I’m wondering…. how long this is gonna go for…

Really enjoyed the front half of this episode, felt good hearing the gravity in all their voices, the bitterness that commital to the cause and rage at Predathos and Ludinus, not buying anything Leliana tried to sell, then the Aeor drop and the new faction that was fucking shit up for the Cerberus/Vanguard.

Didn’t expect the swap at all and was initially, honestly pretty excited.

And what’s happening I’ve genuinely been thinking about for months, but man…I don’t think the timing for this really works out the best and I hope it doesn’t last too long, I want to get back to the aftermath of Sam’s passing. I am happy to have Dorian and Dariax back though, and the Luxon lore and Morrighan being the new Champion were interesting story-beats, but yeah, hope it doesn’t take long to get back to the regularly scheduled programming, especially since next week is Candela.

Also lost in it all is a moment I think should have gotten a bit more focus, and I hope to see art of Evoroa and Gona, the first of their kind to ever walk on Exandria, far as we are aware. That’s is so poignant, and think about it, she was freed from likely certain death out of beings up until recently she’s only seen in Dreams, and now she’s walking in her people’s version of Heaven. That’s heavy.

Okay so this ended up being a lot more than a silly doodle, but let's be real it's what Evoroa and Gona deserve. I've decided Keyleth and some other level 20s - druids or worshippers of the Wildmother - decided to magically encourage the gardens into some cross-seasonal stuff so that their moon guests can see and try a bunch of things.

Happily! This is one of the two most "front burner" WIPs which I am this close to finishing. When Bell's Hells met Gona and subsequently rescued Evoroa from the Weavemind lab in Campaign 3, I spent the few next episodes gnashing my teeth for them to get a reunion moment. It ended up happening offscreen/implied, which is understandable given how much else was happening, but I still wanted that reunion and a closer look at The Longest Day Evoroa Has Ever Had, inclusive of their arrival on Exandria. Here's a snippet of the oneshot:

She is cold.  The naturally chilly air of the too-bright engineering bay wicks heat from her drenched skin.  There are loud noises, shouts, screams.  Hands pull her again and she is moving, only partially under her own power.  There is a slight weight at her sternum. Someone is talking, urgent and raspy.  “Evoroa, Evoroa!” Her limbs are jelly, but her inner arms will always know how to hold her cytaa.  For a painful, disoriented moment, she thinks it is Moro, but the figure is smaller, leaner: Gona. Evoroa tries to speak and coughs more liquid. They are running.  She is slow, and still cold. Gona is warm on her chest.  Usually the exchange is the other way around; a fundamental aspect of their symbiosis is for Bormodo to provide heat for their cytaa.  She’d apologize for that if things were normal, but they aren’t, and they haven’t been for a long time.  Instead she is just grateful Gona is here at all. Her rescuers — their forms alien but familiar, dreamers — are asking questions, their voices loud, so loud — everything is loud.  Her head hurts.  They’re dressed like Ruby Vanguard but they can’t be, not if they’ve broken her out of the lab.  They want Evoroa to help them navigate to safety.  She knows the Colloquium of Candescence well, but the city itself not so much. Her assignments have long kept her in the lab more than out.  There is chaos, punching through buildings (?!), and a massive winged monster unlike anything Evoroa has seen, even in dreams. It’s tempting to think she is dreaming now, but her pain and terror are far too real to belong to someone else.
