just seeing orion earlier, in the distance acting as the gracious host, brought the most uncomfortable feeling. seeing his face again after so long ... it was like someone had poured ice water down her back. even remembering it  just now ... she hurried away to the farthest corner to calm herself before she next spotted him — or worse, if he spotted her. she had to be ready. chest heaving from breathing so quickly, she found a couch against a wall and sat down.

since her visions had failed her, almost like a complete mental block, she’d sworn to herself that she’d keep an eye on orion. there was dread in her stomach, and it hadn’t left since she last spoke with jasper. 

noticing her hair caught in one of the stars on her headband, she sighed as she tried to untangle it. nevertheless, she started scanning the crowd again, preparing to keep watch once more.

“ orion bartholomew  ... ” she muttered like a warning, an unusual hint of anger in her tone. still trying to untangle her hair, a worried crease appearing between her brows. feeling a presence nearby, she took a chance: “ i’m sorry, could you help me with the, um, the stars?” she gestured with a weak smile at her hair.

Kit immediately stood up as soon as he saw someone linger by his table. “Please, by all means —” he gestured at the open seat. He’d found the little table and seats off to the side of the roulette tables, and ordered a bowl of the casino’s finger food while he took a breath from the festivities. He could do a party as a prince; there were schedules and certain people to meet and certain things he had to do. But a party as himself?

“You’d do me the grandest honour of having someone to sit with. Even in silence, if you wish,” he added with a chuckle. “Though I would love to hear your story, I’m sure you or costume have one,” he smiled warmly.

Belle Rousseau as the Lady of the Lake, from Arthurian mythology

includes: elf ears, sword earrings (her ears are very tired but its better than hauling around a foam sword like her original plan)

She ended up buying the costume instead, and plans to wear it just lazing about the house after Halloween, feeling like an elven queen and/or a water deity.

includes: a smaller star headband (shown in picture), star earrings, and serena’s hair pinned up

Originally a ‘prototype’ for Juliet’s dress, Serena was convinced to wear this to the Halloween Bash by her new friend Brynne. She’s never been one to enjoy dressing up in Halloween, and since this is Orion’s thing she’s not exactly excited, but she does love an occasion to wear something different.

a girl’s number scribbled on her left hand, her helmet hoisted up on a light fixture somewhere, and a bit of the punch already spilled on the edge of her shirt ... beatrix was having a good night. stopping to take a breath in, she ran her hand through her hair and set her sights on the machines. 

“ it is a casino ...” she thought aloud. “but, like ... i’m good with the casino aesthetic. not the potential-to-lose-all-your-life-savings thing,” she gestured her hand around. “ still. snake eyes knows how to throw a party. that sweet drink thing?” beatrix did a chef’s kiss motion. 

“and in the spirit of gambling ... i bet ... that guy over there — “ she pointed at a man in a viking costume seated at the bar, wavering a little with a glass in his hand, “is going to fall off the chair in less than a minute. you on?” she smirked, turning to them.

serena suddenly felt too bright, regretting her white and sparkly costume. she needed to find jasper, she needed to find orion — maybe not, no, she shook her head at her own train of thought. maybe victoria, maybe freddy — any familiar face would have been a saving grace. and as luck would have it, her anxious wanderings had brought her straight to him.

she reached out to him with nervous, shaking hands, as if hoping to hold onto something before she drew them back, embarrassed. “ freddy ! are you — hi , ” she remembered to say with a watery smile. “ did you see that ? have you seen jasper ? ”

kit blinked at the red-haired young woman, his eyes narrowing as he tried to place her in his memory. he remembered seeing her in the community centre, perhaps that was it  — but only when a memory of elsa appeared in his vision did he finally, fully, remember. 

he stepped forward, drawing her attention with a little wave of his hand. “pardon me, please forgive me for the intrusion, but ... might you be anna, of arendelle?” he smiled, eyes twinkling with recognition. he figured that she wasn’t meant to be outed as royalty here too. “i’m not sure if you’ll remember, we’ve met once before ... but also further back in time. you were smaller, practically an ankle-biter,” he teased. “my name is kit, from ulstead.”

the zombie figure in his hand, he pretended to have it attack the patch of fake blood on elsa’s dress. “ and how are you finding the party, old friend ? shall we stay, or shall i stage a zombie uprising wherein we must leave post-haste, no questions asked ? ” he asked, a knowing twinkle in his eyes.

Kit wasn’t entirely sure what to dress up as, and this isn’t the first time he’s come as Mr Darcy. It turns out old royal uniforms suit Austen characters well. But at least this year he decided to be a zombie-slayer. He has the little figurine so it’s easier to explain his costume lmao

“not gonna lie, after seeing a lot of costumes tonight ... you and me ? still best-dressed,” she smirked, crossing her arms in a proud stance. “so what’s the update, you broken any hearts yet?” beatrix smiled, the obnoxious quality giving way to something softer, her pride moving from herself to her sister. brynne looked amazing, and as painful as it was to be living away from her and bev ... to be living so differently now ... she really did love seeing her enjoy herself.

“are you fully drunk yet, how many fingers am i holding up —” beatrix sniggered, waving her entire hand annoyingly in front of brynne’s face.
