hello im looking at your warrior cats ocs like 👀 could you mayhaps give me a rundown of cloverbelly’s story?

ohmygosh….I’ve been waiting for this moment my whole life!!!

as all good warrior cat stories, it’s quite long. I’ll try to give a small tl;dr at the end if I can :D

(hiding this under “more” cause oh gosh I yapped)

as a bit of background information— cloverbelly is siblings with eveningsun. their mother is pigeonstep, and their father is staggeredrock

not important information; staggeredrock was originally a kittypet, and he was deputy or at least about to be when he died

staggeredrock unfortunately passed in battle before he could meet his kits, and that led pigeonstep to fall pretty deeply into depression :,(

luckily, she had oatpurrs mom in the nursery at the time she was there to help pigeonstep feed herself and her kits; this is how eveningsun and oatpurr met, as kits

that’s it for the background information! :D

cloverkit never had many friends, always glued to her mother. even at this age, eveningkit was too busy being the social cat he is

they both chose to be trained as warriors; while eveningpaw was busy actively training and hanging out with other cats, cloverpaw spent her free time in the elders den, specifically transporting medicine to her mother, who was retired early due to her worsening depression

cloverpaw and morningdove talked daily, cloverpaw being very clearly intrigued by medicine and starclan. —> morningdove was the only cat in her clan who actively talked to her

this went on for a good while, until 1/3 of her way into apprenticeship when her mother unexpectedly passed. struck with grief, she was lost, and morningdove could very easily tell where her passion laid

so, she switched over to train as a medicine cat asap!

all was pretty well for a while, up until 2/3 ways into her apprenticeship.

cloverpaw definitely used her connection to starclan more for herself then trying to interpret messages or what not; she specifically talked to her mother

but then…starclan starts to reject cloverpaw, turn her away and stop their visions (even at the moonstone). for what reason? ahh, I mean, who knows! it’s starclan!!

cloverpaw is very set back; she’s confused, scared, angry, everything at once. but, as the very secluded cat she is, she never spoke about it, letting it bubble up for a while

— morningdove very SLIGHTLY noticed something was wrong, but couldn’t tell what was exactly happening

so, when eveningsun got his warrior name, enough time had passed to where cloverpaw was reallyy showing how she felt (moody, angry)

morningdove assumed it was jealousy of her brother getting his warrior name, so she took a trip to the moonstone to give cloverpaw her warrior name

I don’t know if this is typically done with just them 2 or in the large clan-wide medicine cat meeting…oh well!!

— this was cloverbellys last straw, her last attempt to try and contact starclan. obviously, it didn’t work, and she woke up to morningdove waking her up and starting to go towards the exit

in a fit of pure rage, and delusion, she killed morningdove, certain she had something to do with this

how she gets away with it…? no idea LOL

months pass (if not a year), enough for eveningsun to become deputy. around this point is when eveningsun *tries* to rekindle his relationship with her

she stayed relatively the same, angry, and still healing her clan but without the guidance or messages of starclan ))

oatpurr is now expects her first litter of kits

cloverbelly is ecstatic and delusional as always. she was a mix of mad and anxious for the kits to come, she saw them as a sign of starclan

eveningsun becomes eveningSTAR, and that’s officially her breaking point. she no longer cares about her clan, or anything. she is furious, mad that her brother is now closer to starclan then she ever will be

the kits are born, fennelkit and cootkit.

fennelkit is important, cloverbelly noticed from the start, and fennelkit had a strong pull towards cloverbelly. cootkit was always suspicious of cloverbelly

eveningstar was happy, his sister finally seemed to be getting better

…wrong!

just a few days (1-2) before the kits were scheduled to become apprentice, cloverbelly awoke both kits in the middle of the night and got them to follow her until the edge of the camp

cootkit notices something isn’t right, and cries out to alert the clan. eveningstar + oatpurr wake up, soon followed by the rest of the clan who ends up just watching it all go down

— cloverbelly has to now hold down cootkit, but fennelkit stays by her side in confusion/fear

cloverbelly breaks down, now facing off with her very confused brother. she confesses to everything that happened, how she feels and what she’s done

cloverbelly then picks up cootkit and throws them down the hill, onto upcoming cars. you can assume what happened :(

— oatpurr runs down the hill crying, and fennelkit follows

eveningstar is in shock, to say the least, and cloverbelly takes this chance to attack him, taking his first life

then….starclan appears!

as eveningstar heals, starclan finally shows itself to cloverbelly again…cloverbelly now is the one in shock, immediately facing off with her mother. but, it was a shockingly nice interaction, as pigeonstep embraced her daughter in pity, almost distracting her

eveningstar is alive again

— oatpurr runs up the hill in pure motherly anger. (she can’t see the starclan cats))

oatpurr grabs cloverbelly, throws her to her back and kills her with very little hesitation, only stopping to look at cloverbelly and noticing her very calm/happy expression as she wasn’t fighting back (she was busy looking back at the starclan cats, and her mother)

BOOM AND THATS IT!! technically

cloverbelly assumes this means she’s back on starclans side but lol no! she goes to the darkforest, and becomes just permanently angry and mean

she then goes on to haunt fennelkit/rain, but that’s a whole prequel to her story :)

— I like to think pigeonstep still loves cloverbelly, even after everything. too strong of a motherly pull, and she feels slightly responsible for it

— eveningstar too, he’s mad for sure but feels he could’ve done more to prevent this

I think it’s…impossible to do a tl;dr on this. ahh!!

sorry about the huge essay you have to read, but hey tysm for asking! :D

I’ve been dying to tell her story for a while now that she’s fully written <3

as a quick little ending note..

-> fennelrain is the new main character!

she is prophesied by starclan to be the next medicine cat, and gets trained by a medicine cat from riverclan

- fennelpaw could always see starclan cats. they speak and look at her; it started off very vaguely, but got more intense as she aged

it got really bad when the riverclan cat left and she got her warrior name. she had constant buzzing in her ear, and often would be seen talking to nobody

-> clan cats were almost scared of her

-> mother was busy raising other litters, father was busy being the leader

this continued on for a long while, until cloverbelly came along! fennelrain is in such a weak spot, and cloverbelly sees it,

—-> she is no longer a young adult at this point, it’s been a good while

she manipules fennelrain, promising her relief from the starclan cats who would scream and overwhelm her

….so she started taking darkforest poppy seeds and listening to cloverbelly. this lessened the voices/visions by 90%

——

she never turned evil, per say, but the manipulation from cloverbelly caused her to lash out often.

-> cloverbelly was making eveningstar and starclan out to be the bad guy

-> she lashed out one day, hurt eveningstar (slightly)

right as eveningstar planned to strike back, he was literally stopped by starclan. fennelrain at this point saw the fact the starclan was there to *help* her, not hurt her

so, she watched as the visions poured back at 100% and then ran off to the moonstone for a few days to think.

she came back, and decided to never speak to cloverbelly again. the starclan cats visions came up hard, and she still would see cloverbelly and even be dragged into the darkforest in her dreams, but she stayed true to herself

-> starts taking regular poppy seeds that lessen the visions by 10% and give her pain relief

-> is still ridiculed by clan. often gets hurt on accident cause of the starclan cats. is often seen shushing or talking to them

unfortunately, she doesn’t get off scott free. starclan punishes (???) her by making her outlive her whole family.

after a while of…nothing, a fiery young tom (wrencall) finds interest in medicine and isn’t scared of her. she trains him, and they bond like a family

-> he gets his warrior name, and soon after fennelrain dies at the moonstone after somehow finding the strength to bring herself there

(brief explanation of the story) vv

Cloverbelly and Eveningstar are the kits to Pigeonstep and Staggeredrock.

; Staggeredrock was a former kitty pet

; he died in battle before his kits were born, causing Pigeonstep her depression

; Pigeonstep was assisted in raising her kits by Oatpurrs mother, (unnamed cat)

; Eveningkit and Oatkit’s friendship starts here

Both choosing the path of becoming warriors, they trained together (for the most part) while Cloverpaw tended to her sick mother, who became an Elder early from her worsening depression.

Up until 1/3 of the way into their apprenticeship, Pigeonstep died and Cloverbelly, in midst of her grief, switched to train as a medicine cat

; Cloverpaw never had friends her age, and was often teased for being stuck in the Elders den

; Morningdove, the Windclan medicine cat, had grown very fond of Cloverpaw and knew where her heart lies, allowing the exchange into Medicine cat.

Cloverpaw used her connection with Starclan to see her mother, the only thing that brought her joy; outcasted by the cats her age, and very isolated from Eveningpaw who was always busy being social.

For a still unknown reason, (around the time Eveningpaw became Eveningsun), Starclan began to reject Cloverpaw and stop her from seeing them. This brought Cloverpaw a lot of stress

; never talked about this, but grew increasingly upset and sour

Morningdove caught on, but assumed Cloverpaw was jealous of Eveningsun getting his warrior name, so after a good few months (~2) Morningdove took a trip with Cloverpaw to the Moonstone

This was Cloverpaw’s last hope to see Starclan.

As you can imagine, it didn’t work, so now Cloverbelly was furious. With her new name, Morningdove was turning away to go outside of the cave, and that’s when Cloverbelly attacked and killed her.

; who knows how she got away with this LOL

Time passes after this, maybe a year+ ; nothing new really has happened, Cloverbelly is as isolated as ever but manages to do her job well while hating Starclan

;Eveningsun becomes deputy

She’s driven herself mad, at this point.

Things pick up once Eveningsun becomes Eveningstar. Cloverbelly is beyond delusional and angry that now her brother is closer to Starclan then she is.

Around this time is when Eveningstar tries to rekindle his relationship with Cloverbelly, but it doesn’t work.

Oatpurr is now expecting Eveningsun’s kits, and Eveningsun becomes Eveningstar before they are born.

Cloverbelly is ecstatic and delusional, seeing their kits as a taunt from Starclan— she hates the fact Eveningstar, her own brother, is closer to Starclan then she will ever be

; Fennelkit and Cootkit are born. Cloverbelly can tell from the start that Fennelkit is important

Cloverbelly spent more and more time with Fennelkit, who was already drawn to her, and seemed to be improving mentally;

Eveningstar was happy that his sister was “getting better” and that Fennelkit was so drawn to herbs, hoping this meant that Cloverbelly would train her as an apprentice (something she’s refused to do no matter how many times shes asked)

—> this is seen in the artwork above; Cloverbelly staring at Fennelkit as Eveningstar asks when she’ll get an appearance

just 2 days before they are scheduled to become apprentices, Cloverbelly takes them from the nursery; she convinced Fennelkit to get up this night to go and seen the moonstone, telling her to bring Cootkit alive.

her reasoning for this is never explicitly explained, but it’s likely she was going to kill Fennelkit, if not both, at the moonstone to get back at Starclan

Cootkit senses something is wrong, and calls out to wake the whole clan— Cloverbelly is forced to hold him down. Fennelkit is scared and confused, still by her side

Eveningstar confronts Cloverbelly, with Oatpurr right behind her… Cloverbelly breaks down, and confesses to everything; what she’s done, her emotions, ect.

; Eveningstar is in shock

; Oatpurr Is furious

; Eveningstar commands the rest of the clan to stand down (not interfere).. he still cares about his sister

After that, Cloverbelly grabs Cootkit, and throws him down the hill and onto upcoming cars… you can assume what happened.

Oatpurr and Fennelkit run down the hill after Cootkit

Eveningstar is in shock, and after some more talking, Cloverbelly kills him, taking a single life.

As he revives, Starclan cats surround everything and finally show themselves to Cloverbelly— she is in shock, feeling a bit happy

Pigeonstep is seen upset, watching as Cloverbelly walks up to her. She is distracting her, as Oatpurr runs up the hill

; Pigeonstep loves her daughter, and never wanted to be kept away from her despite Starclan’s decision

(I look at it like there’s a Starclan counsel, they’re not any specific cat who died, but visualizations of the actual Gods)

Then, Oatpurr comes up from behind and kills Cloverbelly in a motherly rage. She only stops once to see how happy Cloverbelly looks, confused (she can’t see the Starclan cats)

… and that’s it in terms of the main story.

but there’s more! ———

That night, Eveningstar gets a dream/prophecy that Fennelkit is important, she NEEDS to be a medicine cat and directs him to Riverclan, who just happens to have 3 medicine cats, allowing Windclan to take one to train Fennelkit.

; Fennelkit’s training goes very well! she’s social and happy despite the distaste and fear the clan has for a while about Medicine cats and Eveningstar

; she sees, hears and can ghostly feel the Starclan cats. this is something she never mentions to anyone

After her training is done, the Riverclan cat leaves. Fennelrain is still happy, but the voices of the Starclan cats are intense and often stress her out.

; shes seen talking, whispering, shushing or yelling at the Starclan cats, who aren’t visible to anyone but her

; nobody fully believes her

(( her mother is busy caring for more kits, and her father is busy being the leader. so she has no support

Moons pass, maybe even a year, before Fennelrain starts to really struggle.. her clanmates are catching onto her previous behavior, and often fear or dislike her

Occasionally she’ll swing at the Starclan cats, causing her to end up hitting someone/something else and getting scratched or bruised.

Cloverbelly sees how stressed she is. So one night, Cloverbelly visits her in her sleep and takes her to the Darkforest. It takes several nights, but eventually she suggests to Fennelrain Darkforest poppy seeds, that lessen all her physical pains, and the Starclan cats.

Fennelrain is on her breaking point, and takes them— she feels lighter, happier and the Starclan cats are reduced to just about 20% (originally being 70% intensity)

; this continues for another year or more

; Cloverbelly is subtly manipulating her into thinking Starclan is evil, and so is Eveningstar

After a while, she does snap and is lead by Cloverbelly to stand atop the Medicine cat den, and yell at everyone how evil Starclan is.

Eveningstar comes over, and Fennelrain slashes at him— as he raised his paw to attack back, Starclan physically stopped him and showed herself in 100% intensity to Fennelrain

-> Cloverbelly fades away

Fennelrain is directed to the Moonstone, where she talks with Starclan… here she is basically yelled at back to her sense, and realizes how important she is. Starclan is fully protecting her, no matter if she likes it or not

So she stops taking Darkforest poppy seeds, stops talking to Cloverbelly and is now “cursed” with physical and mental pain daily. She takes regular poppy seeds to cope, but they only reduce it to 50% intensity.

She is cursed to live longer then her father, mother, and even some of her younger siblings.

But, she does train an apprentice… Wrenkit.

Wrenkit is naturally very smart, and was the first cat to actually see past her struggles. He believes everything Fennelrain says, about her pain and visions, and cares for her.

Nothing really happens until Fennelrain is a really, really old Elder; Wrencall sets her up with curious kits, who don’t know about her past as she tells stories.

The other clans Medicine cats are all fond of Fennelrain, and respect her deeply. Wrencall is like a son to her.

All the love and support she craved as a young cat is given to her, almost as a way of Starclan saying sorry for such a hard life.. then, she passes away peacefully, a day or so after managing up all her strength to see the Moonstone one last time
