Maine to California in ten days. In which Zayn’s an open-shirt hippie they meet somewhere in Ohio, Liam’s the pastor’s son running away from home, and Niall’s the number they call on the bathroom wall.

It’s 1978. Harry and Louis are just trying to get to San Fran in time for the Queen concert.

As the sun kisses the horizon, one last flash of light before the stars and the moon take over, his phone will brighten in his grasp, Louis’ name appearing on screen, come over or wanna see you or miss your mouth. Harry always lingers on those messages, elbows bruising on the cool metal of the railing by the lookout, watching the water as he thumbs at the side of his phone, lips bitten into his mouth, trying to will away the bubbling in his stomach, the heat that flushes to his neck at the thought of being thought of.

At the thought of Louis thinking of him.

Harry smiles so sweetly then that Louis can’t imagine he’ll even need the sugar, if the muffins aren’t sweet enough just because they were made by him. “Thanks,” he says, eyes lingering a little longer on Louis before he lets himself back into Gemma’s apartment, and then Louis is just standing in the hallway by himself.

The Styles-Twist holiday in the Catskills is supposed to be just that: a family holiday. A last hurrah before Harry relocates to the states for uni. Instead, it quickly devolves into a honeymoon for his parents, leaving Harry and Gemma to fend for themselves. Harry quickly befriends the staff at the resort, and is enticed by Louis, one of the dance instructors. Harry gets in over his head in an attempt to impress him, but with Gemma egging him on and a ticking clock, how could he not at least try? Or, the Dirty Dancing AU no one asked for.

It’s besides the point though, because Harry knows he can’t allow himself to get close to any boys. He just can’t and he’s told himself this multiple times. He has to simply stay away from Louis Tomlinson. But he can’t. Harry Styles can never stay away from Louis Tomlinson. It’s physically impossible for him to.

28. This is is no particular order.-sunsetmog ( @magicalrocketships ) because that’s how i first started reading tomlinshaw and actually got into the ship and she just has so many fics to read and have a variety of ships and everything is so well written and i love all of her fics that i’ve read and if im feelin nostalgic for some tomlinshaw, hers are the ones i go for.

-seducedbycurls ( @seduced-by-curls ) because I love the world building aspect in their fics. I first read Peaches and Cream and loved it and then ended up reading Cold Little Heart and that fic is still one of my all time favorites and if you haven’t read CLH, you should (just read the tags bc there’s some possible triggers in the fic). 

-fondleeds ( @fondleeds ) because literally everything they do is amazing. I don’t even know really where to begin honestly. There are very few fics that I can say that I would gladly pay money to buy in a physical form, but Here In the Afterglow is 100% at the top of that list. Like holy fuck. Their writing style is amazing and so poetic and i can always clearly visualize everything, their fics make me cry (which i rarely do) and feel so many emotions. The way that they write is my literal goals I couldn’t believe that they’re only a year older than me when I found out, like I honestly thought they were older and a published author because holy fuck. Anyways, I’m going to cut myself off on this one here but just so y’all know, I love lysha’s writing so fucking much.

29. this one is hard and i don’t really know tbh. maybe a prequel to The Exceptionals by iwillpaintasongforlou ( @canonlarry ) because that was an amazing fic and i love me some world ending shit.  I can’t think of any other fic that I feel like I could make an attempt at a prequel or sequel so I think that’ll have to be my answer.

1. So a typical me fic falls into one of two categories.a) its soft and gentle and maybe features late nights and some magic or some space or something fantasy related. orb) kinda sad, maybe a bit bloody and has more dark themes but nothing too heavy, and mostly cathartic for me to write (or its from an elaborate head canon that i had that got expanded on by others so i had to write it and it came out weird)Most of the time its option A, and almost all the time it’s Louis centric bc he’s my boy and i love him.
