!!CALLING ALL VOICE ACTORS AND MARKIPLIER EGO FANS!!
My name is Caysē/Cas and as some of you have seen I have posted a fanfiction by the name of The Real Last Goodbye which includes my and my friend’s personal ocs, and Mark egos that mare from Who Killed Markiplier, In Space With Markiplier and A Heist With Markiplier.
I’m making an audio series including these characters and the problems that led up to The Real Last Goodbye. The name is currently pending, so suggestions are appreciated.
!!This casting is solely based on volunteers. No one will be getting paid!!
Before you audition, it is imperative that you read The Real Last Goodbye which is located at the bottom of my page.
The voices of Terri and Chloe will be filled by me and my friend, while the others are for you to audition for! You may audition for two characters!
A brief description of the character will be included beside their name as well as an audition line. This line will be recorded as a voice recording (mp3 or WAV) and emailed to [email protected] and [email protected]. You may perform the line with any emotion and with whatever pacing you please.
Recording Ex.: “Hi, my name is F/L (preferred name if you will) and I am auditioning for the character[s] __. Proceed with line.”
Characters holding a major role will have ‘Ⓜ️’ before their name, so please be wary of their importance. Canon characters will be marked with a ‘🖊️’
Auditionable characters:
Dawn: An optimistic young woman with a kind voice that is high pitched but not annoyingly so. Her romantic interest is Illinois | “Well, that’s no way to handle a problem like that! Sometimes you’ve got to ask for help!”
Laury: A shy young woman who has a gentle voice but has some sort of “mommy” take to it. Her romantic interest is Noir(iplier) | “Oh, I see. Well in that case you’d be mistaken. I am not weak, I am shy. There’s a big difference.”
Ⓜ️ Georgia: A particularly bold woman with a British accent. Speaking mannerisms are that of Rarity from My Little Pony. Her romantic interest is Actor Mark and Wilford | “My stars! Don’t scare me like that! You never know how bad a little startle can end!”
🖊️ Yancy: A bold and kind young man with a Brooklyn accent. His romantic interest is Terri | “Hey, hey, let’s not talk to her like that, eh? I wouldn’t somethin’ unsavory to happin’ to youse.”
🖊️ Illinois: An adventurous, cunning and flirtatious take on Indiana Jones. His romantic interest is Dawn| “Now…I haven’t seen anything like you. Which is rare. I’ve seen a lot of things.”
Ⓜ️🖊️ Darkiplier: A quiet and protective man who usually speaks more in his chest (lowly). His romantic interest is Chloe. | “I’ve done lots of things that I regret. Though, my regrets stop at you.” (This actor will also get to play the role of Damien)
Noiriplier: A mysterious detective like man who tends to draw out his sentences. His romantic interest is Laury | “It’s not often that I find something so intriguing, so I’ll let you go. Just this once.”
Ⓜ️🖊️ Actor Mark: A flamboyant and gaudy man who very open mouthed when speaking, always flaunting. His romantic interest is Georgia and Celine | “Oh wow, that’s how you’ve decided to treat me after all the good I’ve done for you? Absolutely unbelievable.”
Ⓜ️🖊️ Wilford: A silly and wild man who exaggerates his words. Think of flailing your head around when speaking. His romantic interest is Georgia and Celine | “Now let’s turn that frown upside down why don’t we? Questions always need answers unless they’re those stupid universe questions. Then they wouldn’t have answers.”
Male presenting voice: Mainly for fill in’s of voices that we will not have.
Female presenting voice: Mainly for fill in’s of voices that we will not have.
—
Please have fun with this!!
Auditions start now! And End January 26th, so please get your recordings emailed! The cast list will be posted on February 2nd.
PLEASE DM OR EMAIL ME IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS ABOUT CHARACTERS OR THE OVERALL PRODUCTION. I WILL GET BACK TO YOU WITHIN 48 HOURS OF YOUR MESSAGE.

The Great Produce 48 Rewatch: Ep 3, Grade Reassignments Concluded
Tumblr media
Welcome back, National Producer-nim, and Happy New Year!
This crazy Produce48 Rewatch project is just flying by! In episode 1, we saw the girls enter the studio and begin their auditions. In episode 2, we saw the end of the auditions and the dorm move-in, as well as the video evaluations for their final grade reassignment, which we covered in the previous post. Now, in episode 3, we’ll finish the grade reassignments, see the huge performance of Nekkoya, and see the beginning of the first Challenge Mission! Of course, in this post, we’ll only see as much as I can cover with only 30 screenshots, which is up to the end of grade reassignments. Feel free to watch along: https://kshow123.tv/show/produce-48/episode-3.html
Tumblr media
We start off with a short clip of YGK+ model Ahn Ye Won on the phone with her mom. The 17-year old would-be idol can’t help but cry. In her journal, she has written “I started crying as soon as I called my mom. I told her it’s hard. I wanted to go home.”
This kicks off a montage of trainees expressing their doubts and fears. Future Kep1er member Kim Dayeon voice overs, “It’s a lot harder than I expected.” Previously voice-less Goto Moe says, “I felt like I lack a lot.” Show-punching-bag Shin Suyhun says she feels like she’s the only one falling behind, which is definitely not true. Friendly Choi Yena says she’s mad at herself. Kato Yuuka journals, “I feel like I’m facing a wall.” As we see Honda Hitomi’s cute face, we hear from Yu Min Young, the mint-colored-polka-dot auditioner, who wonders, “Is this all I got?” They’re all so tired, emotionally and physically.
But peppy music kicks in and the montage gets more cheerful, as girl after girl says something like “I want to debut!” and “I’m going to keep trying!”
Tumblr media
After the title/credits, we get right back to where we left off at the end of episode 2 -- with the Great Grade Reshuffling.
As a reminder,
Jeremy* is giving the news to the A class
Psychopath giving the news to the B class
Cheetah giving the news to the C class
Mary J Lee giving the news to the D class
Dance Bae giving the news to the F class
*That’s what I call Lee Hongki
Tumblr media
We don’t see much of Mary J Lee, but she seems really great. These are her grade-delivering heels!
Also, a lot of the Japanese girls aren’t present because they’re off doing something else for their AKB48 jobs.
So the plan for the Great Grade Reshuffling is to have the girls from the lower grades move to their new grades first. This means that the A-class will find out their fates last. Jeremy tells them that if a lot of new girls arrive in the A classroom, there is an even higher chance that they’ll move down.
Side note: It's interesting that Jeremy was chosen to deliver the news to the A-class girls. He wasn't their vocal teacher -- Soyou was -- so he would have been comparatively unfamiliar. It might just have been that Soyou was unavailable, but I could convince myself that they chose Jeremy because Soyou is too nice to mess with their heads the way that Jeremy does. (Clearly Jeremy is just acting on orders from production, of course.)
We've already seen a few people's grades, but let's see a few more, and then when we're done I'll tell you everyone's grades and the new makeups of each group.
Tumblr media
First up is a trainee moving from D down to F. It turns out to be YGK+ model Choi Yeon Soo, who completely forgot the words during her video evaluation. We saw her being sweet to Sailor Mercury earlier on, drawing a little picture to encourage the 14-year-old to get some sleep. She seems like a really nice girl, even if she might be a nepo baby. It’s a bummer that she has to move down to F class, but at least she’ll get to join her equally nice label mate Ahn Ye Won, who has failed to move up from F.
Tumblr media
Yewon laughs at Yeonsoo a little, but I don’t think it’s mean-spirited. From what we see of both girls, they seem really nice.
Next we see a trainee moving down to F from  -- it’s Jang Gyuri from fromis_9, as discussed earlier. The girls are really really chincha chincha shocked.
Tumblr media
There’s Huh Yujin, future Le Sserafim, wearing yellow, second in a column of two.
Next, there’s a trainee moving from D to B. And it’s Miru-chan, as we talked about earlier. The Japanese girls already in class D are surprised to see her, because she charming and they consider her a good dancer. But the judges think her singing is unstable and her dancing is “heavy,” like she’s getting twice as much gravity as anyone else. It’s just because she’s sad! Aww, Miru-chan!
Tumblr media
Next, we’ll see a girl moving to C from F. Of course, Chiba Erii would love to move up to C -- she’s not confident about her singing but she is confident with her dancing. But as we know, she’s staying in F. Dance Bae says, of Erii and her dancing, “Every time I see her, it’s so sad.”
Tumblr media
She really does have an arresting face, though.
So who is moving up from F to C? Well, as previously mentioned, it’s Goto Moe, the one with laryngitis on audition day.
Tumblr media
She says she thinks the trainers are giving her a C for "chance." Aww, this is sweet. She’s still a pretty terrible singer but hey, she’s getting better. Ganbatteyo, Moe-chan!
Who moved to C from D?
It’s Very Pretty Girl Kim Minju, who has also proven herself to be a Very Hardworking Girl. Dance Bae says, of Minju’s audition, “She’s not very good, but she doesn’t deserve to stay in D.” That’s Dance Bae for you! It’s accurate -- Minju’s singing was sometimes on key, but sometimes a few tones off, and though she seems to have done the whole dance, she still doesn’t exactly own the floor. Still, it’s great improvement. Minju, fighting!
Tumblr media
She voice overs something kind of sad: “I was told that I’m ambiguous. I’m not very good at singing or dancing or even acting. Then it said C next to my name for my final grade. I thought I was always ambiguous. I was disappointed.” I get what she’s saying. She’s so pretty that the entertainment industry is looking for an excuse to put her on screen, but she doesn’t really stand out with any particular skill. Aww. At least she seems fairly self-aware.
Next to Minju in the shot above is Nakanishi Chiyori, who wore the pink fluffy skirt in What's Your Name?. Looks like she’s not thrilled with moving up only one spot. Hey, take your wins, Chiyori!! Some people in F stayed there -- it could always be worse.
Tumblr media
Next, someone is moving from C to B -- let’s see who it be! As mentioned in a previous recap, it’s Son Eunchae, future Bugaboo, who got so much story focus. She seems pretty happy, though -- not annoyed that she didn’t get into A class.
But who *did* make it into A class, stealing spots from the current A-class girls? Even though the spots aren’t limited?
First, it’s Kim Shihyun, future member of Everglow, who literally comes running in to the A-classroom. She’s obviously delighted to be there.
Tumblr media
We see a clip of her evaluation video, and obviously, she does great.
Next is Ah Yujin, who also moved up from B.
Tumblr media
Also moving up from B is little Kang Damin (label mate of flat tummied Hwang Soyeon) and  future Rocket Punch Juri.
Tumblr media
I hate that the staff told the A girls that if more girls moved up from lower ranks that they were more likely to move down, because as the lower ranked girls enter the room, no one seems happy to see them. Kind of a rotten welcome. Of course, that must be editing, too. I bet Soyeon was happy to see Damin.
Moving up from C are Ko Yujin (“Hyuna lookalike”) and Honda Hitomi, as I mentioned earlier. We see a clip of Hitomi’s previous practice that we’ve never seen -- Soyou saying that Hitomi has one of the weakest vocals among all the Japanese girls. The judges were all shocked at how much she had improved. Wow, that’s great! I love that. (Kim Nayoung, future Lightsum, also joins, but we don’t see her come in.)
The A-classroom is starting to fill up. Jeremy, piling on the pressure, tells the girls that they should know that there was also a girl who moved up from F class all the way to A, but that she’s in Japan right now due to a scheduling conflict.
We get a cute scene of Jeremy telling Yabuki Nako that she moved all the way up to A, via video chat. She screams and jumps up and down. It’s adorable. Her dream came true!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The new members of A-class: Kim Shihyun, Kang Damin, Ah Yujin, Juri, Kim Nayoung, Ko Yujin, and Honda Hitomi
Now that the new members of A class are there, the current members of A get their new grades. They aren’t supposed to react or spill the beans, so as to maintain the suspense (that I already ruined).
Who is this formerly A-class person walking through the door of B-class?
Tumblr media
The Starship girls -- including original-face-Wonyoung -- are shocked that it’s…. Yuehua's Choi Yena.
Tumblr media
She looks so different without her cheerfulness and without her ponytail. It must have been weird for her to experience the happiness of her Yuehua labelmate joining A class, only for her to almost immediately leave it behind.
Now, who’s this coming into Class C? MNET drags it out, of course, but it’s… Kwon Eunbi.
Tumblr media
She sits down behind Kim Cho Yeon (fire eyes girl) and Kim Doah (future Fanatics/GP999), who have also both moved down from A class with her, and quietly begins to cry. None of them really has the strength to comfort the other at this point.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Kim Su Yun, future Rocket Punch and current labelmate of Eunbi’s, covers her face to hide her tears. Suyun probably didn’t come on this show genuinely hoping to make the top 12 -- she’s here for exposure, mostly, and the experience -- but she knows that 22-year-old Eunbi really NEEDS this.
Eunbi tearfully explains that she feels bad because as an unnie, she always tells her younger labelmates that they can do this -- and she feels like she broke her promise.
Back in A class, Jeremy announces that the trainee who is moving down to F should go now. Someone stands up, and no one looks that surprised, just sad. They saw her recording her evaluation video and knew that something like this was possible, even likely. A pixelated blur moves down the hall and makes its way to F class. Who could it be? The F class girls are shocked to see that it’s Jo Yuri, one of the Chewing Gum auditioners (she was in the lemon yellow).
Tumblr media
We see a clip of her evaluation video, in which she completely froze. Poor kid. She’s only 16. When I was 16, I had a fight with my mom the night before the SATs and I couldn’t sleep all night, like not at all, not even for 10 minutes. I was just seething with rage and I couldn’t make it stop. I had to go take the SATs on no sleep at all and I just stared at it, like, what is this? What is 2+2 again? If my whole future had rested on that exact test, my whole future would have turned out quite different than it did.
Thankfully, I had another chance, and thankfully, Jo Yuri will have another chance too, when she does some of the upcoming missions. So it’ll be ok, Yuri.
Now that Yuri and the other “failures” have been kicked out of the room, Jeremy tells the 14 remaining A-class girls that they will be the center of the big performance of Nekkoya.
And here is the final arrangement of trainees:

After she left the competition, she went back to HKT48 and performed with them until 2020, when she graduated, saying she wanted to leave the J-pop sphere. However, in 2022 she debuted in a J-pop group called Fruits Zipper. Per their website:
FRUITS ZIPPER is a 7-member idol group consisting of Tsukiashi Amane, Matsumoto Karen, Manaka Mana, Sakurai Yui, Hayase Noel, Nakagawa Luna, and Chinzei Suzuka.
The group was formed from participants in ASOBISYSTEM’s idol project KAWAII LAB. The group’s name combines FRUITS, meaning ‘to bear fruit,’ and ZIP, meaning ‘to give energy.’ The group’s concept is ‘from Harajuku to the world,’ and the group will transmit what they call ‘NEW KAWAII’ from Harajuku, an area known for fashion and individuality, to the world.
From collaborating with renowned creators to selling out monthly concerts, the girls have already made a name for themselves at numerous large-scale events despite having only just debuted.
Even before FRUITS ZIPPER made its debut, the girls attracted plenty of attention with their stunning visuals. With their cute image and incredibly powerful stage performances, the group has already captured the hearts of fans around the world.
Tumblr media
They’re doing a thing and honestly, I’m here for it. That’s Amane in red in the middle.
This is either their most popular MV or an ad for Beanie Babies. I’m not 100% sure. I’m not adding it to my playlist, I guess I’ll say.
Her tiktok is pretty active, as is her insta. Looks like she’s dabbling in gravure a bit, and also doing some modeling for magazines and brands. Get that money, girl!
Tumblr media
Ganbatte and Happy trails, Amane-chan!
And that's it for this post! I'll see you in the next one, when I provide a bit of analysis on the overall grade changes. We're getting close to the first challenge mission. Thanks for reading, and I hope you have a great New Year!

The Walking Dead Q&A — Hilarie Burton Morgan On Why Lucille Would Love Lucille The Bat
Tumblr media
Hilarie Burton Morgan, who plays Negan's wife Lucille on The Walking Dead, talks about working with her real-life husband Jeffrey Dean Morgan for the first time and her extended walker scene.
Q: You've called it a "joy" working with your husband. What made the experience so great?
A: I have been with Jeffrey for 12 years now and we have so many friends from all the different jobs that we've had and so I have a pretty good sense of who he is on set, but we've never been able to act together before and that could have gone bad. But, to my delight, it really didn't. I didn't realize how similar we are on set. I think, over the course of our careers, we've both had to handle some pretty heavy subject matter, and so, in between takes, we both like to laugh and we like to keep the crew in good spirits and joke around with them and keep the set really light. And so, even though we were tackling very serious subject matter in this episode, we really had a very good time together. We've been in quarantine with our children for a year and so being able to work together on set was kind of like a date. It was the most grown-up time we've had since February of last year. And it was just so nice to meet all the people that he's been working with for the last five years. I would hear about them, but they see more of him than I do, so it was really lovely to get to know everybody. Any expectations I had, the actual experience far exceeded them.
Q: I understand it can sometimes be hard to be a guest star on a TV show, but how was your experience as a guest star in this case, since you were already familiar with the show's cast and crew?
A: My career has always been a little bit of a departure from the norm. I haven't auditioned in years. I like to work with people I know and I'm a terrible auditioner and so my work is all dependent on pre-existing relationships, whether that's an actor I've worked with before who recommends me or a producer or a director that says, "Hey, I worked with Hilarie Burton once. She can handle this." And so what it means is every job I do is incredibly special because it means someone else put their reputation on the line to vouch for me. So when this phone call came through that they wanted me to play Lucille, the fact that my husband vouched for me and put a very big episode in my hands and that Angela [Kang] and Scott [Gimple] vouched for me and that The Walking Dead world as a whole celebrated it and were really, really kind and welcoming — it's definitely the most special job that I've ever done because of all of those connections. So in a career of really wonderful friendships and jobs that have come through personal relationships, this one definitely takes the cake.
Q: Negan once told Michonne that Lucille was weak and wouldn't have survived the apocalypse, but is that true? Lucille seems very tough and steely in this episode, like when she shoots the walker while hooked up to an I.V.
A: I think that by Negan admitting that, that perhaps shows a great deal of growth. He is in a lot of denial about the state of her illness during the episode and so, by acknowledging so many years after that she wouldn't have survived the apocalypse, [that] she did need more rounds of chemotherapy than he was admitting, I think that shows growth, and certainly that's part of this episode is understanding the humanity of someone who was such a big villain. And so now we can look at that admission from him in hindsight to say, "Oh man, he's been thinking about this every single day for a decade, however long it's been."
Q: That's true. She is strong in that moment and is probably a strong person overall, but she was very sick.
A: Her strength was a very important thing for me because so many times in film and in television when someone is diagnosed with an illness, whether it be cancer or something else, usually for women they then get kind of softened into these angelic, ethereal creatures. And in my life I have a number of women — some of them are still with us, some of them are no longer with us — who were tough broads. They were badasses and, when they were diagnosed, they didn't stop being outspoken or hilarious or rough-and-tumble. They just had this other obstacle that they needed to conquer, and so I loved the way Lucille was written because she wasn't written like a flower. This was a tough woman who could handle anything and really understood the gravity of her situation.
Q: How was it playing the moment when Lucille told Negan she had cancer?
A: Well, they laughed at me after the first take because I guess the way I said it — in my mind all of the things that she wanted to say of "you've been a real a--hole, you cheated on me with my best friend, you haven't been there for me throughout this entire diagnosis," all of that had to come through in three words: "I have cancer." And so when I said it, after they yelled "cut," people started laughing. They're like, "God, it's like you're saying f--k you," and I was like, "Yeah, that's what I'm saying." The intent of those words weren't to elicit sympathy; it's an accusation.
Q: What was it like getting to reanimate as a walker, which seems like the quintessential experience on The Walking Dead?
A: The guys in special effects are so cool. They're so cool! They teased me a little bit because they're like, "We've never had anyone sit in this chair who was so excited to become a walker." Usually when a member of the cast dies, there's a bittersweet element to it, but because we've always known the fate of Lucille and there was never any hope for her sticking around for extra episodes, turning into a walker was something that was very exciting for me. I was a kid in a candy store. I never get to do that kind of work and so the fact that they let me do it was exciting. And then Jeffrey didn't want to see me. He really wanted that first reaction where Negan takes the bag off Lucille's head to be genuine, so that was an experience and I had to hide from him and then he was genuinely rattled. And our poor kids, I popped into the house after I got all the makeup done to say hello before I had to go to set and our daughter was just like, "Mom, are you okay? Mom you look sick." I was like, "Yeah, just a little."
Q: And you got to be a walker on screen for quite a few minutes.
A: What was so nice is the way it was scheduled. I'm meeting most of my husband's co-workers for the first time, and so, the very first day that I filmed with him, they let me look like a normal person. It was all the stuff where Lucille comes downstairs and is screaming at him while he's playing video games, and so I think that endeared me to the crew right off the bat. They're like, "Who's this little blonde girl screaming at Jeffrey Dean?" And so we had fun that day but my last day was the walker day, so we really got to go all out and have lots of fun and then light the house on fire.
Q: Your walker scene was so poignant.
A: That's a testament to my husband's performance. Jeffrey had so much heavy lifting to do in this episode. He had to play three different characters. He had to play pre-apocalypse Negan. He had to play Leather Jacket Negan from when we first met him. And then he had to play current-day Negan. And those are three very different people. And so, in that last scene, where he takes the bag off my head and he has to process all of that, the work he puts into his job is always something that I love about him and it was really wonderful to see firsthand.
Q: How do you think Lucille would feel about Negan naming his bat after her? And also her part in putting him in that leather jacket?
A: Girlfriend would love it! That's the thing about Lucille is that, like I said, she's not a flower. I think she has a morbid sense of humor like her husband. It's probably what attracted them to one another. And she wanted him to survive. If Lucille had a dying wish, it's that Negan would survive and thrive, and he did for a very long time and I think he will again. And as his real-life wife, that's my hope. I like watching a thriving Negan. And, by the way, he's right most of the time... So, I'm Team Negan.

From @angelfuzzy2:
Can I ask what If like , rami(Freddie Mercury) gets a co-star in the bohemian Rhapsody movie right (it’s au) and the actress sings in the movie , but in real life is a pop star , and rami(and Freddie ) falls for her ( like how David Bowie sang in labyrinth, but he’s a real-life singer)
Just had a weird idea , so it’s on the set of bohemian Rhapsody right and Brian May (the person. Not actor) sees someone on set , someone he knew a long time ago , (like when Freddie was still alive) (and they lost touch after Freddie was gone ) and they just reconnect their Friendship and she’s an actress, like a really famous one also
2303 words
*A/N: I’m sorry this took so long, It was Christmas break so I was abusing my liver every other night and then it’s back to Uni and I was distracted all week but IT’S FINALLY HERE. I combined two asks from the same person but ANYWAY, I hope you enjoy. I tried not to make it too long but I also didn’t want to half-ass this.*
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Auditioning is the worst. God, I love my job but sometimes I feel like all the stress and anxiety and hot compresses to my pounding forehead just aren’t worth it. Of course, I know that’s not true. Especially in this case. This movie is supposed to be huge, a biopic of Freddie Mercury, and as if this wasn’t enough, my father used to work for Queen back in his roadie days when I was little. I doubt they’d even remember him, or me for that matter, I was just a baby after all. Regardless of that, the audition jitters are very strong today. I fidget in my seat as I wait for the auditioner before me to finish. I keep looking at the actresses faces as they come out of the room...it’s not looking too good for me.
The door opens and I look up, she doesn’t look too confident about whatever happened in that room. She catches my eyes and shakes her head, gathering her things, “can’t win em’ all.” she sighs, “good luck in there.”
I smile weakly. I feel like I could vomit, I’m so nervous. I’m the last audition of the day, casting directors are all usually very tired at the end of the day, it’s never a fun time for anyone when they’re in a mood. I hear the door open once more and looking up. A man beckons me inside.
Well, this is it. I take a breath, stand up and adjust my posture. Confidence is key in this industry. I carry myself, chin up high and a wide smile as I walk into the room. It falters as the people in the room look at me and I realize who’s faces are looking back at me.
Brian May. Roger Taylor. Two of the biggest rock stars in the world looking back at me. My confidence drains. This is going to be harder than I thought. They look down at my resume, before clearing their throats.
“ Y/F/N Y/L/N” Roger reads out loud and I see Brian’s brow furrow as I nod.
“Y/L/N,” Brian says softly, “Why does that sound so familiar? Are you very popular in this industry.” his eyes pierce mine, and although he smiles warmly at me, I can tell he means business right now. A long day of disappointing auditions, he’s tired.
I clear my throat, “Uh, I’ve done a few movies, I also have a few albums out as well.” I pause, unsure if I should continue. Brian goes to speak and I can’t help myself. Afraid that my background is not enough, I word vomit everywhere.
“You might know my father though. His name is Y/FATHERS/N, he told me he used to work for you guys back in the mid 80’s when I was a baby. So I mean technically this isn’t even our first time meeting and I wasn’t going to say anything. I was afraid this made it sound like I’m trying to use my fathers’ connection to you guys to get the job and I’m really not trying to do that. I really hope you guys don’t think that is the case. I am very professional and would never d-”
Someone finally cuts me off, “Dear, calm down, you’re fine.” Brian chuckles warmly, clearly amused at my rambling, “I do remember, your father. In fact, he was a dear friend of ours, we were very sad when he left us.”
“Of course we understood, he had his family to think of and of course he did a wonderful job, considering how lovely and talented you’ve become.” Roger cuts in.
I blush and look down, “Thank you, but please save the compliments until after the audition. I’d like to earn my spot fair and square.”
They nod, faces turning serious once more, “Alright then.” Brian says, “shall we?”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I’m nervous again.  I got the job, they gave it to me on the spot. Apparently, I’m just what they envisioned for the part, but I can’t help but feel like my father’s connection had something to do with it. I mean come on, out of all the interviews they did, there has to be another actress they liked equal to me..right?
I shake my head, pushing my own insecurities away. Now is not the time to get in my head about things. I pull into the set parking lot and look at the time. I’m early, like super early. I figure it can’t hurt to be punctual. I find my way through the large building, only getting lost a few times before I find Brian and Roger standing just offset. When Brian sees me his face lights up.
“Y/F/N, Darling!” He gives me a small hug, “How are we feeling today? Ready to get the ball rolling.”
I nod, smiling widely at him. Since the audition, he and Roger had reconnected with my family once more. It was almost like I had known him my whole life. Before I can say anything, a voice calls out to him.
“Hey Brian, I’m so sorry to bother you but I just wanted your opinion on something Freddie would’ve done real quick-” The voice stops when he realizes I’m there.
“Rami Malek,” Brian smiles, clapping him on the shoulder, “This is, “y/f/n y/l/n, she’ll be playing the female entertainer role for the Live Aid scene.”
The actor's eyes flick to me and he nods, taking my hand in his and bringing it to his lips softly, “enchanté. I actually just bought your album, like a few weeks ago.”
“Well, it’s very nice to meet you, Rami.” I can feel the blush rising high on my cheeks and I curse myself for getting so flustered so easily, I’m a professional, dammit.
“Now then, Rami lets go tough this thing out and y/n,” Brian smiles at you warmly, “They’re expecting you in hair and makeup.”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~I always told myself I was never going to be that girl. I was never going to be that actress who fell for her co-star. Although my part in the movie was shot fairly quickly, Brian kept me around to help out anyone who needed it. But spending more time on set meant spending more time with Rami, which at first was great. He’d always bring me a coffee to set in the mornings, seek me out for lunch and invite me to his trailer when we had any spare time. I found myself wanting to be around him more, more, more. He was addicting. But unfortunately, my growing crush hadn’t seemed to be returned. That was, until now?
“You want me to what?” I asked him, still choking on the coffee stuck in my windpipe.
Rami, the little shit, is holding back his laughter as he shrugs, “I want to practice this scene with you, is that so wrong?” He asks.
I shake my head, “No, but I just- are you sure? You’ve never asked me to do this before. Wouldn’t it make sense to practice this with Lucy? I mean it is her the scene is with.”
His face is twisted with a mix of amusement and hurt, “Well damn y/k, I didn’t think I was so undesirable.” He puts his hands on his hips and sticks one out, an authentic Freddie mannerism that he’s adopted, “Besides, you practice lines with Ben and Gwil all the time.”
I push at his shoulder playfully, “Shut up, you are not undesirable you fucking drama queen.” I shake my head playfully, “You just took me by surprise, c’mon let’s do this.” I snatch the script from his hand as I stand up to face him. He hesitates a second before I grab his wrist and pull him up, “come on.” I insist.
He smiles and shakes his head, “Alright.” He clears his throat and switches into character.
“Well? What do you think?” He asks in Freddie's voice, he even does a little spin for good measure. I struggle to keep my laughter in.
“I think it looks lovely,” I say softly, “Although...” I pause, taking off the scarf that I just so happen to be wearing, how convenient, and wrapping it around his neck and turning him around to face a hypothetical mirror, “much better.”
We pause for second as I play with the scarf and turn him back around to face me before I continue my lines, “I love dressing you, you have such an exotic look that you can actually pull off these styles.”
His eyes never leave me, he doesn’t have to check the script, “I’m a firm believer that a model can only look as good as the person who dresses them, my dear.” He says softly, almost bashfully, as if he’s nervous about something. “My god, Mary, you are absolutely....beautiful.” His hands grip my arms tightly, his eyes burning into my own. Before I can even think about what my next line is, his lips are on mine.
His lips are soft as they move against mine. The kiss is slow, and dare I say, passionate? When he pulls away I find myself leaning forward, following the warmth of his lips. My eyes flutter open and meet his as I let out a breath, “That wasn’t in the script.” I whisper.
He laughs softly, breath fanning out across my lips, “I know but I just...” He pauses, bringing his hand up to cup my face and softly drag his thumb across my cheekbone, “couldn’t help myself.”
I lean in to kiss him softly again, and we stay like that for a while. It could have been a minute or ten but when he finally pulls away, his eyes look determined, “I want to take you out on a date,” he says, “have dinner with me.”
I smile, “How is dinner any different than our usual lunch dates?” I tease, pulling away to see his whole face. He wiggles his eyebrows at me playfully
“You’ll see.”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Dinner is nothing like lunch.
Lunch is us piling our plates high with too much food and escaping to his trailer before anyone can ask us to sit with them. Dinner is, private, romantic and oh so very aesthetic in his London apartment. One may have thought that going on a date with someone in the Hollywood industry would mean the most expensive lobster at a 5-star restaurant with 10 courses, limos, and champagne. But Rami keeps it very simple. Simple but not at all disappointing. To be fair, he probably could have just taken me to a Subway and I would have been content. But what he had done was amazing.
First of all, he cooked. YEah. Rami Malek, cooked, for me. A wonderful meal with salad and dessert and everything. And it was, phenomenal.
“Oh my god, Rami.” I practically moaned out, “this is amazing.” I stare at him in disbelief. He shrugs,
“My mom taught us all to cook, it was a big family thing. Everyone helped out at dinner.”
I shook my head lightly, shoving another bite in my mouth, “I can’t believe you’ve been making me eat crappy set food all this time.”
Second of all,  he decorated. String lights set up so the traced the entire perimeter of the room. Candles set up on nearly every surface. Coffee tables, kitchen table, counters. He had even set the table before I even got there.
Last, but far from least, the way he looked at me all night. God. What did I do to deserve to have Rami Malek look at me like I was the only person who was relevant. Like every word I said contained the secret to saving the world. I have never felt so wanted on a first date.
After we ate and did the dishes (I insisted on helping, much to his disapproval), he brought me to the living room and we cuddled up on the couch to watch a movie. Everything felt so, easy. I didn’t feel like a first date, it felt like we had been doing this the whole time.
I’m laying with my head on his chest, his arm draped across my back, his breathing is steady but his heart is beating rapidly. I smile to myself, knowing mine is doing the exact thing. Being around him is exhilarating. And my god, if it didn’t feel so natural. I can feel his eyes on the side of my face as I watch the movie.
“You’re going to miss the best part.” I joke, not taking my eyes off the screen. He chuckles against my shoulder softly, it’s a beautiful sound.
“Sorry,” he says, softly kissing my shoulder. After a few moments of silence before he speaks again, “Can I ask you something?” I nod and he takes a second to think over what he wants to say, “Do you think it’s kind of weird how easy this feels?”
I turn my head to look at him, “I was thinking the same thing.”
It’s quiet for a moment as we both process our thoughts. My eyes scan his face, “I don’t-” I pause, unsure if I want to say this or not, “I don’t want this to be a one-time thing.”
He shakes his head and kisses me, “Me neither.” He kisses me again, “I’ve fallen for you, a lot harder than I had been expecting.” His eyes bore into mine, “Y/n, I know this is kind of crazy but...I think I love you.”
I can’t help the smile that creeps up onto my lips, I take his head in between my hands and kiss him again, god I could really get used to that, “I love you too, Rami.”

Hi Christine! I have a tiny dilemma. This is a bit long (multiple parts, I’m sorry) but it’s just hard to explain. My college is an SETC member, so my school sends a certain number every year. We had to audition back in October for the faculty and they sent those with the best auditions to the prescreen in West Virginia. I was picked to go, but the faculty wanted me to change my song. I sang the climax of "When Hope Goes" from The Spitfire Grille, which sits comfortably in my mix/belt. (1/4)
At school, I’m the token soprano, and the faculty felt that I should be singing something that shows my highest notes as soon as possible. I didn’t really like that too much, but I went along with it, since they also thought my song didn’t contrast well enough with my monologue (it’s a rather heavy subject matter) so that’s valid enough. So I was tasked with finding an upbeat soprano song. Which doesn’t exist, except for “Vanilla Ice Cream” which I know is sinfully overdone. My professor insisted that if I did it well enough it wouldn’t matter how many other girls did it, so I did it at the prescreen. I scored high enough to actually be seen at SETC in Knoxville (which I am extremely excited about). Thing is, one out of the three judges wrote “be aware of overdone material” on their score sheet. So now, even though the song got me through, I’m considering changing it again, which I am allowed to do. but I don’t know if I should. What do you think? Should I even be worried about it being overdone if it got me through? Should I get rid of the overdone song and do the less common one, and not worry about the whole “highest note” thing? It’s worth mentioning that I WAS the only legit soprano in my audition group at the prescreen, so maybe I am more “unique” with a legit piece? I don’t know. I’m lost.
This is a great question--it really showcases how there are different perspectives on what is most important in the audition room.  Personally, I don’t really agree with either side, but I lean more towards the “be aware of overdone material” folks.  To me, auditions are never about showcasing your highest note, and that’s just a personal opinion of mine.  I believe auditions are about showing a little slice of what you can do, and telling a good story.  The fact of the matter is, they see “extremes” all the time in auditions, and the uniqueness of that wears off.  When I’m behind the table, I’d always rather see a great story and something the auditioner feels represents them well rather than seeing that they can sing a high C.  Furthermore, despite what it seems, there are lots of uptempo soprano songs, I promise!  It becomes a lot easier to find things that fit when we don’t prioritize a single note, but rather, prioritize a style that we excel at.  So finding a light soprano tune that maybe just gets up to an F or G, but tells a great story and that you excel at...  If they want to hear your high C, they’ll ask!  They’re not going to assume you can’t do it because you didn’t showcase it in your piece.
Now, in terms of whether to change your piece or not...  that sort of depends on how much more time and energy you want to put into the process. If you’re feeling like you don’t want to spend several more hours scouring the library for songs at this point, then I’d say stick with what you’ve got.  But know that the work you do to find another piece will benefit you down the road as well!  But fundamentally, I don’t think any path is “wrong,” it’s just circumstantial to what you want to do with your time and energy.  If you want to keep the song because you don’t want to worry about a new piece at this point, that’s understandable. If you want to look for a new song conditionally, and if you don’t find something new, keep Vanilla Ice Cream...then that’s fine too.  There’s not really a right or wrong, but more how you feel you want to use your time if that makes sense.  I hope that helps!

Third times the charm. What can I say, I’ve never been good at journaling... Let’s see what’s happened since the last time we tried this... I got laid off and have all the free time in the world, navy DC band posting is open, oh yeah, and I got married! wow. So things are a little different. The audition was posted this week and is February 6th, two days after the Army tuba conference in DC. I had been planning on going to that along with like, hundreds of other tubists. So I’m *sure* I’m the only one who has had the thought “oh I’ll just stay an extra two days and give this a go...” I’m sure competition is going to be intense, but I bet not many of them have as much free time as I do and are getting paid to sit at home and do nothing all day. I’m banking on it anyway.
I’ve also been listening to a lot more audition prep podcasts and am taking a leaf out of an incredibly successful auditioner on some tips for out to plan out practice.
Some teachers I hope to keep in mind throughout this process... Marc.. slow practice. World class sound. Style. Andrew.. be efficient and plan. Record AND LISTEN TO IT. Have a plan. Pat.. joy. Tension is the enemy of tone. Talent is skill highly acquired. Be on the good list. Neurons that wire together fire together.
This Week’s Plan
I’m going to start off a little odd and talk about yesterday’s practice because I didn’t plan well (lol) and the zoom was dead this morning, but I recorded yesterday.      A few years ago, I desperately wanted to visit Hogwarts in Universal Studios and so I did. It made me remember a time in high school when I auditioned in Hollywood without absolutely any experience at all. What did I possibly hope to achieve? Well, to meet my dream girl Emma Watson of course. That was all I thought about. The stupid things you do for love (or rather infatuation). But boy did I think I was deeply in love. One day I woke up and thought that the only way to meet Emmw was to be an actor. And so I told my parents that I want to audition in Hollywood with absolutely no knowledge of everything. Got online and found an address in Hollywood where they held auditons. That was all I needed. My father and I hopped on the bus. We took plenty of buses going to unfamiliar Hollywood and got lost quite a few times. (Come to think of it, I realize how he was very supportive of my perfectly insane, unplanned adventure. Did my parents think I had a chance? We're crazy. But nevertheless, we went anyway.)
    When we finally found the place, we were met with a very long line of aspiring actors, every single one of them way better than me, of course. We paitently waited on what seemed an eternity. While everyone was practicing their lines, I was just daydreaming of a thousand possible scenarios on how I'd meet my love (again, I was convinced that I was in love). When my dream finally ended, reality struck me. I panicked, as I had no idea what was going to happen. I panicked even more when I saw how energetic and passionate the people are. I wanted to go home but we already waited hours; there's no turning back now. When my name was finally called, I was shaking terribly. What the f*ck was I thinking? The auditioner gave me a piece of paper and instructed me to read it with emotions. I just thought "how the absolute f*ck will I do that?" I tried reading and would stutter and freeze and ended up sounding gibberish.
     Well I didn't get the role. What a surprise. Made a complete fool of myself. Total clusterf*ck. I was, however, offered a private lesson by a celebrity and a priority audition with a higher chance of getting accepted for a role for a whopping price of $5,000. How could I possibly shell out that much? I was just a high school student and barely have $5 in my pocket and we were financially unstable. I thought of getting a part-time job but my schedule is full since I took numerous extra classes. My dreams were crushed. It felt like the longest bus ride home. Then I had a brilliant idea of joining the drama class at school as my elective. When I talked to the teacher, however, I was rejected yet again because it was already full. Just my luck. So I thought of taking it next semester. How exciting! I couldn't wait. I remember frequently practicing in front of a mirror to prepare myself until such time that I was finally convinced I was ready; ready to be an actor and be closer to meeting Hermione Granger.
    Next semester came. I went in the drama classroom to talk to the teacher. As I walked, I noticed that they were practicing for a school play and was amazed at how talented they are. That's okay because I've been practicing. We couldn't have been that far off. When I finally had the chance to talk to the teacher, I was crushed yet again. I gave up trying. Maybe it just wasn't for me. I could've done something else or kept trying but I lost hope. My dream of meeting Emma is now impossible. To this day, I occasionally think of what could've happened had I been well prepared for the audition or accepted in the drama class. I was mental but it was a memory I treasure.

biography: jeon aera
Ok, ok, ok, so here’s the deal with Jeon Aera:
She’s, like, a mess.
As in, A MESS a mess. As in, the “Let’s try snagging some tickets to Aera jangling her wrist to make sure her keychain’s on it but it’s actually a bunch of bracelets” kind of mess.
That being said, she’s a hot one.
This hot mess was born in beautiful Busan (Aera thinks everything’s beautiful, but whatever) in March 1999 and was wailing like nobody’s business because, hey, she’s gotta be the center of attention always! Never mind that the human equivalent of finally-finding-an-earring-you-thought-you-lost, Jeon Areum, was born seven whole minutes later. Probably came out of the womb very polite or something. If Aera was born screaming like she was witnessing someone try to wear a traffic cone as a stylish hat, Areum was probably the well-mannered young lady like, “Well, I think that the cone is a very flattering style on you! Here, have a cookie,” or some nonsense equivalent.
That is to say, the Jeon twins are night and day.
Regardless, Areum is the absolute light of Aera’s life and there’s nothing that can ever change that, but man, by the time they’re six it’s glaringly obvious the girls are on two different paths. Aera, specifically, has this weird obsession with her own damn face. Her smile is tongue-in-teeth and eyes permanently alight with kittenish mischief, and she’s mastered the flip-hair-and-wink trick. Not that it’s totally a bad thing; that kind of mindset makes it pretty easy to foster confidence and happiness in a sweet little girl, but also maybe a bit dangerous, and probably pretty bad parenting that her mom and dad encouraged vanity more than confidence. “Our little starlet,” they always said, ‘cause it was obvious that, as Aera got poutier and leggier, she was gonna end up somewhere Fabulous. With the capital “F” and all.
And that was exactly why they slapped Aera in a ballet studio and said the equivalent of “Go nuts!” before pretty much deciding that it’d all work out.
What they didn’t expect was Hamin to take on the mantle of family fame.
Hoooo, Hamin. If there’s One (1) person in her life she looks up to, it’s her older brother. Jeon Hamin, golden child, soccer king, oppa extraordinaire! He’s pretty much everything that a girl needs in a brother, and Aera snaps her teeth at mostly any girl who’s not good enough for him. Which is, like, everyone. So imagine her surprise when they move to Seoul for Hamin to debut in Hero, and suddenly everyone’s in love with him or whatever.
Um, how is Aera supposed to fight every girl in Korea? Who even has time for that? She has dance lessons at six, school at eight, tutoring at three, dance lessons again at five, and then beauty sleep at eight. And now she’s supposed to clear her schedule to get in a fistfight with any creepy weirdo who looks at her brother? For, like, a month after, she walks around looking like the “:/” emoji because that’s just too high of expectations from her.
You know what, though? It’s a learning experience.
‘Cause if there’s one thing she’s learned? It’s that people always look at her with a sense of awe when they realize that THE Jeon Hamin is her actual brother. Not that stupid “oppaaa~! uwu” but rather “Oppa, I will absolutely deck you if you don’t convince mom and dad to make hot and sour soup for dinner tonight.”
Also, she’s not above admitting how smug she gets when people say she’s pretty enough to be an idol herself.
In fact, like many of the other compliments Aera has received in her life, it goes straight to her head. More, even, since it’s the highest compliment one can pay to her:
You deserve attention, Jeon Aera.
“Yeah, I do,” she croons quietly to herself, vain smile in place as she waits in an audition room at the age of fourteen. And waits. And waits. And waits. She doesn’t understand; wasn’t she supposed to go sooner than this?
Finally, a man steps out: tall, scrutinizing, taking in a shaking Aera. Any confidence she’d had before is shot now, and she’s a mess, hair sticking up palms sweaty. She wipes them on her skirt and enters the audition room. She introduces herself, but the scouts don’t really… react. That’s a first.
She has a dance routine that she’s been practicing for a while now. Aside from her face and her siblings, dancing is her number one passion. So she takes a deep breath, ‘cause you’ve been training for this for years, Jeon Aera.
“Years” is over in the course of a couple beats. One of the auditioners holds up his hand like Gordon Ramsay eating an undercooked chicken and basically tells her to scram.
That night, she cries, and it’s really not pretty, so she ignores Areum and Hamin knocking on the bathroom door while she wails in the bathtub clutching pearls that she borrowed from her mom’s jewelry box for the occasion.
Drama? Yes. Healthy coping mechanisms? Lacking.
But she’s not Jeon Aera if she doesn’t bounce back for nothing. When she opens the door to her concerned siblings, her hair is immaculate, her mascara is wiped off, and her puckered smile says, “Look out, world!”
Unfortunately, the middle Jeon finds in coming months that this is a repeat experience. For all her visuals and charisma and surprisingly good energy when dancing, she, well— oh, what’s a polite way to put this?— she’s about as forgettable as a loaf of raisin bread. But at least a raisin bread’s got some pizzazz to it.
So imagine her absolute shock when her sister, Areum— sweet, quiet, unassuming angel Areum— announces that she’s been scouted at a company called Starscape.
Aera could write a book about her opinion on that news. She’d title it, “Oh, Um, Okay, That Makes NO Sense Whatsoever But That’s Fine, Areum. It’s Really Fine.” (It’s not fine.)
Don’t get her wrong. She’s proud of her sister like crazy, but frankly it’s a huge hit on her own pride to have auditioned for over sixteen companies (seventeen after she tries her hand at Worldwide tomorrow) and been solemnly rejected from every single one when her younger twin doesn’t even have to lift a finger. When Aera’s jealous, she’s mean. When she’s mean, people cry. If Areum cries, Aera becomes ten times more upset than she was before.
So she tamps down her jealousy, inhales through the nose, focuses her energy on all the good feelings, and says, “Maybe I should audition too.”
She said it originally as a joke, but hey, that’s actually a good idea. She really should do that. It would be nice to be in the same company as her sister, especially since she got rejected from the same company as her brother; the Jeon sisters are, after all, two sides to the same coin. Different in all ways, but never detachable from the other.
If you ask the now-twenty-one-year-old Aera how the hell she got into Starscape, she’d bite her lip playfully, peer at you through thick, lowered lashes, then twirl a strand of chocolate hair around a finger before flipping it over a shoulder.
“Don’t be ridiculous. They just loved my charm and talent.”
If you ask the Starscape scout who discovered her, he’d blink at you, flip through the notes on his clipboard, and say, “That Jeong Aera who debuted with Cherrysoda now? Yeah, Starscape knew they needed more girls on Pop!Stars. She’s somewhat pretty, I suppose.” Then he’d ask you to get him a coffee, because he wants to double-check his notes on who actually did end up letting Jeong Aera into the company.
Her name’s not even Jeong Aera, for God’s sake. That’s how utterly forgettable she was at the audition. But pretty? Yes, that’s one thing she’s been her whole life. Prettiness and well-meaning shallowness and a dorky grin. Oh, and the mean streak. It’s easy to forget the mean streak, considering she’s usually so nice, but then again, she’d argue that everyone’s got one.
How she actually got in?
Hard work.
It’s not really something a person would expect from Aera. When it comes to ditzy, she’s about as much as a person can get. Her parents never really pushed her for much aside from expecting her to model with that impressive height of hers. The only reason they wanted her to dance was because a dancer’s physique has always been desirable. But she has… what’s a polite way to put it…
Severe tunnel vision when it comes to achieving her goals.
You see, when Aera realized that the opportunity to live, work, and dance with Areum was too good to pass up, she spent every waking moment in the practice rooms. It was easy to give up on the other companies, but Summit specifically— no way could she let that go. She already wasn’t that good at school to begin with— studying time became dancing time. Tutoring time became singing time. Beauty sleep time stayed beauty sleep time, ‘cause the idol triple threat was very obviously vocals, dance, and visual. It’s how she came in second place on Pop!Star Survival; she’s not naturally talented, but damn if she can’t fake it.

biography: jeon aera

A studio banks on a young Aussie actor to be the face of a summer adventure movie
By Lori Reese | May 15, 2001
Source: ew
Heath Wave
''Can I get you something?'' asks Heath Ledger, star of ''A Knight's Tale'' (in theaters May 11). ''Do you want some water? A Diet Coke?'' Yes, you heard right: EW.com goes to meet the Australian actor, 22, who isn't just ONE of the selling points for the summer comedy cum Middle Ages jousting saga, he's THE selling point -- and suddenly we've stumbled into an episode of ''Twilight Zone'' scripted by Miss Manners -- or maybe the editors of TigerBeat. Expectation: big star attitude. Reality: He's the perfect host.
Even so, there may be a few benighted moviegoers who don't yet recognize Ledger's name. But by now, even these people (peasants!) have seen his face -- on billboards, TV ads, magazine covers. The actor's been on the rise ever since his attention grabbing role as Mel Gibson's rebellious son in ''The Patriot.'' The same studio, Sony/Columbia, is also behind ''Knight,'' which just happened to be in production in Prague when Ledger's ''Patriot'' hit theaters. So an ensemble story about a wannabe knight and his friends has been transformed, if the splashy poster is to be believed, into a story about a guy who ''will rock you.''
Yet his ''Knight'' costars say the actor hardly notices the furor. ''He's walking around with a $40 million plus film on his shoulders like he's been doing it all his life,'' says Paul Bettany, the English actor who plays Geoffrey Chaucer (yes, the famous one) opposite Ledger's aspiring knight who transcends class to become a champion jousting stud. ''I just have to laugh at those posters, though'' adds Bettany. ''They make him look so butch.''
Butch enough to best an box office juggernaut like ''The Mummy Returns''? Ledger doesn't seem worried -- unless it's about you being thirsty while he talks about the knight life. (Um, we'll take that glass of water, thanks.)
You've said that when you tried out for your first U.S. role, in the Fox TV series ''Roar,'' you were a wreck. Are you more confident now? No! I'm the worst auditioner, really, really bad. I mean, you're being judged and I'm just so aware of it that it consumes me. I can't relax, I'm tied in knots, so the voice is very taut and tense. You're so aware that you're acting 'cause you're sitting across from this lady with a piece of paper who's going, ''I'm. Going. To. Shoot. You. If. You. Don't. Blah, blah, blah,'' in this emotionless voice. It's foul. I hate it.
You've played a modern Petruchio in ''10 Things I Hate About You,'' a knight, a soldier. What's your role in ''The Four Feathers,'' with Wes Bentley and Kate Hudson, like -- another big adventure? Any child that would dream of being this character would be twisted. He's accused of being a coward. He's not. But society deems him one, because he hands in his resignation the night they're going off to the Sudan to fight.
Yet this is something like the fifth remake of the classic wartime coming of age story -- it's a story about courage, isn't it? It's very cool. The director, Shekhar Kapur (''Elizabeth'') is brilliant. Shakhar, shaky. Salt shaker. He's an intense man, demands a lot from you, 24 hours, seven days a week without fail for the entire shoot, total commitment. So your head is just FRIED, but it's worth it. Four months in Morocco! I didn't get a day off on the whole shoot.
You, not Mel Gibson, were on the cover of Vanity Fair when ''The Patriot'' came out. How has life been different since then? I was really slapped with the change when I went back home for two weeks. My hometown, Perth, is tiny -- 2 million people -- and it's the most isolated city in the world. So it's a big deal if you're from there and you're in this industry. It was a shock. Every move I made was written down and documented and released the next day on the front page of every f---ing paper. You kind of want to feel that if there's one place in the world that is always the same, it's your hometown or the town you grew up in. And it's gone now.
How do you deal with intrusive people? You have to find the comedy in it. People around me don't realize how funny their reactions to me are and how funny everyone else is. Last night in New York, I went out to some bar and this big dude came up to me and stands like THIS close to my face shouting, ''ARE YOU HEATH LEDGER, ARE YOU HEATH LEDGER, ARE YOU HEATH?'' over and over and over again, until I was like ''Yes!'' And then he was like, ''WERE YOU IN 'THE PATRIOT'?'' Really obnoxious. So I just turned around to him and explained, like I do all the time, ''What would you think if just a complete f---ing stranger comes right up to you and gets in your face?'' Regardless of who it is, there's no excuse. If someone's an asshole, they're an asshole. I don't tolerate it. I'm polite about it. But I don't tolerate it.
Other actors say that being a celebrity is like becoming public property. True? Exactly. It's like you're eating dinner in a restaurant and someone asks if they can take a photo with you and you explain, ''No, I'm out relaxing, I'm not working.'' And they're looking at you like, ''But... what? Aren't you just like that chair over there? I can take a photo of that chair. It's mine! It's ours!'' Whatever. I'm not really that bothered about it, I guess. I'm just talking about it because you asked.

Marvel True Believers X-Men & Spider-Man Origins (70M, 11F, 5M/F)
Marvel True Believers X-Men & Spider-Man Origins   Ladies and Gentlemen, in this Casting Call we shall be doing audio plays of 4 Classic Marvel Comic stories (and 1 recent one) namely…   X-Men Issue 1- http://marvel.wikia.com/wiki/X-Men_Vol_1_1 Giant-Size X-Men Issue 1- http://marvel.wikia.com/wiki/Giant-Size_X-Men_Vol_1_1 Amazing Fantasy Introducing Spider-Man- http://marvel.wikia.com/wiki/Amazing_Fantasy_Vol_1_15 Amazing Spider-Man Issue 1- http://marvel.wikia.com/wiki/Amazing_Spider-Man_Vol_1_1 Spidey Issue 6 Making the Grade- http://marvel.wikia.com/wiki/Spidey_Vol_1_6   I will tell you right now folks that there will be a LOT of roles in this CC however a lot of them are minor extras that would be covered by auditions. I was feeling inspired by the “True Believers” comic line from Marvel (where they re-release classic comic book stories for only a $1 each.) This may certainly seem like a lot but I can start things one at a time with X-Men and Spider-Man when the casting is finished and go from there. But in this CC you can potentially be in a Audio Play of a couple of the Beginning Stories for X-Men and Spider-Man (and as an added bonus one of the installments of the recent Spidey Comic Book series). Anyways here are the rules & guidelines... * You can record your auditions in separate lines like "(Name)_(CharacterName)_1" or do all your the audition lines in one clip like "(Name)_(CharacterName)". However please do not put in filler like introducing yourself and the like. * Impersonations are not required but feel free to pull them off if you can. * Deadline is 11/1/17 though I may extend the deadline if necessary. * I can accept lines as MP3 or WAV * Please send auditions in a zipped folder titled "(YourName)_MarvelTrueBelieversOrigins" at either [email protected] or [email protected], and when you do please put a reply here in this board saying that you did. (Oh yes and if you like you can send in a folder with 2 folders, one for the X-Men characters and one for the Spider-Man characters.) * I can't accept .RAR files so if you can't send your auditions via a Zip folder you can upload your auditions to one of these sites and send them to me either by e-mail or by a reply in this post. www.picosong.com www.box.com www.soundcloud.com * When you send your e-mail to me place the subject as "Name_MarvelTrueBelieversOrigins" * Accents are mostly optional and if you like you can send a accent version and a non-accent version for certain characters. * If you are cast I may ask you to reprise for the role again sometime in the future. * This is more of a suggestion but I do strongly recommend that if you audition that you should audition for at least more than one role. I admit I do try to keep the amount of auditioners who didn't get a role at all in any way to a minimum. So let’s just say it would help your chances.   Due to the sheer size of the amount of characters to audition for you will have to look at the auditions here at... https://docs.google.com/document/d/1cDuA...sp=sharing But still hope you all audition soon! http://dlvr.it/PjnkrZ www.voiceacting.space
