Watched the forgotten story a couple days ago and I’ve been thinking about it ever since. Since Charon knew the legend of the knight and he was presumably a family friend do you think fakir’s parents knew too? Can you imagine having your son be born with the mark of his own gruesome death across his chest?
I like to think Fakir’s parents were among the first to try defying fate. He was destined to be torn apart in ravens’ claws and yet when the ravens came for him they gave their lives to save him. And succeeded. It was because of their sacrifice that Fakir was able to go on and help end the story trapping them all into miserable fates.
I think about them sometimes. These people who knew from the very moment of his birth their son was doomed to a gruesome end but have everything to fight against that because they loved him more than they valued their own lives.
