“The Memory Repository” by Sheryl Gwee Su Qi The Memory Repository is a mysterious unknown enclave which only the memory master has access to. Here, all the memories of every single person in the world are stored in cassettes. When a memory is recalled, the memory master brings out the cassette and sends it to the rememberer through huge connecting pipes. Sometimes, when cassettes are stored too long without being recalled, they degenerate, and are eventually eaten by the Sun-Moon. Similarly, unrecalled memories fade with time, and the past becomes a swirling, blurred mass of colours and shapes and sounds.

“Looking Mirror” by Hu Junyi

Memories is the mental recollection of the past. What makes the memory worth remembering is its value of how it has shaped the ‘You’ today. My character, Weiss, explores this sense of achievement and growth through the possession of a time-warping looking mirror, which allows her to peek into her childhood. Weiss used to be a princess whose family wants her to be a mere mannered damsel. However, Weiss found an interest in sword fighting, and, together with her faithful wolf spirit Linux, vows to use her passion and skill to defend her homeland. A few years down the road, Weiss is crowned Queen and witness the simultaneous collapse of her realm into discord. Armed with her sword and determination, Weiss stalked her life on the battlefield together with grown-up Linux to fight against evil. After emerging victorious, she is battered and broken, but never once regretted her decision to follow her dreams as a child and train against all traditions to fight. Satisfied with how far she has come, Weiss uses her mirror to peek into the past to see her young, innocent, unexperienced self, to give her a solid thumbs-up: a reassurance that the future will continue to be bright even if people say your drive is bleak.

"The greatest gift you can give someone leaving are the memories you made together." Terminal illness - an incurable disease. That itself was what defined Hisako; 14 and living in a hospice, who wishes to 'dream' when she 'sleeps'. So he befriends her, even if he never planned to before the community service trip. He spent time and took her out, and most of all gave her memories - something her parents didn't do. So she'll sleep, she'll sleep while dreaming of them and the memories. She hopes to see him, so before she sleeps, she'll tell him, "See you soon..."

But suddenly, her heart becomes cold and heavy and everything blacks out. It is okay though, because her bestfriend-cum-comrades will protect the Realm. But how did they look like? She can't remember. She is frantic as she lies dying - she can't even remember her weapon, which has been with her through everything. Her precious memories of the world have disappeared without a trace. The end is near. "Damn it" You slapped your thigh and cursed, as you realised that you haven't saved your game since two days ago. And now there is a blackout.
