GENEVIEVE ALIU —
IG info/bio: @/genevealiu1 | 19k followers | currently on a journey as a junior doctor living in 🇦🇺🤎 | blm.card.co🖤 | sk💛
26 years of age
Born and raised in Glastonbury, England
Pisces sun? + libra moon?
Mother is Guyanese and works for a non-profit organization
Her father is Nigerian and works in property management
has one older brother who is a Prosthetist and resides in Nigeria with his pregnant fiancée
She can’t wait to be a auntie!!!
And a younger sister who is a medical laboratory technician
To say the least, their parents were happy that their children fell into the medical field. Based on their cultures it was a honor to have their children in these professions
Vieve grew up with a sassy demeanor and her parents have old videos on their camcorders to prove it lol, it never fails that the pair brings out the embarrassing vids during the holidays but vieve genuinely appreciates them
Although thanksgiving is a RACIST American thing, vieve never misses the opportunity to share what she’s thankful for in life and counts all of it as blessings! But it’s still fuck the pilgrims
Has held a friendsgiving before, loves any moment where she can host gatherings or attend them! either is quite fine. She loves being around people
the only time she likes to look back on the past is to see how she and her family carried themselves then and how the evolved into who they are now, it’s interesting to see
Loves “how it started vs how it’s going” posts and might have participated in a few
Always knew from a young age that she wanted to help people in some way, she was always doing something to help around the house and especially her aging/sickly grandparents
Felt offended that many people around school that she thought were her friends would stab her in the back labeling her as this “fake saint” since she rather spend her time volunteering instead of going to house parties in hs
Don’t get it twisted, she still went to those too & had her fun but definitely felt like it was the same routine and nothing ever felt fulfilling at these functions after awhile
Well known with all the cliques around school but had her own group of friends that fit into many of those cliques but she never felt obligated to stick to one social group. If you were nice and cool with her, she was the same to you, if you weren’t? Depending on her mood, she’d ignore you/say things under her breath or be “fake nice” as a form of being the bigger person
Has a curly hair routine that she consistently follows (after struggling to find the right products to make them flourish) and gets annoyed with if her curls don’t turn out the way she knows they can, it’s always frustrating when things don’t turn out the way you want them to but isn’t afraid to at least try
Three times is the charm! Is one of her mottos
loves bright colors, flowy attire, big hats, brimmed hats, bucket hats, berets, etc...
Has faced racism/prejudices and bullying growing up in public spaces—mostly school/uni & some of those same hatred actions online now that she’s dating seb
Because of that there were times where she felt insecure but deff grew to forgive, heal, and rise above the hate, she knows her worth
Has never been happier in a relationship than she is with seb, he’s her “moody long-haired, soft-hearted bby”
they’re both complete fools for each other and vieve is more vocal about her being in love/finding her soulmate whereas seb doesn’t mind showing it rather than speaking it—even tho he’s on a podcast but we mind our business okay?!
Seb is thinking of moving to Australia with vieve, he’s ready to risk it all for this woman, HIS woman 🤩
canon: gives more than she should/taken advantage of/not reciprocating in relationships... ex) how she dated a guy that she did everything for! especially financially and also struggled to find her worth but once she did? Her aura shined brighter than before— Ik chill out there Rocco
Also believes in loving yourself first to attract what you need in this world and found that in her career and seb. I hope they’re endgame! Since they’re the only couple I rooted for this season? Except for tai & ciaran maybe? They’re probably not endgame but whatever
They still get nervous/shy around each other even tho they’ve been together for months now + are in a long distance relationship which is too cute! I think since they’re in this for the long game they can look back on moments and still feel the way they felt in that moment. You know if you get the chance or have already heard elderly people talk about their relationships and how they get all starry eyed? That’s vieve & seb, that shit gets me right in my feels ew
Vieve’s love language is quality time, it’s what she shows and likes along with acts of service from her partner
Makes the best jollof rice & her fav dish is Metemgee
Trying to be on a plant-based diet only but will have her cheat days on occasion—mostly when she’s drunk and forgets her diet plan lmao that’s me getting double cheeseburgers or anything with dairy drunk af
now living in Australia, she tried to like vegemite but...the it’s a no for her, respectfully ofc! She never wants to disrespect anyone
besides the food, the atmosphere is much nicer since she feels like she’s on a holiday almost everyday and that there’s much more to see and do when she has the time
Loves the beaches and is thinking about surfing lessons
yes she enjoys those doctor shows and can agree that most scenarios are not the same as rl ofc but great question!
Since she’s a junior doctor now, and on her way to graduation! She feels so accomplished and having this chance to complete what she’s wanted her whole life in a different place, makes her super emotional
All those stressful all-nighters will be worth it. She mostly did it on her own but is nothing but humble and Is thankful to those that have helped her along the way, what kind of person would she be if she didn’t mention them?
and when COVID hit, she was one of many already on the frontlines. Her studies became altered but this wouldn’t stop her for her mission on this earth, this was her purpose and she knew we would conquer it all—but definitely has empathy and gets angry with how it’s being handled from time to time
She’s been exposed to it first hand which aboustely worries her parents, seb, her friends, and friends from the villa
Keeps up to date when all medical news, has a whole app dedicated to health
Learning French with some of her free time and is doing well at it
It was only natural for her to become closer to elladine since their men are homies and have a podcast together
They’ve hung out a few times on a double dates before the boat vacation & once just as girls before vieve left to Australia
Vieve is always offering advice but knows that every relationship is different and what works for her and seb won’t work for elladine and Nicky, she loves them together and knows everyone has bumps in the road
feels there’s some sort of tension between her and Harry now? Which she found a little off putting since they were supposed to be friends but she realizes that Harry has a condition but it’s also not an excuse for him to treat her shitty sometimes which he does and feels like it comes out of nowhere most times but he always apologizes yet vieve is slowly getting tired of this unhealthy habits
So they’re talking less these days, which he notices!
She wants Harry to find his happiness too! If he hasn’t found it in mc first that is
has met Tim— he’s a great laugh and seems like a nice guy—they follow each other, talia and jake in person when she was out with seb—they were also super nice and congratulated them on their win, she went up to miles once on a night out—he’s still a arsehole, priya reached out to her via dm about her new boutique that she wanted her to model in someday, Hope was just as stunning in person along with Siobhan, Chelsea & mc s2 were also kind, and a couple of the guys also wished her and seb well
She’s also noticed some of the shit talking coming from Elisa, Allegra, Lucy, and mc s1 (subtle shade from mc, basically about how vieve reacted if mc decided to give Harry a go but that was only brought to her attention thru fans) online but again, vieve peeped it and felt majority of it didn’t require a response. She was too happy in life rn and she had a man and they don’t
Plans to get a komondor, thinks they’re super cute! — seb does not “if you love me, you’ll love our child.” “It’s a bloody mop dog! And I’m a cat dad, you know that!” “Don’t talk about him like that, he’s got feelings just like your cat babies!”
I feel like she’s a matcha & Frappuccino lover, tries to keep her drinks simple and feels guilty when she has to make adjustments but the heart wants what it wants
Mini Countryman owner, she also drives like a “granny” better safe than sorry! She hates fast drivers, there’s absolutely no need for it!
Minimal makeup: eyeshadow, moisturizer, & a nude lip and she’s good to go
Secretly obsessed with among us, second life, and SIMS!!!
Celeb crushes? Heath ledger, Tyler posey, KENDRICK SAMPSON, Jordan fisher, Algee smith, Donald Glover, Mack Wilds, Khleo Thomas, Robert Ri’chard, Tahj Mowry, & Hasan Minhaj
Listens to: DaniLeigh, ABIR, Mary J. Blige, TORI KELLY, Us the duo, 11:11, Jacob Latimore, fifth harmony, joya mooi, & Greentea Peng, etc...

A pretty long angst and hurt filled chapter for you lovelies. It’s super long but I couldn't find a good spot to split it into two chapters without breaking the intensity or the flow of it.
Murphy can’t control his anger and he fucked up big time. Can they come back from this?
Warnings for intense rage filled Murphy.
Also, don't kill me lolololol.
---------------------
The boys were sat at their table in only their boxers. It was midnight now but Lila was yet to come home to get her stuff and the boys were getting anxious. She got off work an hour ago and they knew it didn't take that long to get to theirs from McGinty's. They'd both been smoking like chimneys and Murphy stood up, pacing a little as he chewed his thumb.
“What if she’s hurt or somethin’? ...Or murdered?! Christ Connor, what if she’s been fuckin’ murdered?!” Murphy practically screeched, his mind running away with him with reasons why she hadn't turned up yet. Connor looked at him incredulously for even saying such a thing out loud and he shook his head.
“Fuckin’ hell Murph! It’s more likely she just didn’t wanna see us and went te the motel without her stuff.” He replied, intending to be somewhat comforting but as he heard his own words, his blood ran cold. Murphy looked horrified at the notion she couldn't stand to even see them for long enough to get her stuff. There was also the realization that if what Connor had said was the truth, then what Murphy had suggested could have happened. The only motel around was shady as hell and it was full of criminals. They'd kill you just for your fucking shoes.
Connor stood up with the intention of getting dressed so they could go and look for her, since he was now worried something had happened to her too, but the door to the loft opened. Lila walked in with Rocco in tow and the twins were relieved that not only was she safe, but that Rocco had walked her back. Rocco felt like it was the least he could do. He knew the whole thing wasn't his fault, he knew the twins shouldn't have done it in the first place and he had actually told them that a few times. But it was him that opened his big mouth and opened the huge can of worms. After the twins had left, Lila had continued to work with a face like thunder, a far cry from the smiley barmaid everyone was used to and everyone there knew something had gone down. He had graciously offered to walk her home and she gladly accepted. She hadn't walked back to the twins' place on her own before and it wasn't in the best part of Southie.
Rocco hadn't expected the girl to burst into tears halfway there. She had been mostly quiet and emotionless, but when he warily asked her if she was okay, it was like the dam broke and she started crying. He felt awkward as shit, crying girls weren’t his thing, but he made an exception for the girl. Lila was his only girl friend, and she was sweet and caring. She didn't deserve to feel so upset about this and he knew she didn't have anyone else because the only other people she trusted were the reason why she was crying in the first place. He understood why the twins did what they did, it didn't make it right, he knew they were just overprotective and incredibly jealous. But he knew it was shitty of them, and after her basically pouring her heart out to Rocco, he’d learnt that she valued honesty above all else, and that twins lying to her, keeping this from her and pulling a move like that, it cut her pretty badly. She told him how the constant rebuffs she was getting made her feel self-conscious, how she just wanted to be happy. She told him how she felt about the boys and how sad she was that they didn't just tell her, and that just fucked him off. He told those two knuckleheads to tell her and all of this could have been avoided. She felt like they had gone behind her back, because they had, and she felt like she was the butt of some kind of joke, with everyone at her place of work thinking she belonged to them when they were just friends.
Rocco tried to tell her they didn't mean to hurt her, that their stupid hearts were in the right place, but she said she needed time, and he knew it was only fair. They stopped her having fun, living her life and being happy all because they were selfish and wanted all of her attention. He hoped it would work out with them all, because despite what happened, they were really good together. Connor and Murphy had always been a package deal, and Lila had somehow managed to become a part of that now. Rocco felt almost stuck in the middle because the boys were his best friends, but at the same time, what they did was wrong and he had grown to care about Lila himself. She was one of his best friends too now and he hated seeing her so cut up about all of this.
After crying and baring her soul to the hairy man, she returned back to being mad and they made their way back. Lila was dreading seeing them again, she knew she needed some space to think and clear her head. She knew the boys, she knew deep down that they wouldn't have done it out of spite, but they still did it and it was fucked up. Like they were forcing some kind of relationship status on her she didn't even have. Stopping her from being able to even have a pleasant conversation with guys she might like as if they were her boyfriends, but they weren't. They could have just told her how they felt, it would have made her happy since she liked them, but instead, they chose not to but still tell everyone she was theirs. It made her feel almost like they didn't want her to see anyone else but they didn't like her enough to be with them officially, like she wasn’t good enough for them and that stung like a fucking bitch.
She didn't look at the twins as she breezed past them, grabbing a trash bag and starting to stuff her clothes inside of it. Rocco was stood near the door awkwardly, he had offered to walk her to the motel, he knew what types frequented the place and he wasn't happy with her going alone. He felt like the twins would be mad at him, he felt guilty for opening his big mouth. But Connor gave him a pat to the back and he relaxed, knowing they weren’t upset with him. The twins knew this was their doing. They had no one to blame but themselves. Connor stood near the table watching forlornly as she packed her stuff, he was struggling to come up with anything to make her stay. He wasn't above begging at this point, though he doubted she would listen when she was so mad at them.
“Lila lass, please don’t do this. At least wait ‘til the mornin’, t’isn’t safe this late.” Connor pleaded, sounding more than desperate. She didn't even acknowledge his words though as she continued gathering her things. She had heard him though, and she wouldn't admit it to them but she was scared. She didn't want to go to some seedy motel or go out this late, not after what happened to her father. But she was too mad to see sense and to back down.
Murphy watched and with each item she put in her bag, his anger increased. He often found his negative emotions too confusing or difficult to deal with, so they twisted into anger. Because anger he could deal with. Connor started to feel it, like an impending sense of doom as Murphy's temper started to flare up and rear its ugly head, and he glanced to his twin warily. Murphy's chest was heaving, his jaw clenched as he glared at the poor girl so hard Connor swore she would burst into flames. But before he could go over to him, Murphy pounced like a fucking lion. He ripped the bag from her hand so hard, she yelped and it flew across the room, the clothes scattering about like fucking confetti.
“Murph!” Connor yelled, appalled at his brother who was now backing the lass up to the wall, his chest puffed out as he pinned her with such an intense stare, she could do nothing but blink up at him. Her back hit the wall and she squinted at him defiantly.
“Connor told ye te do somethin’, so ye better damn well do it girl.” He spat at her, making her eyes widen just a fraction in shock that he had the fucking cheek to talk to her like that.
“I’m not a fucking dog asshole, I don’t take orders from anyone.” She snapped with a glare. His fists were clenched by his side and his nostrils flared as he towered over her.
“If ye think for one fuckin’ second I’m gonna let ye out the fuckin’ door at this time, ye need te get yer fuckin’ head checked woman.” He growled at her, tapping her temple to enunciate his point, making her smack his hand away with a glare. Connor was more than alarmed that he was using his menacing voice on Lila, it was enough to make a grown man shit his pants and tuck tail and run. But much to his surprise, Lila just sneered at him and gave him a little shove. It didn't move him though but now they were stood chest to chest, looking like they were about to start beating seven shades of shit out of each other and Connor didn't know how things had fucking got to this point. Rocco watched the standoff with wide eyes, he didn't know what the fuck was happening but he was scared, the energy in the loft had become incredibly dark and dangerous.
“Murphy, fuckin’ cut it out!” Connor scolded as he walked over and tried to move Murphy but he got pushed away by a firm hand, yet Murphy never wavered from glaring at the girl with fire blazing behind his blue eyes.
“And what the fuck are you gonna do Murphy? Lock me in here?” She asked sarcastically with a quirked brow, seemingly unaffected by Murphy's attempt at intimidating her, it made his nostrils flare. Connor looked between the pair worried shitless, the lass really didn't know what she was dealing with when Murphy was like this. She was playing with fire. He’d never noticed just how similar his brother and the lass were, how stubborn they were and unable to back down. Murphy had never laid his hands on a woman, and Connor didn't think he ever would. But with how he was acting, there was slight doubt creeping into his head. Murphy scoffed, shaking his head bitterly. He bumped his chest into her a little, making her back hit the wall again.
“Ye know, that sounds like a grand fuckin’ idea.” He sneered at her. He moved away and walked over to the fridge, grabbing the key. Lila knew too well this was the only key because the boys had told her as such. They never locked the door when they all left, simply because they didn't have anything of value so they saw no point. Lila watched with narrowed eyes as Murphy took the key, locking the door before sauntering over to the toilet as he gave her a grin that was anything but amused. It was dark and dangerous. He held the key above the toilet and quirked a brow at her, almost like he was challenging her, expecting her to back down and stay.
“Murph, don’t ye fuckin’ dare!” Connor warned with wide eyes.
“Come on man!” Rocco pleaded. Murphy was being fucking ridiculous and everything had gotten so out of hand. Lila laughed loudly, looking at the man incredulously. It wasn't her usual warm laugh though, if anything she was just as scary as Murphy was.
“Go on, do it.” She goaded with a smirk. She really didn't think he would, neither did Rocco. But Connor, Connor knew his brother all too well and how he was when he was angry, what lengths he would go to in order to get his own way. And as Murphy let the key go, letting it fall into the toilet with a plop, the others watched on as he flushed it. Letting the only key to the place go down the drain. Connor sighed agitated and wiped a hand over his face, turning away and tugging on his hair out of frustration at his stubborn pig-headed twin.
“That was the only fuckin’ key man, how the fuck am I supposed to get outta here now?!” Rocco asked incredulously. Murphy's eyes never left Lila but he shrugged, his face almost smug as he smirked at her like he had won.
Lila licked her lower lip and quirked a brow at him. She'd never seen this side to Murphy and deep down she knew if it wasn’t directed at her, it would most likely turn her on, because bossy angry Murphy was a sexy bastard, with his brooding eyes and wicked smile. But it was directed at her and it just made her mad.
She glanced to the window as a plan formed in her mind, she walked over to it casually as she kept her eyes on the intense glaring Murphy.
“Mhm...okay. Have you had your fun now Murphy?” She asked condescendingly as she tilted her head, making Murphy bristle at her tone like she was talking to a child. She might as well have been with how he was acting.
“You know, that wasn't the only way for me to leave.” She mused, smirking almost as she got to the window and pushed it open, intending on going down the fire escape. It was like time slowed down yet also sped up at the same time. Connor was across the room and he was the first to know what was about to happen, his twin senses tingling, but he was too far away. Murphy launched himself at Lila, grabbing her around her waist from behind and trapping her arms by her sides before she had the chance to climb out. Connor and Rocco were shouting as they ran over, Lila screaming bloody murder and so many curse words that she put Rocco to shame.
“Yer not fuckin’ leavin’ ‘til we talk about it!” Murphy yelled down her ear as she thrashed and tried to kick him to no avail, the tiny girl wasn't really any match for him and his strong arms. It was like he was immune or couldn't hear his brother and Rocco yelling at him to let her go.
“Go fuck yourself Murphy, I hope you rot in hell!” She screamed, rearing her head back, hoping to headbutt him, but Murphy anticipated the move and moved his head. Connor and Rocco watched on horrified not knowing what the fuck to do, things were just getting worse and worse and Murphy dragged her away from the window. She would bruise for sure with how tight his grip was but he wasn't thinking, he was just reacting to the overwhelming panic and fear of losing her and it had morphed into blind rage. Connor was actually shocked, completely mortified at how his brother was manhandling the poor lass, but before his brain registered to try and intervene, Rocco threw himself at Murphy.
“Fuckin’ get off her man! You're hurtin’ her!” It was brave of the man, Connor knew that, brave, but incredibly fucking stupid. But somewhere in the mess that the night had turned into, Connor felt somewhat pleased his best friend cared enough about Lila to try and help whilst he had been too busy stood in shock.
Rocco suddenly flew across the room with a resounding smack as he hit the table and it broke under his weight. Lila fell to the floor with the motion as Murphy had suddenly released her to shove Rocco away so hard the man had turned into fucking Superman for a moment. Silence descended on them all in shock, even Murphy as he realised what he had done. Rocco groaned, thankfully not injured but winded as fuck. Lila scrambled to her feet and Murphy thought she would dive out the window and take her chance to escape, yet instead, she ran over to Rocco with a frown and got on her knees as she helped him sit up.
“Jesus Rocco, are you okay?” She asked worried, forgetting about how her arms felt like they were bruising already. He nodded weakly and grimaced as he sat up.
“Just winded.” He muttered, shooting a hurt look to Murphy that made him blink at him, as if the red mist was dissipating and he realised every fucking thing he had done. Connor helped pull Rocco to his feet and the look he gave his twin was more menacing than anything Murphy had ever given to anyone. It took a lot to get that look from Connor, always the more controlled of the pair. And he knew it wasn't just what he'd done to Rocco that had earned him that look.
He was too absorbed in the overwhelming guilt that he hadn't seen the red whirlwind that was Lila storming over to him and shoving him so hard that he actually stumbled back.
“You fucking asshole! Do you just ruin everything you touch?!” She yelled at him, seething with anger. It wasn't so much what he had done to her, that she could handle, but poor Rocco hadn’t deserved any of that. Her words might as well have been a knife to the heart and his face went from angry to blind pain and hurt. She felt a pang of guilt seeing his face crumple, but he deserved the words she had said. She just hated that she had to say them to Murphy. He couldn't even bring himself to speak and he vaguely registered Connor helping Rocco to sit on the couch. Connor could see Murphy’s anger fading so he didn't think he’d try to manhandle Lila again, it was safe enough to check over his best friend. He’d heard her words and winced, he’d actually felt the stab to the heart as Murphy's heart broke all over again.
“Where is my Murphy? My sweet and caring Murphy that I fucking adore so much? Because this asshole isn't him.” She asked brokenly, tears welling in her eyes as her voice wavered. The look on her face made him take a step back, his own tears pricking the back of his eyes as he shook his head, completely mortified with himself. Her words made his heart clench so painfully that he thought it might give out completely. He wasn't stupid, he knew he had anger problems but he never thought it would come to this. He hadn't been able to contain his rage and it got the best of him. And now Lila and Rocco were suffering for it. Lila was right, he did ruin everything he touched. They just stood watching each other for a moment, neither of them seeing Connor as he walked over.
Connor felt for his brother, he really did. He felt his pain, he could fucking feel the regret. But he was pissed at him, beyond pissed even. How the fuck would they get her to stay when he’d practically roughed her up like that and hurt Rocco. Connor almost mirrored Murphy from earlier as he stalked right over, pressing his chest to his brothers, backing him up. Lila couldn't help but compare it to so some kind of animal channel documentary about animal packs and their hierarchy as she watched Murphy lower his head in submission and shrink away. She heard Connor growl, like actually physically growl, as he bumped chests with the darker haired twin and made him take a step back. Murphy was a far cry from minutes ago, looking like a lost boy as he kept his gaze on the floor. He couldn't stand to look at Connor, he didn't need to see the disappointment and anger on his face, it was bad enough feeling it so overwhelmingly.
Connor gripped his jaw roughly, making Murphy look at him with wide watery eyes.
“Ye ever do somethin’ like this again, and I’ll fuckin’ have ye, boy.” He snarled, his voice low and scarier than Murphys had been. Murphy blinked, a stray tear falling down his face as his Adam's apple bobbed. He nodded weakly, the best he could with his face in a vice grip. He knew he had fucked up and he knew Connor was putting him in his place. He fucking needed it. Lila watched the pair, eyes wide and feeling worried Connor was about to beat the holy hell out of Murphy. She didn't want that, not that he didn't deserve it, but she hated to see the twins at odds with each other. Even after everything she still cared about the pair of them. She hesitantly reached a hand out, laying it on the arm that he was using to keep Murphy in place. His eyes snapped to hers and they went from pure rage to confusion and then just soft completely. Murphy glanced to her, half wondering if she would tell Connor to do him fucking in after how he had treated her. Lila remembered what Connor had told her once, how Murphy was over emotional, quick to anger. That he couldn't deal with his emotions but his heart was always in the right place. Both twins watched her carefully but her eyes were only on Connor, she didn't want to look at Murphy right now. She had seen him cry, to bow down in submission to his brother like a beaten dog and as much of an asshole as he had been, it had made her heart ache.
She shook her head, looking at Connor almost pleading and it only served to make more tears come from Murphy, he didn't deserve her help, he didn't deserve anything off her.  Connor looked back to his brother, one last warning look before he let him go. Murphy stumbled backwards, his chest heaving as he glared at the floor. Connor waited for a moment, letting his anger subside. He wasn't like Murphy, he wasn’t rash or impulsive. He was able to snap himself out of it pretty well. The lass wanted him to lay off Murphy and he didn't actually want to hurt him anyway. He could see as clear as day Murphy hated himself in that moment. He stepped forward and wrapped his arms around his brother, his hand coming to cradle the back of his head and Murphy pushed his face into Connors' shoulder and wrapped his arms around him tightly. Lila walked away, leaving them to their moment, as she sat with Rocco. Murphy cried softly, sucking in harsh breaths as he tried to calm himself.
“M’fuckin’ sorry Connor, the fucks wrong with me?” He sobbed, making Connor tighten his grip on him. He knew Murphy had not intended any of this and it broke his heart. He shushed him and let him cry it out like needed to. This was what he should have done in the first place instead of letting himself get angry instead.
Lila was fussing over Rocco, checking for injuries and he swatted her hand away playfully.
“I swear I’m fine Lila.” He huffed, looking at her. He wasn't sure how the fuck he had gotten caught in the crosshairs of this shit storm but he wouldn't take back trying to help her. He had seen Murphy angry, he'd seen him beat the living shit out of someone for insulting his brother. But this shit was beyond that, despite no punches being thrown. Because him and Lila, they were his friends, hell he was fucking in love with the girl, and to see him turn on them like this, it was something else.
“Fuck, I’m sorry Rocco.” She frowned, putting her face in her hands with a large sigh. Rocco looked at her with furrowed brows.
“The fuck for? You weren't the one that put me through the damn table.” He said incredulously, not being able to wrap his head around the fact she was blaming herself.
“But you were only here for me, if it wasn't for me you wouldn't have been here.” She sat up and ran her hand through her hair. It looked more unruly than usual after the scuffle with Murphy.
“I’m glad I was here, ain’t like Connor was gonna step in, he fuckin’ choked and stood there with his jaw hittin’ the fuckin’ floor.” He scoffed, shaking his head with a frown. Lila nodded, she had wondered why Connor had not tried to help her, she hadn't been able to see him. But it seemed he had been stunned by Murphy behaviour. She guessed it said something that Murphy didn't go around fucking manhandling their friends like this usually.
She didn't know what to do. She was still upset, even more so now at Murphy, his behaviour had been more than out of line and even Connor knew that with how he seemed ready to give Murphy hell for what he had done. Yet she couldn't get Murphy's face out of her mind, how crestfallen he had looked, guilty, how he’d actually cried. She glanced over to the boys, they were on the opposite side of the apartment and couldn't hear what they were saying, but Murphy was clinging to Connor like he might drown if he didn't and she could see his body shaking, making it obvious he was crying. Connor rubbed his back and had one hand holding his brother’s head firmly, looking like he was muttering comforting words to him. Despite it all, she was glad to see Connor being there for Murphy, he clearly had some issues and she was glad he didn't have to deal with it alone.
She thought back to the fire escape, she could leave now, she doubted Murphy would try to stop her again after all this, he’d probably think she’d never come back. She was also aware that the last ladder of the fire escape was broken and it was quite a jump down. In her earlier angry state, she had been willing to take the chance of a broken ankle but now, not so much. Everything was a mess and she wasn't sure how they could come back from this. She stood up, making herself a glass of water and she noticed her hands shaking a little. She leant her back against the counter as she sipped it, watching as Rocco stood up and went over to the boys. Connor handed Murphy off to him and Murphy was practically wailing as he hugged Rocco in a vice-like grip, muttering a whole verse of apologies. Rocco just pat his back trying to comfort him. Connor looked up and his eyes met hers as she watched it all from the kitchen. His eyes looked apologetic and she felt for him. He hadn't had any part in this mess. He made no move to go over though, knowing she was probably still upset about earlier as well as Murphy's fucking lapse in sanity. When Rocco moved away from Murphy, the dark-haired twin wiped his eyes and sniffled.
The four of them stood there almost awkwardly, none of them knowing what to do or say. They couldn't really leave, the fire escape wasn't the best option and they all knew it. The air was thick with tension and Rocco did what he did best to try and clear the air, even just a little.
“Fuck man, I can’t believe you flushed the only key down the fuckin’ shitter.” He grinned, looking at Murphy. There was a brief silence before Lila burst out laughing despite herself. It was fucking ridiculous the lengths Murphy had gone to get her not to leave. Her laughter filled the apartment and it was like a warmth spreading into them all. Connor snorted and shook his head, shooting his brother a thoroughly amused look. Even Murphy huffed a laugh, letting Lilas laughter creep into his heart and blossom like a flower in the hollow cavity there.
“Shit, I need a drink.” Lila sighed, a slight smile still on her face. She walked over to the cupboard where she knew the booze was and pulled out an almost full bottle of Jamesons whiskey, walking over to Connors bed and sitting down. She set the bottle down and pulled off her boots and the twins felt relief that she wasn't about to go off in the night, even after what happened. They didn't have much hope that she would stay the next day though, but at least she would be safe for tonight. Rocco glanced to Connor and shrugged as he went and sat in front of her. Connor followed suit, sitting to her left. Murphy looked for a minute, feeling like he wouldn't be wanted there, not after what he had done. He just stood there as Lila opened the bottle and didn’t bother with a glass, taking a long pull straight from the bottle and grimacing at the burn before handing it to Connor who did the same. Lila glanced up to Murphy and the air left his lungs as their eyes locked for a moment, not knowing what she would do or say.
“You coming or what Murph?” She asked, her voice not giving anything away by how she was currently feeling. He looked at her through his lashes, still thoroughly fucking ashamed with himself, and he sat down next to Rocco in front of her. Rocco took a swig and handed him the bottle and Murphy took a big chug of it. He chewed his lip as he handed it back to Lila almost sheepishly. She took it gratefully and took another pull. It might not have been the best idea but getting drunk seemed like the only way to fucking deal with the shit show that had been the night since they were all stuck together. She really wasn't sure where she stood now or what to do with anything. So instead, she decided Mr Jameson would be her best friend for the night, at least he had a way of making her forget all of her problems. She could deal with them tomorrow.

Some decades later...
My eyes dimmed as I looked out into the yard. Leaves fell, whisked away into the cool September air. It had been 29 years since Jay died. Memories swirled in my head, Ben, Grey, Rainy, Anderson, Ed, Mata, Cora, Rocco, Thomas. Tears brimmed in my eyes. It had been so long.
Two years after Jay died, I went back to the office and served for 20 more years. I never did remarry. Sure, I'd dated, but Jay was the love of my life- he is the love of my life. I already had my happily ever after. I watched Dakota grow, I watched Rainy flourish. Koda is now coming up on his 30th birthday. He is married with two amazing children, Rainy, in her late 40s was a grandma now. It's so funny how that works. My mind filled with nostalgia. Every once in a while, old coworkers came to visit, said hi, we had Grey over last Thanksgiving.
"It's time, mom" snapped me out of my trance. Koda looked at me with kind eyes that for a split second I could've sworn were his father's. I nodded almost devastated as he grabbed my wheel chair, stopped by my hand as I looked up at him.
"Your father would be so so proud of you, Dakota" I said, choking back a sob. I bit my lip. He didn't remember his father, although he took his love of dance. When Dakota was young he'd dance with me all throughout the living room like Jay used to.
"I know, ma. He would be proud of both of us." He says with a kind smile. I nod.
We went down long corridors, winding turns, and after what seemed like forever back in this room. My nurse, Patricia smiled at me like she did every week. The smile that you dread. The smile of sympathy.
My eyes closed and a single tear slipped down my face as she did what she does every week.
I've been on chemotherapy for three years now. Stage 4, lung cancer. Well, right now it's hard telling where it is. Last I checked, in my liver, pancreas, lungs, and it wouldn't be long until it's all that's left. It used to be manageable, but I don't know what will happen anymore.
God I missed him. More than anything. My life had never been the same. When the wind shifted just right I could swear I smelled him, heard him call my name. It never was him.
A few hours later, Dakota wheeled a sick and tired me back to my room. He always stayed for a while. I heard the nurses whispering. I know I don't have much time. Not that I had much time to begin with.
I laid down on my bed, Dakota's hand in mine. My boy. My whole world, sitting here in front of me, a grown man. When he got out of highschool he wanted to be an agent. The office was his second home, but I quickly changed his mind. Back then I thought i was protecting him but i was protecting me. It was one of the worst mistakes of my life. Watching him grow, he would've made an amazing agent. I was too young and scared to let him go then. But sitting here on Death's door, all I want is for him to be happy. I'm so tired.
"Mom," he begins, "I love you so so much. If dad were here-" I cut him off quickly.
"If your father were here, you probably would've gotten into a lot more in highschool and you'd probably be an agent by now." I chuckle softly. He smiles.
"Yeah.." he says, wiping a tear softly from his cheek.
I look at him lovingly. "Your father loved you so so much. He probably would've gotten into more shenanigans than you while you were in highschool. God knows he was a troublemaker." I say. The 4/20 party. When we became official. I smile softly.
"You're probably right. That's gotta be where I get my mischief from. It could never have been you, though." He smiles at me. "You need to get some rest, ma." He says sweetly, kissing me on the forehead. I nod, my eyes heavy. The chemo always did this to me. Just need some rest. I smile at him one last time, capturing his eyes like they're the last I'll see.
After what seemed like forever I wake up, fluttering my eyes softly. My dark hair laying underneath me- wait...my hair? I sit up quickly, and sure enough, my long black waves are resting neatly on my shoulders. I gasp lightly. I turn and Dakota is sitting in the chair beside me, smiling softly.
I lift my feet to the side of the bed, closing my eyes tight. What in God's...
"Jay..? I-.. Is that you?" I question, my eyes filling with tears. He smiles wider, tears brimming in his eyes as well.
"Colibri..." he smiles at me. My heart drops. Tears spill down my cheeks as I run to him, his arms quickly wrapping around me. For a few short seconds, we sit in a loving embrace, his hand rubbing my back. We quickly break apart with a chilling realization,
"You're dead?" I say, almost afraid of his answer. He nods with serious eyes, before they shift behind me. I turn around slowly, another tear falling.
Me. I laid in the bed, a blanket wrapped around me and a beanie on my pale head. The monitor beside my body rung loud and clear. I turned to Jay, his eyes warm and loving. His hand reached out to mine.
"It's time, my love" he said, almost a whisper. I nod, the tears in my eyes drying. I took his hand as he led me out of the room. Dakota paced quickly along the long corridor. We walk to him, and he stops as I place a loving hand on his shoulder. Tears slip down his cheeks.
"I know, baby" I whisper softly. He didn't answer. I give him a firm kiss before turning with Jay and walking toward the door.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
// I'm not crying you guys are... I was in a sort of mood and decided to write the end of their love story. Joane died peacefully, and loved. As for Dakota, he and Rainy are grieving and he is thinking about joining the FBI. You guys are so awesome and i want you all to know I think about you all sometimes and I really do get nostalgic. I was in a very dark place while RPing with you guys and you were this light in my life that I really needed. I am going much better and i'm in a very happy relationship much like Joane and Jay's (except more tempers and less angst). I hope you guys are doing well, and the best to you all ~
MotoAmerica Headed Back To Road America With Fans In Attendance
If you’re racing in the 2020 MotoAmerica Series, specifically in the HONOS Superbike class, one thing is certain: You’re hoping that there’s no such thing as déjà vu when the proceedings get rolling again at Road America this weekend for round two as MotoAmerica becomes the first motorcycle series in the U.S. to host fans post COVID-19 shutdown.
<
Tumblr media
Cameron Beaubier (1) dominated the 2020 MotoAmerica Series opener in the HONOS Superbike class at Road America. The series returns to Wisconsin this weekend. Photo by Brian J. Nelson. You don’t have to have a very long memory to recall how four-time MotoAmerica Superbike Champion Cameron Beaubier performed in the opening round of the series. The Monster Energy Attack Performance Yamaha rider demoralized the field with two runaway victories at a racetrack that normally features nail-biting finishes.
Beaubier led every session except for the warm-up on Sunday morning when mechanical issues held him to just one complete lap. He also broke the lap record with his 2:11.145 coming in the second session. Then the Californian simply owned the races, winning the two by margins of 7.8 and 14.3 seconds, respectively.
But that was then, and this is now, and we will find out in a few short days if the rest of the pack has found anything to gain time on Beaubier.
It’s Beaubier’s new teammate Jake Gagne who is closest to Beaubier in the championship after one round, the laid-back Californian finishing third and second in his debut on the second Monster Energy Attack Performance Yamaha YZF-R1.
Gagne had battles in both races with Westby Racing’s Mathew Scholtz and M4 ECSTAR Suzuki’s Bobby Fong, with Scholtz finishing second in race one with Gagne third and Fong fourth. In race two, the other two handed Gagne second place when the pair crashed out together in turn five after Fong clashed with Scholtz. Both men were quick up until that point with both dipping into the 2:11s. Ditto for Gagne.
That left an intense battle for the final podium spot between Scheibe Racing BMW’s Josh Herrin and KWR’s Kyle Wyman and his Ducati Panigale V4 R. Herrin came out on top, by just .011 of a second, and his sixth- and third-place finishes puts him third in the title chase, 24 points behind Beaubier and just two points ahead of Wyman who earned fifth- and fourth-place finishes in the opener.
Scholtz is tied for fifth with Celtic HSBK Racing’s PJ Jacobsen with FLY Racing ADR Motorsports’ David Anthony, Fong, RideHVMC’s Corey Alexander and Thrashed Bike Racing’s Max Flinders rounding out the top 10 in the series standings after one round.
The rider who struggled the most in the series opener is the same rider who most believe can make Beaubier’s life a bit more difficult. That man is Toni Elias. Elias’ opening weekend was atrocious. In race one, the Spaniard’s Suzuki GSX-R1000 lost its chain and in race two the former 2018 MotoAmerica Superbike Champion crashed. He comes to round two with zero points and a real need to get his feet back on the ground on the M4 ECSTAR Suzuki. If there’s a highlight to the weekend for Elias, it’s the fact that his best time over the course of the weekend this year was .675 of a second quicker than his best from a year ago.
Road America 2 Notes…
With the debut of the Mini Cup by Motul class and Heritage Cup exhibition class, entries for round two of the 2020 MotoAmerica series have eclipsed the 180-rider mark.
Ticket sales are also on the rise with sales on pace to equal or surpass the 2019 numbers just one race after no spectators were allowed at round one, a race that had record numbers of viewers worldwide. “We’re extremely happy with how the opening round of the 2020 MotoAmerica Series went at Road America,” said MotoAmerica President Wayne Rainey. “We had huge television numbers with FOX Sports, Eurosport, MAVTV, NBC Sports, YouTube and MotoAmerica Live+. The event went off without a hitch, thanks to the efforts of our in-house staff, the staff at Road America, our volunteers, the riders and the teams. Now we get to go back to Road America and race in front of our fans, which will make this second race in Wisconsin even better. The COVID 19 pandemic has impacted everyone’s lives in some way and we’re happy to give our fans the opportunity to get out and see some racing at a world-class facility like Road America. We will be doing so, of course, using COVID guidelines.”
Beaubier’s two victories in the HONOS Superbike class at Road America in round one were the 39th and 40th career AMA Superbike wins for the four-time series champion. Beaubier is third on the all-time AMA Superbike win list behind Mat Mladin (82) and Josh Hayes (61).
Of the active riders in the HONOS Superbike class, Beaubier is on top of the all-time AMA Superbike race wins list with 40 victories. Toni Elias is tied for fourth on the list with Miguel Duhamel with 32 wins. The next highest number of wins by an active MotoAmerica rider is Josh Herrin with eight wins followed by Mathew Scholtz with two.
Road America 2 will mark the debut of the MotoAmerica Mini Cup by Motul class. The Ohvale-spec racing class will feature riders aged as young as seven competing on the go-kart track, which is located by the Carousel corner.
Cameron Beaubier broke his two-year-old lap record at Road America 1, the Monster Energy Attack Performance Yamaha rider putting in his quick lap in the second session – a 2:11.145. Beaubier’s previous best – a 2:11.422 – was set during Superpole in 2018.
Valentin Debise’s racing plans were thwarted by COVID-19 travel restrictions when he was denied a visa to leave his home country of France. Debise was slated to ride the second Scheibe Racing BMW in the HONOS Superbike races at Road America 2.
Six different manufacturers will be represented on the grid at Road America: Yamaha (eight entries), BMW (four entries), Suzuki (four entries), Kawasaki (five entries), Ducati (two entries) and Honda (one entry).
As far as manufacturers go, Yamaha has the most wins at Road America with 21 followed by Suzuki with 17, Honda (12), Ducati (eight) and Kawasaki (four). Yamaha had won seven of eight races until Suzuki swept both races in 2019 with Toni Elias and Josh Herrin. Beaubier started a new Yamaha streak with his two wins in Road America 1 at the end of May.
Riders from six different countries will line up at Road America in the HONOS Superbike class with the U.S., Spain, South Africa, Great Britain, Brazil and Australia all represented.
Cameron Beaubier has now won nine HONOS Superbike races at Road America and that ties him with Mat Mladin as the all-time Superbike race winner in America’s Dairyland. Going into last year’s two races, Beaubier had won seven of the past 10 Superbike races in Elkhart Lake, but he was shut out in 2019 with two second-place finishes. Beaubier ended that streak with his two wins at Road America 1 a month ago.
If you remove Richie Escalante’s two runaway wins in the Supersport class in the opening round of the 2020 MotoAmerica Series at Road America at the end of May, the combined margin of victory for the other support classes on a sunny weekend in Wisconsin was a scant .168 of a second. Yes, .168 of a second.
Tumblr media
Richie Escalante (54) won both Supersport races in the opening round of the 2020 MotoAmerica Series at Road America. Sean Dylan Kelly (40) and Brandon Paasch (21) both had second-place finishes. Photo by Brian J. Nelson.
All that close racing happened without fans in the season opener, but this weekend’s action will take place with fans at the picturesque four-mile-long racetrack in Elkhart Lake as MotoAmerica becomes the first motorcycle series in the U.S. to host fans post COVID-19 shutdown.
Like the premier HONOS Superbike class with Cameron Beaubier’s first-round domination, the Supersport Series opener also featured a double winner with HONOS Racing’s Escalante starting his season off with a bang with two race victories on his new Kawasaki ZX-6R. Escalante topped Celtic HSBK’s Brandon Paasch in race one by 11.5 seconds and M4 ECSTAR Suzuki’s Sean Dylan Kelly by 16.1 seconds in race two to complete his perfect weekend. On track, Paasch was second both times out, but he was disqualified from race two when his Yamaha YZF-R6 was found to be under the mandatory weight limit. Kelly, meanwhile, had his troubles in race one when he crashed out.
With his two closest competitors each failing to score points in one of the two races, Escalante leads the championship heading into this weekend’s Road America 2 by 24 points over the surprising Nate Minster. Minster and his TSE Racing Yamaha finished fourth in each race and he ended the weekend four points clear of Kevin Olmedo in the championship chase. Olmedo earned his first Supersport podium in race one but slipped back to 10th in race two. Paasch and Kelly are tied for fourth – 30 points behind Escalante.
Going into the opening round of the Liqui Moly Junior Cup Series, it was almost a forgone conclusion that defending champion Rocco Landers would have his way with the rest of the field. After all, Landers did win 14 Liqui Moly Junior Cup races last year en route to the title.
But it seems as though no one reminded Dominic Doyle of that.
Doyle won both races over the course of the weekend – by the slightest of margins. On Saturday, the South African beat Landers by .078 of a second. On Sunday, it was even closer with the BARTCON Kawasaki besting Landers by a Bond-like .007 of a second. For those not keeping track, that translates to Landers and his Landers Racing Kawasaki missing out on victory in two races by a combined .085 of a second.
With his two wins, Doyle goes back to Road America with a 10-point lead on Landers. Third place is held jointly by Benjamin Gloddy, the New Hampshire resident ending up fifth and third in the two races on his Quarterley Racing/On Track Development Kawasaki and Celtic HSBK Racing’s Samuel Lochoff, who mirrored Gloddy’s results with a third and a fifth. Westby Racing’s Cody Wyman heads to Wisconsin for round two tied for fifth in the point standings with Rodio Racing’s Gus Radio.
Just when you thought things couldn’t get closer than .007 of a second, they did. In Saturday’s opening round of the Twins Cup Series, 1833CJKNOWS’ Kaleb De Keyrel won by just .002 of a second. And guess who was second? Yes, it was Landers – in his Twins Cup debut on the Roadracing World Young Guns/Sportbiketrackgear.com Suzuki. On Sunday the same two went at it again – this time joined in the battle by Robem Engineering’s Jackson Blackmon. Believe it or not, Landers again came up short. Just short. Like .082 of a second short and that put him in third place as Blackmon beat him to the line by just .001 of a second. So in four races, Landers lost out on victory by a combined margin of .169 of a second. We have a feeling that Landers might show up for round two just a bit fired up.
With De Keyrel 14 points ahead of Landers heading into round two, Blackmon is third, a further five points behind. Jason Madama, who put his Syndicate Racing/Apex Assassin’s Yamaha on the podium in race one, is fourth in the points and five points clear of his friend/rival Chris Parrish.
PJ Jacobsen made his Stock 1000 debut a successful one, the Celtic HSBK Racing Ducati rider beating Altus Motorsports’ Cameron Petersen and his Suzuki GSX-R1000 by 4.26 seconds with Ride HVMC Racing’s Corey Alexander third on his Kawasaki ZX-10R. Mesa37Racing/Tango’s Stefano Mesa and Michael Gilbert Racing’s Michael Gilbert rounded out the top five with the Stock 1000 class only having one race in the opener.
Road America Support Class Notes…
MotoAmerica has upped the minimum weight requirement for the Ducati Panigale V4 R to 180 kilograms from 170 kg in the Stock 1000 class, effective immediately. PJ Jacobsen rode the Celtic HSBK Ducati to victory in the Stock 1000 class in the opening round of the series at Road America and will have to race with 22 pounds added to the Panigale for round two.
The largest grid for round two at Road America? That would be the Twins Cup class with 28 of the twin-cylinder motorcycles entered for the second round of the MotoAmerica Series. Stock 1000 features the second highest entry with 23 followed by Supersport with 22 and Liqui Moly Junior Cup with 20. The premier HONOS Superbike class will feature 24 entries for Road America 2.
Double duty: Rocco Landers isn’t the only Liqui Moly Junior Cup rider pulling double duty this weekend. While Landers will compete again in both Liqui Moly Junior Cup and Twins Cup, he will be joined by Cameron Jones. Jones, who rides the only Honda CBR500R in the Liqui Moly Junior Cup, will race a Honda CBR600RR in the Supersport class at Road America this weekend.
The official track length at Road America is 4.048 miles, which makes it the longest on the MotoAmerica schedule. The track features 14 turns and is affectionally known as “four miles of fun.”
For those not keeping track, that translates to Landers and his Landers Racing Kawasaki missing out on victory in two races by a combined .085 of a second.
With his two wins, Doyle goes back to Road America with a 10-point lead on Landers. Third place is held jointly by Benjamin Gloddy, the New Hampshire resident ending up fifth and third in the two races on his Quarterley Racing/On Track Development Kawasaki and Celtic HSBK Racing’s Samuel Lochoff, who mirrored Gloddy’s results with a third and a fifth. Westby Racing’s Cody Wyman heads to Wisconsin for round two tied for fifth in the point standings with Rodio Racing’s Gus Radio.
Just when you thought things couldn’t get closer than .007 of a second, they did. In Saturday’s opening round of the Twins Cup Series, 1833CJKNOWS’ Kaleb De Keyrel won by just .002 of a second. And guess who was second? Yes, it was Landers – in his Twins Cup debut on the Roadracing World Young Guns/Sportbiketrackgear.com Suzuki. On Sunday the same two went at it again – this time joined in the battle by Robem Engineering’s Jackson Blackmon. Believe it or not, Landers again came up short. Just short. Like .082 of a second short and that put him in third place as Blackmon beat him to the line by just .001 of a second. So in four races, Landers lost out on victory by a combined margin of .169 of a second. We have a feeling that Landers might show up for round two just a bit fired up.
With De Keyrel 14 points ahead of Landers heading into round two, Blackmon is third, a further five points behind. Jason Madama, who put his Syndicate Racing/Apex Assassin’s Yamaha on the podium in race one, is fourth in the points and five points clear of his friend/rival Chris Parrish.
PJ Jacobsen made his Stock 1000 debut a successful one, the Celtic HSBK Racing Ducati rider beating Altus Motorsports’ Cameron Petersen and his Suzuki GSX-R1000 by 4.26 seconds with Ride HVMC Racing’s Corey Alexander third on his Kawasaki ZX-10R. Mesa37Racing/Tango’s Stefano Mesa and Michael Gilbert Racing’s Michael Gilbert rounded out the top five with the Stock 1000 class only having one race in the opener.
Road America Support Class Notes…
MotoAmerica has upped the minimum weight requirement for the Ducati Panigale V4 R to 180 kilograms from 170 kg in the Stock 1000 class, effective immediately. PJ Jacobsen rode the Celtic HSBK Ducati to victory in the Stock 1000 class in the opening round of the series at Road America and will have to race with 22 pounds added to the Panigale for round two.
The largest grid for round two at Road America? That would be the Twins Cup class with 28 of the twin-cylinder motorcycles entered for the second round of the MotoAmerica Series. Stock 1000 features the second highest entry with 23 followed by Supersport with 22 and Liqui Moly Junior Cup with 20. The premier HONOS Superbike class will feature 24 entries for Road America 2.
Double duty: Rocco Landers isn’t the only Liqui Moly Junior Cup rider pulling double duty this weekend. While Landers will compete again in both Liqui Moly Junior Cup and Twins Cup, he will be joined by Cameron Jones. Jones, who rides the only Honda CBR500R in the Liqui Moly Junior Cup, will race a Honda CBR600RR in the Supersport class at Road America this weekend.
The official track length at Road America is 4.048 miles, which makes it the longest on the MotoAmerica schedule. The track features 14 turns and is affectionally known as “four miles of fun.”
Turn Left (Doctor Who S04E11)
Tumblr media
Today Jon is forced to watch and recap “Turn Left”, the eleventh episode of Doctor Who’s fourth series. Donna’s taking a stroll down memory lane, but the things she’s remembering aren’t necessarily what actually happened. Can she make sense of things and get back to her proper life before it’s too late?
Keep reading to find out…
Eli, your latest recap was fantastic! I’m glad you had more fun with this flashback episode, and that you’re coming around to younger Dorothy! Although, I think maybe there was some sort of issue with the DVD I gave you? You seem to think that it wasn’t actually Betty White out there shredding the dancefloor, which I can only assume is due to some sort of audiovisual glitch or something like that. Sorry for the confusion, and hopefully you can watch a better copy soon!
For now, though, we’re due for some Donna Time.
Episode directed by Graeme Harper and written by Russell T Davies
On the planet Shan Shen, which seems like an intergalactic Chinatown, the Doctor’s showing Donna around and she’s having a really great time. The Doc lags behind to chat with some locals, and Donna wanders ahead only to be stopped by a fortuneteller. Donna’s not really interested in hearing her future told, though; she’s happy with her life as it is. The fortuneteller says the reading’s free for redheads, so Donna gives it a whirl. Inside the shop, the fortuneteller is fascinated by Donna. Specifically, she wants to know how Donna came to know the fascinating man in her life. Donna explains that she wound up in the Doc’s TARDIS on her wedding day, but the fortuneteller specifically wants to know what choices led Donna to that day. Donna is overwhelmed by a flashback of her time as a temp back at H.C. Clements, and behind her something begins to skitter towards her across the shop’s floor. Donna says she got that job because she chose to ignore Sylvia’s advice about taking another job. Donna is sucked into another flashback, this time showing Sylvia browbeating her daughter and trying to convince her to take the job she wants her to have. The central choice happened on the road: Donna chose to turn left, towards H.C. Clements, instead of turning right towards Sylvia’s job. Back in the shop, Donna is getting more and more freaked out. She demands the fortuneteller let go of her hands, and now she’s aware of something crawling on her back. The fortuneteller orders her to change her choice, this time turning right instead of left. The legs of a giant insect appear on Donna’s shoulders as she’s sucked back into the past. She turns right.
After the opening credits, which totally spoiled that Billie Piper’s going to play a major role in this episode, Donna’s at a Christmas party with some of her gal pals. Things are going well; her new boss, Jival Chowdry, just gave her a promotion to his personal assistant. Everyone’s happy for her, except for one of her friends, Alice, who can’t stop staring at her. She can’t quite explain what’s freaking her out, but she also can’t ignore the feeling. Outside, the Racnoss Webstar arrives and begins its attack on London.Everyone flees, except for a transfixed Donna and Alice, who continues to stare at Donna’s back. Before Alice turns to run, she tells Donna that there’s something on her back. Donna runs towards the ship, just as the military arrives to destroy it. She comes upon a large crowd and overhears a soldier telling his commander that a man managed to kill a big red spider thing under the city, but that the man, called the Doctor, is now dead. Donna walks away just as Rose Tyler comes running up. Donna lets her know that the Doctor is dead, and a devastated Rose says she came so far for nothing. Donna introduces herself, while Rose doesn’t give her name. Rose knows something is on Donna’s back, too, but as Donna tries to see behind her Rose vanishes.
In the next scene, Donna has been sacked by Chowdry. The Racnoss attack devastated his business, and he has to let Donna go. Donna’s in a mood to make a scene, but just then the building is shaken as a giant cloud appears above a nearby hospital. Royal Hope disappears, but Donna’s is too busy being pissed off to notice. The hospital reappears, but there was only one survivor. Back at home, Donna and Wilfred watch the news story and learn that a medical student named Martha Jones sacrificed herself to give her colleague enough air to breath. Donna doesn’t really believe the hospital got taken to the moon, no matter how convinced Wilfred is. Sylvia is busy going through Donna’s things, and we learn that Donna’s dad has passed away. An emotionally exhausted Sylvia tells Donna she’s given up on her. On the news, the surviving medical student says the day was saved by a woman named Sarah Jane Smith and her teenage sidekicks, who all died on the moon. Donna goes off to buy dinner, only to have Rose reappear in a flash of light. Rose still doesn’t introduce herself, and she’s still fixated on Donna’s back. Donna says a lot of people are staring at her back lately. Rose asks what Donna’s doing for next Christmas, and tells her she should get out of London. She knows about Donna’s raffle ticket, and says she’s going to win the raffle. Donna’s had enough, and tells Rose to leave her alone.
Donna doesn’t pass down the raffle winnings, though, and she, Sylvia and Wilfred arrive at a posh B&B in the country.  Sylvia’s in a better mood, and she and Donna bond over how much Donna’s dad would have loved this. A maid arrives with breakfast for the family, and she’s horrified by something she sees on Donna’s back. She warns Donna in Spanish that something’s on her back, and for the first time Donna almost catches sight of it. On the news, the family watches a replica of the Titanic crash into Buckingham Palace as the whole resort shakes around them. Outside, they see a giant mushroom cloud forming over what’s left of London. Wilfred reflects on the fact that he was supposed to be selling papers in the city on Christmas, and if they weren’t at the resort they’d all be dead.
As Donna and her family are now essentially refugees, they’re being relocated to Leeds. They’re sent to live in a house already occupied by several families, among others. They’re greeted by Rocco Colasanto, the eternally cheerful patriarch of a large family. The Nobles are designated to live in the kitchen. Wilfred tries to keep up a brave front, but Donna is devastated. Wilfred says America will offer the UK aid, but that is going to happen. With London no longer an option, Matron Cofelia decided the US would be a perfect place to breed a new generation of Adipose. Sixty million Americans have dissolved into baby butterballs, and America’s in too much of a crisis to help the UK now. The Nobles are too worn out to be upset at this point. At night, Sylvia reflects on everyone they’ve known who’s died while Donna promises to find work and get them a place of their own. Sylvia doesn’t think it will get better; even the bees are going missing. The Colasantos begin having a singalong outside and Donna goes to raise hell, but Wilfred’s a part of the ruckus and Donna and Sylvia join in. The Nobles begin to feel happy in their new home, but then shots begin ringing out outside. The ATMOS devices in the cars have started emitting poison gas, and the soldiers are trying to shoot the devices. One of them catches sight of Donna’s back and pulls his gun on her. He demands she turn around, but when she does there’s nothing there. Donna catches sight of the flashing lights that herald Rose’s arrival.
Rose and Donna go for a walk and Rose explains the deal with the ATMOS devices. She tells Donna Torchwood is taking steps to stop the Sontarans, and they succeed, but they died in the process. She tells Donna that none of this was supposed to happen. The Doctor stopped it all, and Donna knew him. She tries to explain that Donna used to be a companion, and that she saved the Doctor’s life by convincing him to leave after he defeated the Racnoss Queen. Donna has a flashback to that night, but she gets spooked and starts to storm off. Rose says something worse is coming, and that she’s been pulled here from another universe to stop it. Donna doesn’t understand what she’s supposed to do with this information; she beats herself up and calls herself nothing, but Rose says she’s the most important woman in the whole of creation. Donna’s tired, though. Rose says she needs Donna to come with her, but Donna turns her down. She tells Donna she’ll be back in three weeks, and that Donna will come with her only to end up dying. She vanishes before Donna’s eyes. Back home, the Colasantos are being sent off to labor camps. England is only for the English at this point, and any immigrants are being sent away. Colasanto tries to keep up a brave face for Donna, but Wilfred, who served in WWII, knows what’s up. He and Colasanto share a heartbreaking look before the whole family is loaded onto a truck. Wilfred explains to Donna that they’re in the middle of a holocaust. Donna runs after the truck to try to find out where the Colasantos are being taken, but the truck doesn’t stop.
Back inside the now-empty house, Sylvia’s basically dead inside. Donna tells her she asked about work, but no one will hire her. In effort to get her mother talking, Donna calls herself a disappointment and Sylvia agrees. Later, Donna and Wilfred go out for some stargazing. Donna keeps beating herself up, but Wilfred is too distracted to contradict her. He’s noticed something is wrong; an entire constellation is missing. He and Donna look at the sky, and one by one the stars begin to go out before their eyes. Donna’s made up her mind. She turns to find Rose right behind her, and tells her she’s ready. Rose takes her to a UNIT base, where Rose and Donna are both greeted by Captain Erisa Magambo. Rose hasn’t given Magambo her name, either. Nearby, the TARDIS has been wired up to some sort of machine. Rose gets Donna to go inside the TARDIS, and she’s promptly freaked out. The inside of the ship is dark and cold, but Donna’s still amazed by it. Rose says the ship is dying, but it’s still trying to help. Rose explains that the Doctor was a Time Lord, and Donna doesn’t understand what someone like that would want with her. Rose explains that the Doc thought she was brilliant, and that he made everyone feel that way when they were around him. Donna picks up that Rose and the Doc had a thing, but then Rose catches sight of the thing on Donna’s back again. Rose asks if Donna wants to see the thing, and at first Donna says no. She finally says yes, and steps into a circle of mirrors hooked up to the TARDIS.
Lights come on, but Donna’s too scared to open her eyes and see thing. Rose convinces her to, and she finally sees the giant bug on her back. She’s horrified, and Rose says they don’t know what the thing is. They do know it feeds off of time, though, specifically by changing time. Donna wants it off her back, but Rose says they can’t even touch the thing. Donna is straight freakin; she calls Rose a liar for telling her she was special, when the whole time it was this thing that was special while Donna was just its host. Rose says that isn’t it true, and that Donna is somehow causing reality to bend around her. Rose is convinced that they need the Doctor, but they also need Donna to be with him. Captain Magambo powers off the machine and Donna can’t see the thing anymore, but she knows it’s still there. Rose says that in order to get rid of it, Donna’s going to travel in time.
Rose tells her she’s got to go back in time and stop herself from turning right when she was meant to turn left. Donna gets rigged up in a ramshackle time jacket and the machine powers up around her. Donna says she’s ready, and that she understands. Rose said she was going to die, but what she meant is that this world, the world in which Donna never meets the Doctor, isn’t going to exist anymore. Donna’s okay with this, because a better world will exist in its place. Donna’s sure she won’t really die, but Rose doesn’t confirm this. As the machine powers up around her, Donna begins to freak out again. How can she die if she’s supposed to meet the Doctor? The machine activates, and Donna’s on a street in the middle of London. There’s a problem, though; she got transported to Sutton Court, which is nowhere near where she needs to be to stop herself from turning right. She’s only got a few minutes to get half a mile away, so she begins to run.
At the intersection, Sylvia is trying to convince Donna to take the job with Chowdry. Our Donna’s busting ass to get to the intersection in time, but she can only go so fast. She knows she can’t reach the car in time to stop herself, and she remembers that Rose told her she’s going to die. She steps out in front of an oncoming truck and is hit. In the car, Donna and Sylvia see a traffic jam start to form. As she’s dying, our Donna is visited by Rose again. Rose gives her a message, and Donna dies. Back in the car, the traffic jam is enough of an excuse for Donna to turn left. All of history rewrites itself, and, back in the fortuneteller’s shop on Shan Shen, the creature falls off of Donna’s back. The fortuneteller is horrified; how could Donna be so strong? What is she? What will she become?
The Doctor arrives, and Donna embraces him. He examines the creature while Donna tries to remember what happened. Her memories of the alternate reality is slipping away. The Doc explains that the thing is part of the Trickster’s Brigade, and that it formed an entire parallel world around Donna. He points out that this is the second time this has happened; she had a life built around her in the library a few episodes ago, too. The Doctor notices there are a lot of coincidences surrounding Donna; the Doc met her, then he met her grandfather, then he met her again. It’s almost like something’s binding them together. Donna says she’s nothing special, but the Doc says she’s brilliant. That jogs Donna’s memory, and she remembers what Rose said about the coming darkness. She doesn’t know Rose’s name, but she remembers her being blonde. Donna remembers the two words Rose gave her to tell the Doctor: Bad Wolf.
The Doc runs outside, and suddenly the words Bad Wolf are all over Shan Shen, and even the words written on the front of the TARDIS have changed. Donna asks what Bad Wolf is, and the Doctor says it’s the end of the universe.
The End.
~~~~~
Man, the heavy hitters just keep coming! I don’t know if it’s because Donna’s so much more mature than the Doc’s previous companions, but this season has been so much darker than the first three I’ve covered. This wasn’t the anxiety factory that “Midnight” was, but man was this a rough one. I thought Catherine Tate really killed it with her performance this time, even if I’m starting to get a little miffed at the treatment Donna’s getting. Aside from Captain Jack and Adam, Rose and Martha both got to be the only companions during their seasons. We’re 11 episodes into Donna’s run, and Martha’s been around for three of those episodes while Rose has been popping up the whole time only to be a full on costar in this one. Let Donna have her own season!
With that out of my system, I will say that Jacqueline King’s performance was heartbreaking, even if Sylvia is by far the worst mother of a companion we’ve seen so far, and I dug the whole vibe of Shan Shen (even if the fortuneteller’s performance didn’t blow me away). The design of the creature was kind of hokey for me, but I loved the atmosphere everyone built up around it. And I love that all of this was hinted to all the way back in “The Fires of Pompeii”, when Lucius Petrus told Donna she had something on her back. I loved all of the callbacks here, and it was interesting to see how the world would cope without the Doctor to watch out for it.
I give “Turn Left” QQQQ½ on the Five Q Scale.
We’ll see you again on Tuesday when Eli will feel paternal in the next episode of The Golden Girls, “Bringing Up Baby”, and then I’ll be back on Wednesday to kick off the season finale of Doctor Who with “The Stolen Earth”.
Until then, thanks for reading, thanks for turning and thanks for being One of Us!

HENRIK LILJENQUIST—
IG info/Bio: @/adventuresbyhenrik | 53.1k followers — “imma wild boi🌿🌏🧗 | happily taken👩‍❤️‍💋‍👨
23 (24) years old
Parents are both Swedish and only speak Swedish, leaving henrik to also become fluent
His father Halvi is a pilot
His mother Lova is a race car driver
Siblings? Probably a brother, named Jahan & younger by two or three years + they get along quite well
Born & raised in Isle of Wight, England + loves it there & thinks it’s the best place for him to live, it’s his own private island in his mind plus he’s always finding something to do. He stays active
Climbing & wilderness survival instructor, he gets to talk as much as he wants while also teaching people AND all while being active! Sounds like the perfect job for him
Probably developed ADHD around his pre-teen age, leaving his parents to find him something he enjoys + can slow down and focus on
used to be on meds for it
Was well-known in high school, probably in the yearbook club since he was able to run around & get to know people but was kinda shit at knowing the functions of a camera
His selfie game has gotten a lot better now but he mostly posts anything but his face. You’ll see more of his face on his stories & location shots on his feed
Feels his hair is his best physical feature & his prized possession, would never THINK about cutting it. Even just a trim is a bit much for him
Always tries to be positive but at the same time can be condescending since he sometimes won’t pick his words wisely ex.) when he gave MC a backhanded “compliment” about makeup, being active, + wanting them to “think of others ” feelings — just because someone is opposite from you doesn’t mean you have to shit on the way they carry themselves...that’s my issue with him
maybe he’s a Taurus?
Loves fall & spring, more so fall since that’s when the weather feels nicest to him plus allergy season is a REAL bitch
The guy’s real Adventurous & always managing to find something to do. If you’re ever bored just hit him up, he has plenty of recommendations
Family owns a cottage & he’s the one who goes out there more than his own family does! “You should just sell it to me at this point!” He tells his parents over dinner often & it is strongly considered
Has five birds & a husky, when he goes on road trips they’re always with him. Which can get a little hectic at times but they’re his family, he’s a, “birdog dad”
BLAKE secretly dislikes them all, feeling like they take up space sometimes (especially when she wants to cuddle) but she deals with it since she cares for the guy — yes, they’re still dating
She’s been convincing him to cut a few inches off of his hair which he took like a slap in the face, “that’s like me asking you to quit speaking up for humans!” “No, no it’s not.”
They’re polar opposites with flaws which causes disagreements between the two of them by putting each other in their places but they learn to compromise? (*insert eartha Kitt gif laughing here*] if they want this to work
His mother seems to be the only one who dislikes blake (she strongly feels he should have bought MC back home...that’s right she watched the show from time to time. Not always since she doesn’t care for reality tv but her friends encouraged her to watch bits and pieces) while his dad and brother approve
It is tense when Blake and his mom are in the same room which makes Henrik sad since he believes Blake deserves a chance. He took a chance on her and it seems to be going pretty well so why couldn’t his mother just be happy for him like the rest of the family is?
Henrik loves his low-maintenance girls who are open to trying new things with him, Blake is usually down most of the time but she likes her personal space too..which henrik struggles to understand
He wants her to live with him, he’s sure his parents will let him have the cottage if Blake decides to live with him but Blake loves her freedom in Kingston
It’s hidden but I feel like he might be one of those guys that feels like “a woman should follow a man” since that’s what his father installed into his boys— which failed because his wife isn’t just a housewife, she has goals and went after them
I feel like Blake turns to social media almost always to post about her feelings (I can’t remember what I picked the first time around as my occupation but as I’m currently playing I picked human rights campaigner so) but it’s mostly subtle shade & it always goes recognized by fans which brings drama between her, mc x Bobby
Henrik jumps in because what kind of guy would he be if he didn’t have his gf’s back? Doesn’t care for the drama but he & Bobby usually said slick shit to each other in the villa, it’s safe to say they’re not really friends but they’re not enemies either that’s mostly between their gf/wife
Henrik doesn’t care enough about Bobby to dislike him but he won’t put up with his shit any longer and what easier way to do that than online? He feels like they can settle this with a phone call but Blake & MC aren’t with the shits and don’t want their men speaking to each other
Henrik & Bobby eventually have a chat in secret anyways
Henrik warns Blake that this can effect her job status if she doesn’t calm down since she uses social media for her cause
She usually knows when to stop but can’t help it if it slips out sometimes
They talk it out and move on usually with whatever fun idea henrik may have
Owns a ford bronco from the 90’s that used to be his uncle’s who builds tree houses for a living and is still running, a jeep gladitor, or some sort of pickup truck
Knows how to make the best apricot jam
All about saving the bees
Loves animals, probably on his journey to veganism if he’s not already there
We all know this fucking guy likes eating M0sS
“Embarrassing fact” but uh big fan of twilight, feels like Seth Clearwater and him are meant to be best buds but he also stans the Volturi 😷
Him and Lucas of course remained the best of mates, since they live 2 hrs away from each other and are always busy living their lives they always have to plan out when they can hangout but that fails 60% of the time when henrik pops up at Lucas’ job or at his flat not giving him a choice but to hang out
They’re always vacationing together too? Sure Henrik is his own version of low-key while Lucas likes a bit of luxury...they still find a balance to just have a good time regardless if they live different lifestyles...they’re basically married
Always texting if they’re not hanging out, henrik with his memes that Lucas doesn’t understand & Lucas just checking in on henrik’s well being which leads the conversation to many topics
He’s actually cool with Gary now? They like/comment on each other’s posts & even text here and there
Even ran into Rocco once on a road trip, that was interesting but when life gives you lemons...we’ll just say that
Even him and Ibrahim share recommendations through text or DM’s which is nice! Henrik is always down for friends even tho they’re not like his personal friends (except for Lucas, he fits into his criteria)
Most of his work is physical and talking but he goes the extra mile by hiking every Sunday either with his friends, Blake, or family — he’s genuinely likes being one with nature
If he’s at the cottage, he’s always outside, chopping extra wood, making sure the yard looks like it belongs on a magazine, or takes the boat out on lake to nap since he doesn’t like to fish as much anymore
Currently trying to grow strawberries but some animal keeps eating them :/
Adores adventure time, the x-files, bobs burgers + animal planet, and travel channels—like he’s a real dad
If he could shower outside everyday, he would, it’s such a freeing experience to him
His outings consist of being in the woods 24/7 so in his mind when he brings Blake out there with him, it’s a version of a date, whenever they spend time together is a date to him, which she has to remind him that she wants to do something different like getting dressed up every now and then + go out to dinner which he HATES but he’ll do his best to please her, as long as the restaurant is more earthy than snobby he’s okay
100% would survive the apocalypse, he knows how to make due with what he’s got, he’s always been that way
Enjoys rom-com’s so he’ll laugh at how cringe they are but still enjoy it, indie films, ALITA was the best film of 2019 to him & currently his fav film is, “the call of the wild” with Harrison Ford
His favorite films ever are Indiana Jones, Lara Coft: Tomb raider, Terminator, and I am legend
Aliens ARE real, they’re out there and he’ll be part of the reason they’ve been exposed
I feel like he wanted to be an astronaut growing up but then realized he’d be a confined space for long periods of time and said cancel that shit lol + he isn’t the greatest at science. History? He did real well in that subject
I think he loves Lorde, listens to Bon Iver—especially on early morning commutes to work, Rex Orange County, Omar Apollo, Joji, the nbhd, the driver era, kid cudi...yktfv
Celeb crushes?/types: The main girls from Charlie’s angels 2019, Alexa PenaVega... “you know Carmen from spy kids?” Diana silvers, Dove Cameron, JAMIE CHUNG, & VANESSA HUDGENS
Anthem = Wallows, “OK”
