Sure! :DD I don't have any references for them on hand, but these two images show their designs pretty decently.

Agent is a pretty rare case of a tall dragonfly, so he's one of the lucky few bug species who can still fly.

Victim is a very special case: a cordyceps fungus in a locust host. Cordyceps are pretty rare, and locusts are just as rare. Locusts aren't born, they are triggered. Usually from a grasshopper or cricket, after going through an extreme trauma they become locusts, but the only locusts discovered are dead. Victim is no different.

Cordyceps are also pretty weird. Most cordyceps simply take the body and woe. zombug be upon ye. However, ancient Roaches wanted to try and replicate immortality and thus began the kidnapping of other bugs and experimenting on different species and themselves with cordyceps. It IS possible for somebody to live on thanks to the fungus, as the fungus can take and hold memories rather than replacing them. Only thing is, those cases tend to be artificial due to the extremely specific requirements

That being magic and a strong body. Poison and Ice are the easiest kinds of magic to work with, and one of the few species that can physically handle the cordyceps and magic without overloading the fungus are moths.

Victim got lucky. He was Alan's first little experiment when he discovered that bugs come from little larvas and eggs and if he grows his own bug then he can have endless entertainment. Victim couldn't fight back well against Gammas or whatever other Deadlanders Alan threw at him, but Alan is observant. He knows bugs use roach crystals to heal by hitting them. So he basically impales Victim alive with a crystal and murders him lmao

Cordyceps finds Victim's body and attaches to it, and he got lucky enough to where the tiny shards of crystal stuck in his system was just enough for the fungus to hold his memories and self. So victim basically becomes the fungus.

BUT THAT IS STILL NOT GOOD. It was sheer luck and because hes not even a moth the connection is pretty unstable. In a strong bond, there would be no worry about reverting to the zombie-like state, but since his connection is so unstable it can get triggered.

On the bright side, this makes him a living magic detector. Its how he finds one of the shards of the Wasp King's crown so easily, which allows him to brainwash Chosen One. On the ugly side, you get this:

This happens after Victim tries and fails to kill Alan. He basically gets really pissed that Alan doesn't want to kill him anymore, that he isnt even trying to fight back, and starts mentally spiraling because of it. He compares himself to the other Hollows which are all sorcerers and have magic, and chalks up his failure and lack of control over the situation to that lack of magic.

So to fix that he basically ditches everyone and goes to Snakemouth Den, aka the original lab where the Roaches experiment cause goddamn that place is potent with it you can literally see it in the air. Basically goes there and something something recreating the events of trauma so you can control the outcome, smashes a shit ton of the crystals into smaller shards.

Agent brings the color gang into this (the only mercenary who knows about vics situation) because he had a feeling shit would go wrong and boy was he right. Victim drives the crystals through his exo-skeleton and

he does it. he gets poison magic. but he still gets knocked down easily so rinse and repeat of him attacking, getting beat, healing by impaling with a crystal, and so on. But yeah the more magic he siphons from the roach crystals the more it makes the fungus kinda lose it and slowly but surely the grip the fungus has on his memories and self starts slipping and the instincts from the fungus and the sentience starts getting blurred. Yeah sorry victim in your obsession and greed for control for others you lost control of yourself

Basically a boss fight at that point, feral zombie vic vs his loyal lapdog of a bug and 5 children. At first its just operating off of the instinct of getting them OUT of the territory, but he also burns through the magic really quickly which means he needs more and oh look at that cute little bee hes full of magic. Basically a stalling game of blocking off the exist and making sure he doesnt rip the crystal stuck in seconds head out.

Eventually they win and after a quick revive from Second, an unconscious victim gets carried to an inn by Agent and everyone leaves the caves that day with so much trauma yippeeee

PART III

Sam found himself in the warehouse's back area that had been altered, now a mixture of original storage on the left and prefabricated rooms to the right, with the loading dock straight ahead, where his wolf was leading him. The scent of home was strongly intermingling with blood where cursing and bodies impacting each other were echoing down the hallway, drawing Sam in.

A quick look-see around an open door revealed fluorescents bathing everything in washed-out colors: a very pretty, weeping, leashed O kneeling next to an expensively attired Alpha, passively observing two other Alphas engaged in a fight when one abruptly spun, spraying blood across the back walls not far from another lying in a pool of their blood on the floor. Enraged, the remaining Alpha redoubled their efforts to restrain a naked, blood-covered female who was, holy fuck, an O! 

Sam watches, astonished that, while tiring, the O wasn't giving up when another Alpha wielding a blackjack shoves him out of the way, bludgeoning and knocking her to the floor, repeatedly striking to ensure she stayed down grabbed her collar and dragged the dazed O towards a line of heavy-duty dog crates stuffing her in one. While blackjack hauled out the bodies, the banged-up Alpha grabbed a hose washing blood down the floor drain, then turned it on the caged O when Sam’s brother rushed in, grabbing him.

“Sammy! What the fucks the matter with you!” Dean, visibly distraught, dragged him down the hallway, flashbacks to when Sam disappeared for two weeks after turning sixteen on his watch and when their Alpha returned, his atrocious reaction. “You promised me you’d never disappear like that again!”  Right now, Dean wishes Sam was still unpresented and could discipline him when John, appearing relieved, quickly reverted to norms. “Sam, you ever do that again,” admonished his pup in a tight voice. He wasn’t expecting Sam’s I found the O response questions, “What are you talking about?” Sam pointed towards the room and exclaimed, “She killed two Alphas!” 

“Are you sure it was an O?” John sounded doubtful when the palatable taste of the blood and the scent that led Sam back here hit him, making his wolf jolt at his overloaded senses and his canines elongate. John wrestled back control to his hunter intellect when his eldest growled, bolted back down the hallway, followed by Sam on his heels, and yelled, “Dean! Sam! Get your asses back here!”  

Helms appears out of nowhere and sees Dean arguing with the suited Alpha. “Winchester, you have no right to be back here!” The suit stops arguing with Dean and turns on the Dealer. “You think you can sell me misrepresented goods, Helms?” Pointing to the cage rages, “I paid you an exorbitant price for twins. But you lied! Look at that thing!!” John peers back at the cage and sees the leashed O reaching into a wire cage, shaking the other one’s arm as Sam knelt next to her and, oh, holy shit, laid a hand on her shoulder. 

John rushed over before the suit realized the young Alpha was touching their newly acquired property. “Step away from them, Sam.” Sam reluctantly got up as John squatted down to inspect them. The caged one curled up in a fetal position is larger than her sibling, but one can still see her full, pink lips and cinnamon-freckled skin, and she smells nothing like the other. Helms thought he could pass off these O’s as twins? No wonder the suit is pissed. The O whimpers, opening her uninjured, fox-tilted eye to reveal the iris’s unusual mosaic, and upon seeing Sam, a faint ring of gold manifests, and his wolf reciprocates.

John knew only one thing could override rut suppressants snapped, “Dean, get Sam out of here this instant!”  Dean comes over, green eyes widening, and doubles-over groans out, “Sonuvabitch!”

 “Dean! I gave you an order!” 

Dean hobbled to his dazed brother, “Come on, Sammy!” They stagger for the door, using each other as a counterbalance. John returned his attention to the suit, still arguing with Helms about some contractual blah blah blah, felt a touch on his leg peers down at the O, whispering, “Alpha, please don’t let them kill her!” 

John watches the caged one reach a shaking hand through the bars, stroking the other’s arm comfortingly. She has strong protective instincts, like Dean when Sam has one of his nightmares. John’s thoughts are interrupted by the suit hollers. “Hey! What the fuck you are doing over there?” 

The suit stomps over, and John’s hackles go up, expecting an altercation. Instead, they take the O’s leash, leading her across the room to tether her to the doorknob before addressing him. “I understand you need an O to keep your son out of jail, so I’ll make you a deal. You can have that thing,” they point to the cage, “for a dollar. Save me the effort of getting rid of it.”

“You can’t make side deals in my establishment!” Helms screeched. The suit uses their status to dominate the Beta Dealer. “You lied about the product, and since I’ve signed all the contracts and a deal being a deal, as you keep pointing out, I can do whatever I want with my property.” The suit addresses John again, “Are you interested or not?” John gazes at the now unconscious caged O, then back to her twin, whose eyes plead for help.

“You have a deal.”

Once you and the reincarnated Marines got acquainted with Pandora's soil, you learned quickly that the warnings and safety briefs were big understatement to the initial experience. Even the biggest warzones back on Earth were pure picnics by comparison. And the high temperatures and unforgiving climates were the least of your worries. Natural disasters, fiercely dangerous wildlife, and flora made it hard to tread on Pandorian ground without some security measure. Ardmore called it an auto-immune response. Which, to her credit, was true. Thankfully, the tall blue humanoids were confident in their abilities, allowing you a relatively safe passage through the forests whenever you traveled with them. Strangely enough, Mansk was always the first to be at your side. The stoic and calculating member who barely shared anything but a few grunts and nods, defended you, tossing his limber body into the heat of battle as he fired his machine guns until all of the clips were empty. You, of course, had your own exo revolver drawn, aiding them wherever you could, sometimes even hitting the designated target between the eyes and sparring your members from a final death blow. Your vantage point was your size, being less noticeable than the rest. Something that had earned you a decent amount of respect, acknowledgment, and even gratitude from some you didn't think would ever regard you on equal terms. Often you would spend your time checking their health stats, or, in more frequent cases, patching up wounds and mending broken bones as fast as you could. Eventually it began to feel like an actual unit, integrating like clockwork. Action-packed, racing pulses and anxiety-inducing situations gave you a quick reality check to what you signed up for. Most of the time, you had watched the cerulean giants coming to life when they fought off dangerous wilderness by subdueing the vicious natives and even taming the mighty banshees to their will. It was truly magnificent. As time progressed, you grew accustomed to your daily routine and learned to ignore most of the headache inducing quips and comments from Wainfleet, Brown or Z-Dog. The first few days were relatively peaceful by comparison. But as soon as you delved deeper and further into the emerald sea, enraptured by the size, variety, and lush growth that Earth lacked, you couldn't help but feel a bit of you crumbling. At first, you had to take an hour to process all of this nature and wonder these lands offered before a tear or two rolled down your damp cheeks. You made sure none of your soldiers, not even Ryan, would notice you in this state of vulnerability. A certain level of professionalism and sense of tact had to be maintained. If one were to survive this job, let alone, this planet. When you had grown accustomed to your new setting, you couldn't help but extend your hand and let the pads of your fingertips lightly graze over the lush plants and foliage, the tingle electrifiyng you with emotions you had not felt before. Sensory overload on a different level would describe it quite perfectly. Nevertheless, you still felt like a bit of an outsider. And although not nearly as raunchy or disrespectful like the first time you met these jarheads, the teasing would continue. In response, you and Ryan had grown closer and mostly kept to yourselves, especially during lunch break or camp. Quaritch made sure to keep you on your toes, often punishing you for the most ridiculous things like, for example, 'not paying enough' attention to his briefings. When he would lead with you shadowing his every step, more often than not would the thick length of his tail slap you against the side of your waist or head, feeling the flexible appendage rub and tickle your sensitive flesh. And there was even a time when you had to stifle a yelp when it boldly ghosted the juncture between your legs in a featherlight press, eliciting your body to almost leap from the inappropriate contact. His ears flickered in your direction until he graced you with his full attention, one brow lifted in mild curiosity. "Is the princess a bit too caviar for the jungle, hm?" He commented with the smuggest smirk you had ever seen. Your face flushed with embarrassment and outrage. "No sir," you answered simply, not wanting to take your chances with him. His grin broadened to a sly expression comparable to that of a fox. The brush of his tail made you wonder whether or not it was just pure coincidence or deliberate. But as you saw the glint flickering in his amber gaze, you dismissed the first notion pretty quickly. "Good, then stay focused and keep up." He knew what he was doing. Bastard. .... If he weren't your superior.... You thought begrudgingly as you clenched your fists, despising how his higher position made him neigh untouchable. The urge of unholstering your weapon and shooting him in the tail had your finger twitch with anticipation, but you reserved those desires as nothing but an afterthought.

Bit of left-field question, but: I'm in the middle of a deep dive on exos and reboots, and wondered about your take on something. In earlier lore I've lost track of--iirc something involving Lakshmi-2 researching the topic, I'd be indebted if anyone had a link--suggested that reboots in exos are rare and not fully understood in the present day. I figured that jibed, since it's implied in Legacy's Lament lore that a proper reboot requires fresh Alkahest, which would be hard to come by. But now the Entelechy lorebook offhandedly mentions modern exos all having been rebooted several times since the Collapse. So I'm curious if I missed something, or there's a wire crossed in loreland, about how widely known the need for reboots are/how to go about them, or if everything post-Collapse would have just been exos hitting spontaneous boots for unknown reasons. Thanks for your time!

I couldn't find any mention of it in Legacy's Lament so if you have some specific line you're thinking of, plese share! The only thing I can think of is this:

"Clovis. You, me, and every other Exo… we deserve the life we were promised. If this portal falls, and we die, we lose that life. And if we're gone, and the Vex find some other way back, humanity is doomed. So, let's shut it down. Hell, let's swallow the damn key. But the portal stays."

Elsie explaining to Banshee (at the time Clovis-43) why they can't destroy the Glassway portal; because Exos need those Vex to live. I always read this as Elsie thinking about how if their bodies are destroyed and have to be remade, they would need Alkahest again, as well as Alkahest being needed to make brand new Exos in case they are needed to fight the Vex again. I'm not sure if it relates to resets, though a possibility exists.

But generally speaking, a reboot should not require Alkahest mostly because of what Lakshmi-2 researched; she was researching Spontaneous Exo Reset Syndrome which is a rare condition that causes an Exo to reset on their own, spontaneously. Nobody knows what causes it. Here's one of my posts about it with links to others I've made about it before.

Two cases of it had an Exo spontaneously rebooting in the middle of combat and one rebooting in the middle of a journey back home in a jumpship, so it's virtually impossible that a reset requires some special equipment and Alkahest. Otherwise, it wouldn't be possible to reset like that out of nowhere, unless there's some internal mechanism that works through Alkahest. But applying new source of Alkahest shouldn't be needed, if we go by this information.

Maybe there's a way to do reset with Alkahest and maybe that reset is better, but they can be reset without it apparently. The spontaneous reboot is not really supposed to be happening and nobody knows why it does, so Exos really shouldn't be going through that a lot (and there's only a few known cases). I think there's a difference between regular resets and spontaneous Exo reset syndrome; regular resets may occur because of some sort of trauma or memory overload or something similar, while the syndrome appears to happen completely involuntarily, uncontrolled and sometimes almost lethal as it can incapacitate the person entirely.

It's still fairly unclear how resets happen and how an Exo decides to go through them. Lakshmi theorised that Lightbearers don't need resets at all because a Ghost protects them somehow which seems to hold true. I don't think we have any specific data on civilian Exos resetting. A lot of Exos needed resets back in the Golden Age while fighting on Europa, but that probably has a lot to do with combat and stress.

Still, Ada-1 is one of the two Exos that have never reset. In her case, likely because she was made in a different way in comparison with others. She doesn't seem to experience DER at all and doesn't have to mimic basic humanisms (literally has no mouth). There's only a single mention of another Exo with no resets, here, called Mist-1. They appear to be a civilian and we know nothing else about them that isn't in this tab.

How and why random civilians would need and complete their resets is I believe unknown. But the vast majority did go through them so the CE is fine on that front. Obviously tracking down the very rare individuals who haven't reset might be difficult, on top of the possibility that someone like Mist-1 may have died since. Ada-1 is a special case who wouldn't remember the Collapse because she died during.

Our oldest boy would vibe with your sense of humor soooo well. He’s close with Chen, so he’s used to the loud, mischevious, whiny type. Your relationship would be so balanced, he’s the chill, laid back one and you’re the hyper, fun one! He’s so patient with you and never makes you feel annoying, he just loves being around you because you always make him smile with your constant silliness :) He also always makes an effort to take you seriously. He knows that just because you’re goofy doesn’t mean you don’t have real feelings and opinions!

Suho:

I feel like your personality would just make Suho want to take care of you. (Because you remind him of his son LOL) He would totally baby you when you get all whiny, taking you into his arms and shushing you. He’s always so attentive, fixing your hair and tying your shoe for you so you don’t trip. You’re his pride and joy, and he loves showing other people how funny and adorable his partner is. He’d also be very upset if anyone took advantage of your positivity. He doesn’t get angry often, but when someone messes with you he gets scary. Overall, he thinks you’re so adorable and wants to constantly watch out for you like he does with Baekhyun!

Lay:

Our angel Yixing would simply die of cuteness overload at your personality. He adores you, and is always smiling that dimpley grin at your antics. Like Suho, he’d be a little protective to make sure you don’t get yourself into any predicaments, but he really just wants to watch you shine that unfiltered passion for living. He always makes sure you know how cute you are, punching your cheeks and kissing you on the nose when you’re being yourself. He’s been promoting in China so much that he misses his boys, and you definitely help him feel less down ❤️

Chen:

You were actually one of his wife’s friends, and he had gotten to know you better when you started watching the kids for them. Being a husband, father, and working man meant he didn’t have as much time to spend with his EXO members, so he really enjoyed talking with you. It was comforting almost, to know that he could find the same positivity and humor in another friendship. His wife thought it was funny how well the two of you got along, and was happy Chen had someone to chat with at the end of the day. She also had a secret plan to hook you up with Baekhyun one day by asking both of you to watch the kids on the same night, but wanted Chen to meet you himself first. After all, he’s very protective of his boy!

Chanyeol:

He felt like he had won the lottery. (I just hit the lotto la la la la HAHA IM SO FUNNY) How had he lucked out in finding the perfect best friend AND the perfect partner? With Chen being so busy with his new family, the beagle line had been missing a member, so you, Chanyeol, and Baekhyun were the perfect trio. Although, Channie would be lying if he said he didn’t prefer his time alone with you more. He loves how affectionate you are, always cuddling up to him and showering him in kisses. You’re his dream partner, and he couldn’t be more happy to have you.

D.O:

Oh my gosh, you are so lucky this man is in love with you, or you’d get the same treatment as Baekhyun 😂 He’s so very patient, and never wants to makes you feel annoying, but sometimes he gets a little overwhelmed! However, you’re very sweet and try your best to not direct all of your energy towards him. You only tease him a little bit, and try not to be too loud indoors. The two of you are very good at having your own downtime to do your separate activities, so by the time you see each other, you can enjoy each other’s presence! He also loves that you motivate him to come out of his shell, and conversely he shows you how to chill out. I rly like your analysis of Minseok. Tbh I think Sehun is similar (I mean, he’s an Aries just like Minseok). Obviously, he would love his partner to try out the things he likes and vice versa, but wouldn’t force himself to like if he doesn’t, ya know? (Tho how he communicates this may lead to some issues). And he expects his partner to be similar in that regard.

What makes him and Min different is how they express themselves with their partner. Minseok would definitely be more vocal about his affection while Sehun wouldn’t. I think it extends further into him being the youngest in his family and in exo. Again, being quite overloaded on love and affection, makes him a bit hesitant about opening up as he’s concerned he won’t be able to match the effort his partner gives. That’s why I believe he would be the embodiment of “actions speak louder than words”. He would show how much he cares for his partner rather than say it. Obviously, he’ll say “I love you” or “thank you” every once in a while, but not often. I don’t think he’ll go overboard by spoiling his partner to death but maybe a nice gift here or there to show his appreciation.

But another aspect where they differ is spontaneity. Minseok seems like the person to plan out a date or event weeks or months in advance while Sehun would be like “hey, let’s go on a drive around Seoul?” or “let’s take a walk by the Han river” randomly at like 10:00 pm on Tuesday night where he and his s/o end up at random street bar by the end of the night.

yeah, i absolutely think they're different. minseok can talk about his feelings better than sehun can, you're right on that one. i think i've mentioned one time, that i think sehun has some trouble telling people how he feels because he was raised receiving love, so he doesn't "know" how to give it back.

sehun is also a lot more "loose" than minseok? in the sense that he doesn't take things too seriously or don't worry too much about the future as minseok does. maybe it's his age too, the way they were both raised, i don't know. but sehun can be way more easygoing than minseok.

another point: minseok seems to be a lot more stressed than sehun. not the sehun doesn't get angry or stand for what he believes is right (we all saw how he acted when that rumor that he was gonna be a father happened, how he stood up for himself and didn't take no shit from anyone), but it takes a lot more to get under sehun's skin than under minseok's.

If you don’t mind me asking, what is having DID like? Also what would you like to see in a character with DID? Lastly may I ask what is being autistic like, especially in terms of sensory processing disorders. I currently have an autism and DID headcanon for Tails and I want to write as accurately as possible. If this is too personal or uncomfortable you don’t have to answer.

I'm fine answering, I enjoy talking of my experiences a lot! Though I'll like to say something about DID is that it varies for everyone but do have similarities in all experiences.

For me, I lose track of time a lot cause I don't know the time most of the time. I alongside forget things very easily. I don't experience blackouts in memory often but I do experience a lot of grayouts which varies as well for each system. For some there's only Emotional Amnesia, No remembering the event at all, or only remembering it very tiny ways where things are in a way fuzzy or blurry.

Another thing is emotion bleeding, where in my case I tend to feel what the others at front feel. For example if one is overally hyper and energetic alongside happy I feel it as well or if one is having a breakdown or an overload, I feel it as well and get very stressed.

For systems who are autistic and have hyperfixations a lot while still in a toxic environment they often form introjects of things from that interest as often enough that is a comfort thing and can form to give a role of a protector, holder, and etc. For me, there's a LOT of STH introjects. There's way more than just those four Sonics.

I'll like to add that we're a Polyfragmented System as well, in the system there's over 100+ and our innerworld which is our co-conscious and where headmates go when not fronting, is very complex and large. We have a lot of doubles as well [Looks at the four Sonics] and fragments, fragments if you don't know are in a way not fully formed alters as they usually only have one or two traits and handle usually one or two very specific or simple tasks but they can grow over time to be a fully formed headmate.

We're often not alone in front either, there's usually a lot of co-fronting and co-conscious fronts going on with us [Many headaches]. For example, there'll be one or two protectors out during school along a task doer, such as helping with school work and etc while one headmate is the speaking voice [Which is usually me]. Sometimes I can see my body getting moved as well that isn't me moving it which I still not very normal for me to see.

Splitting for us happens in many ways as well, as some splits is getting memories transferred or others result in two or more alters that isn't what one was before the split. For us it's usually losing memories, pain, and so fourth but the other one does happen here and there.

Our sense of identity can be rough as well. Since sometimes we don't even know who's exactly in front, it'll usually always take a bit to narrow down. This also caused a lot of gender confusion and so on as well before my partner slapped me in the face about the DID information. There was times where I was even confused of our interests and such as well. It's very hard to figure things out.

Another thing is that Alters aren't always the same as the body. For example I myself is non-human. I'm a lamb, a plush like specifically. It causes some problems for me since my body isn't well, what I appear as in my exo-memories and in the innerworld. Speaking of exo-memories, some headmates have memories before they were well, formed in the system. Some memories can be similar to the trauma we faced, how we viewed their source, and etc. For me, my memories were often a very lonely and neglectful experience but at times it had amazing and beautiful things that I would long for to see again.

But that's all for my system experiences I could word in some way, now onto our autistic experiences. We're more on the high to medium support than the low support that many sees us as at 1st glance. We have very many sensory issues, especially noise and touch related alongside visual when it comes to light.

I usually love touch that contains hugs, cuddles, and so on but without warning or if you even barely touch me, I panic, I freak out. It's sudden and I at all didn't have enough time to prepare myself for touch. Though textures is a huge problem as well, I'm unable to eat most school food because of said textures, they make me feel overwhelmed and overstimulated. I'm very specific about textures I like cause of this.

Noise is also a big problem as well, I can't have very little noise or none at all and I can't have too much either. For example the no noise thing can fit when the power goes out cause everything that makes noise in the household needs a power source. Complete silence and very very stressing due to no noise. Or when there's so much noise that I can't function at all. I can't eat, take a sip of my drink, and even sometimes, I can't move my body at all until the noise stops. Sometimes in these cases my headphones helps me and gives me good noise that isn't the bad news. Though sometimes even my own headphones can overstimulate me such as when I 1st put them on with no noise playing. It panics me cause of the zero noise. Sometimes due to this I can only put my headphones on one ear.

Lastly, whenever I overstimulate I tend to shut down. No responses at all from me. I tend to curl up somewhere when this happens, I usually 1st bolt to the closest corner and curl up into a ball covering my ears and looking directly down as I panic. Most I can do during this is nod or shake my head and sometimes if I'm lucky, use my speech assistant on my tablet to speak. My friends if no one else that is fronting is unable to help often attempts to communicate to me to try and figure out how to help me such as bring items to me and so on. Though whenever a headmate that fronts is able to help me, they often try to smoothe me 1st before slowly and steadily moving the body to a safe place and try to help calm me and etc.

I hope this helps you understand these experiences better! I'm not the best at wording so if confused you can ask me once more on what confuses you!

omen is very often confused, and generally prioritizes different ways of handling it depending on the situation. there's a whole swathe of customs and social norms and references that are impenetrable to xem, and xe will just leave those as mysteries to be observed but not waded into. there's simply too many of them to bother with. if something is actively unfolding and xe doesn't understand what's going on or why it's happening, the best thing to do is sit back and observe

it's conversations that get tricky, and xe will pursue clarification to an exhausting level sometimes (yet another reason xe wouldn't do well under the vanguard. what do you mean you don't want your strike setup questioned until xe can accept all the reasoning for it). mostly xe wants to get at why something is being said to xem specifically - what is the relevance, why is this a part of the conversation. as soon as xe grasps a connection, xe backs off

Yes truly, her flights of fancy can get so fanciful they cross into the absurd, but not just for romance. Elphelt loves love, wishing deeply to experience it for herself.

She's not supposed to be able to feel love, you see, but recently she's found proof that maybe, just maybe… she can.

Despite her loopy tendencies, Elphelt can have a surprisingly grounded grasp on the world at times. She's an optimist, but she knows what it's like to go through hardships. Because of this, she never hesitates to extend a helping hand to others. Sure this might get her burned, but that's a price worth paying if it means someone else is saved!

Once upon a time, Elphelt did not exist…

… And then, one day, she did!

Valentines originate from the Backyard, a place of magic that exists behind the scenes. Created by her "mother" the Universal Will, Elphelt was imbued with a mission and released unto the world. That being said, she didn't know what the mission was, she only knew that she had to find someone and do something and that she had emotions for some reason.

Oh well! That just means that she got to live a normal life for a while. During this time, she ended up getting engaged to a death metal singer! Wow! Good for her! She was all set to be married, too, but on the day of her wedding, the partying became so intense that her programming overloaded and she realized who she was. Unfortunately, this meant she didn’t get married :(

But, she also didn’t want to follow her orders, so she next did her best to try and find Sol Badguy, but she ended up finding the wrong guy (Ky Kiske). Oh well. Said guy also happened to be the king of an entire nation so she was detained. However! She was able to correctly predict that her sister would be released and wreak havoc. That landed her in the position of having to help Sol, Ky, and the others in order to stop her. So, not wanting anyone to get hurt, she helped! After this, not all of them trusted her still (Sol) but at least she did the right thing and her sister was taken into custody.

After this, with Ramlethal (her sister) in custody, she and Sin (son of Ky, was also there to stop Ram) decided to help her have fun and feel more comfortable while in custody. Thanks to these efforts, Ram started to feel more emotions (yay!) but the fun couldn’t last…

The Conclave (the world’s government, full of bad guys) had decided to revive… Justice! (*crickets*) (please see the entirety of Guilty Gear’s backstory for why this is bad)

So, Elphelt, naturally, wanted to help them as well! She was placed as defense in order to fend off some of the attackers. All was going well, but then uh…

She kinda… had her programming reactivated? Revealing that she was actually a sleeper agent this entire time? And then, no longer feeling any of her kindness and empathy, she attacked everyone and nearly destroyed them all? And she was actually supposed to destroy all of humanity too???

Thankfully, Sol was able to stop her (and he said some really nice things too! Good job Sol). But, unfortunately, she ended up being kidnapped by her “Mother”, the Universal Will. Um… well, hopefully she’ll be okay.

Power Nullification: Elphelt is able to stop the power of her sister Ramlethal in its tracks. It’s currently unknown whether this ability would work on anyone else

Power Limit Removed: A state Elphelt enters where her fighting limiter is taken off. She becomes far stronger magically and physically, capable of being a threat to the world. Unfortunately, this also overrides her emotions and reverts her back to the cold, unfeeling programming most Valentines are known to have. Kind of a double edged sword.

I think your exos deserve a whole feast~ A full English Breakfast for Anna-2, complete with a massive stack of pancakes and waffles and bacon and a load of cake! (aka the breakfast of champions) Ash-19 should get a huge assortment of hero sandwiches, overloaded nachos, a gigantic pizza, and enough soda to flood a city block! Mist-13 on the other hand, She deserves an entire feast all to herself! a massive display that makes even the biggest thanksgiving dinners a run for their money, complete with giant turkeys and gravy and stuffing! and for anyone left hungry afterwards, there's always blueberry pie and icecream~

Back to their binging, the three exos were happily surprised by the feasts brought over to them. Anna, still unawares from the blue spot spreading across her body, happily began to dig into the feast of wonderful breakfast foods in front of her. Waffles, bacon, pancakes, and so much more were happily eaten. Just like before, her body continued to grow bigger and bigger. However, now her body began to swell on its own as well, her belly swelling out with blueberry juice, along with a soft layer of blubber around it. The rest of her body mimicked this same growth, growing fuller of thick, syrup like blueberry juice, while the constant fattening foods putting layer upon layer of fat onto her figure.

Ash, meanwhile, began to get into a more gluttonous mood, helping herself to one sandwich after another, with a handful of nachos here and there, and a slice of pizza on top of that. Add in the sugary flow of soda, and no one would be surprised at what was causing her figure to balloon out with fat. The more and more she ate, the more and more her lower half would fatten up, eventually tearing holes in her pants and exposed more of her widening hips. Even her belly began to expand out, the sweet soda filling her gut and letting it swell up more and more! By this point, her belly sounded like a carbonated blimp, as the bloated Hunter continued to help herself to more and more of the junk food and soda.

Mist on the other hand, looked over the feast in front of her and happily started to eat forkfuls of turkey and stuffing. Unlike the other two, Mist's figure likely fattened up even faster, the heavy foods leading to the Titan getting layer upon layer faster than her Hunter counterpart. Though, Mist seemed to be slowly but surely eating her way through the feast, relaxing and savoring it while only letting her gluttony lead the way every now and then. However, the Titan would quickly blush if she could as she heard her shirt tear open, feeling her belly jiggle and push out in front of her.

Back to Anna, the growing warlock let out a soft moan as she felt her body continue to grow fat and full of juice, only to turn over to the blueberry pie and ice cream with a gleeful and greedy eye. reaching over and helping herself to a slice, the Warlock blushed as she felt her body begin to swell faster, quickly starting to round out again as she ate slice after slice, not noticing her Titan friend taking the ice cream and eating it herself. Now there were two huge exos, side by side to a big, blue ball of blueberry syrup and blubber. Though, they could probably eat more if anyone offered~

My honest thoughts on new jeans and the new generation of k-pop.

First of all, those who produce newjeans are brilliant people, and those who write their music deserve special praise and attention. I have a few of my favorite tracks from this band and hum them almost every day, which is rare for me. I like the soft fresh sound of their voices. But to be honest to the end I want to say that even though they are all great dancers I sometimes feel like their performances are too focused on choreography and overloaded with it. The dancing itself is interesting and shows their style but I want to see more girls. Yes, they are beginners and very young so in my opinion sometimes overplayed with facial expressions, but the fact that they have a great future is undeniable! There will be big tours and given their vocal data they need to perform live, and with such choreography even super professional like Beyonce could not sing. They need more freedom and more live emotion on stage to see the girls they are in real life.

Now as for the new generation of K-pop. They are fresh new and for a new generation) When fanatics (not fans) start to write here and there that some new band "finished" exo or blackpink, it is not true in all senses. You may not like someone's music, but that's like writing that someone "finished" Whitney Houston or Queen just because their music is not as popular with young people today. Everyone has their own preferences and the point is how long the memory of these people and their music will live on. Only time is an indicator.

So listen to what makes you happy without looking back at others. Don't try to prove something to others and don't worry even if your favorite artists are losing ground to newcomers in the charts and in popularity. Time goes by and new favorites appear, it's the way the world is set up that people always want new things, but no one will take away from you what you really love).

New Veil log is killing me (nothing new under the sun).

Chioma: Chioma Esi, research log: Exos. Maya and I have built a working theory around the deaths of our Exo crewmates after their exposure to the Veil. According to maya, Exominds contain a combination of Vex radiolaria and something known as "Clarity." Radiolaria are alien microorganism living within a hive mind state. Or, I suppose more accurately, a community. Clarity is... Maya described it as a paracausal power derived from an alien artifact. Something BrayTech had kept secret. Something Maya... Maya thinks that the Veil and this artifact are related. That the paracausal force from the Veil overloaded their Exominds. Unraveled them. It's like taking a powerful magnet to an archaic magnetic storage device. Full erasure. But Maya... she thinks we can reverse-engineer this phenomenon. Use it to write data to a Clarity-infused object. Fabricate consciousness. Scientifically, the process seems sound, but morally... [sighs] maya keeps saying that we're past the point of morality. She said that! She's convinced that our survival hinges on mastery of the Veil. It's like SHE'S the one unraveling. I feel like I'm losing her. But every time I try and push, I feel her move a little further away. I'm-I don't know if I can lose anything else. How much more can any of us lose before there's nothing left? Osiris: Nimbus... how much do you know about the Cloud Striders' creation? The technology used? Nimbus: You don't think... Osiris: I make no assertions yet. But I worry that your neon-lit city may have darker roots than either of us knew. Nimbus: Oh.

First, more stuff about Exos. Immediately there's a problem: Maya should not know about Clarity. Clarity was a tightly kept secret that even Elsie took a long time to find out about. Clovis worked with the Ishtar Collective at some point, but most certainly wasn't on a personal and friendly terms with Maya Sundaresh and would most certainly not tell her about his most closely guarded secret. Why?

Well, there was a Maya Sundaresh at Braytech on Europa when he was working on solving the Exo billboarding problem (the problem that returns in proximity to the Veil). It was a Vex simulation Maya, not the real her. The Vex-Maya ended up being one of the sorest spots for Clovis, mostly for arguing with him all the time, disagreeing with him and annoying him in general, but especially after she viciously tortured him during his surgery. Vex-Maya was also insisting that he must show her Clarity Control. It was the only thing that she was interested in:

"I'm in these frames. I'm in your systems. I'm in your very bones, old man. Now take me to Clarity Control. Take me to the garden's seed. Take me. Take me. Take me. Take me. Take me. Take me. Take me. Take me—"

Vex-Maya continued to torment Clovis up until he finally uploaded himself. After that, we have no record of her whatsoever.

But even with all of this, at some point during or after this whole situation, Braytech collaborated with the Ishtar Collective on Soteria and the ECHO project. Clovis never would've accepted this if he was placed in any proximity to Maya Sundaresh. So I highly doubt that he would've even had the opportunity to tell her about Clarity, let alone that he would've actually told her about it. Maya was equally distrustful of Clovis as he was of her and she ended up resigning from the project with a very obvious "go fuck yourself" letter to Clovis. They absolutely despised each other. This makes it also super strange that Maya would dismiss scientific morality; that's what Clovis would do and she would never be like Clovis under normal circumstances.

When Chioma says "Something BrayTech had kept secret. Something Maya..." I believe she meant to add "Something Maya shouldn't have known about" perhaps.

So how did Maya know about Clarity? Pretty much the only connection here is the Vex-Maya, mostly because the situation presented here is heavily linked to the Vex and radiolaria. Maya Sundaresh somehow connected with the Veil when she first saw it; it showed her its own name by saying it to her in her own voice and since then, Chioma recounts, Maya has been acting strangely. This same Veil heavily negatively impacted the Exos who are made with radiolaria and Clarity and Maya insisted that the Veil and Clarity are connected too.

And Strand must be connected as well. Chioma says that a "paracausal force from the Veil" overloads the Exos and "unravels" them. We've already been told that the Neomuna founders knew that the Veil emits a paracausal force. It obviously didn't manifest for them in the same way, but they knew something was there and this is what erased the Exos. It erased their consciousness, reverting them back to the state when the radiolaria wasn't purified with Clarity.

And Maya believed that she can reverse engineer this effect. That she can use it to "fabricate consciousness."

The strangest part is Osiris' line of thinking at the end. He specifically asks Nimbus how Cloud Striders are made; which technology does it uses exactly. And after Nimbus is concerned about this line of questioning, Osiris definitely implies that he thinks that some of Maya's experiments with the Veil led to the Cloud Striders.

Intriguing, because the Cloud Striders are made by fusing highly advanced nanotechnology (which itself stems from SIVA brought on Exodus Indigo) with a human through a mysterious machine called the Sidereal. Extra intriguing to me because a while ago when I was analysing the lore we gained from the Winterbite quest, I made a very long post talking about past Cloud Striders and the Sidereal and I suggested that the Sidereal and the Cloud Striders are inherently linked to the Veil, Strand and possibly the Vex (via the Occlusion, a "loadbearing" Vex that has been living in the CloudArk since its inception). In my write-up on this, I wasn't sure about a lot of this stuff because that was just the beginning, but some of it did point me in the direction of the Cloud Striders being possibly very closely linked to the Veil. This is now very obviously directly implied. Wild.

If the Veil and its paracausal byproduct (Strand) were used to make the Cloud Striders, then we can now possibly construct a scenario where Maya's experiments with fabricating consciousness led to the advancing of the nanotechnology which is used to make the Cloud Striders. In the same way Clarity affected radiolaria, the Veil might be affecting the nanites, fabricating consciousness; giving the nanites incredibly advanced abilities, far surpassing what SIVA could do originally. This, alongside the creation of the Sidereal, led to Cloud Striders. And, curiously, possibly also to poukas.

I'm still unclear how do the Vex tie into this whole thing exactly, but they're a constant background noise when it comes to the Veil and Neomuna, as well as questions about consciousness and memory of the universe, which I also speculated about in this other long post.

My view of the situation right now is that Maya formed some sort of a strong and unique connection to the Veil, possibly tied to her previous experiments with mind-forking and consciousness displacement with the Device, as well as her research into the Vex and Vex simulations. When she came in proximity to it, she saw her own self talking back at her. We know at this point that the Veil has strange effects on consciousness and memory, as well as being able to give people glimpses into various points in time; upon connecting to the Veil, Maya was perhaps exposed to her other selves, her other consciousnesses, the simulated ones, letting her access knowledge she shouldn't have like the name of the Veil and the existence of Clarity Control.

All of Neomuna is built on the Veil somehow, and now it's heavily implied the Cloud Striders are instrinsically linked to it as well. Whatever happened after, we can definitely say that Maya continued with her experiments despite Chioma's best attempts to stop it. Eagerly waiting for more lore about Cloud Striders and the Veil, and at some point we'll most certainly also get some logs that will delve into the CloudArk. Even more exciting lore will be coming our way for weeks.
