re: the kiss scene-- i think it's less of the act of going from hugging to kissing and more that he thought about it fully logically instead of emotionally at all? i'm not really sure either (fellow aroace) but i think that's what people are saying. or maybe that he skipped hand-holding, that's another possibility

i genuinely didn't even cross my mind that thinking of a kiss in that way would make it so obvious, because that's literally how i would also approach it (just like you said, logically instead of emotionally)
