okay so i was trying to do pact book club with my roommate b4 we had a falling out (unrelated) and i have cool Pact Motorcycle Analysis from rereading chapter one. (see below)
PMT “set [their bike] on the lawn, leaning against the inside of the fence.” leaning is the key word here. why are they leaning the bike on the fence? does it not have a kickstand? most street bikes have kickstands. the only ones that don’t are for extreme motorcross, not street legal, and built solely for dirt. So it would look something like this:

worth noting that this is a KTM 300 which is really nice and PMT's bike is "...about the shittiest, smallest, cheapest bike ever, and it’s used..." so assume much smaller and shittier then this one. But also, please note: No kick stand, and especially nothing that makes it street legal (plates, headlight, taillight, signals, mirrors) Okay, so what? Well, PMT then begins "...Unlocking and lifting the seat of the motorcycle, [to] retrieve the shirt [they] had stowed away..." These hardcore enduros, and even most sport, naked, and cruisers Do Not have under seat storage, especially locking under seat storage. The only thing that does? Scooters.

Brief Side Notes here: While our protaganist is referred to as Blake in this chapter, we can assume this is world-editing fuckery, given the snip doesn't happen until 4mo later with Molly's death. Also, we do see them mention a helmet. However, they are also wearing paint covered "...jeans, the lap striped with narrow streaks in various colors." This means that either PMT doesn't wear gear (squid status confirmed) or they wear armored jeans around regularly to the point of getting paint on them from the Toronto artists/dykes.
Later on in the chapter, though, the bike has been "Tipped over in a way that had scraped it hard against the stone wall. Headlight and taillight broken." So it does have lights, and is thus street legal. In conclusion: Given the text in this chapter, we can assume the PMT/Blake's bike is either 1) a plated, street-legal converted dirtbike with no kickstand (It is mentioned as leaning against the fence twice, proving "Leaning" is a deliberate choice) and the seat thing is a continuity error. or 2) the bike is a shitty scooter with no kickstand. or 3) the kickstand AND seat are both continuity errors and blake rides an older model cruiser (my personal HC given. Everything about PMT)

See the storage saddlebags BESIDES the seat, not below. So yeah. Either the bike is a magic fiction model macguffin that doesn't exist and just does whatever it needs for narrative purposes. OR (more likely) Wildbow just doesn't know how to write bikes.

Two-time Iowa Sportsman Series Champion and four-time Knoxville Extreme Enduro race winner Darin Van Dee (my father) cruised to three of those four Knoxville wins in this exact car - a frame-damaged 1973 Chevy Chevelle that he turned into a racecar by hand around 07' or 08'. I watched my father drive this car a lot as a kid - even "spotting" for him for his 2018 win. The memories of this car and it's sounds and smells are pungent in my mind - and not just because it's drivetrain was transplanted into my 1984 Pontiac Grand Prix street car.

Jacques Bernard Ickx, better known as Jacky, was born in Brussels. He's the son of Jacques and Marie, he also has an older brother called Pascal, who was an aviator that later would also become a racing driver before his younger brother. Motorsport was part of Jacky's life since the beginning: his father Jacques was involved in racing before switching career to become a renowned motorsport journalist; thanks to that Jacky picked up the interest in racing and speed, and slowly wanted to be able to take part in the world of mototrsport. His chance came at the age of 16 years old, when he started racing, not on four, but two wheels: the young Belgian started his journey riding a Zündapp, in categories such as trial, enduro and pure speed. It turned out that he was extremely successful, especially in the 50 cc trials, winning both the Belgian and European championships. But quickly his interest turned to the world of four-wheel racing, he began in touring car racing, at the wheel of a Lotus Cortina, with which soon he gained in 1965 the national saloon car championship. The following year will turn out to be an extremely busy one for Jacky, at only 21 years old he took part in more than 50 races, like the 24 hours of Daytona, winning the 24 hours of Spa and partaking for the very first time at the 24 hours of Le Mans; that very same year he also made his first entry in Formula 1, thanks to the racing programme created by Elf and Matra to help french-speaking aspiring drivers.
At the wheel of an F2 Matra MS5-Cosworth, on the infamous circuit of the Nürburgring, Jacky took part in his unofficial first F1 race, although it would be a disappointing one: after colliding with another car, he was forced to retire from the race after only one lap. From that race on, in 1967, Jacky kept racing for Matra, both in Formula 2 and 3, to be able to gain more experience that would help him to win the F2 Championship. It's at the Italian GP that he had a proper and official Formula 1 entry: at the wheel of a Cooper-Maserati, the young Belgian performed brilliantly, finishing in 6th place. After such an impressive performance, teams started to advance their offers, but the most important one was from Franco Lini, sporting director for Scuderia Ferrari. In '68 it was announced that he would be the new Ferrari driver, joining Kiwi Chris Amon in the Italian team, becoming the youngest driver line-up at the time. In his first year in F1, Jacky managed to score his first victory at the French GP and had brilliant performances like the one at his home Grand Prix, at Spa, the one at Brands Hatch and Nürburgring, where he drove almost the entire race without his helmet visor under the heavy German rain. Yet, it came as a surprise when the Belgian driver decided to move to Brabham for the following season, but it turned out that the decision was mainly influenced by John Wyer, manager of the Wyer sports car team, whom didn't want to lose the talented driver to the Ferrari's sports car team. The season started with a series of poor results, but his performance definetely improved in each race. He stepped on the podium in France and Great Britain, he took victories in Canada and at the Nürburgring, where he also took pole position and fastest lap, scoring his first grand slam, and finished the year as runner-up for the championship. For the '70 season Jacky moved back to Ferrari, a decision he made since the '69 Italian GP; he would stay with Scuderia Ferrari for the next three season, which turned out to be not particularly significant: he still gained a few more successes but often the car would have relibility issues, leading him to the decision to leave the team halfway the season. His next move was to move to Lotus, but unfortunately he joined the British team in a very precarious situation: the performance of the car was poor, and often Jacky outperformed the uncompetitive car; once again the Belgian left halfway the '75 season. From 1976 Jacky started racing for the Wolf-Williams team, slowly heading towards the end of his F1 career, since from '77 on he would sporadically race for teams like Ensign and later for Ligier, in which he ended his career in 1979.
Despite having quite a good F1 racing career, often showing his worth and talent, Jacky actually shoned in endurance racing. He partook in endurance races like the Spa 24 hours, 6 hours of Daytona, he won twice the 12 hours of Sebring, three times the 1.000 km of Monza, but the one race in which he excelled at the most was the 24 hours of Le Mans, which he won 6 times and held the record for most wins at the French competition for 23 years.
In the early 80s he also participated in off-road races like the Paris-Dakar, which he would win in 1983 before retiring from racing.
Jacky always showed to be particularly good at racing in wet conditions, joining the list of the few rain masters. He also excelled on the extremely dangerous circuit of the Nürburgring, where 'superior driving skills could beat superior machinery'.
Despite retiring from Formula 1, Jacky has always remained involved with the sport, for example during the mid 80s he became the race director of the Monaco GP. Till to this day Jacky visits F1 paddocks regularly.

they aren't wearing helmets mostly for the aesthetic and not because they are that willing to die young (although i can totally see at least Rufus actually doing that).

We have an idea that we're going to start some sort of Frankenstein Competition in it will be to find a motorcycle that is a new design there are a couple that are pretty high up there on the list as pretty potential winners and the two came up with it this morning and I approved this idea. These electric motorcycles and dirt bikes do not do well against emitters they suck very badly and they end up going nowhere the Chinese motors are bigger you can get a 350CC and when you put it into an electric motorcycle the motorcycle weighs only a total of about £400 because you're taking all that weight off and when you put that motor in it still weighs 400 pounds that's after and a 150 pound person will go a 180 miles an hour these electric bikes are designed they're sturdy they're st bikes they're sleek and decent looking and the bike looks very normal. Another idea is to convert the electric dirt bikes and even the pedal bike dirt bike that looks like the motocross can be converted to street use with a motor and we're talking about Chinese motors in like 300CC for those and you would end up going with the enduro tire lots of times they have it on it and you just change the brake disks and put signals on and a couple other things doesn't take much and those things go 120 miles an hour with the 300CC no they go ridiculous speeds 250 miles an hour those are very very light they're like 115 lbs without the batteries and the motor and you're adding only 80 pounds so it's under 200 pounds they're extremely vast and he's thinking of making a motorcycle company that makes these and he wants it to be the recycled Motors company because it is an outstanding idea and it really is they take the motors and you boil them down and they become high performance motors in the metal you boil down and you can use for the frame by adding the old motors from things and it's kind of a hotspot but it boy does it work well and then you'll get motors from China at first and continue it after a point they won't be able to meet production and they'll have to do it over there for their company but really this is A is a really really nice idea I had an idea for the cruiser it's kind of the same thing they make a cruiser that's electric and it's very light there's one that's a zero and the bike without the batteries was around £380 it's only about 30 pounds heavier than the sport bike but it's decent looking and it is a cruiser and you would take that and put a motor in only problem is they didn't make many of those they don't make many cruisers that are electric at all they make E bikes that are cruisers. So I went back to the drawing board and I said these

About Ride Xpower: A Journey of Passion
2002–2014: From TC.P to Ride Xpower
Ride Xpower traces its roots back to 2002 when Thomas Fasching initiated the TC.P Race Days, fueled by his love for motorcycles. The company’s commitment to excellence was further solidified with a strong social media presence, diversification into race service for motorbike rallies, and entry into the Buggy Adventure Tours market. Ride Xpower’s vision extended to accompanying the Dakar Rally on tour and providing racing support.
Despite the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, Ride Xpower used the time to optimize tours and logistics. The year 2021 witnessed the initiation of Pegasus Extreme, a racing event scheduled for Greece in 2024, and the return of the tour to Israel in the Holy Land. World Buggy Tours began, covering destinations in Croatia and Romania.
2020–2024: Adapting and Thriving
As travel restrictions eased in 2022, Ride Xpower faced new challenges but emerged stronger in 2023. The Once in a Lifetime project continued with the Tour Meet Dakar, where the company accompanied the Dakar Rally with Enduro bikes, jeeps, buggies, and adventure bikes. The year 2024 brought a full tour calendar, promising adventures for every season.

I don't think gopro Enduro is any better than standard
I had to turn on my cam in 25 degree weather because a cop stopped at my car and the Enduro shut off after 7 seconds. Also, I seem to have sd card issues in the extreme cold that the Enduro battery likely.cannot overcome.
