Last minor step before alignment: rebuilding the previously installed modification that allowed connecting audio signals directly on the front panel by means of three standard jack sockets . As the holes drilled for them into the thick, steel metal panel are of course permanent, I found it somewhat neatier just to replace the old school, open jack sockets (clearly designed for studio patchbays) with more modern, new "half-closed" chassis sockets that not only protrude much less than the old ones, but also look more elegant! 👌(decoration flat-head screws also had to be installed: even if the new jack sockets do not need them in order to be attached to the panel, the corresponding empty holes would have "destroyed" the elegance of the mod in this new version! 😉) . . Back to one of last years' Hard-To-Fix-Faulty-Harmonizers that was still waiting on the bench to be completely fixed... . Just found a 74C174 hex D-type flip-flop gone bad. This one was causing a somewhat light but rather unpleasant distortion on the Delay Only output (due to the dirty waveforms on some of the IC's pins).
