Saw a post talking about k-pop boy(?) groups and how nobody be harmonizing on them and I wanted to reblog and comment in the tags that it depends on the group and usually older groups, from what I discovered in my near year of listening to the genre, but I stopped because
1) I'm pretty sure op legit doesn't care and that's really fair lol, and
2) even if I like typed suggestions pretty sure they, again, don't care and, therefore, won't listen to them.
THAT being said if you're looking for male k-pop groups that does harmonizing extremely well, or just wanna know if any exist in general, some of the ones I've been introduced to and enjoy are:
SHINee (y'all already know lol)
EXO
Brown Eyed Soul
If y'all are interested in female groups, I don't have much to give you since I haven't listened to too many of them. (Nothing against them, but their concepts tend to lean towards the bubble gum poppy shit and I haven't the patience to sit through ALBUMS of that shit).
The only one I can truly recommend is Red Velvet. There are other groups I love, of course, but they're the ones with the longer discography and, therefore, more examples of great harmonies.

kpop groups class 1-a listen to because i said so
here are some of my headcanons detailing what kpop groups some of the 1-a students would listen too!!
also i’m terribly sorry for the inactiveness. got diagnosed with autism and dropped out of uni (i’m so much happier now) and am going to pursue my art dreams.
masterlist
: ̗̀➛ kyoka jirou
jirou loves day6! prefers k-rock over k-pop but still knows all the best hits of each year. her expert knowledge mainly focuses on second generation groups. it’s as if she’s been spending years preparing for a pop quiz on this. other artists she likes include the rose, xdinary heroes and rolling quartz. she loves boy groups and girl groups equally.
: ̗̀➛ tenya iida
this man is a stan of snsd. tenya is a very cultured man and generally gives me second gen stan vibes. he truly believes ‘into the new world’ changed the trajectory of his life and had the biggest cultural impact of any piece of media in this century. tenya will write an essay arguing this. he also appreciates exo and shinee! hates superjunior (as he should) but hearing lucifer gets his hips shaking side to side.
: ̗̀➛ momo yaoyorozu
momo loves classical and instrumental music (her spotify wrapped is just studio ghibli soundtracks) but she can appreciate the occasional k-pop song. she loves female soloists in particular! think iu, taeyeon, chungha, ailee… she knows how to appreciate beautiful female vocals. also has a strong affinity for k-drama soundtracks. the ones with special idol features - you know what i’m talking about. slow, romantic ballads. shows jirou all her favourite ones (jirou thinks they’r kind of boring but listens just for her girlfriend).
: ̗̀➛ izuku midoriya
izuku loves bts because of the messages in their songs. he finds their story so inspiring. izuku relates to the fact that they built up their legacy from the ground up with nothing but hard work, and that they were ignored for so long. definitely listens to spring day and young forever when he is sad and just sobs (just like me fr). if you knock on his dorm and ask if he’s okay, he will squeak out a response insisting he’s fine. but you can still hear him sobbing into the pillow during the pauses before the next queued songs play. oh and izuku’s bias is namjoon because of how well spoken and intellectual he is, but he admires all members for their passion. oh and and ochako introduced him to twice!! he loves how cheerful their music is.
: ̗̀➛ ochaco uraraka
now, uraraka has devoted her life to twice. she is a diehard twice fan. but she is poor and her only album was a gift from kirishima and she treasures it. her favourite era was dance the night away and her bias is jihyo (this is so intellectual of her). carries a photocard in her phone case. class 1-a surprise ochako with tickets to see them live on one of her birthdays (they piled up all their money) and she just started floating towards the ceiling in shock. then she cried there
: ̗̀➛ mina ashido
mina is in love with ateez!! she loves to learn their dances and appreciates their high energy. also thinks they are the most beautiful men to grace this earth (this is facts). her bias is yeosang. she knows every choreo and it always looks incredible. for school festivals, mina will gather some of her classmates and force them to learn complicated dance choreo to perform in front of everyone. this year it was o.o by nmixx.
: ̗̀➛ shouto todoroki
shouto undoubtedly listens to loona and is not afraid of admitting it. it’s like the patrick bateman meme - he walks with zero emotion but hi high is blasting in his headphones. however does not know their names, or at least he cannot put name to face. but yes he knows their whole discography. bought an album once and he was shocked at how many inclusions there were (he was expecting just a cd). eventually discovers the loona universe and fan theories and for a week straight it was all shouto spoke to his friends about. they got so annoyed they blocked the word loona from their social medias temporarily so it wouldn’t set him off on a spiral.
: ̗̀➛ katsuki bakugo
hmm.. katsuki loves dreamcatcher. this man has got superior taste. i feel like katsuki would mainly listen to rock music and hip-hop. so other artists he may appreciate are dean, dpr live and epik high. but sometimes you can hear red velvet coming from his dorm and if you question him about it he will scream at you (if it plays when katsu is drunk you can even catch at a peek at him doing the choreo when he thinks no one is looking).
: ̗̀➛ eijiro kirishima
also a cultured man as kirishima is a fan of twice. he joins the girls when they had ‘girly’ sleepovers and learns the dances from them (this headcanon applies to all their ‘girls night’ sleepovers. kiri makes them so much fun). this is especially fun during award shows, where they all gather around a laptop, eyes wide and glossy as they wait for their favourite groups to hopefully be announced as winners. definitely films the dances on tiktok and also shows them to katsuki later. based on mina’s recommendation, he would probably listen to ateez too!
: ̗̀➛ denki kaminari
i sense a neverland. this man is obsessed with (g)-idle. denki has a crush on soyeon (he is me). denki cried when soojin left (i did too) but will take this to his grave. also loves stayc. he most certainly owns a few albums. he prefers girl groups over boy groups because he is a bit of a perv (sorry denki i love you!!). but also because denki believes girl groups have superior music. his most played song of all time is tell me by the wonder girls.

this is probably the most random thing but none of my friends like kpop and don't acknowledge it 💔 so i'm ranting here (the day i find irl kpop friends is the day its over for everyone) and i just wanted to tell someone :')
i'm recently getting into enhypen + seventeen and my only question is why haven't i listened to them sooner????
probably the only person in the room, but i started liking seventeen because of seungkwan since he was in the devil's plan (on netflix!) which is one of my favorite shows ever and i watched the8's antifragile cover during one of their concerts (one where i think he was injured because one of his hands were in his pockets i believe) and they became my two favorites (as of now). my first seventeen song is i believe left and right but i'm addicted to hot (sue me).
i've been a listener of enhypen since their debut but only as of late i've been starting to stan them. my favorites have to be jake, niki and heesung but it's very difficult to choose since i like all of them 😭. i even learnt the bite me choreo because it looked so fun. my first song was drunk dazed. i loved the music video so much.
another group is ateez. i've only listened to their super trending songs like bouncy/k-hot chilli peppers (is that the name? help) and crazy form but my favorite is wonderland!! it's so powerful, i get so much work done after i listen to it.
and newjeans!! since they're pretty new, i've already listened to their full discography (in a single walk home??). honestly their songs are so cute but they're so short 💔. i can't stop tapping my feet whenever i listen to attention or eta or hype boy (since i learnt the main choreo for those 😭).
le sserafim!!!!! yunjin can step on me <3 honesty all five of them could and i'd thank them :D
g-idle and twice and red velvet — hwasa! nct 127, wayV (i'm obsessed with lovetalk), kard, itzy, exo, aespa, everglow (i listen to them whenever i need to get shit done), ive and mave — i should stop.
anyways, that's that. if you read all of that, i love you 🥺💗
#expect the most random ass kpop rants from me from now on#their friendships are everything to me :(#— 🐈⬛ ! m’s.

Did a full (re)listen of TAN’s discography and while I don’t have the brain power to make one of my usual long text posts I have some notes and connections 🤓 TAN are pros at igniting nostalgia and callbacks to not only old gen K-pop but also past trends in music overall so I believe this conversation isn’t so random
First of all, the new jack swing influences and the 2000s pop vibes of My Girl? My mind immediately went to Love Me 4 Me. Would love to see TAN tap into the more sparkly sound of the pop nostalgia.
As for Louder, while in all honesty the chorus is a harder sell for me, I see what they were trying to do with the genre/rhythm switches, and it reminded me of Abducida despite the two songs being vastly different. Both have trance in their core, Louder leaning into the good old psytrance and Abducida being more down-tempo goa trance. Louder starts off quite Love Me Right-esque and dramatically builds up into the beat drop, while Abducida smoothly flips between its goa trance, dembow rhythms and hardstyle-like synths. I was trying so hard to put a finger on where I’ve previously felt the energy Louder conveyed, and this is it. Louder has the room to be executed… I wouldn’t say better but in this more deconstructed atmospheric way that would be an even more effective wink at the roots of trance music.
Heartbeat is Superhuman’s daughter. One thing about TAN is they’re gonna know who came before them. Old gen revivalist kings.
I was wondering why the gorgeous piano, pre-chorus and chorus with top-tier vocals and the stunning instrumental post-chorus felt familiar… then I remembered why TAN were called CIX’s biological sons. And remember, mentioning a song in the same breath as thee Jungle by CIX is one of the biggest compliments that could come from me.
Tarzan was one of the most surprising and impressive TAN songs to me for some reason. Firstly, shoutout to Jiseong for actually ELEVATING the tracks he raps on instead of dragging them down. Adore his flow and tone. As for the whole song… unfortunately I can’t pinpoint a single song that reminded me of it but I feel like it’s somewhere in the back of my mind. I can definitely spot the Latin/flamenco/dancehall influences, and maybe it’s some Empress Of, maybe it’s those synths that once again awaken this nostalgia in me, I can’t exactly tell but I’m all ears for whatever’s going on.
If I didn’t know about TAN and you told me they took advantage of an SM hag in-fight and hacked their hard drives to steal Last Chance from their 2010s archives, I wouldn’t bat an eyelash. It instantly reminded me of Heart Attack by EXO with its R&B and hip-hop influences, subtle autotune and ‘10s EDM synths, and somehow the group made the EXO classic even more dramatic. They just get it.
I can’t insert more than 10 audio files apparently so continuation in the reblog 🥸
#.txt#yeah Sodas please open the door for me bc I’m coming to be their new creative and A&R director

Hey :)
I like your playlists and I found lots of new songs that way. Would you mind posting your spotify wrapped? I'm curious 👀
This just... made my year??? Omg thank you???!
Ok plot twist I don't actually use spotify 😅 I must be the only person on planet earth that switched back to an iPhone so I could use my iTunes again... but yeah I don't use a streaming service, but I do have my most played for the year! I uploaded it here - its on my instagram as a highlight reel!
For people who don't / can't access gram:
Most Played Songs by Month:
January: Mob by Eve
Shockingly my only Eve song for the year?? Last year I had like 3. Fight Song by Eve, one the CSM EDs, was my second most played Eve song but wasn't quite in my January Top 10
February: Shiki no Real by Chanceデラソウル
Suuuper groovy future funk remix of Shiki no Uta, the Samurai Champloo ED and one of my all time favorite/most played songs in my life lol
March: You Know How We Do It by Ice Cube
I go through a huge Dr. Dre/Ice Cube/Snoop phase every year and I'm not embarrassed to say it lol (also yes these are color coded by seasons bc my iTunes top playlists are separated by seasons idk why and yes that I am embarrassed about)
April: When Your Ex Says He Wants You Back by LTB Remix
I have no idea what the real name of this remix is?? I know it's a remix of When Your Ex Says He Wants You Back by Surface, but idk which one. On a related note no idea how I managed to get a full version, the only one I've found online is this version at the very beginning of this big mix
May: Deep Down by Neverdull
I will never pass up a song that samples Crystal Water's Gypsy Woman, and I am also a massive fan of everything Neverdull has put out, so it was no surprise this was my most played song when I discovered it and was in the Top 10 for several months after
June: Blame Brett by The Beaches
Omg man did I get obsessed with this band after this song. Also a huge fan of their other single Me & Me.
July: Disco by Surf Curse
I don't dislike Surf Curse but I don't listen to much else from them but this song, that always ends up on my Top 10 lists during summer. idk what it is but it's such a great beachy vibe for me. I genuinely cannot go to the beach without listening to it several times
August: Slingshot by Good Kid
Good Kid is actually my top artist of the year, and I'm thrilled to see it. It's really rare that I like so many songs off of a band's discography, and I think I have every single one of theirs. Also in my Top 10 for August was Alchemist, Osmosis, Tell me You Know, and No Time to Explain from them.
September: Honey by ID Chief
My favorite kind of future funk is when the original song isn't so spliced you can barely hear it, but there's still enough remix involved to really modernize the disco.
October: North Wind by Six Lounge
Shockingly enough I didn't actually listen to Ao no Sumika - arguably 'The' J-rock song of 2023 - very much even though I like that song a lot. I think I just can't handle my own feels, and tbh, as far as J-rock for this year goes I liked this ED from MHA more? I think the hook is just a little smoother and catchier imo.
November: From the Start by Good Kid
While I also love the bossa nova vibes of the original Laufey version, this cover is soooo freaking good. It definitely has summer anime OP vibes and there's actually an AMV using the first JJK S2 opening that gives me so many feels.
December: Standing Next to You by Jungkook
Ooof ok I'll come clean here I used to love k-pop back in 2014 and kind of got sick of the genre after EXO and F(x) broke up and was never into BTS or any of the new K-pop acts. But man this song slaps. I'm obviously a disco fan and there's some major disco grooves in this song

My favorite songs from the (idol) groups that I like listening to:
Dreamcatcher — [Scream]
Ngl, I don't know the members of this group or anything about the group for that matter. However, I really like their songs. I like the vibes of their every albums.
BOL4 — [Travel]
My current favorite BOL4 song. It's part of my morning commute playlist. Lyrics-wise, [To My Youth] will always hurt and I love songs that pierces the heart.
Franchouchou — [Kaze no tsuyoi hi wa kirai ka? // Do You Hate Windy Days?]
The first anime idol group I listened to. If I had an ult anime idol group bias, it'd be Franchouchou. It's actually kinda funny that I liked a zombie idol group first among the many popular anime idol shows out there. Zombieland Saga was actually the reason why I started watching idol anime (and at someone's recommendation too I guess). If I'd have a bias in this group, it's probably gonna either be Saki or Junko.
μ's — [Yume no Tobira]
Their stage for this song was so pretty that I watched it multiple times. I listen to some Aqours songs too but I don't particularly have a fave song from them. [MY Mai✩ TONIGHT] comes to mind but the English lyrics part kinda bothers me a bit.
Saint Snow — [Believe Again]
I remember listening to this song on repeat after watching the episode it was shown in. I immediately searched for the song on YT and Spotify. I think this is actually my number 1 Love Live! song. I wish Saint Snow had more songs (*μ_μ )
Seventeen — [Ima-Even if the world ends tomorrow-]
My ult KPop group ς(* ` ˘ ´ *). I'd love to attend their concert once in my life. I especially like their Japanese songs. PFU is my favorite based on unit dynamics but VU songs are more my taste.
Day6 — [Right Through Me]
Lyrics-wise, I'd say [Zombie] is my fave but [Right Through Me] has that impact on me that I can't quite figure out. I don't know much about the group yet as I've only really listened to their songs but I wanna consider myself a fan of this group already. I really really like their discography.
EXO — [Been Through]
Their winter albums are just the best. I'm not sure which song made me search more about them but it was definitely a winter album song (either [Sing For You] or [For Life]). I was an EXO-M OT4 biased then. Watched their past variety shows (Exo's Showtime and their Happy Camp appearances) during the pandemic and got sad on my own lmao. Ngl, I wasn't a fan of their title tracks ([Growl] and [Wolf]). However, other than those, their songs are just so good. They have the best singers. I like their past songs especially as well such as [Don't Go], [Baby Don't Cry], [Thunder], etc. From their latest songs, I like [Let Me In], the whole DFTF album, and the solo songs of Kyungsoo, Suho, Chen, and Baekhyun. EXO was the first K-Pop group I got into. I'm not updated about this group anymore but I still always listen to their songs.
Stray Kids — [Social Path]
I started listening to Stray Kids' songs because of [Social Path]. It was my intro to the group's discography and it was enough to check out the many other songs of Stray Kids that I came to like.
Xdinary Heroes — [Strawberry Cake]
Same with BOL4, I don't know their members too. I don't know the faces behind the music they produce but before I knew it, one of my playlists had been full of their songs.

Whats your fav moment (or song) in your kpop dr :3
my fav song to perform in each my k-pop drs😋😋
The Boyz: i think my fav to perform is Giddy Up at least dance wise because it's super energetic. like ik the rest of tbz don't like performing it because of the concept but it's super fun to perform. i also liek to perform Thrill Ride for the same reason: it's energetic and fun. my favorite to sing is definitely Savior because like....it's Savior. it's like so good and i love to sing it. i also really really love to sing Nectar because it's just so sweet same with No Air. it's actually really hard to pick for tbz.
Cravity: my favorite song to perform dance wise is C'est La Vie. it's like actually soooo fun, and complicated. but overall it looks cool asf. my favorite song to sing would probably be Go Go. i'm a sub vocal so i don't get lots of lines, but i love to sing Go Go because it's soft and just overall very sweet sounding.
Oneus: dance wise has to be Now, because like...cmon now, it's literally so fun. it's just like the perfect amount of complex fun. i looovvvee the dance break. vocal wise i'd have to say Baila Conmigo. i think my voice fits that song really well and it's just really enjoyable to sing.
Lun8: dance wise would be Whip. i just love doing energetic songs like, cmon i love jumping around. it's literally my thing. vocal wise i'd have to say Superpower, it's just so fun and ughhhh. i love it.
Circus (own bg): dance wise would definitely have to be Blood, Sweat, & Tears (og: bts). it's just really beautiful and gorgeous in general. like it's actually so fun to dance to even if it's liek...not super energetic. i'm a rapper in this dr so my fav song to perform vocal wise would be Gods Menu (og: skz) and or Guerilla (og: ateez), because i have some FIRE parts in those songs other than just my rap.
Hyped-Up (own bg): my favorite dance would probably be Cat & Dog (og: txt). it's sooooo fun, i love energetic songs and urggghhhg. like don't play rn that song is so fun to dance to. my favorite vocal wise would be Serenade (og: bnd) or Maybe Baby (og: cravity) because they're both just super sweet sounding and i love to sing them. like i feel like they're just really good songs to sing to and everything.
6ixTEEN: dance wise my favorite one would be Very Nice (og: svt) because it's ENERGETIC AND SILLY AND FUN. i love the suspenders and everything like we fuck that uppppp. my favorite vocal is Tempo (og: exo) because like...it's Tempo. that song is literally gorgeous like i love singing it. it's so good i like cream my pants when singing it.
5th Gen Group: even tho it doesn't have a name we do have discography! my favorite dance wise is either Killin' It (og: p1h) or Work (og: ateez) like both have really similar vibes and they're so fun to dance to. my favorite vocally would have to be Jackpot (og: vanner) because it's just super fun. like ughhh, i love the chorus
anyway that's all my k-pop drs and my favs to perform from each of them. apologies for yapping a lot. it was actually really hard to pick a dance for Circus, because i never actually danced to them. i dance to like all my group's discography in this reality for visualization purposes and i never really did a Circus song. THANK YOU FOR THE ASK💗

You don’t like nct dream or do you think that all the members of nct in general (also the one from wayv) are untalented? Who would you save in the whole group? And what do you think about Superm? To me they weren’t that bad, but basically the group was formed by nct and then they putted in some old but gold generation idols.
Taemin is the reason why I listen to K-pop and I recently listened to the whole exo discography and I really love them
incredible question! i am a nct 127 stan first and foremost (sadly ride or die for them) and a wayv stan after that. when it comes to nct dream, i think they are a money-laundering scheme for sm all through the most mediocre, gp baiting music a boygroup could ever make and not in the fun one direction kind of way ten years ago.
nct has many talented members! jaehyun, doyoung, haechan, renjun and kun are fantastic to great to absolutely good vocalists. taeyong, mark, ten and yangyang are amazing dancers. yuta is a good singer and one hell of a performer. all wayv members besides winwin have musicality, can carry a tune, and know how to perform. even the weak members in 127 are fine, although johnny is way up there for the most untalented nct members. jeno, jaemin, chenle and jisung make up the talent void in nct dream. this became incredibly obvious when mark originally left the group, haechan was about to, and they became fixed members bc otherwise nct dream is more or less an untalented heap of men that should be shilling athleisure wear to people online.
superm is also sort-of an arch enemy of mine. it was obviously constructed to give taemin something to do while the shinee members were enlisted and for that it never gave him enough of a spotlight. plus forcing him (and ten) in a group with lucas should be seen as attempted career murder. they have two songs i listen to but overall i deeply don’t care for superm. power to those who enjoy their music tho!
also if you listen to taemin and exo, you are in great hands music-wise. it hardly gets better among men in sm making music. 🫶

Twst Characters x K-pop Songs Headcannon
This is a headcannon thought because of my K-pop loving ass... I went serious mode and thought about songs lyrical meaning for the songs for each character. And also did complete Dorm Themes which are mostly based on song vibes. I'd appreciate thoughts in the comments \( ̄︶ ̄*\))
▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃
Heartslabyul
Dorm Theme: Dice - NMIXX This is bc of the songs change up, when I first heard this song I thought it was strange but overtime I like this song now and I want to say that the change is both strange yet ordered like the Heartslabyul dorm and the overall aesthetic of the MV just fit.
•°. *࿐ Riddle Rosehearts: ╰┈➤ Crown - TXT
Crown was because of the meaning of the song basically being to learning to love yourself. Also when it initially came out I heard that the song was about being a depressed college student. Why did I think Riddle was a depressed college student with issues from his strict ass mother and has anger issues...
•°. *࿐ Trey Clover: ╰┈➤ Paradise - EXO
EXO have quite the discography of ballads and soft chill songs. If Trey wasn't tone deaf and could sing, I'd imagine him singing the soft chill songs. Lyrically its a song about feelings of constantly in love, I know this ain't entirely related to Trey but yeah.. Who am I kidding Trey would honestly be real embarrassed or shy to sing this type of song to anyone even his family...
•°. *࿐ Cater Diamond: ╰┈➤ Oh My! - Seventeen
I had other contenders for Cater though he was the hardest choice of the 5. I settled on Seventeen's Oh My! bc of its MV just primarily being the members in a pillow fort of sorts, I just picture Cater doing the same. Honestly though I think a different song would be better but I need suggestions...
•°. *࿐ Deuce Spade: ╰┈➤ Future Perfect (Pass the Mic) - Enhypen
Okay! So! This song is basically 'the song is about how our connection will go further in the promised future so that's why it's called Future Perfect' - Elite Daily. This relates to Deuce in a sense of wanting to change and look towards his future from his past. Also him and Ace have an Enhypen song bc of their braincell being connected...
•°. *࿐ Ace Trappola: ╰┈➤ Tamed-Dashed - Enhypen
Tamed Dashed actually 'depicts the vivid dilemma of the seven boys unable to decide which path to pursue between the paradoxical contradictions and conflict of their desire' - Elite Daily. I did not think of this meaning, I just chose an Enhypen song that sounded playful and energetic. Even though Ace is more mischievous, this still suits himself in terms of the instrumental. Honeslty Blessed-Cursed was an option but I thought Tamed-Dashed was better...
჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻
Savanaclaw
Dorm Theme: Guerrilla - ATEEZ Guerrilla is literally about taking out the government, in reference to Scar (in some way). Even though the aesthetic isn't even close to the looks of the dorm or even sound, the energy and the meaning of the song is my reason.
•°. *࿐ Leona Kingscolar: ╰┈➤ Pirate King - ATEEZ
In reference to the Halloween Event of Savanaclaw having a Pirate theme. In lyrical meaning, its from what can see and understand its about their lore throughout their albums and their 2 universes. I chose this song bc of the title but also from the intensity of the instrumental. Though I probably would change it to something else though I'm not sure yet...
•°. *࿐ Ruggie Bucchi: ╰┈➤ Dumb Litty - KARD
This is a favourite song of mine. It was either Bomb Bomb or this by Kard, but with Dumb Litty its a hard hitting song with it expressing such confidence. Forgot what kind of confidence level Ruggie has, but I just enjoy the song so sue me. I recommend listening to the song if you've never heard it!
•°. *࿐ Jack Howl: ╰┈➤ Follow - Monsta X
Follow is a song about reuniting with someone you lost. Jacka boy here is given a song that is quite an intense sound but has a heartfelt meaning. And Jack is a sweet tsundere boy! Another song would be Find You by Monsta X but its a ballad song and not the sound I want for Jack...
჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻
Octavinelle
Dorm Theme: Cry For Me - TWICE Cry for Me is from what I understand a wish of the speaker wanting their love interest to display some emotion, hence 'Cry for Me.' Honestly, something about this song just speaks to me about Octavinelle but I can't say bc yeah I also don't know...
•°. *࿐ Azul Ashengrotto: ╰┈➤ Maria - Hwasa
Now our capitalistic octopus boy has Maria, which is such an iconic song. The meaning is basically urging self-love and ignoring haters and also an expression of acceptance and confidence in one's self. I'm basically saying to him to have more confidence. Also the feeling of the song just somehow suits him personally...
•°. *࿐ Jade Leech: ╰┈➤ Light a Flame - Seventeen
Light a Flame is a jazz sexy kind of song, this just suits Jade with his soft spoken self. Also this song is underrated in my opinion. Lyrically speaking its a sensual song. I couldn't find many explanations for the lyrics and it takes too long for me to process the lyrical information...
•°. *࿐ Floyd Leech: ╰┈➤ ZOO - Taeyong, Jeno, Hendery, Yangyang, Giselle
ZOO was chosen bc of the somewhat chaotic yet organized sound and its hype ass. Also the performance is sooooooo HYPE!! There is a reason why it was trending when it came out. Additionally a rap line of NCT U ft Giselle is just amazing to me...

Scarabia
Dorm Theme: Charmer - Stray Kids This song actually gives me some kind of Arabic vibes bc of its instrumental. Also the lyrics reference snake charming, the name is quite obvious.
•°. *࿐ Kalim Al-Asim: ╰┈➤ Better than Gold - NCT Dream
From personally reading the lyrics, I've concluded that its saying how this moment of fun you experience is is better than gold and money. I think if Kalim wasn't rich, he'd just enjoy life as its given to him. And the song just sounds really cheerful like himself. I do wonder what Kalim would be like if he wasn't rich...
•°. *࿐ Jamil Viper: ╰┈➤ Venom - Stray Kids
If I remember correctly, Venom is about how they should escape the spiderweb but don't want to. Simplified the song means 'your charms trapped me in a spiderweb'. I know Jamil has nothing to do with spiders (bc he hates them and bugs) but I thought about venom through snake venom. I think in a dark manner, Jamil is trapped in a web and wants to escape but can't though through other reasons. The song sounds eerie and the MV also applies to this...

Pomefiore
Dorm Theme: Hip - Mamamoo The iconic song Hip means to value yourself and live confidently rather than caring about what others say. If this somehow doesn't say Pomefiore then IDK what else then...
•°. *࿐ Vil Scheonheit: ╰┈➤ Gasoline - Key
For starters, Key from Shinee has to be put into Pomefiore purely from his fashion and talent alone. Gasoline is 'express the overflowing confidence and aspirations that allows a person to go straight forward in an unrelenting manner, just like how gasoline spreads the fire.' - Allkpop. Not to mention the outfits Key wears in the MV I can see Vil somehow pulling off as well. The overflowing confidence just says it all for me...
•°. *࿐ Rook Hunt: ╰┈➤ Love Dive - IVE
Love Dive is about having the courage to dive into a relationship with another, with also the concept of the Greek legend of Narcissus. I don't think Rook is narcissistic at all, but its hard to explain my feeling of it suiting Rook for some reason. I need a better reason.....
•°. *࿐ Epel Felmier: ╰┈➤ Promise - ATEEZ
Promise is like promise coming from ATEEZ that they'll be there by our side and no one can take us down. Epel has an ATEEZ song that is a mixture of a ballad and a hype song even though they are mainly known for their hype beast songs. A combination of what Vil expects from Epel and what he wants to be like. Also referencing how Savanaclaw has an ATEEZ song and that's the dorm Epel wanted to be in...
჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻
Ignihyde
Dorm Theme: Black Mirror - ONEUS This song is basically about addiction to screen entertainment/your phone. I feel like I'm calling out myself and probably others by saying this...
•°. *࿐ Idia Shroud: ╰┈➤ Ballroom Extravaganza - DPR IAN
So, Ballroom Extravaganza is a song that depicts an apocalypse happening, however, ppls are just dancing and ignoring the state of the world. For Idia, the entire vibe of the song I think suits him with his anti-social personality and wanting to not socialise with others. I think other songs suit Idia but I've never seen ppls give him a DPR IAN song...
•°. *࿐ Ortho Shroud: ╰┈➤ Life Is Still Going On - NCT Dream
Ortho our little bby! He gets Life is Still Going On, this song I think is like a way to relieve your worries. I imagine this is what Ortho kind of does to Idia, he does whatever Idia wants to make him comfortable and even attending his classes for him and socialising for him. Just don't give this bby TOUCH by NCT 127, if you're a Cezennie then you know...
჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻჻
Diasomnia
Dorm Theme: Oh My God - (G)-IDLE I honestly just chose this song bc of the dark themes and imagery in the MV and the sound. In terms of meaning, I read online how Soyeon (a member) has said to interpret the song however we see fit.
•°. *࿐ Malleus Draconia: ╰┈➤ Bambi - Baekhyun
I had a dilemma for choosing between three Baekhyun songs for Malleus. But I went with Bambi bc of the meaning behind it, in Korean Bambi translates to Night Rain but can be interpreted into the Disney character which represents as fragile and cute. The entire song just fits Malleus. Pls listen to it.......
•°. *࿐ Lillia Vanrouge: ╰┈➤ Odd Eye - Dreamcatcher
Dreamcatcher themselves suit Lilia with his electric guitar loving-self. Odd Eye in particular is about the group wanting to find a utopia but can't bc it doesn't exist anymore and how the odd eye (reality) helps them realize this. It honestly sounds strange like this but oddly suits Lilia in terms of its sound. Its hard for me to explain this as I don't listen to this song often...
•°. *࿐ Silver: ╰┈➤ Dreaming - NCT Dream
This song is basically about the members connecting through dreams and facing new dreams in dreams. A lot of dreaming. The motif of dreaming and sleep together relates back to Silver with him always sleeping. Additionally, the instrumental has a certain melodic sound for its melody that plays throughout the song. I dunno why I'm mentioning it I just thought it was interesting relating it back to Silver....
•°. *࿐ Sebek Zigvolt: ╰┈➤ Thunderous - Stray Kids
Someone actually choose this song already for Sebek and I agree. Thunderous is both meaning to be as powerful as thunder against haters but also additionally utilizing their thunderous music to clap back. We already know about Sebek's loud voice, which he seems to be proud of, so reason for this chosen song! A lot of 'noise' music could suit Sebek as well for the same meaning...

we as a society don't give enough credit to soyeon's big brain
i feel like with (g)i-dle's discography, especially with their latest comebacks, it's been very obvious that they try to incorporate feminism and "girl power" in their concepts. this is so obvious in their concepts and lyrics (think nxde, tomboy, queencard, etc), but they're also using their music as a way to manipulate search algorithms in feminist manners.
with their song nxde (originally named nude until the company argued with her to change it and they settled on a compromise), soyeon had wanted to name it nxde not only because of society's hyper-sexualization of women but also because how that would change search results when anybody tries to search results for "gidle nude" or similar queries. whereas previously it would likely generate much more explicit content, it now primarily shows the group's music video and promotional contents. this intentional naming not only impacts the present search algorithm, but will last into the future as well (think exo's song baby, where even now when you search "exo baby" their songs comes up rather than articles about the married member's wife and child).
in a society where there is a rise in perverse searches and images being ai generated non-consensually, soyeon's choice to name the song nxde not only criticizes society's view of women but also helps make it more difficult for explicit images of the group to be spread online. in addition to the prevention of the group's explicit content, the title also hinders netizens from finding "idol nudes" in general and the south korean public from being access child pornography as well. while pornographic material of any sort is heavily banned in korea, there can still be ways for the content to be spread online. however, k-netz have come out to say that since (g)i-dle's name in korean 아이들 (aideul) is synonymous with the world for child, searches for illicit content is now even more difficult to access as the group's music has replaced the top searches.
soyeon and (g)i-dle are using their song to change not just the search algorithm but using the search algorithm to spread their definition of the word "nude", one that means one's bare self rather than the tainted definition that promoted the sexualization of one's body. this idea has transcended comebacks and fans often reply to criticism regarding their outfits with the song nxde, bringing its message back into conversations; and by trending nxde on different platforms, once again the algorithm can push its message to the masses.
soyeon's impact did not end with her own work, the use of the song nxde was also used by kpop fans on tiktok as the background music for their edits highlighting incidents and female idols who were criticized by netizens and the industry. kpop fans are also finding that they can post about their own experiences with non-consensual sexualization of their bodies through posting and venting through the use of this audio. since its release it's opened new conversations regarding the sexualization of idol bodies as well as the exploitation of women's bodies and allowed for these videos to trend more easily through the use of the song's audio which has been promoted by tiktok's algorithm.
while some might say that soyeon might not have anticipated these growing conversations, i'd argue otherwise, it's obvious that she wanted to start conversations and change society's perception of what is "nude" through the use of her music. with such intentional lyricism and the way she develops songs as responses to criticism faced by the group and women in general it's very unlikely that these conversations were not anticipated by soyeon, rather, it's likely one of the goals she had for the creation of this song.
anyways, stream (g)i-dle and normalize looking into the lyrics of kpop songs.

Life’s Little Comforts
Tagged by @gem2117. I'm a bit late but thank you for the tag !
Comfort movie :
Princess Mononoke
My favourite animated movie. I watched it so many times, it's always a great moment. If you haven't seen it, I can't recommend it enough.
Comfort song(s) :
I'll Leave you (The Red Sleeve OST), Miracle in December (EXO) and Parting (ONEWE and basically all of their discography).
Impossible for me to choose one so here are three songs (out off many) that always bring me comfort and that I find really soothing. If you like K-Pop and don't know ONEWE, they are amazing, go check them out !
Comfort food :
Fondue bourguinonne
A dish that I don't eat that often but I love it every time and it always brings back fond memories.
Comfort place :
I guess the house I currently live in with my family. Maybe more specifically my room.
Comfort book :
I have to admit, I don't read much but I've recently started reading Mo Xiang Tong Xiu (Grandmaster of Demonic Cultivation) after watching The Untamed and i'm loving every second of it !
Comfort TV show :
Hospital Playlist and Supernatural
I love these shows with all my heart. Hospital Playlist is the ultimate comfort show for me. All the characters are amazing, it made me laugh, it made me cry (which is very rare for me), every episode gave me some sort of warm fuzzy feeling. The best. Supernatural was a big part of my teenage years and it will always have a spot in my heart.
Comfort trope(s):
This one is difficult. I really like hiding injuries (and then being discovered), fainting in someone arm's or in front of him, sick and looked after, captivity, found family, bromance,... Honestly I have a lot

[NEWS] EXO’s Best Tracks of 2022
"Clash Music: The 20 Best K-Pop B-Sides From 2022
Chen - I Don’t Even Mind
EXO’s Chen is truly the gift that keeps on giving. In his latest release, ‘Last Scene’, the calming singer further explores the ballad genre he’s become synonymous with in recent years. While other B-sides from the EP touch on the orchestral elements of a ballad, ‘I Don’t Even Mind’ differentiates itself by taking the neo-R&B route instead—a first in Chen’s discography. The soft plucks of the added guitar go hand-in-hand with the warmth and comfort illuminating the singer’s voice, like a star touching down on Earth. Even its lyrics, also written by Chen, are breathtakingly beautiful as he navigates love while practicing patience and consideration toward the other person’s feelings for him.
It also doesn’t hurt that seeing Chen perform ‘I Don’t Even Mind’ in the rain sealed the deal as one of his most astonishing ballads yet.
Suho - Decanting
It’s borderline alarming how each EXO member can encapsulate their chosen styles in one album, let alone two. In Suho’s sophomore EP, ‘Grey Suit’, the fearless leader takes listeners on another ride through his unique take on the modern rock genre for a K-pop audience. With different variations of soft rock emanating from the six tracks, ‘Decanting’ delivered on a sensual level that was somewhat surprising but welcomed. With a touch of neo-soul, the track is effortlessly soothing, allowing the listener to melt away as Suho murmurs sweet nothings—lust dripping from every syllable.
Teen Vogue: The 79 Best K-Pop Songs of 2022
Suho, "Hurdle"
How would you define Suho? The upstanding, chiseled leader of EXO. Lover of Dad jokes and ballads. Secret goofball and bonafide gentleman. We first witnessed a deviation through EXO’s 2019 banger “Obsession” when Suho emerged as his “X-EXO” alter-ego (the group’s baddie counterparts). Glitter, sexy smirk, red hair waxed into horns, with a cropped bolero revealing ripped abs, it was a seismic shift felt across K-pop. Three years later, after returning from his mandatory military enlistment, he’s given us something to howl at again. Grey Suit, his sophomore EP released in April, was a minxy, sultry, multigenre album, and off it, the anthemic “Hurdle” was a revelation. An unexpected swerve from Suho, who ricocheted between a tight falsetto and honeyed baritone effortlessly over distorted guitars, the song was arguably his take on ‘90s Brit-pop — think Pulp or Suede, but brighter, more funkadelic, and less slurry. It was an ambitious foray that paid off, leaving us echoing Suho’s opening lines, “Oh, what’s your secret formula?”
Genius Korea: 25 Best K-Pop Music Videos of 2022
15. “Grey Suit” – Suho
In a closet full of grey suits, the music video for SUHO’s 2022 title track was one of the most symbolic videos of the year. The music video tells the story from two perspectives, his ‘grey outward life’ and the ‘colorful artist life’ that’s hidden within. Clothes are our way of showing our colors, personalities, and mood. A grey suit, therefore, symbolizes an empty palette. The music video also used still frames which symbolize how his life and career came to a pause upon his enlistment, something he needs to restart now. At the end of the music video, we see him break out of the closet into the parking lot, symbolizing that he has finally found his color again.
Genius Korea: 25 Best OSTs of 2022
9. “Bite” – D.O.
Another moment where the drama’s actor is also a talented singer occurred in the legal drama Bad Prosecutor with D.O. of EXO. The vocalist performed the third OST for the show, “Bite”, a song about the animalistic hunger of his character for justice. The song’s emotions were amplified by D.O.’s acting on screen as listeners could picture his character in their minds. Like his character, D.O. armed “Bite” with badass energy and grit."

Except for a few songs here and there on each album/EP, most of exo's discography are full of meh songs. Most title tracks are good (def excluding wolf and mama), but most of their b-sides aren't that great
WHAT DID U SAY??? SORRY I CANT HEAR U OVER THIS MASTERPIECE
