i posted something about taylor swift one (1) time and gods most milk toast 2010s misogyny came up on my dash talking abt the new album and i just. let’s look at the notes for a moment.
say sike rn i am begging you. what the fuck.
this is not a normal or healthy way to talk about a celebrity you don’t know because you *checks notes* aren’t a fan of their music. a musician is not an infection. they don’t deserve death or suffering because your retail job plays their music. i cannot stress this enough: celebrities are people, more importantly they are strangers
this is just so interesting because TTPD is largely about how fame is a gilded cage and actually no amount of financial security can compensate for the fact that being in the public eye makes people feel entitled to you and its destructive. Clara Bow is about how entertainment chews up and spits out young women, Who’s Afraid of Little Old Me is about how celebrities are dehumanized and mythologized, But Daddy I Love Him is about how fans feel an entitlement over celebrity’s personal lives, I Can Do It With A Broken Heart is about not being allowed to publicly display emotions that contradict the image you’re expected to have.
y’all are the problem, and you’re too up your own asses to notice.
#everyone should look into casey mcquiston’s very public journey from ts hater to swifie#they realized they hadn’t unpacked their internalized misogyny or dealt with their gender dysphoria and TS was a safe place to project#and then became a swiftie
