Ponyboy Curtis mental hospital stay hc bestie??? (We love all of your hc wanna like talk sometime?)
YESSS I LOVE PONY MENTAL HOSPITAL STAY (also thank youuu and omg yes ofc!!)
pony gets sent to a mental hospital around the winter after dally and johnny died
his concussion, along with his deteriorating mental health, caused him to start having hallucinations and night terrors of dally and johnny
his worsening mental and physical health started to show signs throughout his everyday life, mostly making him quick to anger. the school eventually called social services about it, as pony's anger was presenting itself at school with him getting into constant fights and yelling at teachers, which was very unlike himself. when he revealed that he had seen johnny and dally a few times and had consistent vivid nightmares about them, social services thought he might be going crazy
since it was the 60s, he got sent away to a mental hospital by social services, when in reality he wasn't going crazy like they thought. it was just his head trauma causing a short bout of hallucinations, and then ptsd triggering his nightmares to spike and be about dally and johnny
darry and soda fought tooth and nail to keep him from being sent away, but darry reminded soda and pony that this was a sort of deal between social services and darry; if darry cooperated and let pony spend some time there, and pony was doing better when social services evaluated him at the end of his stay, than they would let darry keep custody. darry didn't see much of another way around it, and though he didn't want to, he let them send pony away for two weeks
this sparked a lot of anger and resentment in pony, who hadn't been getting much sleep lately which automatically caused him to be quick to snap in anger at others. not to mention, pony being away from his brothers only made his nightmares worse. so, when pony first gets to the mental hospital, his first few days are spent lashing out, throwing furniture, and screaming at the workers until his throat goes raw
the first few visits were family only, and since pony was in a bad spot with darry, they never went well. he'd usually be dragged away screaming and kicking, yelling at darry for ruining his life. both darry and soda would walk out of these visits crying, though darry's were silent tears and soda was full on bawling
after a while though, pony realized that he was really missing being back home with his brothers. he may have been upset and struggling, but he also knew he wasn't "crazy" like the doctors said and shouldn't be there. he decided to start being on his best behavior so that social services would think he was getting better
in some ways he was getting better. his time away from his brothers, the gang, and his house made him realize just how much he had been missing out the past few months. it made him want to get out of the house more and go back to doing the things he had stopped doing months ago, like going to the movies and the DX. it also made him realize that if he didn't work on trying to get into a better place mentally, there was no way he'd be able to stay with darry, and these few days without darry and soda were some of the hardest of his life and he didn't want to think about spending any more time without them
he really did try to take in the good things that the doctors were saying and ignored the bad things. he especially started journaling more
the next time he saw darry and soda, he broke down in tears and kept saying how sorry he was for lashing out at them, and he promised them that he was going to get better. he started to bring his journal to the visits so that he could read off the things he was feeling to them, which opened up a big door for communication between the three
darry and soda of course forgave him, and never really blamed him for any of it in the first place. although they were worried about pony, they agreed that the doctors were wrong, and pony shouldn't be in there
after a little while, when the doctors had decided that pony is doing better, they let two-bit and steve come to the visits too. seeing them only makes pony miss being home even more, even if it seemed like they were all walking on eggshells around him
at the end of the two weeks, pony seemed to have made a "full recovery" (he definitely didn't, but pony's always been a good liar) and the doctors deemed him fit to be released. after meeting with social services, they decide that pony has gotten better enough to stay in darry's custody
it wasn't exactly easy when pony came home. pony still had night terrors and spent days at a time without sleeping, leaving him miserable and irritable. the curtis house was really tense and everyone tried to be super calm with pony. he appreciated the effort, but he eventually had to tell them to stop treating him like he was a piece of glass, which led to things going back to mostly normal
safe to say that pony spent a lot more nights with his brothers by his side, which helped lessen his nightmares, and he read off a lot more of his journal (and just his stories in general. darry and soda had really liked hearing the things pony had to say and wanted to hear more of the things he wrote. it became a sort of bonding thing between the three)

Darry headcannons 🔥🔥🙏💯🙏🔥
- he lowkey wants to get a few tattoos. One time when he was skiing with his old friends, one of them had a whole sleeve and Darry couldn’t help but keep looking at it. Even when he got home he kept thinking about tattoos. He wants tattoos because he wants to feel young and maybe even a bit rebellious, and he doesn’t even know it. But the feeling of having to be mature and a role model to his brothers outweighs his own personal wants and sometimes needs (imagine Darry with a sleeve aqbbwjsbqb)
-used to hang out with twobit a lot while he was in school. They used to do a bunch of stupid stuff. Even the football team tagged along sometimes. They liked twobit cause he was so funny, and that’s saying something cause they didn’t let many greasers into their circle.
- Darry and twobit don’t hang together as much because Darry is so busy. But when they do, twobit always tries his best to make Darry let loose.
- he freaking LOVES watching football. Yelling at the tv and everything. But sometimes when he sees a really young player and the commenters are like “wow he’s so good what a prodigy!!” He’s kinda like damn.. wishing that it was him
- around the time his parents died, Darry was already super stressed with paying bills and trying to get custody of his brothers. One night pony and Darry got into their first fight as ‘father’ and brother and not brother and brother. Pony was mad because Darry was already bossing him around, which he never did before cause it was their parents job. Pony said he has no right to tell him what to do. Darry blew up because he was already doing so much him and was literally fighting to have custody for him so he has the right to tell him what to do. Soda tried to calm the situation down by just bringing pony to bed. Darry walked outside to get a breath of fresh air. He wasn’t totally in the parent lifestyle at the time, so he decided to go to bucks to blow off some steam. He met up with dally there and got totally wasted. By the end of the night dally was practically dragging Darry out of there. Darry then started blabbering about how scared he was for the future. How he was gonna make a living and keep his brothers safe. He just let it all out then and there and eventually started crying. He couldn’t remember anything the next day, but it was then when dally swore to himself to help Darry with anything.

can you do hcs for the greaser gang (separated) and their s/o if they went to a carnival to have fun , what would they be like?
Summary: You go to the carnival with the gang
Warnings: none
Author's Note: none
PONYBOY CURTIS
Pony loves the fair, he goes every year even when he doesn't have any money. He usually goes with Soda but this time he was busy so you told him you could come.
He doesn't have much money so he just walks around with you, enjoying the view and your pretty sundress.
The smell of popcorn made it's way to you and your stomach growled hungrily. Ponyboy laughed at you while reaching into his pocket to pull out enough money to buy you a bucket you could share with him.
JOHNNY CADE
Johnny doesn't particularly enjoy carnivals, they're too noisy and he gets a little anxious when he's surrounded by people. You practically had to get on your knees and beg him to come for him to go with you.
He's very quiet, sticking close to you as you wander through the crowd like a pro. You stop at a roller coaster that has such steep ups and downs that it looked terrifying.
You stepped back to try and move to a different ride line but Johnny stopped you.
"Wait, this looks kinda fun, let's go on it." He said pulling out the tickets for the ride. You stared at him in disbelief, your palms sweat from the idea of going on that ride.
"...You're joking."
SODAPOP CURTIS
Soda usually goes to the fair because the DX thinks it'd be good for business to have the workers that attract the most crowds (girls) there.
Over time it starts to really annoy him so he decides to bring you along with him one day. So you're just sitting there, his arm around your waist and his work hat lazily a top your head.
Safe to say, all the girls and guys that approached the both of you would be quickly grossed out by the insufferable flirting that you both participated in.
STEVE RANDLE
Steve hadn't been to the fair in a while, he used to go a lot when he was a kid but he started telling himself that he was too old for it.
However, once you asked him to go with you, he jumped on the idea quicker than lightning. He took you out to the fair, but he kept telling himself that he was too old for it, so he was in this weird limbo where he wanted to do everything but wouldn't ask.
Eventually, the enticing look of the cotton made his stomach growl and you forcefully bought him his favorite flavour. After that, he was doing everything, pulling here and there to go on rides because of the sugar rush.
TWO BIT MATHEWS
Two Bit was forced to go to the fair with his little sister, which initially he had no issues with. However, his sister concocted a plan to help him hang out with you with the nice reward of letting her hang out with her friends alone.
She invited you along, telling you that Two Bit asked for you to be there. She wanted for you two to start talking and to slip away to her friends but it took a while for you both to stop talking to her and actually start interacting.
However, once you got into the groove of the conversation, she suggested a place to sit and you were both too absorbed in conversation to care or follow her when she said she would go hang out with her friends!
DARRY CURTIS
Darry does not go to fairs, even when he was little no clown would make him smile and no ride could make him scream. His dad laughed at him and called him a stone statue, and he'd continue that way until you asked him to come help you with your stall.
You were selling lemonade to raise money for a program you were in, but you needed help carrying the large gallons back and forth so you asked him to help you. He obviously said yes because he would do anything for you, so you both drove down to the fair in his little beaten up truck and started to set up the stall.
It was only so long before the tension started to set in, Darry looked so good in his tight tee shirt and he couldn't take his eyes off of you in your cute sundress.
So when he dropped you home, you left him a quick peck on the cheek and he stood there in shock until he kissed you back, this time on your pretty pink lips.
DALLAS WISTON
Dallas comes to the fair for 2 reasons, to cause chaos and to pick up girls. Of course, this time he was set on scoring a date with you, but everytime he got near to you, your friend pulled you away. You were both completely oblivious to the brooding greaser following you and only until you turned around to go back somewhere and crashed right into his chest.
He watched with a smirk as you got up from the ground and frantically look around for your friend who was no where to be found.
"Hey, Y/n"
"Hey, Dallas," you smiled, "you happen to see where my friend went?"
"Haven't, but if we sit over there and wait, she'll come back" he replied.

I’ve got a request. Maybe twobit forms a secret friendship with a really cool soc girl. They started talking because of a shared love for Mickey. One day he finds out she is being abused. that’s also why she would only met up with him at night, because her dad would throw her out for associating with ‘trash’. Or something like that idk
Thank you for the request babe! I love this concept sm 🤗
Different sides of the tracks (two bit x reader)
You and find a greaser that you get along with really well, but your dad isn’t too crazy about you running around with him.
You were at the drive in. You’d ditched your ride, he turned out to be an ass, so you decided to sit in one of the seats by yourself. You didn’t really mind being alone. You liked the quiet actually. It was refreshing, because things were pretty... hectic at home.
Just after you sat down, you heard a certain greaser making a scene with a few soc girls. Technically, you were a soc too, you just didn’t like to think the world was so black and white - socs and greasers. The greaser leaning into the nice, convertible corvette was Two Bit Mathews, a loud mouthed greaser with a good sense of humor. You thought so at least. You knew him from school, y’all had a few classes together, but you didn’t know much about him other than that.
You tried to ignore the complaining and squealing of the soc girls. Sometimes you hated how shallow soc girls could be, how they could complain about someone trying to make friends with them. Eventually you heard the soc girls tell Two Bit to get lost, and you heard his footsteps walk in your direction.
“Is this seat taken?” asked Two from behind you.
You looked up at him. “All yours.”
Two Bit sat down. He looked half surprised that he didn’t have to convince you to let him have the seat.
“Nice shirt,” you said looking at his t shirt with Mickey printed on the front of it.
“Well thanks,” said Two Bit. “You a big fan of Mickey?”
“Yeah, it’s tuff enough,” you said.
Two Bit grinned at your use of the word “tuff.” Socs didn’t usually say that.
“What brings you to the chair section of the drive in?” inquired Two.
You shrugged. “I wasn’t having a great time in the car section.”
Two Bit nodded knowingly. “It’s y/n, right?”
You nodded.
“I’m Two Bit,” he said reaching out his hand. “Nice to meet ya.”
You shook his hand. You usually didn’t shake hands with guys. You two watched the rest of the movie together and chatted about movie snacks, cars, and school. Eventually, Two brought up the elephant in the room.
“You know your pretty nice for a soc,” he said politely.
You smiled at him. You didn’t want to get into that whole ‘things aren’t that black and white thing,’ so you just said, “Thank you.”
Two walked out of the drive in with you, still cracking jokes and going on about how the plot of the movie.
“So, where are you headed after this?” he asked.
“Dunno. Gonna find somewhere to sleep.” you said with your eyes downcast.
“Not gonna sleep at your place?” asked Two.
You didn’t respond.
“Well, do you wanna come over to my friend’s house? They always let people crash there,” said Two Bit nicely.
You couldn’t tell if he was trying to get laid or actually offering you a place to sleep. You didn’t really care either, as long as it meant not going home. So you agreed to go with him.
The house he brought you to was smaller than you expected. You knew that things were different on this side of the neighborhood, but this house was just so run down. Maybe you just weren’t used to seeing houses like that.
“Who’s place is this?” you said, hesitating at the front door step.
“My friends, Sodapop, Pony, and Darry live here,” said Two holding the front door open. He opened it without unlocking it.
You scoffed. “Some friends you have,” you muttered before walking through the door.
The house was surprisingly well kept. The furniture was worn, but clean, and everything was organized neatly.
“Anyone home?” called Two Bit, looking into the kitchen.
“Yeah, I’m here, Darry’s here too,” said a voice from the kitchen.
“Hey Soda, Darry,” said Two, leading you into the kitchen. “This is y/n.”
You waved to them awkwardly. You weren’t expecting to meet anyone. They looked at you a little surprised; you were dressed like any other soc girl after all, but they didn’t say anything, they just greeted you politely.
“Nice to meet you,” said Sodapop. You didn’t know there were greasers that looked as nice as him.
“Y/n needs a place to stay tonight, is that alright?” asked Two.
“Yeah of course,” said Darry, cleaning some dishes.
You were surprised how willing they were to help someone they didn’t even know. Two Bit guided you to the living room again and turned on the TV. Funnily enough, Micky was on.
“Beer?” Two Bit asked.
You nodded with a polite smile. Two disappeared into the kitchen and came back with two cold beer bottles, handing one to you.
“Some hospitality,” you said popping open the beer bottle.
“Yeah. We’re more human than the socs make us out to be,” said Two Bit, half jokingly.
You grinned at him as you took off your jacket with your eyes still focused on the TV. You realized Two was looking at your shoulder. You looked back at him confused for a second, before realizing you had revealed a large, purple colored bruise.
“Never seen a bruise before?” you asked defensively.
“Not one that size. Especially on a pretty girl like you,” he retorted.
“Don’t go on about it,” you said, getting annoyed for the first time that night.
“Where’d you get that?” said Two Bit prying.
“I fell.”
Two was obviously unconvinced.
“My dad gave it to me, alright? Don’t go on about it,” you snapped.
Two was suddenly at an uncharacteristic loss for words. “Y/n, I’m so sorry I didn’t know,” he finally managed to get out.
“It’s fine, it’s nothing,” you said without expression.
“It’s really not,” said Two moving from the lounge chair to sit next to you on the couch.
You felt a lump growing in your throat. Of course you weren’t okay with it, but it had become your new normal. You didn’t think about it that often; but now you were talking about it.
“Y/n, if you ever need a place to stay again, just talk to me,” continued Two Bit.
You sighed tiredly. “Thank you, Two.” You looked at him with saddened eyes.
“Hey, it’s okay,” he said. “Can I wrap my arm around you?”
You nodded, closing your eyes to hold back tears. Two wrapped his arm around you like he said he would, and you leaned into his chest, letting out a small sob.
“Shh, it’s okay, it’s ok,” said Two Bit softly. “Everything's okay now.”
🥺🥺 WOW this one hits different. Sorry I got a bit carried away it’s pretty long. I might write another part on this one, send a request if you want a second part :)

𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐬𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧— how they comfort you when you’re stressed out
𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐬// 𝐚𝐧𝐱𝐢𝐞𝐭𝐲 𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐠𝐠𝐞𝐫𝐬, 𝐛𝐮𝐥𝐥𝐲𝐢𝐧𝐠
𝐫𝐞𝐪𝐮𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐛𝐲 𝐚𝐧𝐨𝐧 — can you do an outsiders reaction where the reader has too much on their plate (work, school, etc.) and their SO asks them if they're ok and the reader just bursts out crying from stress?
i did add a couple different sceneries! because i didn’t want to write the same thing for each of them, but it all has the same feel to it!! xx
𝙙𝙖𝙧𝙧𝙮
your boss decided to call you into work last minute. it’s only been a few hours since you returned home. which means you haven’t even gotten enough sleep to feel replenished. you wished so badly to tell him no, but he’s extremely hard headed and strict. especially towards the woman that work for him. and, you know you could use the extra money, as you’re putting on your uniform you can’t help but feel a sense of tiredness, it’s so overwhelming it makes you start to feel weak at the knees. you immediately call out for darry.
“what’s wrong y/n?” he asks worriedly.
“i-i’m just so tired,” you cry out. “i feel like my boss never wants me to have a break.”
you sit in the chair that rests in front of your vanity. you’ve never felt this exhausted in your entire life. darry takes notice at your weakened state, he hates to see you so worn out. it’s not normal for you to lack energy, you’re the most bubbly person he knows.
“okay, lets lay you down,” darry slides his arms under your legs and carries you over to your shared bed. you’re more than capable of walking yourself, but you don’t complain.
“just take a nap and rest awhile you need it more than anyone.”
“no,” you struggle to escape his strong hold. “i can’t i have to go to work.”
“not today, you’re not goin’ in i don’t care if i have to go talk to your boss myself,” he pulls the blanket over you tucking you in warmly. “rest now.”
“thank you, darry.”
𝙨𝙤𝙙𝙖𝙥𝙤𝙥
you’ve been working towards your masters degree in psychology for the past two years. you’re so close to being done but it’s so much work and the assignment you were just assigned is crazy difficult and time consuming, you try to push yourself to get more done before bed, but eventually your hands start to cramp from the all the typing, your muscles ache from the hours of sitting at your desk. soda comes into your room when he gets home from work. he’s immediately concerned when he sees you hunched over with your head in your hands.
“y/n...” he questions. “you alright?”
it doesn’t take much for you to break. all the stress finally came piling down on you.
“hey,” soda kneels down lifting your chin so he can see your face. “relax.”
“there’s so much pressures on me,” you vent. “this assignment is impossible.”
“nothing’s impossible for you,” he reassures. “you can do anything. i just think you need a break.”
“yeah i definitely do, will you lay with me for awhile?”
“of course i will,” he smiles shyly.
𝙥𝙤𝙣𝙮𝙗𝙤𝙮
you anxiously walked up the tall stairs into your HS, today was the day of your history presentation. this is what you’ve been dreading for the past week. public speaking wasn’t at all something you were comfortable with or liked doing, and it doesn’t help that you aren’t friends with anyone in your class, well besides ponyboy. he’s the only one you speak to.
you meet him in the hallway, putting your book bag and unneeded things in your locker. ponyboy noticed your hands shaking as you closed the door.
“you scared about this whole history thing huh?”
“uh- a little,” you shrug trying to hide your nerves.
“you’ll be fine,” he tries to reassure you.
but before you can walk away you can already feel the familiar stinging sensation starting to build up in your eyes, your heart rate accelerates, you feel like you’re drowning and can’t reach the surface.
“i can’t breathe,” you say as sheer panic overtakes your body.
pony’s face softenes. he grabs your hand dropping his books, taking you into the nearest closet.
“shh just look at me okay?”
you nod focusing all your attention on him. he runs his fingers through your hair while wiping a few tears away from your eyes. you take slow steady breathes. this isn’t the first time he’s had to help you get over a panic attack. once your breathing gets back to normal again, you feel like you’re finally ready to go to class.
“okay,” you breathe. “let’s go.”
“ uh we’re gonna need a late pass... unless you want to spend the end of the day in detention.”
you look down at your watch noticing you’re about six minutes late to history.
“damn it!”
𝙙𝙖𝙡𝙡𝙖𝙨
it’s been a busy night at the movie theater. you’ve tried your best to fill everyone’s orders while also working the cash register. your boss previously complained about how many workers there are on each shift so he cut back. sadly this leaves you to try and get so many things done at once. the stress of it all is starting to really affect you, but you can’t quit. you need this job more than anything right now so you can afford to get books for school.
even though your boss a jerk you do somewhat like this job, you’re a people person so seeing familiar faces every week puts you in a good mood, but every now and then you’ll get a disrespectful customer. this time it was a group of boys, you recognize some of them from the college you attend.
“what shit movies are playing tonight?” one of them asks while skimming through the candy.
“can you read? look at the boards outside..” you try your best to keep your cool.
“i don’t think you employees are allowed to talk to us paying clients like that,” his demeanor quickly shifts.
“hey we gotta problem here,” you hear a voice from behind the guys. knowing immediately who it is.
they quickly scurry off, as dallas pushes himself to the front of the line.
“you okay doll?”
“i am now,” you say softly as you wipe just a single tear from your cheek. you didn’t really care about the boys but it never feels good to be embarrassed at your place of work.
“don’t let those jerk offs make you cry.”
you nod and sneak in a quick kiss before dal leaves.
𝙟𝙤𝙝𝙣𝙣𝙮
“why can’t he do it this time! i’m going to be late!” you argue. your parents have asked you to clean the house again for the third time this week, and you normally don’t have a problem with helping out but your brother has been sitting in his room playing video games all day and you need to be somewhere. you feel like they always pick you at the most inconvenient times, and the worst part is johnny is waiting for you outside, you’d hate to make him wait.
“your brother is sick and slow! it would take him an hour to even sweep the kitchen,” you mom says as she puts her coat on.
“he’s not sick! he’s playing video games!”
“do it y/n! or you and johnny won’t be going anywhere tonight,” you dad warns as he slams the door behind him leaving you in a mess.
“WHATEVER!”
you collapse on the couch, breaking out into a full on crying fit. it feels like your parents are punishing you. johnny must have heard your cries from the front porch because without knocking he opens the front door, approaching you slowly.
“hey you okay?” his asks trying to help but this only makes it worse.
your cries get louder and johnny is completely stunned. he’s never seen you this emotional. you’re almost positive he’s going to think your absolutely insane after tonight.
“my parents hate me!” you say dramatically.
“i don’t think that’s true.”
“they are always making me clean things or do everyone’s chores,” you sigh. “we can’t leave until i sweep and mop all the floors.”
“well i’ll help ya,” johnny offers.
“really?!”
“yeah, but we better get started...” he pulls you up from the couch bringing his jacket sleeve up to your eyes so he wipe your tears away.
𝙩𝙬𝙤-𝙗𝙞𝙩
“i get that ma’am but i don’t have the receipt.”
“then i’m sorry hun...we can’t exchange it.”
you were trying to get a new shirt for two-bit. the one that you previously ordered had came in to small. but since you ordered it off the store website you didn’t have a paper receipt, and your order wasn’t showing up on their computers, which made you frustrated.
“so there’s no way i can get a new one? or even just get my money back?” you question.
“i’m sorry,” the cashier shakes her head obviously uncomfortable with the situation.
you don’t respond, instead you leave the shirt on the counter and walk out. it might not be a huge deal for some people but you didn’t have a lot of money. and you were out 25$, with nothing to show for it. when you get home two-bit is lazily slumped over the arm rest of the couch, drinking a beer.
“hey baby where’d you sneak off to?”
“the clothing store down town...”
“what’s up? you seem upset?” he asks lifting himself up from the couch.
your shoulders slump down as you bring your heads up to cover your face.
“wow wow don’t cry! sorry for askin.”
“no it’s not that,” you tell him. “they wouldn’t let me exchange your shirt today.”
“and that’s what you’re cryin over?” two-bit laughs wrapping his arms around your frame. “it’s fine.”
“i just wanted you to have something special.”
“you’re all i need y/n.”
𝙨𝙩𝙚𝙫𝙚
steve had decided last minute to stop and get gas at the DX before the two of you finish your date. this annoyed you a little since you tell him every morning to just fill up while he’s at work, i mean makes sense right? but with his forgetful nature it’s hard to keep him on track with things. when you pull into the gas station it’s pretty empty, only one car parked along the gas lineup. steve steps out to pump and you go into the store to pay. when you walk in you’re met with a very rude and arrogant man who pushes you aside so he can be helped first at the register.
“excuse you sir?” you’re taken aback. “i was in line first.”
he laughs not offering you a response. the lady working the register meets your gaze and mouths “i’m sorry” in your direction. she must not be a very confrontational person, which you understood.
“i’m only paying for gas it won’t take long,” you add hoping the man will let you go since steve is waiting outside in the freezing weather.
“not my problem, you got somewhere to be?”
“actually yes, i do.”
“dressed like that?” the man scoffs. laughing as he scans up and down your body.
you might not have name brand clothes like him, but they weren’t dirty or disgusting looking. as he hands the lady his credit card to pay you can’t help but hang onto his cruel insult. right before you’re about to storm out the doors, steve runs right into you, latching on tightly to both sides of your arms. you lean your head into his chest.
“hey what’s goin’ on?”
you wrap your arms around his waist, crying softly as you reply the mans insult over in your mind.
“that man he-he was being a complete jerk!”
“what did he do?! huh did he hurt you!” steve becomes more aggressive.
you shake your head.
he takes out a handkerchief from his pocket and wipes your eyes gently, while also trying not to smear your eye makeup. you laugh at his sweet gesture.
“you’re the best,” you lift onto your tiptoes placing a small kiss on his forehead.
“i know,” he smirks. “now let’s go outside before that jackass leaves i wanna give him a piece of my mind.”

// hey so I wrote this at Christmas time and I’m just transferring my one shots here.
**
The air was crisp, especially for Oklahoma. Wind blew the two boy’s hair into their eyes. A small shiver came from the smaller one, Johnny. The older male, Dallas, shrugged off his jacket, placing it on Johnny’s cold shoulders. Wrapping it around himself, he smiled.
“Thanks, Dal,” he spoke softly, the air around his mouth fogging up. Dallas only nodded to him, not wanting to lose his tough demeanor too much.
It was Christmas time, meaning it was time to be around the gang all the time. Nobody really had a place to be other than the Curtis home. However, they had their own family. They were their own family, actually.
The two silently walked for a while, already knowing where they were going. It was calm, a nice break from everything else. The house began to be in sight to them, the sun lowering behind it.
Inside was just like normal, the only difference was Two-Bit being louder than normal. The house had a few decorations scattered around, just enough to look festive.
Darry and Ponyboy were in the kitchen cooking. Well, Darry was cooking, he’s good at it. Ponyboy can’t really cook, but Lord can be bake. The two boys were actually getting along with each other, a real Christmas miracle.
Two-Bit was all over the house and trying to make jokes as always. He tried the same thing as the past years, holding a mistletoe I’ve Soda and Steve. Two didn’t care that it never worked and that Steve always yelled a little. Soda laughed it off as always.
Nobody had even noticed Johnny and Dally come in because of how loud everything else was and how quiet they were. “Dal! Johnny! The whole gang’s here,” Two-Bit said, grinning.
“Hey, guys,” Ponyboy said, coming into the room from the kitchen. Two-Bit stood with a big grin by the presents brought throughout the week. Dally, who had been known to be the last minute gift guy in the years prior, tossed a messily wrapped box by the other gifts. The gang always bought one other member a present, it was a tradition now.
Two-Bit found and picked up the box for him, from Ponyboy. “Can we start opening the presents?” he asked. Darry never cared for staying around for presents, and the other guys agreed to start. Inside of Two’s box was a new Mickey Mouse shirt.
Pony went next with the present from Steve. This was the second year in a row Steve bought for him. Last year he got talked to by Soda for giving Pony coal. This year he just got him a book to be simple.
Next up was Steve, getting the box from Dally. Opening the gift, it showed some good looking tools. It seemed like he had actually thought this gift through, unlike the past. The tools were a good brand, too. The people there were actually shocked that he went and did something so unlike him.
Dally got a present from Darry. He got a knife, something Darry wouldn’t usually give to him. All Dallas did was put it in his pocket. He was confused on why he got him it, but wasn’t going to complain to Darry who wasn’t even in the room.
Skipping Darry, it went to Johnny’s turn. He got something from Two-Bit. There was a jacket on the cheaper side, but still nice. He took Dally’s jacket off, replacing it with the new one from Two. It was a little big for the small boy, but still warm and comfortable.
Johnny got a present for Sodapop, so it went to his turn. He got a nice little care package with some hair grease, a comb, and some other products. He actually liked the present that Johnny had been doubting for the past week or so. He knew the kid had tried his best, and he appreciated that.
Since Darry was the only one left they had to bring him in. “Hey, Dar? You got a bit?” Soda called, to which Darry came in.
“Do you need something?” Darry asked, being handed a wrapped object in return.
“Open it. It’s your turn,” Soda told him. Darry’s hands slid under the neatly put together wrapping paper, tears sounding and forming. Inside was a scrapbook Soda had taken the time to put together. It had pictures of their parents, him with them, and family pictures. No matter how much he didn’t want to, he started tearing up. It wasn’t exactly what Soda had intended, but he turned the pages, his memories flooding back to him. Eventually, he decided to leave the room without a word so he could collect himself, he’d thank Soda later.
Everyone else in the room was quiet, sitting there surprised. It definitely felt a little awkward in the room, and Two-Bit was getting bored of the silence.
A grin formed on the boy’s lips. He glanced over to Dallas and Johnny, starting to put a plan together. He grabbed the mistletoe he had tried on Soda and Steve, hiding it behind his back. Quietly, he made his way to the next two boys.
“Well hey, Two,” Johnny greeted, his voice being the first to break the thick silence.
“Hey, what’s goin’ on over here?” Two-Bit asked as a distraction. The younger boy shrugged, they were doing what everyone was, wondering about Darry. “Oh, okay. That’s cool,” Two-Bit said, barely containing his laughter about what he was going to do.
Two lifted the mistletoe above Dallas and Johnny swiftly. The smaller boy’s face burned as he looked up and saw. Dally just calmly leaned down and kissed him, he had to.
Two-Bit’s jaw dropped. He wasn’t expecting him to actually do it. “Hey Dal?? You know that was a joke, right?” he wondered. All he got was a shrug as an answer.
“Joke or not, it still happened,” Johnny said quietly, earning a small laugh from Dallas. His crazy blush had only calmed a little over the time.
Dally looked to Two-Bit. “You’re lucky no one noticed that, really,” he spoke. Two nodded in agreement, fearing that he was on too thin of ice to speak to him. However mad Dally had seemed, he still let a small smile form, for Johnny.

Darri’s Backstory (fixed)
Wooo finally uploading the fixed version of her backstory! enjoy!!
Darrin’s past isn’t exactly his favorite thing to talk about. When he was no more than the age of six months, his mother, father, and three older brothers were killed by group of miss-match entertainers out for a little extra cash who called themselves Faces of Havoc, who had broken into their home in a failed attempt to rob it while everyone was asleep. He was taken under the wing of Darith Brecey, the dragonborn flutist, who he was dubbed the son of when questioned.
The band raised him in the art of entertainment and he was taught how to sing and how to play the flute. When he mastered the flute, the band started to teach him a little magic to do while on stage, but kept it small so that he wouldn’t find out spells to harm them. When he reached the age of 15, Darrin was mastered in three different instruments and his voice was amazing, but he didn’t feel comfortable in his body.
As time went on, his stage persona grew more and more feminine and he felt more and more comfortable with who he was on stage. He realized that he wasn’t a boy inside, but rather a girl. He confronted Darith, who had become a mother figure to him, and told her about this. Darith supported him, although still used the wrong name and pronouns. Darrin started going on stage as Darri, a female halfling who was proud in her body. He soon gave up on calling himself Darrin and “he” and went on as a girl Darri.
By the time she was 18, Darri noticed the band acting strange around her. She had been working more with her magic and they realized that. The band started to fear that she would realize that she could go out on her own at any moment and decided it would be best to let her join her family in the afterlife. They brought her to the outskirts of a town called Acton, where they attempted to kill her. She fought back with the little bit of magic she knew and any weapon she could find before they left her to bleed out.
She started to make her way towards the town before she passed out. When she awoke, a horrid stench filled her nose. When she regained her vision, she saw the inside of a beautifully lit temple and a dwarven man looking over and making sure she was alive. He was dressed in nice robes of purple and gold and declared himself Preacher Daldrac. It was clear that she was afraid and didn’t trust anyone, but he explained where she was, in the temple of Olidammara in the sewers of Acton, and that she had been healed and was safe. She was accepted into the temple and wasn’t questioned on where she was from and for once, she felt like she was home. Preacher Daldrac helped her back to health after she was found and taught her the way of The Laughing Rogue.
In the time she was there, Darri had fallen in love with a thief that often stayed in the hideout, a half-elven worshiper of Olidammara named Tylora Dardove. Darri had never been in love before and the sudden crush scared her, but luckily Tylora felt the same and the pair grew closer. Whenever Darri wasn’t working with her magic or training with her sword, she was with Tylora.
After five years of learning how to use her magic and training with rogues and thieves that came through, she decided she wanted to start performing. She stayed in Acton, performing under the stage name Quest until she was 63, then decided it was time to bring her performances on the road. She said her farewells to everyone in the temple, then set out on her adventure. It started with simply performing with any chance she got, going on stage as Quest, someone who was totally different than Darri. After three years of traveling and performing, she set out to look after Faces of Havoc, the band that tried to kill her when she was younger.
Years of searching for her band and not finding them, she turned to bounty hunting. She took up missions to kill corrupted kings and queens, steal from the twisted rich, and embarrass the mighty, cruel rulers of the land in any way she can. On her travels, Darri came across a poaching party. They carried furs, cages, and boxes of teeth on the cart they carried behind them. Darri’s eyes landed on a small cage with movement inside. A baby wolf, beat up and damaged, whimpering in the cold metal. She quickly killed the poaching team and rescued the baby wolf, taking her in and bringing her to health just as someone had done for her.
She raised the wolf as her companion, teaching her how to fight and defend. The wolf was properly named Athena. Darri and Athena worked together on missions together, fighting and protecting each other as much as they could. Darri knew bringing Athena on missions was dangerous, and they had both gotten close to death many times, but they made sure that they both got the healing that they needed. From then on, Darri traveled with Athena until she found the first of her party, Daeynore. The pair had a rocky start when Daeynore tried to kill Athena, then started to mess with Darri’s mind before fleeing the scene, not wanting to see Darri cry. Daey returned quickly and gave Darri candies, mistaking her for a small child, before running off into the dark of the forest. Their next interaction was at one of Darri’s concerts. She approached a hooded figure and took off the hood, only to see Daeynore, who ran out. Darri chased her and demanded to know who she was, only to let her go after she got the information she wanted. Every town Darri went to after that, Daeynore was there. She thought it was just a coincident at first, but then realized it was a sign from Olidammara. A sign that she didn’t have to travel alone anymore. Without even discussing it, the pair started to travel together.
Their traveling party consisted of two until one late night when Darri broke into a house she thought was abandoned. She broke in, quietly singing to herself, and looked around for anything worth taking. Her rummaging was disrupted by a voice singing along with her. She ducked behind a counter, keeping as quiet as she could, while the voice continued to sing through the rest of the song. As soon as he was done, Darri made a run for it but tripped and fell. The humanoid- which she now realized was a Half-Elf- went to investigate and was shocked to find the small Halfling on his floor. Darri tried to make an excuse but eventually gave up and explained that she had broken in and that they had held an impromptu duet. He smiled and introduced himself as Dannyd. Darri invited him to dinner, and soon enough the three turned to four. Darri, Athena, Daeynore, and Dannyd travel together, causing their own sorts of trouble wherever they go, but always keeping each other safe.
