hi all; i’m back on my bullshit (writing in the kpop sphere); i’ve been in fandom spaces for most of my life but wlw kpop writing truly used to feel like home. i really hope you all enjoy what i post!

She’s the talk of the whole department at uni. She doesn’t seem to mind on the outside, as she is rarely seen without a smile on her lips, openly approaching those who have business with her, and reservedly passing by those who don’t. But her smile is a polite one, not one that forms out of happiness. She usually controls her expressions around people, and that gives off a kind of cool attractiveness, that mixed with her beauty has already mesmerized and won the interest of many. Why is it then, that this beautiful young woman is always seen alone? Everywhere you turn, there’s people asking why such a pretty girl doesn’t have a boyfriend, and never seemed to have had one either.

You wouldn’t tell them the reason for a million dollars. After all, you’re the only one who knows, and a secret is well kept with you. You hear her make a noise underneath you as your lips slowly leave hers, the soft warmth still lingering on your skin.

summary; in a world where everyone has a tattoo that connects with their soulmate upon meeting, you find your soulmate in an unexpected place.

everyone on this earth had soulmate at some point or another. obviously, most soulmates were not born at the exact same time, and people die, but everyone will have a soulmate for a period of time, no matter how short.

finding soulmates was a race against time for some- they would dedicate their lives to finding the person, rolling up their sleeves and checking others’ soulmate tattoos etched on their forearms to see if there was a match, daydreaming about their meeting day and night, gushing about how much they already love the person.

for others, it was less intensive. others would procrastinate their meeting- not feeling ready enough, struggling with insecurities, worrying about their career being ruined, terrified of not loving their soulmate, or even worse, their soulmate not loving them.

“uh. well, you see, he actually had them when he was born, but in a freak accident when he ran into a tree trying to get to a waterhole, it fell off.”

“what?!” you exclaim, “did it hurt?”

“oh yes, terribly, but breg here toughed it out.”

“breg?”

“yes,” sihyeon says seriously, slightly offended, “who’s your giraffe?”

“brad,” you tell her, using the same tone as her.

“hmph. seems like plagiarism to me.”

you gasp, feigning hurt.

“here,” sihyeon says suddenly, dipping her brush into a can of brown paint, “brad needs eyebrows”

she grazes your giraffe’s forehead with the ugly color.

“no he doesn’t! what are you talking about! g i r a f f e s d o n t h a v e e y e b r o w s!” you exasperate, trying to stop her, reaching out to grab the brush form her hand.

but she moves faster than you, rolling up her sleeve to reveal her forearm and pushes her brush into the paint again.

and then suddenly the two of you are attached to each other, whirling around in a storm of golden specks of light and rainbows of paint.

Standing in the corner with an empty cup in your hand wasn’t your idea of a fun Halloween, but there you were, watching as people you didn’t know mingled and danced and laughed. Your friend Mia had invited you, promising that it would be a good time, but she’d disappeared moments after getting you inside the big, unfamiliar house and shoving you a drink, and now you were alone.

Technically, you could probably join a conversation or shove your way into the crowd of dancing people. Everyone was already too buzzed to care if they knew each other or not. But you had only had one cup of whatever terrible concoction of drinks they had, and you weren’t feeling near brave enough to jump into the crowded room. Mostly because you’d never seen any of these people in your life. You were content to wait in the corner where Mia had left you until she came back.

But then a couple in what looked like matching construction costumes started dancing right next to you, and you decided it was time to leave your corner.

Taking a deep breath, you stuck to the walls, throwing the cup away in the nearest trash can (or at least what looked like one) as you tried to find your way around the place. You found Mia, but she was preoccupied with a blushing girl on a couch, so you decided to leave her be and continue on your exploration of the house.

The were lots of rooms (you were starting to suspect this was some sort of college frat house or something) and plenty of people to fill them. But that wasn’t too surprising. After all, it was Halloween. The one holiday that young people used as an excuse to party.

After a while of searching, you finally stumbled into a relatively quiet room. There was a kitchen at the back of the house where only a few drunk girls sat at the table, taking turns giving each other slurred compliments. Otherwise, it was pretty quiet, the music muffled through the walls, and you could actually move without bumping into another person. So basically, it was the perfect place to lay low.

“Hungry?” A soft, high-pitched voice caught your attention, and you looked up to see a woman sitting on the counter beside the fridge. She was snacking on loaf of bread, lightly kicking her legs as she gave you a little smile. Like a lot of other girls you’d seen, she was dressed like fox, but her ears and tails almost looked real. Had you not known…. wait, tails? Why did why have four?

“Uh,” you said eloquently, looking from the tails to the beautiful girl in question. “Sure?”

Her smile widened and she held out the loaf of bread towards you. “Have some then.” Her voice seemed almost musical as she spoke, and you stepped forward to hesitantly take the bag from her hands.

“Is this yours?”

“No, but some guys earlier left it out. So I decided to eat some.” She tilted her head and shrugged her shoulders, and your throat suddenly felt dry. “Where did you come from?”

“My friend brought me here.”

“Where are they?” She sure did ask a lot of questions.

“She disappeared on me.”

“Oh really? That’s mean. Who would leave someone like you behind?” She giggled a bit after she said it, and you didn’t know what to think, even as you could feel yourself blushing. “What’s your name?”

“I’m (Y/N). And yours?”

“Yiren.” She looked you over for a moment, and you couldn’t stop blushing. Something about her cool yet seemingly sweet gaze made your stomach twist in a delightful way. “Were you able to find your friend again?”

“Well, yeah.” You swallowed and wet your lips. “But she was, um, probably trying to kiss someone tonight. To put it nicely.”

“Me too!” The room went quiet. When you looked over your shoulder, the drunk girls were no longer there. Where had they gone? A light thud caused you to look back at Yiren, who was now standing. “Want to hear something crazy?”

“Um, sure?” You had a feeling she would tell you even if you said no.

“I have to kiss someone before midnight.”

You blinked, your heart pounding. It felt like you were rooted to the ground. Where you dreaming? This kind of thing only happened in movies. “Really?” Your doubt was tinged in your voice, but she just smiled, walking closer. You swore you saw one of her tails twitch.

“Really. And you know, it’s getting rather close to midnight.”

“Why?” You choked out. She was really close now, and you could smell her rose perfume.

Putting a finger to her lips, she winked. “Shh. It’s a secret.” Was she drunk? No, she wasn’t acting drunk. And you definitely weren’t dreaming. So this was actually happening. Putting a hand on your shoulder, her dark eyes dug into yours and she tilted her head again. This time, her ears definitely moved. “Would you kiss me, (Y/N)?”

You couldn’t say no, words stuck in your throat as you sank into her eyes. And you found that you didn’t mind it at all. “Yes,” you whispered, your eyes fluttering closed.

Her soft lips met yours a second later. She tasted like bread and just the slightest hint of wine and something you couldn’t quite pinpoint, and she kissed you like she knew what she was doing. Her thumb ran over your jawline as she kissed you, and when she pulled away, she let out a little hum, smiling.

“That was very nice, thank you.”

Just like that, she turned away and opened the back door, slipping out into the night with a little smile and nod, as if beckoning you to follow her before leaving you breathless against the kitchen table. After a second, you touched your lips, glanced back at the rooms where the party was happening, and back out into the darkness.

And then, without a second thought, you stepped outside, leaving behind the loud party and following the scent of roses into the night.

Desc.: You’re a trainee at Everglow’s company, and you used to train with them, but in the end you didn’t get picked to debut with them, so you’re still stuck as a trainee. Meanwhile your girlfriend Yoorim never left you behind and she’s still cheering for you to make your debut too one day.

You look yourself in the huge mirror in front of you, your tied up hair having gotten a bit messy and your chest rising and sinking. There’s a layer of sweat covering you from practicing for hours. Behind you, there’s a second trainee packing her things and drinking the last gulp of water out of her bottle.

“Then I’ll be off!” she announces. “You should come home soon too. It’s past 2 a.m.!” You send her off and nod, though you’re planning on staying here for at least another hour, and when the door closes behind the younger girl, you’re finally alone. You too make your way to your bag to wipe your face with a towel, and then you walk over to the stereo to turn the music back on. You return to the middle of the room and keep dancing, paying attention to every single little detail as your body goes through a dance routine you’ve done countless of times over the years. You don’t notice someone opening the door and coming inside until the song ends and you hear a lone person cheering for you.

“Y/N, you’re doing great!” she shouts from across the room before approaching you.

“Aisha,” you call out to her, “what are you doing here this late at night?” She would’ve answered your question right away, if she didn’t become extremely flustered by the way you just called her.

“Why are you using my stage name? That’s weird between us…” she states, almost mumbling, and you have to smile at her reaction. Then she holds out the two plastic cups in her hand that, judging from the logo printed on them, she got from the nearby coffee shop. “Which one do you want?” They’re both sweet drinks with lots of ice, and you point at the one with a pink-ish color.

“Grapefruit?” you guess and Yoorim nods. “Then I’ll take the other one.” Knowing it’s a flavor she likes, you choose the other drink.

She makes you take a little break and you both sit down in the middle of the room. She isn’t supposed to be here, as this practice room has been designated for the trainees only, but if it’s this late at night nobody will mind the two of you being here together. You two used to train together and eventually you watched her make her debut, while you didn’t get chosen for the new girlgroup. Now ever since then you’ve been stuck here, continuing your journey as a trainee. Some would say you’re lucky that the company even took you in and kept you until now, but your frustration levels are rising, the longer your future stays uncertain.

“Wanna try this?” Yoorim tears you out of your thoughts, holding out her drink. “You’d like it too,” she adds. You take a sip from the pink liquid and feel the sweetness spread in your mouth. It makes you smile, so you nod to show your appreciation for the taste.

“It’s good,” you say.

“Right?” she responds. You let her try your own drink as well, before putting it on the ground next to you and getting up. The other girl questions, “You’re not gonna keep practicing, are you?” You reply with a stern look.

“I need to,” you say. “Or I’m never gonna make my debut.” Yoorim sighs and frowns at your words. She gets up and stands behind you, putting her hands on your shoulders.

“I know it’s hard on you…” she starts talking, but hesitates.

“So?” you utter. You’re prepared for her making up an excuse on why you weren’t able to debut yet, and just the thought of it turns your mood sour. You’re done with making up excuses. All you have left now is to work as hard as possible. But to your surprise she says something else.

“There’s a rumor that the company wants to cut down on trainees soon… I heard they want to sell some of you to other companies,” she speaks the uncomfortable truth, but if you think about it, that might not be such a bad thing after all.

“Well… maybe I’ll be able to go to a company that’s willing to let someone like me debut,” you say. “Because I’m sick of this…” It’s not that you dislike being a trainee. You remember well the first time you entered the company and how everything was so new and exciting to you. You didn’t mind the strict rules or the competition, because your motivation always gave you a big advantage. It would give you the strength to stay up well into the night to practice, and it gave you the optimism you needed to avoid thinking about the what if’s. Failure was never an option, and so you were always among the highest ranking trainees during the monthly evaluation, but somehow in the end you did fail to debut.

However, there’s another reason why you could always pull through no matter what. The first time you saw Yoorim was during one of your first evaluations. When you watched the other girls walking into the room you saw that she was among the tallest, but that’s not the only thing you noticed her for. Her stunning beauty left you speechless, and the fierce look in her eyes when she performed a small dance to showcase her skills fascinated you. Just like her shyness when you first talked to her after that. She became someone you looked up to, someone you wanted to be a bit more like and also someone you wanted to surpass, before you noticed another kind of feeling that grew everytime you saw her. And before you noticed time passed in the blink of an eye, she debuted, but never left you behind. She came to see you during your extra hours of practice many many times before, just like she did now.

“Don’t say that,” she answers. You feel her warm breath in your neck as she speaks.

“What if… in the end nobody wants me?” you finally put the doubts that have been circling in your mind for weeks now into words. You feel safe to tell her, and finally you have the courage to admit to yourself that maybe this time you could fail. “What if I’m not good enough? Or not pretty enough? What if I don’t dance or sing well enough, or if I never end up having good chemistry with a group of other girls?”

“Y/N,” she calls out your name and takes a step to the side. You feel her placing her index finger under your chin, tearing your gaze away from the mirror and turning your head so you face her. “You’re good at what you do. I say that because it’s true. I know that one day you too will be able to debut and stand on the same stage as me. I don’t know when that is, but it will happen.” You almost lose yourself in her serious but kind expression. Something about her words makes you think how reliable she seems. And when her gaze drops to your lips, you shut your eyes and you feel her kiss you.

“We shouldn’t be doing this here,” you whisper after you two part. “What if someone comes in…?”

“It’s past 2 in the morning, Y/N. Who’s gonna catch us?” she reassures you, her voice soft, and you must agree that somebody walking in on the two of you seems highly unlikely.

“You’re right,” you breathe, before letting her kiss you again. You sense the emotions deep in your heart that you feel everytime you two are together. You really don’t see each other often enough.

You turn your body towards her fully, and you put your arms around her, bringing one hand up into her hair. She’s taller than you, so you have to tilt your head up to kiss her, but it’s not a bad thing. You quite like your height difference. It makes you feel safe when she holds you.

“Are you sure you’re gonna practice more?” Yoorim asks in between kisses.

“Yeah.” You can’t say any more than that, before your lips meet again. She moves her lips against yours smoothly, but you feel the hunger behind her kiss. When she releases you, she furrows her brows and you find a slight pout on her face. She brushes back a strand of hair that freed itself from your ponytail while dancing earlier.

“Don’t you wanna come with me? Spend some time with your girlfriend?” The tone in her voice isn’t the only thing that tells you how much she misses you.

“It’s the middle of the night…” you say, taking her hands into yours. You avoid looking her in the eyes while you entwine your fingers with hers. You don’t want to see the hurt you’ll cause her to feel in just a second. “You should get some sleep. I’ll stay here another hour or so.” The room is silent for a while. You know she hates this about as much as you do, but she also knows how serious you are about your practice. However, you expect her to get mad, because it wouldn’t be the first time. Instead she surprisingly keeps her composure, and she takes a deep breath before leaning in and placing a kiss on your forehead.

“Then let’s practice together,” she offers and you raise your eyebrows.

“Really?” you ask and you watch her nod.

“We haven’t danced together properly in a while, so… let’s have a little dance battle, what do you say?” You find a certain fighting spirit in her eyes, like a flame being lit up, and you feel like you just fell in love with her all over again because of that expression. At the same time it makes you want to win, so you can’t stop your lips from curling up into a challenging grin.

“Then what are you waiting for? Let’s make some space!” You run over to the stereo to put on some music to dance to, while Yoorim puts away your half-finished drinks.

“I won’t go easy on you, just so you know!” she shouts at you, and you turn on one of the playlists you usually practice to. Then you return to the middle of the room where she’s waiting for you, already warming up a bit.

“I’m not expecting you to,” you say when you stand right in front of her, and you get on tiptoes to place a kiss on her lips. “Winner buys the other dinner?” you suggest. Yoorim returns your kiss, and she makes you feel the burning passion from her own unwillingness to lose to you.

“I know something better,” she whispers, putting her hands on your shoulders and letting her fingers dance down your skin. “If you win, I owe you dinner.” You find another spark in her eyes, before she starts dancing for you. “And if I win, you’re coming over to my place.”

14. Person A and Person B decide to go to an apple orchard to pick some apples, but Person A is too short to reach any of the branches and is getting frustrated

So maybe Aisha hadn’t though this through very well. Picking apples had sounded like the perfect fall date idea after some of her friends did it together, and she’d been excited to share the experience with you. Except in her excitement, she’d forgotten one thing.

You were much shorter than her.

“Do none of these trees have any low-hanging branches?” You asked, sounding exasperated as you looked around. The two of you had walked pretty far into the grove by now, and you’d been unable to reach a single apple. Aisha, on the other hand, almost had to duck under the branches. “Do they just hate short people?”

“I doubt that’s the reason,” she said, trying to calm you down, her cheeks heating up in embarrassment. This was supposed to be perfect, and yet…. “I bet there’s shorter trees somewhere!”

“We’ve been walking for a while now.” you let out a dejected sigh and looked down at your empty pail. “And you’ve had to get every single apple for me.”

Biting her lip, she got on her tippy-toes to try and see ahead, but the grove was packed with trees and she couldn’t see much. Swallowing, she reached up to pull down one of the branches. “We could try this. Can you reach?”

You reached up, only for your face to turn pink as you had to jump to get one of the apples. “That somehow feels even worse! I can barely reach with you pulling down the branches!” You let out a groan and leaned against the tree. “Why did I have to be born with such short legs? Why couldn’t I be a giant like you?”

Awkwardly, she let the branch bounce to its normal place. It shook off a few leaves and they landed on her head, making her quickly brush them off, afraid they were bugs. At least that got a little laugh out of you. “I’m not that tall,” she said after composing herself.

“Yes, you are. You’re a giant. You just pulled down a branch with no problem. I wish I was as tall as you.” You kicked at the ground, and Aisha’s shoulders slumped, her mind racing. This wasn’t what she’d been imagining. She hadn’t meant to make you feel down about your height. She’d just wanted to plan a cute fall date outside.

“I’m sorry.”

“What?”

“I’m sorry, I didn’t know the trees were going to be so high up.” She clasped her hands behind her back, looking down at the ground. “I didn’t mean to make you upset over your height.”

“It’s not your fault!” You quickly jumped up from where you were leaning against the tree to grab her hands, making her look at you. “There was no way you could know that I would be too short. Don’t blame yourself.”

“So you aren’t mad?”

You let out a little laugh. “No, not at you. Just at the rest of the world for being so tall.”

This made her smile and raise her eyebrows. “Am I not part of the world that’s taller than you?”

“Listen,” you huffed, making her smile wider. “What I mean is that I’m not mad at you for bringing me here. It’s a nice day to be outside, I was just getting frustrated with myself. Also, you look cool being able to easily reach the trees.”

“Really?” She perked up. “You think so?”

“I think so. Who else but you could just easily pull down a tree branch? You’re my cool giant girlfriend.”

“I don’t know how I feel about being called a giant, but thank you.” She leaned down to kiss your forehead, blushing a bit when she pulled away and quickly changing the subject. “Um, so what should we do now?”

“I’m fine with you picking all the apples, as long as you give me half.”

“Wait! You could get on my back!” Now both of you were blushing a bit, but you looked a bit excited as your eyes widened.

“Really?”

“Really! You should be able to reach the lower branches from there.”

“If you’re sure it’s okay….” You touched her shoulder, moving behind her, and she swallowed, her heart beating a little faster than usual. This was her first time doing this with you, and suddenly, it felt rather intimate.

“I’m sure.” Bending down, she helped you get on, and you let out a little squeal when she stood up, wrapping your arms around her shoulders tightly, like you were a little scared. Your face was right next to hers, making her feel warm in the chilly wind.

“Wow, I’m so far up!” You giggled. “Just don’t drop me, okay?”

This was… cute. And exciting, and definitely romantic. She couldn’t stop smiling as she held onto you just as tightly as you held onto her. “Don’t worry, I won’t drop you. Can you reach okay?”

You seemed happy again as well as you reached up and easily picked an apple, dropping it into your pail, one hand holding onto her as the other picked. When she looked back, you beamed at her, proudly holding an apple in your hand as the wind tussled your hair, leaving the tip of your nose just the slightest bit red You were adorable. “Look, I got a big one! I bet it’ll taste amazing!”

Never mind what she said earlier. She was so glad she’d decided to take you apple picking.
