the urge to write a short story from the perspective of an ant colony in a lab/box/other method of containment frequently subjected to experiments beyond their comprehension, eventually driving them insane.

#JUST HEAR ME OUT #cosmic horror is defined as.#a subgenre of horror fiction and weird fiction #that emphasizes the horror of the unknowable and incomprehensible. so ant cosmic horror.#the scientists (or normal people; frankly it would probably make more sense if these were just . really weird little kids)#are so much bigger than the ants; almost godlike in their power (able to do whatever they want without repercussions) over those so much #lesser than them. so much so that the ants (smaller beings) are unable to comprehend the sheer magnitude of their captors' size and ability #as they are put through increasingly cruel or inconceivable tests that they are simply unable to rationalize #eventually leading to madness because of the sheer gap between the ants view of the world vs this massive entity #anyways. what was i saying #is this my sign to go to bed
