─── ⋆ SO THIS WAS WHAT IT FELT LIKE . . . to have warm brown doe eyes staring back at her. Clara wavered. Her plans began buckling under Freya's persuasion. She took her hands off the buttons of the console, always blinking like stars. Maybe it was time to stay in one place long enough to take in the actual stars and more.

"Perhaps," she responded with a smile. "I'm not used to it, you know. It's like when you're young and your mum teaches you how to fold clothes one way. Then it becomes the only way you know how. You follow her lead, repeat it, live it. But then you learn there's another way to fold clothes. A million ways actually. None are wrong but you try to find what works for you." She exhaled slowly and shook her head at the vulnerability Freya invoked somehow.

"That's what traveling with The Doctor was like. Always going and leaving. It makes STAYING a bit foreign."
