhythmic. Fang felt her eyelids grow heavy and the day’s worries slip away. With one last glance at her friends, she let out a content sigh and surrendered to sleep, knowing that tomorrow would bring more fun and laughter—scary stories or not.
In the tranquility of the night, Fang knew she was exactly where she belonged. Poses By: @love4sims4 Tiny Sleepover Posepack

Kailey leaned in, her voice low as she shared a laugh with Cassy. "I'm serious, Mrs. Patel is the worst. I mean, I know she's just trying to keep us in line, but honestly, her lectures are so long and boring. I just zone out every time."
Cassy nodded in agreement, her eyes sparkling with amusement. "Oh, I know! And don't even get me started on the way she always wears those awful floral print dresses. It's like, come on, Mrs. Patel, you're 55, not 55 and trying to be a hippie grandma or something."
As they chatted, Kailey's mind began to wander, straying from the conversation and back to her own life. She couldn't help but think about her parents' divorce, which had been weighing on her for weeks. The tension between them had been palpable, and last night's sleepover at her mom's place had only highlighted the uncertainty of it all.
Her mom had been quiet and withdrawn, her eyes red-rimmed from crying. Kailey and her sister Kari had tried to comfort her, but it was clear that their mom was struggling. The thought of leaving their mom alone was making Kailey anxious, and she couldn't shake the feeling of responsibility that weighed on her shoulders.
She'd been avoiding calling her dad because she wasn't sure what to say or how to navigate the mess of emotions that came with it all. She loved her dad, but his words had cut deep when he said he needed space from them. The pain still lingered, and Kailey wasn't sure if she was ready to talk to him yet.
The sleepover was a welcome distraction, a chance to escape the chaos at home and focus on something else for a little while. But as she glanced around at the happy chatter and laughter of their friends, Kailey couldn't shake the feeling that this respite was temporary, and that eventually she'd have to face the reality of her parents' divorce head-on.
