Inquisitor fact share:
@shokrakaradaar Found your post about sharing some facts about our Inquisitors and I figured, why not. I love doing this sorta thing.
----
A picture or description of your Inquisitor:
Tumblr media
Very silvery-grey skin, black hair, and grey/nearly white eyes.
Any info about your Inquisitor (age, gender, sexuality, religion ect):
At the start of the Inquisition, Shisaari Adaar was at least 34 years old. By the time the whole end of the world was sorted she was at least 38 years old.
Sexuality wise she’s pansexual- leaning only towards other Qunari. Other races are just to fragile for her to be really intimate with.
As far as religion goes she thinks the whole idea of it to be nonsense. Another prettied up excuse to cause wars and stamp out anyone who disagrees with their ‘logic’.
What race is your Inquisitor?:
A beefy qunari lady.
1 cute fact about your Inquisitor:
Shisaari instantly comes to life when she’s around friends or her people in the Valo-Kas.When she’s around her company her hands start moving independently of her own body. Her crew has managed to read them like the back of their hands, interpreting her hand signals with a deadly efficiency. Most people can’t really figure out her hand movements until they realize, she’s accidently signing words as she’s talking.
A picture or description of your Inquisitor’s favourite location:
Shisaari absolutely adores the Storm coast and the Frostback Basin. The storm coast is most likely her number one place to visit, to the great displeasure of some of her companions. The spray of sea water, violent waves, the taste of salt in the air, and the chaotic swirling colors of the water calls to a part of her that longs to sail the seas again.
When she first ventured towards the location as a member of the Inquisition (and inquisitor) she feels a surge of energy and strength. Often times her companions think she’s been taken too much elfroot.
Who your Inquisitor romanced/would like to romance(can be a picture or description):
Tumblr media
These two didn’t start off on the right foot. Given the fact Iron Bull outright told her who he reported to, that he was a Ban-Hassrath agent, and that his mission was to get into the Inquisition and send reports back home. Given the treatment her father received under the Qun, Shisaari has always had a sour/hostile outlook on the qunari belief.
So for the longest time, Shisaari was always standoffish towards him. Mostly she would allow him to come on her missions if only to keep an eye on him, remaining silent or respond in clipped tones in regards to him. Eventually, things calmed down when he became Tal-Vashoth and saved his men. that earned her respect.
(In actuality she is in a poly relationship with Iron Bull and her second in command Shokrakar. Who looks different from your boy but still an older shit. XD)
Something creative of your Inquisitor (Fic, Art, picture, or another fact):
Shisaari is actually the leader of the Valo-Kas and runs an all Tal-Vashoth company. Some are Vashoth like her, but most are Tal-Vashoth. And all of them listen to her without question.
And I wrote this a while ago.
Info about your Inquisitor’s childhood(was it happy/sad?):
(Sorry I devolved into talking about Shi’s parents.)
Shisaari’s childhood was relatively happy in regards to how her parents has lived prior to settling down and avoiding followers of the Qun. Her mother was a former Viddasala whose mission catatrophically failed at the hands of unknown agents. Instead of repurposing her unit many were slated to become mindless laborers and others..... tortured or killed for their extreme failure. Hasna, Shisaari’s mother, was slated for torture without a chance to seek answers as to how this mission, which should have been perfect in terms of intel and secrecy, could have failed so miserablly. She broke off from the Qun and allowed any of her unit to go back or follow her as a Tal-Vashoth. Shisaari’s father, Maaras was one of the Saarebas in her unit that stayed with her. Given the fact he had no handler in the aftermath and rather than go back and endure hell again at the hands of another handler, he stuck around with Hasna. The two of them didn’t get along well. Hasna still in the mindset magic was to be contained kept him at arms length and only after a few near death experiences did they really get along.
They and a few others of their kith managed to find a way of life for them to continue onwards. One that didn’t include going mad like so many others. In time Hasna and Maaras did settle close to a Dalish settlement where the two parties were able to rely on one another. From them Hasna and Maaras figured out a way to communicate: sign language. It was rough at first. But it worked. the Dalish left they moved onwards closer to human towns and settled around there, evolving their sign language from what they picked up from the humans and merging it with the dalish.
Shisaari’s life was relatively normal. She grew up close to the humans (wary of them no matter how nice they seemed) and became close with her parents. Who both needed help from a midwife to take care of Shisaari as a baby as childcare wasn’t something either of them knew.
Her powers manifested early on. Shisaari was three years old before she could create little sparks with her fingers or create a thin layer of ice on the floor... which her mother slipped on the first time it happened. Maaras, her father, taught her the best that he could to control her abilies and never let them get out of control. Her mother meanwhile taught her how to fight. Up close and personal.
Shisaari’s mother was extremely strict when it came to training and her father was by far more gentle with his teachings. Both were polar opposites but she loved them dearly.
Their stories of the Qun and her father’s... mutilation created a heated festering sense of contempt to anyone who followed it. As a mage she knew she’d suffer her father’s fate.... if she were ever caught. Or worse. And she wouldn’t let it happen. Nor would she see her father bound again.
1 random fact about your Inquisitor:
Shisaari was the captain of her own ship! She acquired one after helping a nobleman clear out his ‘sumer’ home of pests. The pests turned out to be a high dragon and her brood living in a cavern under the foundation of the building with the little dragonlings tunneling up into the house for food and ‘entertainment’. Shisaari and her mercenary group cleaned house and were rewarded with a ship to claim as their own.
Renamed the Meraad’s Abyss Shisaari and her company sailed around port to port, finding high paying jobs thanks to their ease of travel.
Sadly, while it was dry docked and the company was away on a mission which required all of them to be present, their ship was destroyed by a group of anti-Qunari activists. They were against her company, or any qunari, being allowed free reign of their waters. Not when they didn’t know if they truely didn’t follow the qun or were secretly planning to haul slaves back to Par Vollen.
Shisaari tried not to freeze them where they stood.
Your Inquisitors usual companions:
Dorian, Iron Bull, and Varric are her go to buddies. Sometimes she brings along Sera to make things really interesting.
Are they a rogue, mage or warrior? What’s their class?:
Shisaari started to show signs of being a mage at a relatively young age, taking after her father who was also a Saarebas within the Qun. With his help and her mother’s Shisaari learned to control her magic to the best of her ability. During her time in Skyhold she became fascinated with the Knight Enchanters and their abilities to materialize a sword made out of spirit magic.
So to get in on the action a bit more she ended up taking that specialization.
Who did your Inquisitor chose to rule Orlais?:
In truth, Shisaari didn’t like anyone during the debacle at the Winter Palace. Each one was terrible in theor own right Gaspard being a brute with no ability to keep Orlais intact after defeating Corpypheus, Briala too self rightous to see beyond her narrow viewpoint, and Empress Celene being... well a poor leader.  She was a great negotiator but couldn’t keep two vying powers from dethroning her or sowing chaos under under her nose.
In the end Shisaari chose Celene and got Briala to work along side her. Allowing Briala to be executed for treason or killed would only make her a marytr and allow her followers to stir up untold amounts of chaos in the future. While Celene allowed assassins to get within her palace and fail to really convince her cousin and briala to stand down, she had kept the nation of Orlais together up until that point. So she left them in charge.... and romantically in vovled. If only to maybe garuntee they wouldn’t create a catastrophy in later years.
Who did the leave in the Fade and why?
The choice was extremely hard. Stroud had experience and could lead the Wardens should there be no other option. On the other hand... Hawke was a friend of Varrics and one the dwarf desperatly tried to keep safe. Against her better judgement she chose Stroud. Shisaari couldn’t break Varric’s heart.
Favourite advisor?:
A toss up between Josephine and Leliana.
1 happy fact about your Inquisitor?:
Eventually Shisaari ends up settling down after the bloody mess of being an Inquisitor and Solas’ bullshit. It isn’t a permant sorta settling down as she still runs with her mercenary group and with Bull’s. It just allows her some relative peace and quiet with Shokrakar and Bull.
Sometime after getting settled she does end up with three little kids. Aalassan (Shok’s girl), Maas (Bulls’s boy), and another little girl (Bull’s). Even if they arent all their kids, Bull and Shokrakar take care of the little ones when they can. Being their two dads that no one else has.
The kids call Bull ‘patchy’ papa due to his eyepatch and Shokrakar ‘wrinkly’ papa because he’s much older with all those wrinkles around his eyes.
Did they save The Chargers?:
Absolutely. Being the leader of the Valo-Kas she didn’t hesitate to tell Bull to save his people. Part of her felt like he wouldn’t even if ordered him to, but to her surprise, he did.
Do they use a mount? If yes, which one?:
Horses and Dracolisks tend to... be not ideal mounts for Shisaari. Horses can bear alot of weight but they tend to be noisy at times and rough on her hips after a while. Dracolisks are absolutely not built to be ridden by Qunari. At all.
Harts? Now those are some she can ride. They are surefooted, reliable, and loyal from what she’s found. And, if they do charge someone, those antlers are going to gore someone.
Her favorite two are a Tirashan Swiftwind and a Brecilian Sure-Foot harts.
Did they chose the Mages or Templars?:
Mages. The templars reminded her of the horror stories from her father back in the Qun. Unlike the handlers who looked after Saarebas the Templars were allowed free reign and didn’t even care for those they looked after (good or otherwise).
Did they disband the Inquisition or not?:
She disbanded them.
1 sad fact about your Inquisitor?:
Because her father was a Saarebas and their tongues are generally cut out shisaari never really heard her father speak. They ‘talked’ through sign language, yes. But some part of her wished she could hear her father say her name...
Favourite Dragon?:
Hands down the Visnomer is Shisaari’s favorite dragon. It’s markings and coloring left her awestruck when she first Encountered her along the violent shore of the Storm Coast. Granted she hated the fact the dragon was resistant to her affinity with electricity, she couldn’t help but adore how the white markings glowed blue when the beast unleashed a breath of pure energy.
Best fight of her life hands down.
Tumblr media
Opinion of the Qun?:
Horrid. Misguided. Abusive. If you’re smart you won’t bring up the topic of the Qun. Just don’t.
Opinion of the Dalish?:
A hardy, creative people living the best thye can in a hostile world hell bent of stamping them out. She has a very good opinion of them for sure.
Opinion of The Chantry?:
A glorified excuse for people to be at one anothers’ throats and proclaim ‘we are right and nothing else matters!’ Despises their Anti-Mage viewpoints and use of Templars in the past.
1 headcanon for your Inquisitor:
While most mages stick to the back Shisaari never really wanted to do such a thing. She actually had her staff modified to be more durable, stronger, and with blades attached to each end to allow her to fight with it in more than one way. If someone got up close and personal Shisaari would be able to use her staff as a physical weapon without really worrying about it breaking.
Often times she’d knock people out with a swift blow to the head with her staff. Or gut them with the blades at the ends.
What did they think of Inquisitor Ameridan?:
A kindred soul in a sense. Both were forced to bear the Inquisitor’s title... forced to do what no one else could to save the world they knew. The few words they shared allowed her to acknowledge the hallow feeling she kept with her as she continued being the Inquisitor.
Any other information you want to share:
Shisaari excels with frost and electicty based magic and as such, if she’s stuck in a hot, humid enviroment she thrives in it whereas others might die of the heat. To cool herself off she uses her own magic to create a thin later of ice around her body, protecting her from the elements and allowing her to do what she needs to.
On the other hand... fire is nigh impossible for her to really use. It takes a great deal of will to conjour a tiny flame in her hand and as a result, she suffers poorly in cold enviroments. Typically she’ll have to really bundle up to keep warm as her magic can’t sustain a high enough temperature to protect her like her cold magic can.
