For the writer ask game: ☉ (because as someone who frequently struggles with writer's block, I'm always looking for tips lol)
☉ what do you do when you get stuck writing?
Such a good question for me because I do quite a few things if I'm very stuck in writers block.
If it's a specific wip I'm stuck on, I am not shy from the "put it away and pick it up in week or so" club. Let it marinate before you reread and try to go on. Sometimes if it's a specific chapter giving me problems, I will just start over a chapter completely from scratch to see if my brain is just not agreeing with where I took our characters....
If I'm stuck with writing in general, I do triage! Am I overworked/stressed? Am I expecting too much from myself(perfectionist fatal flaw)? Am I not having enough fun/going outdoors?
And then depending on those answers, I may: take a break and do some selfcare, participate in another hobby (like reading, painting, crafting), focus on what's causing me stress and solving that problem first, spending more time outside in the sun, or do some new writing exercises/challenges with no intention of posting them to start fresh with low stakes.
Most of the time I enjoy writing and I'm definitely guilty of starting a new project when an old project has me feeling trapped/stuck, but it is almost a fail proof way to keep me engaged with creating/writing/participating in this hobby without getting bored and having fun!
