watching ex wow players joyfully and even sometimes emotionally make their way thru ffxiv genuinely makes me feel so happy for them*
#misc#*ffxiv isnt without its massive faults but comparing wow retail and classic to the current state of ffxiv it's very night and day to the#vast majority of people#i was so fucking disillusioned with wow retail and logging on twice a week to raid and then force myself to do varying chores in BFA and#shadowlands made me feel like a fucking insane person i felt like i was losing it#despite rolling on the most degenerate server in the entire NA region it still wasnt enough to keep my attention#anyways i didnt play nearly as long or had nearly as deep of an attachment to the game as these other people and watching them get really#excited over game mechanics theyve wanted to see in wow for so long take place in another mmorpg makes me feel happy to see their excitement#i also cant personally speak on wow classic because I Didnt Play It but considering TBC's rampant bot problem and everyone getting bored of#speedrunning 13-15 year old raids i imagine that it's not doing well. not even a little#then blizzard was like what if we just released classic. Again. and then that fucking died because nobody wants to do that shit#plus varying pay to win fiascos. etc .#i actually tried to scheme with the silver and gold chocobo feathers i had gotten from like subbing or doing something im not too sure but i#bought pots of expensive dye then tried to resell on the MB i was surprised to find that i actually couldnt sell it and at first i was like#damn but then i realized that it actually kept the intregity of the game to not have scummy features like that and i was like alright#squenix. that's fair#now there is p2w in the form of level boosting and etc which i personally disagree with but ive already written my essay in the tags so
