Mount Kailash is a 21,772-foot (6,638-meter) mountain on the plateau of remote Tibet. It was considered central to the world and sacred snowy peaks to Hindus, Buddhists, Jains, and Bon. Thousands of pilgrimages go there every year walking around the peak but never climb. The richer scenery, the beautiful lakes, the Himalayan mountain ranges, and the Tibetan cultures attract other tourists to visit the area.
