To Annoy or Not to Annoy that is the question!
Being looking to buy a home since last year in Dublin, Ireland. It has been an absolute nightmare. What should be one the of the happiest moments in your life has really been hell on earth.
Yes, I know we are in pandemic however, where are the genuine estate agents? I know we have to comply with the lockdown restrictions however, what I have experienced so far is blank return emails or calls or just really greedy agents that all they care about is their commission. The more you do your follow up with them the more you feel like you’re annoying them but this is there job so why aren’t the do it?
I feel for other first time buyers whether they are mortgage buyers or cash where I’ve heard if you have cash you have the upper hand but its not the case from what other people have said.
In this uncertain time we need to come together and work as team to get through this and find a home for our self or those who need it as it looks like the slumdog landlords are on the rise and buying a lot of the the property that would be of interest to those who are looking for their first home. When will it stop and do you think that there should be a limit on investment buyers? I know do.
Stay tuned for updates as they will come daily maybe short and to the point but our voices need to get heard.

5 days and not a word
So I’m back... been a few hours since the last post and feel absolutely disappointed in estate agents in Dublin!
So 5 days ago I’ve sent an message on daft.ie expressing my interest in the property and wanted to know about viewings, etc. I know it was a bank holiday Monday but Tuesday afternoon I called the agent to see if they received it to which I was told assistant/receptionist on the phone that they have it and they would get back to me later that day or the following day as viewings will be held next week. I informed the woman on the phone of my payment situation and she was noted and we’ll be in touch shortly.
Wednesday... still nothing and left a voicemail in the afternoon at the agency to call back as I had some questions as something was odd about the way something was worded on the listing and I did a follow up email with the noted listing from daft.ie but still no a word.
Called twice yesterday as I left a voicemail in the morning and called as he was going into a meeting and said he was going to call me back after the meeting at 4.30pm still nothing... how do they still have a business with this poor communication... I know they’re busy but it only takes a few minutes to write an email to say thank you for your email blah blah we are doing viewings next week here are the times... let us know and go from there... that was less than a minute.
Called today where the woman I spoke to gave me a mobile number that has no voicemail and I’ve called twice... this is not cool!
Very disappointed as in the service that I have received from this agent as I had a different experience with another agent at that same office earlier this year and he knows customer service too bad it wasn’t it him!
tempted to go to the house in listing directly and have my lawyer be the middle man.
