Hey cottagecore peeps, heres some woodstove tips from my grandpa ✨
- Dont use wood you cut that year, its "greenwood" because of the moisture it doesn't burn as well and creates lots of creosote
- Hardwoods generally burn hotter and longer than softwoods
- Creosote is a real issue, you may have to get on the roof to clean your chimney
- Keep a mirror next to your woodstove so you can check for creosote buildup about once a week
- Ash needs to be emptied once a day, but newer woodstoves are more efficient and may only need to be cleaned every 3-4 days
- Cut timber in the winter, there is less sap in the trunk of the tree
- A facecord (standard wood stack size) is 4ft×8ft×16in, in a particularly cold year he used 21 facecord to heat his medium sized house
- insurance companies dont like woodstoves in the house, but run more efficiently than those outside
- If you keep the (dried) timber inside there will be bugs, my grandpa sprays the wood after its stacked
- if you're keeping the wood in a basement, cut a hole in the wall (just trust me)
- Save your paper products, they make good fire starter
Remember to contribute to good forest management! Plant trees! And don't take more than you need!

Soft, tall, glass worker. Leather apron. Hands that seem like they could engulf a bears paw. A gentle giant. Not chiseled, muscular but maybe a little heavyset. He works with hot glass all day, callouses on his hands. short hair. long clothes.Cleans up real well when he gets home.
Hes so sweet, so soft. So nice. Like, almost impossibly kind and sweet. A defender of the weak, a lap full of puppies or kittens or babies.
Fantastic kissser. great, AMAZING kisser. The best hugger you have ever met. Pretty okay in bed. Takes pleasure in giving pleasure. the kind of man that makes certain to please his partner and let her know he appreciates her. He can make you feel like the last person on earth.
vaguely religious, comes from an orthodox family. loves his Momma, respects his Daddy. lots of sibs. sisters and brothers. big family, huge. a tribe that takes in strays. Visits his grandma, mows her lawn.
sore hearted, but it hasn't made him bitter. the kind of man that focuses his attention on you when you're speaking. Makes interesting conversation asks intelligent questions. Curious. willing to learn. open, almost...Too open? Baggage doesn't seem to faze him. Couldnt lie to save his life, even when a lie is kinder than the truth.
Repaired club foot. walks with slight limp. Didn't let that stop him from football in highschool. Doesn't effect him much now. Can't go on long walks, or hikes. Prefers ramps over stairs.
owns his own house. avid hunter. Terrible cook. okay on a grill. Big deck, house in the country, pond he dug by hand in the back. jacuzzi on the deck, but no pool. Hates water over his head, not a great swimmer.
He has a hard temper that isn't easily aroused. But when it is, he has to go off alone or else he knows he'll say something awful. His Momma used to send him out to split wood. He continues the tradition, though his fireplace runs off pellets. His brothers tease him about the facecords of stacked wood until he runs them to his neighbors.
