Pardon for the lateness on this, got busy after the episode aired and then proceeded to write a fic using my achemy brainworms lmao. But here it is, the end of a terrific journey!

The permet stress really took its toll upon Suletta after her bout with Eri but that won't stop our girl from trying to save her family. So rough to see though.

Gotta say, besides Nika and Chuchu, Aliya is easily my fav Earth House kid. She's into divination, takes care of animals, and is just so chill

I don't mind 4 but it is painfully obvious he was slotted into this role because of the truncated re-write. 'I guess I'm like her' No sir, you were explicitly not in S1 LMAO! But I guess they needed a newtype to overpower Eri even though it doesn't narratively make sense for 4 to be one. Ah well, in another world where Okouchi got the seasons he wanted ;-;. It was a nice send off nonetheless

Rainbow party permet is so cool, pride Gundam!! I wasn't too keen on Calibarn's design before, tho I love the broom, the rainbow really sells it for me. And that coven of gundams?? So cool. Schwarzette usage here, abysmal pilot, and wealth of unused symbolism stings a bit. They so clearly had an arc planned but had to cut it :/ I would love to see the initial draft before cuts were made

MIOMIO DISSOLVES BENERIT. Hell yeah. Had a feeling she would choose to go this route. Also, the stone cold way she stares down the barrel of a gun... Ma'am, my heart <3 The best peace princess ever

This hit me in the feels. Suletta forgiving her mother, Eri begging for all of them to be a family, and Prospera seeing the ghosts of Vanadis smiling at her lovingly. It was everything to me.

The soundless fake-out as Mio believes Suletta is dead was cruel and brilliant. The horror in her eyes that morphs into weepy happiness when Suletta awakens will stay with me for a long time. They even did the little gundam helmet bop again!

Shaddiq taking the fall for everything was good of him, but it feels a bit too neat haha (They had to wrap up loose threads hastily and it shows) He really is an interesting character that, in a longer run, could have been amazing

Surprise! Sulemio got happily married during the timeskip and now Mio has to suffer a keychain's negging. Super funny outcome but I hope Eri can move between devices or else that's a bit hellish

Mio stealing Shaddiq's highly trained girlsquad is amazing. Ain't no one getting to the president of GUND-ARM without a fight. This also opens up the possibility for more Sabanika, so excellent decision all around

THE RINGS!!!! Ahh any nitpicks are nothing compared to sheer happiness I feel when seeing them. They fought and suffered so hard for this ending and it was all worth it! Eri and Prospera sharing in their joy is the cherry on top~

This image is my fav. Suletta is such a special protagonist and her relationship with Miorine broke ground in a legacy franchise no less. They are in love! They married! And no one can take that from them. Thank you GWitch, I love you lots. This ride has been unforgettable from the beginning <3

I'm just going to write how I know people describe me for personality and how I'm like. And no first years pls

My personality most people describe as hot and cold in a way while also being very loving and supportive, as in I'm very quick at changing moods like a filp of a switch. I care far too much and try to help others (be it family or strangers) and was called very soft for it if not for my alter ego, a split personality of mine that is fairly aggressive to others and is very protective of me. (something, something because of ptsd, autism and a complete mindbreak in the words of my doctor)

Considered a bit obsessive and protective of people I really care for/love like my siblings for example as I'm very willing to throw hands whenever harm comes to them

Eldest of 7 siblings and is like lilia specialising in babysitting, would occasionally go full mother hen Mode and fuss on people. Was raised as a guy for the first 7 years of life.. So considers myself gender fluid leaning feminine (afab)

I'm fairly tall at 5'8 and slender, long knee length black hair that is straighter than my sexuality and gender. not really beautiful even though even though my true name translates to lady brilliant beauty (more of a title than a name lol)

My interest is in the arts and history (mainly in fashion and architecture, don't ever ask me about war cus idk), I've picked up pretty much every single art skill like pokemon cards like for example : embroidery, sewing, painting, sculpting, cetak fabric and dyeing it(draw designs on fabric with hot wax, and proceed to dye it with a paintbrush, a really old traditional art) , drawing, singing, dancing, lace making, soap making, and other DIY stuff

My hobbies are reading, sewing, embroidery, bird watching, dancing, cooking, gardening, and baking. I work mainly as a tailor and sew custom clothes for daily wear and special occasions.

My lifestyle is pretty simple as I don't go out a lot and barely interact with people other than family and clients, tho I mainly stay home as my studio is just at home so I don't go outside much but I still do found fun going out once a week and doing various of activities. I'm still completing my training to be a full flege tailor at a local trade college.

I'm very lazy and gets tired easily, so you can found me falling asleep any time anywhere like silver. Tho social interactions and anxiety drains me the most and is the main culprit on making me fell asleep randomly. I don't really indulge myself other than DIY projects, stuff like games and makeup somewhat bores me and food doesn't really have my interest even though I found so much fun baking and cooking. but I still do it on occasion and do enjoy trying out new games, makeup techniques and recipes. I'm more disciplined on my time and follow my personal rules and laws to a t. tho my schedule is still sporadic, I timed everything I do daily and at most would spend 2 hours a day on gaming and movie watching..

The First Impression:

...Admittedly, I am very drawn by the tailor thing. We've heard a million renditions of Vil and the manager, the co-star, the makeup artist, etc, but tailor is new and adds a whole different dynamic, IMO.

You exist completely outside of Vil's high-stress world, and he finds that quite charming. You're not a model, not an actor, not even a petty famous designer (who refuses to take any of his notes, SMH). But Vil cares far more about skill than status, and so, you immediately catch his eye.

Why He Fell:

There are as many differences as there are similarities, those of which Vil learns to adapt to (though, he really wishes you'd stop calling yourself lazy and not beautiful, when that's obviously not true). And despite your tendency to stay in your comfort zone, he comes to understand that you're open to trying new things, which is probably one of his favorite things about a person. (He takes a lot of pride in teaching you new makeup techniques).

You're responsible, you have goals, you focus on refining your skills... he sees a lot of himself in you, in all the best ways, and he's somewhat relieved by how mature and intelligent you are. He's absolutely enamored with your technical skills, as well, especially in sewing- he might even find himself coming to you for advice.

The Relationship:

You and Vil experience love in all its forms in a very similar way. You're passionate, protective of your loved ones, and deeply caring despite everything. Your shared "motherly" traits balance each other perfectly, and makes your relationship very equal in all ways... just as long as you'll let him pamper you every once in a while.

i don’t know if I’m allowed to give a full review of your fanfic, “minus elytra” of every chapter so I’m gonna just write about the first chapter. However I do have a lot to say about the other chapters too. (Good things)

Chapter one:

so first of all you’ve perfectly set the stage for Moonjos sinister presence. Your back arching writing has this raw and magnetic pull that traps the reader (especially me) into a trance like state. Almost mirroring the main character’s hypnotized state for the handsome dentist. The way you have captured the main character’s numb and robotic existence, showcasing her repetitive and lifeless routine, has me at awe by your work. 😩

And then back to Moonjo oooof. He completely shifts the whole atmosphere. He’s not just a person, human. He’s a mythic figure, a deity. He’s dangerous and the main character knows it, but moonjos irresistible nature pulls the main character out of her dull life. In that particular scene where she witnesses moonjos doings in the parking lot, he becomes both a savior and a destroyer. He’s capable of violence, (obviously since he’s a skin and bone muncher) yet he offers the main character something they’re desperate and craving for: a way to feel again.

The writing, the fvucking writing is just brilliant.

You describe the scenes, the syringe cases spilling out, Moonjos transformation from a smudge into a clear form, and the slow, deliberate way he approaches the main character. It all creates this intimate feeling. AND the “prayer” the main character begins whispering is obsessive, showing how deep and far her awakening goes. The way she’s willing to worship him at his feet, looking up at him like god, even if it is fueled by danger oooof. Honestly this part got my pulse quickening. It was such an intense breaking point, it felt like I was riding on a rollercoaster ride on fireee.

What’s even more compelling and amazingly written is the contrast between them two. Moonjo is without a doubt a monster, murder but yet still gives the main character hope, as twisted and unhinged it sounds. Specifically in that part where he hands her his business card or whatever it’s called. It’s like he’s indirectly giving her a promise, something divine she’s clinging to, knowing it’s also swallowing her up. Like a god, moonjos has given the main character a purpose. How to feel want and desire again.

I just love their dynamic so much and as I said before, you’re an incredible author.

And I WILL keep hoping Lee dong wook stumbles on your perfect masterpiece, dear author.

Today (12/16/23) is the 10th anniversary of one of my favorite comedy specials—

what.

Yes, it's been a whole decade since Bo Burnham graced the world with his YouTube special (and now major comics are following his model lol). While people think of what. as a Netflix special, Bo's plan was to distribute it freely via the internet on 12/17/13 (and he took a pay cut to make it happen!).

Here are some other fun facts about Bo's second comedy special:

1. The trailer is filmed in the Ruhm, Bo's guesthouse and studio that makes an appearance again in Make Happy and in a little special called INSIDE 😉

2. This comedy special was Bo's first professional collaboration with Chris Storer (creator of The Bear) after they met on Adventures in the Sin Bin and it marks Bo's first time directing. They would go on to co-direct Make Happy together and Bo's obviously directed MANY items since, including his incredible story about a teenage girl called Eighth Grade!

3. Bo begins the special wearing three pairs of pants—two red ones and one black pair—a white tee, a dark gray hoodie, confetti in one pocket, a pack of playing cards in his OTHER pocket, and his mouth is full of water. Damn, that's a lot of stuff! 🤯

4. But he doesn't have the water IN his mouth for the stool scene! That was spliced together with the live performance footage (and pretty seamlessly, clearly, since folks asked him about it online).

5. The song Repeat Stuff has a brilliant music video that accompanies it. And the girl that Bo murders at the end is none other than the Vice President's stepdaughter! That's right, Ella Emhoff is Kamala Harris's daughter through marriage, and she is a famous model and artist.

6. Speaking of that music video, the exterior of the house Bo breaks into at the beginning is Bo and Lorene's own home at the time. And that house was used in The Nightmare Before Elm Street franchise (a fact the realtors emphasized when selling the place in 2021—I would have focused on Bo's studio personally haha).

7. The music video also has a cameo from one of Bo's friends, Paul Scheer, as the manager! I actually met Paul at a Human Giant event back in the day, and he was very nice (along with Aziz Ansari and Rob Huebel).

8. While Bo released his special entirely for free, he did have two other items that were for sale at the time—the what. CD (recorded in Madison, WI, thus he says "Get on my level, Madison" in Sad) and his book of poems Egghead. I own the poetry book, obviously, but I cannot find the CD for sale anywhere.

9. Egghead is amazing in both its print and audiobook versions. In fact, the latter is like a whole separate comedy special and well worth the price to hear Bo reading so enthusiastically and with different hilarious voices. 10. Finally, what. features two of my favorite subversive bits: Andy the Frog and the Fishing song.

I was thinking a fun video idea would be to create a Bo Burnham "Kids Show" with all of his darkest routines that seem like they came out of a demented Sesame Street (so like Wonder Showzen haha).

lisa rubini the ultimate mother you are.......... not the best one but she's so real to me. some hc things: i think she worked as a seamstress and before Eddie started earning money was the main source of income for the family. this may not be true for the era, i'm honestly just transferring what happens very often here when women takes over all the responsibilities (the father is either an alcoholic or unemployed or just not there) + this as another reason for the conflict between Lisa and her husband. & because she worked as a seamstress for a long time she developed carpal tunnel syndrome as she got older (i've been told about this problem by several seamstresses). i was just thinking that i often see Eddie & Lisa in my head, with Eddie holding Lisa's hands & carpal tunnel syndrome could be the reason y know? bout eddie's cousin - i think she's Lisa's niece, not Cecilio's

+ some hc bout Cecilio. i think he was a christian & went to church every sunday. there's deep christian guilt but he still beats his wife n son & drinks hard & gamble (Marmeladov from crime & punishment is low-key my ref for him). there's a lot in here about unrealized fulfillment in life (emigration that didn't do any good)

So, first of all, how dare you? There's no reason for the emotional whiplash I experienced reading this monstrosity (positive with all the love and respect in the world i promise) yet here i am... a further damaged woman lmfao

But forreal though, you have a great ability to pull emotions out of your readers and thats just amazing in my eyes, especially as a fellow writer myself :') theres nothing I love more than making the ppl who read my own fics suffer emotionally so congrats to you!

I love how you write everyone in the story, they are so incredibly flawed and fucked up and human that it just makes me shed a tear. Thats why MC frustrates the HELL out of me, even though I adore her. Her flaws make my ass itch but all i want for her is to heal and be happy in the end (same with the others! I be wanting to punch the shit outta them sometimes 😭)

MC is such a tragic character and I feel for her the most. I love how we started off thinking Jisung was this great person but turns out that hes a fucking lunatic. You, Caly literally manipulated us into thinking so, like how Jisung manipulated MC and idk if that was intentional or not but it was brilliant. And Hyunwoo turning out to be like *that* was a punch in the gut. MC being betrayed by the ppl she cared for so much makes her question everything on the crew, especially Hongjoong and that's why I cant be too frustrated with her lol

I dont want this ask to be so long cause i can go in about every little detail 😭 but youve dont such an amazing job. The world building is beautiful, and i dont rly read a lot of scifi like fictions set in space, but when i first got into ateez the first thing i thought of were pirates / space pirates and i even started my own fic with that premise bc i cant help myself but be self indulgent trash so 🤷🏼‍♀️ but thats beside the point

i'm so touched you think so, i really love evoking emotion out of the reader in my works and i'm glad that im effective in doing so <3 one of my goals from the start of writing moc was to create an mc who isn't always likable or enjoyable to read bc i find those sorts of stories unrealistic and sometimes boring, because even tho the setting is very much not real, having characters who do feel real has always been huge to me! i love creating characters who have peaks and valleys, who grow and stumble along the way, and to really show a journey of growth!! hongjoong is just. pure insanity at its finest LOL he's gonna take a lot to fix but we'll see!

i honestly had way too much fun writing that chapter too, i love love looooooove a good hatefuck and it was just too tempting to NOT do >.<

it was fully intentional to sort of bring the readers in on the manipulation yes hehe! i like playing my cards very close to my chest and not giving anything away until the absolute last second i can!!! i think you hit on something lots of people who want her to just give into hongjoong forget - she's experienced so much betrayal from the people she trusted most and that does really stick in the brain and cause lasting trauma, and our poor mc is deeply traumatized by many things that have happened to her! it only makes sense for her to be retaliating and distrustful of those around her in these circumstances!!

heyyyy just curious about your process with the hot limit niki? I wanted to try something similar for a later event and was curious how you knew how much dia & stuff you needed

hi! i did a lot of pre-planning for hot limit i think by late oct-early nov i was trying to figure out how much dia i would need, how many tickets i would use, etc. first of all you need to be very conscious of what you're trying to go for. if youre planning on getting an mv scr or also ranking, im just going to assume you are willing to spend An Amount of money on doing so because doing this kind of thing is almost impossible as f2p unless youve saved up for a ridiculously long time. more under the cut

i knew from the get go i was gonna rank top 10 so the resources i had very much reflected that. for reference these are how many dia and whistles i had (that one support pack was a LIFE SAVER – i think the whistles we got from that were around 20k+ dia worth, so in absence of that i wouldve actually bought the dia pack and started off with around 120k+). i didnt use any dia to scout, but i had 181 scouting tickets saved up for this (so around 63k worth) and probably bought a few more along the way. i only ended up getting a 75% bonus iirc (one copy of adonis 5* (20%), maxed nazuna 4* (50%), and one maxed 3* (5%) – my grind song at that point was oys so adonis was in the main team bc luckily he was brilliant, and nazuna and the 3* were in the support slots).

so in total, not accounting for event rewards, the dia i got from the monthly VIP or any subsequent tickets i might've purchased, i had around 180k worth of dia saved up for this event. if i had been planning for a podium spot (1-3) i probably wouldve tried to have somewhere closer to 300k. keep in mind, because ranking is fast-paced (i would also do this if i was going 22m – ill be doing that for ariadne and i'll try to keep a better documented run when i do so i can put out proper guides for anyone that might need it) you absolutely need to buy the VIP II pack. not for the whistles the whistles arent even a drop in the bucket for what youll be spending BP-wise but because the VIP II pack comes with an unlimited amount of doubling up which you will be doing after every single normal song play to keep up the pace and reach your daily goal (do NOT double up on the event song that is a scam and is infinitely worse than doubling up the normal song).

worth pointing out tho that i noticed a large enough gap between myself and the person after me so i stopped using my dia last few hours of the event – out of 102k i was left with around 34k. so in practice i used up all the whistles, all the scouting tickets, and around 68k dia – a total of 155k dia. depending on who youre trying to go for if youre ranking it might be more or less, for example, i wouldnt be caught dead ranking for any valk event not only bc im not a valkP but because valkP are. well. lets just say i think they're keeping enstars afloat. you'd probably have an easier time with less "popular" characters so that's something to account for. niki is definitely really popular eng-side so i kind of shot myself in the foot here but idc anything for the mippy.

for 22m i'd probably have around 10 ten pulls from tickets saved, and around 65k dia just for playing the event and bp consumption. you'd basically want around 90k dia worth saved up for any mv scr because a 60% bonus is ideal (maxed 4*+both 3*s maxed) and ten 10 pulls should cover that.

i would actually link my spreadsheet straight up if it wasnt such a mess, but just to kind of give an idea of what it was i'll attach a screenshot and kind of talk thru my thought process for what i needed to plan for.

please note the preplanning stuff on the bottom + righthand side. using a kr calculator i figured out what the optimal card placement would be in terms of when skills would go off, etc. i basically just copy pasted the middle part with the song as well as the ones that list oys and heartbeater for that – the calc provides your team potency, as well as the overall score. here's a link to the kr spreadsheet translation. then i would plug the song score number into the sakamoto calculator (disclaimer like the prior times ive linked it multiply dia values x10 because this is a jp event calculator) to get an approximation of how many event points i would get per song depending on how much bonus i would get. for this kind of thing, it's basically a prerequisite that you get 70% (one copy of the 5*, and maxed 4*) so i made approximations from 70-95 in case i got rly lucky. i didnt LOLLLLLL

since my initial goal was 35m my daily goal was around 4.375m with the exception of day 0 – i only really wanted to get to first copy niki that day. so all of my calculations in the bottom half are based on how many normal+event song plays it wouldve taken to reach that number, and how much time it wouldve taken me in minutes, all at 10bp for normal song plays. i think my calculations were literally just like. normal song plays = x and event = y and trying to figure out how much they'd equal if it was (points per song*x) + (points per song*y) = 4,375,000. i kind of bsed this i'm not particularly good at math so i really just kept trying numbers until i got an amount that felt right, and repeated that taking into account the different number bonuses. BUT!!!!!!! here's a big but.

i ended up throwing that all out the window first day LMFAO

i started filling out the top left table as soon as the event started and as you can tell my calculations immediately went out the window because i was like hm what if i rush 😭 and i guess it was okay b/c i ended up going to 39m to place where i wanted to place, anyways. instead of 4m i'd literally just do whatever and go 5-7m+ a day until the last few days. my dia expenditure was at around 8-12k daily which was about what i expected, the first few days i was using whistles so i guess the dia consumption wouldve been double that amount on those days if i didnt have those. i also just stopped giving a damn around day 6 because i forgor and i already kind of knew how much i was spending anyways, i was more attentive to the t10 places than anything else. my camera roll and my friend @spectralpooch can attest to that (i would wake up in a cold sweat bc i needed to check where i was. constantly). i honestly do recommend keeping track of the rankings if youre aiming for a specific stuff tho i swear studying ppls playing habits (?) really helps so you know when to grind more and when you can kind of relax.

i havent talked about event pass usage and to be fair this is up to the player. i personally didnt use event passes at ALL until the very last hour of the event bc idk strategy, i guess. i kind of expected more people to do what i did to shoot up in the rankings last second but it didnt really happen (i went from 29m to 39m in under like. 45 minutes because i had 55k passes saved up call me Albert Einstein). i only used 100 passes for starries every once in a while but that was mostly for the high score ranking because overall i think starries dont give a lot when youre already going for 22m, and i wasnt playing the event song otherwise. like you can see in my calcs i accounted for playing the event song everyday a set amount of times but in practice i did differently bc thats what worked for me and i didnt mind using more dia in the end if it meant i could have a higher rank in the end. it's totally up to preference

you will also rank up a ton. which isnt hugely helpful in the grand scheme of things but something to look forward to, i guess. i think i ranked up around 25? or so times throughout the event and i was already at rank 90 to begin with. anyways if youre able to keep a steady pace and are able to play regularly thats good. if not i recommend frontloading the event on days where you Can play. there's also the psychological toll of watching your dia go down to the tiniest fraction of what it was before.

tldr always play your songs at 10bp, have a shit ton of dia saved up (depending on what youre doing, if youre doing 22m have around 90k if youre doing more than that pray to god)

Okay 100%, cards on the table, that was intentional!! Varian is the type, to me, to push people away a lot. When he knows he's in a bind he'll push people back going "EVERYTHING IS FINE DONT WORRY" and hoping he can stamp out the fire before someone notices!! Dudes got trouble asking for help!! Or even accepting help when it's offered!!

I absolutely think that in the context of SO Quirin would have, at one point, sat Varian down and given him the basic "even if you don't have a Soulmate I just want you to be happy" kind of talk, and for Varian to know that a match with Landis is very much *not* going to do that.... well, it would break Quirin’s heart!! Like I said, songless people at a young age are pretty rare so they almost always end up as either a social pariah or in an arranged marriage--so 100% that's what Quirin would fear for Varian. AND!!! LOOK WHAT ALMOST HAPPENED!!

So a very long and convoluted story short, absolutely Quirin is *Sir Not Appearing in this Film* because of that. Same reason Varian keeps pushing Rapunzel away, same reason he pushes Hugo away at the start. He's turtling HARD and hoping he can fix things himself.

But you're right that's a thing that Varigo have in common. Hugo's more brash and aggressive about it (I don't need people, everyone sucks except for me, they won't understand anyways) but that's absolutely what he's doing. They both tend to shove others away in either fear or panic and it shoooowsssss

They both get small moments with Raps, but you're right that by the end they've learned to lean on others through leaning on each other. They!!! Work together!!! And get through stuff together!!! Let people help you you fucking idiots!!! And that's why at the end Varian especially let's rapunzel (and Eugene) take the wheel and lets go of the urge to try to fix everything on his own. He learns to focus on his own wellbeing for more than a passing thought!!! He learns to be a little selfish when it matters!!

Dick is absolutely horrified that a villain is bastardizing the purpose of Robin and, good gods, did he just see the kid hold up a severed arm and wave at him with it!?

But you’re absolutely right. Originally, Robin was out for revenge for the death of his parents but eventually he became “The Boy Wonder”. The one every Gothamite (except criminals ksks) would be so excited to see or even catch a glimpse of they’d be telling stories about it for years aftward. Robin became a symbol of hope and everything that is still good in this city. And Dick was proud of that, because while Batman is this huge and hulking shadow raining down punishment on the bad guys Robin is the one to calm and soothe the victims, to smile and tell them “everything is going to be ok”. But then Jason died and suddenly Robin seemed like a curse, but Tim managed to bring back that magic and things have finally gotten better since that devastating day in Ethiopia. So this? A criminal with the JOKER’S OLD NAME who appears to be grooming a 9/10 year old into committing the most heinous crimes and murders? Yeah, Dick is taking that shit personally

Jason on the other hand has already had more than one argument with little Bruce about keeping him out of vigilantism until he’s AT LEAST sixteen. Obviously to no avail because, duh, it’s still BRUCE, pig-head-extraordinaire, the kid is going out in friggin pajamas if he has to. So eventually Jason gives in because either his kid does it behind is back in civvies anyways or he can at least provide sufficient body armor and put down some ground rules. Little Bruce is way too smug about it all in Jason’s opinion, so he vows to feed the kid only spinach for the next five days minimum.

But then? Nightwing threatening to take the kid away from Jason? The ensuing fight is absolutely cataclysmic. Red Hood fights like an absolute pit crazed maniac.

Nightwing, Batman and Robin all quickly update their files that “taking away the anti!Robin from Red Hood will not be as easy as initially suspected”.

(Little Bruce is kinda touched by how viciously Jason fought for him and Nightwing has now officially made it on his shit list.)

But before Damian comes into the picture, let’s talk about Tim!

Tim, who’s an insecure little bean with no sense of self preservation who still idolizes Jason’s Robin to no end and is determined to follow in Jason’s footsteps of “rescuing the poor and traumatized child because that’s what Jason would have done”. But Tim goes about it in a much smarter and a lot less offensive way than Batman and Dick. Instead of trying to nab the kid and telling him how bad Hood is for him, Tim actually attempts to build a basis of trust with the kid first.

Casual quips here and there, greetings during patrol (even if that devolves into fights half the time), a liberate amount of little gifts from the Bats, a card with each of their numbers on it and a promise of “if you’re in trouble just call and we’ll come for you!”

Obviously little Bruce isn’t impressed at first, but eventually Robin kind of… grows on him. And since Tim is actually listening to what he says instead of screeching about his adoptive dad guardian being an evil crime lord he starts opening up a little, telling him how kind and loving Jason is and that he’s the most amazing person ever.

That, in turn, throws Tim for a loop. Because—- what? Wait, is Hood actually—- the kid’s real dad? Did we get it wrong?

Tim is so caught up in theories and what-ifs and one too many cups of coffee that he doesn’t notice that he’s not the only one doing some info gathering around here, and soon Little Bruce walks up to Jason and tells him that the current Robin is suffering from criminal neglect and that his counterpart “is too stupid to notice, do something Jason!”

Omg tho the thing with Damian is BRILLIANT! Damian looks exactly like Little Bruce at that age only with darker skin, but it’s not like you can easily tell when someone keeps to the shadows. And they’re literally the same age here, too! It’s like having a set of twins running around but everybody things it’s one kid! Brilliant. Marvelous.

Damian is absolutely FOAMING AT THE MOUTH for being accused of breaking and entering in the span of a few hours since being introduced to his father. In the meantime, Little Bruce is proudly presenting his “spoils of war” (aka the torn Robin suit) to his adoptive dad guardian and asks if they can burn it together. (Jason absolutely does not cry over how touched he is. No way.)

But soon there’s a murderous baby assassin who seems to have it out for Little Bruce during patrol and who demands a “duel to the death for tainting my honor”. Little Bruce is appropriately disturbed because as far as he knows he did not dishonor anybody or their cow recently. And if he did then they totally deserved it. But hey, at least the boy is providing him with sufficient training opportunities.

Damian is getting progressively more frustrated by the Anti!Robin refusing to engage in combat with him.

But he also becomes a little bit suspicious because, wait, those moves seem familiar.. does the Anti!Robin have League Training!? Did mother have another child and is pitting him against Damian to see who will come out victorious?

🍑: I really like college/highschool AUs and even more zukka fics where Sokka is actually described to be smart. Sokka is one of the smartest characters in the whole show Idk why he's been branded as a dumb, dense character by the fandom. Anyways, loved that this fic had Zuko being the one to fall first as-well.

In the Soft Light: As the newly appointed cultural liaison to Northern Water Tribe, Zuko is the first Fire Nation Citizen to step foot inside the city's walls in nearly a century. 🍑: Enjoy this authors' writing style, really engages me in the story. Also ahhhh fanfic based on my moon spirit Sokka... im very grateful 😭. I didn't include this one in an ask about moon spirit sokka au cause I hadnt known about it at the time but now I reread it whenever I can.

I admire the coding put into it so that it has a creative, unique structured. Also cute little things like the scrap paper or the scrollable email box (which blew my mind when I first saw it, I didn't even know it was possible to code something like that) just engaged me more in the writing.

Kiss Me To Just Shut Me Up: Zuko proffers the card, and Sokka takes it, their fingers brushing. Sokka tries to cover up the way he shivers at the contact by turning the card over and squinting at the text written on the front. Zuko Sozin. Tattoo Artist. The Jasmine Dragon. A single dragon curls around the characters in red ink. — There's a new tattoo and piercing shop on Ember Island Beach.

🍑: Oh beau... you're so multitalented. This was the fanfic I was recommending to everyone that bought a zukka print from me at cons like I had no shame I just wanted everyone to read Beau's amazing work. And you all should read it if you havent yet.

Five Times Zuko Wanted to Die (and One Time He Didn't): “Sorry about that,” the voice says, and suddenly the curtain has been pushed aside, and Zuko is speechless. “What can I help you with?” He stares. “Um— ” The boy has to be around his age, he’s sure of it. He’s got the most perfect tan face Zuko has ever seen, with blue eyes so brilliant it’s hard to form words. Or the college-age AU in which Sokka fixes watches, Zuko struggles through engineering, and everyone's nervous about the cute boy from the jewelry shop.

🍑: Modern settings fics that aren't like cafe/barista AUs are kind of hard to find (or at least ones that I like cause im picky) so I was surprised to see this one! Again it's an enjoyable fic where Zuko is smitten first and Sokka is not written as dumb. I also remember wanting to draw fan art (one of the scenes) so maybe I'll go dig that sketch up and finish it.

At the Top of the World: Zuko is sent in disgrace to Alaska's Northern coast to ensure nothing stands in the way of Sozin Oil Company’s new offshore drilling project. He is willing to do whatever it takes to make his father see he’s worthy, even if it means fighting against the one person he's met who actually seems to give a damn about him.

🍑: I'll never shut up about this fic, its beautifully written, well paced and realistic characterizations. As an Indigenous person this fanfic tackled Indigenous struggles better than any other fanfics I've read so far and it shows the author did their research. ATLA fandom tends to sweep aside Katara and Sokka's indigenous identity a lot. It's even more frustrating when most fics acknowledge colonialism and racism and yet brush aside Indigenous discussions or theory because they're either scared of touching the topic or don't care. Even fics that do mention their Indigenity is brushed aside with surface level discussions you can tell the author is just parroting from whatever twitter thread they skimmed. Im definitely not saying that fanfic should be an educator for social political issues or that it should be written in a way that it could replace theory for whoever stumbles upon it. Im just baffled that so many authors will mention colonialism only to explore it's effects on Zuko and not the actual Indigenous characters.......... that's all.

-He had backed away from your table then, seemingly satisfied

-“I’ll leave you to your paper.” He nodded to your laptop but as he walked away, he pivoted back towards you on and the heel of his combat boot, “welcome to Blackheart Bakery by the way, let me know if I can get you anything.”

-Another brilliant smile is sent your way  

-“Thank you.” You had smiled back, sending a tiny wave his way

-Which in turn, made HIS heartbeat all wonky

-And despite how often it may seem like his eyes are elsewhere

-You offer him a tired and slightly amused smile, “No. Y/N died around 4:30, you’re speaking to her ghost. Please leave your message after the tone.”

-Jungkook cracks a smile, his palms resting on flat on the counter, “Do ghosts check their voicemails?”

-“Oh of course not but, I will be checking yours because you have access to caffeine.”

-Jungkook laughs

-no...he giggles  

-and it’s fucking cute

-but you digress

-“I feel like I should cut you off...this is your 4th latte; I’m pretty sure you’re 80% caffeine at this point...”

-“Noooo, don’t do that.” You whine slumping against the counter, “I just need to finish this one page...”

-He quirks a brow as he scribbles something on your cup, unimpressed with your statement, “You said that three hours ago. I’ll make you another one but I’m not putting an extra shot in.”

-Your face turns up in protest but he click his tongue against his teeth , shaking a manicured finger at you

-“Ah ah- nope. I don’t want to hear it. You either take that or I’m making you a hot chocolate and shutting the buildings power off.”

-With a dramatic sigh, you concede

-“Ugh fine. Here-” You go to hand him your debit card but he shakes his head

-“Put that away.”

-You want to protest but given the fact that he’s made the rules thus far during this interaction, you doubt you’d be able to stop him.

-A smile appears on your face then, appreciative of his generosity

-“Thank you.”

-He merely grins, waving you off before rolling up the sleeves of his black Blink 182 shirt

-as soon as his tattoos are out

-all the moisture leaves your mouth

-you try your hardest not to stare at him

-expertly, he eases the espresso shots into the milk, tongue poking between his lips in concentration

-being sleep-deprived

-and a little loopy

-recently, you had gone from vacationing in your timeshare on the edge

-He smirks “What are you doing studying on the holiest day of the year??”

-You giggle

-“The holiest day of the year huh?”

-“Of course. Halloween is the one night a year that the homies can dress like total -sluts and no one can say anything about it.”

-This makes you giggle again

-“And you went with slutty skeleton huh? I love it- it’s like as naked as you can possibly get.”

-He chuckles, gesturing to his costume

-His floppy black hair getting in his face

-“Damn right baby.”

-The way he grins tells you the pet name is a joke

-But the deepening of his voice gets to you anyway

-“Thank you for this. I promise I’ll get out of your hair early tonight.”

-“The only thing I’m worried about getting out of my hair is this white spray paint. You’re welcome to stay as long as you want.”

-He’s put a streak of white spray paint in his raven locks

-Why? You’re not certain

-Does it look good on him, like everything else does?

-Absolutely

-Its been a few hours since your night of studying began

-Jungkook’s dropped off two free lattes since you’ve arrived  

-As well as a slice of his ‘I write cinnamon not tragedies’ bread

-Which was equally hilarious and delicious

-You caught him glancing over at your table a few times but you didn’t think anything of it

-He’s probably just checking to make sure that no one needs your table

-His bakery is packed most nights but Halloween is a special night at Blackheart Bakery

-He has a trick or treat counter set up with free (homemade) candy

-A photo op complete with a fake haunted house backdrop

-A Halloween playlist

-And a bunch of discounts on his signature lattes and food

-you watch him amongst the chaos

-He is completely unfazed

-He seems elated at the amount of customers he has

-he grins and laughs at something a man dressed like Thor says at his counter

-he seems entirely in his element

-you realize that the denial tactics you’ve been trying out haven’t been working

-because this floppy haired, tattooed, slutty skeleton/baker kind of has a hold on your heart

-you’ve been friends for a long time now

-he always makes sure you’re taken care of

-he always asks if you’re ok

-he always gives you this little grin

-it feels like a secret sometimes

-but maybe it’s been his way of letting you know where he stands

-he’s been bringing you lattes and pastries for months now

-he never charges you full-price

-he always reminds you not to work too hard

-“I’m not here for another latte.” You laugh, trying to ignore the thrashing of your heartbeat

-“No? Well, are you finally going to try my Welcome to the Blackened Chicken Parade Burger then? I’ve been asking you for like three weeks…”

-“I’m here to ask you out.”

-Jungkook swears he feels his heart stop

-“You’re here to…”

-He repeats the first part of your response as his he didn’t hear you

-his black fingernails anxiously tapping against the countertop

-“I’m here to ask you out- on a date.”

-Jungkooks face seems to go through various stages of confusion before a shy smirk presents itself on his pretty mouth

-“Me? You’re asking me-“ He places a hand on his chest, “-out on a date?”

-“Yes!” You laugh, slapping the counter a bit too hard, your nerves getting the best of you, “Are you down?”

-He shakes his head but his answer contradicts his movements

-“So down, beyond down. There is no one on Earth who is more DOWN than I am. Yes. My answer is yes. 50000% yes.”

-you can’t help the smile on your lips

-“great. So are you free next Friday then?”

-He grins with his teeth this time, nodding emphatically  

-“Consider the shop closed.”

-and so it was

-you returned to your table moments later

-he’s standing at the entrance of his back room, waving you over with his hand

-and who are you to deny him?

-you make your way over there, annoyed at the instant increase in your heartrate

-he stands awkwardly to the side and gestures to the boxes on the metal rack

-“I just remembered that I’ve never given you a tour of the place. I give all my regulars a tour of the stockroom and my office and uh-”

-he cuts himself off and clumsily cups your cheek

-he pulls you into a kiss

-a really good kiss

-his lips are so warm

-he smells like cinnamon

-you could literally die happy

-The ridiculous nature of his first attempt to kiss you, makes you giggle into his mouth

-you feel him smile, his hands smushing your cheeks together as he pulls away

-“Ok I lied. There is no tour. I’ve just been watching you focus on your computer for the last two hours and you’re just really fucking cute and-”

-this time, it’s you who cuts him off

-“You better give me an actual tour next time. How else am I going to steal your secret recipes?”

-he scoffs in mock offense

-“Ah ha! So that’s the only reason you asked me out huh? Should I be calling you Plankton instead of Y/N? Ew no wait- that would make me Mr. Krabs and he’s a dirty capitalist...”

-You laugh, “Oooh good point. Guess you’ll just have to be Karen, my computer wife.”

-This makes him laugh now and the sound warms your soul

-“I could live with that- I like your last name better anyways.”

5. MANKAI Birthday (Unbloomed)

This is more for personal nostalgia than anything else--this is the first Yuki SSR I ever got, and also the first birthday card I ever pulled! He was my best Yuki for most of my A3EN journey, and still held the comedy crown even after Halloween Yuki took over action and drama. I'm only putting it at #5 tho because for all intents and purposes it's pretty boring-looking as far as Yuki cards go (the bloomed one is nice but I never bloomed it so), but it's still so near and dear to my heart. Thank you for coming home in a token pull, Mankai Bday Yuki

4. MANKAI Glitter (Bloomed)

Not much to say about this one tbh--someone said "you can't make Yuki even more beautiful" and Liber said "hold my drink." All of these cards are beautiful but I think Yuki's might take the cake, with maybe Banri's being prettier, and that's not just me being heavily biased. I think his eye color really helps it stand out, actually, and the background is so nice and colorful

3. A Page From Someone's Life (Bloomed)

Ohhhhh my god gorgeous. My gorgeous son. Beautiful. Stunning. It's such a cute outfit. The accessories. The dress. His posing. So professional. Good job you go otsukaresama Yuki. I will like this card even more if the second copy comes home so I can have it for myself

2. Brilliant Accomplice (Unbloomed)

Last Runway was the first event I did as a revival when I joined A3JP, and though my cards weren't good like. in general. yet, I was able to push my way to getting one copy of this card. I might like this version more bc I actually have it, but in general I do think the composition looks a little better here than it does in the bloomed version. The background of the bloomed one might be a little boring for me? idk

1. Sugary ⭐︎ Magic (Bloomed)

This card is my absolute most beloved Yuki. In EN I knew it was coming and I busted my butt to get it bloomed despite having really bad gacha luck for this event (I think I got one Kumon and that was it). But he's so cute. The colors. The background. His lil wink. I'm love him. He was #1 on my homescreen until the day A3EN died, and while I have a lot of events and cards I've never seen before to catch up on in JP, I'm seriously considering wasting a revival just to get him back
