pov: the prettiest, funniest girl at your school throws an end-of-semester pool party, and you get there way too early and are kinda embarrassed, but it turns out she's super nervous about it going well and is actually really insecure and insists people only like her bc she's into cameras so she knows how to take good photos of herself and she doesn't really look like that in real life, and you end up helping her pick her swimsuit and set up the party, and you talk so much that you end up being the last person there, barely even noticing time passing as you curl up on the loungers together; it's hard to know for sure, but you think this might just be the start to the best summer ever
screenshots from the 5/7/24 stream, taken by me! the whole stream was just so aesthetic I couldn't help myself, this post was formulating as I watched the stream live; I'll add links once the stream is archived!

Did you see Daisy's interview about Reylo? "I don't know how I feel about [Reylo] because everyone's talking about like the toxic thing of a relationship when it's like -- it's essentially emotional. It's a tricky road, I do feel like deep down Kylo thinks what he's doing is right and doesn't think he's wrong but he's killed *so* many people. So I can't really get behind it now, in a personal way [...] Well maybe there's redemption, who knows, maybe we explore it in the film."
I recall John Boyega saying a lot of things in the press tours for TLJ where the answers basically all came from where things left off in TFA, despite the fact that he knew damn well they weren’t going to stay that way in TLJ. The very fact that Daisy said “maybe we explore it in the film” (with a huge cheeky grin on her face), as if she hasn’t acted out all the scenes already and knows whether they did or not should tell you that she’s being evasive. She says she “doesn’t know” how she feels about it because she’s pretending to have the same information as us and can only go off the ambiguous ending of TLJ as her basis for whether Kylo is relationship material or not. But she’s already said in the past, not long after TLJ came out, that she believes Kylo is redeemable, even shutting down an interviewer who said he wasn’t. She’s also liked and retweeted Reylo art, followed Reylo accounts, and egged on speculation about the relationship by telling Judi Dench to ask her “What’s the deal with Reylo” in a staged interrogation pre-TLJ.
Also, John Boyega straight up said the Rey/Kylo relationship was what the fans cared about and claims JJ delivered on it and KMT, an open and unabashed Reylo, said that the message of Star Wars was “love always wins”. Daisy simply isn’t allowed to openly come out in support of the ship because of it’s nature as a spoiler.
An actor’s job, once they’ve wrapped, is to generate positive press for their films. Even if they’re acting in absolute shit and they know it, they have to speak well of their projects, especially about the creative decisions, and choose their words carefully regarding things that may or may not be plot points.
The actors can talk all they want about St0rmpilot because everyone knows it’s not going to happen, but saying they support it generates positive press for acknowledging and supporting a gay pairing, whereas explicitly shutting it down or expressing a lack of support would get the whole production accused of homophobia.
The actors can also support F1nnRose, since it’s already canon and people expect it to stay that way. In the unlikely event that it’s not endgame though, and an actor were to express that they didn’t think they were meant to be, or supported another pairing, that could be seen as spoiling that Rose dies or breaks up with Finn. But in the more likely scenario where F1nnRose is endgame, they’re not going to want the actors openly disagreeing with the film, especially after the shitstorm Mark started with his comments about Luke’s portrayal in TLJ.
This is also why they're always so quick to shut down F1nnRey and D4mRey as just friends. Because if the actors say they support F1nn/D4mRey when either F1nnRose or Reylo are endgame, then it’s the same problem described above where they’re fanning the flames of disgruntled fans instead of getting people on board with what the film actually gives us. But if F1nnRey or D4mRey are canon, then openly supporting them could set people up to expect Rose or Ben to die, so they don’t get invested in the events building up to their tragic demise.
With Reylo, they obviously want people on board with it if it’s canon, but they don’t want people to know it’s canon before it hits theaters. Daisy can’t unambiguously say she doesn’t support it if it is canon, but she couldn’t say so even if Ben were to die unredeemed because that would make his fate less ambiguous. But she also can’t directly state she supports it because then everyone would know it is canon, because they’d never allow her to say she wanted Ben to live and Reylo to get together if the film, which they’re trying to convince us has a satisfying conclusion, doesn’t deliver on that.
In short;
St0rmpilot - Okay for the actors to support because it’s so far removed from the realm of possibility there’s no fear of spoiling anything or creating backlash.
F1nnRose - Okay to support because it’s already canon, and even if it's not endgame they still want you to be invested before they pull the rug out from under you (which I doubt they will).
F1nnRey/D4mRey - Must be dismissed because they contradict F1nnRose and Reylo, the two main ships the franchise is trying to sell us on and the most likely to be endgame. But even in the unlikely event that F1nnRose and Reylo are not endgame, they’re still going to want you to be invested in the ships before they sink them.
Reylo - Can not be explicitly supported or not supported, especially by Daisy because;
She can’t say if she disagrees with the ending because it would generate backlash.
Therefore, any opinion she does express must to be in-line with what’s actually in the film (even if she’s lying about how she really feels).
Therefore, any opinion she expresses (again, even if it’s not her real opinion) is a spoiler.
Therefore, all she can realistically say is “I don’t know”, “wait and see”, and “maybe we explore that”, even if she absolutely does know where they take the relationship and how she feels about it.
