‘’false door’’
gerçek bir kapı gibi işlev görmeyen bir kapının sanatsal bir temsili, antik mısır’da kişinin ka’sı için bir geçit görevi görmekteydi.
false door of the royal sealer neferiu
egyptians believed that the soul of the deceased could freely enter and exit the tomb through a "false door," which was characterized by a recessed surface with a symbolic entrance in the center. by the early middle kingdom, the false door design was combined with other elements on rectangular stelae. this first intermediate period monument exemplifies the beginning of that process. the texts inscribed on the jambs flanking the double door proclaim the owner’s good deeds and accomplishments.

The False Door of Mehu During the reign of Teti (𓏏𓏏𓇌) and Pepi (𓊪𓊪𓇌) I in the early part of the Old Kingdom's 6th Dynasty, Mehu 𓅓𓎕𓅱 was "Chief Justic and Vizier 𓉫𓃡𓅷". He was married to Iku, who's titles included "King's daughter 𓅭𓏏 “sA.t” of His Body 𓄡𓏏𓏤 “ẖt”". His two other wives were Nebt and Nefertkawes. He was buried 𓈎𓂋𓋴𓌟𓏏𓊭 “krs” in a tomb 𓂝𓂝𓇋𓉴 “aai” at Saqqara, discovered by an Egyptian 𓂋𓐝𓎀𓀂𓀭𓏪 “rmT” archaeologist named Zaki Saad, within the Sector of the Pyramid 𓍋𓅓𓂋𓉴 “mr” of Unas north of the Unas (𓃹𓈖𓋴) “wns” causeway and east of the mastaba of Princess Idut. The tomb was later excavated by Salam Hussein in 1940. Mehu's beautifully preserved false door (gateway to spirit world). It has an unusual style of decoration in which the limestone of the stela 𓎘𓅱𓆓𓉸 “wdj” OR 𓂝𓃀𓍋 “ˁbA” shows through dark red 𓇋𓈖𓋴 “ins” paint, which was used to simulate granite 𓌳𓄿𓏏𓏋𓊌𓏫 “mAt”, highlighting the hieroglyphic 𓌃𓂧𓅱𓀁𓊹 “mdw-ntr” (divine writing) text in yellow 𓏘𓈖𓇋𓏏𓏬 “qni.wt”. This results in a wonderfully detailed piece of craftsmanship. The false door features a stela in a niche depicting the tomb owner eating from the offerings 𓏝𓏏𓊪𓏪 “ḥtp”, and along the whole bottom of the false door are images of the standing tomb owner with his name. #egypt #egyptian #ancient #ancientegypt #hieroglyphics #ägypten #thisisegypt #egyptologist #myegypt #egyptianhistory #egyptology #archeology #hieroglyphs #madeinegypt #egypte #egyptians #egyptshots #loveegypt #discoveregypt #egitto #埃及 #مصر #egipto #falsedoor #mehu #oldkingdom #saqqara https://www.instagram.com/p/B8c597Knwes/?igshid=ha8xv2nq5cyj
