F2F ➝ Cocktails & Conversation
It had been a weird turn of events. Quinn was never one to engage and initiate connections, but there was something about the NYU professor that caused her to act out of character. Her trip to Savannah was unexpected to say the least, but the phone call she received from Finn upon her return was even more so. It seemed as though she made just as much of an impression on him that he did on her. So it was easy for her to extend the invitation once more. Quinn was a creature of habit and she very rarely traveled outside of Manhattan, so it was only natural that she invited Finn to one of the bars that she frequented often.
The Press Lounge seemed like the perfect place for a first date encounter. The views of the city and the river were absolutely breathtaking and the music was upbeat. The combination of that and the martinis she’d been drinking put her in a fairly good mood, but as she looked over to Finn as they took in the views at the edge of the rooftop, he didn’t seem to be on the same level as she was. “Are you doing okay over there?” Quinn asked, a slight hint of concern in her voice.

shut up & drink | f2f
WHO: sam evans & (OPEN)
WHEN: 10/31, evening
WHERE: The Maggie
WARNINGS: alcohol, drinking
The last place Sam wanted to be was the one place that absolutely needed him. There was no way he could leave the Halloween crowd to just the lone bartender. Marie was out for the night, leaving Sam with the new hire, a kid that graduated a few years after him whose name he couldn’t remember (It was Terry or Barry), but grimaced every time the younger guy so much as picked up a glass. He’d managed to break at least two already and the night was still young. So he sent him around to buss tables (and hopefully not clean his family’s business out of glasses), while he tackled the bar. It was crowded because Halloween was always crowded and Sam’s movements were fluid as he poured and mixed, keeping the drinks flowing and crowd moving steadily. Ideally, things would’ve been easier with Quinn, but Quinn was apparently off finding her fucking self or whatever it was rich people did when they longer needed to play blue collar, so it was up to him.
The energy in the air at The Maggie was...hard to read. There was karaoke and patrons decked out in costumes, talking loudly over the singing that ranged from decent to ear-splitting and Sam had no idea how Ronnie, the karaoke guy managed to tolerate any of that shit, because at least he had the customers and cocktails to distract him from noise. But at least Ronnie wasn’t stuck with small talk. And Sam had gotten a few looks when he made sure to point out the sign behind the bar that read ‘No Gossip, No Bullshit Talk’ whenever someone tried to start up a conversation about the news that still kept Castleport in a tight hold. He didn’t care, though. The bar was supposed to be a spot for all, and the last thing he wanted was that shit disturbing the vibe. If someone had a problem, they knew where the exit was. He’d just refilled a bunch of drafts for some college-aged kids when a familiar face sidled up to the bar. “Let me get these to the jackasses dressed like Ninja Turtles and I’ll be right back,” he said, sliding the glasses towards the Turtles and pocketing the money before turning back. “What’re you drinking tonight?”

Escaping the Set Ups || F2F - Crystal and Toby
@carterxxbrooks
Crystal had been set up from her parents for the past two years and bearing in mind she was only 21, she felt like she didn’t need to settle down anytime soon, she was too busy focusing on trying to be an author, making her dream come true was more important to her then tryin to settle down but her parents wouldn’t listen to her. It was friday night and her parents had made her come home for dinner from college and she knew the reason was because she had invited a guy over to theirs who could be another suiter.
As she was sitting there at dinner going through the same old boring conversations that she hated going through, she sat there putting her hand through her hair and sighed before looking at her mom and then the guy, he was not someone she wanted to even imagine a future with, yes he was smart, yes he had a good future ahead of him but it was not what she wanted. So after dinner, she quickly ran out of hte house and booked a cab without saying to her mom or dad or the guy who was there. She took a cab to the bar and as she got there, she walked in and ordered a cocktail and looked around at the vibe and the people there.
