At once, Artemis sees Butler as a father figure who must acquiesce to all his whims.
Yet, it is true that :
1) Butler doesn't see Artemis as a son per se (eg B1 and B5, Butler thinks of Artemis as akin to a little brother or younger close friend - hard to see yourself in a paternal role for someone over whom you have little power)
and 2) Artemis takes up the space in Butler's life that would be occupied by a child.
Relatedly.
Can you even like. imagine. how much of a nightmare Artemis would be if Butler ever had a child

some background points in Amiya’s backstory
inspired by @panyum
some are still incomplete and vague but i;ll try my best, im still mapping out her background. These will be in fking bullet points because idk how to sentence
Amiya’s father is Irish (though he has British blood) and her mother is Japanese (with Western blood as well)
The Plume’s have an affair with the fairies since the old ages (Around Age of Fairies) and they went into hiding until the modern times unwilling to extend their affairs to other mages.
Some of them even have inherited blood of a Fey to which they did their best to preserve it. Some who has the blood died and their remains were left to transfer to another person who is deemed worthy to receive it.
In the modern era, Isolde has mixed-blood followed by Uriel (father)
Amiya, before her there was an eldest child named Erich, Erich was Amiya’s older brother before she was born. Erich inherited the magic crest and the sorcery trait being a mixed-blood (Fey), however, it didn’t come to fruition as Erich died months after inheriting the crest and he was only six years old. Isolde instructed Uriel that his remains would go to the next child.
Like the Edelfelt clan, they also has a sorcery trait that allows two children to inherit magic crest.
Amiya was born months after Erich’s death and while the transfer was successful, however, she was unable to gather mysteries stored in her body. Arina (mother) attributed this to simply being a slow learner. But as time passed, she still is painfully slow and her performance is so mediocre, Uriel is having second thoughts on extracting the crest from her but since it has embedded, the host will die.
Growing up, she lives a sheltered life in the small, countryside of town, she lives with her grandmother, father and mother, although her father was quite busy, she didn’t get attention from him, only her mother who dotes on her and her grandmother.
She also learns there is a spirit inside her where it acts as her guardian and her grandmother taught her to control the spirit. The least it can do is manifest like a small shadow slithering on her feet.
Uriel, even as a mage, he does not show any elitist signs of a magus and just keeps his children away from the affairs, and only teaches them magecraft for self-defense (from otherworldly beings ofc) and in fear they would be under the risk of a Sealing Designation.
By the time Amiya turned six, she has a younger brother named Rene. Since Amiya is the eldest, she is tasked to look after him.
Unlike her, Rene, growing up, he is able to learn thaumaturgy well and fast but he didn’t inherit Fey Blood his older sister has.
When Amiya turned eleven, the family moved to Japan because of his father’s job.
her mother became a stay at home mother, even enrolling Amiya in a self-defense class just in case she wasn’t there all the time to protect her children.
In highschool, Amiya keeps to herself and avoids social contact, she has a few friends but she doesn’t consider them friends at all until she met a girl named Rika who took her out of her shell.
Rika and Amiya became close friends upon their meeting, she became more open and colorful person but still is cautious because of her nature living back with her grandmother.
Rika, a sickly girl caused Amiya to become vibrant and somehow balanced person she is. Her last words to her bestfriend was to live life without any regrets.
She joined Chaldea initially as a medical intern due to her thaumaturgy involving minimal healing.
Prior to joining Chaldea, she is joined by a woman named Chiyo who came from a luxurious but suffocating mage family. Ignorant of the culture in mage, she was shocked about the woman’s experience since she never had that in her family (except one time where she fought with her brother for destroying her garden box she practices her magecraft on)
In Chaldea, she has friends but she prefers being alone. She does occasional small talk on staff and Dr. Roman and Mash.
She is intimidated by Olgamarie and even commented on how her brother is superior than her. Guess, she now knows how much assholes mages are.
As time passes, she became more open to other people and even utilizes the training room where she trains during her breaktime.
Her first mission was Camelot with Chiyo and Rene, there she started using her abilities and even utilizes her mystic code (a staff) to control the familiar inside her.
The familiar inside Amiya empowers her blood and using her mystic code creates a projection of a blade or sickle. She can also stab the target to absorb blood from others albeit it is a hit or miss type as it can work if the blood is compatible with her. She also can create a small barrier around her to stun her intended targets in their place, but this can cause a great weight on her leading enemies to attack her in the open.
Without her mystic code, the familiar can jut out of her back interconnecting from her spine, the familiar is a gigantic skeleton with large talons. This is extremely strong and is on par with Anastasia’s familiar, Viy. The downside is, that since its connected to her spine, the death rate on her is high and she’ll die if she doesn’t get treatment fast.
After events of Olympus, Amiya is so weak after Kirschtaria’s final battle that she evidently collapsed and was in a coma until the first week of August.
