I used to have the worst self confidence when I was younger, and I know it sounds so ridiculous, but the thing that helped me the most?

Fake it til you make it.

I'm not kidding. I used to make a lot of self-deprecating jokes, but the thing about that is you say things, even jokingly, enough and you start to believe them.

So I flipped it so instead of making jokes where I was down on myself, I started making jokes where I was full of myself. They were still funny, because obviously I was still joking, but I swear I genuinely started to gain more confidence when I started to joke about being overly confident.

I know this may not work for everyone's personality, but I swear if you can manage it it actually works. 100%

Even if you don't do that, words of confirmation can help. Again, just saying things over and over again until you start to believe them. I swear it works!
