Hmmm I'm not really sure if I could ever make a cohesive guide on how to animate... Because... I never learned! My process is... Think of what I want to animate -> do some sketches -> play it back in whatever program works -> if it looks good line it -> if not fix it -> yeah

So...

Don't feel intimidated by not knowing how it SHOULD look! I have no idea how it should look either! Every time I animate I just say fuck it we ball and go from there. Even if your first attempt doesn't look great, you'll get a feel for it, notice the parts you did well and the parts that you didn't, and improve from it. You'll notice the parts that look janky, toy around by tossing in a few frames, moving a few limbs, whatever- and realize eventually how it should all fit together. It just takes practice. Just go for it and no matter how long it takes or how much you stumble, if you keep at it, you'll get there eventually.
