Hey! I'm Gilly and I'm a spot artist for the Main Zine! I have participated in other zines before, but this is the first one after a break, and I'm exiced to see the final result! I cannot pinpoint exactly when I the DCA wormed into my brain and settled in as my new hyperfixation, but I remember around September scrolling mindlessly through Tumblr and seeing some fanart and thinking "uh, neat", and the next thing I knew is I was drawing fanart. I am so happy to have the opportunity of participating on this zine, everybody is so nice and I am so glad to be part of this fandom ^^

If it is, it has taken too long. At first I thought that, but honestly, after seeing that the shit car can't even turn in the curves and loses power whenever feels like it... I don't think even Horner planned for it to be this fucked up.

Like I said before, the RB20 is a capricious bitch and acts up in unexpected ways. I don't think this is what RBR had in mind when they asked them to slow down the upgrades (if that's true, those are as always, rumors).

Maybe I'm delusional, but I still hope for a 1-2 tomorrow for our boys, change the narrative and give a big FU to RBR.

That’s a really good meta son the Sansa sister comment thank you 😭 I was the original anon there. You explain it so well and it makes so much sense like that because that really is how Sansa contextualizes her grief. The thought of Sansa grieving and wishing she’d been closer to Arya is very tender. Generally I wouldn’t have even called it an example of Sansa being “cruel” because like. It’s a thought. Not an action or something she said. Like people love to cite her wishing to slap SR and say it’s cruel but like she didn’t even say that. She thought it. She’s a kid being forced to play mother to a very demanding child. Of course she’s going to feel frustrated sometimes. I also do think many fans go with the least sympathetic interpretations of Sansa and Arya’s relationship. Like the staunch refusal to acknowledge that Arya remembering knowing a girl who loved lemon cakes was her thinking of Sansa. Arya fans insist she was thinking about herself but she doesn’t refer to herself as someone she knew. It seems painfully obvious to me I don’t get how people misinterpret that unless it’s on purpose. But anyway rock chewing anon I get your frustration I do but I got exactly the analysis I needed to understand the passage plus it was never meant to be like. “This is an example of Sansa being cruel” more just like. This seemed out of character because I do NOT think about her like that

yes i fully agree that just bc you think something uncharitable doesn’t mean you’re ~bad~ especially if you don’t say it out loud. we all think real shitty stuff from time to time, especially when we’re already upset, what matters is how you react to the situation. And like you said re: sweetrobin - she doesn’t slap him! she’s not even mean to him and in fact when he’s terrified as they’re going down the mountain, she makes him feel better by building up his confidence and letting him hold into her instead of telling him to man up or something similar. Sansa can be incredibly bitchy in her thoughts but she's always very aware of what she says out loud and how it will affect the people around her; she's a grump like any 13 year old lmao, but she's a conscientious one! I find it sweet of her that even when she's sitting there thinking "damn this kid is so fucking annoying" she's always aware that just saying that is cruel.

and YEAH i absolutely agree that a lot of fans will look at their interactions and just take the absolute most uncharitable read of whatever Sansa is doing re: Arya and completely exice Arya's love for Sansa from her thoughts. And it's just crazy to me because imo the only other person Arya longs to see more than Sansa is Jon and that's her absolute best friend. For both girls, I think their grief over each other is just so obviously present; they were so different, always missing what the other really means, never able to truly understand each other, and now it's just too late (or so they think) to ever make it up each other. I think Arya longs just as desperately as Sansa to meet again and attempt a more meaningful understanding of each other, I really think for both of them, that's one of their top hopes! Return home, see the sister they never understood but spent the most time with, and love her again no matter how weird she may be. When you cut that out of both of their stories, I think it really weakens their arcs and weakens the longing to go home. Their grief isn't just about the family members they had perfect relationships with; it's also about the fact that they could have one day had a better relationship and now it will never happen.

and yeah lmao that's why i wasn't trying to drag you too much with rock chewing anon, i do get the frustration people have with how much people just refuse to understand what Sansa is going through and how her thought process works, but she is admittedly kind of a hard character to dig into because of how internal she is as a character. but that's why we analyze and pick them apart to understand them better!

UM EXCUSE ME WHAT WAS YESTERDAYS UPDATE!

Ok. ok ok. So inside the original Colonel Sassacres book Nanna wrote John a letter full of even more implications than what happened with Mom and the Jasper bunker. In this letter, Nanna states the book has some sort of journey that ended on her date of death. Potentially afterwards if Dad wished it. Firstly, I guess its not entirely strange for her to assume she would die before John came of age depending on her own health and age. But the way its framed leads me to believe their is some sort of, I dont know, cycle? predetermined fate? something! that Nanna was aware Needed to come to pass. And Dad knew at least some of it. Is that why hes so obsessed with meteor sightings? What does he know? What did Nanna tell him? Is that why hes unbothered by the existance of Imps?

Moving on to the real crux of it all.

"There will come a day when you will be thrust into another world ... a realm of Warring Royalty in a Timeless Expanse."

What sort of prophetic BS?! Has she been to Skaia/The Incipisphere? Did she hack into SkaiaNet or something?? How did she know! You are already dead (let alone fictional) otherwise I would shake you down for more context! But thats for later.

In closing, Nanna goes cryptic again and I am scrutinising every word. She feels as though she and John have already met and Will meet once more, again playing into my cycle theory.

Theres just so much going on here and I am full of exicement and frustration and I have so many questions!!! *exhale* Im gonna just go over some of the things she has underlined in the third paragraph. Get ready for dictionary time!

Agents: a person who acts on behalf of another or takes an active role to produce a specified effect. Most likely to be, seeing as this is a game of chess, the minor pieces (bishops, rooks, knights) that we have yet to see.

Exiles: person in forced or voluntary absence from ones own home/country. So far consists of Wandering Vagabond and Peregrine Mendicant considering their current location is future Earth and their names.

Consorts: significant person, typically spouse, to a reigning monarch. Surprise, surprise. Looks like queen pieces will be very important to the story though I wont discount kings getting in on the action.

Kernelsprites: entities that affect the Medium upon entry after prototyping that act as sudo NPC guides. Weve met them, sort of, but this implies a far greater significance than has been shown so far.

These first four, all in the same sentence, seem like they are going to play some major roles in the story and how it unfolds.

Underlings: a person lower in status or rank. Pawns or I guess in this case Imps. Described as toiling.

Denizens: inhabitant or occupant of a particular place. Does this imply beings outside of the chess game? Are there any on the planet below John? Described as slumbering (or are they awake now that John has arrived?)

These two are also in the same sentence and while are seen probably wont go too far beyond whatever their defined roles are.

These next four are 1. a doozy, 2. probably going to describe our four friends, John, Rose, Dave and GG.

Heir of Breath: (inheritor of life tasked with its continuance)

Heir- inheritor of a legacy with the expectation of continuance

Breath- that which enters and exits the lungs, life

Seer of Light: (able to see beyond the visible path)

Seer- one that sees, predictor of events/developement sometimes by means of divination

Light- (god theres so many) visible spectrum, device to start flame, understanding of a problem (as in enlightenment)

Knight of Time: (servant to the progress of existence)

Knight- mounted man-at-arms serving a feudal superior

Time- indefinite progress of existence/events in the past, present, and future as a whole

Witch of Space: (able to manipulate the expanse of space and its demensions)

Witch- a person normally associated with evil supernatural power

Space- a continuous expanse which is unoccupied, the demensions within all things live and move

There is a ton of speculations you can make with these definitions alone but whos to say Hussie will follow expectations. I added my own theories next to each title and Id love to read any others.

Ascend: to go up, climb

Probably the most clear definition as we've seen it in action with John and the eccheladder. However, it feels too simple of a process for how convoluted Skaia has been. Theres gotta be something else we are missing here.

Anyway, I hope you enjoyed dictionary time. Im gonna go ruminate on this some more while we wait for more updates.

udah langganan tiap tahun masuk kerja, tapi klo dipikir2 memang lebih baik kerja dan selalu riquest kerja aja. terlalu sedih buat aku merayakannya. apalagi tanpa mamah. buat apa ? semua vibes kebahagian lebaran dari jaman dulu adalah ketika mamah pemeran utamanya, yg sibuk masak, yg sibuk bikin kueh sampe wangiiii dan boleh nyicip yg gosong2 nya dulu 😆, yang sibuk beli baju lebaran, yg sibuk nyocokin baju sama kerudung, yg exiced pake mukena terbaiknya pas hari raya, yg selalu begadang buat masak ketupat dan bistiq, dan makanan yg mamah buat enak pwollll , yang selalu dan selalu riweuh . justru kalo udh gaada sangat sangat rindu dengan keriweuhan mamahhh,

udh mau ke 6 kalinya gaada mamah, selalu dan selalu jiwa ada yg kurang, yups betul kehilangan itu berat apalagi mamah.

I genially wish people shut down when I was at my lw. I wish they just ignored it like they ignore everything else when it comes to me and my problems. They are so, so, so stupid! I can't continue let them have an influence on me when they know nothing about how emotions function. Especially my emotions and feelings and psychological state. I wish I can go back to being 17 and ano#exic. Or at least go back 6 months ago when i lost some weight and everyone was worried again BECAUSE I WAS SKINNIER! They put so much pressure on me when I lose couple kgs and then I get scared, gain it back and go back into other mental issues that I cannot resolve. And then they leave, again. They don't ask me ever how am I doing once i gain back. I hate people! I didn't deserve this. I don't deserve any of stuff that is happening.
