Your head was pounding and you felt groggy as you opened your eyes. Muffled voices were the first thing you noticed as you came too. The second thing you noticed was that somehow you were back in your bed, with the knitted quilts pulled up to your chin and it was now dark out.
Your bleary eyes scanned your bed chamber and saw that you were alone, but there was a glass of water next to your bed that must have been left for you. As if you were dying of thirst (you felt like it from how dry your mouth felt) you hastily grabbed the glass and drank down the cool water.
Feeling much better after having that water you sat up and stretched your limbs. You were still in your going out dress from this morning but all the ties have been loosened and your heavy layers were removed, leaving you only in your base dress. You were thankful for whoever derobed you but also extremely embarrassed.
How could you have fainted like that in front of not only your judgmental mother but also the Queen of the Southern Isle?! You just knew you would never hear the end of this from your mother- and that’s to say if you haven’t been utterly disgraced by Jeon family, if that happened you might just be exiled by her.
The intense stress and exhaustion must have finally caught up with you in that moment, and as unfortunate as it is that it happened when it did you were at least grateful to be back in your own space currently. You then remembered the voices and your ears picked up the sound of your fathers voice and another man outside your closed door. It sounded like your father was upset but you couldn’t make out his words.
Swinging your legs over the side of your bed you went to stand up, but a flash of movement to the right of you sent you back in shock. You were not as alone as you had thought.
A figure was crouched on the seal of your open window, his catlike eyes zeroed in on you and his posture rigid. He was unblinking as he took you in silently, a tinge of worry etched on his features.
“Minho..” You breathed, looking at him in shock. Is this real? Or am I hallucinating once again?
Minho slowly raised a finger to his lips, “Shhhh,” then he nudged his head in the direction of your door.
Just after he did so your door opened to reveal your father and the royal physician coming in to check on you. Your head swiveled from them and back to Minho but when you looked at your window he was gone.
Father was the first to notice you were conscious and he rushed to your side. “Y/n, my lovebug, how are you feeling? You had us all worried sick.”
“I am fine now, Father.” You answered, your tone timid and you did not want to meet his eye. “I apologize for worrying you.”
“Your highness really needs to be more careful.” The physician, Wonwoo, wagged his finger at you. He was still relatively new to your castle but he was very knowledgeable. “I was informed you did not eat much for breakfast this morning nor did you receive much sleep. This along with the added stress of wedding planning must have sent your highness into a fainting spell.”
“Forgive me, I had not even thought of my own health lately. All the..wedding jitters and what not.” You offered a tight lipped smile. “I will do better about it from now on, I assure you.”
“I am going to speak with the cooks to have you on a strict vitamin rich diet from now on, and I am going to put together a serum to help with your sleep.” The physician nodded thoughtfully as he prattled off your new regiment.
‘Great, another diet to make me even more miserable.’ You thought bitterly.
“Thank you, Wonwoo. We appreciate your help. And also your sensitivity about this matter.” Father tilted his head at the doctor and in return Wonwoo nodded in understanding- Tell no one of this.
“Of course, your majesty. It is my pleasure to serve the royal family.” He bowed quickly to your father then to you. “I will check on you tomorrow, your highness. For now I shall bid you both goodnight.”
Father nodded and sent a small smile to the doctor and you both watched as he left the room. Then your father turned to you. “How are you really feeling, sweetheart? It is so unlike you to be this unwell.”
With a sigh you ran your hand over your face and leaned back against your head board.Your eyes looked to the window quickly, still seeing nothing there. “I do not know. This is all very overwhelming and so sudden, I just feel so exhausted and the planning has only just begun.”
Your father took a seat beside you on the edge of your bed and took your hand in his, “Dear, I know this is not what you wanted nor expected, and I myself never wanted this life for you, but arranged marriages are not all that bad. Look at your mother and I for instance.” You gave him a look that said ‘are you kidding?’ and he offered a humorless chuckle, “Yeah bad example I suppose. Though I will say there is one wonderful thing to come from it.”
“And what would that be?”
“You. My greatest achievement was making and raising an incredibly caring and talented young woman.” He squeezed your hand to emphasize his point. “I could not think of a better person to lead this kingdom one day. And Jungkook has a wonderful reputation. His people seem to think highly of him. It is a good match.”
“Father..” You wanted to cry. He was always the softer of your two parents but he usually was not so open with his feelings. But even with his sentiment you still felt uneasy. “No matter how good the match is, I do not love him. I still cannot stomach the thought of marrying a man I do not love. I cannot be stuck in a loveless marriage.”
“It does not have to be loveless. Love can grow if you nurture it.” He urged, trying to make you see reason.
“And did love grow for you? Can you really say that mother is the person you love?”
He hesitated for a moment, “There are certain aspects of your mother that I do love. She has an incredible singing voice, when we first married she would sing all over the castle. And her smile.. One could die a happy man after seeing that dazzling smile.” You noticed the distant look in his eyes and the shadow of a grin that graced his lips. He shook his head as if coming out of a daydream. “Not everything is bad, I mean to say. There is pleasantness in company.”
You had not thought of it that way, nor had you ever heard your mother described as ‘pleasant’ in any way, but even so your fathers words did little to quell your fretfulness. Though you supposed you could see it the way that he does, that sometimes feelings can grow. Maybe giving Jungkook a chance would not be the absolute worst thing in the world. Perhaps you could find that pleasantness. Even still, the notion alone makes you incredibly uneasy.
“Do you think he will be kind to me?” The break in your voice was involuntary but you could see how heartbreaking it was for your father.
The elder man pulled you into a crushing hug, “I certainly hope so, my dear. I only ever wish for you to be happy.”
“I want to be happy, more than anything I want it.” Should I tell him how I feel like I’m on the verge of losing my sanity? Like I’m a hair away from a mental break? No, he wouldn’t understand. It is not like I can tell him I was possibly whisked away to an otherworldly land. It is better to let him remain blissfully unaware, no matter how badly I need to vent about it. “Thank you Father. I do feel much better.”
The king gave your hair an affectionate pet and a gentle kiss to your forehead as he stood up, “I am glad. You must be getting your rest now, doctor's orders. I love you, sweetheart.”
“I love you too, father.”
He gave you a smile then he left your chambers, softly closing the door behind him. With a deep sigh you fell back into your pillows, running a hand down your face as you gathered your thoughts. He meant well- he always did- but still it was not what you wished to hear. Suddenly you remembered the figure that had been crouched upon your window.
With a swivel you looked over to the window and once more there he was. Minho looked how you remembered him to be when you first met him, more human looking than when he’s in his own world. The fae man's head was tilted slightly as he took you in, his unnerving eyes burning holes into you as they scanned your form.
It was silent for a second, but your heart was beating so wildly in your chest that you were sure he could hear it. After another moment Minho broke the silence. “Are you alright, Y/n?” A response would not find its way out of you, your tongue feeling like it was tied in knots as you nodded instead. As quickly as a blink he was instantly crouching directly in front of you, making you gasp at the sudden movement. Minho narrowed his eyes as he searched for injury on you, but after seeing nothing physical he relaxed a little, giving you a touch of breathing room.
Before he could fully lean away your hand shot out and touched his arm, making him freeze in his place. You hadn’t meant to, but you just needed to know if he was real. That he was not just a figment of your imagination. “Y-your real.” You whispered.
Minho cocked his head to the side in confusion, “Of course I’m real. I am just as real as you are.” His arm burned where you were touching him; like an electric current that funneled through his skin and into his bloodstream. He could see how addictive it could be. “Now tell me, are you alright? And do not lie to me. I have seen you faint.”
“Wait, what do you mean you have seen it? Were you there?”
A slight pink tint appeared on his cheeks as he cleared his throat, looking away from your awaiting eyes. “I uh, I saw it in a vision right after I brought you home. I have been worried about you.. So I have been checking in on you every few weeks.”
It was starting to click in your brain; how you saw him in your glass at breakfast and in the street in town. You remembered how he had said time worked differently in his world- that every hour here was a week for him.
“That was you this morning.” He nodded. “And in the street this afternoon.” He nodded again, still feeling sheepish. “Minho, I thought I was losing my mind.” You admitted to him. “I thought I had made you up and that everything was a figment of my imagination.”
He shook his head this time, “No, it was real. I am real.” Minho rested his hand upon your covered leg.
Your shock turned quickly into anger, “Then I see that this is some kind of game for you.” You ripped his hand off of you. “It must be, since you keep toying with me.”
The fae scrunched his face in confusion, “Princess, I am not playing with you. I was merely worried.”
“Worried?” You scoffed, “Your kind do not care one lick for mine, Minho, do not lie to me. If this is not a game then why didn’t you come to me? Why skulk around like a phantom and make me feel utterly insane?”
He rubbed the back of his neck, “I was not sure you wanted to see me after how everything ended that night. It was never my intention to screw with your mind so heavily. I am not one to do that, not anymore. All I wanted was to ensure you were ok.” He touched you again, this time laying his hand upon yours. “After I had a premonition of your fall, I have been keeping tabs on you. I never meant to cause any harm.”
You picked up on his wording, “When you say premonition, do you mean you have visions?”
Minho gave a curt nod, “After assuming a royalty position at the Court of Stars I was granted one of the powers of the court. I sometimes get glimpses into the future. It is how I knew you were going to faint, I just did not know when.”
“You knew.. Have you had visions of me before?” Your head was beginning to hurt again, the new information that is ability allowed him to see your future.. It was a whirlwind.
He shook his head, then tossed it back and forth in contemplation. “Only one other time, back when you visited us, I saw you in the ballroom with Seungmin. I couldn’t save you then and I guess I couldn’t save you today either.” His gaze hardened as he mentally chastised himself. You could see the internal battle that dwelled within him. “For that I apologize.”
Your heart swelled with an appreciation that you couldn’t place. Why was he apologizing? Does he feel guilty for your potential harm? You thought fae did not care for human lives at all?
“Minho, it is not your fault-”
“Yes, it is.” He cut you off, still not making eye contact. “ You never should have been left alone in the first place, and now because of us you aren’t even taking care of yourself.”
An incredulous look glazed across your face, “I am taking care of myself just fine. Today was just an accident.” Now it was his turn to give you a look that said he did not believe you. “It is true! I am completely fine, you do not need to worry about me.”
“We both know that’s not true. Knowing about the fae wild- seeing its luster and mischief first hand can be overwhelming for mortals. I should have known it would be too much for a fragile mind to handle.”
A scoff left you involuntarily, “There is nothing fragile about me! I am capable of maintaining myself just fine. And anything that life throws at me.”
The faes lips curled up ever so slightly into a smirk, “then come back with me.”
Silence
You stared at him in what could only be described as derision; he was making a mockery of you once again but this time you knew better. “Do not jest with me, Minho. We both know I cannot return to the wilds, I cannot face those.. Boys once again.”
“Seungmin and Jeongin have learned better than to terrorize you, I can assure you. And I would protect you, I have also learned my lesson about leaving you alone.” He assured, a seriousness to his features, no hint of a lie anywhere.
There was a pull in your chest- more like a deep calling within you that yearns to return with him. You didn’t understand it and frankly it scared you. A lot of things about the fae scared you.
With a slow shake of your head you declined, “I cannot. It would be unwise of me. I have duties I cannot run from.”
“Hmpf.” He rolled his eyes, “You seemed pretty keen on escape last night. What has changed since then?”
“My father was right, I need to look for pleasantness in the company I must keep.” You recounted your fathers previous words, a tightness within you even as you utter the words. “It is for the good of the kingdom.”
“Spoken like a true royal,” Minho was about to say more, then he paused, his head perking up and tilting. “Lay back down.”
“What?”
Before you could demand his explanation your door burst open, hitting the wall with a bang. “You insolent little brat!” Your mother had come stomping into your room screeching. You gasped at her entry and for that split second your attention was taken away from Minho, and when you looked back he was once again gone, disappearing in an instant. “How dare you embarrass me like that!”
“Mother, I -”
“Do you know the kind of groveling I had to do today after that little stunt you pulled?” She screamed, “Now the King and Queen of the Southern Isle think you to be damaged goods! An invalid! All because you're throwing a temper tantrum at having to do your one job- what you were born to do!”
“Mother, I had no intention of-”
“It took me hours to convince them not to rescind their proposal! How could you do this to me? To your kingdom?”
“How could YOU do this to ME, Mother?” You screamed back, finally hitting a breaking point. You had never, ever, talked back to her before and the shock on her face would have made you laugh if this was any other circumstance. “How could you, my own mother, force me into a life I do not want- that I have never wanted? I have never wanted to be a ruler! I have never wanted to be Queen!”
“You do not know what you want, Y/n. You are just being dramatic like you always are.” She scoffed, rolling her eyes.
You shook your head, angry tears welling up on your lash line and threatening to fall, “Even now, after I have fainted you cannot find it within yourself to care about me at all. Have you even worried about me at all this whole time? Have you thought to ask the doctor if I am well even once?”
“Do you even hear yourself? You sound like a child. It is time to grow up, you’re too old to make a scene like this.”
There she was deflecting again instead of addressing the real problem. Was this really the woman that your father told you about? How could he find any resemblance of happiness with such a rotten person? Sensing exactly how this conversation was going to remain you began to shut down, deciding the fight isn’t even worth the effort. She’ll never see you, only who she wants you to be.
“Okay, mother.” You relented, visibly deflating back into your bed.
She huffed, “Okay? Now you have nothing to say?”
“I concede. You win. I’ll grow up.” The hurt was evident in your voice but of course the Queen chose to ignore it.
“That is good. Nice of you to finally see it my way.” She leaned forward and patted your face, not affectionately but more like as if she was petting a dog. “Now I expect you up bright and early tomorrow morning with a smile on your face, ready to take on the preparations. Jungkook will be joining us for meal planning and you need to fix your bad impression.”
With that the Queen walked out of your room without another word. A pained sigh of defeat left your lips as you sunk into your pillows and dried your eyes with your hands. That situation felt way more intense than it had to be. She was way more intense than she had to be. Usually you would be able to brush off her harsh words and abrasive attitude but not this time. No, you were not just going to sit here like a wounded dog and take her abuse.
Without truly thinking your mouth opened, “Minho.”
The faerie was quick to appear next to you once again. “Yes, Y/n?” Minho had silently observed that whole confrontation, and while it was pretty tame for fae standards he still felt incredibly bad for you.
Giving him a serious stare you grabbed his hand with both of yours. He could almost feel your fury that burned within you.
“Minho.. Take me to the wilds with you.”
Now he was slightly taken aback, but even so a grin quirked up on his face, “ What happened to having ‘duties you cannot run from’, hmm?”
A snide grimace appeared on lips, “I’ve changed my mind. I no longer want to remain here, I wish to go with you.”
Minho found himself nodding before he could mentally compartmentalize your request. He stood up to full length, hauling you up with him as he held onto your hands. “You don’t have to wish with me, Princess. I’m not Chris, a please will do just fine.” He sent you a cheeky wink.
Your face began to burn and you cleared your throat, “Please, take me away from here Minho.”
You squealed when you were suddenly lifted into his arms. Honestly at this point you should be used to it, seeing as this was the second time in twenty four hours. He let out a deep chuckle, his bunny teeth making him look extra youthful and making your heart beat faster. “Anything for you, Princess. Hang on tight.”
Tumblr media
Minho held you in his arms as he sprinted faster than humanly possible to the portal of the fae wilds. So fast you could barely blink before you found yourself back at that mystical tree. Your nerves were on fire as he set you down by the tree and you found yourself doubting your decision. Was this the right call? Running away? Would you even be safe there?
You steeled your nerves when you remembered Minho's presence with you. That’s right, you were safe. Minho promised he would be here for you. For some reason you can’t explain you trusted the fae man. A deep settled longing told you he was trustworthy. You only prayed your instincts didn’t let you down.
“Ready, Princess?”
“Yes. Let’s go.”
The sharp tingle had returned as well as the blinding array of colors that you had seen last time. Minho held onto you tightly as you were both transported into the next world. This time instead of landing on the path leading to the castle, you were now standing in the gardens beyond the castle.
It was as dark and dazzling as you remembered it to be. The vibrant swirls of pinks, purples and blues lit up the otherwise black sky as billions of stars twinkled above. Now you knew this was not a dream. There is no possible way you can conceive something so spectacular and beautiful within your own mind alone.
Peeling your eyes away from the splendor you looked back at Minho. He was also back to his more natural- more feral- form. The slitted pupils glowing and illuminating his features. Seeing him like this once again you’re beginning to think you prefer him like this.
The fae had never looked away from you during all of this and caught the way you raked your gaze over him, smirking at the wonder that dazzled in your stare as you looked at him. “Something caught your eyes, Princess?”
The embarrassment at having been noticed made your face feel inflamed and you turned away from him. “Of course, the sky is quite beautiful.”
“Hmpf.” He chuckled, willing himself to not reach out and touch the heat in your cheeks. “It is, I suppose.” Instead he offered his arm and you accepted. “Would you care to see the gardens?”
You nodded at his suggestion and he led you further into the grounds. Though it was dark here- naturally, of course, due to the court practically being a void in space-  it was lit beautifully by not only the constellations but also little twinkling lights that floated above the path, illuminating the many topiaries that littered the gardens. You remember getting a glance at a few of them from afar last time you were here but seeing them up close was a whole different experience.
Each bush and tree were shaped and carved into magnificent creatures. Some you were familiar with; such as an elephant and a large wolf. Others not so much. These other animals were fierce looking, some even seeming like crossbreeds of different species, and other ones being completely new to you.
Minho gave you small facts about some of the sculptures as you passed, telling you about the creatures they were modeled after and which court they hailed from. A few of your favorites were the Owlbear from the Spring Court and the Dragon from the Court of Flint and Flame- both being larger than life animals that you were fascinated by.
A chill ran down your body due to the cold and you mentally cursed yourself for not bringing a cloak. You were only wearing the base layer of your dress, the material being thin and not suitable for the coldness of this court. Even though you were cold you chose not to bring it up, not wanting to appear weak or stupid to the fae.
Minho noticed how you began to shiver almost immediately. His senses were able to pick up on the subtle shaking, the vibrations in the air making his own hair stand up. He wanted to help you- to warm you- but he couldn’t place why. He has never given a shit about a human before, only seeing them as blundering fools and heathens. So why does he care now? Why did he bring you back here? Why did he promise to protect you?
For the man it was unexplainable; the pull he felt towards you was incomprehensible. And while it bothered him to no end… he also kind of liked it. He would definitely need to unpack this inner turmoil later, but for now he had something else to occupy him.
Silently the fae un-clipped the front of his dark cloak, swiftly throwing it over your shoulders. You were surprised by his sudden display, “Oh uh, why..?”
Minho shrugged in nonchalance, putting his hands behind his head as he walked. “You were cold, were you not?”
“Well, yes, but I canno-”
“It is no trouble. My blood is naturally on the warmer side; a perk of being from the Summer Court. I am fine without the cloak.” When you opened your mouth to protest once again he put a finger to your lips and leaned in a little closer, making your heartbeat quicken substantially. “Hush now, just be grateful, yeah? I believe the words you're looking for are ‘Thank you Minho’,”
His lazy grin and slightly condescending words were contradictory of each other and it made your head spin. A part of you wanted to snap back at him but the other part of you wanted to go along with him in spite of yourself.
You found yourself nodding, “Thank you, Minho.” A flicker of embarrassment on your face.
He gave your cheek a teasing pat, “You’re welcome.” Then he continued walking through the grounds. You glared slightly at the back of his head then scurried to keep up with him, not wanting to be left out here by yourself.
“May I ask you a question, Minho?” You inquired, now keeping step with him.
“You may.” He permitted.
A reminder of Mara’s previous warnings rang through your mind, remembering how she said they may not be completely truthful. Even though ignoring the advice was most likely a mistake, you did not think Minho would twist his words with you. For some reason you trusted him. And you knew that would inevitably be your downfall.
“I was told you all hail from different courts. I know Chris and Felix are from this court, Jisung is from the Court of Storms, and now you’ve said you are from the Summer Court. What about the other four princes?”
Minho nodded, “Yes you remember correctly. Other than the crown princes we are all different. Hyunjin is from the Court of Flint and Flame. Don’t let his cool playfulness fool you, he can be quite hot headed when he wants to be. Seungmin is from the Autumn Court, a nosey bunch of fae that have an act for tricks.” He poked your nose playfully to prove his point, chuckling when you scrunched up your face. “Jeongin comes from the Sea foam court.” You recalled the shimmering scales that laid upon his cheeks and his serpent like pupils. “And Changbin is from the Spring Court. I don’t think you’ve met him yet. You’d like him, he's incredibly easy going. Spring fae usually are though. Sometimes to an annoying degree.”
It was a lot to wrap your head around. Seven courts all coming to rule under one together. “How did so many of you come together to rule? If you're not from this court why are you now princes of it and no King?”
“Chris and Felix did quite a bit of traveling back in the day. A few millennia ago they stumbled into our courts on their search for adventure. I met Chris when I was a part of a pirate crew created by the Crown Prince of the Summer court, the idiot almost caught the sharp end of my sword.” He snorted as he remembered it like it was yesterday. “After the death of the previous Queen, Chris was desperate to share the load that came with ruling. So he summoned his very best friends from across the wilds to come help him. It has only been a couple hundred years since then, though it seems like it was much longer.”
Minho stopped to gaze upon a large sculpted bush that again looked like nothing you had back in the mortal world. He looked deep in thought, a pensiveness gracing his features as he brushed the leaves slowly. From what you could see in his face, he looked kind of somber, like a well hidden sorrow was cracking though his hard shell ever so slightly. You looked up at the bush, understanding from context clues that this one had to be from the Summer Court.
“This beast seems very formidable.” Your voice broke him of his daze, making him drop his hand.
“Yes, it is.” He smiles fondly at the sculpture. “Chimeras are one of the most fearsome creatures in all of the Summer Court. The deserts where I grew up were crawling with them.”
“That seems like it would be terrifying, if I’m honest.” You replied, twisting your dress in your hands.
Minho clicked his tongue and shrugged, “They can be. Head of a lion, body of a goat and tail of a snake- quite a monstrous combination, hmm?” You nodded when he peered at you cheekily. “Every faerie dreads the day they come across the Chimera. Though being around them so much as a child I learned how to respect them. And how to tame one.” He winked, making you avert your eyes. He laughed at your reaction then reached for your arm again. “Let us continue.”
You looped with him once more, “How would one go about taming a beast such as that? I cannot imagine it would be an easy feet.”
“It certainly is not easy,” He began to explain while we turned a corner, “ It requires much patience and a shit ton of-”
“Nggghhh, fuck.”
Minho was cut off when you both had unknowingly walked into the most salacious situation. Your eyes grew wide as you took in the scene in front of you. Leaning against the hedges was a fae you had never seen. He had light fluffy pink hair and rosy cheeks, and his tunic was pulled up and the hem was held between his teeth. Kneeling before him was Hyunjin, the red haired fae’s face was buried into the pelvis of the pink haired man, drool dripping down his chin as he engulfed the man's member. The pink man was moaning and thrusting into Hyunjins mouth as he fisted the bright red locks.
What the hell is he doing?
At first you didn’t quite understand what you were seeing. Though by the lewd sounds emanating from them both you were beginning to. With a loud gasp you spun around quickly and your hands shot to cover your eyes. “Oh my god.”
Minho gave the two an unimpressed look, a hand on his hip and his head cocked. “Thrice in a day is crazy, even for you two.”
Hyunjin popped off of Changbin, wiping his face with the back of his hand, the other coming up to keep stroking the elder. “Hi Min,” He giggled then saw you standing there, albeit turned around. “Ooooo, hi pretty human! Welcome back.”
“The human is here?” Changbin looked over at you and dropped his shirt.
“Mmhmm,” Hyunjin hummed, “Isn’t she a cutie pie, Binnie?”
“Can’t tell, she’s turned around.” He huffed, a light moan escaping him.
You kept your front hidden, much too ashamed at what you had witnessed to turn around. You felt hands on your shoulders spin you around but you still hid your face.
“Princess, what’s wrong? Are you ill?” Minho asked. He did not know the reasoning for your sudden shock.
You shook your head violently, still refusing to meet anyone's gaze. “N-no I am not ill. Though I think I might be after witnessing that.” You mumbled that last part.
Minho took your hands and almost forcibly brought them down, his stare scrutinizing and the glow getting brighter. He didn’t know what was wrong with you, why you were behaving so strangely all of a sudden. The fae racked his brain trying to determine what the issue was when it finally occurred to him; humans are shy when it comes to sex.
“Oh I see,” He cooed, finding you more adorable than ever before. He cupped your cheeks making your head tilt up to look at him, “It’s ok, Princess. The boys were just messing around.” He snapped his head over to look at the two younger boys, “Bin, pull your pants back up, have some fucking decency.”
The two rolled their eyes but did as Minho requested. Hyunjin stood up and dusted his knees off, then sauntered over to you, pulling you from Minho and into his embrace. You yelped at how hot his touch was, the heat burning your skin slightly. “Come here! Meet Bin!”
You didn’t have a choice as you were tugged along by Hyunjin, your whole body a flame now. If you were cold before that was long gone.
“Channngbinnn, this is Y/n. Now isn’t she cute?!” He pushed you into Changbin, who caught you with a laugh.
“She sure is! Hi dear, I’m Changbin. I’ve heard soooo much about you.” You did not miss the sly smirk he sent towards Minho.
Minho felt a delicate fury begin to form within him as he observed the other princes handle you and tug you along, their hands on you making his own ball up. He did not like the idea of anyone else touching you or making you uncomfortable. Another thing he needed to work through mentally.
Small shakes were wracking you still, as you could not get over your embarrassment at walking into something so intimate. “I am so sorry.” You couldn’t help but apologize, bowing your head deeply in shame.
Hyunjin and Changbin exchanged confused looks, “Uhh, for what?”
You balked at them, “ For witnessing your private intimacy and for seeing your..”
“My dick?” Changbin finished for you, making you wince at his crude language but nod nonetheless. All three of the men laughed at your expression, making you feel incredibly self conscious under their scrutiny. Thankfully Changbin had at least put his trousers back on. He bopped you on the nose. “You’re a funny little thing, acting like you’ve never seen a dick before.”
“Well I-” You stammered, unable to meet his warm brown eyes, “Of course I have not. That would be most improper for a woman to bear witness to a mans.. Genitals. That is saved for a marriage bed exclusively.”
Hyunjin snorted from beside you, “What does marriage have to do with sex?”
“Everything. It is sinful and immoral to engage in such activities before marriage. What would your future spouse think when they find out you are tainted?” It certainly had not occurred to you how harsh and judgmental you were being but the slight narrow of Hyunjins eyes at you had you rethinking it all.
“Sinful and immoral, huh?” The red head slinked closer to you and leaned in close to your face, making you lean back into the muscle-y fae behind you. “If that is what you boring little mortals think then I must just be the devil to you huh?” The magenta hue of his irises were shining with mischief.
“No, that is not what I meant.” You tried to protest, being sincere with him but it did nothing to quell the small touch of fright. You were starting to remember how scary these beings could be, your heart picking up in speed and thumping in your chest quickly.
Changbin tsked and ran his fingers along your spine, “Ease up, Jinnie. She didn’t mean any harm, right lovely?”
“Of course not.” You agreed with him but Hyunjin was not deterred.
“Mm, I don’t knooooooow,” He dragged on, “I think she’s being a little fucking rude, a little too bold for a measly little human.” Hyunjin acted like he was going to nip at your nose, making you shriek.
Before he actually could though, Minho had had enough of your turmoil, swooping in and effectively pulling you away from the two boys, “And I think you need to cool off, Hyune.” Minho flicked him on the forehead. Minho held you to his chest, away from the other two. You clutched his shirt tightly in your fists.
“Ouch!” Steam blew out of the red heads' nostrils in anger.
Changbin could see how worked up his fellow prince was becoming and as a lover and not a fighter he used one of his gifts from his court to produce a flower from behind Hyunjins ear- a dainty orange poppy. “Here Hyunnie, for youuuu.”
You watched in awe as the fury melted off of Hyunjin instantly, his bright smile coming back as if it had never left in the first place. “Aww Binnie, thank you!” He then smothered the pink haired man in heated kisses.
“See what I mean about Jinnie being a little hot headed?” Minho whispered to you, already leading you away from the obscenity that was starting again. You were grateful for Minho, saving you from another unsavory situation. His presence was comforting to you.
You nodded, refusing to look back as you heard the slick sounds and groaning pick up again. “Do they do that a lot?”
“Sexual intercourse is not frowned upon here like it is where you are from. Princess.” Minho shrugged, you noticed he did that a lot. “The fae take great pride in their sexual prowess. It is not as serious as you make it out to be.”
That is what you could not wrap your head around. “How is giving yourself wholly to another person not serious?”
“It can be, if you’re in love with the being your fucking.” There was that crude language again, though from Minho it didn’t make you feel gross like it had from Changbin. No, it made a slight tingle alight within you.
“And are they? In love, I mean.”
“More than they let on.” He hummed. “Those two love each other with their whole being yet I do not believe either has said it explicitly. Instead they show it by dirting every part of this castle.”
“Just out in the open like that?” The cringe on your face made him chuckle and pat your head.
“Faeries usually do not care where they are or who’s around, if the urge strikes they give in to their temptations. And that does not just apply to sex, I’m sure you can assume some of the other ways.”
You knew he was referring to the human torture, a shudder making you pull your cloak closer. Your mind went to Seungmin and Jeongin, how they laughed at your fear. Your mind also went to Chris and how he said human lives are unimportant. A part of you wished to see him again, another did not.
Minho led you out of the gardens and to a back entrance to the castle. As if hearing your thoughts, there was a figure standing at the top of the stairway leading into the building. His face was soft and he looked like he was starstruck as he saw you here, in his court.
“Princess.” He breathed.

Note
I feel, deep in my bones, that one could summon fae!Felix by repeating that bit he does in Topline thrice over in a mirror: BOM DIGI DIGI BOM BOM BOM BOM and maybe it works faster if you try to 'go deep' with it... or maybe this is just stuck in my head in an audio stim kind of way and I live in the land of delulu
Tumblr media
A Guide to Summoning Your Faelix: AKA Faerie Felix / the most sweetest thing in the world.
FAE FELIX?
Ok!
SO let's do this!
Tumblr media
First, we'll need to set the mood. Obviously, we're gonna need blue. It is his favorite color. Even though poor baby was recently heartbroken because the color analyst told him that blue doesn't work for him. Even though OBVIOUSLY that is incorrect! He is gorgeous in blue. Precious baby. How dare they? Unacceptable.
Tumblr media
So, I just feel like it's absolutely NECESSARY that we include blue for the baby chick. Fuck them color swatches.
Tumblr media
NEXT! Brownies as an offering. Non negotiable. Here is his recipe. Enjoy. They are fantastic.
Tumblr media
Third.... we must call on the spirit of Bang Chan for he can always find his Lixie. Plus, he's our resident source of Lixie information. If he doesn't know, he'll figure it out for us. Bang Chan for President.
Tumblr media
Now, it's time to get down to business. This is very serious. Set the lights. Turn on the music. Look in the mirror and say it.
Tumblr media
Put all the bass you got in your voice and ..... POOF!
Tumblr media
Congratulations! You have completed your very first summoning.
Tumblr media
Now, let's discuss care for your Fae Felix.
Tumblr media
First and foremost, he is going to require lots of love and affection. If you do not feel as if you can provide adequate love and affection for your Faelix then please reconsider.
Tumblr media
If your Faelix does not receive adequate time, care and affection then he will cry. And subsequently, I will come to beat your ass.
Tumblr media
BECAUSE HOW DARE YOU! WHO DO YOU THINK YOU ARE?! DON"T YOU DARE MAKE THIS BABY SUNSHINE CHICKEN CRY! THIS MEANS WAR!
Tumblr media
And! I'm telling Minho! And he'll help me whoop ass. So be prepared and think about that when moving forward with your Faelix.
Tumblr media
Minho is watching...
Tumblr media
Always watching.
Tumblr media
Perhaps, a Hyunjinnie would be more suitable for you or perhaps a Minho. They still require love and affection but they do understand that everyone needs alone time.
Tumblr media
Though, if you do choose to summon Minho... god help you.
Tumblr media
If you have an aversion to copious amounts of physical displays of love and affection, PLEASE AND I AM BEGGING YOU... do NOT summon yourself a Changbinnie. He WILL be giving you his love and you WILL like it.
Fair warning.
Tumblr media
But back to Faelix.
Tumblr media
Now, please remember that your Faelix can handle some spice but not exceedingly so.
Tumblr media
Be mindful of his dietary needs.
If not he'll scream.
Tumblr media
On that note, you are going to need to stock up on rice cakes. Trust me. And probably fried chicken. Just do it.
Tumblr media
It is also important to note that your Faelix is also sensitive to scary things so he's not likely to be a horror movie buddy for you. If you really, really, REALLY want him to... he'll do it to make you happy. However, he will basically turn your room into a nest at night and cover you with cuddles all night long... because he's scared to death. Poor Lixie. You will have a much better experience if you pick a comedy or action. He'll still cuddle you (if you want it) but it won't be out of fear. And nobody wants a scared Lix. He deserves to be happy.
Tumblr media
Also, on this note of Fae Felix. Just so you know, you're not supposed to give fairies your name. No matter how much they beg.
Tumblr media
However, Felix is literally the one that you could tell anything and he wouldn't use it against you. You're secret is safe with him. As is your soul.
Tumblr media
Now, in summary : It's all important but here are your TOP 3 to remember!
Tumblr media
Number One: Please provide adequate love, affection and care for your Faelix.
Tumblr media
Number Two: Please mind his dietary needs and plan accordingly. Give him whatever he wants. Or else he is going to become insane.
Tumblr media
Number Three: The Final and Most Important Rule of All
Remember that Minho is watching... always watching.
Tumblr media
He sees all.
He knows all.
I know, You know, We know, Lee Know
Thank you for coming to my presentation and have a nice day.
Please help yourself to a treat on your way out. We're serving brownies. Obviously.
..............
Anyway, I hope you enjoyed this crazy tangent of mine and thank you so much for sending it in!
Love, K

⠀ꔫ˚ ༝ ◌ ⌒⌒ three strikes !
↳ jeongin swears on his life that he's seen something odd between you and felix... exactly three times, in fact, but he needs more concrete proof...
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
PAIRING: felix lee x gn!reader
FORMAT: one shot
GENRE: college au, friends to lovers, fluff, jeongin third wheeling...
WARNINGS: brief mentions of food and being sick (just the flu bug nothing huge)
WORD COUNT: 2.8k
FAE'S NOTES: this is just a little bit half-assed... idk if i have much faith in this and i believe i can do better than this but i'm gonna post it anyway for you guys! please let me know if you have any feedback, my writing muscles have basically atrophied and i need to find my rhythm again TT
Tumblr media
jeongin doesn't usually second-guess his closest friends like this, but something has changed. he knows you and felix well enough to know at least that.
you have always been hard to read. you're an independent, reliable sort of person, not outwardly emotional nor needlessly arrogant either—you tend to show your love for your friends through small, quiet gestures. felix, on the other hand, is someone who wears his heart on his sleeve—almost to a fault. always baking extra brownies to gift people, always going the extra mile, always looking on the bright side, even in the darkest of situations. he is as fragile as he is affectionate.
yes, affectionate. that's the word he's been looking for to describe the changes in your friendship with felix. you've been more affectionate. jeongin has always chalked it up to felix's own proclivities rubbing off on you given the sheer amount of time you spend together, but now... he's not so sure it's that simple. there have been three strikes jeongin has kept score of so far.
STRIKE #1
jeongin remembers it was a tuesday, because that's the only day of the week where all three of you shared classes. you would always sit in a row near the back of the class. he has made it a point to memorise both yours and felix's timetables this semester—as do the both of you with him—so he knows you don't usually have prior arrangements before coming to campus. you've always had a tradition of meeting in the lobby before walking to class together as a result.
so, when his phone pings with a message from you saying 'sorry innie, we're gonna be a bit late! pls go to class first, just save us seats', he is immediately struck with confusion. what did you mean, "we"? felix, uncharacteristically, hasn't said a word and it's already 5 minutes shy from when class starts. he always arrives at least 10 minutes before. how strange, jeongin thinks to himself as he trudges up the stairs to class, incredibly unfamiliar with the circumstance of having to do so on his own for the first time. he just brushes the nagging suspicion off, telling himself it was probably because of some public transport situation that's delayed you both—not something entirely uncommon.
it's about 15 minutes into the class before he sees you. the second he spots felix and you stumbling through the doors, profusely apologising to the professor for your tardiness, though, is when the same sensation of suspicion comes back. as you and felix shuffle to make their way to the seats jeongin saved for you, he can't help but notice your attire. you're wearing an oversized black shirt with some graphic of an anime printed on. jeongin's eyes squint as he stares at it, assuming it must have been a new purchase of yours. but he swears he's seen it before.
when you and felix take your seats and the professors picks up where she left off, felix turns to jeongin and apologises for being late. "we're really sorry jeongin, we owe you one," he quips, before he fishes his laptop out of his bag. the younger boy just shrugs it off as no big deal. plus, he had something else on his mind to worry about than harp on the two of you being late to class.
the dots quickly connect a few moments later in jeongin's head. felix has a shirt just like the one you're wearing. he swears he's seen him wearing it before, just last week when the three of you had gone out for dinner. it's been a shirt of his for years now, so worn down by so many uses that it has bleach stains on the sleeves, despite how much care felix puts into his clothing.
jeongin leans back in his chair and slowly, subtly pushes it back. he steals a glance at your side profile, thankfully without either you or felix noticing. there they were: bleach stains on the sleeves. upon further inspection, the shirt you were wearing looks way too worn out to be a new shirt—he concludes it must be felix's. but why would you wear felix's dank shirt to begin with? it would be weird to ask if that's his shirt you were wearing, so he decides to keep his silence for now.
STRIKE #2
this time, it was jeongin's turn to be late. the three of you had planned a picnic to celebrate the end of the gruelling semester—an idea felix suggested. he wanted it to be a potluck, so the each of you planned to bring something of your own making along.
jeongin wanted to go all out with his: he wanted to bake cupcakes, something felix had recently taught him how to. he wanted to show you his latest endeavours, baked fresh, but he didn't expect it to go sideways so last minute. he ended up showing up almost half an hour late, hair sticking to his forehead from all the sweat and cupcake frosting smeared all over the tupperware he placed them in out of haste.
when he finally spots the two of you amid the grass field at the park, he notices something... odd. he stops in his tracks to catch his breath and squints his eyes to get a better look. if he didn't know any better, he'd have thought you two were... holding hands? the sun was glaring directly in his face, obscuring his vision, so jeongin couldn't be 100% sure. but what he does know is that your figures were so close to each other they were practically shoulder-to-shoulder. this isn't exactly beyond felix, who is notorious for his habits of physical affection. but it is most certainly out of character for you, as someone who prefers to keep most people at an arm's length.
jeongin shrugs it off. he guesses felix nor he would be considered "most people". perhaps it was a trick of the light. he also doesn't have good enough reason to find it entirely strange—perhaps felix had gotten through to you in that regard. he had bigger things to worry about: your dinner getting cold.
STRIKE #3
the legitimacy of the third time is still up for debate, jeongin surmises. this time it wasn't your behaviour around each other, instead more so about how felix in particular reacted.
this happened over summer break. he remembers the sun being more unrelenting than ever—40 degrees celsius to be exact, he saw on the news—so you three had just decided to hang out in your bedroom, where the air conditioning is the coolest and crispiest (according to you). jeongin vividly recalls you lying on your stomach atop your bed, while the two boys were sprawled on the floor. that is, the carpet that laid over the spot where they would usually sprawl on the floor.
it was one of those 'parallel play' days, as you liked to call them. not necessarily doing things together, but doing separate things in the presence of each other, you said one time. felix was busy on his switch playing some pokemon game, you were scrolling on your phone and jeongin was just seconds away from drifting off to sleep on felix's lap.
it's been silent for, what, almost two hours now? but you end up breaking it first. "woah," you suddenly exclaimed, brows furrowing as you read something on your screen. "do you guys remember seungmin? from calculus?"
jeongin does not move an inch aside from nodding his head, and felix just lets out a little "yeah?" though his eyes were never once peeled from the console screen.
"i think he just asked me out," you tell them, bewildered.
this, of course, elicits reactions of surprise from jeongin and felix. the former lifts himself and sits up to ask details, while the other just turns the switch off—did he even save his progress on the game?—and sits there in silence as he silently watches you and jeongin discuss your classmate's... proposition. jeongin makes a playful jab at how you could have given him the wrong idea by flirting with him, which you immediately shut down. "i've never done anything suggestive to him, i swear!" you exclaimed in full defense.
seungmin has only ever made conversation with you once or twice in class, jeongin recalls. you also never really put in the effort to get to know your other classmates if jeongin and felix were in the same classes. jeongin makes a passing comment about how seungmin could pass as your type (if you squint hard enough), but it falls on deaf ears when you and felix meet each other's gazes.
"you're gonna tell him no, right?" felix suddenly chimes in after moments of prolonged silence, raspy voice cracking just a little. jeongin snaps his head to turn and look at his friend, head tilted and brow lifted. you give felix a look jeongin cannot quite describe, and chuckle with a soft smile as you nod. "of course i'm gonna say no," you assure him. he lets out a very heavy sigh of relief, but none of this goes unnoticed by jeongin.
this is very weird, jeongin remembers thinking. you have always been receptive to potential love interests, even if they weren't necessarily people you'd normally be into. so why are you so sure now that you'd reject seungmin without even giving him a chance?
on that note, what's it to felix who asks you out? why does he have a say? plus, he could've sworn he detected some semblance of... jealousy in his question. but he supposes that could be normal considering all three of you are so used to spending time with each other. jeongin does admit to himself that he'd feel lonely if you were to be whisked away by some stranger out of nowhere. it wouldn't be the same.
jeongin has theories, maybe even concepts of a theory, but no concrete enough proof for confrontation—so far. it looks like he has to wait till he does before he can address the massive elephant in the room.
FINAL STRIKE
it finally happens when he decides to stop by your apartment with take-out. you had told your friends about falling sick the night before—alas, you have caught the flu bug. they were just textbook symptoms like a low-grade fever, sore throat and a runny nose, nothing to worry about in particular, you told them. but jeongin just so happens to pass by your neighbourhood on his usual route home from work, so he decides to drop in with some chicken soup for you as a small surprise. you had already been texting the group chat the entire day about how exhausted you were to make yourself a half-decent dinner, so jeongin thought this would be a nice way to take care of his friend.
he knocks on your door multiple times to no response. maybe you're sleeping? he looks around the potted plants sitting outside your door and lifts the snake plant up, grabbing the rusted spare key tucked away from prying eyes just underneath. he quickly and quietly unlocks the front door and lets himself in. i'll just go in, check on y/n and put this soup on the table, he tells himself as he enters. maybe text you to let you know he got you dinner.
that is, until a warm aroma of what he believes to be fresh bolognese wafts to where he is at the front door. he hears the distant clanging of pots and pans coming from the kitchen, and—strangest of all—he hears... conversation? he can definitely hear you talking and even giggling, but he can't quite make out who the other person was. he's about 99% sure there was someone else in here, but could it be just a phone call? he sneaks down the hallway to the kitchen, the noises getting clearer as he inches closer. when he sticks his head out from a blind corner to peek into the kitchen, he sees it: felix plating a fresh bowl of spaghetti while you're sitting on the dining table engaged in idle chatter. a lump catches in his throat—what is felix doing here? and most importantly, why didn't he know of this? he felt momentarily betrayed.
jeongin just stands there in silence, unsure of how to confront you, while you and felix continue chatting. it's only when felix sets down two plates of pasta and goes in to plant a peck on your cheek does jeongin yelp in shock, which frightens all three of you.
felix squints his eyes, which widen in utter disbelief when he recognises the familiar facade lurking by the corridor. "jeong...in?" he asks, voice trembling a little from disbelief. when he says jeongin's name, you shoot him a similar look, but this one is more panicked and afraid. jeongin awkwardly steps out within view, but he puts a hand up to cover his mouth to prevent himself from screaming. he raises the other arm to point an accusatory finger at the both of you. you swear you just heard felix gulp next to you.
"i..." jeongin sputters. "i knew it! i knew something was going on between you two idiots!"
the verbalisation of his revelation is what completely opens the floodgates, causing the entire place to erupt in complete and utter chaos. jeongin paces back and forth with the chicken soup still dangling from his fingers as he rants about how he's caught you doing "weird stuff" a couple of times but couldn't have known, about how he's been feeling a little left out recently, how you have been looking at felix funny sometimes. meanwhile, felix just begins to talk over him with near-equal (if not more) amounts of sheer panic and distress, reaching out to him to get him to calm down while explaining that this wasn't how they had intended for him to find out.
you, crippled by the shock from jeongin's unexpected appearance, just sit there, unable to do much of anything what with your flu, just silently watching felix and jeongin form a panic attack circle jerk in your own house.
"enough!" jeongin raises his voice, which immediately shuts felix up. jeong has never raised his voice. you shoot felix a nervous look.
"i thought we were best friends," jeongin utters, the slightest hint of melancholy lacing his voice. he looks offended. you've never seen him look this offended, not even when he was accused of academic misconduct that one time. "i'm happy for you, ecstatic even! i swear i am, but really? why would you keep this for me for so long?"
you decide you should talk to him—felix is very clearly out of his depth when it comes to handling intense situations like this and he's only making jeongin feel worse with all the jabbering. you stand up from your seat on the table and walk over to him, taking your hands in his.
"i'm sorry, jeongin. we... we weren't entirely sure of how we were gonna do this," you tell him, almost in a whisper.
felix scratches the back of his neck, avoiding any and all eye contact with either of you. "we wanted to keep it quiet," he admits. "at first, at least."
you nod in agreement, and turn back to look at jeongin. "you were going to be the first person we would break the news to. not even our own parents, i swear," you divulge, while you spot felix in the corner of your eye making a silent crossed hearts gesture to double down on his sincerity. jeongin's once-tense features start to ease up a bit, but not entirely. "you are our best friend. we never want you to feel like this. we're sorry," you assure him, before pulling him into a bear hug. you feel felix join from behind you to make it a group hug.
"i don't care what you guys have going on, but don't keep any more secrets from me. got it?" your friend huffs after you all pull back, feigning some sort of authority. felix chuckles at how ridiculous he sounds—being the youngest of the three, the tone just sounds alien when it comes from him. "we would never," felix tells him, reaching out to give jeongin a firm pat on the back. "i think y/n might like you more than me anyway, they're always going, 'we should call jeongin! we should send him a photo! we should—"
your palm slaps against the lower half of your boyfriend's face in protest. "we might be dating but you're on thin ice," you glare at him, before he raises both hands to surrender.
jeongin jovially chimes in to break the tension: "can i just say, i've always felt like you'd get along. aren't you glad i introduced you to each other? you wouldn't be a thing if it weren't for me, ya know." felix and you just huff in response—he can have this.

This could be left alone, but it could also be a series... I have so many world building thoughts, but idk if I wanna do that. What do you think?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Dusk was approaching as you made your way home from your walk.
You were blessed to own a cute little home, right on the edge of a beautiful and mysterious forest. Every day you were able to take nature walks, wandering through the treeline, exploring the vegetation. Collecting materials, making sure never to take too much of what the woodland had to offer. And caring for as much as you could, though you knew you were not essential to the survival of wilderness itself.
That didn't stop you from befriending the little critters who made their home there, or from essentially finding your own second home there.
You never brought anything with you to permanently invade nature. Instead you wrapped your daily essentials in a little bindle. It usually contained a hearty snack, a book or two, endless vials and jars, your cell, and a small emergency kit. Homemade salves, balms, and tonics included.
You always had some new shiny objects for your crow friends, making sure to exchange the gifts they left for you at your designated spot. And you always made sure to leave some nuts and seeds for the various rodents who liked to stuff their cheeks. Again, you didn't need to, but they really liked sweet black walnuts and salty peanuts in the shells. Who were you to deny them that treat!
Some days you brought select crystals with you, cleaning and recharging them in the streams of spring water. Other days you'd use that same water, sealing it in jars and leaving it nearby to make moon water overnight. Those were about the only two things you ever left in the forest, always making sure to come back the next day and retrieve them.
You always carry a little basket with you too. The forest was abundant in ingredients for many different things. Your favorite is mushrooms and fungi.
There were many times you'd find a log of an oak tree, fallen over and resting on the ground. A bunch of chicken of the woods growing on it. You'd collect them, taking them home to cook for dinner or other meals.
Other days you'd find lion's mane, and make sure to gather some for your favorite tincture to make and take. It did wonders for your anxiety.
You were a green witch through and through, and you were raised this way. You drew your energy and essence from nature, always taking little bits of it home.
Today was no different. Forgoing mushrooms, you instead had bundles of mugwort and a jar full of mulberries in your wicker basket. Wrapped in a little cloth were a bunch of spicebush berries.
You were nearing the last clearing within the woods, your house was about a ten minute walk away at this point.
The soft moss against your bare feet was grounding, and you were listening to the buzz and crackle of nightlife within the forest. Your white skirt ended at your knees, flaring out. The chiffon is blowing in the cool breeze. It was still tshirt weather, and that's exactly what you wore on top. A fitted one, pale and muted ivy green. You gave up on bras long ago, you were a solitary creature anyways. The friends who did visit never cared about your attire.
You were in your own world, playing a balancing game on a stump and humming to yourself, when flashes of red caught your eye.
In the clearing, scattered in a broken circle, was fly agaric.
Your heart fluttered at this rare find. You walk past this clearing daily, and never noticed any of the red mushrooms with white speckles there before.
Eagerly, you approach. In the back of your mind, warning bells are going off. Thinking back to childhood, of the stories your mom once told you of the fae folk. You'd encountered fairy rings before, but never of this type of mushroom, and never broken ones. Certainly never one so big. You never breached the little white rings in the past, not wanting to mess with entities so possibly mischievous.
But it would be fine right? This might not even be considered a fairy ring. It was sort of... circle-ish? But not really. There were so many gaps in between them, it wasn't a perfect circle like you'd seen in the past. And these mushrooms were so rare and so powerful, in so many ways. You could feel their energy radiating around you.
You glanced around, searching for any signs of immortal creatures lurking near. You saw and heard nothing, but that would be typical. They never willingly reveal themselves, in fact... You've never seen one. You've never seen any kind of fae folk. It's not that you didn't believe in them, you were sure some form of them existed. Afterall, you practice a form of magick. Your own form, and that exists.
You were convinced all mythical creatures either exist or had existed, the idea of them couldn't come from nothing. Not when they were in so many stories across all different cultures.
You paused for a few more moments, really trying to feel any negative energy. There was none, there was never any in your little forest.
So, tentatively, you took a few steps forward. Then you paused again, waiting for something to pop out.
Nothing.
You giggled to yourself happily, and then bent down to pluck the mushrooms from the marshy earth.
They all varied in size, some were large with bulbous caps. Some were shorter, and had flatter caps. Each mushroom, you made sure to pick with a cloth barrier between them and your fingers. These could be deadly if used the wrong way or taken in excess. You had no idea what would happen if you came into direct contact with it, on your bare skin.
You really should start carrying gloves with you.
You made your way around the broken circle, humming in between giggles, and unconsciously dancing. You were nearly prancing each bare step to the next.
If you had paid more attention to your mothers tales, you'd realize the consequences of stepping inside a fairy ring were already taking effect.
You were collecting more than you needed now, your basket was overflowing. But still, you didn't want to stop. You felt strangely overcome with merriment. You never felt more at home in these woods than this moment.
You mindlessly set your basket down, your humming growing in volume. You looked to the sky, as you allowed your body to sway back and forth. Arms stretched out towards the waning moon, coming to life in the dark sky surrounding you.
Your eyes closed, soaking in the moonlight. And you brought your arms back down, letting them float at your sides as you twirled, and twirled. Your skirt flutters up to reveal your thighs even more, hair whipping in your face. You revelled in the feeling of the squishy dirt beneath your feet. You felt grounded, but as if you were flying all at the same time.
You don't know when your solitude was breached, or if you were ever truly alone in the first place, but you finally noticed his presence when his hands intertwined with yours.
He was twirling with you, spinning you in circles.
He was nearly glowing, strawberry colored lips revealing the sweetest smile you'd ever seen. His long, straight white hair framed his face stunningly, tendrils of it outlining his strong jaw line. And his face... so, perfect. He had hundreds of freckles splashed across his cheeks, nose and eyes. Even some scattering up to his hairline, and down to his chin. You'd imagine you could create many constellations with them, like the stars that twinkle in the night sky. He adorned various jewelry, all silver. In his ears, and a cuff across the bridge of his nose. He even wore a gorgeous crown that laid across his forehead as a head piece. It was thin, and wiry, made up of gorgeous silver filigree that shone in the moonlight. You knew that the rings you felt in between your fingers would be silver too.
He wore all white. You couldn't be sure exactly what his outfit was, but his shirt was a flowing lace up top. Revealing delicate collar bones and toned chest. It was mostly a blur in the midst of his movements.
Your gasp was delayed, only coming out when he pulled you closer to him. Your hand remains in his, while his arm is wrapped around your waist. You were nearly flush with him, feeling the rest of his chiseled torso against your plush body. But he kept your face at some distance to maintain eye contact. The smile never slipped from his lips.
He has you captivated, and the two of you don't falter in your melodic movements once. His eyes bore into you, dark and sharp. Yet he exuded a certain softness, and you found yourself lost in the moment. It didn't seem real.
But it was.
You were seeing him. In all his glory, ever mysterious and breathtaking. The most handsome man you've ever laid eyes on.
You were hearing him. He was humming the same tune you were, an old lullaby your mom used to sing to you. His voice was deep, and even, harmonizing with your breathy high pitched voice beautifully.
You were feeling him. He was touching you, his hand interlocked with yours. His grip around your waist is gentle but possessive. He held you like he didn't want to break you, but knew if he was too loose, you'd go running.
Though you weren't so sure you would run.
Your mind was racing. There's no way you could stumble across a perfect stranger, who was immediately dancing with you, so close to the edge of the forest. So close to your house. Maybe this was some sort of hallucination. A side effect of being surrounded by so many toxic mushrooms.
The mushrooms.
That was it, it all clicked. Too late did the rest of your mother's words ring in your ears.
His aura, his energy, his perfect pixie-like features. You noticed the point of his ears now, the glittery sheen to his skin. His smile is full of white pointed teeth, dull now, but you could tell they were once sharper in the past. His slight cat-like eyes, giving them that sharp look even though everything else about him screamed delicate.
Your humming stopped, but his didn't. Your mother's voice is filling your head, and you were repeating the words she once told you so long ago.
'and if you're caught, the fae folk will punish you. You'll be dancing within the ring until you faint from exhaustion.' you whispered quietly.
His smile only grew, a glint lighting up his eyes.
He finally spoke, his chest vibrating against yours, "Wise words, from a magnificent young lady."
He had an accent, you couldn't quite place it. Something between old english and australian. It made you want to melt.
He started laughing, and you were sure that if he didn't have a grip on you, you would've slid to the ground.
You've both stopped twirling, but he's still moving you, moving with you. Swaying back and forth.
"Who are you?" You ask curiously.
"Who?" He chuckles, "Usually it's 'what are you', that people ask me. Though it's been almost a century since I have revealed myself to a mortal."
A century? Your mouth dries, and you feel something akin to fear course through your veins. But you aren't scared of him for some reason. Wary, suspicious, but not scared.
"You're different though, you seem to have at least a diminutive amount of knowledge of my realm."
You want to get angry at that comment. You'd like to consider yourself well informed and educated on all supernatural and magickal subjects. There'd always be more to learn though, and the human brain simply could not grasp it in its entirety. So he wasn't wrong.
You're still saying nothing, dazed from his presence. So he continues.
"You were right when you said fae folk." He assures.
"You're a fairy?" You whisper, wonder dazzling in your voice.
At that he laughs again, and you swear you hear small chimes behind it.
"An elf. I believe that is the universal name humans gave us. Not all fae are fairies, there are others too."
As he speaks, he lets go of your hand, bringing his fingers up to brush strands of hair from your face. His touch is warm, for some reason that shocks you.
"Elf." You repeat, not a question, but a statement.
He hums, in agreement and starts to twirl you around again. His hand resting on your cheek, thumb brushing featherlight touches against it.
You're trying very hard to wrap your head around the entire scenario. You shouldn't be surprised. You've dealt with other worldly things in the past. Spiritual realms are completely different from anything having to do with the fae world though.
Worry floods through you again once you realize what's happening.
"Am I being punished?" You lip quivers as you speak, "I-I was just trying to collec-"
He's bringing his head down, his forehead meeting yours. You feel the cold bite of the silver headpiece touching your skin. It's enough to shut you up.
"Shhh, darling. Don't view it as a punishment."
"I don't want to dance until I pass out." You slowly say, even though your body feels otherwise.
Underneath the initial shock and caution, you still felt that overwhelming happiness. It was borderline euphoric... and strangely arousing.
Everything happening inside your mind and body right now was so confusing. You were feeling lost, and found yourself clinging to the man--the elf, before you.
"You pretty creature, don't worry. Danser dans le ronds de sorcières... that's for children."
French? This being was a riddle.
"I don't understand." You force out.
He leans back a bit, so he can look into your eyes and your thighs clench, "We tell the kids, fae and human, that if a mortal is caught within our rings. They dance to exhaustion. The humans carried this myth with them into adulthood, while our kind later learned the truth of these special rings."
He's still dancing with you, moving your body elegantly to a now imaginary song. Leading you in something reminiscent of a waltz, but you can barely focus on that when his touches are electric against your skin.
"The truth?" You ask.
He's dipping you down now, bending with your body as he once again is peering into your eyes. At first you think it's part of the dance. Until your back meets the land that was underneath your feet. The mixture of smells was potent. The scent of damp moss, and semi-sweet foliage filling your nose.
He hums again, "It was never an entire lie, it always started off with dancing."
The timbre of his voice was pooling wetness in your panties. You felt beads of sweat forming on your brow, and you were bewildered at how your body was reacting right now. It didn't make sense.
His body is hovering over you now, his face coming close to yours. His nose is brushing along yours before he speaks again.
"What better way to set the mood than a passionate dance, and in this case, under the moonlight?"
You whimpered, feeling disoriented and needing his touch.
"I don't even know your name.", was the only thing you managed to mumble.
He chuckled, and you felt his breath puff against your lips, "It's unimportant darling, but since you're so... alluring. You can call me Felix... I'd love to hear it rolling off your tongue when I make you cum."
You were mewling at the thought of fucking this mystical being, when you felt his lips against yours.
He was almost lazy in the way he kissed you. Seemingly in no rush at all. And it's not that you were complaining, but you wanted more. So you wrapped your arms around his neck, forcing his body flush with yours.
He was smiling against your lips now, and you took the opportunity to swipe your tongue across his bottom lip, begging for access.
"So eager. Patience little dove. You'll get what you desire and more."
You knew it was absurd to lust after a man--an elf, gods how could you keep forgetting that, that you just met. But your body was burning and it felt like he was your only rescue.
His hands wandered your body, groping and massaging every inch.
He had your leg wrapped around him, his hand trailing down the back of your thigh and his lips attached to your neck. He was marking you with what you imagined to be the most beautiful bruises. You were panting at this point, and it felt ridiculous to be this turned on by so little. By a stranger. But it didn't make you want to stop.
His fingers reached the edge of your panties, and you gasped. You felt his smile again, he was enjoying every bit of this. You felt powerless to his strokes against you. Your hips were bucking up, chasing for friction.
His hand gripped your hip tightly, fingers squeezing into your flesh, pinning you further into the dirt.
You hissed before whining, begging "Please."
"I said be patient." His voice was stern as he spoke against your ear.
It still didn't stop you from squirming beneath him, your mind wasn't registering anything beyond wanting to feel him filling you up.
He brought his face back to yours, eyes gleaming and the most naughty expression written across it.
"Fine. As you wish, little dove. But don't forget, I was trying to ease you into this."
He tore your panties off of you, and his fingers were rubbing against you harshly, sending jolts of pleasure through you.
"A-aaah!" You were moaning loudly, his movements jarring.
"This is what you wanted darling, isn't it?" He's muttering against your lips now, slipping his fingers into you.
Your body feels more alive than ever, waves of pleasure washing over you. His fingers skillfully curl inside you, while his thumb works your sensitive bud. Swipe after swipe, eliciting more and more of your arousal onto his hand.
His kiss is searing, and feels like the only thing currently keeping you anchored to your body. You felt your orgasm building quickly, the band growing tighter and tighter in your stomach. It felt like you'd float away when it snapped.
You can't contain the lewd noises you're making. Between the moans he's swallowing from your lips, and the loud squelching from between your thighs, it was deafening. Or maybe it was just that your ears were ringing.
It felt like only seconds later when he brought you over the edge, his movements slowing but never stopping. You're whining, and your legs are trembling but you don't want him to stop. You're nearing over sensitivity and when you close your eyes, you see nothing but stars.
All you can think of are the freckled constellations on his cheek.
You feel drunk on this moment, and you don't want it to end. It's as if he knows exactly where your mind is when he speaks again.
"You're not done little dove, don't you worry your pretty little head."
When you open your eyes, and tilt your head up, his shirt and pants are discarded. Revealing a dizzying body. He was lithe yet chiseled. His body is almost dainty, but each muscle is carved in the most irresistible way. His abs were glorious, your eyes trail lower, following the v cut. You notice the faint spattering of a happy trail, and your eyes follow it.
And fuck.
You've never been one to view someones cock as pretty but... his was. The tip was so swollen and pink, and leaking generous amounts of precum. Faint blue veins prominent along the shaft, and he stood tall and proud. His girth made you wonder if you could handle the stretch. It had been a while since you'd last been intimate.
He brought his hand, covered in your slick, to his member. Spreading it all over in a mixture with his precum, making it glisten. Your mouth started to water, and your legs spread wider for him. You pulled your skirt completely up, presenting yourself to him.
His jaw was slack, mouth hung open as he watched you, fist pumping himself slowly.
"Such a good girl for me darling, aren't you?" He said with that charming smile.
There was something about the way he looked at you, while doing such a perverse act that had your juices dripping down you.
Then he was on top of you again, cock sliding into you. Your entire body tensed at the intrusion and you wailed, a mix of pain and pleasure. But it was so satisfying, you couldn't get enough. Your arms wrapped around his neck again, and he was thrusting into you at a brutal pace.
Your back was digging into the ground, and you started to feel bits of grass and dirt against your skin. You pulled against him, trying to adjust yourself so you could lose yourself in the dance you two were now performing.
He pulled out of you, and sat back on his knees, that's when you noticed his clothes underneath him. You had no idea he was wearing a cape earlier. It was sprawled out, creating a barrier between him and the ground.
He picked you up, and positioned you to straddle his lap, facing him. Then he slid back into you, your eyes rolled back, and you let out a filthy moan.
This position felt more intimate but still desperate, he was reaching deeper into you. The head of his cock pistoning against your g-spot. It felt so good you could cry.
You were crying, you realized.
"Shhh, little dove, you're taking it so well. It feels so good, doesn't it?"
"Yes!" You sob.
He's wiping the tears from your eyes with his fingers, and smiling at you like you're the most precious thing on this planet.
"That's right, pretty. So pretty when you cry." He groans out, and his pace grows faster, rougher.
His hand dips down between you, and he's toying with your clit now. In any other circumstance, you'd be embarrassed by the way your body uncontrollably trembles. Your muscles are spasming at his touch. You just couldn't bring yourself to care, he was making you feel too good.
"Darling," He purred, as he slowed his thrusts and pinched your clit between two fingers, rolling it, "I want you to look me in the eyes when you cum for me, can you do that?"
You were mewling as you nodded your head frantically, feeling your peak rush towards you.
At that he started fucking into you harshly, almost painfully, and you were coming undone with a loud cry on top of him. Your body tensed, nails digging into his shoulders, struggling not to throw your head back. His hand that was playing with you, gripped your jaw, smearing your own arousal on your face.
He was making sure you kept your word, maintaining your gaze on his while you clenched around him. Your eyes were fluttering as you tried to keep them open. He was biting his lip, eyebrows scrunched together as he fucked you through your orgasm. Watching your face contorted in pleasure.
"So tight." He grunted.
You were scratching at him now, nails dragging down his shoulders. And your mouth was hung open in a silent scream, your voice having given up on you.
It was becoming overwhelming.
You still didn't want it to stop.
"I know you can take it darling, take it." He growled, gripping both your hips now to steady you.
So you did, until you were limp in his arms, and he was releasing into you with a groan.
Your head was resting on his shoulder. Sweaty skin sticking to each other, and he was soothing you. Humming and stroking your hair gently. You were breathing heavily, trying to come down from this mind blowing experience. But you weren't descending, not mentally. You were still riding that high, stuck in a lust filled haze.
He started to roll his hips tantalizingly slow, and you hissed at it, feeling slight pain. Mostly you were shocked he was still hard.
His chest vibrated while he quietly laughed, "Did you forget the 'more' part, darling. I keep telling you, we're not done yet."
You whined at the sensation of his gentle movements.
"Shhh, there there." He's teasing you, "Are we a little sore?"
"Yes." You breathed.
"I can fix that."
You gasped when he slid out of you, hating the fact that you felt so empty.
He was positioning you to lay down on his clothes, taking care that no part of you touched the ground. You just let him handle you, molding your pliant body however he wanted it.
His hands were rubbing down your arms, and he was smiling down at you. When you met his eyes, you couldn't explain the exact emotions you were feeling. You'd let this man take your soul if he asked right now.
He was licking his lips as his hand trailed back to your core. You gasped again, then whined when he dragged his fingers through your swollen folds. His touch was almost massaging, yet sensual. He was touching everywhere, teasingly avoiding your sensitive bud.
The more he touched you, the more you writhed. And sensing another comment about how you can't be still or patient, you yanked him down to you so you could kiss him.
You were tired of just laying there, you wanted to start giving. To start touching.
You didn't know where all this stamina came from, but you were determined to use it. You jerked your hips up, leaning more into his touch.
It wasn't until you reached down to wrap your fingers around his length that he paused his movements.
He was still slick with your cum. And you used that to give him slow strokes.
He let out a hoarse moan against your lips, before pressing his fingers directly on your clit, rubbing in small circles. He was matching your tempo directly. You whined into the kiss, your hand picking up pace. Pumping him faster now, and he followed your lead.
Or so you thought, just as you felt your climax starting to build, his fingers were being pulled away.
He took your hand off him, and then crawled down your body, coming face to face with your core.
"So pretty, even here darling."
You were blushing at his words, but you couldn't take your eyes off of his, as he stared at you from between your thighs.
"Still sore? Let me make it feel better, little dove."
And you felt his tongue lave through your folds. It was gentle and it felt hot, and it drove you crazy. The flicks of his tongue against your clit were maddening, and you wanted more.
Your hips started slowly moving against his face, and this time he let you. He lets you roll your hips, and grind against his face. His tongue flattened against you, and you slid your hand into his blindingly white locks. You started grinding against him harshly, losing all sense and control of your body and just focusing on climaxing.
He let himself be used by you, and as your grip in his hair tightened, so did that feeling in your stomach. You felt another orgasm come over you, and he let you ride it out, quite literally.
You expected to start feeling spent by now, but you didn't. So before he could climb back up your body to kiss you, you were sitting up and pushing him onto his back.
He landed on it with a thud, puffing out air and looking at you incredulously.
You let the primal urges take over as you lowered yourself onto your stomach, and took his member in your hand. You licked up the underside of his cock, your eyes never leaving his. He groaned as you watched his eyes roll into the back of his head.
You placed a soft kiss on the tip, and licked the strings of precum off your lips.
"Fuck..." He whispered.
"Let me return the favor." You mumbled before you took his tip between your lips.
You let your tongue swirl over it a few times, savoring his taste. He brought his hand down to your face, and pushed your hair back for you.
You let your tongue run down the underside of his cock, and you sunk your mouth onto him. You had completely engulfed him, and were struggling not to gag. Still, you never intended to stop.
He was grunting as your head bobbed up and down on him, saliva collecting at the corners of your mouth and dripping down to pool at his pelvis.
"Making--ah fuck--such a mess for me, darling." He groaned.
He lets you keep at your own pace for a while longer before he starts thrusting into you. He kept your head in place, and you gagged and tears started running down your cheeks. Each stroke became more and more erratic, until ropes of his hot cum were shooting down your throat.
He pulled you off of him and you gulped down breaths of air. He was caressing your cheek, swiping a mix of tears, spit and cum from your lips before kissing you.
That's how you both continued throughout the night. Pleasuring each other, nearly non-stop, under the moonlight. Your mind was fractured, nothing else but him existed inside of it. He'd touched, fondled, massaged, and embraced you, until you could only respond with breathy whispers of his name.
"Felix..." You sighed, when he was bringing feeling back to your numb legs by massaging them.
"Felix..." You moaned, as he slowly took you as you both laid on your sides.
"Felix..." You screamed as you came undone on top of him, riding him roughly.
He took you in many different positions, and you indulge yourself in each one. When he wasn't fucking you, you were whining in complaint and going down on him. If he wasn't going down on you, he was edging you with his fingers. Your hands never left each other's bodies, always needing connection. You were sure he was just as familiar with your body as you were by this point.
The exhaustion finally hit when he had you on your back in a mating press. The last thing you remember, is staring up into the twilight sky. Dawn was approaching, the stars were disappearing before your eyes, as the golden glow of the sun started to peek through.
Your eyes were fluttering as you fought unconsciousness, determined to finish fucking this completely ethereal creature. Felix was barely putting in an effort to fuck you, but he still slid in and out of you at an agonizingly slow pace, as if he wanted to keep your orgasm at bay. You both wanted to extend this moment in time, but your body wouldn't have that.
When you finally let go, cumming on his cock for what felt like the hundredth time. That's when your eyes shut and you gave into the exhaustion.
Tumblr media
The familiar scent of nag champa incense filled your nostrils as you started to come to.
Your bedroom, permanently infused with your favorite scent to burn, that's where you were. The familiar feel of your sheets beneath you, and your heavy comforter confirmed that.
Your mind still felt a little cloudy as you started to recall how you got to your bed from the forest.
That's when you feel a body next to you and your eyes shot open.
"Felix?" You croaked, your voice dry and hoarse.
He was laying next to you on his side, in your bed, in your house.
He had the blankets pulled up to his waist, and was resting his head on his hand. Elbow propped up, so he could see you better. He was shirtless and he wore that same smile on his face, like he was so fond of you.
"Is that still the only thing you can say, little dove?" He whispered teasingly.
"How- I mean, why-?" You stutter as you attempt to sit up in bed, but your entire body aches.
You hiss at the burning sensation you felt between your legs. And your legs, gods, you don't think that they've ever felt so sore.
"Easy darling, you need to rest." He said as he helped you sit up.
He reached over to his side of the bed and handed you a glass of water, motioning for you to drink.
You eyed him curiously as you sipped your water, finishing it rather quickly when you realized how thirsty you were.
"I ran you a bath and kept it hot, when you're ready we should wash you up more."
"More?" You questioned him.
"I did clean you up last night, I'm not a monster. The bath will help ease your muscles." He chuckled.
"How did you even know where I live?"
"It's not hard to figure out, we weren't that far from it. Your house is the only one for miles."
You still felt guarded around him, even after the night you shared. If the stories your mother told you turned out to be partially true, you could only imagine what other lore could turn out to be true.
Now this mischievous creature knew where you lived, he was in your home.
"I know this is your sacred space little dove, I don't intend to intrude. However, I couldn't exactly leave you in the state you were in. How are you feeling? Is your head a little clearer?" He spoke softly as he brushed his fingers through your hair.
It is. Almost all of that dazed feeling was gone, you felt more lucid. In that clarity though, a rush of embarrassment hit you. You felt your skin heat up at the more clear memories of last night.
You were never the type for hookups or one night stands, yet the things you did with this perfect stranger... This perfect magickal stranger... they felt unspeakable. You'd never lost yourself so completely in someone else's presence, much less with your own... sessions.
You hide your face in your hands and rub at your temples, trying to make sense of this entire situation. Of your own feelings. You didn't exactly regret it or hate it. Something still felt off. Not only was the entire act abnormal in general, and downright questionable. But it was so out of character for you. Did he use... compulsions? Did he have that type of magick?
"Thinking too hard will just exhaust you more." He said.
"Look..." You sigh, as you turn to face him, "I'm a little lost here, I don't know what to make of this all."
Next thing you know, he's off the bed. He's picking you up in his arms, and you notice you're both still nude. Your face flushes again at that, and you struggle a bit in his arms.
"Be calm darling, I'm just taking you to the tub. We can talk about it all."
You let him place you in the tub, and then he's sliding in behind you. Slotting you between his legs. He's pulling you back towards him, so you lay against his chest. You both sit like that for a few moments, absorbing the heat from the bath and getting used to each other in a new type of intimate way.
You should be kicking him out of your house. You should be cussing him out. Defending yourself, but why didn't you feel the need to defend yourself against him? Why were you drawn to him?
When you think about the facts, some would say you were attacked last night. I mean there's a reason the Fae call it a punishment You didn't feel attacked though. You enjoyed yourself, as crazy as that is to say.
You always knew you were an adventurous soul, but you never thought to this extent.
How do you come to terms with actually feeling okay with this whole thing, when you knew you shouldn't be?
"You're a witch, right?" He suddenly asks you, breaking your train of thought.
"I am... though I'm beginning to question the validity of that title, seeing as I have an actual magical creature behind me." You mumble.
You knew the magick you practiced was real. You could feel it. It's not like you could create fire though, or move things, or transfigure things in front of you. You weren't even sure Felix could do any of that as an elf. You weren't sure of anything anymore.
You felt like you were entering an existential crisis. Panic was starting to settle within you when you felt his chest vibrate with laughter, it was an oddly soothing sensation that you know you've felt before.
"No, you are. I can sense it, it's in your blood. It took me a while to piece it together, but you are a witch through and through. Sometimes humans don't know of their tie to the magickal world, but I figured... from your altar, among other objects and ingredients I've noticed here, that you knew."
You hummed, your mother always told you that you were a part of a long line of witches. She raised you heavily within her practice. You never doubted her, but somehow this new revelation made it so much more real. You realize this was opening a whole new aspect in your own practice. A hidden world, seemingly waiting for your return.
"Is that why you came to me? Because you sensed a witch was near?" You questioned him, your hands playing with the water.
"No, you stepped inside my fairy ring. I have to say I was shocked. I placed it in, what I thought was, an inconspicuous area. I hadn't realized your home was nearby."
"Okay, I'm going to need you to explain." You sighed.
"Well... you already know what I told you yesterday. The stories you were told, were passed down by your ancestors and other mortals in general. You don't really just dance in fairy rings, that's a small fib we tell the children. As more human children found the rings, when we'd find them dancing. We'd send them off, warning them if they came in again that we would have them dancing until they faint. When our own children wandered into them curiously, we'd tell them the same thing until it became time for them to learn. It's just something stupid the ancestors came up with, I don't know... It does always start out with a courting dance though, but the main reason for them is, inside a fairy ring... you mate. They're essentially a part of an ancient mating ritual."
At that you nearly jumped up to smack him, but he was a step ahead of you. His arms tightened around your body, pinning your arms to your chest.
"MATING?!" You screamed at him, trying to turn your head and make eye contact, "I don't fucking wan-"
"Please, calm down little dove. It's not possible for me to actually breed you. That requires an entirely different ritual, one that hasn't been performed in centuries. I'm not even sure anyone would know how to perform it these days..." He trails off.
"So then why even lay these stupid Fae traps for humans anyways?!" You screech.
"They're not traps, and they're not meant for humans." He says defensively, and you can hear the pouting in his tone, "Think of it like this. You know how some penguins build big and pretty nests to attract a mate? It's kind of like that. It's a lot to explain in detail, and I had to create one. Now that I'm of age, it's expected of me to find a partner. Even if I don't find the need to."
"And why do they exist in this realm if they're not meant for us?"
"Well, a long time ago, back when there was only this realm, and there were more Fae than humans, they came across one. That fairy was so angry at the human for intruding on something so intimate of his, and he threatened the human with a punishment. Before any of the other Fae could stop him, he entered the ring. When they both were inside of it, they were overcome with the magic of the ring. The courting dance had started, and no one else was able to enter. The desire for each other grew. In his anger he must've forgotten what the ring's intention was, and was only focused on punishing the human. But he never got that far. They ended up... mating. They never separated from that night, spending their lives together. It was millenia ago. It created an uproar though. Our kinds had never joined before that way."
You sat and listened, calming down a bit as he told you this story.
"There were battles, not an outright war but there might as well have been. They grew to love each other, and they led the winnings of those battles to stay together. They opened the door for Fae and humans to be together, but it has always been frowned upon from both sides."
There was an entire history of this world that you had never known. One that you could never even imagine to be true. But it is. Before your mind let you delve into it though, you thought back to something he said.
"Overcome with magic? These rings hold compulsions over beings?" You questioned hastily, needing to confirm your suspicions.
"No. It's not like that..." He sighed, "Didn't you feel different last night?" He continues, "The mushrooms release something like a pheromone. An aphrodisiac, to enhance your sexual stamina. Among other mood boosting and energy boosting properties. It starts by uplifting your mood, making you feel the happiest you've ever been. Then you start dancing, your energy building up in preparation for what's to come. It's not until your partner enters that the aphrodisiacs start releasing. But it doesn't just take away your consent like that. Both parties have to be willing... it needs to be mutual. Though that's not to say that's not how every instance turns out. Evil exists in all realms."
You shivered at his words, trying to process everything. You could clearly remember the primal urges taking over, the need to constantly be filled. It explained that off feeling, why you were acting so out of character. But you couldn't deny that you had wanted it.
Craved it.
You never tried to stop it, never wanted to stop it... In fact you initiated it to an extent.
He started talking again, "That's why I couldn't just leave you there. Especially not in that forest, where other creatures lurk and might find you. I never felt anything dark there, but that doesn't mean it won't come along. I brought you home. I cleaned you up, I made you drink because you were getting dehydrated. I cared for you."
He was loosening his grip around you to rub your shoulders. It made you think back to the skilled massages he gave you last night, in between all of the sex. He made sure to take care of you the whole night it seemed.
"But none of this answers my question from earlier, why not place the rings in your own realm now? Why would any of the Fae place them here?" You asked.
"There are many different reasons..." He mumbled, "Some of them do it because they want to experience sex with a willing human. Some of them do use them as traps for humans, and those Fae are disgraceful, downright evil. Most of those types have been banished from the realm I come from. But some are like me. We try to hide them, from everyone. Because even though we're required to have them, we don't want to use them."
Then you thought back to his previous words, "Wait... 'find your partner' you said? Are we- do we have some sort of bond now?"
The silence was thick in the air. You waited for him to speak, but he didn't, so you turned around in the tub to face him. Your legs spread out on top of his, as you half straddled his lap.
His eyes stared into yours, expressionless. It was much colder than his usual warm aura, so you grabbed his hand to hold it, and asked again in a softer tone, "Do we?"
"We don't have to. It's not permanent. Most Fae who get humans within their rings leave them there once they've passed out anyways. Humans don't have the same stamina as we do, even with their boosted energy from the ring. The first woman passed out, that's where the ancestors got their silly tale from." He spoke tightly, like he was debating even revealing this bond at all.
"I see." You replied, even though you had many more questions and didn't have a full grasp on it all.
Not much made sense. In a span of hours you found out the true existence of a hidden realm, and these magickal creatures. You met one, you slept with him, then you actually slept with him, and now you bathe with him. You talk with him, as if all of this is a normal day.
It should all unsettle you more than it actually does. You should be freaking out, 100% meltdown level. This is the story of fairy tales, and maybe not a good one. This could be the big bad wolf and you could be little red riding hood. But somehow, you were comfortable in his presence. Comfortable enough to want to spend more time with him. To learn more, about him, his world, and this new bond.
So you leaned forward and wrapped your arms around his neck, giving his lips a small peck.
"Maybe we could... figure it out together? See what happens next, if you explain more to me, that is."
His eyes lit up with hope, and his charming smile returned to his face. The thought that you could wake up every day to that smile entered your head quicker than you could blink.
You'd figure something out. You had to. He couldn't leave your life now. Not when it seemed like it was just getting started thanks to him.

Hello:) I was wondering if you do a reading for how Stray Kids would be like with a sensitive s/o ( like the one for enhypen)? Thank you!!!🩷
Mhm!
*Disclaimer: Solely for fun. Please do not take this seriously! For entertainment purposes only!*
Minho's and Hyunjin's are so fucking sweet I swear to god! I'm loyal to changbin, loyal to changbin, loyal to chang-
𓆦 Chris (Bangchan)
Past: queen of wands, page of swords
At first, he'd be happy that he managed to pull someone as sweet as them. He could possibly have staked them out first though. Like been watchful of who was after them too. So like making sure he was the only one after them. Like he wants that person to himself. All of them for him and no one else. He might be the type to be absolutely confident in himself that he could pull them even if there was competition. Overly confident too.
Present: 4 of cups, 6 of swords (reversed), the star
I think he would be the type to kind of start walking on egg shells with this person once the honeymoon phase is over. Mainly because he's scared to hurt them. He doesn't want to say something that would cause them to be in pain. He wouldn't want to end things with them, cause they are someone who he is wishing for but it is difficult for him to be his most self with. So it would be hard for him to keep seeing someone like this. I'm not sure how long this would last.
Future: the emperor, 5 of cups
He would see a future with this person but ultimately, I don't think it would last very long. He'd be disappointed in himself for not feeling completely fulfilled in himself if he continued on hiding his true self from this person just to spare their feelings. Like yes, it's a nice thing to do but if you can't be authentic why keep up this facade for the rest of your life? It's extremely tiring to do for even an hour let alone a whole life time. That's just crazy. He would end up having to leave this person.
𓆦 Minho
Past: the hanged man, the magician
So when he came into contact with this person he'd immediately know he'd have to change things. Like the way he spoke about things, he'd know he'd have to say it in a more gentle way than what he is typically used to. He'd be so into this person, he might have been hoping and praying they would come towards him. Like they made the effort for him, doing all the extra-ness for him. But he'd also be giving the same energy. It's not all going to be one sided. He's going to want to change his ways for this person.
Present: 8 of pentacles, 6 of wands
He's going to want to be a better person for this sweet person. It's going to "force" him to really work on himself. He's going to want to be more open with this person, more affectionate. This type of person could really soften his heart (not that he's cold, he's just not flat out affectionate, it's more indirect) and be more willing to show the affection outright. It looks like he could be successful in this change if he was willing to put in the effort.
Future: page of wands, ace of swords
He really would want to keep expanding and seeing where things could go with this person. He would absolutely be more direct about what he sees in the future with this type of person. He'd be more willing to be more public with affection. This is the type of person, I feel would suit him best. This person seems to have lessons for him to learn.
𓆦 Changbin
Past: page of cups, 3 of swords
So, he's gone through this before. He is sensitive, regardless if he wants to admit it or not. He is. So if he was to make any sort of effort to get to know someone who was also sensitive, he'd be fearful of them hurting him more than he himself hurting them. He maybe a big buff guy but he's really soft and needs to be protected too. So, if he were to make this offer to someone more sensitive, he'd be extremely hesitant and they'd have to be willing to protect him like he is for them. Equal ground in that sense.
Present: 3 of cups, 10 of cups
Once he's gotten past the fear of them hurting him, he'd feel emotionally fulfilled. He'd be happy with everything that he's got going for him at that point. He'd feel like he's earned everything he's got with this person. He'd feel like he could actually build something with this person. I think that this person would feel the exact same way as he would. Really cute!!
Future: 6 of wands, the hermit
He'd feel like he's accomplished so much. He's a Leo, so of course he'd be feeling very prideful of what he's got both with this person and what he's got going for him career wise. I don't think this would be boastful energy but something more subtle. Not something like we are used to seeing from him, I feel like he'd be low key about being this happy, feels more genuine from him than his silliness. So like a sense of maturity with it.
𓆦 Hyunjin
Past: queen of pentacles, the world
Very nurturing and sweet towards this person, not a doubt in my mind that he'd be the absolute sweetest towards them. He views this person as his whole world. This could be something he does with every partner but especially if this person is very sensitive. He wants to protect them at all costs. Nothing is going to harm them. He wants to be their safety net. Will do whatever he can to keep them safe!
Present: 10 of pentacles, king of cups
He's emotionally stable enough to take care of them. He wants to be able to provide for them in any which way they need it. He wants to be their solid support system. He's always going to be there for them no matter how small the issue is. They stubbed their toe? He's right there making sure they are icing it, making sure they aren't bleeding, lmao. He's really there for them through thick and thin. Even if he doesn't particularly like them when they are arguing, he'd still bail them out of trouble in a heart beat.
Future: 4 of words, 7 of wands
He wants to get to a secure place with this person where he can be himself and still feel like he's putting a whole lot of effort towards this connection. Not laziness but a comfortable love. He wants to be able to enjoy it with this person no matter how slow moving they are.
𓆦 Jisung
Past: the star, 7 of swords
So he had hoped for someone like that. But I don't think he really would know what to expect from this person. So in the beginning, he'd be a little fake. He wouldn't exactly be showing his true colors right away. He'd be in a state of walking on egg shells. Hiding himself because he doesn't know this person very well.
Present: the high priestess, 7 of wands
He would be very suspicious of this person. He'd feel like they were definitely hiding something. Like they are working on screwing him over. He may have some serious attachment issues. He could have a disorganized attachment style. Like he has to leave before they can leave him or he has to be more clingy thinking that will get them to stay. Depending on what kind of attachment the other person has.
Future: 8 of swords, page of pentacles
He's going to be getting too much in his head if someone like this walked into his life. He'd definitely self sabotage because he doesn't think he deserves someone like that. He would end up bread crumbing them. Not intentionally but because he might have low self esteem when it comes to romantic conncections.
𓆦 Felix
Babylon by 5 Seconds of Summer is coming to mind for this one.
Past: queen of cups, 6 of swords
At first, I think they would both appreciate it. Like yes, I have someone who understands me. We are both on the same level. They would be letting go of old patterns they had prior to this connection. Like they would be able to be vulnerable with one another. No need to hide who they are with one another. Just bare it all and they'd accept each other, no hesitation whatsoever.
Present: queen of wands, 6 of cups
It would kind of start to move quickly. That's because they'd feel like they'd known each other for a life time. It'd be great and good for a while but then something switches and it kind of goes out and now they are constantly bickering at one another. Over silly little things too. Yes, there are growing pains but they shouldn't be all that often and it's going to turn incredibly toxic.
Future: knight of swords, the magician (reversed)
As quickly as this started it would end just as swiftly. No doubt that they care for one another deeply but eventually, I feel that it would end up turning into a game of who's a better manipulator. I don't think it would be intentional at first but it would more towards the end of it. It's like who's more daring to use their emotions to get what they want.
𓆦 Seungmin
Past: 9 of pentacles, judgement
So, at first he'd be hesitant to take this kind of risk. Because he does like his independence. He like's being on his own. No shame in that. He'd be going back and forth about what he wants from such a person but ultimately I think he'd take that risk. He's more scared of the harm he could end up doing to this person because he isn't completely healed but I think in this case, he would heal more if he got with this person. They'd do him no harm, they would help him learn and be better.
Present: 4 of wands, king of wands
He'd end up caving for this person. He'd end up taking the gamble. He'd start off really passionate but once he learned that that's not the type of person this person is, he'd tone it down a lot and be more true to the type of partner he is rather than putting up this front that he's all passion and nothing more. He'd be more down to earth.
Future: 4 of swords, 10 of pentacles
He'd definitely tone it down a lot. But don't get it mixed up, he's still deeply and utterly in love with this person just a more realistic version of love than what Hollywood makes it to be. It's more calming. This person is his peace and he wants to keep it that way forever if he can.
𓆦 Jeongin (I.N.)
Past: 5 of pentacles (reversed), 9 of pentacles
I think if/when he meets this type of person he's going to have released an old energy of holding grudges. He's going to be happy and living his best life. I think he would be more than willing to give this whole thing a shot. It would be something good for him, he'd be willing to give this whole thing a go. Even without knowing the risks that are involved with it.
Present: 8 of pentacles, 10 of wands (reversed)
He's also be the type to work on himself to better himself for this person. He doesn't want to be a burden to this person. Like having an emotionally stunted partner is not something anyone should have to deal with and he's hoping he isn't that way to that person, he wants to be someone reliable. A "man's man" if that makes any sense.
Future: ace of wands, 4 of swords
He's going to be very forward with this person. Just flat out direct mainly because he doesn't want them to over think. He wants them to know how much he cares for them. He doesn't want them to feel like they are being left in the dark. That's something that he wouldn't like being done to him so why do it to another person?

Untouched (M)
Tumblr media
➻ Pairings: Minho x Hyunjin x Changbin
➻ Genre: Established Relationship, Romance, Smut
➻ Additional: Fantasy AU, cucking, threesome
➻ Word Count: 915
➻ Warnings:
➻ Author’s notes: Fae Hyunjin is at the mercy of Sea Serpent Minho, forced to please the other man while his husband, human Changbin, watches. While being degraded and told how worthless his cock is, Hyunjin is also forced to admit how much better Minho is at fucking him - how good Minho makes him feel. This story is cross posted on multiple sites under the same username!
Tumblr media
“Fucking worthless.” Minho hissed into Changbin’s ear at the same time as he slapped his weeping cock, pulling a strangled cry from the human. He had been hard for so long now, time lost within the confines of the bedroom. It had all been his idea - he had practically pleaded with Hyunjin. He never thought it would turn out to be this good. “Pay attention, stupid human.” There was no venom to the words, but they served their purpose nonetheless - another moan falling from Changbin’s lips as he tried to focus his gaze on the other male, vision slightly obscured by his tears.
“Mmm, that’s better.” Minho hummed, his slitted yellow eyes raking over Changbin’s naked form. He gave another slight appreciative hu, but just as quickly as the attention had turned to Changbin, it was gone. Minho’s strong, broad back was turned to him - pale skin glinting a greenish hue as the light reflected on the near translucent scale patches. Human form or natural form, the sea serpent was gorgeous. A perfect balance of neutrality and Changbin’s first and only pick for this game.
The older male made his way back to the bed where Changbin’s equally gorgeous husband, Hyunjin, was laid out for them, cock hard and achingly red, twitching every few seconds with need. Changbin’s eyes moved to Hyunjin’s hole, currently stuffed full with a vibrator. “Look at you.” Minho swatted at the toy, watching it wiggle from side to side as Hyunjin squirmed, back arching as a broken cry filled the room. “Feel good, baby?”
“Y-yes.” Hyunjin panted out, fingers curling tightly in the sheets underneath him.
“Better than what your husband’s pathetic excuse for a dick can make you feel?”
Changbin shifted in his chair, a needy moan leaving him as Minho’s words went straight to his cock. Hyunjin lifted his head towards him, eyes searching and all Chafngbin could do was nod in reassurance. He wanted this - so fucking bad did he want this. Given the green light, Hyunjin’s head fell back on the bed as he nodded.
“Words.” Minho warned, smacking the toy again, and again Hyunjin cried out with a squirm.
“Yes!  ‘S so good.” he whined and as if to prove his point, precum oozed from the tip, slowly sliding down the underside of his cock. “Minho, please.” he begged.
“Please what, darling?”
“Fuck me. Want to cum.” Hyunjin whimpered.
“Aw, poor baby wants to cum. Should let you husband fuck you.” Minho blinked a few times as he stared down at Hyunjin before sneering. “I’m sure he wouldn’t know what to do ith his dick if he was given the chance.” Slender fingers wrapped around the base of the vibrator and Minho began fucking Hyunjin with it. The beautiful fae thrashed on the bed, desperate cries falling from pretty pink lips as more precum leaked from his tip. The sight was intoxicating and it took all of Changbin’s willpower to not touch himself.
“Look at this, Binnie.” Changbin jumped when the attention was back on him. Minho’s eyes were boring holes into his soul and he felt like prey to a hungry predator. And he was. Minho was a dangerous predator, but Changbin trusted him. “This toy can fuck him better than you ever could.”
Changbin squirmed, a needy whine escaping him as his muscles flexed with restraint. His cock twitched nearly uncontrollably as it leaked copious amounts of precum. The head was an angry red and Changbin felt like he was at the edge, barely hanging on. “I-I-” changbin started, but the pointed glare Minho shot him shut him up instantly.
“Oh fuck! Oh god!” Hyunjin’s cries of pleasure went straight to Changbin’s dick, eyes locked on the way Minho rotated and grinded the vibrator inside of Hyunjin. Hyunjin’s breathing became shallow and rapid, toes curling as his body arched and jerked. “Minho!” Hyunjin’s body shook as the pleasure reached its breaking point. With one last cry, Hyunjin painted his stomach white with long sticky ropes of cum.
Changbin’s own orgasm took him by surprise, cock throbbing as he came all over his stomach. The rush was hot - breathtaking. His head fell back, eyes clenched shut as he drowned in the ecstasy of his release. Changbin was left a shaking mess as he slowly started coming down from his high, reality slowly coming back to him. As soon as he had enough wits about him, he realized Minho was by his side, stroking his hair gently and his lap was filled with his glowing, needy husband. He dragged his arms forwards, wrapping them around Hyunjin’s waist. The fae nuzzled into his neck, and Changbin smiled lightly, pressing a kiss to his Hyunjin’s head.
“You did so good, baby.” Changbin whispered, and Hyunjin tilted his head up to stare at the other.
“Really?”
“Really. So perfect.” Hyunjin beamed at the praise, snuggling himself closer to the other.
“And you did so well for us.” Minho praised, taking Changbin by surprise. His cheeks flushed a light pink, but he tried to ignore it. “Was it to your liking?”
“It was more than I could have asked for. It was amazing.” Changbin turned his head to look back at the other. “You were amazing. Thank you.”
“You’re welcome.” Minho hummed softly as he watched the two. “Call me anytime you want to do this again,” he offered.
“How about next week?” Hyunjin asked with a grin, giggling when Changbin choked on his own spit.
“It’s a date.”

Human Rituals
Tumblr media
Hyunjin x reader
Fae AU in which Prince Hyunjin needs a bride
18+
You wiggle your fingers, trying to bring the feeling back to them. Slowly raising your head off the soft grass it was resting on, you warily take in your surroundings.
Mossy trees stretch high to the sky, with bright green leaves that do nothing to stop the sunlight from getting through. The grass is just as much of a lush green, covered in dew drops. Little balls of lights hover slightly off the ground, a faint yellow that makes you pause.
Those ware fireflies, right?
“Ah, you’re awake.” An elegant voice brakes through your thoughts. It scoffs. “Finally.”
You push yourself up to a sitting position, shifting to turn away. You eye the man standing there carefully.
“Finally?” you repeat. “Have you been… waiting for me to wake up?”
“Yes,” he answers simply before adding your name. “I’ve been standing here this whole time. You humans are so difficult sometimes.”
Is he not human? Actually, now that you ponder that, you notice certain things that might prove so.
His ears are pointed slightly, poking out from black hair that falls to the nape of his neck with strands framing his face. His eyes are a dark brown with glints of gold, and the way he carries himself screams elegance and grace.
“What are you?” You scramble away until your back presses against a tree. The bark bites into your skin through the material of your clothes.
“Fae,” he answers, pink lips lifting into a smile. “I am known as Hyunjin.”
You stare at him for a moment. “This can’t be happening.”
“How much do you remember?” Hyunjin inquires. He adjusts the circlet of gold leaves on his head, akin to a crown.
You rack your brain before flashes of the previous night came rushing back. You had been lying in your bed before being dragged outside by an invisible force. You had screamed and kicked and done everything in your power to escape before being pulled through a tree truck and into whatever this was.
“Fae?” you ask stupidly. “Like those little fairies  that eat people?”
“We’re not little,” he says defensively, narrowing his eyes. “And most don’t eat humans. At least not in public anymore.”
You shudder at the implication of that. “Do you eat people? Is that why you brought me here?”
Hyunjin laughs, shoulder shaking. “Silly little human! No- I’m going to marry you.”
You blink in surprise. “What?”
“Marrying? Isn’t that what you humans call it?” Hyunjin frowns and sits on a rock, crossing one leg over the other. He drums his fingers on his thigh and tilts his head at you, causing some of his hair to flop into his face. “We call it mating.”
You feel heat rise in your face. “Okay, first of all, no. Absolutely not am I marrying a stranger. Secondly, we humans use mating with a different context.”
“Ah. Fascinating.” His eyes glitter as they lock on you. “What does that refer to?”
“Sex,” you say bluntly. “Mating is basically just sex.”
“Well isn’t that part of marriage? I believe that humans have a ritual where their family watches them consummate their marriage,” Hyunjin argues. His nose scrunches up in disgust. “It’s gross.”
“That stopped happening like a hundred years ago!” you protested.
“Fae live thousands of years, so that’s quite a short time period for us.” Hyunjin flicks his eyes over you. “We need to go. I need to present you to the others before nightfall.”
“What?” you demanded as he approaches you. You try moving back more but the tree immediately halts your progress. “No! Why can’t you just marry a stupid fae? Why did you have to choose me?”
Hyunjin’s hand curls around your bicep and he pulls you to your feet. You struggle against him, but he has an iron grip that you can’t escape.
“I can’t marry a fae,” he casually says, as if you aren’t putting up a fight, “because we’re a dwindling species. You humans keep eradicating the wilderness, and therefore we cannot survive. Only the strongest are still around.”
You feel a twinge of sympathy, but definitely nowhere near enough to make you compliant. “I’m not marrying you! I have a life!”
Hyunjin hums patronizingly. “I doubt it’s better than becoming an immortal queen.”
“Well at least I wouldn’t have to marry some pointy-eared freak that kidnapped me!” you snap. You glare at Hyunjin with what you hope is a fierce expression. “I don’t even want to know what weddings are like here.”
He ignores your insults and continues taking you with him. You are too busy running your mind through every wild scenario in your head to notice when you arrive at a golden palace.
Every inch of it is gorgeous. There’s huge windows that shine bright light into the wide hallways that Hyunjin drags you through.
He pushes a set of double doors open, waving a hand dramatically ahead. He grins at you smugly. “Future queen first.”
You huff before entering, freezing at the sight of seven other men. They all stop their conversations to face you, some smiling warmly, others regarding you coldly.
“This is my future bride,” Hyunjin says as he places his hands on your hips. He leans down slightly to rest his chin on your shoulder. “I have brought her here before the deadline. You all are my witnesses.”
One of the others steps closer. “Are you sure about this, Hyunjin? Binding yourself forever to her? There are other ways to become king…”
“I don’t have enough time for those,” Hyunjin says firmly. “You know this, Chan.”
Chan sighs. “Very well.”
“Time for what?” you ask curiously. You don’t shove Hyunjin away. His hands are warm and you can’t remember the last time someone touched you.
“Hyunjin wants to become king of his court, so he needs a queen,” another tells you. His hair is shorter than Hyunjin’s but longer than Chan’s. “It’s some old rules from a couple thousand years ago.”
“Jisung,” Hyunjin scolds. “I want to become king to bring a change. We’re dying out!”
You rub at your face. “I’m not marrying you, by the way.”
One with pink hair gasps, clutching at his chest. “Why not? Having a fae as your husband is as good as it gets.”
“Jeongin is right. I would treat you so well,” Hyunjin murmurs to you. His hands squeeze at your waist. “Better than any measly human could. I would love you and cherish you until the day I die.”
You wriggle away from his grip. “That’s nice, but-“
“Fae can’t lie,” a bulky one that had brown hair with streaks of green in it chimes in.
The weight of the sentence hits you hard. You turn your head slightly to make eye contact with Hyunjin.
“I would treat you so well,” Hyunjin says again. His lips ghost the shell of your ear. “You would never want for anything again.”
“And- What would I have to do?” You can feel your resolve crumbling.
Hyunjin rotates you so can fully see his grin. He bends down and tips your chin up with two fingers, tongue darting out to wet his lips. “Just marry me.”
You take a deep breath before letting it out in a heavy exhale. “Fine.”
Hyunjin’s straightens and strokes a hand down your cheek. “Good. I’ll see you tonight.”
It’s a whirlwind of chaos after that, with Jeongin, Seungmin, and Felix helping you get ready, while the others went off with Hyunjin. Seungmin introduces himself first before telling you everyone’s names. Felix runs off to find a wedding dress, while Jeongin informs you about the fae traditions.
“Hyunjin is currently prince of the Spring Court. Once he marries you, he’ll be king, since there isn’t currently one,” he says as Felix returns. “It’s the biggest court, with more than thirty fae!”
“That’s… not a lot,” you hesitantly respond. You look to Felix, holding a cherry pink dress. “Uh, what does the wedding entail?”
“The vows, feast, aaaaand I think that’s it.” Seungmin holds up two fingers, frowning before ticking another up. “Oh, and the consummation.”
“What?” You take the dress from Felix and duck behind a changing screen. You remove your clothes and pull the dress on with shaking hands. “How is that not the first thing you would mention?”
“It comes last,” Felix lightly says. “Why would he say it first?”
“He’s right,” Jeongin agrees. “It’s vows, feast, and then sex.”
You almost laugh at the ridiculousness of the whole ordeal. “Makes sense, I guess.”
“Do you want me to do something about your hair?” Seungmin offers. He waved a hand vaguely at your head. “It’s very… human.”
“She is a human,” Felix reminds him. “And I think it’s cute.”
“She’s marrying Hyunjin, not you.” Jeongin flicks Felix’s forehead. “Don’t let him catch you flirting with her.”
Felix crosses his arms. “I’m not flirting! If I was flirting she’d be on her knees right now!”
“I think I’ll just keep my hair like this,” you interject. You smooth a hand down the fabric of your dress, delighted to discover it feels better than silk.
“Come on,” Seungmin urges as he clasps his hand in yours. He begins to drag you down the hall. “I want to see a wedding!”
You merely sigh as the group of eager fae bring you to a garden. Flowers are in full bloom and lanterns are hung along the cobblestone path that lead straight to Hyunjin.
Changbin adjusts Hyunjin’s tie, scowling at it. Chan swats him out of the way before trying his best to fix it. It ends with Hyunjin shooing them both away and motioning to Jisung’s perfectly done tie.
“How did you do that?” Hyunjin demands incredulously. His eyebrows pull together in frustration as he claws at his neck. “These irritating humans and their- Ugh!”
“Magic,” Jisung replies simply. He arches an eyebrow. “Remember that little thing?”
Hyunjin blinks. “Oh.”
Minho rolls his eyes and pushes himself off a lamppost. “She’s standing right there.”
Hyunjin whips around, wide eyes catching on yours. He doesn’t pay any attention to the bustling of fae trying to properly do his tie as his eyes travel down your body before back up to your face.
“I can do it,” you offer. You clear your throat. “The tie. I know how to…”
“Ah.” Hyunjin waves you closer. “Come, then. Let’s hurry, since I have much to do tonight.”
“You,” Jeongin whispers in your ear as you walk closer to Hyunjin. “He has to do you tonight.”
Felix snorts and hides it as him choking. Chan starts rubbing his back in a comforting motion, forehead creased with worry.
Minho claps his hands to gather everyone’s attention. “Hurry up!”
“Right.” You give Minho an apologetic smile before raising your hands to Hyunjin’s neck. You undo the tie before wrapping it around him again, gentle with your movements.
Hyunjin’s breath hitches as your fingers brush his throat. You mutter an apology before retracting your hands.
“Hyunjin, do you marry her as her bride or whatever humans say?” Jisung asks.
Hyunjin nods. “Yes.”
Jisung points to you. “And you’re being a bride too?”
You hide a smile at the fae and their quirky antics. “Yeah.”
“Yay, now let’s go eat,” Changbin exclaims before making a break for the tables laden with food. The others follow gleefully as you’re left to puzzle over the short ceremony.
“Coming?” Hyunjin asks, cuausing you to nod in response. His movements are full of intention as he guides you to the table.
“So is that what weddings are usually like around here?” you question Hyunjin as you approach the food.
“No.” Hyunjin stops at a chair at the head of the table with elegant designs on the back. “We kept it tame, as to save your human eyes from what you might describe as scandalous sights.”
His hands close around your waist and he gently tugs you into his lap. You stare at the table as he shifts you around until you’re both comfortable.
“We didn’t know what humans eat, so we got a bit of everything,” Minho tells you as you serve yourself what looks like chicken. He glares at Hyunjin. “It was so much work!”
“But it’s nice to meet you,” Chan interjects, shooting Minho a sharp look. He smiles at you, dimples rising to the surface. “We’re so glad Hyunjin finally has someone.”
Hyunjin makes a noise of discontent from behind you. “And I’m glad I have someone else to talk to.” His voice comes out as strained before cutting off at the end and he coughs.
Chan leans toward you. “Hyunjin’s always been able to come closer to lying than us. But not quite.”
“It’s okay, we know you love us,” Seungmin teases.
Hyunjin doesn’t bother to respond. He reached out for a strawberry and presses it to your lips. “Open.”
You let him feed you the strawberry before turning to take a slice of cake. Hyunjin gently squeezes your chin between his thumb and index finger to return your gaze to him.
“My fingers are sticky from strawberry now,” he tells you. “Would you pass me a napkin? Or just deal with it yourself. Whichever you want.”
He’s leaving it to you.
The decision rests heavy in the air, with more depending on this than just his sticky fingers.
You part your lips for him, sucking the strawberry juices off his fingers when he places them in your mouth. Hyunjin smiles at you, but it’s more of a smirk as he stands, joining your hands together.
“My wife and I will be taking our leave now,” he declares to the group. He casts a pointed look at Jisung. “Keep your mouth shut. I heard what you said earlier.”
Jisung gasps. “Me?”
Hyunjin gives Jisung one last dirty look before whisking you away. He brings you up a grand set of stairs and through a large oak door. His bedroom, you assume, due to the silk sheets sprawled across a four poster bed.
You marvel at the gorgeous paintings hung on the walls as Hyunjin walked into an attached room. You hear rustling of fabric as you examine the art.
“These are nice,” you say, folding your hands in front of you.
“I made them,” you hear him respond from the other room. He steps back into the bedroom, dressed in a robe.
“Oh, they’re really good,” you praise. You glance back at the paintings before smiling at him. “You’re pretty talented.”
Hyunjin blushes at the compliment. He quickly raises a hand to cover his cheeks.
“So…” you trail off unsurely. You look between him and the bed a couple times.
“Are you sure about this?” Hyunjin softly asks as he perches on the edge of the bed. The collar of the robe opens as he leans back on his forearms, revealing more of his chest.
“Yes,” you answer immediately. You sit next to him and bunch your hands into the sheets. “I want to- With you-“
Hyunjin leans over and captures your lips with his, cupping your face tenderly. You wrap your arms around his neck and pull him closer to you.
He nips at your bottom lip as he pushes you down to the sheets to lay atop you. His body is flush to yours as he continues to kiss you.
“Hyunjin,” you whisper as he mouths at your collarbone. You feel his lips curve into a smile against your skin before he props himself up, hovering over you.
“Are you certain you want this?” Hyunjin’s voice is low and thick with want. The gold had almost completely vanished from his eyes with his pupils blown wide.
“I want this,” you firmly say. You fist the robe and arch up to kiss him again.
“Take off this dress,” Hyunjin orders. He looks down your form, black hair untucking itself from behind his ears to frame his face.
You barely manage to shuffle out of it before he’s on you again. The robe pools on the floor after he unties it, urging you up to the headboard.
“My beautiful wife,” Hyunjin softly utters as he pries your thighs apart. He’s as naked as you are as you stares at your centre. “I promise to love you forever.”
You stroke his hair. “And I- I will help you bring back the population. I wnat to with you.”
His grip on you tightens. Hyunjin brings a hand down to ghost it over your clit, making your breath catch. “You mean it?”
“Yeah.” You know it’s sudden and probably impulsive, but you decide you don’t care. You nearly keen when he rubs a circle on your clit.
Hyunjin slips a finger into you, thumb still on your bundle of nerves. His other hand is resting on your cheek, eyes burning into yours. “I love you.”
Fae can’t lie.
A second digit enters you, stretching you out slightly. They find a spot that makes you moan and Hyunjin brightens.
“There we go,” he croons, burrowing his head in the crook your neck. His teeth scrape at you. “I’ve got you.”
Hyunjin’s thumb is still moving, and the coil in you is tightening more and more. You’re getting closer and closer-
“Shit, you look so pretty when you cum.” Hyunjin groans, mouth parting in awe. “But I think you’re ready for me now, hmm?”
You blink out of your post-orgasm gaze. “Hyunjin, why did you pick me? There’s so many human women.”
Hyunjin pauses, lined up with your entrance. “Because you’re beautiful enough to pass as fae, even before the transformation. Because I think you’re smart enough to rule by my side. And because I wanted to.”
You swallow and hook your ankles around his hips. “Okay, I’m ready.”
He plunges into you, throwing his head back. Hyunjin’s eyes flutter and he moans silently. “Fuck, I-“
“Hyunjin,” you plead.
He shushes you gently, fingers entwining with yours, pressing your hands down to the bed. He rolls his hips into you carefully, watching for a resection.
“I’ll treat you so well,” he mutters. His throat flexes as he swallows. “I’ll fill you up and never leave your side again.”
His thrusts deep inside you and releases one of your hands to toy with yours clit. “Cum, please.”
Hyunjin’s voice whines at the end as his hips stutter. You cum around him, and he kisses you, swallowing up the sounds you make as he spills into you.
He stays like that for a moment, sweat-slicked body above yours. You realize at this moment how perfect he is, with how pretty he looks.
“Good?” Hyunjin asks as he pulls out of you. Some of him spills out afterward, and he tilts his head at it before scooping it back up and pressing it back into you.
You nod, head dropping to the pillows. “Very good.”
Hyunjin suddenly gasps and looks horrified with himself. “I’m so sorry!”
“For what?” You wrap your fingers around his wrist and yank him onto the sheets next to you.
His arms go around you. “I forgot to ask the others to watch! I apologize for forgetting about your human traditions! It will never happen again! We can sacrifice virgins tomorrow if you so wish.”
You laugh, much to his confusion. “It’s fine, Hyunjin. And I appreciate the sentiment, but personally, I don’t sacrifice virgins.”
Hyunjin hums and sighs against you. His breath ruffles some of your hair. “Very well. Just know I am more than willing to engage in any of your ridiculous human rituals whenever you wish.”

The far away look in your eyes did not go unnoticed by the staff the next morning, nor did the dark circles under your eyes due to exhaustion. As they dressed you for the day your normally vibrant demeanor seemed to be dimmed as you did not even protest when they pulled you out of bed like you normally do, and you did not pout at the dawning of your corset as they expected you too. It was honestly a little concerning to the maids. Especially to Mara.
You had gotten little to no sleep the night prior. Over and over your mind replayed the events you had experienced. From leaving the castle, to meeting Chris and Minho, to following them home and finally to them.
A part of you thought it might have all been a nightmare; that you had never left at all and everything you had been through was a figment of your imagination. But you knew in your gut it was real. That you really had met faeries and visited an otherworldly realm beyond your wildest imagination. Both the wonder and terror you had experienced could not have been made up in your head, as you still felt them even now.
So many questions still rattled around in your head. You wanted to know more about them and their court. You wanted to know how they all came together. And you wanted to know why they valued human life so little. As much as you craved to return to them and demand more answers you also knew that beings that clearly only believed mortals to be nothing but toys for their entertainment were nothing but trouble for you. You would be a fool to put yourself in such a dangerous situation for a second time.
But
There was also a realization that that was probably the most thrilling thing you will have ever done in your life. Nothing would ever compare to the astonishment of the Court of Stars and that sat heavy in your chest.
“My dear, what troubles have you plagued? You have hardly uttered a sound this morning.” Mara's question brought you out of your thoughts and back to reality.
You blinked quickly as you tried to come up with an answer that would satisfy her. “My rest was uneasy last night. The stress of yesterday must have gotten too me worse than I thought.”
She hummed, straightening out the poofs of your dress. “I will have the servants prepare some tea with your breakfast. You need to be awake and lively when you rendezvous with the Queens today for wedding preparations.”
“Thank you, Mara. I would appreciate that greatly.” You said softly then a thought struck you; Mara had been the one to tell you stories about faeries when you were young- maybe she knew more information about them. The problem was getting that information out of her without her becoming suspicious. You cleared your throat lightly, “Mara, do you remember the stories you used to tell me when I was a child?”
“I have told you many tales, your highness. You will have to be specific.” She was behind you fixing your hair.
“The stories.. About faeries.”
“Yes, I remember.” She answered, adjusting the pastel pink bow that rested in your hair and matched the color of your dress.
“Well, do you happen to know anything else about them? The.. faeries, I mean.”
Mara’s eyes instantly met yours in the mirror and her hands stopped moving. When she realized her reaction she cleared her throat and continued her task. “Now what makes you ask about a thing like that?”
You tried a shrug in indifference, as if the inquiry held no weight. “ No reason in particular. Just thought maybe they would be good stories to pass on to my own children one day.”
“Those were less of a fun story and more of a warning. Beings that are not to be trifled with.” She huffed. “Magical devils in disguise. It is better not to think of them at all.”
‘Devils in disguise.’ Those words stuck with you the most. You remembered how different both Chris and Minho appeared when you arrived in the fae wilds- how they had changed out of their disguise and into their more bizarre forms.
“But what if I find myself in a peculiar situation and the only thing that could save me is that knowledge?”
Mara narrowed her eyes at yours, giving you a glance over with an etch of worry in her brows.”What situation would you find yourself in that this would be useful? Y/n, did something happen?”
Shit. You should not have said that last question.
“N-no. Of course not, Mara. What a silly question.” You deflected, using a hand to wave her off.
“Y/n.” the elder woman's voice grew stern. “If something has happened you must tell me.”
You wiped your sweating hands on your dress, hiding your nerves and playing it off. “Nothing has happened. I am simply curious.”
She didn’t say anything for a moment and you thought that was going to be the end of the discussion, but before you could deflate in dejection she surprised you by speaking up. “I will not claim to be an expert, most of what I know comes from what my own father told me when I was a girl so take it all with a grain of salt.”
You nodded, motioning for her to continue.
She sighed wistfully and began her tale, “In the village where I grew up, a few miles outside of this very kingdom in a small woodland town, many rumors spread about tricksters that dwelled within the surrounding woods. Rumors of supernatural creatures that cared for nothing but their own enjoyment. Rumors of their cunning games and alluring charms. ” She breathed deeply before continuing. “ These creatures were known to us as Faeries or the fae folk. Our village had a specific set of rules regarding these tricksters. Do not ever enter the woods at night. If you are outside and see something strange, leave immediately. Fae are known to lure in victims with traps of enticement. Never invite one into your home lest you invoke nightmares and thievery. Faeries cannot lie, so they are very eloquent with their words and how they phrase things.”
“If I were to ask one a question, would it answer me truthfully?” You asked.
Mara shrugged, “Perhaps, though I would not count on it. They might try to get something from you in return. Never accept any offer they make you, magic always comes with a price and more likely than not it is a terrible price to pay. Do not celebrate with them. Do not show great emotion to a faerie either. I remember hearing of a young woman who was grieving the passing of her husband late one night outside by the wicker well, one moment she was there sobbing her heart out and the next she was gone- vanished without a trace.”
Taken.. Like whoever fell victim to Seungmin and Jeongin.
“These are the rules my father instilled in me, and his father before him. Each child of my village grew up knowing the terrors of what lurked beyond what our natural eyes could see.” Mara finished her task, coming around to the front of you now. “There we go, looking as polished as ever, your highness.”
“Thank you Mara. And thank you for sharing with me the tales from your childhood.” You smiled weakly at her, putting your hand on her shoulder. Her words ran through you as you took them in. You had definitely broken many of these rules already and that alone made you incredibly uneasy. But at the same time you felt hopeful? Now that you know the rules of the fae, maybe you could use them to avoid trouble with them should you wish to return to them.
“You’re welcome, but do not go sharing this with anyone else. I do not need anyone coming after my head for filling yours with strange ideas.” She huffed making you laugh.
“I won’t tell a soul. I promise.” You made an ‘X’ over your heart.
“Now you must hurry along, I am sure your guests are already waiting for you in the dining hall to commence preparations.” She patted your back and sent you to the door. But before you could leave the room she called out, “Wait, I almost forgot the most important rule regarding the fae.” You turned back to face her again. “Never, under any circumstance, fall in love with a faerie, they will never love you the same and it will always end in tragedy.”
For a reason you can’t explain you felt your heart break ever so slightly at her warning.

Dread did not even begin to describe the way Chris felt as he traveled to the Court of Wonder. For him it had been a week since Pricilla’s threat of war and as much as he did not wish to see her he knew he couldn’t put off the meeting any longer. The journey to the Court of Wonder was a long one, the two lands were separated by the vast seas of the Summer court and could only be traversed by boat.
Chris always loved the sea. The dark inky depths reminded him of his own home, but instead of an endless void the water was teeming with life. When he was younger he spent hours upon hours exploring the Summer Courts many ecosystems with the sea always being his favorite. It was where he met Minho.
The fae prince had paid a hefty amount of gold to a Kobold to ferry him across the water. The reptilian trickster tried to swindle him out of even more money but one look into the glimmering amethyst of Chris’s eyes made the little coward realize that Chris was a powerful being that should not be messed with, even a creature as stupid as a Kobold would not dare challenge the dark prince.
As he traveled Chris let his mind wander. He remembered the first time he met Minho on these very seas.
The prince was young, only a few centuries old at that point, long before he had taken control over his court. Chris had once again ran away from his court in search of… well anything really. An escape from his reality. The pressures of princely responsibilities were weighing on him heavier than ever and it was becoming too much for the boy to accept. After yet another dispute with his mother he fled the court, venturing as far as he could until he entered the territory of the Summer Court and even then he did not stop. He went all the way to the water, standing upon a cliffside that overlooked a tropical archipelago.
Chris had never seen anything like it before in his entire life, the vastness of the water rivaled that of the galaxies of his home. His purple eyes took in every detail; from the crashing waves to the shaking of spindly palm trees. But what really caught his attention was the large ship that was speeding over the waves, a large red sail swaying in the wind as it went. Pirates. The prince was giddy as he jumped down from the cliffside, aiming right for the vessel.
He landed directly on his feet smack dab in the middle of the top deck, a bright smile on his face and an excited twitch in his fingers. Not even the shouts in concern from the crew could shake him. Or the sword that was suddenly being pointed right at his throat.
A boy, younger than him but not by much, with catlike eyes and dark shaggy hair sneered at Chris as he held the sword to the prince's neck. “Who the fuck are you?”
“Chris.” He was still smiling, clearly unfazed.
“Well, ‘Chris’, what are you doing on our ship? Come to take our treasures?” The boy asked, taking in the boy's strange appearance. Chris did not look like any fae from the Summer court, he was much too pale. The boy still did not lower his weapon.
“Minho,” A voice called out, making the boy cast his gaze quickly at another man with fiery orange hair. This man was wearing a black tricorn hat that had a plume of red feathers sticking out. He seemed familiar to Chris but he couldn’t quite place why. “Mind your manners when you're around royalty.”
“Royalty, huh? Doesn’t look like any royal I know.” Minho scoffed but slowly lowered his weapon nonetheless.
“I haven’t seen you in a while, Chris. What brings you to my ship? Did you get tired of your pretty palace in the sky like I did with mine?” Ahh yes, now Chris remembered who this is- Prince Hongjoong of the Summer court. He hadn’t seen the orange haired boy in a long time, he had stopped attending the balls that the Court of Stars threw many years ago. Chris heard he had abandoned his crown and became estranged from his family. Chris was envious of him.
He offered a shrug, tilting his head back and forth, “Ah you know how it is, Hongjoong. Sometimes those gems are too heavy on one's head.” Chris used his thumb to motion to Minho, who still had his slitted pupils were still locked in on Chris. “Where did you find this rabid thing?”
“You watch your mouth you assh-”
“Ehh put the claws down kitty cat, it was a compliment. You need to be a little crazy to hang out with Hongjoong.” He winked cheekily at Minho, making him scowl even further but Chris also saw a light dusting of pink on the tips of his ears.
“Minho is a soldier I plucked from the dessert militia. He’s got quite a sharp mind; great for battle strategy. You’d be impressed Chris.” Hongjoong smirked.
“Won’t the Summer Court miss someone like that?” Chris asked, already knowing the answer.
“Of course they will. But only the best get to join my crew.” Both boys chuckled while Minho just looked annoyed. “The offer extends to you as well Chris. I’d love to have you in my little band of misfits.”
The offer weighed heavy on Chris’s shoulders. It was extremely tempting and something he had actually thought about in great detail. Ultimately he knew he couldn’t stay away forever. His court relied on him too much- his mother relied on him too much.
The rest was history. Whenever Chris felt the need to escape he would leave his court and head to the Summer Court, joining the pirate crew known as ‘Ateez’ as they traveled and becoming great friends with Minho. Such good friends that Minho left the crew and joined Chris in leading his court when his mother passed.
It was a good memory, one that Chris cherished. Being back on these waters gave him a sense of calm he longed for, even though where he was headed was far from peaceful.
Chris knew this bullshit threat was only to get his attention. Everything Pricilla did was to get his attention.
He knew he never should have entertained her in the first place. He had let his cock think for him instead of his head one too many times and this was the consequence of his actions. Chris had hoped the psychotic queen would move on from her infatuation with him- it had been over five hundred years since he had indulged her- but it seems like his wishful thinking was just that; a wish. And unfortunately the prince cannot grant his own wishes, no matter how hard he tries.
Chris let his eyes scour the water, looking for the divine secrets that lay below the crystalline waves. His pupils enlarged to encompass his whole eye as he focused, his sight enhancing significantly. Just as he had thought they were sailing over a colony of merfolk. He could see the massive reefs they build their homes out of. The fishlike humanoids were infamously elusive and great at remaining hidden so he wasn’t able to make out any of the creatures themselves much to his dismay.
The fae prince sighed and returned his sight back to normal. Maybe one day he would send Jeongin down there to make contact. The Sea Foam court and the merfolk were known to have a cordial report and it certainly wouldn’t hurt to have another allied species in case something went south. Though a petty part of him did not want to ask the youngest boy for anything. He was still irate at Jeongin and Seungmin for ruining his time with you.
Most of his thoughts lately were of you. His lost princess. He wondered what you were doing, if you were still upset with him and if he would ever see you again. The man still did not know what had made you so upset in the first place. He had not said anything that was not the truth but for some reason you took that as a personal dig. Minho had laid into him about having sensitivity for a weaker species that night when he returned.
Chris hoped you were not still mad at him. For reasons he could not explain he felt an ache in his chest at the thought of you hating him forever. It shouldn’t matter. You were just a human after all. Your opinion of him shouldn’t bother him at all.
But it does.
It bothers him beyond comprehension. He already thought the world of you- the runaway princess with a voice like pure silk and a body crafted by the goddess of sex herself. The moment he laid eyes on you he knew you were something special. So the fact that you seemed so.. Disgusted by what he said made him want to rip his curly hair from his head.
The long ride finally came to an end as the boat entered the edge of the Court of Wonder. The kobold bowed to the prince when he exited the boat, throwing another gold piece to the small creature as he passed.
The lands of the Court of Wonder were full of splendor. A land full of magical creatures and all things extraordinary. The pixie forests glowed with vibrant colors and the mountains shimmered with the pure gold they were made from. To anyone who had never been there before it would be captivating; to him though it was a shithole.
Standing at the edge of the dock awaiting his arrival was a tall fae man; the man had vibrant orange skin that resembled dragon scales and he was wearing a long black cloak. Chris recognized him instantly. This was Jasper, one of Pricillas hounds. Seemed like she wanted to guarantee his arrival.
The ‘hounds’ were Pricillas most precious possessions. They were a group of fae that hailed from the Court of Wonder, hand picked by the Queen herself to be on her guard. That in itself was all well and good- many fae folk had unique magical abilities that were useful to a court- but word in the rumor mill was that these were no ordinary fae; that they were genetically modified by Pricilla to be stronger, sharper, deadlier. No longer were they regular guards, now they were an elite team who did her bidding without question- no matter how sadistic or inhumane the request.
The aura that this man gave off was pure menace and if Chris was a weaker fae he might have even shuddered under his scrutinizing red eyes.
But he was not a weaker fae. Chris had royal blood that granted him not only strength but powers of his court. The prince knew if it came down to it he could probably defeat Jasper one on one… but he also knew the ‘Hounds’ rarely ever traveled completely alone. He wouldn’t be able to fight off more than one at a time.
At least not without the powers of the crown…
The reptilian fae lowered himself slightly in a customary bow to the prince, though his eyes did not leave Chris’s for even a second. “Welcome to the Court of Wonder, Prince Chris. Your presence has been long awaited.”
Chris huffed and wanted to roll his eyes. “Yes I am aware. Pricilla hasn’t stopped demanding my presence for a millennium.”
Jasper seemed to ignore the comment, gesturing for Chris to follow him. The fae prince walked one step behind the other man in silence. It was uncomfortable to say the least. They walked for a few minutes until they came upon a glowing pillar that looked to be made of pure blue agate crystal.
Jasper halted right in front of the pillar, then turned back to look at Chris. “Place your hand upon the crystal. And hold your breath.”
Chris sighed then without hesitation stuck his palm directly to the pillar. The second his skin touched the cool gem his body was encapsulated in a beam of pure light. It was hot- burning, searingly hot and he felt his feet lift from the ground and his vision disappeared as all he could see was the blinding rainbow light. Then just as soon as it came, it was gone.
His feet landed back on the ground and his sight cleared up. Just as he had suspected; the pillar was a teleportation crystal. They were pretty common in the larger courts, they made it easier to get around. His own court did not have any, so he wasn’t the most familiar.
He now found himself standing in front of the huge castle that belonged to the aristocracy of the Court of Wonder. It was made of pure gold, a product of the mines that resided in the mountains, and was bigger than any other castle he had seen anywhere in the fae wilds. It was also surrounded in miles and miles of blooming flower fields, as far as the eye could see. The gardens were Pricillas pride and joy.
‘Of course she has to have the biggest and best of everything.’ He grumbled in his mind.
Two guards clad in bronze armor opened the large wide set doors as he approached, offering him low bows as he passed him. God, he was so sick and tired of all the bowing. So tired of everyone knowing he was royal. If he wasn’t royal his life would have been simpler- he wouldn’t have to deal with this bullshit in this bullshit court.
Chris strolled into the palace and through its glittering vast halls. He did not stop and entertain any of the servants that addressed him nor did he slow his steps until he entered the throne room in the center of the castle.
When he entered the room he was met with the reason for his visit; Pricilla. The queen was lounging sideways on her plush throne, her feet hanging off the side and kicking back and forth in giddiness. Her horizontal pupils settled on him as he entered and her lips curled up into a wicked smile, her pearly white jagged teeth on display.
“Well there he is, the man of the hour.” Pricilla waved her lithe fingers at him in a teasing manner. “So glad you finally decided to come visit me. It only took an active threat to your people to get you here.” She giggled maniacally as if she had said the funniest thing in the world.
There was something..off about the Queen. Something different. Pricilla had always been a beautiful woman but now her normally vibrant yellow skin seemed to have lost a touch of its glittering luster, and her usually long flowing hair that was deep blue was cropped short to about her shoulders- but it was choppy and uneven as if she had cut it herself. Even her clothes looked askew. She had always cared too much about her appearance, so the fact that she looked so worn down had really thrown him off.
“I am here. Just as you demanded. Now what do you want, Pricilla?” He asked, crossing his arms and getting right to the point. He wanted to get out of here as soon as possible.
“Don’t act like you didn’t miss me.” She laughed and lifted one side of her dress, showing off her thigh to him in an attempt at enticing him. When he didn’t react to her all Pricilla pouted, throwing her head back with a whine. “Come on Chrissy you can’t pretend forever.”
“And what exactly am I pretending to do, Pricilla?”
“Acting like you don’t like me.” She huffed, “As if our time together meant nothing to you!”
“It did mean nothing to me, Pricilla.” He glared at her, getting fed up with her already. “In fact it meant less than nothing.”
Chris saw her grit her teeth, “Now you’re just being cruel to me.”
“I am being cruel to you? No, what’s cruel is threatening a war all because you aren’t getting my attention. What's cruel is sending Changbin crashing down in a ball of fire after all he wanted to do was talk with you.” He clenched his fists at his side.
The look on her face became confused, “Wait, who is Changbin, again?”
Chris rubbed his face in frustration, “The one who came to see you last week… that you sent plummeting down in a cocoon of flames.. That put a giant hole in my courtyard. ”
She snapped in recollection, “Ah yes spring court faerie with the pink hair! He was a cutie pie I must admit.” She snickered briefly then her face hardened again. “But he was not who I requested. I asked for you, Chrissy. And I won’t be ignored. Not by you or anyone.”
“I am busy, Pricilla. I have a court to run. I would think you’d know a little about that seeing as you’re a ruler yourself.”
She grinned at him again, “Ah but I am a Queen. You have been neglecting your court by dividing it in pieces instead of just dawning the crown yourself.” Her broken nails tapped on the twinkling sun emblem on the crown that was embedded in her skull. To wear the crown was to become the crown- there was no taking it off. “They need a proper ruler, Chris. A strong, handsome king. And they’ll need an equally strong Queen.”
There it was.
Chris rolled his eyes so far into the back of his head he could almost see his brain. “You have your own court, you do not need mine as well.”
“But think about how incredible it could be if we were to join our two courts together! We would be unstoppable! And our children would grow up in the most magical place to ever exist! All you have to do is put on that ugly vine-y crown and your powers would allow you to-”
“Pricilla that is enough!” Chris raised his voice at her for the first time, glaring at her as his eyes darkened until they were a deep almost black purple color. He could see how taken aback she looked at his outburst but he continued before she could speak again. “You never know when to fucking quit! I have told you over and over again that you and I are never going to be together. I fucked you one time, that’s it. Grow up and get the fuck over it.”
“Chris, come on-”
“No! You have disrespected me and my court for the last time with this bullshit! I will not stand for your insults to my family's legacy any longer. This ends here and now.”
The prince expected her to cry and whine and beg like she always does, but instead he was met with her intense stare and complete silence from the seelie Queen. He had never seen her so silent and still before, as if she was made of stone. After what felt like eternity she seemed to snap back into reality.
“Alright.”
He raised a brow in confusion, “Alright? That’s all you have to say now?”
“Yes.” She nodded slowly. Her face was neutral but Chris could see something wicked brewing behind her eyes. “I concede. I won’t pursue you any longer.”
“And you’ll retract your threat of war among our courts?” He pressed.
She nodded again, “Yes, there will be no war.”
He cleared his throat, finding this went way too easily but not looking a gift horse in the mouth. “Excellent. I am glad we could put this to rest.”
“Me as well. Maybe we can move past all of this and even become.. Friends?” She asked, tapping her nails on the side of her throne.
He didn’t know what game she was playing or what her intentions were, but he also knew it would be best to try and move on for the sake of peace. The wilds did not need a spat amongst royals.
“Friends would be lovely.” He conceded.
Pricilla clapped ecstatically and the shrill giggle made Chris’s ears hurt. “Perfect. Then I look forward to being the very best of friends. Don’t you, Chrissy?”
He winced slightly, then cleared his throat and nodded. Better to agree with her and be done with it once and for all. “Of course. Now that we have put this mess behind us, and can move on-”
“As friends,” She cut him off with a smirk.
“Yes. As friends.” He continued, trying to hold in his agitation, “I will be taking my leave now. Take care of yourself, Pricilla.” He gave her a shallow bow of his head.
The seelie woman waved her fingers at him, “Byyyyye Chrissy.”
The prince turned on his heel and walked out of the throne room, then down the halls and out of the front door, not stopping until he was outside. Once he was outside he finally let out a frustrated breath. Chris was thrown off by how easy it was to come to an agreement with her. It felt wrong somehow. There had to be an ulterior motive- with her there always was- but he really did not want to dwell on it. For now ,at least, there would be peace and that was enough for him.
Now he wanted to get the hell out of this court.
Tumblr media
Your heart felt heavy as you walked down the halls. Mingyu had once again accompanied you down to breakfast this morning, you could tell the man wanted to say something about the distant look in your eyes but he did not. You thanked him for walking you and he bowed then opened the double doors leading to the dining room.
Walking into the room you could see that only your mother and queen Jeonywon were seated at the table enjoying a few pastries. The other Queen was the first to notice you as you entered, “Ah Y/n dear, come join us. We were discussing the floral arrangements for the ceremony.”
“Good morning Mother. Good morning, your majesty.” You greeted them both politely before you took your seat in front of the two women.
“Yes yes, good morning, anyways Jeonywon I was thinking something classy,” Your mother began, barely paying you any mind like usual. “Perhaps camellias. The dark pink blush color would go quite heavenly with Y/n’s complexion.”
“Hmm, that may be a nice choice. I suppose some babies breathe and some Cymbidium would do well as fillers…”
You began to drown them out, not really caring much for the conversation since you knew you wouldn’t get a say in anything either way.. As if it wasn’t your wedding..
As tasty as you knew the food to be, you did not have much of an appetite so you only lightly picked at some fruit so as to not draw attention to you not eating. After managing to get down a single strawberry you went to take a drink of some water. You lifted your crystal glass up to your mouth and took a sip, but as you were lowering it back down you noticed a strange reflection in the glass, like someone was standing directly behind you. No, not just someone..
You could see a reflection of Minho staring back at you.
A startled gasp escaped you and you whipped your head around to look behind you. There was no one there, only the servants who stood along the edge of the room. Nothing and no one out of the ordinary. ‘Was I just imagining it?’ You must have been, there was no way Minho was here.
“Y/n, are you alright?”
Dammit, you forgot about the other two women with you at the table. You nodded in response, “Yes, your majesty. My apologies for the outburst, I had a.. Tickle that startled me.”
It was not a very good lie but it seemed to convince them both anyways. “Well finish up your breakfast dear, we have a meeting with the modiste shortly and we mustn't be late.”
“A meeting with the modiste, mother?” You were slightly confused and unable to put the pieces together.
“For your wedding gown. We only have a few days to prepare so every second counts.”
You chewed on your bottom lip and lightly pushed your plate away from you, definitely not up to eating any longer.
Tumblr media
The three of you had loaded into the most pristine carriage that your family owned (your mother clearly wanted to show off our best assets to the other ruler), and you were on your way into the town. The carriage passed by the bustling streets filled with the common people going about their day. You could see people selling their wares in little stalls and a few working men on their way to work. Of course there were also a few people stopping to stare and point at the sight of the royal carriage being pulled by the pure white horses.
You wished you were out there with them instead of stuck in this cramped compartment on your way to imminent doom. That’s how you felt, at least. Being here with these two chattering queens was almost like literal torture for you as they yammered on and on about what type of lace and stitching would be best for your dress.
Looking out into the crowds you noticed a few familiar faces; A woman named Kate who sold flowers was setting up her bouquets, a young man that you knew from the tavern was walking with a small child in his arms, and you even caught a glimpse of Vernon as he exited a shop.
A flash of dark hair and pointed ears caught your attention. Standing there on the side of the road in the middle of the crowd was Minho. You leaned over towards the window of the carriage to get a better look, but just as quickly as you saw him he was gone, vanished without a trace as if he was never even there. Using your closed fist you rubbed your eyes and sat back into your seat once again.
What is going on? Am I actually losing my mind?
Maybe you were losing your mind. Maybe everything you experienced, everything you saw was just insanity. It had to be- it didn’t seem plausible that you were the only one that could see them for what they were or could be the only one to see him now. That's what it was, you decided. Just insanity brought on by the stress of your arranged marriage. You would get through this next week and your premonitions would cease. There was no such thing as faeries. There was no Chris and Minho.
Or..
They were toying with you. Perhaps they were using their tricks on you to make you think you’ve gone insane. If what Mara said was to be believed and true, then the otherworldly beings did not hold the same morals or ethics as most mortals do. Minho had said that humans only see what the fae wanted them too. So there was a very real possibility that all you were to them was a plaything.
You were not sure which option hurt you the most.
Your panicked thoughts were interrupted by the sudden stop of the carriage. Glancing out the window again you saw you had made it to the modiste. You were so lost in your own mind after seeing Minho that you had completely blanked out the majority of the ride.
A footsman opened the carriage door with a bow and held a hand out to help you out. With a hand on your hems to keep from tripping you were led out and into the store.
A woman you had never met before greeted you all you entered. She clasped her hands out in front of her and offered a bow to the queen's first and then to you. “Welcome your majesties.  Welcome your highness. I am so grateful and pleased to have you in my shop.”
You glanced around the shop, not seeing the elderly woman who usually attended to you when you visited. “Where is Dohee?”
“Oh, Ms. Dohee was my teacher and after she felt I had completed my apprenticeship she retired and left the shop to me.” The girl blushed and tucked some hair behind her ear. She was pretty, you noticed, and seemed to be around your age. “My name is Lisa. It is my ultimate pleasure to make your acquaintance, your highness.”
“It is nice to meet you as well.” You offered a shy smile.
“Lisa,” Your mother began as she browsed the different racks of fabrics, “I trust you have something drawn up for us to see?”
The girl nodded enthusiastically, “Yes, your majesty!” She pulled out a large sketchbook and flipped to the back of the pages and brought it over to you and the Queens. “I began to work something up the second I was informed of the engagement. I was up all night, actually.”
Lisa presented you with a drawing of an elegant gown that had a tight fitted bodice and puffed sleeves. It was a nice drawing but it did not really feel like what you imagined your dress to look like. Before you could respond with those exact words your mother cut you off and snatched the book away from you. “Now this is just splendid! Exactly what I was thinking.”
Lisa beamed and gave another small bow in gratitude. “I am so happy to hear that, your majesty does have fine taste indeed. And how about you, your highness?” She asked you.
“Well actually perhaps we-”
“She loves it.” Once again you couldn’t get your own words out. You begin to feel the tips of your ears heat up in frustration but you bite your tongue. “My daughter is an elegant girl and needs an elegant dress. Right, dear?” Your mother slightly narrowed her eyes at you with an unspoken threat to make you agree.
You wrung your hands together and gave a tentative nod, “Yes, of course mother.”
Queen Jeonywon took a look at the sketch next, “How beautiful! Kookie is just going to love this.” She nodded in approval then handed the sketchbook back to Lisa.
Lisa ushered you onto the pedestal and pulled out a few measuring tapes. You do not know why you were hopeful that maybe you would have gotten even a slight say in your dress, but it was very apparent to you as the two matriarchs droned on about what lace they think would be best and how long the train should be that this was not really your wedding; it was more for them than anything else.
These last twenty four hours felt like a fever dream - and perhaps it still was, that notion was still up in the air for you-  but you just wanted it to end.You felt weak and powerless, not the glowing bride you wanted to be. A wedding was supposed to be a joyous occasion, one shared between lovers and friends. It was supposed to be about love, not whatever farce this was.
An overwhelming bout of panic hit you like a train suddenly. This was all becoming too much for you to handle. Your chest was beginning to feel tight and you felt your breathing start picking up.  Shakily you lifted a hand and placed it on your heart in an attempt to quell its harsh beating. You vaguely recognized Lisa’s voice asking you to put your hand down so she can continue but her words went in one ear and out of the other.
Blurry spots began to form in your vision and extreme dizziness made you stumble back. Your hand that was on your heart now has migrated up to your head. Your breathing got even more accelerated and you felt your lungs burn.
“Your highness, are you alright?”
That was the last thing you heard before you went toppling down into darkness.

"your breath reeks."
changbin's face contorts as soon as he hears you say those three words. the corners of his lips slowly begin to turn downwards into a scoul, his already puffy eyes squinted as he stares daggers into you.
you watch intently as he shows you the face, your own just inches away. in stark contrast, you light up like a firework – your eyes turning into little crescent moons, your hearty laugh filling the bedroom. you couldn't contain your laughter any longer, and changbin is visibly annoyed. he feels your shoulders shake as they rest above his bicep, cheeks flushed, your hair getting all up in his face as you are both laying on the bed, in the same cuddle you were in from the night before.
he keeps his silence as you continue to let more waves of laughter roll through you, and watches you intently. how could he ever stay mad at you when you look so happy?
"you get sulky so easily!" you finally manage to tell him between chuckles, your tummy starting to feel like it's getting wrapped in a knot from all the laughing. changbin loves when you dote on him, so he pouts extra hard when he noticed you were beginning to calm down (he just wants you to tell him he's cute). your face is still lit up like a bulb when you finally stop and reach out to pinch his cheek, which makes him drop the act just as quickly as it began.
"hmph," changbin shrugs and spins his head around, but you spot the tiniest smirk on his face. his head is faced entirely away from you as he says, "you're so ungrateful. this is what i get for giving my baby a kiss first thing in the morning...hmph!"
you double over again, somehow laughing even harder than before. changbin snaps his head back at you with incredulous speed, mouth agape and eyes wide in a fit of faux shock and offense. you just laugh even harder. changbin swipes his arm back from under your back in retaliation, causing you to make an abrupt landing back onto the mattress.
"ow!" your turn to grumble this time, he just chuckles. "that hurt."
"no it didn't," he confidently says with a chirp in his tone almost, arms reaching to scoop you back into his warm embrace. changbin is satisfied. "you're being dramatic."
you hum with joy and relief from cuddling again – mornings are getting so much colder now and changbin is just toasty – and give your boyfriend his favourite kiss. a loud smooch on each cheek and then his lips. you both know you're going to have to get up eventually, but this is one of those moments you pray you could live in for just a little while longer.

Goodbyes.
Content warning: blood.

_____
Three hours.
Chris was three hours late to training. He was never late.
A sharp blow to my jaw took me out of my thoughts but it was too late. The hit snapped my head to the side, sending a jolt of pain that rattled my teeth. My footing became unbalanced and Changbin took advantage of it immediately. The large man threw me to the ground, making my head snap painfully against the mat. The beanie that had been secured around my head flings away at the force. Then, he expertly twisted my arm in a practiced submission. One wrong move and the bone would snap.
Changbin released my arm but didn’t step back immediately. Instead, he crouched beside me, his thick eyebrows pulled together in confusion. “What’s going on with you, Suki?” he asked, his deep voice uncharacteristically soft. “You never slip like that.”
I groaned, rubbing the back of my head as I sat up. “I just... zoned out. It’s nothing.”
“Zoned out?” He snorted but didn’t smile. “You’ve been fighting like a rookie all morning.” His gaze narrowed, sharp as ever. Changbin wasn’t just a powerhouse in the ring; he was annoyingly perceptive, too.
“I’m fine,” I snapped, shaking out my arm to dull the lingering ache in my shoulder. But his words hit a nerve. I wasn’t fine.
"Fine? If you were fine my ass would have been on the floor thirty seconds into hand-to-hand." Changbin said looking at me with an emotion I couldn't read.
Changbin stood, offering me a hand, which I reluctantly took. “Look, you’re not fine, and it’s obvious,” he said, pulling me to my feet with ease. “Is this about Chris?”
I stiffened, my body betraying me before I could answer.
Changbin tilted his head, his confusion giving way to understanding. “You’re worried about him, aren’t you?”
I swallowed hard, trying to brush past him, but his large hand came down gently on my shoulder, stopping me.
“Suki.” His voice softened even more, the edge replaced by something closer to concern. “He’ll be fine. We know Chris better than anyone—if something was wrong, we’d know by now.”
I nodded my head, fighting to keep an impassive look on my face. Emotions in here were a no go. Even after everything I'd been through I still haven't learned how to turn them off.
“Good,” Changbin said after a moment, stepping back to give me space. His gaze lingered, though, searching my face for cracks in my armor. “Let’s take a break. You’re no good to anyone like this.”
“I said I’m fine,” I shot back, the words sharper than I intended. I immediately regretted it—Changbin didn’t deserve my frustration—but I couldn’t take it back now. Instead, I turned and walked to the side of the training mat, grabbing my water bottle to busy my hands.
Out of the corner of my eye, I saw Changbin watching me, arms crossed. He didn’t press, which I was grateful for, but his silence was almost worse than his words.
I took a slow sip of water, staring at the floor to avoid meeting anyone’s eyes. My reflection glared back at me from the glossy surface of the gym mirror—a mix of frustration, exhaustion, and worry. I hated how obvious it was.
Get a grip, Suki.
Emotions didn’t belong here. Not in training, not in the missions, not anywhere. They made you weak, made you sloppy—just like today. If JYP caught any wind of this bullshit I would be six feet under. And yet, no matter how much I tried to shove them down, they clawed their way to the surface, refusing to stay buried.
Changbin's hand was extended towards me holding my familiar black beanie. I had barely even noticed it fall from my head. I took the material back and gave a half assed smile of thanks in return before securing in back in place.
He didn’t say anything, just stood there with that same unreadable expression. It wasn’t pity—Changbin wasn’t the type—but it was something dangerously close to understanding. How did an empath like Binnie survive in this place?
Still struggling to stay out of my thoughts I didn't have time to react when Changbin pulled me to sit in the middle of the floor beside him. One knee was pulled to his chest and what happened next was fucking insane.
He leaned forward, resting his forehead against his knee. For a moment, I thought he was meditating or something. Then the unimaginable happened.
With zero warning, Changbin slammed his nose down into his knee with a force that made me flinch. The sickening crunch of cartilage breaking ricocheted through the room, making my stomach churn. Blood immediately began pouring from his nose, dripping onto the mat like a macabre faucet.
“Binnie, what the—”
Before I could finish, he grabbed my shoulder, his massive hand clamping down like a vice. His eyes, sharp and unwavering even through the haze of blood, locked onto mine.
I stared at him, dumbfounded. Before I could think, he pressed my head down, angling my face toward his knee. The motion was surprisingly careful—like he was guiding me rather than forcing me.
The next thing I knew, my nose cracked against his knee, sending a jolt of searing pain through my face. I yelped, instinctively clutching my face as warm blood gushed between my fingers.
“You’re an idiot,” I hissed through gritted teeth, glaring at him.
“An idiot with a plan,” he shot back, standing up and hauling me to my feet. His nose was still bleeding like a fountain, but he acted like it didn’t even hurt.
We stumbled toward the door together, blood dripping onto the floor with every step. Changbin raised a hand toward the startled guard at the entrance, his tone calm and clipped as he said, “Infirmary.”
The guard barely blinked, nodding as he let us through. He didn’t ask questions—no one here did unless they wanted to risk a trip to the mat themselves.
By the time we reached the infirmary, my head was pounding, and I was sure my nose was swelling into something unrecognizable. The medics patched us up quickly, muttering about reckless training accidents and how we needed to be more careful.
“You’re both done for the day,” one of them barked, waving a clipboard at us. “Back to your floor. Now.”
I opened my mouth to protest, but Changbin cut me off. “Understood.”
He didn’t wait for me to argue, grabbing my arm again and steering me toward the exit.
Once we were clear of the infirmary and heading back to our quarters, I yanked my arm free and turned on him. “What the hell was that?”
Changbin wiped at the dried blood under his nose with the back of his hand, his expression unreadable again. “You needed a break,” he said simply.
“And you thought this was the best way to do it, you forget I'm human and my healing isn't as fancy as yours.” I gestured to the bloodied mess of both our faces.
“It worked, didn’t it?” He shrugged, the corner of his mouth quirking up just slightly.
I opened my mouth to argue but stopped when I saw the way his gaze softened, more serious now. “You needed to get out of your head, Suki,” he said quietly. “And I needed to make sure you were actually okay.”
The elevator in front of us dinged and we both stepped inside. Changbin pressed our floor and the doors closed around us.
"Are you coming to my room or am I coming to yours?" he asked making me roll my eyes. Binnie was persistent that was for sure.
"I'd rather not be surrounded by your body odor, my room is fine." I say as the elevator jostles to a stop at our floor.
I crinkle my nose for extra affect and shove the swoll man out of the opening doors. He looks back at me with wide offended eyes and I notice the bruising on his nose already fading. Lucky.
"I do not smell bad, thank you very much." he says his voice a few octaves higher than normal.
I followed him into the hallway, letting the corners of my mouth twitch upward. “Oh no, you smell amazing. Eau de gym socks and cheap cologne. Very you.”
His hand flew to his chest, clutching it like I’d mortally wounded him. “I’ll have you know this cologne is imported! Premium!”
“Premium garbage,” I shot back, brushing past him toward my door.
I took my key out of my back pocket and twirled it into the keyhole. The door then flung open revealing my unmade bed and bare looking room. A couple of mismatched pillows were haphazardly shoved into the corner of the bed, and the desk near the wall looked more like a dumping ground for random odds and ends.
I walked inside taking my shoes off by the door and ordering Binnie to do the same. His large shoes looked funny next to my tiny ones.
I lit a vanilla scented candle before whipping open the freezer of my mini fridge. A collection of ice-packs greeted my vision and I grabbed a smaller one. The cold burned my skin as I pressed it to my face but I endured it. As a human I couldn't just wait a few hours for injuries to be magically healed, I wish I had such luxury.
I sat down on my bed the soft mattress sinking under my weight as Binnie pulled my desk chair, positioning it right in front of me. He sat down on it backwards, and his burly arms rested against the top of the backrest. His chin found a natural perch against his forearms, and for a moment, he just stared at me. That cocky grin of his had vanished, replaced by an expression far too serious for my liking.
I sighed inwardly, already sensing where this was headed. He was gearing up for one of those talks. The kind where I wouldn’t get away with deflecting or brushing it off.
“Well?” I said, breaking the silence and pressing the ice pack harder to my face. “Spit it out, Binnie.”
"I love you, Chris loves you, hell we've only known Emi for two months but she loves you too," he started looking at me intently. "I know that you don't like to talk about things, but we are your family. Blood or not thats just how it is."
I blinked, my fingers tightening around the ice pack as his words settled over me. He and Chris had told me before. But only in the darkness of the night where we could remain hidden, the vulnerability of the three words feeling to much.
For a moment, I didn’t respond. The vanilla candle flickered faintly on the shelf, the scent filling the room in warm contrast to the chill pressed against my face. My throat felt tight, the kind of tight that came before a flood of emotions I wasn’t ready to deal with.
"I-I can't-" I started but was cut off by Changbin.
"You don't need too, we know," he said. The way he said it was almost… too reassuring, like he knew exactly what I was feeling without needing me to say a word. But that was just Binnie, he always knew.
Red would be the only person to hear those words from my lips. Saying it to someone else made it too real and when things become real they get ripped away from me. I couldn't allow myself to go through something like that again.
"I loved someone once," I whispered looking away. Anything but looking at him. Tears were quick to cloud my vision. "He was like a combination of you and Chris. Sweet, fierce, and protective."
Binnie didn’t say anything at first. He just watched me, his presence still and steady. There was no judgment in his eyes, no pressure to continue, just a quiet understanding that felt like it was slowly filling the space between us.
My hands tightened around the ice pack, my fingers trembling slightly. I couldn’t look at him—couldn’t let him see how much I was falling apart inside.
"You don't have to tell me," he finally said, his voice softer now, like he understood exactly how hard it was for me to speak. "But I’m here, Suki. Always."
I nodded, swallowing back the tears. My heart felt too full, too fragile, like if I let myself feel everything, it would all come crashing down.
“I just… I can’t do it again, he was my best friend,” I whispered, the words barely escaping my lips. “I can’t lose someone like that again, Binnie.”
My chest tightened with the weight of all the things I’d buried, and before I knew it, the sobs I’d been holding back surged forward, raw and uncontrollable. Silent tears streamed down my face, each one carrying with it the grief I’d never allowed myself to fully feel. I could feel the fragile grip I had on my emotions slipping away, the dam breaking, and I couldn’t stop it.
I had always prided myself on holding it together, on staying composed. But with Binnie here, seeing me at my weakest, I felt the weight of everything I’d buried crash over me.
Without a word, Changbin moved from my desk chair and sat beside me on the bed. His presence, steady and unwavering, was the anchor I didn’t realize I needed. One arm wrapped around my shoulder, pulling me in for a half-hug, but it wasn’t enough. The comfort I needed was more than just physical.
I buried my face in his shoulder, the throbbing pain in my nose a distant echo compared to the turmoil that raged inside me. My arms shot up around his neck, pulling him tightly to me as I let go of everything I had been holding inside.
He didn’t hesitate. His other arm came around me, holding me close, letting me crumble against him without judgment. His body was warm and solid, a contrast to the storm of emotion that shook me.
“It’s okay,” he murmured. But it wasn't. Red was gone.
"No its not," I sobbed my voice hoarse, "sometimes I pretend he's still here. Sometimes... when I hug you I close my eyes and pretend its him."
The words broke through the chaos in my chest, each one a heavy confession I’d never said out loud before. Saying them now, admitting how deep the lie ran, made the rawness of it all hit harder.
"And Chris, always making sacrifices for us. Just like he did," I sobbed. "I know that he's the next thing the world will take from me."
Changbin’s grip on me tightened, his warmth enveloping me, but his silence was telling. I could feel his chest rise and fall against mine as he processed what I’d said. He didn’t pull away or try to fix it. Instead, he just held me, like he understood the enormity of what I was carrying.
I looked up at my friend and Binnie’s eyes softened as he gently cupped my face. His calloused thumb brushing away the tears that clung to my cheeks.
"Chris will be okay," he whispered. Tears of his own had started to fall down his cheeks too.
We stayed like that for a while. Quietly crying together.
Unbeknownst to us, Chris was standing just outside my door, his hand frozen in midair where he had been about to knock. He hadn’t meant to eavesdrop, but my muffled sobs had stopped him in his tracks. Hearing my broken words, my fears for him, and the quiet reassurance Binnie had tried to give—it was more than he could bear.
Chris leaned heavily against the wall, his breathing uneven. His chest ached with the weight of what he’d heard, with the love and pain woven into my voice. He’d come to say goodbye, intending to keep it short and clean—just another mission, like so many before. But now, hearing us like this, his resolve faltered.
For a brief moment, he considered staying. Just one more day. Just long enough to ease the pain he knew his absence would leave behind. But then he shook his head, his jaw tightening. Staying would only make it harder, for all of us.
He wiped at his own eyes, trying to compose himself, but the tremble in his hands betrayed him.
You’ll be okay without me, he thought, almost as if saying it to himself could make it true. You have each other. You’ll be okay.
He straightened, his footsteps silent as he retreated down the hall.
Back in my room, I hadn’t noticed the faint shuffle of movement outside the door, too consumed by the storm of emotions that had overtaken me.
That night, Chris left without a trace. No note, no goodbye, no indication that he’d even been there, or when he would return. When I woke the next morning, the ache in my chest felt heavier, sharper—like I had lost something all over again.
I didn't know that this morning would be the last time I saw Chris before the world as we knew it began to crumble.

Note
Could you possibly do a reading for skz about how they show affection? Or maybe how they wish to receive it? I really love your work ❤️
Sure but it's going to be one card pull for each.
*For laughs!*
Chan: 9 of cups
By telling you how much you mean to him. He tells you, you are the person of his dreams. You are the person he's always pined for. He's just flat out tells you and he expects the same from you!
Minho: Knight of cups
He would also tell you, but he'd do it in a more romantic way. Maybe over a romantic dinner or a night on the town. King of romance this one.
Changbin: 7 of wands
By showing up whenever you needed him. No matter how rough things got he would always stick by you. You would certainly not get left behind. Ain't no way he's leaving you in the dust.
Hyunjin: 7 of cups
You are his muse. Every piece of art he does, it's got some semblance of you in it. Now, whether or not he wants to admit it is a different thing.
Jisung: 7 of pentacles
By thinking about your future together. Well, more like planning your future together. He's very vocal about what he wants out of this relationship with you. Nothing is a secret.
Felix: Queen of pentacles
Mothering energy. More like homemaker energy. He's willing to do whatever makes you most feel at home with him. For some reason, I feel like he's giving crow energy? He likes to give you things. Whether it's things he's made or things he bought because it reminded him of you
Seungmin: 4 of wands
Showing you off to the public right away, like hard launching you right off the bat. Making sure the whole world knows you are his and he is yours.
Jeongin: 10 of cups
Locking you down right away. Like you are his person. No one else can compare to what he has with you. He wants the whole world to know it too!
