"Magnus! Shield!" Alex shouted, kicking away the body of the telekhine she'd just decapitated.

Magnus jumped away from his own fight, leaving the rest to Annabeth. The rune dangling from the leather braided bracelet on his right wrist began to glow. A shield sprang to life from it, shimmering gold and semi-transparent. Magnus dropped to one knee, holding the shield at an angle as Alex ran towards him.

She jumped, landing on the shield with practiced precision. As soon as her feet connected with the shield, Magnus thrust his arm upward, using his strength to toss her skyward.

Alex vaulted towards the stalkling, landing on it's back. It screeched unhappily and thrashed in the sky, trying to shake her off. Alex held on tight, looping her garrote wire around it's neck. With a snap she pulled the wire taught and the stalkling's head popped clean off. As it fell towards the ground, Alex vaulted off it's body, rolling on instinct and popping up unscathed.

She looked over at Magnus with a grin. "That was fun!"

Magnus couldn't help his smile as he swung his sword, taking off a ground troll's right arm. "I love you, you little maniac!"

Annabeth stared at her cousin for a moment. She glanced at Percy. "I'm concerned."

Percy grinned at her, smacking Riptide's hilt into a wolf's nose. "Hey, let them do their battle couple thing. It's adorable."
