Ok ok so I love your colossus stuff and also sadstone’s, but it got me thinking what your reader (who I kinda think of as ‘your’ character even though it’s ‘reader’) would think of Lane?

@sadstonewrites fics are fucking delicious and I have gladly and greedily devoured every single one!

(To be clear, I'm not involving Piotr in this bc I'm not gonna set up some weird love triangle smackdown, this is more just about the CHC Reader and Lane being bros.)

-Generally speaking, I think the Reader would like Lane. She'd definitely feel sorry for them and all they've gone through. I think she'd be careful to not overwhelm them or get too close into their personal space until they invite her in, but she's definitely waiting the whole time like "hi friend please let me love youuuu."

-Can you say "Bonding Over Trauma Buddies?"

-The two of them start a club with Wade called "Mentally Diseased Bitches United." There's a group chat that's five percent talking about coping strategies and the rest is just memes and talking shit about Scott Summers.

-Also, basing this off Found and Lost, she'd totally chill with them and draw butts with Lane sldfjldskfjdlskjf.

-I can see the Reader -as far as Lane's comfortable with it-trying to do for them what Wade, Nate, and everyone else did for her. She'll try to help them reintegrate with the world, take them out on short errands and drives to help the acclimate, and just generally try to be a safe place for Lane as they heal and process. The Reader absolutely knows how crucial having that safety net is, and she wants nothing more than for Lane to have the same support that she did.

-Mutants at pride, mutants at pride, MUTANTS AT PRIDE- (Provided, of course, that one's interpretation of the Reader is that she's queer.)

-I want Lane and the Reader to fight bad guys together. They'd kick so much ass as a duo.

-So, essentially: they'd be friends and the Reader would be hardcore fighting the Golden Retriever "LET ME LOVE YOUUUU" instinct until Lane's ready for her to be around.
