â INCORRECT QUOTES â
Bringing back an old tag game!!!
Rule: use this generator to create âincorrect quotesâ for your wip
(I feel legally obligated to post something actually about Faerie's Dawn today and I want to meme these idiots lmao)
Cloud:Â Tell me a little about yourself. Nova:Â I'd rather not, I really like this group.
Nova:Â I hate when people ask me, 'What did you do today?' Buddy, listen, I woke up at noon and then it was five pm, okay? I don't KNOW!
Nova:Â I will be using so much pink youâll be seeing green by the end from sensory deprivation.
Sky:Â You're violent. Nova:Â Yeah but I'm also short and that's adorable.
Nova: Wanna get out of here and grab a bite to eat? Sky: I donât usually eat with losers. Nova: Neither do I but I asked you, didnât I?
Nova:Â Branch, youâre in charge! Sky:Â Branch, can we start a fire?
[while waiting outside the principalâs office] Nova:Â What are you in for? Cloud:Â Oh, they just want to know if itâs cool if I miss my classes tomorrow to run sound and lights for a presentation in the auditorium. What about you? Nova:Â I stabbed a kid with a screwdriver. Cloud: Cloud: Cloud:Â We live very different lives. Nova:Â Yes, we do.
Branch:Â Be careful about succumbing to these sorts of destructive... urges. Addiction can be a powerful thing. Nova:Â So am I. Bow down before your new supreme overlord, bitches.
Nova:Â When I get Doordash I order 20 Cheeseburgers at a time and heat them up throughout the week so that I donât have to pay the delivery fee multiple times. Branch:Â I hope you understand how food poisoning works. Nova:Â I hope food poisoning understands how I work. I've never met a burger I couldnât eat.
Nova:Â Branch's amazing at concentrating. Once he starts reading, the only way heâll notice you is if you take his book away. Not even if you hit him or shake him! Sky:Â That was him ignoring you.
Sky, at Nova's funeral:Â I need a moment with them. Everyone else at the funeral:Â Of course. [leaves] Sky, leaning over Nova's coffin:Â Okay, listen here you little shit. I know youâre not dead. Nova, sitting up in the coffin:Â Yeah, no shit.
Sky:Â I hope you have an explanation for this. Cloud:Â We have three, actually! Nova:Â Pick your favorite.
Cloud:Â I bet youâre wondering why I gathered you here today. Itâs because we need to have a discussion about how some people in this room arenât getting along with other people in this room. Sky:Â Why did you say that so vaguely? Nova and I are literally the only people you called in here.
Sky:Â I love sarcasm! Itâs like punching people in the face, but with words!
Sky:Â [trying to buy a Father's Day card at Hallmark] Sky:Â Excuse me, do you have any that just say "You are my dad?" Associate:Â Well, I- Sky:Â How about "You banged my mom?" Associate:Â No... Sky:Â You know what, I'll just get a blank one. Sky:Â [writes] You are a father. This is a day. Here is a card.
Cloud:Â You gave me up, you let me down, you turned around, and deserted me. Sky:Â But did I make you cry? Cloud:Â [cries on the spot] Sky:Â ... shit.
Sky:Â We wouldnât last two minutes without Nova. Sky: Sky:Â Donât tell them I said that.
Cloud:Â What language do they speak at the center of the earth? Cloud:Â Core-ean! Sky:Â The center of the earth is around 5430 degrees Celsius! Nobody is going to live there, so they donât need a language! Cloud:Â Core-ean.
Cloud:Â You know, itâs fine to admit you were wrong. Sky:Â [sipping his drink after accidentally adding salt] I just like the way it tastes.
Branch:Â I never tell people off the bat that I'm gay. I wait. I wait until they say some homophobic shit and then I laugh and am like "you know I'm gay, right?" and watch the look of terror on their face. Sky: Sky:Â I like you.
Shade:Â Can you recommend a book that'll make me cry? Sky:Â General Mathematics 8th Grade Edition.
Shade:Â We have a problem. Branch:Â No, YOU have a problem. I have an idiot who keeps making them.
Shade:Â What the fuck. Shade:Â ESPN is showing 2003 national jump rope championship. Shade:Â Who the hell watches jump rope competiti- ooh bouncy!
Shade:Â A pessimist sees a dark tunnel. Cloud:Â An optimist sees light at the end of the tunnel! Branch:Â A realist sees a freight train. Sky:Â The train driver sees three idiots standing on the tracks.
Achilles:Â Weâll find another route, itâs not safe for amateur adventurers. Nova:Â That sounds like a challenge. Achilles:Â I have to stress, that is not a challenge. Nova:Â ... Is exactly what you say to dissuade the weak of heart from accepting the challenge. Well, challenge accepted! Achilles:Â There is no challenge!
Achilles:Â Okay, how do I look? Be honest. Cloud:Â Thereâs no critic more honest than Sky! Sky:Â Bad.
Achilles:Â We all have our demons. Achilles, grabbing Shade:Â This oneâs mine.
Eve:Â Asa, donât go picking a fight with Ailwyn. Donât forget, theyâre powerful, they could make life difficult for you. Asa:Â Wow, I wonder what it'd be like to have a difficult life.
Asa:Â Quitting! It's like trying, but easier!
Asa:Â If I fall down these stairs, I'm just going to lay down and accept my fate.
Asa:Â [walks into the kitchen, ignoring everyone] Eve:Â Hey, Asa, how was your day? Asa:Â [picks up an onion and bites into it, staring at Nova] Hell. Eve, watching this unfold:Â (whispers) Who hurt you?
Eve:Â What's worse than a heartbreak? Shade:Â Waking up in the morning and your phone wasn't charging. Branch:Â Waking up in the morning. Asa:Â Waking up.
Shade: Which one of you was going to tell me that tea tastes different if you put it in hot water?? Cloud: Y-you were putting it in cold water?? Sky: Shade. Answer the question, Shade. Shade: Yeah??? I thought people just put it in hot water to speed up the tea-ification process. didn't realize there was an actual reason. Shade: Plus you think I have the patience to boil water? Cloud: You don't have the patience to microwave water for 3 minutes?? Sky: Why are you putting it in the microwave to boil it? Cloud: Do you think I have the patience to boil water on the stove? Sky: It takes less than a minute. Cloud: Is your stovetop powered by the fucking sun??? Sky: How long does it take you to boil a cup of water on the stove? Cloud: Like seven minutes?? Nova: Just stick the mug on top of the stove on medium heat and it boils in like 2 minutes... less than that if you use a saucepan! Sky: Why are you putting the whole mug on the stove?? On medium heat?? Nova? Your stove is enchanted! Shade: Every single person here is a fucking lunatic. Branch: Do none of you own a fucking kettle?!
[during a group project] Branch:Â [does 99% of the work] Cloud:Â [has no idea whatâs going on] Nova:Â [says theyâre gonna help but does not] Sky:Â [disappears at the very beginning and doesnât show up again until the very end]
Just a silly thing I felt like I had to make lol.

Please Please Please (Mom! Reader x Batfam)
Don't prove I'm right~ I love that song so much. Anyways! Not extreme Yandere, but part 2 will have some. This is just the setting up for it. Also, while writing I won't lie, I forgot about Damien, so he will have a lot of showtime in the next part. FYI
TW: Cheating, slapping (Reader slaps Bruce), Reader also throws something at Bruce.
In now way do I condone partner violence. no matter how mad you get, you should never hit or throw something at your partner.
In case you have never heard this song before, first of all who are you? Secondly here is the link

Y/N had put her life on pause for Bruce and his hero complex. She is a top-model. A supermodel that is still being asked to do photoshoots, make guest appearances, and dominate the runway despite her time away from it. The strict workout regime was still her daily exercise, and she still was conscious of what she ate. Age had not affected her the way it has to some of her friends because Y/N lived to be a model.Â
Yet, she had put that on the backburner for her husband and kids. She forced her attention onto the scarred and vibrant children that her traumatized husband brought in like strays. Y/N raised them, alongside Alfred. Itâs because of them that their sons and daughters did not turn out as crooked as Bruce Wayne. A man that was full of jagged and sharp pieces, piercing the skin of whoever got close.Â
E/C eyes rolled nearly out her socket, taking a sip of the morning coffee and waiting for her youngest to come down. She ignored the nervous glances being sent her way from her sons, and instead pulled out her phone to look for a familiar contact.Â
âNone of you have anything I need to be here for, do you?â Tim and Jason quickly shook their heads, and Dick gave a nervous smile, âNot really⌠although it would be nice if you stayed here though.â Y/N raised a delicate eyebrow, and a sharp smile formed on her lips as she pressed âcall,â âAh, donât worry Dickie, Iâll come back. Iâm just going on a trip.âÂ
The person answered, and before they could start spewing curses, Y/N greeted them, âHey, Jackie! Itâs Y/N.âÂ
âY-Y/N! Whatâs going on?âÂ
âRemember those gigs you were telling me about?âÂ
âYeah?âÂ
âBook them.â The boys stood up while her manager on the other line sputtered in excitement, âReally?! Oh my gosh Y/N this is so exciting! Which ones do you want? I know you want to stay close to Gotham -heaven knows why- but I can find some in-âÂ
âAll of them.âÂ
â...what?âÂ
âBook all of them.â Jackie hummed, âSome are out of the country though.âÂ
âEven better! Pack your bags Jackie, we are gonna be gone for a while. Bring Stella too, Iâll pay for both of your tickets and lodgings.â Jackie was stuttering, âThe-the first gig in a week is Venice, Italy! Is that enough time for you to-âÂ
âLet's leave tonight.âÂ
âTonight?!â Everyone screeched, and Y/N gave her sons an annoyed look, âYes, tonight. Let's enjoy Venice like when we were young, and show Stella around. Iâm sure the two of you could use a vacation anyways.âÂ
â....Y/N, is everything okay?âÂ
âPeachy. See you tonight.â Y/N hung up, and threw her phone on the opposite end of the couch, continuing to sip her cup of coffee as the news reporter continued to talk about Batman and his risky rendezvous with Catwoman. The perfect love story.Â
The pursuer and the pursued. The cop and robber. Batman, the man of justice, and Catwoman, a thief.Â
Her jaw clenched, and her fingers tightened around the handle of the mug. The air around her was full of jitters and Dick was basically vibrating with worry, Jason focused intensely on his phone, and Tim was drinking even more coffee.Â
âUm, mom, are you⌠is thisâŚâ Dick was fumbling, trying to find the words, and Y/N smiled, âCâmon on Dickie. Itâs been a while since I went on the runway, or even in front of a camera outside of Gotham. Youâre all old enough now, itâs fine.âÂ
âWhat about Dami?â Y/N smiled sadly, âDami will be fine. Hell, today Iâll have him help me choose the jewelry and clothes that I will be packing.â
âYouâre gonna have him help you pack your bags to leave?â Tim wondered, and Y/N flinched out how terrible that sounded, âNot like that. Itâs a trip. A fashion trip and a girls trip.â Jason scrunched his nose, âMa, fucking Bruce just go caught cheating and was broadcasted across the NEWs, and youâre now leaving for a trip. Do you think Dami will understand that?âÂ
Y/N took a sip of her coffee, âHe will. Itâll be a conversation but it will be reiterated as many times as he needs to hear it. Plus, itâs not like you guys canât call me.â Damien came stomping down the stairs, dressed in the Gotham Academy Uniform, and Y/N threw on a smile that would have had actresses crying, âDami! I need your help today, so nevermind school.â Green eyes blinked in shock, his gaze taking in every one in the room before landing back on her, âAre you needing my assistance in packing?âÂ
âOnly for a trip. So thereâs no need to pack everything.â Damien nodded, âFine. I will assist you. You have an abysmal amount of jewelry and some of them are simply deplorable.â Y/N chuckled, âThanks Dami.â He went back up the stairs to change, and Y/N turned back to the NEWs where they were finally talking about something different.Â
Sighing, Y/N stood up from the couch, âIâll be in my room packing if anyone needs anything.â Silence followed her, and once she was out of earshot, Dick proceeded to panic even more.Â
+++
Sheâs in Greece now. After spending a week in Italy, a week in Iceland, two weeks in France, and now four days in Zakynthos, Greece, she knows her vacation time is limited. Y/N has been using Bruceâs card to pay for the three luxury hotel rooms, one for herself (obviously), Jackie, and Stella. Sheâs used them for the plane flight in first class, the first class train ride, the yacht to get to this island, the fancy dinners, shopping sprees, any time that she needed to put money down she was using his card.Â
Bruce is a billionaire, he doesnât care and Y/N is also a billionaire, but this is her way of being petty. Why would she waste her money?Â
A delicate eyebrow raised at the man in the mirror, followed by two of their sons and a butler dressed in a Hawaiian shirt.Â
âLady Y/N, it is great to see you.âÂ
âHey Alfie, vacation looks good on you. I highly recommend the mimosaâs here, none of them have been bad.âÂ
âHi Ma, you look relaxed.â Jason walked further into the room, taking a seat on the plush chair and grabbing a grape, and tossing some to Dick. Their oldest son smiled and waved, âCâmon mom, I know youâve been here before, but you could at least try and look like a tourist.â Y/N rolled her eyes, smiling lovingly and flicking her hair over her shoulder. She leaned close to the mirror again, rubbing sunscreen on her face and massaging it into her skin.Â
Her husband made his way a little closer as the family spread out in the room. Jason sitting in the chair, Dick on the bed, and Alfred standing near the door. Y/N sneered at Bruce through the mirror, âBringing the kids to see you get humiliated is something I would have never thought youâd do.âÂ
Bruce sighed heavily, and Y/N wiped her hands on the towel and sipped her mimosa. Piercing blue eyes, filled with exhaustion and guilt, met hers, âY/N, how much longer are you scheduled for?âÂ
âHmm, for a while Bruce,â She pretended to think, âAfter all, Iâve been wanting to get back into modeling now that most of the kids are becoming independent, and what better way to announce to the world that I am back than a hard launch.â Bruce raised an eyebrow at her, âWill it be my card youâll continue to use.â
âOf course! It's the least my darling, idiotic, and hormone-rivaling-a-teenager husband can do after that stunt, right?â The room got colder and Dick sat up straighter at the tension between his two parental figures. Y/N has always had a sharp tongue and quick wit, one she used on Bruce a lot. Rarely ever was it aimed to be hurtful though.Â
âY/N, temper.â Dickâs jaw opened and Jason made an exaggerated gasp. Alfred looked pained as Y/N whirled around and seethed at Bruce, âTemper? Temper?! Who the hell are you to tell me to watch my temper when you canât even control your own hormones?Â
âIf you wanted to see my temper you just had to fucking say so!â Dick turned to Alfred, trying to see if there was anything he could do, but at the resigned look the man gave him, the oldest son choked on a noise, âThis is a new side of mom.âÂ
âLady Y/N has always had a temper, one that rivals Master Bruce.â She looked like a puffed up cat while Bruce was cowing like a dog with puppy eyes, âWhen they were younger, she would put even the adults in their place.â Her hand grabbed the now cold coffee pot, and Dick feels like it was only because Bruce was used to stuff being thrown at him and catching things that he was able to grab the projectile before it landed on the walls and carpet. Alfred raised a brow, âSometimes that temper bleeds into other things.âÂ
Their mother was seething in front of Bruce, looking like a bull and was ready to charge into a china shop. While Bruce may not be as delicate as one, Dick has money on Y/N still doing a lot of damage if she were to charge. Metaphorically and physically. Â
âY/N, please.â Bruce tried again, only to see her get more angry. His hands were up in a placating manner, and Y/N held her own hands tense and ready to swing if he came closer.Â
âY/N, it genuinely was an accident.âÂ
â âit genuinely was an accidentâââ She mocked, purposefully making her voice annoying â-fuck off! Like your tongue going down her throat is an accident. Didnât know that could happen!â Y/N looked around again for something to chuck, while Bruce closed the space between them inch by inch.Â
âWhatâs next? Are you going to trip and accidentally find yourself between her legs with your pants down?â Jason and Dick blanched at the imagery.Â
âOver a decade of marriage, of me playing the perfect ex-model-arm-candy wife for Bruce Wayne just for you dressed in a fucking furry suit to go and makeout with another fucking furry!Â
âLike! I know we werenât in this for love, but there. Are. Still. Standards!â She enunciated each word with a swat of her hand on Bruceâs shoulder.Â
âI still have standards! You donât see me making out with anyone else do you? Even as Iâm playing Supermodel Y/N, dressed to the millions and making everyone drool, I donât go making out with them!âÂ
âHow could Batman, of all personaâs you wish to play, do that? I expected that from Brucie, not Batman, defender of Justice or whatever bullshit you spew when dressed in that gothic suit.âÂ
Bruce sighed, âY/N, it was bad timing.â He gave her a hard look, âJustice and this are different. You cannot compare the two.â The man knew he messed up once the words left his mouth and he closed his eyes in regret.Â
Jason saw the slap coming and he braced himself for the impact it would have. Bruce didnât catch it, despite him being fully capable of it, and when it landed everyone winced at the sound and the red mark.Â
âWell this is my justice. Now go away. I have a photoshoot to get ready for and you are just pissing me off!â The hand print was immaculate. One that had Jason biting back a laugh and Dick looking horrified. Y/N whirled back around to face her vanity, where all her jewelry laid on the surface, and her attention was focused back on picking which one would go with her outfit to the shoot.Â
Jason whistled when Bruce turned around to face his kids and Butler, âGood hit Ma. You should hit the other side to even it out.â Y/N gave a laugh, picking up the pearl earrings encased with gold, and she continued to pick out a necklace.Â
âJay, help me out here please.â Rough hands replaced herâs, and green eyes met furious E/C though the mirror. Using the safety of her sonâs larger frame to hide herself, Y/N slowly let herself crumble a little bit. Jason could see the anger, hurt, and sadness that was slowly turning the sclera red from holding back tears. There was a subtle shake in her shoulders and the trembling of lips, but Y/N held it together. She was holding onto it by the seams, desperately waiting for the man causing her pain to be gone.Â
When the gold clasped, Y/N reached over for her large hat and sunglasses, âEnjoy the beach. Alfie, you especially should enjoy this vacation. Donât let this stupid, untrustworthy, and manwhore of a furry disrupt it.â With that, she slammed her hotel room door on her way out, and they all listened as her heels clicked down the hall until they were out of ear shot.Â
Alfred glanced at his ward, âWell, I am not one for violence when there are disputes between partners, but I will say that one slap was well deserved, Master Bruce.â The man sighed, slightly rubbing his cheek, âI think the last time she hit me that hard was when we were in grade school.âÂ
âShe put all her body weight into that.â Dick glanced at the hand print, âWoah, I think you can see the ring too.â Jason whistled, and Bruce closed his eyes and took deep breaths to keep himself steady, reflecting on the conversation and where exactly he messed up.Â
âI think this is the third time sheâs slapped meâŚâÂ
âFourth, sir.â Bruce nodded, remembering the third time. Jason raised an eyebrow, âI only know of the time you were both 6, and you said something mean so she hit you.â Dick pouted, âI know of the one in Middle School, when you were once accused of touching her butt.âÂ
Alfred raised a brow, âThe third time was when she dropped you off at the manor after a long night of drinking and youââÂ
âThanks Alfred, thereâs no need to tell that story.â Bruceâs cheeks were now flushed from embarrassment rather than the slap on his cheek. Y/N truly has seen him through it all. When he got into fights in school, it was always her eyes he sought out after each one. Bored E/C eyes, framed by thick lashes and elegant eyeliner, always watching with a blank expression. Bruce Wayne rarely phased Y/N L/N. When he was younger, he noticed how his last name made people stumble or stutter when talking to him, allowing him to say whatever he wanted. It did nothing to Y/N, who met his gaze and taunts head on with her own witty comebacks that stuck at parts of Bruce that had him fumbling.Â
He can remember his dad, Thomas Wayne, laughing when he caught Y/Nâs sly comeback directed at Bruce after he said something about her dress. Y/Nâs own parents looked mortified.Â
Y/N L/N-Wayne was a flame that never wavered. Itâs what made her successful at modeling, and a supermodel in her first two years. That flame is what had photographers, stylists, fashion designers, and make up artists still call her up, begging for her to come back. A force of nature that had only paused for Bruce and their children.Â
âCâmon, Y/N. Even you can see the benefits of this.â The woman raised her brow at a younger Bruce, who was smiling at her.Â
âYour life does not pause, and now with the Wayne name as yours, your options are endless.âÂ
âAnd what about you?âÂ
âThis means I no longer have to play as a playboy in public and everyone will stop asking me to marry them or their daughters.â Y/N laughed, âNah, youâll still get them. Theyâll just now be whispered behind closed doors.âÂ
Bruce smiled, âThe standards of a regular marriage will still apply. Obviously not the sex part or anything, but everything else will. Think of it like living with roommates.
âThis will work for the both of us, Y/N.â The woman smiled into the rim of her cup, red lips leaving an imprint on the glass.Â
It took him five tries for her to finally agree. There might have been some manipulation on his side of things, but he got that ring on her finger, and 2 months later she was walking down the aisle in a wedding dress that was deemed âThe Dress of the Century.â She was beautiful, even more so than usual.Â
Dick glanced at him, âSo, whatâs the plan?â Bruce sighed, âJust make sure she doesnât get hurt.âÂ
++++
It took 4 months for Y/N to come back to the manor. Within those 4 months, one of them were always with her. Switching off when they hit a new city, and each one had tried their charm on having her come back to the mansion. Bruce was going crazy, therefore Batman was more brutal than usual, and that the meant the other birds had to pick up the slack when it came to emotions. Bruce had all but shut down every other part that wasnât Batman.Â
However, nothing returned to normal once she was back. Her and Bruce were rarely in each otherâs presence, and she refused to see or do anything about Batman. Y/N was trying to remove herself from Bruce Wayne completely, and no one liked that.Â
Bruce and Y/N may claim that they were never in love, and that they only married for convenience. However, Dick will always remember watching Bruce and Y/N dancing in the main hall of the manor. He was hanging onto the chandelier, not yet noticed by either, as a song began playing and they both began dancing.Â
They had been dressed in casual clothes, which consisted of dark blue jeans and nice tops and shoes. Dickâs young eyes watched as the two of them swayed and twirled around each other, Y/N laughing at the whispered words Bruce would share, and the stern man relaxing for the duration of the time.Â
They were far from the perfect couple. Their parenting styles were different, and it took a while for Y/N to warm up to Dick. She was never cold or malicious, but just like Dick and everyone else, she was lost. However, it was her awkward arms he sought after when he had a bad day, or when Bruce got on his nerves. It was her eyes he always seeked approval for.Â
When she caught him hastily packing, dying to get away from the man that had his rules tighter than the Robin suit, she helped. Y/N had folded his clothes, snuck a bottle of Smirnoff and Titos into his luggage, because moving required at least two bottles of alcohol, and she hugged him goodbye.Â
Every member of this family has a memory tied to Y/N. A gentle one.Â
Damian had kind memories, where Y/N smiled at him for no reason. She did not expect perfection, and one time she stated how she wished Damian would fail sometimes. It was something that had him seething and jumping to defend himself, but Y/N laughed, âFailure is our best teacher, Damian. What better time to fail then when you knwo you have people willing to help you up?âÂ
Jason remembers peeking on Y/N when he was younger. Watching through the cracks of the door as she and Bruce swayed to music, laughed at old memories, or simply sat around each other and read a book. Sometimes, heâd catch her trying on her jewelry, or reorganizing her perfume. Every now and then she would go through her closet and donate clothes she no longer wanted or needed.Â
He watched how Dick, would seek her out whenever he and Bruce argued. When Jason finally allowed himself to be wrapped in those armsâ arms that always had Bruce looking ready to sacrifice everything, that had Dick relaxing, and Alfred smiling endearinglyâ and he can see why they did so. It's different from Bruce, because Bruce makes you feel protected. In Bruceâs arms, Jason knows that there is almost nothing that can harm him.Â
In Y/Nâs embrace, Jason feels at peace. Thereâs no need to worry about protection because heâs in a place that does not need it. When he dances with Y/N, to their song nonetheless, there is nothing that can ever disrupt the moment. Y/N stares at him with adoration, just how she does with Dick, only her attention is on him. Him! A street rat from Dowry, Crime Alley, and he has the attention of the woman that is Bruceâs equal in the highest social circles.Â
Those soft E/C eyes, that always stared at them with warmth and love, stared back at him through the mirror. He and Tim, because Timmy loved her just as much as he did, watched as Y/N emptied another glass of the Rose, and how the exhaustion from all the shows, photoshoots, flashing cameras, and the ordeal with Bruce seeped into her bones.Â
âHey Ma, let's get some sleep.â Jason walked closer, carefully minding the scattered jewelry that looked more expensive than any of his weapons, and Tim, who was forever on the same wavelength as Jason, scampered over to the large bed and lit the diffuser.Â
Y/N hummed, running her hands through her hair, before tilting her head back and looking at Jason once more, âYou both shouldnât be here. I can handle this myself.â Y/N never liked it when any of the kids saw her less than presentable. She was always dressed in nice clothes, with nice jewelry, and makeup even at the manor. It's one of the worries of being a model, she had told Dick, always scared that the nosey paparazzi will catch you at your worst and share it with an even crueler audience.Â
Jason had once confided in her about Willis Todd, and how he hated it when she drank in front of him. Whether it was scotch or champagne.Â
After that, Y/N always drank in her room.Â
The thing is, that Jason knows Y/N wouldnât ever hurt him. Sheâs not like Willis who purposefully seeked out to hurt someone smaller. Jason knows that no matter how mad she got at him, she wouldnât do anything (unlike what she would do to Bruce).
This is why, despite all the trauma he has with alcohol and people being intoxicated, he can confidently move the bottle away and the glass. Noting how both were empty.Â
Tim strolled over, and gave a small smile through the mirror, âIâll brush your hair, Mom. Then you should sleep.â Y/N tried to wave him off, âDonât bother. I can do it myself. You both should go.â She sluggishly reached out for the vintage decorated paddle brush, only for Tim to snatch it before she could.Â
âI want to do it. Besides, if it bothers you, think of it as me returning the favor.â The confused look Y/N gave him had him smiling patiently as he stood behind her and gently began to brush the locks of hair. Y/N sighed, âThis is embarrassing. My kids should not be taking care of me.âÂ
âIâm an adult.âÂ
âCEO of Wayne Enterprises as well. Taking care of you when you are in a low spot is the least I could do.â Lord knows how many times Y/N has cared for them at their lowest. When Tim believed that Bruce was stuck in the Time Stream, Y/N didnât seem all that confident in it, but she still believed him and helped him narrow down locations. She kept the press busy while he went out and searched.Â
He heard later that she refused to talk to Dick when she found out they wanted to put Tim in Arkham. She shook her head in disappointment when Dick told her that Damien is now Robin. Tim always thought Dick was a bit stupid on that part. Parading Damien, a child from another woman, around and in front of Y/N nonetheless. Yes, thankfully Y/N warmed up to Damien and vice versa (although for Damien it took longer), but that could have gone bad in so many ways.Â
âStill my kids.â Jason pulled a chair next to her, so they could all be in the view of the mirror, and in a rare show of affection that is only reserved for Alfred and Y/N, he rested his head on her shoulder as Tim continued to work the brush carefully through her hair. Y/Nâs shoulders sagged and her back hunched a bit, and for the first time in a while, Y/N let herself look how she felt. Exhausted. Utterly and completely exhausted.Â
Tim can see the dark circles under her red rimmed eyes, and the way her skin looked duller than usual. Granted, she finished a long gig, working tirelessly for months posing, getting dressed up, and traveling around the world to forget Bruceâs infidelity.Â
âStandards,â she said in response to his excuse. Tim isnât stupid to believe that neither Bruce or Y/N have feelings for the other. Heâs seen it. It's in the way that Bruce concedes in arguments, or the flowers and necklaces he buys her when heâs apologetic, how the harsh glare that was directed at Tim when he first became Robin eased the moment Y/N pulled the boy close to her. Acting as a shield and sword for him.Â
Her message was clear, and Bruce decided to read it.Â
Y/N on the other hand lessened Bruceâs stress when he was CEO, the breaks from brooding to dance in the main hall to their song, or even acting as the sound of reason for him. She keeps him tethered to Earth, never letting his thoughts stray too far from reality.Â
They may not be in love, but they still liked each other. Enough so that Bruce went along with her whims, just how she does with him. Enough so for Bruce to chase her across the world. Looking at it, perhaps Bruce was the one in love.Â
âJason, can you pass me the scrunchie?â He grabbed the silk scrunchie from large hands, and began braiding his momâs hair.Â
âYou guys are being so silly,â Y/N huffed, and Jason beamed at her, giving her a boyish smile that he never shows anymore, âAnything for ya, Ma.â She subtly shook her head, a smile on her face as she looked back into the mirror.Â
âIs this still about Bruce?â Tim kept his eyes on the braid, but from the tension in her shoulders, he hit the jackpot. Y/N brought her hand up to rub her forehead, âThat idiotâŚâÂ
âJoin the club, Ma.â Y/N took a deep breath, âHeâs so stupid. Itâs one thing to kiss another woman, which is fine. Do what you want to do, itâs not like we married for love.â A glare formed on her face, âBut to get caught is another thing. Fucking idiot, he can only think with his hormones like a teenager. Even Dami isnât like that, thank god.âÂ
Tim tied off the braid with the silk scrunchie, watching Y/N get heated again, âI hate him.â Except it was said with no bite, and the way Y/Nâs lip wobbled had Tim hearing other words alongside the ones she mumbled. Jason leaned into her, offering her comfort while Tim watched from the reflection in the mirror.
Y/N to Tim was what Janet Drake had failed to be. He learned a lot from both of them, and it helped that both women were huge players in their social circles and socialites. They both taught him how to play with peopleâs perception of someone. Only Janet taught him to keep a straight face and not show emotion, while Y/N taught him that with a correct smile and a well placed chuckle, someone can be eating out of the palm of their hands. Both women approached the world with different weapons and tools, and both women used and taught them to him.Â
Only Y/N also knew when it was time to put down the mask and become a reliable person for Tim, while Janet continued to only be Janet to Tim.Â
He loves them both. Except, with Y/N he felt that if she were to ever leave him the way Janet did then he would have no choice but to follow and bring her back. Wherever Y/N goes, Tim will follow.Â
âBoys.â Jason and Tim snapped their attention to the door, and Bruce was standing there, menacingly longingly. His face in an unusual expression, but one heâs worn a lot throughout the time Y/N was gone. An expression all the boys have gotten to know. Tim escaped, saying goodnight to both parental figures, before leaving for the cave.Â
Jason pecked Y/Nâs cheek, whispering good night and glaring at Bruce, âDonât fuck this up old man.â To which Bruce sighed and nodded, closing the door after Jason. For the first time in months, it was just Y/N and Bruce. Alone with each otherâs company and Bruce knows that if she could, sheâd probably be strangling him right now.Â
With great hesitancy, one that he could never show as Batman, he sat on the bed about a foot away from her.Â
âI paused my life for you.â Y/N glared into blue eyes, âI paused almost everything, for you. For your mission. For the children you brought into our home, without asking me about it beforehand, may I remind you. I love them, and donât you dare twist that, but I would have liked to have been consulted about it first.â Y/N didnât want to be a mother. It was never in the cards for her, and yet here she is having more children than she had ever dreamt of.Â
She loves them. Sheâd die and kill for them, but they were never in the cards of life she wanted dealt to her.Â
âI paused so much, just for you to go and.. And⌠and do that.â Bruce winced at that, and Y/N felt happy that he did. Gritting her teeth, Y/N turned her attention to look at the fire. The heat of it reminds her of her own rage and the coldness she feels when in the presence of Bruce.Â
Sighing heavily, she closed her eyes and bit back a groan, âAnd once I start getting my life started again, having fun, going on the runway and magazines, here you come storming back.âÂ
âYou looked like you needed the break.â Y/N shook her head, âDid you know, that that is one of your worst habits. Always making yourself out to be the hero.â She took a glass of wine and watched the liquid swirl in the glass, âOf course, you let me have that moment. Of course you were thinking of me, and my happiness. How kind of you.âÂ
Bruce sighed, watching her sip the alcohol that left a red stain on her lips. He can remember the first time he saw her in red lipstick. Shockingly, it was in-person and the red made her skin look warm and teeth appear even whiter despite the knowledge that red lipstick can make your teeth look yellower. It was a beautiful shade, matched by her dress.Â
She was beautiful. Breathtakingly so. Even as time progressed and she and he got older, Y/N remained beautiful. Defying the laws time and age as she remained ethereal. Unfairly so.Â
Bruce had wanted to preserve that beauty, in the same way that many tried to preserve the flowers from the garden and the expensive smelling perfume. He wanted nothing more than for Y/N to continue smiling and for the fire to remain bright.Â
To do that, he had to stay away. He could not allow himself to love her, because if he fell then he would drag her through the mud with him. Yet, here he is on the other side of that cold look, one that had him hesitating. That kiss with Selena was terrible timing all around. She had caught him in a moment of weakness, and someone just so happened to be there at the worst moment to catch it all.Â
Staying away proved to be ineffective when here she is drinking wine with red-rimmed eyes and anger in her brows.Â
âThis marriage was never one for love, but there are standards. Ones we talked about beforehand.âÂ
âI know.â Y/N pursed her lips, tilting her head to the left and watching Bruce with distrustful eyes. The man sighed heavily and he sat in front of her, taking his own glass and pouring himself some wine. He didnât like this type of wine, and from the very small scrunch in her nose Y/N didnât like it either.Â
The more he stared at her, taking in her still youthful features and eyes that burned bright, the more he could feel his emotions rising to the surface. Feelings and emotions he long tried to bury, but never quite succeeded. He had hoped that kissing Selena would just prove that he is only missing her as a sexual partner, and it only confirmed for him that he was in love with her.Â
He is in love with Y/N L/N-Wayne. His kids are in love with Y/N. Alfred loves Y/N. The whole Wayne family, extended and all, are in love with this woman. This woman has nothing to do with their vigilantism, but instead reminds them that they are also normal and exist outside of masks and costume. That they are human and not shadows of the night.Â
That they are the Wayne family.Â
God, he loves her so much. So much. She is his weakness, his strength, his everything. The fancy cufflinks that are only brought out for special occasions, the expensive wine cracked open for celebrations, the pearl earring worn for the best performances. Y/N is the treasure of the Wayne family.Â
Carefully, he wrapped an arm around her waist, slowly inching his way around her, testing the waters to see if she would shake him off or hiss at him. When there was no sign of that, he tightened his hold only slightly and pressed his forehead into her shoulder, gently laying a kiss on the joint, âLike I said, it was an accident. She caught me at a bad time, and I wasnât expecting her to do that.âÂ
Y/N released a heavy sigh, and Bruce hugged her tighter, âI swear. It wasnât consensual.â She rubbed her forehead, and Bruce watched how the lines slowly faded and melted back into her skin. Y/N never wore exhaustion well, which was why on mornings she had early photoshoots, she would sleep in her room instead of Bruceâs. She always woke up when he would stalk in and climb under the sheets with her.Â
âPlease, Y/N. Give me a chance. Let me take care of you the way you should be.â Y/N chuckled at that, âCareful Bruce, keep saying stuff like that and I might start to believe you have feelings for me.â Ice blue met E/C, and Y/N hesitated for a moment. Something chilling going down her spine, âI guess, I should start saying it more often then.âÂ
âBruceâŚâ He pecked her cheek, careful of the fire he was playing with, and carefully watching her reactions. His arms encircled her tighter, and he kissed her shoulder. Bruce watched, and observed how the tension slowly left her and reluctant acceptance came across her face. His arms tightened, and Bruce fought back a smile.Â
âEver the charmer,â She mumbled. Bruce huffed a laugh, and Y/N shook her head, âIf I catch you with your mouth on anyone elseâs but mine, Iâm going to sick the kids on you.â An image of four rabid dogs, followed by a few more, filled his mind. Bruce grimaced as he remembered the tongue lashing he got from everyone, âNoted.âÂ
Y/N chuckled, and Bruce smiled, throwing his weight back on the pillows, bringing Y/N with him. His arms still tight around her waist, and a promise on his lips.Â
âIâll never let you go again.âÂ

Moments caught between Harry and Y/n on camera at the Brits
just something fun because harry at the brits was a mess but we love him for it!
Young Dad! Harry Styles x Young Mom! Reader Masterlist
The red carpet is loud and raucous, bright lights flashing as people shout for the attention of celebrities. One couple in particular is the center of attention the second they step on the carpet.
Harry Styles and a woman walk arm-in-arm, a broad grin on his face and a shy smile on hers. Harry seems to be whispering something in the woman's ear, his nose pressed against the crown of her head. It makes her visibly relax, her grin widening and becoming more authentic as they take a couple more steps.
The woman is the recently revealed Y/n Styles, Harry Styles' long-time partner that he'd somehow kept from the rest of the world for over a decade. But she was here tonight, just as she had been at the Grammys a couple weeks ago, and the cameras now track their every move, intrigued by this new-ish couple.
"Harry! Harry! Harry, over here!"
"Y/n!"
"Harry, did you really marry Y/n when you were in One Direction?"
"Y/n, how does it feel to be with the most famous man in music?"
Y/n, who's hard to miss in a red dress that fits like a glove, shrinks almost imperceptibly against Harry's side. Harry looks down at her, and the husband and wife share a look as if they're having an unspoken conversation.
Then he mutters something to her, and Y/n laughs as Harry kisses her cheek, but not before nudging his nose against it. The shouts double, so used to Harry's stoic approach to being out in the public eye, but both of them move steadily down the carpet, not paying the paparazzi and reporters any mind.
*.*
During their walk down the red carpet, Harry and Y/n come across a barricaded section for fans of the artists in attendance. They all cheer as each celebrity walks by, shouting compliments and proclamations of love for their favorite.
Y/n once again hesitates on Harry's arm, wary eyes darting toward the boisterous fans. At the same time, Harry is called to by a reporter asking for an interview. Checking in with his wife, he departs with a kiss to her forehead, murmuring words the cameras can't quite pick up.
Y/n stands on her own, one arm crossed over her stomach as she tries to stay standing tall. Fans call out to her from the barricade in a way that's difficult to ignore. She waves at them with a small smile, but it's clear they want her to come closer.
With one glance at her husband, who's still speaking with the reporter, and another to a security guard close by, she nods to the latter and they step closer to the barricade, just close enough in proximity that she can actually make out distinct voices and words.
"Y/n we love you!"
"Where did you meet Harry?"
"How long have you been together?"
"Ugh, you are so mother in that dress!"
"What's your skincare routine?"
"What's Harry's?"
The tense set of her shoulders eases a bit, no longer apprehensive of the fans and their potential to be cruel.
"I feel like I met him a lifetime ago," she says. "And I just cleanse, moisturize, and use SPF."
"How come we've never seen you at shows?"
"What's your favorite Harry song?"
"Are you friends with One Direction?"
"Where were you last year when Harry got wasted?"
Y/n chuckles at the last question, her eyes lighting up as her hand covers her mouth. "I've always had a soft spot for 'Ever Since New York.'"
"Taste!" a fan yells, decibels louder above the rest, which garners laughter from everyone.
"Can you make Harry release 'Medicine?'" another asks.
Before Y/n answers, Harry appears by her side, an arm snaking around her waist. "There you are. Got sidetracked by your own interview, did you?"
"They were just asking if I'd help them in their quest for a studio version of 'Medicine.' I'm not sure if I can, though. They don't know how stubborn you are."
A chorus of boos went up at Y/n's answer, but not at her. Harry raised his eyebrows at his wife as if in challenge, but her responding gaze is quite mischievous.
Taking everyone, including Y/n, by surprise, he leans in to kiss her cheek, saying, "Have I told you how beautiful you look tonight, darling?"
A chorus of aww's ring through the small crowd of fans as Harry places his hand on Y/n's lower back, ushering her away from the barricade. Y/n raises an eyebrow at her husband, who is conveniently not meeting her eye. "Nice save."
"I don't know what you're talking about."
"You never call me darling."
Harry lets out a snort. "Lies. Lies on the red carpet tonight."
Y/n rolls her eyes but leans in close to her husband, carefully avoiding the fabric flower around his neck. "Mhmm. Let's go, darling."
*.*
An artist is being interviewed inside the O2, and Harry and Y/n are videotaped in the background.
In the very corner, the couple are leaning in close and talking, a drink in each one of their hands. Harry talks animatedly, gesturing with his drink to the point where it nearly spills on Y/n's dress. Y/n doesn't seem to mind and just throws back her head as she laughs. His eyes light up as he watches her, a word that could only be described as love encompassing his face.
*.*
During one of the performances, a camera pans to Harry's table. The house lights are dim, but he's still visible amongst the flashes of color from the stage. Harry sits in his chair, body slumped a little low so he can rest his head on Y/n's shoulder.
Both of their attention is on the performer onstage, not noticing as a few cameras are pointed in their direction as Y/n scratches the back of Harry's neck absentmindedly. He leans into her touch, looking up occasionally to say something to his wife.
*.*
"And the winner is...Harry Styles!"
Cheers erupted throughout the room, the table Harry is at standing up. Harry himself stays seated and curls in on himself, pumping his arms victoriously as he beams. His eyes are a little glassy, his hair unkempt, a sign that the night has progressed with lots of alcohol consumption.
He turns to his sister Gemma first as he stands up, high-fiving her before giving her a hug and fist-bumping someone else. Then he turns to Y/n, who hasn't stopped clapping since his name had been read for the third time from the envelope.
She opens her arms as if to accept a hug, but Harry has other plans. He leans forward and kisses her in a way that's merely pressing his smile against hers until they mold their mouths into a kiss. Then he kisses her cheek repeatedly, making her shoulders bunch as she smiles brightly.
When Harry finally pulls away, Y/n's cheeks are flushed as she tries to wipe at her husband's face with her thumb. With one last kiss, he heads up to the stage to accept his award.
*.*
Another performance, only this time, everyone is on their feet, including Harry and Y/n.
Harry's arms are wrapped around Y/n's shoulders from behind, his chin on her shoulder. Both of them sway from side to side to the rhythm of the song as Harry mouthed the words in Y/n's ear.
Her grin is wide as her eyes stay trained on the performance. Then, she looks back at Harry, who met her gaze as she says something.
Nodding, he kisses her once on the cheek before nodding back to the stage.
*.*
As Kid speaks into the microphone onstage saying his thank yous, Harry is having the time of his life behind his friend as he speaks to Stanley Tucci.
By now it's a little obvious he's had more than a couple drinks. His hair is nothing short of a mess, his dress shirt is a little more unbuttoned than it had been to begin with, and he throws his head back and laughs in a way that is fueled by drunken delight.
Briefly, the camera turns to Harry's wife, who stands beside Gemma. Y/n's hands hold her face as she watches her husband be ushered offstage by the people around him. She giggles a little before leaning over to Gemma and shaking her head. Gemma laughs along with her, covering her mouth as she says something to the woman beside her.
The camera flashes back to Harry, who turns around one last time so he can blow a kiss to the crowd, more specifically, Y/n, who the camera catches covering her face in her hands, cheeks as red as her dress.
*.*
Paparazzi shout at their latest persons of interest as they make the brief walk from the car to the entrance of a club where the after party for the Brits is being held.
Harry's arms are tightly wrapped around Y/n's waist, face set as he ignores the crowd of people shouting for his attention. Y/n, turned slightly inward towards Harry's chest, keeps pace beside him. Most of her body is covered by what can only be her husband's suit jacket, but with the open front, a hint of a sparkly pink dress can be seen, a drastic change from her award show attire.
The only time they separate is when Harry allows Y/n entrance into the club first before following close behind, his hand once again protectively hovering over the small of her back.
*.*
Photos are strictly forbidden inside of the club, so it isn't until the couple emerges from the doors once again that they're spotted.
Neither of them stumble, though paparazzi wouldn't have cared if they were. All eyes are on Harry's disheveled hair, the heels dangling from his fingers, the suit jacket draped over the arm not around his wife. They're on Y/n, whose dress is completely on display, the beading that covers its entirety flashing with every snap of the camera's shutter.
Then the collar of Harry's silk dress shirt shifted, revealing a harsh purple bruise that hadn't been there before. Neither Harry nor Y/n seem to notice, or understand why the cacophony of shouts became louder, they just continue on, Y/n's hand on the nape of her husband's neck idly scratching until he helps her into the car.
Following suit, Harry climbs inside. For a brief moment, Harry sticks his head out the open window of the car and winks and sticks his tongue out at all the photographers. Y/n appears from her side of the car, leaning across her husband to bring the window up. Not an ounce of care in the world, he leans forward to kiss his wife's exposed jaw. With an exasperated expression on her face and a delicate wave of her fingers, the window goes up, and though the windows are tinted, a hand is visible against the glass as the car peeled away from the curb.

you have me, you have me only
joel miller x reader you get (minorly) injured on patrol. joel does his best to patch you up and not worry too much. | jackson!joel, hurt/comfort, wound-patching, some blood, a jesse cameo, joel being joel, all that good stuff. | 4.2k a/n: part of the just and just as verse. not too soft but not too angsty, either. just another day after the end of the world, you know? thank you @mrsmando for your eyes on this! <3
___
"Almost there," you mutter. "Fuck."
The icy winter wind dulls the stinging in your palms to a numbness. The leather gloves you've had for half a decade stay tucked in your pockets. You don't want to ruin their lining with dirt and blood.
"How's the head?"Â
Jesse pulls up alongside you in a trot. The adrenaline from your patrol-gone-wrong pulses heavy at the top of your spine, your vision sharp and the whole world a little too loud around you as Jackson comes into view at the bottom of the hill. Your head, like the rest of you, throbs.
"I'll live."
He scoffs and his horse snorts as if agreeing with him. In truth, you're more pissed than injured, though it certainly looks like you lost a fight. Jesse's cheekbone will no doubt bloom purple tomorrow and his lip is still bleeding sluggishly. His jeans are splattered with gore, same as yours.
"Thanks for back there," he says.
You shrug and wince when it pulls at the skin of your side where you fell.Â
"You, too," you tell him with a grimace. "That was quick thinking with the brick."
You like him -- he's good at his job and he's a good friend to Ellie. You know Tommy and Maria are not-so-subtly training him to run this place someday if he wants to. As a patrol partner, you can't ask for much better. He knows all the routes and he's a good shot and his mom knows everything there is to know about everyone in town and sometimes he passes tidbits on to you.
But knowing your shit doesn't mean a damn thing in this world, sometimes. You can still get ambushed by infected on patrol and it can still fuck up your day.
He waves you off. "I just can't believe an elk chose our station to fucking die in."
"Tommy is going to shit himself when you tell him," you laugh. It pulls at your ribs. God, is there any part of you that didn't take a beating?
"He'll just be pissed he wasn't here."
Your horses reach the bottom of the hill and Jesse hesitates, the green scrap of cloth in his hand. The red one indicating an injured party peeks out from his pocket.
"Are you sure you don't want to go to the clinic?"
"I'm fine," you say firmly. "I can patch up at home."
He eyes the cut on your forehead and your scraped palms but caves under your glare and waves the green flag.
"Joel makes the same face," he mutters. "Ellie does, too. Freaky."
The gates open and you grunt when you get off your horse, palms back to stinging.
"Joel's two expressions are pissed and annoyed," you say. âNot hard to pick one up.â You press the back of your hand to your forehead and it comes back tacky with blood. "Fuck."
"I don't think you'll need a stitch." Jesse holds his hand out for your patrol rifle and pats the neck of your horse. "I'll debrief and get these guys settled. You go home."
Normally, you'd protest. But you really just want to take a hot shower and sleep for twelve hours, so you nod and shoulder your pack carefully.
"Make sure you tell Tommy about beating a stalker to death with a brick," you call over your shoulder. "He'll be impressed."
Jesse laughs.
Snow crunches under your boots on the way home. Fuck, you're exhausted. The adrenaline fades with each step and the aches become sharp pains. There aren't too many people out today on account of the cold but you nod and wave, ignoring the double takes at the blood on your clothes.
It'll be a pain in the ass if you can't patch the ruined knees of your jeans. Maybe you can convince Joel to carve something for the woman down the street who can sew better than anyone in town. Finding new pants is damn near impossible.
Youâre practically dragging your feet by the time you reach your house. The mailbox labeled Miller, the wind chimes gently swaying on the porch, all of it puts you at ease. You made it home.
The porch steps groan as you climb them and the front door opens from the inside as you reach the top. Joel steps out, hand still on the knob when he looks up and sees you. His eyes widen.
He was on patrol today, too. You left at the same time but he had a shorter route and must have gotten back a while ago.
"Are you coming to meet me?" you say with a grin that's genuine despite the way your body pulses with pain. He does this sometimes -- milling around the gate, chatting with people on the wall as he waits for you to return. You never really feel like you're home until you see his face.
Joel does not smile back. His eyes rake over you the same way he surveys a room, cataloging all of the important things. The gash on your temple, the rips in your jeans, the way you're favoring your left side. The blood, too -- it's everywhere, you're sure. Palms, knees, collar. Jesse helped you wipe your face before you rode back so that you could see without blood in your eyes, but you must look pretty fucking rough.
"Jesus," he says. His hand twitches like he's going to reach for you. "You okay?"
"I'll be better when I'm not standing out in the cold."
His nostrils flare and he heads back into the house, you on his heels. You dump your pack and sit down heavily on the bench to take off your boots. Joel beats you to it, lowering to one knee with a slight groan, fingers working at your laces.
Normally he'd ask how patrol was, how Jesse did, if you saw anything interesting. Instead, his cheek twitches like he's clenching his jaw so hard it hurts. He unties your double knots with practiced ease and his silence fills the entryway of your house.
In another life, the sight of him on one knee would set your heart aflutter. As it is, you want to run a hand through his hair and smooth the worry lines on his forehead. You know him and this is how he handles it -- he chews on blame that doesn't belong on his shoulders until he can fix it.
"I'm fine," you say softly. You open and close your hands, resting them on your knees. You got most of the gravel out but there's dirt and god knows what else embedded in the tender flesh. Joel pulls off one boot with a firm hand on your calf and then the other before finally looking up at you.
"You wanna explain...this, then?"
His hand waves up in your general direction. There's no tremble in his palm but his brows are furrowed, his shoulders set in that way of his, like he's bracing for bad news. You have a rule about not lying to each other. So if you say you're fine, you're fine. Achey, bloody, and gross, sure. But you made it home in one piece and now you'll let him take care of you and he has to be okay with that.
But you don't mind reassuring him. He worries, and you know the feeling.
You shrug and fail to hide your wince. Joel wraps a hand around your ankle and squeezes lightly.
"I've had worse," you say. "I'll tell you about it if you patch me up."
He softens a little and sighs. It won't do anything to remind him that he can't go back in time and stop you from getting hurt. Joel knows he can't fix everything, can't keep everyone he loves away from harm, can't save the world. Won't, if it comes at the expense of the people in his heart.
But you can give him something to do -- a way to make it better. You could probably bandage your hands and your forehead and the rest on your own but it'll help him just as much as you if he does it.
Life in this world is a constant give and take. You have to be okay with some things, with cuts and bruises and ruined clothes if it means you survived. There's no safety, not anymore.
"Alright, c'mon," he says, standing with a groan. "Upstairs, 'fore you bleed on the furniture."
He holds out a hand for you to stand but you show him your mangled palm. Joel clicks his tongue and grips your forearm gently instead as you rise.
"Gotta clean that," he says.
"That's the plan." You leave your coat and pack behind in a heap and head for the stairs. "A hot shower sounds so fucking good right now."
Joel stops you with a hand on your elbow and you turn on the bottom step. He traces the cut on your forehead with light fingers and you try not to wince.
"Shower," he says. "I'll patch you up after." His tone leaves no room for argument.
You ghost your fingertips along his jaw and smile at him.
"Yes sir, Mr. Miller, sir."
More tension melts from his shoulders and he rolls his eyes at you. You laugh all the way to the bathroom, even though it hurts a little.
It's been a while since one of you returned from patrol with any sort of injury. Winter means the hoards are sluggish and easy to track and tends to keep groups of people from coming to the valley and making trouble. Today was bad luck and could have been much worse.
You both know how quickly all of the good in your lives can be snatched away. Everyone does.
But you just can't dwell on it. Joel knows it, too, and letting him fuss over you in that way of his will remind him. You're home. You're okay.
You leave the bathroom door cracked as you shower under the gentle spray. Your various injuries sting but you manage to clean the scrapes on your knees and hands and wash the blood from your skin and hair, the water rusty brown as it swirls around the drain.Â
Joel knocks when you're almost done and the hinges groan when he steps into the bathroom.
"Leavin' you clothes," he says, voice raised so you hear over the spray. "You okay?"
"Still alive," you call back. "Almost done."
The water starts to turn lukewarm so you switch off the stream and drag back the curtain. Joel is nowhere to be found but he's left you loose shorts so your knees are exposed and a big, faded graphic t-shirt that you brought home for him as a joke last year as well as fresh underwear and warm socks. You gently pat your skin dry with an old and scratchy towel and do your best with your hair before sliding them on.Â
Joel knocks again and this time he has the bag with all of your first aid stuff in his hands. The steam from your shower rushes out into your bedroom and you shiver.
He jerks his chin at the counter. "Wanna get up there?"
You haul yourself up with a groan and he stands between your knees, arms crossed and head cocked.
"What're we dealin' with, here?"
You look down at your messy palms and rattle off what hurts.
"Cut on my forehead, bruised rib, probably, fucked up hands and knees, and..." You look up and find Joel running a hand down his face. "That's it."
"You sure?"
You glare at him. He glares back. His eyes drift to your forehead gash.
"Cut could use a stitch."Â
He's still tense, you can tell, probably will be until he wakes up tomorrow and you're still next to him in bed. Until the wounds turn to scabs turn to scars. Maybe not even then.
"I think I've had enough cuts over the years to know what needs a stitch."
His eyebrows rise just a little bit, turning his expression from interrogative to exasperated, but he knows better than to tell you to do something when youâve set your mind against it.
"They're offerin' medical degrees on the Creek Trails, now?"
"Joel."
He holds his hands up in surrender. "Fine," he says. "Let me feel your ribs."
You raise your arms a little and he slides his palms under your shirt and up your torso, pressing gently as he goes. Braless as you are, he brushes the underside of your breast, and your breath hitches. His eyes are soft with quiet amusement but he doesn't tease you.
"Your hands are warm," you murmur. He reaches the place on your side that took the brunt of the impact and you hiss.
"Sorry," he says. "Doin' real good. Deep breath for me." You obey and he withdraws, satisfied.
"Nothin' broken," he says.
"Told you."
He hums and pulls out the precious few disinfectant wipes from your first aid kid. You can get Joel to do a lot of things just by asking, but arguing with him about wasting supplies on you never works. He washes his hands in the sink and glares are you like he knows what youâre thinking.
"Forehead first, then hands, then knees," he says. "Okay?'
You nod, eyes fluttering shut. He grips your face with gentle fingertips to keep you still.
"How was your patrol?" you ask him.
He makes a noise low in his throat that's halfway to being a laugh.
"C'mon," he says. "You don't want to hear about mine. I know you're dyin' to tell me what happened."
The alcohol wipe stings as he swabs at your forehead and you tense. Joel's thumb rubs slow circles at the corner of your mouth and you press your knees into his hips.
Funny how you've had broken bones, been stabbed, shot, pretty much everything over the last twenty years but it's the small stuff that hurts the most. Stubbed toes, sliced fingers, alcohol wipes on shallow wounds. Some things just don't change.
"Okay," you say. "Well, you'll never believe it, but a damn elk decided to die in the station where the logbook is."
You tell him how you and Jesse rode up and saw the blood trail immediately and heard the moans and groans. You kept the horses on the other side of the fence and checked the first floor and the overlook, but the elk had weaseled its way under the collapsed staircase.
It smelled like death, rust and decay heavy in the air. The animal must have died just after the last patrol.
But it wasn't the problem. It was the group of Infected it attracted -- two runners and four stalkers. You have no idea where they came from but, since you were on patrol, the priority was eliminating them. The runners were easier, although one of them was responsible for the gash on your forehead when it managed to push you into the wall. You and Jesse cleared them quickly, one bullet each.
You thought you got all of the stalkers. One of them was munching on the carcass and went down fairly easily with your good aim. Jesse helped you clean your forehead so you both could clear the passage to get to the upper level and sign the logbook. The corpses went over the side of the station into the forest below. The Infected had eaten so much of the elk that it wasn't too heavy, though you both were sweating and dirty by the time you finished.
"Lemme guess," Joel says. You open your eyes as he carefully pulls the wound closed with two butterfly bandages before he gestures for your hand. He holds your wrist gently and tilts your palm side to side, looking for dirt. "There were infected inside the station, too."
"Look at you," you tease. His eyes flick to yours for just a second, intense as always. "It's like you were there."
"Smartass," he grumbles. The disinfectant stings on your palm, too, but you keep talking and keep your gaze on his face.
"Jesse climbed the rope up to the control room first but had to fend off a stalker at the top so he didn't see when another one grabbed my ankle and pulled me down mid-climb, which fucked my hands. The fall is how my rib got bruised and I tore up my knees fending it off."
Joel's cheek twitches. He wraps one of your palms in gauze and turns his attention to the other.
"Fuckin' hate those things."
"Me, too. When I got to the top, finally, Jesse was tugging a pipe from the head of a corpse. There was one more -- it jumped out of that supply room on the side, the one where Ellie found a bong, once, I think. I dodged it but my gun jammed and my hands were bleeding."
"Should've been wearing gloves."
You tap his leg with your foot and ignore him. Not taking your bait about the bong means heâs still pissed. "And then Jesse killed it with a brick."
"I taught him that," Joel grumbles.
He ties off your other palm and as soon as he's done you frame his face. Joel allows it, allows you to stare at him for a few seconds like you're memorizing him. You're telling the story like it was a fun adventure -- and it was. You're plenty capable and he knows it, too.
But you were scared. You don't tell him that right now, instead grounding yourself in the man in front of you. His hands are rough and dangerous to most, but tender and careful to you. The broad, firm line of his shoulders, always braced for the next hit.
The gash on the bridge of his nose, the lines at the corners of his eyes. His beard, greyer every year. You swipe your thumbs along his cheekbones and he sighs.
"Lucky me," you say softly.
You lean in to kiss him, just a light press of your lips to his. His wide palms rest on your bare thighs and he kisses back with a kind of desperate firmness, as if he's proving to himself that you're real. That you're here in front of him, under his hands, in his care.
Joel drags his lips along your cheek.
"Knees," he says.
He steps back and releases your thighs with a squeeze. He treats more of your torn skin, a frown back on his face.
"I do want to hear about your patrol, by the way."
He shrugs. "Not much to tell," he says. "Didn't even get to shoot anythinâ.â
You swing your foot back and forth, tapping the side of his thigh with every pass.
"But you had the nice route," you whine. "Tell me what the lake looked like."
"Quit distracting me," he grumbles.
"Like you don't have the steadiest hands in all of Jackson," you say softly.
He snorts. "Are you flirtin' with me?"
"I'm always flirting with you, Joel Miller."
You lied to Jesse earlier -- Joel has hundreds of expressions. He just keeps most of them for you. For Ellie, and Tommy, too. You know every one of them by now.
The look on his face now says he's thinking about kissing you again, maybe just to shut you up.
You grin at him. "Tell me about your patrol, now, seriously. Unless talking and using your hands at the same time is too much for you."
He smirks back. "Think we both know that ain't true."
"Now who's flirting?"
Lazy heat curls in your belly but fatigue stops it from turning into anything. Joel must see that in your eyes because he simply taps your chin with a knuckle and starts talking.
You start to slump as his Texas drawl wraps around you. He tells you how the lake was still, how he and Astrid saw bear tracks but no bear. How he found a tape for Ellie that he's going to give her tomorrow, how he wore his gloves today like you've been telling him to.
Some people might say that Joel is a man of few words. You thought he was the quiet type when you first met him, another stoic survivor in a world that demands hardness of everyone. But not shy, never shy. Just...waiting. Watching.
He and Ellie can shoot the shit for hours -- a dynamic they've fallen back into easily enough since they started spending time together again. He's funny, he's clever, he's annoying as shit when he wants to be.
And Joel is quite the storyteller. If you had to guess you'd say it comes from having to entertain Tommy when they were kids, from getting Sarah into bed on his own over and over. Keeping Ellie occupied, keeping her talking when things were scary and hard and fucking awful.
It's just another way he takes care of people.
"Still with me?" he says. You realize your eyes have closed. When you open them you find Joel looking at you with tenderness and a spark of amusement. The tense line of his shoulders is nowhere to be seen. "All done. Tired?"
"And hungry."
He washes his hands and throws away the various wrappers and blood-stained wipes.
"Sure you're awake enough to eat?" he teases.
You roll your eyes at him. He laughs.
"Joel," you say, catching his elbow. "Thank you."
"C'mon, now."
He looks like he wants to argue with you for saying it but reaches for you instead. He traces the cut on your forehead just like he did at the bottom of the stairs, brow drawn again. You can't tell what he's thinking as he drags his thumb down and around your eye, cupping your cheek fully for just a breath before releasing you and stepping towards the door.
"I'll heat some soup."
Dinner is quick and quiet, your energy sapped from you to the point of exhaustion. Everything aches, despite Joel's thorough care. When he suggests turning in early you don't protest.
He takes longer than you to get ready for bed. You slide under the worn duvet and wait, trying very hard to keep your eyes open. Your bruised ribs throb in time with your heartbeat and when Joel finally turns off the light and gets in bed next to you in his threadbare sleep pants he practically hauls you into his embrace.
You go willingly, tangling your legs and laying your head on the juncture of his neck and shoulder. You press your palm to his chest, fingers threading in the coarse hair. His heart thuds and it grounds you.
"I didn't get any good gossip off Jesse," you whisper. "On account of the whole surprise-infected thing."
He yawns. "S'pose it's a good excuse."
"Can I tell you something else?" you whisper. "A secret?"
Joel hums, lips brushing your temple as his hand snakes up your sleep shirt to press against your lower back.
Even though you know each other down to the bones, some things remain inexplicable. Parts of your pasts that linger in the darkest parts of you, the parts that stay shrouded until the moments like this. You don't have to be brave in the quiet hours of the night, entwined with him as you are. It's the safest place you'll ever be. Safe enough that you can crack open and let Joel in, let those steady and worn hands keep you together.
"I was scared today," you say into his neck. "When the stalker dragged me off the rope. I panicked, I --"
You don't tell him how your initial thought when you hit the ground was of him, how you closed your eyes tight and thought of your name from his mouth, of his smile when you come through the door. The stalker had its bony fingers digging into your ankle and you wondered if you'd ever feel Joel's hands on you again.
Death will come for you sooner or later and when it does it'll be Joel's face that you hold in your mind before it all ends.
But today, you kicked death until its stupid fucking mushroom skull caved in.
Joel presses his lips to your temple. You can feel his heart beating faster, as fast as yours. It's the only thing that betrays his own fear.
Wounds in this life often go deeper than the skin. When Joel comes home with bloody knuckles and shuttered eyes it's one thing to stop the bleeding, to bandage him and get him to eat something. It's another to hold him, to coax out the story, the fear. To follow him downstairs when he has a nightmare, to look for him in every room. It's all part of what you do as partners, as lovers, as people in this world. You take care of each other.
Neither of you can fix a lot of things. But you can ensure the scars heal into something light, something you can barely see.
You can hold each other in the dark.
"Scared me, too," he rasps. A secret for a secret. "Lotta damn blood."
You kiss the underside of his jaw. "Can't get rid of me that easy."
Joel pulls you closer, somehow, mindful of your side.
"Rest, now," he says. "You ainât goin' anywhere."
It's a command, a promise. You hum your agreement and let sleep drag you under.

day 1: camping and candle
âUgh. Why are we doing this again?â Danny complained as he watched his dad pull supplies out of the GAV.
âWell, your dad and I agreed that everyone has been a little too stressed. What with the ghosts destroying part of the school and your father and I's recent slump.â Maddie absently replied as she began clearing a spot for the fire pit.
âBesides Danno. This gives us the perfect opportunity to try out the new and improved Fenton Anti-ghost Tent.â Jack shouted as he put a glowing box on the ground and pressed a button on the side that caused it to fold out into what could only be described as a family-size carnival tent.
âHay Jazz?â
âYa Danny?â
âPlease tell me you packed the actual tent.â
âYes. I even managed to buy a box of MREs in case Mom and Dad brought contaminated food again.â
âA week of MREs. Yay. Well, we might as well get our side of camp set up 'cause I am not sleeping in that.â
đťđŚđťđŚ
âCome hi everyone this is going to be fun. Think about it! Tents, roasted marshmallows, campfire stories. This will be awesome.â Dick said as he jumped out of the van and started unloading camping supplies.
âThis is a survival training exercise, Richard. Not a family bonding trip.â Damian said as he looked at the single-family size tent that Dick had packed.
âFor once I agree with Damien. This is not what I would consider âfunâ or âawesomeâ.â Tim said as he set up his laptop to finish his report for the next WE project that is due next week.
âI just want to know how the hell I got roped into this.â Jason grumbled as he started picking up stones for a campfire ring.
âCome on guys. This is as close to family vacation as we have been able to get in, like, ever. Let's make the most of it and have some fun.â Dick pleaded with them. âYou agree with me, right Duke?â
âI mean. Except for you and Damien, we're all city kids. But I guess it could be fun.â Duke hurriedly added on as he saw Dick start to pout. âYeah, yeah. Well, I ain't setting this up myself. Duke help me with these rocks. Tim helped Dick set up the stupid tent. And Damien you got the most experience in survival training. I need you to go through and scout the area and pick up wood for this fire.â Jason said while ignoring Dick's happy dance at his family getting along and helping each other.
đŚđťđŚđť
âCome on Danno! How can you protect yourself from ghosts if you don't put on the Anti-ecto Spray?â Jack asked as he followed Danny as he gathered wood for the fire.
âWe're in the middle of the forest, Dad. All we have to worry about out here is bugs and bears. And we have a spray for both already.â Danny argued.
âHe's right Dad. Besides you have that Ecto Shield that will be covering the camp once everything is set up for the night.â Jazz said, watching as her dad pouted and walked over to their mom.
âMadds? You'll put on the Anti-ecto Spray won't you?â
âI'm sorry dear. But you know that stuff causes my skin to rash. I think I might be allergic to something we used in it.â Maddie said as she pulled out a dutch oven and some baking supplies. âHere honey, why don't you go and make some fudge? I know how much you like your campfire fudge.â
âCampfire fudge is pretty good. But we're going to need more firewood if we're going to bake.â
âI got it Dad.â Danny said, taking off into the woods in a desperate attempt to get away from all the anti-ghost stuff.
âThat's my Danny Boy! Always eager to help out. Make sure you get some good size logs too!â
âIâll go with him. For the buddy system.â Jazz said as she began to walk in the direction Danny had run off in.
đťđŚđťđŚ
âTt.â
âDon't Tt me. A dutch oven is an essential if you are going camping.â Jason said as he checked to see if the water was boiling before moving the pot back over the fire so that the water in it could stay hot.
âIt is cumbersome and will weigh us down if we must move quickly through the woods.â Damian huffed.
âWell, it's a good thing we aren't going to need to move quickly through the woods. Now here's a knife and some potatoes. They've already been washed so now they just need cut up.â
âAnd what makes you think I will help you cook?â
âFor the same reason that Tim is cutting up veggies and Duke is cutting the vegan turkey sausage. If you want to eat. You need to help.â
âRichard is not helping.â
âRichard would burn the forest down if we let him do anything more than roast marshmallows.â
âHay! I'm not that bad.â Dick whined from where he was still struggling with the tent.
âAugust 26th, 2010.â Tim deadpanned as he put the veggies into the oven.
âOkay. That's not fair Tim.â
âUm. What happened in 2010?â Duke asked before they were interrupted my a loud explosion to the east of them.
âPut a pin in that Glowstick. I think we should check that out.â Jason said as he put the lid on the pot and moved it away from the fire before Tim quickly grabbed the bucket of dirt they had and smothered the fire with it before taking off towards the sound.
đŚđťđŚđť
âWhat the hell was that!â Danny yelled as he dropped the sticks he was carrying and ran back towards camp.
âI donât know! Just run!â Jazz shouted back as she pulled out her collapsible creep stick and tossed Danny the laser lipstick.
By the time they broke through the brush, they saw the camp in chaos. The new tent was trying/failing to eat Jack and Maddie was fighting the ecto lights.
âI kinda want to let them suffer.â Danny said as he deactivated the lipstick. Only to sigh as a group of four men ran into the clearing and began to try and help.
âI donât think thatâs an option anymore.â Jazz commented as she watched the human tank shoulder-check their dad to get him out of the way while a tall slender man expertly climbed the poles of the tent to get to the power switch that was at the top of the tent for some reason.
âI donât know Jazz. They seem like they're doing a good job.â Danny replied as the shortest and skinnyest of the group tried to help Maddy with the lights.
âIâll get the lights. You get the tent.â Jazz sighed before taking off and using the creep stick to tangle the lights and yank them out of the portable ecto-battery that their parents brought with them. Danny in the meantime ran to the GAV and climbed on top to give him a clear shot at the off button seeing as the tent was moving too much to climb. One clean shot and the tent folded in on itself, back into the box it was that morning.
âDanno! Jazzypants! Good job!â Jack shouted as he scooped both kids into a hug.
âAnd thank you to you four as well. Itâs clear you have had training but you should really leave the ecto fighting to the professionals.â Maddy addressed the young men who had come over to make sure everyone was okay.
âEcto fighting? Lady I donât knowâ The tank asked as he crossed his arms.
âWhat my brother means to say!â The one who tried to climb the tent interrupted. âIs that weâre from Gotham so are kinda used to having to fight. Iâm Dick by the way. This is my brother Jason. Tim is the one who is currently investigating the tent box? And Duke is standing next to him. And last but not least this is Damian!â
âWell, itâs nice to meet you all! Iâm Jack! Thatâs my lovely wife Maddie, and these are our kids! Jazz and Danny!â
âYou were quite adept with your baseball bat. Have you ever thought about training with a bo staff?â Damian asked Jazz.
âItâs actually what I was originally trained in when Mom was training me how to fight.â Jazz said while straightening her hair once Jack put her and Danny down.
âIf you want honeybun I can make you a new bo staff when we get home. It would offer more maneuverability during a ghost fight.â
âGhost fight?â Tim asked as he and Duke walked over to the little family.
âYa! Me and Madds here are ectobiologists!â Jack excitedly said before Jazz took the wind out of his sail.
âIt doesnât really matter what we are right now. The FAT completely wrecked the camp. The GAV and the MREs are okay but weâll probably have to move camp or go home.â
âI saw an old cabin to the west of us with some candles and stuff not far from here when I got the first batch of firewood. We could stay there and leave some of our supplies in exchange for anything we use.â Danny chipped in.
âHay! I think we passed that on the way here! Maybe we can all camp together! Safety in numbers you know?â Dick suggested as he bounced on his toes.
âThatâs a great idea! How about you boys gather your camp and meet us there!â Jack cheered before he ran off to pack the GAV back up.
âDanny dear. Can you go with them and mark a trail to the cabin for us? Hereâs some orange ribbon to tie to the trees.â Maddy said before ushering Jazz off so that Danny could âhang out with boys his age.â
âSo,â Danny said as he started down the trail. âGotham huh?â
âYup. Where are you from?â Dick asked.
âAmity Park.â
âThe most haunted place in the world?â Tim asked as he pulled out his phone and began typing.
âSounds interesting.â Duke said only for Danny to through his head back and groan loudly causing the siblings to look at each other.
âYes, it's haunted. No, I would not recommend going. The government already has itâs nose in it. And even though my parents didnât recognize a group of Wayens doesnât mean I didnât. We do not need that kind of publicity.â
âFair enough.â Jason shrugged while leaning over to look at Timâs phone.
âLetâs just get this done.â Danny grumbled trying to walk ahead of the group.
âWeâre totally going to investigate this arenât we.â Duke whispered when Danny was far enough ahead.
âTt. Obviously Thomas.â

An hour late but I think I did it. Hope everyone enjoyed it!

[22:45]
"Please, I'm begging you! Stop this! PLEASE!!!"
Your desperate begging being ignored by those people. You had lost your strength and couldn't fight with them anymore. Their hold on your hands still tight and waiting for the next instructions.
"Did you learn your lesson, baby?"
"YES YES YES I DID I DID PLEASE RIKI! PLEASE LET ME GO!"
Riki smiled while walking closer to you. He stopped when he reached one step in front of you. Your face became pale and your hair getting wet after got pushed into the water few times. However, that sight didn't stop Riki from caressing your face and left some kisses. You were holding yourself from moving away. You don't want to get punish anymore.
"My sweet baby. You are mine, Y/n. Why were you tried to run away at the first place? No one can take care of you better than me."
The hold on your hands switched from those helpers to Riki. He held your body to lean on him. The warmth from his body brings you comfort. You let him take off the clothes and bring you to a warm shower.
"No one can ever take you from me, Y/n."
__________
__________
"Y/n, we missed you. It's been a long time since you visited us. How are you sweetie?"
You were having a call with your mother. Since you both are in different countries so it's difficult to make a call because of the time difference.
"I missed you too mum. I'm doing good...."
Your heart beat slowly increasing. You felt the urge to tell her the truth about your life. About your relationship with your psychopath boyfriend. You were thinking the words to deliver the news when suddenly you felt a pair of hands sliding on your waist from behind.
"Talking with who baby? Is it your mom?"
"Oh my god, is that Riki? Give the phone to him. I miss that kid!" You smiled bitterly and leaned the phone closer to Riki so he could talk to your mother.
__________
__________
Both of you were resting on the bed. You were laying on his chest while Riki put his head on your shoulder and helped you on cutting your toenails.
"Were you trying to tell me on them, baby?"
"Huh? What....what do you mean?"
"Naughty girl. Trying to other people about us, hmm? But do you think your mother will believe on what you said?"
"I....I didn't do anything."
"Yes, you better behave or you will wake up with their heads on the stairs greeting you in the morning."
At this point, you felt helpess. No one can save you from Riki and nothing can stop him from pushing everyone out of your life.
___________
It feels so good to write something again altho it's just short storyđđđ Im glad if you guys enjoy this. Thank you for still sending support.

you donât want to get married/have kids.

bang chan
You both left your best friend's home with the scent of new baby powder still clinging on your clothes. The happiness that came from the visit was palpable; after all, you'd just met their newborn, a small miracle that everyone couldn't stop adoring. Chan couldn't stop smiling as you strolled down the sidewalk together, his voice light as he pondered on your visit.
"You were so adorable with him," he continued, almost teasingly but with a sensitive undertone. "The way you held him, the way you shushed him when he started to whine... It was like you were made to be a mom."
You laughed nervously, the compliment resting on your chest like a weight. He didn't notice how the mood shifted; he was still smiling, oblivious to the sudden tightening in your throat. You felt a knot tighten in your stomach, one that had been growing for a while but had never been as visible as today. His words were like a knife, a gentle reminder of something you'd always kept buried. Something you were afraid to admit, even to yourself.
Chan's voice became quieter as you did not react immediately. His fingers brushed over yours, and you stiffened, trying to push away the discomfort that felt like a cold, invisible barrier between you. "What's wrong?" he asked softly, his worry visible. "You okay?"
The question hit you harder than you expected, sending a wave of panic through your chest. You tried to ignore it and play it off, but the words spilled out before you could stop them.
"I... I don't know," you said quietly, your gaze fixated on the sidewalk. "It just makes me anxious, thinking about... all of that." You paused, unsure whether to continue, but his quiet pushed you on. "I've never actually considered having kids. I mean, I've considered it, but the thought of being bound to one person or having the duty of raising a child for the rest of my life is overwhelming." Your voice cracked at the end of the phrase, revealing the rawness of your feelings.
Chanâs steps faltered. You could feel him beside you, the air between you heavy with unspoken words. He didnât say anything right away, but his silence felt more deafening than anything. Then, finally, he spoke, his voice softer, careful.
"Why didn't you tell me this before?" His words were not accusatory, but they were sad and cut deep. He wasn't angry, but there was an evident hurt in his voice, a type of sadness you hadn't expected. "I didn't know you felt this way."
You swallowed and tried to keep your voice calm. "I wasn't sure how to say it. It's just not something I'm prepared for, Chan. The thought of it scares me. I've always been afraid of commitment. I'm terrified of the responsibilities. Of being everything to someone, of being tied down indefinitely."
You could feel his eyes pressing into you. His hand came out and softly touched your arm, but you still felt detached, as if you were miles off.
"Do you mean that?" His voice was soft and weak. "That you wouldn't want to have kids at all?"
You did not react immediately away, the question reverberating in your head. How would he react if you said yes? Will he be disappointed? Will he question everything between you? Your heart pounded in your chest as you finally nodded, though part of you despised the way it sounded. "I don't think I've ever imagined it for myself. Not in the way you seem to."
He exhaled softly, like he was letting go of something heavy. But you could tell it wasn't easy; the weight of your words had lodged someplace deep within him. "I've always thought about a future with you, you know?" He whispered it quietly, his hand slipping down to his side as if he didn't know what to do with it. "I suppose I expected you to want the same things eventually. The family, kids. Maybe I'm just being naive."
You felt your chest tighten as he spoke. It wasn't that you didn't love him; you did, more than you could ever express, but the future he was anticipating felt like one you weren't prepared for. A life that you weren't sure you wanted. "I'm sorry," you said softly, unable to meet his eyes, your voice barely above a breath. "I just... I'm not sure if I am made out for that. I'm not sure if I'm cut out to be that kind of person."
Chan fell silent, and for a long while, neither of you moved. You had no idea what to say, and the weight of his disappointment felt like an unseen hand pushing down on you. It wasn't the anger you feared it was the quiet sadness, the unspoken realization that maybe you werenât on the same page after all.
âI guess I was hoping youâd be ready, or that weâd grow into it together,â he finally said, his voice distant, as if he were talking to himself rather than to you. âBut if youâre not, I... I donât know what that means for us.â
His words struck a chord deep inside you. You didnât want to lose him, but you also couldnât pretend that you felt ready for the things he seemed so certain about. You reached out, touching his arm gently, not sure if your touch would bring comfort or just make things worse. âI never meant to hurt you,â you said, your voice shaking. âI just... Iâm scared, Chan. And I donât know how to fix it. I donât know how to be the person you need me to be.â
His eyes met yours for a brief moment, and there was no judgment or anger. Just a quiet understanding. "I don't need you to be anyone else," he stated softly. "I just... I just need you to be honest with me." You nodded, tears welling in your eyes, and for the first time, you realized how much of yourself you'd been hiding.
The dread and doubt were not only about commitment. It was about losing yourself in the attempt of meeting someone else's expectations.
âI donât know if Iâm ready for any of this,â you admitted, your voice raw. âBut I donât want to lose you, either.â
Chan gave you a sad smile, a hint of the warmth he always showed, even in moments like this. âWe donât have to figure it all out right now,â he said gently. âBut I think we owe it to ourselves to keep talking about it. No matter how hard it gets.â
You both stood there for a while, the silence wrapping around you like a blanket. It wasnât the resolution youâd both hoped for, but in a strange way, it felt like the beginning of a deeper conversation one that you would have to continue, one step at a time.
changbin
It's a quiet evening, and everything feels soft and cozy. Changbin and you are lying in bed, wrapped up in one other, the comfort of his presence relieving the stress of the day. You're both cuddling close, tangled under the blanket, and the room is faintly lighted by the soft glow of a lamp in the corner. It's the type of intimate moment in which everything feels natural and the day's talk slips into oblivion.
He's just returned after a lengthy practice, his body still warm from the exercise, but his mind is at ease, happy to be home with you. You, on the other hand, have that familiar peace whenever you're near him, as if you could just stay in this moment forever. But then, as if his thoughts are drifting, Changbin turns to face you. His voice, which is normally loud and confident, is softer tonight, with a touch of something unspoken.
"You know, I've been thinking a lot about the future," he says, his fingers carelessly skimming through your hair. "About us."
You nod, your eyes tracing the lines of his jaw, the subtle play of light over his face. Itâs easy to get lost in him, easy to imagine that everything will always be this simple, this perfect. But you can feel the tension creeping into his tone, something deeper behind his words.
âWhat about it?â you ask, trying to keep your voice light, though a small part of you starts to brace for something that feels important.
He exhales softly, and you can hear him shifting in bed, turning his body just slightly to face you more fully. âYou know⌠weâve been together for so long now. And thereâs something Iâve been meaning to ask you. Something Iâve been wondering.â
You swallow, the slight nervousness in his voice making you instantly alert. You already know where this is going, but you canât quite prepare yourself for whatâs to come.
"Why do you avoid talking about marriage and kids?" he says, his voice calm but with a softness that you rarely hear from him. "I mean... I want to share all of that with you. I want to marry you and have a large wedding with our families, members, and friends present to celebrate us. I hope to have a family with you. Maybe one girl and one boy," he continues, his words gushing out with a calm eagerness that contrasts sharply with your regular lively banter.
As he speaks, his eyes light up with optimism, and you can tell how much he wants to share this future, this dream with you. And that's when you realize how heavy everything is. Heâs been picturing a future together, full of love, marriage, children, and everything that comes with it. And for a moment, youâre caught in the warmth of his vision.
But as you lie there, something tightens in your chest. You donât share that vision. You donât want the same things.
Your gut twists, causing your heart to skip a beat. His words, so genuine and full of love, linger in the air, and you can feel the truth swelling up inside you, a truth you've tried to ignore. You can't avoid this subject forever, no matter how much you want to.
"Changbin," you say, wobbly but resolute. "I don't want any of that."
The room becomes silent, and his hand freezes on your hair. You look up at him, and his expression has changed to one of shock, confusion, and even disbelief.
âWait, what?â he asks, his voice catching for a moment. âYou⌠you donât want to get married? Or kids?â
You shake your head, trying to find the right words, the ones that will explain the storm of emotions swirling inside you. âI donât,â you say softly. âI love you, Changbin. I do. But those things⌠marriage, kids⌠I donât see them in my future.â
He sits up a little, his eyes now wide, searching your face as if he canât quite believe what heâs hearing. âAre you serious?â The words come out like a gasp, disbelief settling into his voice. âYouâre telling me you donât want any of that? After everything weâve talked about?â
You sit up too, your chest tightening as the distance between you widens, even if only physically. His confusion, the hurt in his eyes, it makes your heart ache. You reach for him, but the words that follow are harder than you expected.
"I'm sorry," you say softly, your throat tight. "I never meant to hurt you. I genuinely love you. But I never imagined myself getting married or having children. It's not that I don't want to have a future with you, but... "I don't think I'll ever be prepared for that kind of life."
He looks at you for a long time, attempting to make sense of what you've just said. The stillness between you feels heavier than any dispute. His eyes are clouded with pain and uncertainty, and you can see reality sinking in. He's always pictured you staying by his side forever. And the future he dreams of does not appear to encompass the one you envision for yourself.
âWhy?â His voice cracks, and it cuts through you, deeper than you thought possible. âWhy didnât you say anything sooner? Why let me think we were on the same page?â
âI was afraid,â you admit, your voice trembling. âAfraid of losing you. I thought maybe I could come around to the idea, maybe I could force myself to want that with you. But I canât, Changbin. I canât lie to you about something this big. I canât give you the future you want when I know itâs not what I want.â
He runs a hand through his hair, frustrated and hurt, the tension radiating off him in waves. âSo what does that mean for us, then? If we donât want the same things, if we canât even agree on something as big as marriage or kids⌠What does that mean for us?â
The question hangs in the air, sharp and painful. You want to say something, anything that might ease the hurt between you two, but you donât know how. Youâve always loved him, deeply, completely. But youâre realizing that love alone canât make you want the things he envisions.
âI donât know,â you say quietly, your voice barely above a whisper. âI wish I could give you what you want. But I donât think I can. I donât think Iâll ever want that life.â
The silence stretches on, a cold chasm between you now, and the warmth that once filled the room feels like itâs slipping away. He doesnât say anything right away, and the quiet becomes unbearable. The hurt in his eyes is undeniable, and you can see the weight of his dreams crashing down around him.
After a long moment, he exhales, a shaky breath escaping him. âI donât know if I can do this if we want completely different futures,â he says, his voice low, almost broken.
âI understand,â you whisper, your heart sinking at the realization. âIâm so sorry.â
The words seem hollow, too light for the weight of the room. You've just told him that the future he envisioned with you is not the one you see. And for a moment, you both simply sit there, silently digesting the weight of everything that has happened in that conversation.
In the stillness, you understand that love doesn't always mean sharing the same dreams. And sometimes, even if you love someone wholeheartedly, it is insufficient to bridge the gap between two very different ideas of the future.
The coldness of the morning is suffocating, and you can feel it weighing heavily on your chest. Since the conversation with Changbin the night before, things have felt distant like a shadow hanging over you both, and he hasnât said a word to you since. Heâs been giving you the silent treatment, and it hurts more than you care to admit.
You wake up earlier than usual, still processing the conversation and regretting how things turned out. You go through your morning routine slowly, making breakfast, setting up the table, and preparing Changbin's lunch as usual. It feels odd, though, as if something is missing. There is no lighthearted conversation in the kitchen, no teasing or sweet kisses, and no peaceful moments where you can both linger before the day begins. When you offer him his lunch as he walks out the door, you watch as he takes it without saying anything, his eyes avoiding yours. It's as if he's a stranger and your heart sinks. "Have a good day," you say quietly, but he doesn't look up. Instead, he simply nods, his face unreadable, before slipping out the door. Your stomach churns with the sudden, overwhelming sense of loss.
-
At practice, Changbin is a shell of himself. The members immediately notice, exchanging worried glances as they watch him sit in silence, his usual bright energy completely absent. Heâs quieter than ever, not offering his usual teasing or joking with the others. The playful, sarcastic remarks that he usually spews effortlessly are nowhere to be found. Heâs distant, almost like heâs not even there.
It doesnât take long for the rest of the members to gather around him once the break starts. Theyâre used to Changbin being the one to lift the mood, to crack jokes and keep things light. But today, heâs utterly detached. The silence in the room is thick, and itâs clear something is wrong.
âBin, whatâs going on?â Hyunjin asks, his tone soft but filled with concern. The others chime in too, eyes full of worry.
Changbin shrugs, his hand running through his hair, frustration written all over his face. He doesnât even look up as he answers. âItâs nothing, really.â
But his voice betrays him. Thereâs pain in his words, and the members can sense it immediately. They press him again, refusing to let it slide. Itâs rare to see him like this.
âYou sure? Youâre off today, man,â Felix comments, eyeing him. âYou usually canât sit still. What happened?â
Finally, Changbinâs walls begin to crack, and his voice breaks as he mutters, âShe doesnât want to get married or have kids. Thatâs what we talked about last night. She doesnât see a future with me like I thought she did.â His words spill out, raw and unfiltered. The hurt is evident, but so is the confusion. âI donât know if I can get past that. It might be a dealbreaker for me.â
The silence in the room is deafening. The members exchange uneasy glances, taking in the weight of what he just said.
âBut,â Seungmin begins, his voice steady, âyouâve been with her through so much, right? And sheâs stood by you, too. You love each other, donât you?â
Changbin nods, the pain in his eyes palpable. âOf course. I love her more than anything. But... weâre not on the same page when it comes to the future.â
Jisung leans forward, his brow furrowed in thought. âBut is it really worth throwing everything away? I mean, youâve been through so much together, and youâve always said how in love you are with her. Youâve both built something really special. Is it really about not wanting kids or getting married, or is there more to it?â
Changbin doesn't respond right away. He only stares at the ground, repeating the words in his thoughts. They're right. He's been so focused on his future vision, which includes marriage, children, and a life together, that he hasn't considered the possibility that she doesn't want the same things. But it was not all about it. He'd always imagined growing old with her, and a future without those things felt empty. Or did it?
"Are you really going to let something like that end everything?" Hyunjin contributes gently. "I know it hurts. But love isn't about forcing someone to fit into a particular mold. If you love her, it may be worth working out a way forward, even if it isn't exactly what you hoped for."
The words hit Changbin hard. The members are right, and for the first time since the conversation with you, he starts to realize how much heâs been holding onto an idealized version of the future. Maybe he needed to let go of the idea of what it should look like and focus on what they had together. Maybe there was another way forward.
When Changbin arrives home later that night, the silence between you feels more suffocating than before. The house feels colder than usual, and he can't shake the weight of what he's been carrying about all day.
When he walks in, he expects to see you with a smile and maybe a joke to break the tension, but instead he finds you curled up on the couch, wrapped in a blanket, staring blankly at the TV. You don't even look up when he walks in. The absence of your usual greeting hits him like a punch to the stomach. This was not how things were meant to be. You weren't supposed to feel like strangers in your own home.
He stands in the doorway for a moment, the guilt gnawing at him. He knows heâs been distant, that his silence has been like a wall between you two, and itâs been tearing him apart inside. He canât keep doing this. He needs to fix things, to bridge the gap thatâs formed between you both.
Without saying anything else, he crosses the room and kneels down in front of you, pulling the blanket away gently. You look up at him, your eyes tired, filled with a sadness he hates seeing. He feels a pang in his chest as he reaches for you, pulling you into his arms.
âIâm sorry,â he whispers, his voice rough with emotion. âIâve been an idiot. I shouldâve never given you the silent treatment, especially not when you needed me to listen. I let my own hurt cloud my judgment, and Iâm sorry for that.â
You donât say anything for a moment, just let yourself melt into his embrace, the warmth of his arms providing a sense of comfort you didnât know you needed. You feel his breath against your neck, and despite the lingering tension, you realize you donât want to be apart from him either.
âI was so scared, Changbin,â you whisper, your voice breaking. âI love you, but I didnât know how to say that I wasnât ready for the future you imagined. I never wanted to hurt you.â
âI know,â he replies softly, tightening his hold on you. âI was scared too. I thought⌠I thought I needed everything to be exactly how I imagined. But I donât. I just need you. I love you, and thatâs enough. Whatever we choose, whatever that looks like⌠I want it with you.â
You draw back slightly, catching his gaze, and you can see the sincerity in them. The tension in your chest relaxes slightly, but you know that nothing is magically fixed. There's still a lot to work out, a lot of talking to be done, but this moment, this apology, is a positive beginning.
And for the first time in the day, you feel the warmth between you two return, a reminder that love isn't about having everything sorted out. It is about being willing to try, learn, and meet each other halfway.
HAN
The evening at Jisungâs parentsâ house had started off so well. The warm scent of sizzling barbecue wafted through the air, mingling with the sounds of laughter as you sat around the table, enjoying the food and easy conversation. Jisungâs parents were warm and inviting, and his older brother had just arrived with his toddler daughter, a little girl with bright eyes and an infectious laugh.
The toddler immediately took a liking to you, toddling over with a grin that could melt anyoneâs heart. You couldnât help but smile as she clung to your legs, tugging on your arm to be picked up. She had so much energy, so much sweetness, and it was impossible not to feel a little soft as she snuggled against you, pressing her cheek to yours.
Jisung watched with a soft chuckle, his eyes warm as he watched you with his niece. His mom, sitting across the table, couldnât hold back her excitement. âLook at you!â she exclaimed, beaming. âYouâre a natural with her! You look so comfortable holding a little one. Jisung, I can definitely see you two having kids of your own someday.â
Jisung laughed along with her, clearly enjoying the moment, but you felt a sudden tension tighten in your chest. You smiled at his mom, trying to keep it light, but you felt a knot forming in your stomach. This wasnât a conversation you were prepared for, not now, not here.
Before you could react, his mom added, âYou should think about it soon, you know. The clock is ticking. It would be so lovely to see you both start a family. When are you planning on getting married and having kids of your own?â
The words felt like a punch to the gut, so casual, so matter-of-fact. You felt yourself freeze, your hand instinctively tightening around the little girl in your arms, who was still smiling and oblivious to the change in your mood. You forced yourself to smile, but it felt thin, fragile, like a mask you were desperately trying to hold in place.
Jisung didnât notice the shift at first. He looked at you, then back at his mom with a playful grin. âSoon, I guess,â he said with a shrug, his voice light, almost too light. âWeâve been talking about it. Right?â
You nodded, trying to sound casual. âYeah, yeah, soon.â
But something didn't feel right. The words felt hurried, too easy, and... uncharacteristic of you. You could feel your heart beating and your chest constricting as his mother went on about how adorable it would be to see you both with children. Meanwhile, Jisung was still smiling, obviously happy with the thought. But you couldn't shake the feeling that something was wrong, and you hadn't told him yet. You couldn't breathe through this conversation.
Excusing yourself silently, you stood up quickly and returned the toddler to her seat with a little smile. "I'll justâuh, I'll be right back," you murmured, wanting time to gather yourself. You didn't wait for anyone to say anything before heading inside and into the nearest bathroom.
Jisungâs voice trailed behind you, soft but insistent. âWait, are you okay?â
You closed the bathroom door behind you, trying to calm your racing thoughts. You leaned against the sink, closing your eyes for a moment, the world spinning slightly. You could hear Jisungâs footsteps approach outside the door before it opened quietly.
âI know somethingâs wrong,â he said, his voice low, tentative. âWhat is it?â
You swallowed hard, biting your lip. Your stomach churned as the words you had been avoiding for so long bubbled to the surface. You turned to face him, your chest tight with the weight of your emotions. âIâm sorry,â you whispered, your voice shaky. âI just... I donât know. I donât think Iâm ready for this. Marriage. Kids. Itâs just not something Iâve really thought about, not in the way you do. Itâs not that I donât love you, Jisung, but...â You trailed off, unable to fully articulate the swirl of anxiety and fear that had settled in your gut.
Jisungâs face shifted, confusion mixing with concern. âWhat do you mean? Whatâs going on? You seemed fine earlier.â
You exhaled sharply, running your hands through your hair. âMarriage and kids... they require sacrifices. And I donât know if Iâm ready for that. I like my life the way it is. I like my freedom, my autonomy. I donât want to feel like Iâm constantly tied to one person or one responsibility. Iâm scared that itâll limit my space, my choices, my me time. I just... I donât know if Iâm the type of person who can handle all that, all at once.â
Jisung stood still for a moment, his eyes searching yours, his expression soft but serious. âSo, youâre saying you donât want kids? Or that you donât want to get married?â
You took a shaky breath. âI donât know. Iâve never really thought about it that way before. I guess... Iâve just always been scared of what comes with those things. Itâs not just about the good stuff, itâs the responsibility, the change, the giving up parts of yourself, the constant giving. It feels like a lot, Jisung. Like too much.â
His expression shifted again, not in anger, but in a kind of quiet sadness. He stepped closer, though you couldnât bring yourself to look at him fully, your gaze fixed on the floor. âI understand being scared,â he said quietly, his voice low. âBut I never thought you felt this way. I thought we were on the same page about... well, about our future.â
You shook your head, biting your lip. âI didnât want to disappoint you,â you admitted, your voice barely a whisper. âI didnât know how to say it. I donât want to disappoint you. I just... I donât think Iâm ready for that kind of future. At least, not now. And maybe not ever.â
Jisung stayed silent for a while. The silence was thick, and you could feel his presence beside you, a reassuring warmth that made the space between you seem even greater. Finally, he spoke, his voice quiet but with a hint of hurt.
"I don't want to push you into something you're not ready for," he added, his hand tentatively brushing over yours, as if he didn't know where you stood anymore. "But I had always pictured us together, you know? In the future. I don't want to lose that dream, but I also don't want to force you to pursue it. If you're not ready, I can't force you to be."
You squeezed his hand, a lump in your throat. âI donât want to lose you either,â you said, voice thick. âBut I need time, Jisung. I need time to figure this out. I need to understand myself before I can think about a future like that.â
He nodded slowly, his eyes distant. âOkay. Iâll give you time. But I donât want you to feel like youâre alone in this. Whatever you decide... Iâm here. I just need you to be honest with me, and weâll figure it out.â
You swallowed the lump in your throat, looking up at him, trying to smile through the heaviness in your chest. âThank you. I promise Iâll try to figure it out. But I need to do it on my own time. Please donât rush me.â
Jisung squeezed your hand back, his expression softening. âI wonât. But weâll talk more, okay? Weâll keep talking.â
You nodded, trying to calm your breathing. This wasn't an easy conversation, and it wasn't an easy feeling, but having him standing there, allowing you space to breathe and think, made you feel less lost. Maybe things weren't clear right now, but you knew you could work them out one step at a time.

ŕ¨ŕ§ â§âË mine. - j. woll Ëâ⧠ŕ¨ŕ§
pairing: j. woll x fem!reader summary: Joe and Y/N go to the Annual Tavares' Christmas party, where Y/N meets a majority of the team for the first time. She hits it off with the young forward, Matthew Knies. Seeing Y/N so content with a younger guy, Joe gets worried about his age difference with her and the problems that may arise from it. request: hey love hope you're doing well, could you write a fic with Joseph Woll where the reader meets Matt Knies for the first time since joe and her have been dating for a while, and joe gets jealous. hope that makes sense if not ignore! â¤ď¸ word count: 1403 warning(s): jealous joe, age gap (reader is 20 and joe is 26), insecure joe because i can't make knies actually flirt with his best friends gf, not proof read notes: this might be horrible im so sorry !! i don't see joe as the jealous type so this was a little hard but i'm trying to build my writing skills so i like the challenge. i had to add a few more tropes to make it flow better if that's ok. i hope you enjoy !!! xoxo
"Joeyyyyyy !!" you whine, sitting with the car door open, "Will you carry me? My heels are open toed and...there's snow".
It's the Annual Toronto Maple Leafs christmas party at John Tavares' home in Oakville. Joe insisted you come meet the team a bit more formally now that you two had officially been dating 6 months. You knew all their wives and girlfriends well, bonding over the joys and hardships of having a partner in pro-hockey. This was your first time meeting the actual players, though. And, boy, were you nervous.
"Sweetheart, its like 30 steps," Joe stands by your open door, in the falling snow. You pout and say "You hate me".
"I don't hate you. Actually, it's the opposite. I love you. Now, come. You know how Aryne feels when people are late".
You huff and grab your purse, jumping out of Joe's blue porsche and into the snow covering JT's driveway. Joe grabs your hand and you wander up to the front door together before you stop, suddenly. "Ok, remind me, who am I meeting tonight?". Joe sighs. You have been through this at least 5 times today.
"Y/N, you're gonna be fine. No reason to be nervous," he smiles with kind eyes. "I'm not nervous. I just want to remember who everyone is". Joe nods again and starts, "You know JT and Mitchy. Remember from the gala we went to a few weeks ago?". You nod and he continues, "You'll meet Autson, Willy, Domi, McCabe, Reavo, Mo, Lorentz, Stolie and Kniesy. They will love you, baby. Trust me."
You nod again and smile. With that, Joe rings the doorbell. JT answers the door, "Hey, guys, how are you doing? Come on in". You step into the beautifully decorated foyer of the Tavares home and hear chatter coming from the other room. JT takes your coat and you see his wife, Aryne, beckon you over into the kitchen.
You and Joe walk into the other room, soon realizing you were the last to arrive. Everyone is there. Holding drinks, talking and laughing together. It feels nice to be part of something like this. Dating Joe has been an adjustment but when you see all your new friends and the community you have built, it makes it all worth it. The girls come over and hug you, complimenting your dress or hair, while the guys exclaim at Joe's arrival, teasing him about his lateness. Domi even makes a comment on how he "cleans up real nice" and winks.
Joe makes eye contact with your from across the room and makes a motion for you to come closer. You excuse yourself from your group of friends, who have changed the subject from your outfit to what Aryne should get her mom for Christmas.
"Hi," you wave at all the new people staring at you. "I'm Y/N-". "Oh we know who you are, love, don't worry," McCabe cuts you off and smiles. Stolarz laughs and continues, "Yeah, Woller doesn't shut up about you". You smile and look over at Joe. He's blushing like crazy. "It's nice to finally meet you, Y/N," Domi give you a toothless grin. Auston shakes you hand, "Welcome to the team".
Time has gone by and you decide staying sober was not fun whilst everyone else is drunk. You get yourself a "christmas martini" (something Reavo's wife, Alanna, brought) and sat down in the living room. Joe was outside talking to Willy and Mo. He looked content from what you could see, smiling and laughing with beer in hand.
"Mind if I sit?"
You hear someone ask, snapping you back to reality. You look up and see the one and only Matthew Knies. He smiles down at you and you nod, "Of course". He nods and takes a seat beside you. "I have been meaning to talk to you. You're Y/N right?" he looks over, as if to make sure. You nod and smile, "That's me!".
"Great. I can't believe it took this long for us to meet. Joe never stops talking about you, you know. Always going on and on about how lucky he is to have you and what not. But I wanted to get to know you. From you. Tell me about yourself, Y/N. I wanna know why Joe loves you so much."
The way he speaks comes for a place of genuine interest. Joe talks about Knies a lot at home. They are close and you can tell how much they care about each other from what you see in games and what Joe tells you. You both fall into easy conversation and... let's just say, Joe takes notice.
The back wall of JT's home is lined with big glass sliding doors leading to the backyard. The guys standing outside have perfect view of everything going on inside, like it's one massive movie.
Joe looks over his shoulder. You're normally okay in social situations but with the amount of new people here, he wanted to make sure you were still having a good time. He finds you sitting over by the fireplace and at first, doesn't even notice Kniesy sitting there beside you. He is just taking in how beautiful you are. The way your smile lights up the room. The way your eyes sparkle. Everything about you reminds him why he fell in love with you in the first place. You are truly an angel on earth.
Suddenly, he looks to the left of you and sees Knies. Now, Joe isn't a possessive man by nature. The oldest of three children meant a lot of sharing as a child. But you sitting there with Knies makes him nervous. And for good reason. Knies is an attractive man who is much closer in age to you than he himself is. The age difference between the two of you never really bothered him before but it did now. Not that he was insecure about anything. He was just... worried. That's allowed, right?
"Hey, Knies, enjoying my girlfriend's company?" he says as he walks up to you. It's not a confrontational comment but he wants it to take him aback a little bit. You look up a little confused and Knies nods, "Yeah, she's amazing, man. Can't believe you bagged her". He nods and takes a seat next to you. "Isn't she?" he responds, putting his arm around you and kissing your cheek. "Joey, stop that. I'm trying to talk to Kniesy," you giggle as his stubble tickles your face. Joe nods and smiles, "Just reminding him you're mine". He the turns to his best friend, saying, "Don't get any ideas, kid," before getting up and walking away. It's a subtle act but he knows he got his message across. Even if he had nothing to worry about before, he definitely has nothing to worry about now.
You notice no animosity between Joe and Knies through the night and by the time you're ready to head out, they are giggling like school girls over stat they looked up on Joe's phone. You walk over and lean down to whisper, "Time to go, Joey,".
The process of leaving is easy. Everyone says good bye, you hug everyone and you all exchange the customary "we have to hang out more" before heading to the car. Joe hands you the keys because he's too drunk to drive and you get settled into the driver's seat.
Before you leave the driveway, you ask, "Joe, what was all that about with Knies earlier?". He looks over at you briefly and then down at his hands, like an ashamed child.
"I'm sorry, baby. I just felt... weird. It's no mystery there's a bit of a gap between our ages and Knies is so much closer in age to you than I am. I got nervous you'd realize how old I really am and leave me for... a younger model like him," he looks back up at you towards the end of his explanation.
You sigh and reply, "Joe, you're not old. 26 is not old at all. And even if our age difference bothered me, which it doesn't, I wouldn't leave you for Knies. Trust me, if we don't last forever, I won't date another hockey player ever. I love you, Joe. Don't worry. I'm yours."
He smiles and kisses your hand, "That's right, baby girl, you're mine".

MASTERLIST & REQUEST GUIDELINES
You've had your eyes on Rick Grimes, not that it was anything new. Since Atlanta, really. You couldn't help but stare, even though you knew you shouldn't.
Maybe you did because the world was falling apart, and Rick was still trying to hold it all together right from the start. But then again, maybe it was just the way he wore that sheriff's hat when there was no law anymore, the way his eyes caught yours when you least expected it, and the way it made your heart race.
So when you saw him now, talking to Shane and Lori in the distance, you couldn't help but keep your gaze completely on him, your thoughts wandering to places they probably shouldn't.
You weren't stupid. You knew Rick was married, and you knew that Lori was his wife. Hell, everyone knew that, but it didn't stop the fire that started to rage inside of you every time you looked at him.
But the moment you saw the gun in Carl's hand, your jaw dropped.
And as you watched part of the group gather around himâLori's voice rising in panic and irritation while Rick was trying to stay calmâsomething made you act and get a little closer.
"So on top of everything else, he lied," Lori snapped, her hands thrown up in the air like she couldn't handle another goddamn thing after everything that had happened so far.
Dale's voice, meanwhile, was surprisingly calm. "Well, it's my fault. I let him into the RV. He said he wanted a walkie, that you sent him for one."
You could tell Lori wasn't buying it, her face full of disbelief. But Rick didn't flinch. He just looked tiredâdrained, reallyâlike this was the last thing he needed today. He rubbed the back of his neck, eyes half-lidded with exhaustion. You noticed the dark circles under his eyes, how his shoulders seemed to carry the weight of this new world.
"I'm not comfortable with it," Lori continued, her voice higher now, demanding. "Oh, don't make me out to be the unreasonable one here. Rick?"
Rick let out a long, heavy sigh, his eyes finally looking from Lori to Carl and back. "I know. I have my concerns too, but..."
Lori immediately jumped on him. "There's no but! He was just shot! He's just back on his feet, and he wants a gun?"
Rick's jaw clenched, but he didn't back down. "Better than him being afraid of âem. There are guns in camp for a reason. He should learn to handle them safely."
Lori's anger almost boiled over. "I don't want my kid walking around with a gun!"
And you? You couldn't stop yourself from speaking up, too. "But Rick's right, Lori," you said, stepping forward. "This is about survival."
Lori's eyes snapped to you, narrowing as if she hadn't realized you were even standing there. "And who in the whole wide world asked you for your opinion when it comes to my family?"
You met her gaze head-on. "I'm just saying, if Carl's going to be out there, he needs to know how to defend himself."
Rick looked at you as wellâbriefly, but enough to make your heart skip a beat. He didn't say anything, but there was approval in his eyes before he turned back to Lori.
"Look, Carl's not a child anymore," he continued. "He's gotta start understanding this world, Lori. You can't keep sheltering him."
Lori's face was turning red a little, the argument getting more personal now. "Then he needs to act like one," she snapped, her hands on her hips. "He's not mature enough to handle a gun!"
Carl stood a little straighter, trying to defend himself. "I'm not gonna play with it, Mom!"
But it wasn't just about Carl and the gun. It was about something that no one wanted to talk about, but everyone else seemed to notice.
And you knew that the cracks in their marriage were getting bigger. You couldn't help but wonder how long it would take before one of them stepped out.
Rick shifted his weight, his brows furrowing slightly as he looked at Lori. "We can't keep treating Carl like a little kid. Not in this world. He needs to grow up, and fast."
"Exactly. Just give it a rest, Lori."
Your words made all eyes look at you.
"I'm sorry?" She demanded, voice rising. "How about you stay out of this?"
You crossed your arms, still not backing down.
"No, give it a rest. Carl's not a damn baby. This world's gone to hell, and you're still acting like he's gonna be safe because you tell him to stay put."
Meanwhile, Shane smirked at you. But you didn't care about him right now.
"Excuse me, but this is my son we're talking about. Not yours!"
"Oh, we all know that," you snapped, stepping closer. "You just don't want him to grow up because then he won't need Mommy holding his hand anymore."
Her mouth dropped open, stunned silent.
You didn't stop.
"I'm just saying⌠Rick's right. Shane as well. He needs to learn how to survive. But go ahead. Let's see how well that works when a walker gets too close and he'll turn. Because from where I stand, you don't get it, do you? Carl's not a fucking baby. If you think this world's going to get any better, you're out of your damn mind."
"You're just a teenager," she responded, putting her hands on her hips like she was somehow superior to you. "What do you know?"
"I'm not." You stepped forward. "I know a hell of a lot more than you give me credit for. Maybe it's time you stop playing the victim and realize we all have to step up, not just Carl. It's not his fault he's growing up in this nightmare."
Shane and Rick stayed silent, but you could feel their eyes on you. You didn't care. Lori was the one who'd been pissing you off for days, and it was time someone called her out besides Daryl Dixon.
But Lori, fuming, turned on her heel and stormed off, just like that. And the moment she was gone, Rick let out a deep breath, clearly relieved that it was over for now.
He didn't speak to you at first, just glanced at you with that tired look on his face, like he had no idea what to say. Then, his voice came out soft, like it had to fight its way through his exhaustion.
"Thanks," he said, the corner of his mouth showing a tiny hint of a smile. He didn't say much, but it was enough.
You nodded, smiling at him in return. "No problem."
Rick gave you one last look before turning away, and you couldn't help but stare after him, your heart pounding.
The hours dragged on, the heat making you sweat. You leaned against the side of the porch, arms crossed, watching the others from a distance. Maggie and Glenn had just left, but you weren't paying attention to them. You were lost in your thoughts, as usual.
Letting out a slow breath, you stared at the dirt beneath your feet, the faintest trace of dust swirling around. It felt like the world was always watching you, but you never seemed to matter. They all looked right past you like you were invisible at best.
You were supposed to be part of this group, right? But somehow, you always felt like an outsider. Even back in Atlanta, when the world was stillâwell, a little bit more normalâyou didn't fit in. The others saw you somehow as a kid. Just a teenager, no matter how much you tried to prove otherwise. Hell, you were an adult now, having had your birthday already, but no one ever seemed to treat you that way.
"Jim was the only one who ever really talked to me," you said to yourself, shaking your head. "Before he got bit, anyway."
You let the memory of Jim come back. He has been looking out for you, always making sure you were safe. You used to hate how it felt like pity, but now? Now, you'd give anything to have that feeling again.
But the others? Rick, Lori, Shane, Dale, and the restâthey didn't see you that way. They saw you as a kid to protect. A burden.
You rolled your eyes, fighting the frustration that threatened to come back, too. "Dale? Yeah, he used to look out for me too. But as soon as Andrea came into the picture, it was like I didn't even exist anymore. It's always the same. There's always someone else. Maggie's got Glenn. Shane's still got his thing with Lori⌠And Rick?"
Your heart raced at the thought of him. You didn't want it to, but it did. And you couldn't help yourself. "Rick⌠he doesn't even see me. Not really. Looking at me, sure. But he's too busy playing the damn sheriff, trying to keep this group together."
Your fingers twitched at your sides, fighting the urge to run your hands through your hair. You shook your head again, clearing the thoughts.
"God, what the hell's wrong with me?" You laughed, taking a slow breath. "It's not like I'm a kid anymore. I'm not some⌠little girl."
You let out another bitter laugh. "Now I'm just here, stuck in the background. Glenn and Maggie? Yeah, they've already got each other. They've got this⌠thing. And they're gonna keep it, just like the rest of âem, while I'm left here. Alone."
It wasn't fair. Why did they all get to find something? Why did they get to find a connection while you were stuck in the circle of getting replaced?
You closed your eyes for a second, trying to shake the feeling off. It wasn't like you wanted to be envious. But you couldn't help it.
"Maybe Rick could see me," you said, the words slipping out before you could stop them. "But he probably doesn't even know I'm here. Probably sees me as some damn kid still."
You laughed again, softer now, but still sounding bitter. "He's too busy with Lori. They've got their shit to figure out, and I'm just the quiet one in the background. Not important."
But the thought stayed anyway. What if he did see you? What if, for once, you weren't invisible to him?
"God, what I'd do just to feel himâ" you whispered to yourself. You imagined the heat of his chest pressing against yours, the weight of his hips pressing against yours, the way he might growl your name as you wrapped your legs around him, desperate to feel him inside you. So fucking desperate.
Still, you shoved that thought away before it could go any further. But the yearning, that ache in your chest, stayed. The more you thought about it, the more you wanted to make him see you. You wanted him to see you as something more than just the girl in the background. Something worth noticing.
You were about to slip back into your head, your thoughts wandering down that dangerous path againâthe one where you imagined Rick's arms around you, his body pressing into yours, his lips on yours, and him finally losing controlâwhen you heard footsteps stopping right next to you.
You snapped out of it just in time to see Dale passing by. He didn't seem to notice you at first, his focus on whatever task was occupying his mind, but as he got closer, his eyes looked to yours.
It was as if he could see right through you and every goddamn thought you were trying to hide.
"What's on your mind, kid?"
Dale certainly had his way of catching people off guard.
You stiffened, unsure whether to answer. He wasn't the type to push too hard, but you had this feeling that he knew exactly what was going on in your head. You didn't want him to see that side of you, the side that couldn't help but fantasize about things better left unsaid. He'd always been kind to you, like a father. But since Andrea, that kindness felt almost like a trap.
You bit your lip, trying to play it cool. "Nothing, just... thinking," you grumbled, trying to wave it off. But you could feel the heat creeping up your cheeks, the telltale blush that was always there when your thoughts went to places they shouldn't.
Dale didn't buy it. Of course, he didn't. He took another step toward you, his hands resting lightly on his hips. He studied you, his expression unreadable.
"Thinking about what, exactly?" His voice had that certain tone, the one that made you feel like you couldn't hide anything from him, no matter how hard you tried.
You swallowed, the words almost slipping out before you could stop them. "I don't know... Just the way things are, I guess," you answered, noticing the vulnerability in your voice despite your best efforts.
His gaze softened for a moment, but you knew he was too smart for his own good. Too perceptive.
"You know," he began slowly, eyes looking around to make sure no one else was around, "I don't blame you for feeling the way you do. It's not easy... watching others find what they need while you're stuck in the background. But don't mistake that frustration for something more."
You tensed up again, your heart pounding in your chest. "What do you mean?" You asked, the words coming out meaner than you intended.
Dale's expression didn't change, but he shook his head. And him shaking his head always told you he was about to say something you weren't sure you wanted to hear. "I think you know exactly what I'm talking about. But you might want to be careful, kid. You shouldn't want something that is not for free."
You felt your heart drop. "Iâ" You were about to deny it, about to play it off as just your imagination, but something about the way Dale was looking at you made you freeze. His voice wasn't sounding accusatory, but more like a quiet warning. He wasn't angry; he wasn't judging. But the way he said itâlike he knewâmade you feel exposed and uncomfortable.
Dale let out a quiet sigh when you didn't continue. "You're not the first one to want something you can't have, but that doesn't mean it's a good idea to act on it. Sometimes, it's better to let things go. Before they end up biting you in the ass."
The words hit you like a slap to the face. You opened your mouth to respond, but the words got caught in your throat. What the hell was he talking about? Was he warning you off Rick? Was he implying that you had no chance?
But Dale just shook his head, as if reading your thoughts. "I'm not saying it's wrong to feel things. But sometimes, wanting something too badly can make you do stupid shit. And trust me, I know all about that."
The way he said it made you wonder if he was speaking from more than just observation. But before you could pry any further, Dale patted you on the shoulder and smiled.
"Just keep your head on straight, okay?" And then, with one last look, he turned and walked away, leaving you standing there, feeling like a damn fool.
Your mind raced, a million thoughts colliding at once. It was like Dale had read your mind like he knew exactly what you were thinkingâwhat you were feeling. But the fact that he was still treating you like a kid, even though you were an adult, didn't sit right. And it sure as hell didn't help that you couldn't stop thinking about Rick, no matter how much you tried to distract yourself.
Dale had a point, in some ways. But the thing wasâyou didn't want to just sit on the sidelines anymore. And if you were going to make that happen, it was only a matter of time before someone noticed. But the nerve of him, acting like he had it all figured out like he knew you better than you knew yourself? That made you stomp after him.
"Why don't you mind your own damn business for once?" You snapped, the words slipping out before you could stop them.
Dale paused mid-step, his shoulders stiffening. He didn't turn around, didn't say anything. For a moment, it looked like he might, but then he just shook his head and kept walking farther and farther away.
He didn't get it. None of them did. And the worst part? He was right about one thingâyou did want something you shouldn't. Something you couldn't stop thinking about.
With a frustrated huff and clenched fists, you turned on your heel and made your way back toward your tent. You didn't want to think about Dale, or Rick, or anyone else right now. You just wanted to disappear for a while, to escape the constant heat of the sun and the weight of everyone's expectations.
The air inside your tent was stale due to the summer heat, but it was offering at least a bit of privacy. You kicked off your boots, collapsing onto the sleeping pad. Sleep came slowly, your mind still racing with thoughts of Rickâhis smile, his walk, the way his lips would feel against your skin. You could almost hear his voice, whispering things only you were meant to hear.
Eventually, exhaustion won out, dragging you into a restless nap.
Later, you woke up to the sound of raised voices outside your tent. Blinking against the midday light that made its way through tiny holes in your tent, you pushed yourself up, groggy and a little disoriented.
Maggie's voice rang out, louder this time. "Hey! We got your stuff."
You moved toward the edge of the tent, peering out just enough to catch the scene unfolding near you. Maggie stood there, fuming, looking frustrated and angry. Glenn was right behind her, looking like he wanted to disappear.
"Maggie, hang on, please," Glenn urged nervously, but Maggie wasn't having it.
"Come on in here," Lori started, but Maggie cut her off. "We got your special delivery right here! We got your lotion, got your conditioner, your Soap Opera Digest!"
"MaggieâŚ" Lori answered, but Maggie wasn't done.
"Next time you want something, get it your damn self! We're not your errand boys!"
"Honey, Iâ" Lori tried again, but Maggie wasn't listening, fumbling with something in her hands.
"And here's your abortion pills!" She practically spat the words, throwing the pills onto the ground before storming off.
Glenn seemed to hesitate before he turned and followed Maggie into the farmhouse.
You let out a breath you didn't realize you'd been holding, your heart pounding in your chest. Maggie's words came back to your mind, louder with each passing second: Next time you want something, get it your damn self.
The frustration in her voice, the angerâit struck a chord in you.
Get it your damn self...
Your mind started to race, the thoughts clicking into place. Maybe Maggie was right. If you wanted something, maybe it was time to stop sitting around waiting for it to happen. Maybe it was time to do something about it.
And you knew exactly what you wanted.
You'd been sitting on the sidelines long enough, letting everyone else call the shots, letting yourself fade into the background. Not anymore.
The sound of the farmhouse door got your attention. You peered out, catching sight of Glenn stepping back onto the porch, his head low, before leaving Maggie standing there alone in the doorway.
She didn't move, didn't look aroundâjust stared out at the fields as if she were trying to will the world into something more manageable.
You saw your chance and took it.
Stepping out into the relentless sun, you made your way toward her, keeping your expression neutral. "Hey," you called softly as you approached, keeping your voice light but just concerned enough. "You okay?"
Maggie glanced at you, her brows furrowing for a split second before she sighed, letting her arms drop to her sides. "Yeah," she answered, though the tone of her voice betrayed her. "Just tired of cleaning up other people's messes."
You gave her a small, understanding smile. "I get that," you said, leaning casually against the porch railing beside her. "Lori's got a way of rubbing people the wrong way."
That got a short, bitter laugh out of her. "You don't say?"
For a moment, the two of you stood there in silence. You wiped a bead of sweat from your temple, exaggerating the motion just enough to get Maggie's attention.
"God, it's too damn hot for this," you said, fanning yourself half-heartedly. "I swear, if I have to spend another day in these jeans around here, I'm gonna lose my mind."
Maggie glanced at you, her frustration softening just a bit. "Tell me about it," she said, running a hand through her hair. "Feels like I've been roasting all day. But I'm used to it."
You hesitated, letting the silence be just long enough before tilting your head slightly as if having an idea. "Hey, you wouldn't happen to have anything lighter, would you? I didn't exactly pack for a heatwave and a vacation on a farm, and I'm about ready to cut these jeans into shorts."
Maggie blinked, caught off guard by the question, but then shrugged. "Actually⌠I might," she said, her tone thoughtful. "I've got some sundresses I don't wear. They're just hanging around in my closet."
You tried not to let your excitement show, keeping your expression casual as you said, "Really? That'd be amazing. I'd owe you big time for that."
Maggie waved a hand dismissively. "Don't worry about it," she said, turning toward the door. "C'mon, I'll grab a few for you. You're right; it's too hot for jeans. At least, for you city folks."
You followed her into the house before Maggie disappeared into another room, returning a minute later with a handful of sundresses draped over her arm. She held them out to you with a small smile. "Here. I doubt they'll fit perfectly, but they should be lighter than what you've got."
You took the dresses, running your fingers over the fabric as you smiled up at her. "These are perfect. Thanks, Maggie."
She shrugged, brushing it off. "No big deal. Like I said, I don't wear 'em anyway."
You held the dresses close, already imagining how they'd feel against your skin, how they'd cling just enough to make an impression without giving too much away. You knew exactly how you'd use them, and the thought sent a thrill through you.
"Seriously," you said, your smile widening. "Thank you."
Maggie nodded, her own smile small but genuine. "Anytime," she responded, her tone lighter now. "And heyâdon't let Lori get to you, too. She doesn't need to drag you into her bullshit too."
You laughed softly, nodding. "Trust me, I'm staying out of it. And away from her."
She gave you one last look, then turned and headed toward the kitchen, leaving you standing there in the doorway with the dresses and a plan forming in your mind.
Maggie had no idea what she'd just handed you once you stepped back outside. And if things went the way you intended, neither would Rickâat least, not at first.
The next morning, you slipped into the sundress that clung to you the most like a second skin, its fabric so light it felt almost indecent. The hem barely grazed mid-thigh, and you couldn't help but smirk at the way it looked on you.
This wasn't just a dressâit was bait. Especially since you decided to wear nothing underneath.
You'd barely stepped out of your tent before the heat of the day and the sun beat down mercilessly. The farm was quiet for now, everyone busying themselves with chores or trying to escape the relentless summer. It was the perfect opportunity to set your plan in motion.
You made your way toward the chicken coop, a basket in hand, one of the tasks you'd kept yourself occupied with as of late. Rick was nearby, fixing something with T-Dog, but you didn't look at himânot yet. Let him notice you first.
Crouching by the coop, you reached for an egg near the far corner, deliberately leaning in farther than necessary. The hem of the dress lifted just enough to expose the curve of your naked ass, the sun warming your skin. You pretended not to notice as you heard footsteps slow down behind you before turning to glance over your shoulder. Rick stood several feet away, holding a tool, his expression unreadable.
"Morning, Rick," you said casually, your lips curving into the hint of a smile.
He cleared his throat, nodding. "Morning. You, uh... need any help with that?"
You shook your head, holding up an egg. "Think I can handle it just fine. But thanks." Your tone was sweet, almost innocent, but you knew what you were doing.
Rick blinked several times and gave you another nod before turning back toward T-Dog.
For just a second, his mind betrayed himâan image burning itself into it that was just too quick to stop. You, bent over right there in the dirt, the dress pushed up around your waist, his hands gripping your hips hard enough to leave bruises. His cock buried so deep inside you, those soft little noises you'd whimper, and the feeling of your hot, sweat-slicked skin in the heat of the sun.
Rick swallowed hard, shaking it off like a man burned. Fuck. He needed to get his head on straight.
You bit back a grin as you watched him walk away, his shoulders all tense, his grip on the tool just a little too strong.
Gotcha.
The rest of the day passed in much the same way. You found little excuses to be near him, brushing by just close enough for your bare arm to graze his, or bending over to grab something at just the right angle to make his gaze wander. Every time, his reaction was the sameâquick glances, tense shoulders, and a faint blush that made its way to his cheeks.
By the time the sun began to set slowly, you were sitting on the porch with one leg crossed over the other, staring out at the farm and admiring the beautiful surroundings until you were sure no one was really around anymore.
Waiting until Rick was alone now, especially with Shane nowhere in sight, you adjusted the straps of the sundress, letting it slip just a little further down your shoulders, and walked toward him.
"Rick?" You called out, your voice soft enough that he had to turn fully to hear you. His eyes looked up, immediately following the curves of your body before moving back to your face. He hesitated for a moment, swallowing hard.
"Yeah?" He replied, quite distracted.
You stopped a few feet away from him, tilting your head. "This may sound weird, but I was wondering⌠Shane's usually the one teaching people how to shoot, right?"
Rick nodded slowly, his brows furrowing. "Yeah. Shane's the best instructor I know. I've seen him teach kids even younger than Carl. Why?"
"Well, I thought maybe I should learn, too. I know, I know... I can shoot, but I was thinking it wouldn't hurt to learn it from someone who actually knows how to handle a weapon. You know, in case I ever need to protect myself even better." You smiled sweetly, shifting your weight to one hip so the fabric of your dress clung more to your curves. "But Shane's nowhere to be found. I think he's away and teaching Andrea today; I'm not sure. Think you could show me?"
Rick's jaw twitched as he glanced past you as if looking for an escape. "I... yeah, I haven't seen him half of the day, either, and Andrea neither, so I guess I could do that. But not for long. The sun is setting already. C'mon, follow me."
You grinned, stepping a little closer. "Thanks, Sheriff Grimes. I'd feel a lot safer knowing I can really handle a gun. You never know when things might go south, after all." Your hand touched his arm lightly as he turned, leading the way toward the area they chose for training.
By the time you reached the spot, Rick handed you a silenced pistol, his fingers brushing yours. His hand lingered just a second too long, and you caught the slight hitch in his breath as you turned it over in your hands.
"Alright," he said, stepping behind you. "First, you need to get a good grip on it. Keep your finger off the trigger until you're ready to fire. Always treat it like it's loaded. Never point it at anything you don't want to shoot. Got it?"
You pretended to fumble with the gun, tilting it awkwardly in your hand. "Like this?" You asked, glancing over your shoulder at him with wide, innocent eyes.
Rick sighed, stepping closer until his chest almost pressed against your back. "No," he grumbled. "Here, let me..."
His hands slid over yours, guiding your fingers into place. His touch was firm, and you leaned back ever so slightly, your ass pressing against his hips.
Rick just froze.
You bit your lip, trying to appear oblivious as you shifted again, this time pressing yourself more insistently against him. The fabric of the dress left nothing between you, and you didn't miss the way he stiffenedânot just his body, but the unmistakable hardness of his cock growing against you.
"Careful. Stand still."
"Sorry," you answered, shifting just enough to grind back against him, pretending to be clumsy. "I guess I'm not as good at this as I thought."
His hands tightened on your arms. "Stop that," he said, hissing slightly, but his voice betrayed him. It was strained like he was fighting with himself.
You didn't stop. You pressed back again, slower this time, letting the movement seem unintentional. "Stop what?" You asked, your voice soft and sweet, playing dumb.
Rick groaned softly, the sound barely audible, but you caught it. "PutâŚ" He growled, stepping back suddenly. "Put the gun down. And follow me."
You obeyed, putting the gun down and letting him lead you toward the chicken coop.
It felt like Rick's hand was swallowing yours whole as he yanked you along, half-dragging, half-guiding you further behind the chicken coop. His boots crunched against the dry dirt, and your sandals barely made a sound as you stumbled to keep up.
The second you were fully out of sight, Rick spun on you, backing you into the wall. The coop creaked under the sudden impact, dust kicking up between the cracks. The secluded spot was shaded with shadows by now, with only the last rays of sunlight shining onto the ground.
"The hell do you think you're doin'?" His voice was strained, every word coming out with irritation.
You blinked up at him, pretending to be innocent, but your lips couldn't help but curl into a smirk. "What do you mean? I don't understand."
His eyes were dropping for a split secondâjust a secondâto your breasts, where the sundress clung to your skin, nipples already hard.
He didn't even bother hiding it now.
Rick turned on you, his jaw clenched, his eyes scanning you like he was trying to figure out what to do with you.
"I just asked you⌠What the hell do you think you're doing?"
You shrugged. "And I don't know what you mean. What are you talking about, Rick?"
"The hell you don't," he shot back, stepping closer.
You took a step closer as well, your heart pounding in your chest. "So what if I do?" You challenged him, your voice barely above a whisper. "What are you gonna do about it, Sheriff Grimes?"
His eyes narrowed just slightly before he grabbed your arm, his grip firm but not painful. "You don't understand," he said, his voice rough. "You'reâ"
"An adult," you cut in, rolling your eyes. "I'm not even a teenager anymore! And I'm damn well not a fucking child! Stop pretending I am!"
His jaw clenched, his eyes searching yours. Your lips parted, but no words came out. The heat in his gaze made your stomach flutter, the sheer anger in them somehow making your knees weak.
"Sorry..." You blinked up at him. "But I just wanted to learn how to shoot. How to be even better at shooting, I mean."
"Oh, don't play dumb," he snapped back. "You're getting way too closeâ"
"Too close?" You cut off his words as you pressed your chest against his. "I don't think it's close enough, Rick."
"No. This ain't right. You're justâ"
"Don't," you interrupted again. "Don't. I'm not. And you know it."
His resolve cracked. His breath was brushing along your cheek as he leaned in, closer than before, but with that same stern look on his face. "You think I didn't notice? Walking around in that little dress, no fuckin' bra, no damn panties. Flashing' your ass, rubbing' up on me with your tits like some goddamnâ"
"Like some what?" You interrupted, tilting your head. "Say it."
Rick's nostrils flared. He didn't know what to answer, didn't know how to act, but that smirk on your face?
That made him act.
Rick's hand shot out, gripping your hip, fingers digging in hard enough to bruise. His other hand shoved up beneath your dress, squeezing the curve of your naked ass.
"Fuckin' knew it," he hissed like he was angry at himself for being right.
But he didn't move away. His thumb was pressing against your hipbone, the callouses of it scratching your skin.
"You think I ain't got more important shit to deal with right now?" He snapped, but it was weak, crumbling. "Like searching for Sophia?"
"Of course you do. But you also need to relax from time to time, Rick," you purred, voice as sweet as syrup, fingers sliding up his chest, feeling his heart beating through the sweat-damp fabric. "You're wound up so tight, it's gotta hurt after a while."
He laughedâloud, humorless. "Yeah? And you think you're the solution?"
You leaned in, lips ghosting over the stubble on his jaw. "I could be."
Rick's hand slid higher, fingers tracing the curve of your spine, dragging your body closer until your hips met his. You felt itâhis cockâhard and thick, pressing against your stomach. He wasn't fooling anyone.
But still, he held back, teeth grinding.
"This isn't a good idea," he muttered, voice strained.
You rolled your hips, slow and deliberate, grinding against him, feeling the twitch in his cock through his pants. "Feels like a good idea to me."
"Jesus f-fuckâŚ" He stuttered, but he didn't move.
You pulled back just enough to look him in the eye, your smirk softening into a warm smile. "Unless⌠you can't handle it."
Rick's eyes snapped to yours. For a moment, the world stood stillâthe distant voices near the house, the rustle of leaves, and even the clucking of chickens felt far away.
He leaned in, so close his lips barely brushed yours when he spoke.
"Don't fuckin' test me. This is wrong." His voice was almost a growl. "I got a wife. I got a son."
You could feel the words scraping his throat like they physically hurt coming out.
"Oh, now you remember?" You shot back, eyes narrowing. "That didn't stop you from staring every damn time I bent over. Since Atlanta."
Rick flinched, just barely, but it was there. His grip slipped for half a second before tightening again.
"Don'tâ"
"What? Tell the truth? You don't want me to tell the truth?" You leaned in, voice dropping to a whisper again. "You've been watching me. You think I didn't notice? The way your eyes stared at me, the way you tensed up when I walked by?"
Rick's jaw was clenched so tight you thought it might dislocate itself.
"Doesn't matter," he spat out, like saying it again would make it real, make it matter. "I'm married."
"Yeah? And Lori's really faithful, huh?"
His whole body went still. Rigid.
"Just," he warned, but his voice had lost its bite. "Just stop it."
"I'm just saying!" You tilted your head. "Maybe I'm not the only one who's been looking for⌠comfort. And I bet you know it and knew it for some time now."
Rick didn't say a word. His grip on you loosened for a second, and that was all the opening you needed.
"What's the matter, Rick? Don't like hearing the truth? You really think Shane's out there teaching Andrea how to shoot right now? Or is he too busy teaching Lori how to fuck like a married woman should? Who knows, right?"
Rick's breath hitchedâjust barelyâbut it was enough.
"Yeah. That's what I thought. You're really still holding onto that lie of a marriage, aren't you?" You pressed, leaning in just a little closer. "That picture-perfect family you've convinced yourself is still intact while the world's gone to shit?"
You didn't miss how his chest rose and fell faster, heavier.
"Fuck you," he spat, but it wasn't angerâit was defeat. Frustration.
"Maybe you should."
That was it.
He lunged forward, smashing his mouth against yours, teeth clashing, lips bruising. It wasn't a kissâit was punishment, it was desperation, it was everything all at once.
His hands were everywhereâone tangled in your hair, yanking your head back, the other gripping your ass so hard you swore he'd leave marks.
You gasped against him, but it only opened you up for more, his tongue forcing its way past your lips, deep and unforgiving.
Your hands clawed at his shirt, nails scraping against the sweaty fabric, trying to pull him closer, closer, like there was any space left between you.
Rick shoved you harder against the chicken coop wall as you hooked a leg around his hip, grinding up against the length of his hard cock.
"Just⌠just keep it quiet," he growled against your skin. "Or someone'll hear."
But the risk made it more exciting.
Your hips ground into his, chasing friction, and Rick groaned, biting down on your shoulder to muffle it in desperation. He seemed caught between wanting to shove you away and drag you closer.
"This isn't rightâŚ" He whispered, more to himself than to you. His hands kept you in place, fingers digging into your body. "You may be an adult, but you're still too young for me."
You huffed a laugh, breathing against his neck. "But not too young for you to stare at, huh?"
Both his hands moved before his mind could catch up, gripping your hips and suddenly lifting you like you weighed nothing. You gasped, both of your legs instinctively wrapping around his waist, the sundress riding up to your hips, leaving nothing between you but his jeans straining against his cock.
Rick slammed you back against the chicken coop with force before his mouth was on yours againâmessy, wet, desperate. One hand anchored under your ass while the other slid up, muffling the needy sounds coming from your lips against his shoulder.
You barely had a second to catch your breath before he was undoing his belt with one hand, fumbling, cursing quietly under his breath. The sound of it opening, the noise of a zipper, and then he was free, thick and hard, pressing hard and insistent against you, twitching and leaking.
He hesitated for a fraction of a second, forehead pressed to yours, his breathing ragged.
"This is your last chance to tell me to stop," he growled out, barely holding it together.
Your answer was a slow, greedy roll of your hips against him.
That was all it took.
Rick pushed into you in one hard, punishing thrust, splitting you open around him, filling you so deep with his cock that it knocked the breath straight from your lungs.
Your muffled cry was swallowed against his shoulder still, his hand on the back of your head pushing you against him, his teeth sinking into the curve of your neck to silence the groan that tore from his own throat.
"Shit," he hissed, voice ragged, hips slamming into yours again, harder this time as you clamped your legs around his hips. "So fuckin' tight..."
You clung to him, nails digging into his back, feeling the rough slide of his pants against the backs of your thighs with every brutal, deep thrust.
The chicken coop creaked behind you, every slap of his hips against yours making you think the noise may be way too loud in the warm summer air.
"Stay quiet," he growled again, but his voice was shaky, desperate. His hand didn't leave the back of your head, his palm sweaty against your disheveled hair.
But the riskâthe sheer danger and wrongness of itâonly made you feel higher.
Anyone could walk by. Carol. Shane. Dale. Anyone else from the group. Even the Greenes.
But Rick didn't stop. Didn't slow down.
His grip on you tightened, bruising, holding you open and steady for him, driving into you over and over, harder, deeper.
The heat, the sweat, the sound of his labored breathing in your earâit was overwhelming, delicious. And exactly what you wanted.
"Goddamn itâŚ" He cursed to himself, his face still buried in your neck, teeth scraping against your sensitive skin.
But still, he held back. His pace was slow and deep, but he wasn't chasing the end of itâof thisânot yet.
It was punishment. It was control.
And it was slipping.
The way his breath hitched, the ragged growls that tore from his throatâhe was losing it, and you could feel it.
His hand remained firm against your mouth, but it wasn't as tight as before. His chest rose and fell quickly as if the restraint was killing him. His eyes, when he pulled his head back to look at you, opened for a moment. They were wild, like a man fighting against a storm that was brewing inside himself.
"You need to stop," he groaned, but the words sounded weak.
You arched into him, bouncing up and down on his cock in perfect rhythm, urging him on as you held on tight. "Me? And what about you? Are you sure you can, Rick?" Your voice was sweet and teasing, and it made his breath hitch. "You've been staring at me all this time. You've been fuckin' dreaming about this, haven't you?"
"Don't push me."
But you didn't listen. You never did.
One of your hands slid from his shoulder, down his chest, feeling him tense up even more. Slowly, you ran your fingers over his abs, letting him fuck you just the way he wanted to.
"What would Lori think if she saw us like this?" You suddenly whispered, eyes looking up to meet his as you bit your lower lip, leaning in closer. "Does she ever wonder why you look at me like that? Why you don't stop staring when I walk past? You think she's worried?"
Rick's whole body went still for a moment, but he stayed inside you. He let out a deep, controlled breath, but his eyes never left yours. You could see the fight in him, the battle to do the right thing, to not cross that line. But it was already crossedâcrossed faster than he'd ever care to admit.
You moved your hips against his all over, dragging a moan from him as your legs tightened around his waist. You knew exactly what you were doing to him.
The words were poison, but Rick was too far gone to stop himself from letting them sink in.
"Don't⌠don't talk about her."
You smirked, feeling a rush of power, the heat of the moment making your heart race faster. "But it's true, isn't it, Rick? She doesn't need to know about us. She's too busy with Shane, right? You wouldn't be here if you didn't know. You wouldn't want this ifâŚ"
His eyes narrowed at the mention of Shane, and you saw the doubt on his face. But then his hips moved, fucking into you harder, faster, almost like he was trying to drown out the words you'd said.
You slid one hand up to his face, fingers moving slowly along the line of his jaw, urging him to look at you. "You want this. You want me. You can't stop yourself, and I know it."
His hands clenched on your body, as if the weight of your words was pushing him further into that abyss he'd been fighting against. The pulse between your legs grew unbearable, the need for him, the craving for him deeper than before. You could feel his cock twitch inside you, his body barely holding on, his legs trying not to buckle, but still not giving in.
"You're wrongâŚ" He groaned, but his eyes told a different story. His breath was coming faster now, uneven, like he was trying to resist the inevitable. But the heat between you both couldn't be ignored.
Your mouth found his again, lips teasing, pressing against his in slow, sensual kisses. You moved against him once more, slow and deliberate, until he hissed, his grip tightening once again.
"Am I? Because⌠I think you like this," you whispered against his lips, your breath coming in shallow bursts of moans. "I think you like knowing you could still fuck me even with all the other shit going on. You love it."
His lips trembled against yours, him thrusting into you like he was trying to rid himself of any thought other than this, just the two of you at this moment.
"Because you've been teasing' me all damn day," he whispered as if he was choking on the words. "Walking around like that, letting me see everythingâ"
"Wanted you to look," you gasped, bouncing harder on him, shameless. "Wanted you to fuck me."
"Goddamn dress," Rick moaned as he squeezed you harder, his fingers digging into your flesh as he drove into you faster. "Knew you weren't wearin' a fuckin' thing under this. Knew you wanted me to see it."
"I did," you gasped, your words broken. "Wanted you toâoh, fuckâdo this!"
Rick's mouth found your neck, his beard scraping against your sensitive skin as he bit and kissed a sloppy trail along your throat. You could feel him everywhereâhis hands, his cock, his lipsâtaking you in a way that was so raw and desperate that it left you trembling and made it hard for your legs to keep holding on.
You bucked against him, rolling your hips in time with his, meeting him thrust for thrust as your moans grew a little bit louder, but Rick silenced you by crashing his mouth to yours, his tongue sliding against yours with the same urgency as his movements.
"I feel you," he then groaned against your lips, his voice cracking. His grip on your ass softened slightly as if he couldn't decide between fucking you senseless or worshipping you. "You're close, aren't you? You're gonna come for me, won't you?"
"Y-yes," you whimpered quietly, your nails raking over his shoulders through his shirt. "Rick, don't stopâplease, don't stopânot now."
His thrusts stopped for half a second, and then he suddenly slowed down, his thrusts deep and on purpose now, dragging out the feeling with every inch of his cock sliding into you. One of his hands slipped from your ass back to your lower back, pulling you impossibly closer, grinding his hips into yours so you could feel every bit of him.
"Come for me," he whispered, his lips brushing against your ear. His voice was softer now, gentler, but no less commanding. "Let me feel you... Let me see you fall apart on me."
You shattered with a silent cry, eyes wide, your body clenching around him as your orgasm ripped through you. Rick groaned, his grip tightening on you again as he kept moving, drawing out every shiver and whimper.
But he didn't stop. Not yet. You felt him still holding back, his cock throbbing inside you, a tiny drop of sweat rolling down his face. His thrusts slowed even further, almost agonizingly sensual now as if he was savoring every second.
"RickâŚ" You whispered, your voice hoarse, your fingers trying to hold on to his shoulders again. His eyes met yours once more, searching, and questioning, before he pulled back slightly, his forehead resting against yours, his thrusts slowing to a halt as he fought to regain control.
"I can't," he stammered. "Not yet."
He was still fighting it. Fighting you. And himself.
You shifted slightly, a sensual roll of your hips that made him hiss through his teeth. "Don't," he groaned, his voice strained. "You don't understand what you're doing, what this is gonnaâ"
"Oh, I understand perfectly," you interrupted. "I've been waiting for this all day, Rick. For so damn long. Don't hold back on me now."
Before he could protest, you were gripping his shoulders even harder. With one slow motion, you lifted yourself, feeling every inch of his cock slide out of your pussy, only to drop back down hard, taking him to the hilt again before starting to bounce up and down.
Rick cursed, the sound ripping from his throat as his head fell back, his eyes squeezing shut. His control cracked instantly, both his hands now holding on to your ass, gripping you like a lifeline as you were the one to set a punishing rhythm this time. You rode him with everything you had, grinding down on him as you bounced, the muscles of your thighs burning with the effort but your need driving you harder.
Each thrust drove him deeper, the head of his cock brushing against your G-spot that made you shudder and clench around him, tearing more broken curses from his lips.
"Goddamn it," he growled, his voice shaking. "You're gonnaâfuckâyou're gonna make meâ"
"That's the idea," you gasped, your nails raking down his shoulders and back. "Don't fight it, Rick. Let go."
His eyes snapped open, full of desperate need that sent a thrill through you. He was close, so close to the edge, and you wanted to push him over. You kept riding him, harder, faster, until his hands trembled against your ass, his breathing turning into whimpering, uneven moans.
And then, just as he tensed, his body going rigid beneath you, you stopped.
Rick's eyes flew open in shock, his hips jerking up instinctively as he chased the orgasm you'd just denied him. But you were already sliding off him with a smirk on your face.
He stood there with his pants shoved halfway down his hips, his cock hard and throbbing in your grip. His chest rose and fell like he'd just run a marathon, and yet, he still had this damn look on his face. Like he was trying to convince himself that none of this was happening. That he wasn't about to let you do this.
He'd already failed. Miserably.
"RickâŚ" You whispered, your voice teasing him on purpose, lips kissing the tip of his leaking cock as you looked up at him. Your fingers tightened their hold while sliding up his shaft, smearing the pre-cum around the tip.
He swallowed hard, his Adam's apple bobbing. For a second, his eyes looked out into the distance, scanning the open fields and the rest of the farm beyond the chicken coop. Guilt was seen on his face, written all over it, his jaw clenching.
But then his gaze dropped back to you, to your lips. To where you knelt in the dirt, the sundress bunched around your thighs, one hand holding his throbbing cock, and he knew there wasn't a single thing in the world that could stop him from wanting this right now.
"But⌠this isn't right," he still rasped, and his body betrayed him, a bead of pre-cum dripping down as you dragged your thumb along his tip again.
"Sure," you mumbled, leaning in to let your tongue lick across the head of his cock. He hissed through his teeth, his hands twitching at his sides like he wanted to pull you back but couldn't. "Because standing here with your dick in my hand after fucking me is real loyal of you, huh?"
Rick remembered Atlanta, finding Lori and Carl alive, the sheer relief that had made him feel like everything was about to feel right in the world again. But that feeling had disappeared quickly, hadn't it?
He hadn't forgotten the way Shane had actedâshocked, possessive, protective, too close to Carl and his wife. And Lori? Somewhat distant and confused. He wasn't stupid. He could see it. Feel it. Something had been broken long before he ever came back.
And now here you were. Young, bold, shameless. A part of him wanted to shove you away, to walk the hell back to the farmhouse, and pretend this never happened.
But you looked up at him like he was the last man on Earth. Like he was everything. And that hunger in your eyesâhe hadn't felt wanted and desired like that in years. Maybe ever.
You leaned in again, pressing your tongue flat against the underside of his cock, dragging it up slowly, savoring every inch of him like he was only yours to take. Rick groaned, his hand snapping out to grab the back of your head.
"Fuckâdon't stop," he breathed, his voice cracking.
You wrapped your lips around his cock, taking him in deep, slow at first, letting him feel the wet heat of your mouth. His hips bucked involuntarily, his shaft pushing deeper, hitting the back of your throat.
But when you raised your hand to grip him tighter again, Rick growled, grabbing your wrist and pulling it away. "Don't," he said quietly, shaking his head.
Instead, he gripped himself, holding his cock steady as he pressed the tip against your lips, smearing pre-cum across them. "Open," he ordered.
You did, letting your lips part wide, your tongue sliding out to meet him. Rick groaned again, his head falling back for a moment as he guided his cock into your mouth, pushing in deeper this time, fucking into your mouth slowly.
"Shit," he hissed through his teeth, his free hand still tangling in your hair as he held you still. "Youâshitâyou feel so goddamn good."
Your hands rested on his thighs now, nails digging in as you let him set the pace. It was messy, wet, sloppy. Spit dripped from the corners of your mouth, sliding down your chin as he thrust shallowly, just enough to keep himself right on the edge.
Rick couldn't think. Couldn't breathe. Couldn't stop.
All he could see was youâon your knees, looking up at him with those innocent eyes, lips stretched around his cock, taking him like you were made for it. And it felt so good it was almost unbearable.
"God, what the hell am I doingâŚ" He groaned quietly, his hips trembling. But he didn't stop. He couldn't. Not when you hollowed your cheeks, sucking him deeper, harder, your tongue working over him like you wanted to suck him empty.
His grip on your hair tightened, his cock twitching in your mouth as he fought to keep control. But when you moaned around him, the vibration shooting straight through him, he lost it.
Rick pulled back suddenly, his cock slipping from your mouth with a wet pop. You looked up at him, lips shiny, cheeks all red and flushed, as he stroked himself, his hand wet with your spit.
"You're gonna make me come," he groaned, his eyes locked on your lips.
He pressed the tip of his cock to your lips again, smearing the pre-cum across them, down your chin, his strokes turning faster and rougher. You opened your mouth, trying to take him back in, but Rick held you still, teasing himself against your lips, the head of his cock nudging against your tongue.
And then he came.
A loud moan escaped his throat as his cum shot all across your lips, so warm and thick. You stuck your tongue out, catching what you could, swallowing it greedily as he smeared the rest across your lips with the tip of his cock.
Rick was shaking, his body trembling as he pumped himself through it, every bit of tension leaving him as he watched you lick your lips clean, swallowing every drop.
He stood there, chest heaving, staring down at you like he couldn't believe what he'd just done.
"Shit," he whispered, running a hand through his sweaty hair.
You stood up slowly, brushing the dirt off your knees and adjusting the sundress. Rick's eyes followed your every move, staying on your lips, your throat, and the curve of your breasts. He looked like a man torn in two, his guilt battling with his loyalty.
"This⌠can't happen again," he said, finally breaking the silence. "Shouldn't."
You smirked, stepping closer, your hand moving along his chest, fingers toying with the open collar of his shirt before dropping to the waistband of his pants. The belt still hung loose, his zipper still undone, and you tugged on the leather lightly.
"Whatever you say, Sheriff Grimes."
Rick sucked in a quick breath as you leaned in, your lips kissing his cheek lightly. And then, just like that, you pulled back and walked away.
The sundress moved and swayed in the wind with every step, the warm summer breeze lifting it just enough to reveal your naked ass once more.
Rick stood there for a long moment, his chest still heaving, his mind a mess of want and guilt and so many more feelings he couldn't even name.
He reached down, adjusting himself with a shaky hand, tucking his cock back into his pants. The belt slipped from his fingers once before he managed to buckle it, fumbling with the leather as his legs threatened to give out again, not yet closing the zipper. Finally, he leaned back against the chicken coop, dragging his hands over his face.
What the hell had he just done?
His throat was dry, his whole body still shaking with the feeling of your touch. He'd always thought of himself as a good man, hadn't he? A loyal husband. A good father.
But standing there, with his pants still half-open and the taste of sin on his lips, he didn't feel like either.
As soon as Rick was about to leave, a sudden movement caught his eye, and his stomach dropped, twisting itself into a tight knot that made him want to vomit on the spot.
Shane.
The other man was walking back toward the tents, Andrea at his side and stumbling slightly behind him. Shane looked casual like he didn't have a care in the world, but as he looked around to scan the surroundings for any danger, his eyes immediately stayed on Rick.
For a second, they just stared at each other.
He felt exposed, uncomfortable, like Shane could see everythingâthe guilt written all over his face, the smell of sex still clinging to his skin and his clothes.
And then Shane's head moved, his eyes following Rick's line of sight.
You.
You were halfway back with walking to the tents now, the sundress fluttering in the breeze again, the curve of your bare ass showing itself for another second. Shane tilted his head, his expression unreadable, his mouth twitching like he was holding back a loud laugh.
Rick saw it, though. Right there, on Shane's face. Amusement? Judgment? Maybe a little of both.
By now, Rick felt like he was suffocating under the weight of it allâLori, Carl, you, Shane. Everything.
Because Shane was no saint. He knew that. It was like you had said before; he knew it for some time now. His best friend had slept with Lori, and maybe even wanted to take his place. But right now? Rick wasn't sure he was any better than him.
Rick pushed himself off the chicken coop, his boots kicking the dirt as he turned toward the farmhouse. He didn't say a word as he passed Shane, didn't even look at him.
But he could feel Shane's eyes on him, the smirk burning into the back of his skull like a brand.
And as Rick walked back toward the tent where Lori was sleeping with Carl at her side, his fists clenched while his heart was pounding, his mouth tasted dryâno, worseâlike you.
It tasted like sinâdevouring him whole.
á´á´á´Ęá´Ę's É´á´á´á´: I wrote this a bit quicker than usual. I know, I know, Iâm a slow writer, sorry about that! Please bear with me. I tried my best to clean up any repetition or grammar mistakes, and since this is my first Rick Grimes oneshot in a while, Iâm honestly a little nervous to even share it. I still feel like there might be some missing details or areas that couldâve been expanded more, but I hope you still enjoyed it.

You're Losing Me Pt.3 POLY 141 x Reader
TW: angst, mentioned rape, mentioned drug abuse, violence, alcoholism, crying, manipulation
prev part first part. next part
Wrapped around with a blanket, you lay on the couch singing all the breakup songs you know, pathetically. You didn't talk to your friends, called in sick at work, and haven't left the apartment since it happened. The only thing you had was Winston, the Taylor Swift vinyl on repeat that Johnny gifted you, and a cheap red wine that tasted like ass. You ordered some pizza so that something else keeps you company. When the bell rang, you didn't bother to put on a nice outfit. You went out with your tangled hair, your puffy swollen eyes, and Simon's ratty t-shirt that you couldnât bother to throw away; it just smelled like comfort to you.
You were surprised when you saw, instead of the delivery guy, Kyle in front of your house. He looked so unlike Kyle. He didn't have that cheeky smile you loved, and his clean pretty boy aesthetic was gone. His white shirt was full of blood, his jaw bruised, and your heart broke. That was your man - was.
"Do you want to collect your stuff?" You asked, it hurt you so bad to ask, but you needed to be strong. You didn't want to be like your mom who stayed with your Dad despite how often he cheated on her. You were strong and independent before you met them, you can reach this again.
"Babe, please."
"Don't do this to me, Kyle," don't make me love you, donât make me forgive you.
"Can I see at least Winston?" He asked, and that was a thing you couldn't deny. It was his dog too after all. You remembered how you rescued him together from a dog shelter. Everyone else would have said no, but Kyle loved animals just as much as you do. So you adopted that corgi, and you can regret many things but not your loyal dog.
"Come in,"Â you said, not bothering to apologize for the mess.
When Winston saw him, he jumped immediately on Kyle, and this made you smile for the first time in days. "What happened to your face?"
"Got in some fights around the base."
"Kyle, you never get into fights with coworkers. Look, just because we're not a thing anymore doesnât mean you need to sabotage your own life. Things like breakups happen, and I'm sure you will find a lovely girl." Your heart ached just thinking about them with another girl, all sharing and loving how they loved you.
"Don't want anyone else."
"Kyle."
"I mean it, I love you, and not just a bit. I know you're the right one. Tell me what you want, and I'll do it. Want me to quit the military? Easy. Want to punish me? Hurt me? I donât care. Want to never touch me again? Fine, I'll live my life without sex just to have you. Want me to marry you? Done. Why wait? Do you want me to kill that slag? I'll do it. You donât understand it; there is no such thing as too much for you. There isnât a thing I wouldnât do for you."
You were too stunned to speak, but by the look in his eyes, you knew he meant every word of it. He really loved you. But how could you trust him again? And John, you knew Kyle loved John, maybe not as much as you, but you were no one to separate them. That wasnât fair.
"Let me clean the blood from your nose, Kyle." You stood up, ignoring the things he said, and went to the bathroom, grabbing alcohol and one of Kyle's spare t-shirts, inhaling the scent as you sobbed into it.
"Loveâ"
"Let me clean you."
He picked you up, sitting you down at the sink, where you slowly cleaned his wounds. Your breath felt heavy every second you got near his lips.
"Tell me you don't love me, and I'll never bother you again."
"Kyle, I can't lie to you."
You cleaned him and gave him his new shirt, but you couldnât let him leave.
"Kyle, I love you, but I love all of you so much that I can't let you choose between me and John. You love him, I know that, and it's okay. I understand."
"John didnât cheat on you; it was Johnny."
"Don't lie to me."
"I'd never lie to you. He just knew we couldnât live without you, and you know how selfless he is."
"I thought he cheated." You started to sob again. "I screamed at him, told him how much I hate him, and he wasnât at fault." You felt like a monster for your feelings.
"He understands."
"How does he hold up?"Â You knew John was never someone who shared your feelings.
"Locked himself in the office, drinking for days, doesnât even speak with me."
"Let me fix this."
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
John thought he was hallucinating when you went into his office with the spare key you had. It was too good to be true to see his angel again, but you werenât real. He needed to stop drinking.
"I'm so sorry, John," you said over and over again, walking towards him, where you sat in your reserved place, on his lap, and slowly removing the glass out of his help. "I'm sorry, John. I donât hate you, Iâd never hate you."
"Cheated on you, deserve it."
"IÂ know it was Johnny."
"Lie."
"Kyle told me."
"Oh."
"Can you forgive me, John?"
"Of course, lovely,"Â he laled and smiled.
"Let me get you in your room, okay, and sober you up." He nodded, and you brought him to his room. You still werenât sure what to do. Will you forgive them? Will you forgive Johnny?
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Lea mah room, slag," Johnny screamed at the medic. He had enough of her and her manipulative acts, how she went into his room and touched him in training. It was enough.
"Don't be so harsh; I'm your girlfriend, after all," she smiled. She was sick fucking delusional.
"Youre nae mah burd ah tellt ye this often enough," he pressed his hands together, his knuckles white from rage. If he was a worse man, heâd kill her on the spot. But he needed her to make a mistake, so there would be proof of her lying.
"Not so aggressive, Johnny, this isnât good for our baby."
"Are you mental? There is no fucking baby. You raped me three days ago. Arenât you supposed to be a medic and know how this shit works?"
"There will be, and then we'll be happy."
"You're sick. This will never happen."
"Oh, there will, or you know I could tell anyone how you raped me and dared to kill me after your girlfriend found out."
"No one will believe you."
"They will."
And there was a knock on the door. He left her in the room, telling her it was probably only a rookie. He was surprised when he saw you. Even though you looked broken, you were still the most precious thing in his life. He wanted to hug you, tell you the truth.
"I know it was you, Johnny," you started to cry you never thought Johnny would do such a thing to you."
"Hen, please."
You hugged him tight, which caught him by surprise, but he held you through it. "Tell me why, Johnny. Please, let me know what I did to deserve this." His heart broke with every word you said. He desperately wanted to explain to you that you could never do anything wrong in his life, but the shame ate him up. Would you understand? Would you believe him?
"Tell me you won't do it again, Johnny. Tell me you regret it, that it didn't mean a thing. I'll forgive you, please, Johnny."
"Look, henâ"Â But before he could finish his sentence, the medic left the room wearing only one of his shirts.
"What are you doing here? I thought youâd broken up with that bore."
You noticed the shirt, the ruffled hair, and the bracelet you gifted Johnny that she wore. "Johnny, why is she wearing your shirt? Why does she have my bracelet?"
"Love, don't believeâ"
"Oh, you're not only a bore, you're also dense, aren't you?"
That was enough to finally break you. You walked away, screaming at Johnny that he should leave you alone, running into Simon on your way out.
"Luv?"
"Stay away from me, Si,"Â and he respected your wish, giving you the time to heal you need. He finally found Johnny in a screaming match with the medic. When she saw him, she gave Johnny a peck on his cheek and left with a sly smile.
Johnny was never a man to cry until that day. He didn't know how his life went so downhill in a few days.
"Johnny?"
"Go away, Lt."
"Johnny, tell me what's wrong."
"You wouldn't believe me. No one would."
"Let me decide that. Let's get you in your room and talk." His heart broke seeing Johnny like that, and he knew whatever it was, he would fix it for him.

Mama's Boy | Part 6 (final)
Pair: Jake x neytiri x human reader (trio couple) x sully children's
Warning: conflict, family problems, soft moments.
Note: You don't know how difficult it is to do something again that you already had done. I tried to make it like the previous one, but I think I'm missing some parts. Still, it's quite long. And I feel like it was lacking in the end⌠I wish it was the work I had already done, because that was great. Still, I hope you like this part a lot. Thank you very much for your support with this mini-series. There are many more coming!! btw I recently opened a KO-FiâŚ. if you want to leave any tips or support I would appreciate it (it would help me to buy real coffee xD).
AVATAR MASTERLIST | Part 1, Part 2, Part 3, Part 4, Part 5, Part 6(final)
You had to live with the continuous rejection since you agreed to be a couple with jake and neytiri. That was something you knew was going to happen. But when it was just you, everything was cool, you never cared. You always ignored the bad comments and went on with your life as if nothing had happened. But as soon as you became lo'ak's mother, things changed. Now you were a mother, one who wanted to be accepted among the group of mothers in the clan. When it was only neytiri who had neteyam, you used to accompany her. And nobody said anythingâŚbut now it was difficult. They were always saying comments about you and lo'ak. How they didn't believe that you were his mother, or that you weren't good enough for him and your family. Somehow this started to get to you. Trying to protect lo'ak was always difficult for you, but you always managed to find a way. But now you felt you weren'tâŚmuch less in your current state.
You hadn't seen your family for months, now you have the chance to be reunited with them. And it seems that since you arrived things have gone from bad to worse. Or so that woman saysâŚronal. You didn't want her words to affect you, but hellâŚthey were. You felt bad for your family, for lo'ak and even for the child that was on the way. It would have been easier if you had never involved yourself with Jake, and that your children could have a normal family, that lo'ak could have a normal family. He would have been happier.
You had left Ronal's hut, you were walking slowly. You still didn't want to go home, you knew everyone already knew the news. And even you didn't know how to react. You just passed by the shore, and you noticed that in the distance you could see lo'ak. He was aloneâŚyou knew from his posture that he was sad. You carefully descend the woven paths, and jump down to the sand. To now close in on your child. -"HeyâŚ" you speak, watching as the boy turns and smiles softly. "Hi..mom" lo'ak turns, to stretch out his hand. Helping you to sit next to him, you settle in. Pulling your knees to your chest, the night was cold for your liking. "Mom, are you feeling better? Neteyam said you are in serious condition" says lo'ak you could see the worried eyes. You stroke his arm a little, holding it now to make him come closer to you. "I'm fineâŚI'm just a little sick, that's all," you explain.
"mom said you were pregnant, is that true?" asks lo'ak, you look up to see him. You could notice how his little ears pinned back. - "I see the news is spreading fast around hereâŚ.but yes." You touch your stomach, then look up at lo'ak. - "There's a baby here," you say, looking back out to sea. Lo'ak notices this reaction of yours, something was happening to you. You weren't his mother as usualâŚyou looked sad.
"Aren't you happy?" asks Lo'ak. -And you? What do you think?" you ask him back. Lo'ak was silent for a moment, looking sideways. He thinks carefully about his answer. "Well⌠I feel jealous" says lo'ak pouting a little. This makes you chuckle a little, he looked so adorable. "Well⌠yes I'm happy, I just feel even bad andâŚnothing" you didn't want to worry lo'ak anymore. He was still so young, you didn't want him to carry your stupid traumas. He had been through so much at such a young age, and telling him your problems wouldn't help him much. -Mom⌠will you still love me?" lo'ak looks at you with wide eyes. - "My baby⌠the arrival of this baby won't change anything⌠sure, he'll get a little attention because he's the youngest. But you will always be my prince" you pull lo'ak to you, watching the boy. He settles down, to lay his head in your lap. Settling down in the sand. - "mama loves you so muchâŚso so much" you speak, stroking lo'ak's hair. You look down, to see him. He was growing so fast, you still couldn't believe it.
After a while, you and Lo'ak decide to go back to the hut. When you enter you can see that everyone in the family was there, it seems that you were waiting for you. - "Hello" you greet, stepping carefully inside. While lo'ak was in the back making sure you were okay. You were still a little weak. Neytiri gets up from where she was, approaching you towards her. -"you're supposed to be with ronal" says neytiri, seeing you roll your eyes.
. -I'd rather die at home," you joke, but you see kiri and tuk's little face is one of worry. "are you going to die?!!!" tuk starts to whine. "No, no honeyâŚit's a joke" you try to apologize to the little girl. -" No, she gave me this medicine and told me I could come backâŚI'm better" you speak, but you can see neytiri's and jake's face. It was one of happiness, they were waiting for you to say something about the creature that was on its way. -"BesidesâŚI heard that you had already come with the news that I was pregnant" you cross your arms. Neytiri laughs nervously, "I'm sorry, I'm excited." You give Neytiri a smile.
You knew how exciting this news was for everyone. You had hoped to be pregnant for so many years, and it never happened. After lo'ak you wanted to have a baby two years later, but nothing. Neytiri was always there for you. As much as you, she also hoped that you would have a baby. But hopes were lost with time. Even when neytiri announced that she was expecting tuk, she felt bad for telling you the news, neytiri felt that she had betrayed you. You responded to her, telling her she was a fool, you were so happy for the arrival of little tuk. You were so happy about the arrival of the little tuk that you eventually forgot the idea of having another child. But here you are⌠you finally got what you were looking for. And you felt so guilty at the same time.
That night everyone had a quiet dinner, no one argued and everything was peaceful. Celebrating the news of a new member. Neteyam was teasing lo'ak, saying that he would no longer be your baby. While kiri was playing along. Meanwhile, tuk put his ear to your stomach, hoping to hear something -" I can just hear your guts mom" tuk pouts in annoyance, and you start laughing." BabyâŚit's still too small" jake says, he was next to you, he had you wrapped in his arms. "But I'm supposed to be able to hear himâŚhe doesn't talk" tuk complains, she didn't know much about babies. "Don't worryâŚwhen he's born he's going to talk to you a lot" says neytiri, taking tuk on her lap. "I want it to be a girlâŚso she can be my best friend" tuk settles down on neytiri's chest, looking for the sleep. "WellâŚwhatever it is, she/he is going to be your best friend, I promise" you watch as tuk smiles softly. And begins to drift off to sleep. Eventually all the children begin to go to their beds. Leaving only the adults awake.
Neytiri settled tuk in her hammock, and went over to where you and Jake were sitting. You were both outside the marui, talking. "WellâŚthey're finally asleep," jokes Neytiri, sitting down next to Jake. "And wait till this little kid gets hereâŚ. the calm will go away" jake laughs a little, touching your stomach. But he can tell how serious you were. Jake looks at neytiri, to make sure she noticed your behavior too. You didn't used to be like that, you looked sad. Like something was wrong with you. Jake thinks you are still upset with himâŚbut you had said that this discussion was going to end. -"Ma y/nâŚis something wrong?" asks Neytiri, getting up from Jake's side to sit on your right side. Bringing her whole body closer to your side. -" YesâŚjust, I feel a little sick" you speak. You don't want them to start asking questions.
"You're sureâŚbecause you looked fine a while ago" Jake knows something is wrong with you. You sigh loudly, taking a deep breath -" I think it would be best if I went back to camp" you begin to speak. -" Y/nâŚyou can't go back to camp. They know who you areâŚthey are looking for us and they can hurt you. NoâŚyou stay here with us" jake was getting a little agitated, it was too dangerous for you to go back. The situation with the RDA was quiet, but that didn't mean they wouldn't attack. Neytiri touches Jake's shoulder to calm him down. -"But why do you want to come back, don't you want to be with us?" asks Neytiri, she seemed to be calm. "Of course I want to be hereâŚI love all thisâŚbut I feel that I am a problem for you. You guys were peaceful before I was here. Since I've been here it's been all arguments and problems. I want to go back and leave you alone" you had started to cry, you felt so silly. Here making a drama out of something so stupid.
"Why do you think that? Ma y/n you are not a problem for us, never say that" neytiri hugs you on her chest, giving you a kiss on the crown of your head. -Y/n look at me" jake takes your chin to look at him a little. " We have arguments like any other family, and that's normal. This whole situation of a new homeâŚI know it must be hard for you. If it's hard for us, it must be twice as hard for you." Jake speaks. -" But you're not the cause of any of our problemsâŚif we're talking about someone causing problems, it would be me. Because I bet if you two were alone, you'd be happy" that comment from Jake makes you laugh a little. Neytiri wipes the tears from your cheeks. "I know that being a sky peopleâŚand the whole acceptance thing has always made you uncomfortable and maybe it's a problem for a lot of people. But not for us, not for me. You are our familyâŚand we will always be united," says Neytiri as she caresses your cheek.
"Let's stop crying, it's not good for you. Neither you nor our baby" Neytiri pulls down a little, and gives you a soft kiss. "SeeâŚI'm the one who's left over here" jake jokes, making you both laugh, breaking the awkward moment. You take his hand, inviting him to join you. -"By the wayâŚwhy were you thinking those things?" neytiri asks. You pull away from her a little. "Ahh it was a comment ronal madeâŚbut never mind" you watch as neytiri's ears perk up and her nose wrinkles. "calm baby" jake says, looking at neytiri. You knew what neytiri thought of ronal. They had been in the metkayina clan for a while and she still couldn't tolerate that woman. But she would deal with this, neytiri wasn't going to leave it at that. ++++ The next morning, you felt a little better. Better in health and in spirits. You needed to have that talk with Neytiri and Jake. Their opinion was very important to you and setting the record straight helped you feel better. Jake and neytiri left early for a day of hunting that tonowari and ao'nung invited them to, while you stayed at the marui with lo'ak, kiri and tuk. Neytiri had gone for a 'walk', she didn't tell you exactly where she was going. But you didn't think much of it, Neytiri wasn't a troublemaker, so you stayed calm. -"Good morning mama" lo'ak just got up, sitting down next to you. You were humming, while tucking one of his braids behind his ears. "Are you hungry? Here's some fruit" you hand him his portion of fruit. The boy was snoozing, still sleepy. "Ahh my poor baby" you hug lo'ak. -"A giant ugly baby," says Kiri. The girl had been sitting next to you. Lo'ak pulls out his tongue at his sister, they were about to start arguing, when you scold them.-"Hey, it's too early for you to start with your stuff, let's eat" you say, taking Kiri's hand so that she sits next to you and starts eating. Tuk was still asleep, so you leave her alone.
"Lo'akâŚafter you finish eating, could you please go get some more fruit." you speak, you see lo'ak nod his head, the boy had his mouth full. "KiriâŚyou should go and join your brother" you can hear the girl complain, "ahhh mama!!!" kiri complains, lately she wanted to stay all day at the marui. You knew she missed spider, but it wasn't right for her to do nothing all day. "You're going to go and stretch your feet and hands and your whole body, yes?" you look at Kiri, she was grim-faced. Sometimes she looked so much like grace, you adored her. "Ok, I'll goâŚbut I'll come back quickly. I want to be with you" kiri rolls her eyes, and keeps eating. After eating kiri and lo'ak walked out of marui, leaving the place still and quiet. You hope that this day will continue to be quiet. But you are not aware of what Neytiri was about to do.
Neytiri had a mission when she woke up that morning, and she was going to accomplish it. No one was going to talk about her partner, no one. And for Ronal to say those words to you, it hurt her very much. Neytiri knew that she was not very welcome in the clan, and the only reason they were still there. It was because they needed it and because Tonowari had accepted it. She arrives at where ronal was, the woman was on her way to her marui when she met neytiri. "hello," says ronal. And neytiri greets her, insisting that they should talk. Ronal thinks for a moment, she had already dealt with Neytiri. And she knew she was a strong woman, and that the only reason she would talk to her is because something had happened. Ronal invites Neytiri into her marui. Neytiri sits down, analyzing the whole situation around her. -"So what brings you here?" asks Ronal.
"First I'm grateful for the help towards y/n, thank you" says neytiri. Seeing how ronal lowers her head and laughs to herself. -"Yes, you're welcome, after all that's my job," says ronal.
"yesterday⌠when y/n came out of your marui, she told us that you had told her that it was better for her to go back to the jungle, and that we were better off without her. I'd rather you stay out of our business and save your opinions," says neytiri, and from the tone of voice it didn't sound kind. Neytiri didn't care what position Ronal had, no one was going to meddle in her business. -"I don't think I said anything that wasn't true, or am I wrong?" ronal knows how to get neytiri out of her mind. "Our life as a family is not your business," neytiri says.
"What family? The strange inter-species gathering you have, because you yourselves became a point of opinion when you accepted that demon into your family" spits ronal. Neytiri takes a deep breath, clenching her hands. "I recommend you keep quietâŚ" says neytiri, trying to control herself. "I thought it was a joke when they said that demon was your mate, but now it turns out you have a half-Na'vi child and another on the way, who knows how I will come." Ronal doesn't know what she is provoking. Neytiri is holding back, but it is driving her point across. "She will still be a demon, and everything that comes from her will be" those were ronal's last words, until neytiri got up from the ground. Pulling out her knife in one swift movement. Approaching ronal, she curled her up in her seat.
Placing the weapon to her neck. "Let this be the first and last time you talk about my family like thatâŚyou don't know how things happened. I WILL NOT ALLOW YOU TO TALK SHIT ABOUT MY MATE AND MY CHILDREN, EVER!!!" neytiri screams. The woman is furious, neytiri had been through a lot of anger with you, and it wasn't because of you. It was not because of you, but because of the people around her.
Neytiri was not a fan of humans, if she could be away from them so much the better. But she loved you, you were different for her. She saw you as a creature and not as a human. You and neytiri have known each other for years, since grace school. You know everything neytiri has been through and you have always been there for her. It was painful for her when you two had to move away from each other, it was almost like another loss for her. But since you two became a couple with Jake, her anger about the comments made to you had grown. The na'vi saying nasty things about you, no matter that your children were there. Saying that you were too extra in their family. But when neytiri was going to react to those comments, you were always there to stop her, telling her to ignore them. But yesterday, it was the straw that broke the camel's back. Neytiri had gone through so much these past few months, and when she finally felt a little happiness with the arrival of you and a new baby, this idiot comes to ruin her life. This idiot came to ruin it, she was annoyed. Why weren't you here to stop her. -"I recommend you put down that knife," says Ronal, looking into Neytiri's eyes. These were black with fury.
By coincidence or by pure luck. Kiri and lo'ak were passing by ronal and tonowari's marui. When they saw the situation forming, lo'ak and kiri immediately run to stop their mother. Lo'ak grabs neytiri from behind, pulling her off of ronal. -"Mom, what's wrong? Calm down!!!" says lo'ak, while kiri stands in front of her mother hugging her. Neytiri is a little upset, screaming to be released. But her children were holding her back, they didn't understand what was going on. -"Kiri goes and gets dad," lo'ak orders Kiri. The girl runs off as fast as she can to look for her father. While lo'ak tries to reassure her mother. -Mom calm down, why are you acting like this?" lo'ak is confused, he has never seen his mother act like this before. "Don't you dare say a damn thing about my family!!!" shouts neytiri.
In the family maruiâŚ
Jake arrived with neteyam, carrying a basket full of fish. "LoveâŚlook at all the stuff we brought, neteyam was amazing. Next time I'm going to take lo'ak with me" jake was so happy, coming up to give you a quick kiss. "mmm I see, congratulations" you kiss him back. Moving closer to neteyam, to help him. "Thank you mom," says neteyam. - "HoneyâŚgo and eat your breakfast, yes?" you say. Handing him his fruit packet, your poor boy had left very early and you know he hadn't eaten. "hey, where's neytiri and the kids?" asks jake, sitting down next to you. "Neytiri told me she was going for a walk and told the kids to go get more fruit" you say. -Perfect" says Jake getting down to give you a kiss on your shoulder. "I love youâŚI don't like it when you're mad at me" Jake speaks in your ear. You laugh a little, because you were still mad at him. But he knew how to play your game.-"mmm we'll seeâŚI love you too" you look up, waiting for jake to give you a kiss. When an altered kiri runs up to marui. "DADDY I NEED YOUR HELP WITH MOM, SHE IS DISCUSSING WITH RONAL, SHE HAD HIS KNIFE ON HER NECK" kiri yells, the girl was so upset. "What?" you guys stand up quickly. Following the girl. "Neteyam, kiri stay with tuk, please" you ask that favor, and walk out behind jake.
Tonowari had arrived on the scene, trying to calm everything down. "SHE was the one who started saying all those things!!!" neytiri is defending herself. "I told the truth!!!" ronal on the other hand defending her point. While tonowari was trying to understand what happened. He had in front of him two women with a strong character. Jake approaches and you were behind him. "Mom" lo'ak walks up to you, holding your hand. "What happened?" you ask, this was crazy. Lo'ak looks at you, lifting his shoulders. Neytiri was screaming and so was ronal. And on the other side was Tonowari and jake. - "mom come on, let's go!!!" lo'ak was dragging you with him. The boy didn't want you to be there, he thought it was a dangerous situation. Little by little you move away from the group, and you decide to listen to lo'ak. And you both walk towards your marui.
You were nervous, because lo'ak didn't know what had happened, much less you. And the best thing you did was to walk away, you are getting really sick. Suddenly you see how jake and neytiri enter. - "neytiri all thatâŚ" jake starts. - "Nobody is going to be talking about my family, my childrenâŚnobody." neytiri was so upset. "What's going on?" you get up from the floor, looking at jake. - "listen to meâŚwe will stay here until the baby is born, then we will leave" says jake. What was going on, this was a lot of information to process. But with the look Jake and Neytiri were giving you, you knew they were serious. This was a choice they had made, and they had no intention of changing it.
When the dust settled, Jake explained everything. This agreement he made with Tonowari. After all the discussion was calmed down and explained. Tonowari knew that Ronal could be cruel when he spoke and didn't mean what he said. So he didn't blame neytiri too much for reacting that way, but he also had to defend his partner. Jake couldn't believe what that woman said about his partner and son. This was the limit, he was grateful for everything they had done, but everything had a limit and Ronal had passed it. So it was decided that when you gave birth, they would go somewhere else. Tonowari insisted that they stay, but jake refused. -"But we could leave now," you say. -"I think it's best to wait for the baby to be born, and for you to be healthy. Then we'll go" Jake looks at Neytiri. She was the one who had the idea, she couldn't stand to be around that woman anymore. -"It's for the best!" says Neytiri.
That same night, jake approached lo'ak. The boy had done a great job, defending his mothers. Jake was proud of how he had acted. Lo'ak was cleaning some fish, as Jake had told him earlier. Jake went over and started to help him. "You know⌠I'm proud of you. You were very brave out there, thank you for helping" says jake, noticing how lo'ak's little eyes widen with excitement. Lo'ak thinks it's the first time his father has ever told him he was proud of him. After the encounter with the RDA, things between them had mended somewhat, but not for long. And seeing that his father was now trying to get closer to him was pleasing to him. "That's what you should do, sir," says lo'ak, lowering his head. "dadâŚyou can call me dad" jake smiles at lo'ak. " dad" lo'ak speaks, leaning closer to his father.
Neytiri and you were watching everything from afar, both of you shared a few glances. You were happy, that finally their relationship was at a good point.
8 months laterâŚ
Your pregnancy went normally, no problems had occurred. Although the atmosphere was a little heavy, nothing happened. You always had someone by your side, and there was always lo'ak behind you. Since that accident, lo'ak never left you alone at any time. And you were also grateful for the company of your child, the pregnancy had been very tiring for you. After long months, liuk was born⌠a beautiful baby girl. A girl with human appearance, but with na'vi characteristics. Na'vi ears, with a tail and her distinguished Queue. She was also of human size, she was very strange. But precious and unique at the same time. Everyone in the family could not believe what they were seeing, this was very strange.
"MomâŚno wonder your belly was so small" says neteyam, looking at her newborn sister. Compared to when you were pregnant with lo'ak your belly was bigger than normal, but with liukâŚeverything went like a normal pregnancy. -"Yes" your voice sounded tired, the delivery was quite fast, but painful. Neytiri at your side, taking care of you. She had attended your entire delivery, along with Jake. She said she didn't want Ronal's help, she wanted to leave this place as soon as possible. On the other hand Jake looked worried, you looked very weak. In a week they were supposed to leave for somewhere else, but on second thought, he doesn't think it's right. He thinks it's not the right thing to do.
Lo'ak was sitting on your right side, holding your hand. Drawing circles on your palm, while his sisters watched and carried the baby. He hadn't been holding her, he was worried about you. It had been a couple of hours, and you still felt very tired. "lo'akâŚlove why don't you say hello to your little sister" you look at him, laughing a little. You knew he was nervous, telling kiri to hand the baby over to lo'ak. He holds her carefully, - "she isâŚvery small" says lo'ak. You laugh, you were watching your baby holding your new baby. You wanted to die of tenderness. Lo'ak touched the baby's nose, and then her tiny feet. His baby sister was so tiny and adorable. -"She looks just like when lo'ak was a baby, doesn't she," said Jake, moving closer to lo'ak to take a closer look at his daughter. "Yes⌠they look just like each other," says Neytiri. Jake takes the baby in his arms, to put her on his chest. He was afraid⌠very afraid to leave.
Leaving this clan was dangerous, very dangerous. And now he felt much more afraid⌠they had a new member in the family. And one who was very weak, you had to hide and not expose yourselves in this way. He knows what had happened, but you could all come to an agreement. Jake had to talk to you and Neytiri about it. They had a safe home, their children had already adapted and they had a newborn. They had to stay. That same afternoon, without wasting any time, Jake decided to talk to Neytiri and set the record straight. He made her understand that the best thing to do was to stay in the clan. Neytiri did not take this well, she wanted to leave. But she also understood Jake's point, things could get worse. Neytiri apologized to Ronal, and the woman apologized to her. Tonowari and Jake argued and left everything in a good state. After all, nothing had happened between the families, just that misunderstanding. Although neytiri prefers ronal to stay away from her family.
After three months, life seemed to be calmer. Things seemed to be back to normal. There were no arguments and everything was harmonious. You were on the beach, with lo'ak. You were still healing, but you were feeling better. Meanwhile lo'ak was holding his baby sister on his chest in a kangaroo that you and neytiri had made. The baby had grown a little, but still looked human-sized. You had talked to Norm, who told you that in a couple of days he would see the baby. Everything about her was impressive. -"MomâŚI think she's heavier," says lo'ak, stroking his baby sister's head. "mmm I think a littleâŚbut that much" you were looking for some snails to make something nice for the baby. - "mom look at that over there" lo'ak points to the sand, watching you reach for it. Without noticing ronal's presence.
The woman had approached you, silently. She felt like she owed you an apology. After talking to jake and neytiri. And even with TonowariâŚshe owes you an apology. It was very wrong of her to say those things about you and your children. She had not taken the task of knowing you, and she only judged you. â âHello,â she says slowly, seeing how you look at her with surprise. It had been a long time since she last approached you. ââHelloâ you speak embarrassed. Lo'ak holds her sister tightly against her chest, protecting her from her. If something happened, he was ready to defend her. ââI come here to apologizeâŚI know that how I have expressed myself towards you, it is not the best way. I hope you forgive meâ she says ronal, she still sounded a little smug. But you decide to accept her apology, you wanted to keep the atmosphere as it was at the moment. ââdon't worryâŚeverything is fineâ you say. You felt so uncomfortable right now.
âWellâŚtake thisâ Ronal hands you some kind of drink. She looks at you with concern and then you look at her. ââdon't worryâŚit's nothing bad. It will help you heal faster, the recently given birth women of the clan use itâ Ronal laughs a little. You accept her gift, and thank her. Ronal says goodbye and continues on his way. Out of nowhere you feel someone take the drink from your hand. âMom, don't take thatâŚit could be poison,â Lo'ak says, pouting. Caused you to laugh a little. You take a moment to look at the little people in front of you. They were amazing and you had created them. âI love you so muchâ you touch Lo'ak's face, he laughs a little at you. And he looks at his little sister again. You knew that your children's lives were not going to be easy, but they would always count on your help.
p.s omg, why do I have so much trouble finishing this series, ahh I feel like something is missing!!! ahhhhhh cries in a corner

Okkkk I am loving all the alastor with twins idea's đ đ đ could you do some headcannons where he takes the twins on day full of errands like going grocery shopping in cannibal town and a overlord meeting stuff like that
I'm just gonna add a new one here...
Alastor X Reader Headcanons
â
ď¸Romantic
âď¸Platonic
â
ď¸Parental
TW: Kids being chaotic, Babies biting, Alastor X Mom!Reader towards the end
Description: âď¸âŹď¸
Normally, Alastor avoids taking the twins out by himself, preferring to double team it with his wife
It's just so much easier with you by his side
But when his wife needs a day off or is too busy to go with him? It's full on dad mode for him
He talks to them the entire time as if the three of them are having a real conversation
"Which of these two do you think your mother will like more?"
"Baba!"
"You're right, obviously we need to try someplace else."
Takes the kids to visit Rosie and pick up some of his secret snack stash along the way
Rosie absolutely hogs the twins and keeps them in her lap for the entirety of the visit
She coos and fusses over them, allows them to wear her hat and chew on her limbs
"Alastor! Look at those chompers! You're gonna have some real trouble on your hands soon!"
If Alastor takes them to overlord meetings, then Rosie and Zestial will each hold a twin
Rosie is content to just ignore what's being said and snuggle with a baby, smell their fresh baby scent
Rosie that's creepy
Zestial likes to blow on their twitchy little ears just to listen to them growl and bleat at him
It's a game to them
The twins literally can't get enough of Zestial's voice and the way he speaks, always just hypnotized when he opens his mouth
Carmilla is secretly dying inside to hold a baby but won't admit it until Alastor offers it up to her
She melts the moment a baby is in her arms, smiling and rubbing noses with the baby
Her daughters will absolutely beg to hold them though
Velvette is pissed because she can't take photos of the babies or even hold one, the last time she tried, she almost lost a finger to those teeth
Alastor loves how he can basically control how an overlord meeting goes just by bringing in his babies
He wants everyone off topic so that they don't look into something he doesn't want brought to light? Good day to bring the twins
If he's taking the twins for a walk, then he's definitely got those child leashes so that he doesn't lose his babies
It's also to keep them from going feral and biting people but nobody needs to know that
If they run into Vox, then he'll suddenly accidentally drop the leash just to watch his kids take Vox down
The TV head won't be getting up without a few bite marks on his screen, Alastor holding almost angelic looking twins in his arms
"My most sincere apologies, Vox! Teething has just been so hard on the twins..."
"Oh fuck you!"
"Ba!"
"Not you!"
Alastor is surprisingly patient and understanding when it comes to his children's needs
He's able to quickly figure out what they want and avoid a tantrum
"Are you hungry, dear one? Papa has just the thing for you~"
And if they do have a tantrum...he knows how to get ahold of his wife...
He'll take them to a park and play games with them just to tucker them out, he actually seems like a normal dad in those moments
Usually by the end of the day Alastor can tell that the twins are tired and missing their mom
He misses her too
Is so exhausted when he gets home and collapses in your arms, rubbing his face into your shoulder
"How was your day out~?"
"Pleasant, but it would've been better had you been with us, my dear~"
You can't help but smile as his arms wrap around you, and he pulls you in for a generous kiss
That's the only moment with you that he gets before the twins push between you two
"BA!"
I love these family asks so much

Another deaged Dan and ellie or otherwise known as Crack.
Pt1 pt2 pt3. pt4
Jason was out patrolling Crime Alley when Clark called him freaking out.
Clark was currently in the doghouse with most of the bats and his sons. While most of it wasn't really his fault his family wasn't really the letting go type. He would know.
"What the hell do you want." He grimaced, that came out a lot rougher than he intended but sue him his brother had been missing for a week and they still were no were closer to finding him.
"Jason! How can you tell which rich men are predators?" What the hell.
"Get here now."
Which is how he came to be sitting across from a crisscross apple sauced Superman in his nearest safe house nursing a beer.
"I overheard something today at work." Kill him now. He was about to pull out a cyanide pill if this fucker didn't stop beating around the goddamn bush.
"What don't you overhear." He took another swing of his beer. He'd need plenty of it if Clark was gong to pester him for some fucking story while his brother was out there who knows where with God knows who, doing fucking anything. He could feel the green starting to rise and he did his best to push it back down but his vision was still tinged. It was happening a lot more often lately.
"Lex Luthor is apparently a sex trafficker." Atleast he was no longer beating around the bush but what the fuck? He knows the top suspect is Luthor and he's going to make a fucking joke about that. This was so not funny.
" I don't know what your playing at but you better explain yourself before I put a kryptonite bullet in your head." This fucker was going to singlehandedly destroy all his hardwork in therapy.
" One of my coworker's moms works at lexcorp, she called him today talking about the fact lex had two sick kids hanging around but disappeared and that a new one apparently showed up sick as well, last week." That got his attention.
"I also overheard her say he was experimenting on all of them and that the newest one spent time in Luthors own bedroom." He was going to cut Lexs dick off and shove it so far down his throat it was going to come out the other end. The green was suffocating.
"You think it's Damian."
"Who else? But the other kids I'm not sure." The other kids could have been surrogates for Damian but he was missing something. Kids because Lex has now kidnapped two other kids and experimented on them. And was probably hurting or experimenting on Damian in all kinds of ways he didn't even want to think about. The green spiking and flooding his senses, urging him to put down down anything that hurt his baby brother his...fraid? What the hell? He shook that thought off, that's never happened before. The green never allowed him to have such clear and borderline strange thoughts before.
"We need to go to the batcave." Shoving his helmet on, not even waiting for Clark's response, he'd beat him their anyway.
â------------
Jon was sat perched on the rocks high in the cave, listening for even a hint of wherever Damian had gone. His dad who he was absolutely pissed at bad arrived and asked everyone to to 'please listen to whatever he and Jason have to say before you interupt'. Which led to a lot of shouting and arguing he was ignoring. He already knew what it was about he had been straining listening to every single person mentioning lex luthor.
He couldn't imagine Damian in that position. It wasn't that he didn't understand it could happen to anyone it was just disbelief that it could happen to... his best friend, who he's had a crush on for years. He obviously knew that no one was infallible, much less Damian, but he couldn't help think it. Damian always seemed untouchable.
Eventually, everybody quieted down again and went back to their own things. The quiet was unwelcome. He'd been having strange dreams since before he heard of Damian's disappearance.
They always started out normal enough. He was walking in a park that seemed familiar, but he knows for a fact he's never been to. After a while, he comes to a picnic table with various snacks and drinks thrown around in smaller piles like they were transfered from someone's arms to quickly care.
A boy with bright orange hair, covered in freckles everywhere, he can see wearing a basketball jersey attempting to twirl a ball on one finger, his hands are covered in colorful markers, both drawing snd wikd splotches. He instinctively recognizes him as 'Wes' even though he has no clue who he is. 'Wes' briefly tries to wave at him but loses his grip on his ball and has to chase it down the hill, cursing all the way. When he turned the back of his legs, have punctured, looking scars on them like something grabbed him and dragged him around, seering fangs into his flesh.
Another boy 'Tuck' is typing madly at what he can recognize as a PDA even though he's only seen them on old TV. He's placed in the center surrounded by tools most on his left and right side like he picked them up and threw them back down too quickly to care. His hands have several scars, but his left arm is the worst, 3rd degree burns healed, but still looked painful. His tongue is sticking out the side of his mouth, and he keeps pushing his dreads underneath a red beanie, but before his hands even touches his device, they've already slid back out.
There's two other girls side by side, one shooting airplanes and attempting to get the other to 'play with her'. One 'Val' his mind supplies somehow, has darker skin, and wears a typical y2k outfit complete with a flip-phone she secured on her body with a yellow ribbon. Her face has a huge jagged scar running from the side, almost touching her mouth as if her head slammed on something sharp, then dragged downward purposefully and other smaller scars on everywhere else. She looks straight out of one of his mom's old photo books rather than a 2000s fashion enthusiast. She smirks at him and waves her finger at him in a 'come hither' kinda way.
The other girl 'ellie', wear more baggy clothes, the knees are torn and darker from wear and tear rather than on purpose like what he himself has worn. From the little skin she shows he can see both bruising new and old with quite a few 'narley' looking scars. She sees him and waves, smiling brightly, she grabs one of the paper airplane and throws it into the sky. 'Ellie' then waves her hands around in a motion that looks like it was practiced for more effects than practical. Wind billows past her making the paper go soaring for a brief minute before it self-destructive under the stress of the wind. She pouts and stomps her foot before grabbing another one and trying again.
He continues past her and sits near 'val'. Val grabs his shoulders and snaps a phota on her phone. "Say cheese," she says through her teeth, smiling joyfully. For some reason, he obeys her command and smiles softly at the camera. He feels happy and peaceful. Val shoves the phone in his hand for him to inspect, but something is wrong.
He-she has dark black hair that seems to have a purple hue to it. Her makeup is dark and shadowed, and her clothes are shorter than he's ever worn before. They look sewn together cruedly but with an attention to detail he often lacks. She has quite a few scars ranging from scrapes to jagged cuts. Somehow, the girl holds a peace sign up, and he can see her claw like nails. The black paint was patchy in places, making him able to tell those were real nails, not just fake acrylics.
He looks down, and he sees her. Before he starts to spiral,'Danny' calls out. "Sam! There you are. I've been looking everywhere for you!" 'Danny' has even worse scarring than anyone else the way he leans over him he can see inside his shirt, a large autopsy scar is healed rough and jagged edges make it known he fought the whole time. He has litchenberg type figures from his right hands palm all the way up to his throat. Weren't they supposed to fade? He knows logically that he can't be Damian, but he also just feels like he is, like he's just like Jon's best friend, like he's known him forever and loves him. 'Danny' appearance then starts to shift from looking even more like Damian his eyes and face stay carefree, but his harsh scarring looks even more profound against his darker skin. 'Damian's' head comes to rest on his shoulder and he feels 'Sam' start to lean down and kiss him, but as soon as they lock eyes the dream is over leaving him in a panting mess, trying to catch his breath.
He's had that exact same dream for a week now with no change. All ending in the exact same spot. He wasn't sure who to talk to about it. It felt important, but what if it's just a dream?
"Jon? Hanging in there?" Kon floated up, he staying in the air probably in case he reacted negatively. He hates how they treat him like a ticking time boom, Damian never treats him like that. Come on, just say it. He's your brother.
"I just...miss him." he buried his head in his hands like the coward he was. Kon floated closer until he was landing right next him, bumping his shoulder.
"I know Jon, I get it." No you really don't. Cause i don't let you.
-----------
"So there is a boy you like?" Vlad pestered him rubbing his back.
"I never said it was a boy." He snarked before throwing up his entire stomach up in the toilet.
"Please Damian, I went to school with your father. Both of them now actually." He said matter a factually.
"Gay." He said in between hurling. Finally after not immediately throwing up as soon as he even moves slightly Vlad places a water bottle in his hands.
"Thank you." He mumbles, mind your manners young master.
Vlad was nice and all sometimes, but he missed his family. Pennyworths chiding, Richard's easy smiles and praises, Father's lessons. He missed it all.
Vlad really wasn't the best at emotions or parenting really. He... cared for him but he was more that fun uncle you realize was really just crazy. Not he'd ever tell Vlad that.
"Let's go back to work."
"Are you sure? We can take a longer break?"
"We both know we can't afford it."
Things weren't going all that well. They had realized fairly quickly that the incubation was going to follow a real pregnancy timeline if not a little shorter up to the birth where they will just faze out when their ready. Vlad theorized it was a protective measure his body was doing to make the pregnancy less ghostly. He couldn't handle even a half-ghostly anything. The flight to the island drained him of all of the ectoplasm he was able to accumulate over the years despite the corruption.
Due to the corruptedness of the pits he was basically severely ecto-deprived and any ecto he gains goes to the two extra cores or fixing the corruption. He can't even make any ectoplasm anymore because of the corruption stopping it. He needs to get to the Infinate Realms as soon as possible or else neither him or his kids will continue to exist. Vlad was also weaker using his own ectoplasm to power things because the purified ecto was so much weaker than just natural.
The ectopods give him a boost but he was getting worse. The ectopods had failed Dan and Ellie to.
Vlad was starting to get a little protective and by a little he means not wanting to let him out of sight at all. Barely for a bathroom break. Ancients forbid he takes more than five minutes and Vlad pulls a sledgehammer out.
He may or not be going a little stir crazy. It was agonizing he's not used to dealing with this much attention. His parents in his first life were mostly focused on the portal or their work in general until they suddenly realized they had kids then showered them with affection just to forget about them just as quickly. The league of assassins and his mother don't need any explanation really, between training there wasn't much time for affection his mother sometimes did but it was always behind closed doors when noone was watching at all and that didn't happen near as much as you would think. His father wasn't really affectionate on anything, the most he would get for a mission gone right was a pat on the back and a "good job chum" and it often felt more forced with him than the others. Richard was quite affectionate with both his words and his actions. Getting a passing grade or winning a fight or even losing a fight seemed to be a cause of celebration. He was physical with his affection, hugs and kisses on the forehead, but even the second he started feeling uncomfortable he would pull away. Sometimes it was nice sometime he just wished he would push just a little further.
Vlad didn't have any of that. He was all antagonistic words, he didn't even always seem to mean it, it just happened with him. His attention nice for a while but got tiring and he couldn't just ask him to leave him alone because Vlad would take it wrong. He also never knew when to leave him alone. Like he didn't need to sleep in his room just cause he was having headaches and occasional nosebleeds he had that plenty with concussions before and had been able to treat it since he was 4 years old. He thinks if Vlad says one word more on 'taking a break' or 'drinking some more water' he was going to punch him in the face.
"You dont need to push yourself! you'll only end up in more pain just take a five minute break? Please think of the kids I'm also there father to you know!" There it is.
Damian while around and punched him in the face. The force and the surprise knocking him onto the floor.
"Damian! What the hell is your problem, young man!" He attempted to get up but he didn't let him. He easily swept his feet from under him and pushed him back down.
"I'm sick and tired of you always thinking you know what's best for me! Well news flash. You don't." He punched him in the face, expertly evading Vlads dodging. Vlad was powerful with powers but without them he was much more skilled.
"Stop this right now!" He'd have to make him.
And make him he did. Shit. He overestimated just how much ecto Vlad had been giving him because he stopped holding back his strength and shoved him off.
Crack.
Shit Vlad definitely either broke or cracked one of his ribs. He must of really pissed him off because that didn't stop him. He ran at him and kicked him in the throat. He gasped for air.
"Are we done yet?" Fuck you. He grabbed his legs and pulled him down. Almost straddling him and started to beat his face in. Vlad spit out blood but started to heal quicker than he could hurt him. Switching their positions he stsrted to choke him out. He choked for air but remembering his training, he quickly administerd a move that would have taken down any regular human down.
Vlad quickly recovered even angrier and threw him roughly at the glass of the lab shattering it and landing in it. He could feel the glass prickling against his skin. Bloody streaks painting his hands, glass embedded. He tried getting up but heard a loud gasp.
Susan stood hand over her mouth. Her skin pale and her hand gripped her tablet so hard he could hear creaks. He laid his head back down. He suddenly didn't feel like fighting anymore.
"Take him to the physician." Vlad spoke, voice distant and echoey. He couldn't resist the pull of darkness and fell under.
--------
After Clark shared his findings with the cave a month ago, Tim and Barbara have been hard at work trying to track the call, but meeting dead ends all around. Lex's security to tight and better than ever before.
Until, a new call came through.
"David! Oh David it's horrible!" She cried, her sobbing evident even through the poor phone service. They quickly got to work, everyone joining in around them. It had a two months since the last time they saw their littlest bat. No way where they letting the opportunity slip through their hands again.
"That little boy! He threw him through a window! He's been in and out of emergency surgeries for a week. A week! He had a punctured lung, an almost crushed larynx, a broken collarbone, and five cracked or broken ribs. Not to mention, he's covered in bruises and srapes from the glass! It's terrible! That little boy, just laying on the operating table, his heart stopped twice. Twice! Oh, David! I don't know what to do." She was in hysterics. Oh god, that was his brother. His baby brother.
He ignored the broken sobs around him and pushed his down.
"I've got it." Barbara announced, hse didn't sound relieved in any way but he understood they still had to save him and from what they heard from her, he may never fully recover.
"Supers, fly ahead, scout out. This is Lex, he's bound to have plenty of kryptonite." The supers flew out without even acknowledgeing their orders.
He paused. Please don't say it. Please
"Evrybody else... to the batjet."
It didn't really matter what he said anyway everybody in the cave was ready to go war, with or without Bruce.
A/N if yall think for one second that a relationship built from the ashes of one of the most traumatic moments in their lives is going to be perfect, yall kidding yourselves. Vlad is never going to be perfect he and damian/Danny will always be archenemys who may or may not have some fluffy moments they'll still have met because he wat trying to kill his father so he could marry his mother. Vlad desperately wanting him to be son is so obsessive and insane he creates a clone of him to be his kid. They may care for each other, but vlad will never truly be a good choice for Danny in general.
