Be kind and non-nitpicky in your constructive feedback both in class and written... it can be tempting to be harsh when you don't like something but that's not going to make you any friends. Wait actually I made a handout for this

Most of this is from Matthew Salesses' Craft in the Real World which talks about how to examine elements of writing, how to engage with intersectionality in the workshop, Critical Response Process, good stuff etc. I recommend that.

TL;DR Focus on asking questions about intention and making suggestions based on their response, not asserting prescriptive opinions on how to "fix" their piece. That's what the group chat is for. Also talk to your classmates about their writing before and after class. It's fun and you build social bonds and all that
