Since 2025 is a snake year, let me tell you about Žaltys meaning in Balts history (Latvians and Lithuanians). Žaltys aka grass snake is this little guy :) and has always been a very beloved animal.

He's not venomous and not harmful at all, so since the early records people have kept them even as pets inside the house. Any home that had Žaltys either as a pet or just living in a garden somewhere near was considered a very lucky and protected home. They are the ultimate good guys and won't come near mean people or anyone who might harm them. The yellow spots on the head were considered a crown 👑 and in mythology there are many stories about Žaltys king and queen who take care of people. Žaltys motif has always been very popular in Baltic ornaments as luck and health symbol.

So since 2025 is a snake year, I wish everyone is as protected and loved by Žaltys as we believe :) 🐍💕
